A question for Ed001 if you're around mate.

We all know that you are a big admirer of Firmino, most of us are as well.

So I was wondering if there was any player in the world, that Liverpool could feasibly get (ie not Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo etc etc) that you would swap for Firmino at the moment?

If so, who, and if not, why?

Cheers in advance.

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of anyone I would swap him for that we could get.}

Agree5 Disagree0

Good question actually mate. For his position (s) who would be willing to join us, who is as good as Firmino. That's a difficult one.

12 Oct 2017 15:16:22
I know this would be controversial but Suarez is the one player whose natural style would suit us 100%.

Whether he would be available?
We wouldn't know till we tried,
Maybe he'd be willing to work with Klopp,

Firminio is Suarez minus the goal tally, IMO.

12 Oct 2017 16:11:54
That's such a tough question! Any answer is going to seem like I'm dis honouring Bobby who it is impossible not to love if you're a lfc fan. There must be someone out there who would improve us at CF. Who we could sign. It's not only goals that firmino brings and I think we looked awful against Newcastle without him. (Sorry sturridge, love ya bro) suarez is a good shout. Sanchez maybe.

12 Oct 2017 16:23:31
Mot interested in Suarez return thanks. 🤝.

12 Oct 2017 16:24:25
What about Alexis Sanchez?

12 Oct 2017 16:29:58
Agree with the above comment that Bobby is Suarez without the goals, such a great player and so underrated, if only he could hit the back of the net more often! Maybe he can improve this area of his game though I’d suggest it’s much easier to get better at finishing/ shooting than it is to get better at all the things Bobby is already great at. Have to say I’d swap him for Sanchez though because that is what Bobby would be if he scored more regularly.

12 Oct 2017 17:40:30
Hazard?

12 Oct 2017 17:42:05
Carassco would pawnz Firmino when played in false 9.

12 Oct 2017 18:10:19
Timo Werner or Alexis Sanchez for me. Firmino to play as a number 10.

12 Oct 2017 18:44:24
Lewandowski isn't happy in Bayern he knows klopp system and I'm pretty sure he will do very well with us.

12 Oct 2017 18:54:48
Probably Dres Mertens.

12 Oct 2017 19:12:37
It's amazing how fans insist an out an out striker would not fit into Klopps system if one was to replace Firminho up top. Aren't Lewandowski and Aubemyang out and out strikers who have had exceptional success under Klopps system in the past.

{Ed025's Note - very much so jayden, its these apologists who bury their head in the sand and pretend nothings wrong mate..

12 Oct 2017 19:13:26
Dries Mertens. Having a hell of a time at Napoli. Unlikely to be available though. He's great with Insigne, like Coutinho and Firmino but quicker.

12 Oct 2017 19:34:51
Jayden, it is a matter of opinion and no one is an apologist just cos they disagree with you. That is a myopic way of thinking. I love Lewa (have done so for ages) and I would love him too while Aubameyang clearly has issues as NOBODY bid for him in the summer which means he ain't worth it. Klopp knows him very well so if he did not sbid for him, there must be a reason why.

Back on topic, I would take Sanchez in a heartbeat to replace Firmino as he is both Suarez and Firmino rolled up in one. I do love Firmino tho as many strikers cannot do what he is good at which like it or not, is essential in Klopp's system, a system that has produced near 200 goals (190 to be exact) in the last two season, in all comps.

12 Oct 2017 20:07:01
Bingo have you been drinking. Ed 25 commented about apologist thinking and I never mentioned anyone disagreeing with me 🤦🏻‍♂.

12 Oct 2017 20:13:20
Really BR "Suarez and Firminio rolled up in one? " What have you been smoking? Only Messi and Ronaldo are above Suarez and I include Bale and Neymar in that. Suarez can carry a team on his back, can Sanchez?

12 Oct 2017 21:23:18
a fit younger tevez.

12 Oct 2017 21:48:38
Bingo. You love to keep throwing out stats of how much we score ect. Yes we score plenty of goals but having a lewandowski or whoever up front would help us even more that's not even a debate. If you wanna throw out stats klopp has a win percentage that is less than a manager we sacked 2 years ago to replace him? Is it time to replace him as stats don't lie obviously? I don't want klopp sacked by the way. Forget about stats!

12 Oct 2017 23:25:48
Vardy?

12 Oct 2017 23:32:02
always thought if firmino had Sturridge's 2012 pace and finishing, and coutinho had suarez' mongrel then we'd be unstoppable.

13 Oct 2017 01:58:31
I wish if I knew what all Firminio fans are smoking. Yes he looks good but we are elevating him over the top.

Yes there is no harm in dreaming.

13 Oct 2017 05:35:12
what about danny ings? a fit ings with firmino can give defenders nightmares during the game.

{Ed001's Note - I doubt he will be back to anything like his best for a season or even two or more.}

13 Oct 2017 08:08:24
IR, your post makes very little sense. I am not a stats guy either cos any stat can be used to make a point while another can be used to debunk it. I used that statistic cos it is relevant to the discussion as to whether Klopp's system will benefit more with a natural striker. The proof is that a striker like Lewa or Suarez could well work as one has played in a high press system while the other is Klopp's creation and knows his system inside out. Apart from those two, I don't know anyone who can do the job and play the way Firmino plays. The stat I put out about goals scored is a fact that cannot be disproven by any other stat or metric. This is where stats matter.

As for your stat comparison with BR having a better win pct than Klopp, that is a red herring as there are many factors to consider there. Klopp found a worse team (w/ o Suarez, SG and Suarez with an injured Studge) than the one BR had in 2014. Most of BR's wins game in that 11 game win streak in 2014. His last 18 months on the job were dire hence, he got the sack.

To conclude, BR is not a patch on Klopp in any shape or form and the facts bear that out. Klopp is a winner and has proven his worth in Germany, not Scotland (with leagues and cups to prove it) and in Europe (he has played in a CL and EL final) and has improved us since the shambles left behind by. BR. These are facts that cannot be disputed by any other stat or metric. Apart from all that, I agree, Forget about stats.

N'gog?

{Ed001's Note - obviously top of the list is Nogoals mate.}

13 Oct 2017 09:37:29
I would love to see more of Ings, unfortunately the poor fella has had too much bad luck since signing, I think there's a hidden gem in him. Question is will we ever see it? it looks doubtful but we can only hope, stand by him and wish his fitness all the best.

Personally I think a loan to somewhere like Newcastle would suit him down to the ground, gets him some games, gets his fitness back up, then hopefully he can return fresh for us. Well that'd be the ideal situation, let's see how it pans out. On the other hand, though I'd be gutted to see it happen, it wouldn't surprise me if we got rid.

13 Oct 2017 10:24:58
NGOg the hero scoring that goal at end of Man U game.

13 Oct 2017 11:03:20
There was a time city signed to robinho by just chucking money at him.

Sanchez might not want the move bu5 I'd back the lot on him. 300k per week 4 year deal and like a 30 mil signing on fee which in itself would be half or a quarter of his transfer fee. Just see if he bites.

If we signed him, it would he easier signing other tip players as city proved after by signing theblikes of toure, Silva and aguero.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has zero interest in Sanchez.}
