I work in Manchester, anyone else in the same boat?

If so, don't worry, the "we're above Liverpool " bus parade won't be going anywhere near the City, as soon as the bus hits the mancunian way, no one knows where they are.

Instead, the route will be a round robin tour of Salford.

Utd should be happy, IMO. If you score 4 goals, you must have done a lot of things right. Having said that, Chelsea may have shipped in 4 goals but frankly, they should have been two up before even the Rashford penalty. You could see that based on the way both teams played, there are a host of issues that both managers need to work on. We shall see.

Quite a limited game plan from Utd, sit deep and hit on the counter.
Still, they can’t play a high line with that defence.
Got some real quality and pace up front though, the young lad James is a flying machine and looks a good buy.

{Ed047's Note - playing Abrahams was a mistake for me, that guy couldn’t hold up a bank even if my Nan was the teller and no Kante 🤔

I feel giroud is chelseas best option, a good striker who i feel never gets enough credit. Great touch and his link up play is top notch as well as being dangerous from crosses. Would be a great option for us to have when firmino not available, mane and salah playing off him and Trent and robbo putting the ball on his head. Abraham hasn't shown yet he's good enough to lead Chelseas line.

Saving their players for Wednesday. Kante, Pulsic, OG. All start vs Liverpool, like it or not Chelsea win trophies, their entire focus will be to win another against us.

I agree with LFC8 . I think Frank saved most of his players for Wednesday . It sort of back fired and had to use to some of them but it was too late.

I wouldn't think for one second that Frank lampard in his first ever game in charge away to a direct rival United in the league opener decided to leave players fresh for what is essentially a much less important game on Wednesday. He surely picked the strongest 11 he felt was the best available. Only kante who is not 100% fit would be considered first choice. Giroud and pulisic likely wouldn't have started even if no super cup on Wednesday.

Imagine klopp rested salah firmino and fabinho with priority on midweek? Lampard would 100% have taken 3 points against United over beating us in super cup as would every single manager and fan. Laughable to consider otherwise 😂.

{Ed001's Note - no one is going to rest players in a league game for what is essentially a friendly game.}

I don't believe any of that, LFC08 and Roy, respectfully. How do you know he saved his players for Wed? Which players, exactly cos Rudiger is still injured and Kante is still short of fitness after returning from injury last week.

So you are trying to tell me that Frank literally "threw" the game vs Utd, the first game of his managerial career at the highest level vs a historic rival and rival for top 4 in order to be ready for a game vs Liverpool? You actually think he chose to lose the game vs Utd in front of the whole world in order to maybe win a trophy vs a Liverpool team that is miles ahead of his Chelsea team. Seriously, where do you guys get this stuff from?

If you guys are trying to look for an out for Lampard's mistakes, I think you have picked the wrong alibi, IMO. Frankie should not have played Abraham and Ross Barkley cos clearly, they were poor and Barkley is a waste of space. "Chelsea wins trophies". And we don't? Come on, man. If both teams play to their potential, LFC win, end of story. We'll see what happens.

I would agree with that LFC8 if they had been playing a newly promoted team at home perhaps but to prioritise a cup that is not really that prestigious ahead of Man Utd away would be madness and just asking for your pants to be pulled down.
Surely even Frank Lampard isn’t that stupid. Is he?

Hi RedWolf, you might be right mate, I did n't think of the fitness element . did n't think European players needed extra time . I was n't making excuses for him, I did say whatever he was trying to do back fired in a massive way. I just don't understand why he would start with 3 inexperienced youths in a season opener against United.
I do think Wednesday they will be a different animal, I know there is the impression that its a friendly but its far from, like the charity shield neither team treated it as friendly.

{Ed001's Note - they had a few players, such as Kante, who were coming back from injury and not ready to start.}
