Just thought I'd say, James Milner last night looked fantastic.
Okay it was weak opposition, but I think against the lesser teams He should start from now on instead of Hendo.
We don't need sidewards passing in these games we need all out attack and he was a big part in that 7nil.
Shocked me, well done Milly.

I think he should start against spurs on sun CAN looked better last night with Milner in the team if hendo is still carrying an injury give him a rest for a few games.

Until he makes a wrong pass and everyone is calling for his head as usual.

I saw nothing special from Milner yesterday - against better opposition his mistakes would have been punished and his best moves were nothing we haven't seen Hendo do even during this below par season.

hjikle i respect your views on Milner but does it make sense to keep playing hendo if he's carrying an injury i think it's unfair on the player himself.

redsteve - if Hendo is carrying an injury then by all means I'd be happy to go with Milner against more attacking teams and Grujic against more defensive teams until he has recovered. I always think that unless a player is really something else (Coutinho level minimum) then they will not be as good with an injury as another PL level player is without one. But if Hendo was actually just being managed after playing a lot of games recently after a long injury (including 90mins in both England games), then I'd prefer seeing Hendo back vs Spurs.

Also worth remembering that Milner is almost 32 and just played a full game. Whether he will have the juice to give the same energy on the weekend against a team that will require him to track back a lot more AND who will spread the play a lot wider with attacking full backs is a big question.

Spot on, Hijkle. I would put Hendo back in vs Spurs as he has been playing well of late vs LC and Utd. He may have just needed a rest so he'll be fresh for Spurs cos we need his energy vs Spurs in midfield where Spurs simply have not been able to match us hence, we are undefeated against them in 9 games in the PL.

Hjikle ta for the reply to my post you made some good points hopfully we get the 3 points Sunday fancy us to beat them.

Pretty sure that Milner is more than fit enough to play 90 mins on a Tuesday night and then again on a Sunday afternoon mate, even at 32! 👴🏻😂.

He looked like his old self again, the player I though we were getting from City a couple of years ago.
That was easily his best showing for us.
