Just a quick note to Corleone. The Higuita profile and article are up, just waiting for Ed033 to link it on all the footie pages, but thought you might want to have a look Rene Higuita article

Was waiting for this Ed001, just on my way out but will be checking it out once I get home in a few hours. Thank you mate, I appreciate your hard work and look forward to reading this.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, hope you enjoy it.}

Now this is a perfect example of why I love reading your stuff mate. I knew a lot about the man but you've put things in there what I didn't know so I thank you for that.

This was a perfect first choice for the football legends series, we talked the other day and there's not many like this guy. There's goalkeepers like him, who have scored even more goals, which is remarkable but they got this from him, they all followed suit. He is an absolute legend, something we are missing in today's game, unfortunately. This is what entertainment is all about.

I don't know if you've made your mind up yet but who will be the next you are thinking of doing one on? I know you have other articles/ match previews to do so I understand it may be a while mate :) But thank you, I appreciate your time and effort Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - I was just thinking over who to do actually and I was thinking it will probably be Johann Cruyff. I will do the next in the Liverpool managers list first though.}

Would it be possible for you to do one on Ferenc Puskas please, ed001? Used to be obsessed with the Magnificent Magyars when I was in my early teens, would love to read your take on Puskas (and the Hungarian team of the 50s if you have the time) .

{Ed001's Note - a great shout mate, that is who I will do next.}

Very enjoyable read ed01, like you said a true legend of the game, an inspiration on field for young keepers!

{Ed001's Note - there were a lot of things I had to leave out as well, or it would have turned into a lengthy book, rather than an article!}

Wow Ed001! That was an excellent read. I didn't know his connection to pablo escobar. Really appreciate your hard work mate. Cheers!

Yes both Ferenc Puskas and Johann Cruyff will be interesting reads, look forward to them too!

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

I really wouldn't of had a problem if it was longer ed01 as all the stuff you have done articles and profiles are great stuff keep up the good work mate
Ps it really does brighting the day from all the stupid negitave bs that's some posters keep persisting on posting about our players or owners.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok, it is just the vast majority of people online tend to just not bother if things are long. That was why I split it up into 3 pieces, to try and cover more about him, without putting people off.}

Watch Narcos on Netflix. Will give u an insight into the meddlin cartel and how u don't say no to the requests of the drug lords.

On another note, what a goalie. Good read ed1. Cheers for all you're hard work.

{Ed001's Note - that's true, like when he 'asked' some of the pros along to his jail to play against a team made up of him and his guards. They were terrified in case they insulted him by going too easy on him and even more terrified that they would insult him by beating him too easily.}

Lfc the meddlin cartel were not only drug lords they where terrorists mate. i have just watched netflix narcos and they were disgusting and horrible people, not a nice place to grow up in Columbia in the 80 and its only just starting to get abit better now. Unfortunately mexico is now the same.

13 Oct 2017 01:11:18
Knuckles - for sure they were terrorists. Airliners blown up, bombs on city streets and violence that was chilling to the core. Yet as ed1 alluded to, Escobar was seen as a modern day robin hood as he gave more to the people than the corrupt government did. Interestingly, Mexico and the Juarez cartel was reported as being the focus for season 4 of Narcos but just last month a Netflix employee was found shot dead whilst sounding out locations to shoot the new series. someone's not happy are they😕

Ed1 I'd be terrified too at being 'requested' to play a game at 'la citedal'. It was Escobars prison, built by him to serve his sentence in and run by him. You're not getting out of there if he decides you didn't play the game his way are you. Bet higuitas mates loved him for that one😂😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think Higuita was one of those asked mate. He would have played the way he always does anyway, he was fearless. There are a lot of conflicting stories about it though, Escobar's son claims that one of the players, Alvarez, was marking Escobar and kicked him a few times. One of the guards, a guy known as Crud, explained to Alvarez that he had better back off if he knew what was good for him, or words to that effect. However one of the players who was there went to the MLS to play and still lives and works in the US and did an interview about it. He said they were all too scared to actually do anything of the sort and the warnings came before kick off.}

Cheers for your insight and sharing your thoughts and knowledge on this Ed001. I love this site and the discussions that it offers. Looking forward to any other articles that are coming.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. I really appreciate that.}
