MAJOR NEWS
There has been a MAJOR incident involving the misuse of club funds which has been discovered during the due diligence process. Fortunately this hasn't affected the sale process, but one of the club owners could well find himself in very hot water. This story should break after the sale of the club, this was one of the reasons Bentez left the club as he is high moral standard.

Liverpool are set to bid for PSG Striker Mevlut Erdinc.
Liverpool sent a scout to Paris On saturday to watch PSG play Saint Ettiene.Ive heard that the scout was happy with the player and a bid in the region of 11M will be made this week.
MEvlut was PSG's player of the year last season with 32 goals in 16 games and at only 23 years of age looks a bright talent

Apparently RH has changed his thought of having new striker. He realized now that all the forward he got can score goals except Ryan Babel. RH has decided to give Ryan Babel a central role as a chances to prove himself as he did at his old club, Ajax. That's why he reluctant to swap Babel with Jass "the hunter".

RH knew that the best way to get goal with his current forward/striker is to get CREATIVITY from his midfield player. Hence he is considering this 3 players:-

1) Shaun Wright Phillip; which is not in Mancini's Plan
2) Hatem Ben Arfa; available for loan at Marseille.
3) Arda Turan; King Kenny rates him and he dreams to play with us.

My bet is RH will seriously consider a move for SWP and Arda Turan. Where SWP will wear #11, and Turan # 7 (Kenny legend number).

And the team will go like this:

1st Selection
==============REINA=============

JOHNSON*===CARRA*===AGGER===AURELIO

=============POULSEN============

SWP*=========GERRARD*========TURAN

============JOE COLE*=============

=============TORRES=============

LEGEND= Home Grown Player
Subs: Cavaleri, D.Wilson*, Kelly*, Darby*, Skrtel, Maxi, Aquilani, Jovanovic, Kuyt, Babel,

For all these fans wanting aguero at the club, you have to be stupid to be willing to pay 40 mill or so on 1 player(as class as he may be) where we can buy 2 or 3 quality players which would help us with a more competitive squad. i am only being realistic as them "yanks" are not willing to spend a penny on lfc so i am saying if we have 40 mill or wateva to spend from the sale of masch, riera, insua, benayoun etc why not spend it on a quality left back, a pacy winger, and a decent striker. we dont need a replacement for masch as we have enough players there at the moment, so:
lb=cissokho 10-13 mill
wing=turan 10 mill
striker= hulk 15-19 mill
i dont want remy at the club as he can flop and if we are paying abt 14 mill for some 1 unproven then id prefer to buy darren bent/bellamy

To all people usi wikipedia as a source to baack up rumours or "facts" please stop, anyone can edit wikipedia and is the most false source u can use, poulsen is not a done deal as buyern munich also interested, hope he goes there to be honest. .the only source reliable for done deals is the official website of liverpool fc as they will report it first. .also pachecos new sqaud number SHOULD end all this speculation over his future, this is his breakthrough season at anfield!

Does the fact that you, I or anyone else can go on wikipedia and write anything we want, mean anything to you? In all probability, it was a bored school kid who happened to come across a week old copy of the Mirror or something like that.

Pacheco has to get more of a game this season as he is too good not to play! Think of the player he is going to be (i) at the under 19 championships he was awesome and i think all he needs is some playing time in the premiership and he will be more than capable of doing torres's job and/or playing along side him
Cheers LL

Lfc news :
Once Mario Balotelli seals his deal with Man City for around £25 million, Inter Milan will then use this money to sign want away midfielder Javier Mascherano. To replace Masherano, Christian Poulsen will sign this week before the Arsenal match even though the Mascherano deal will go through until next week. Also with the money from Mascherano's move will now allow Hodgson to go for a left back and striker. As a result of the situation at Villa an £8 million bid will be made for Stephen Warnock, and the striker that will be brought in has not been decided yet, its unlikely to be Crouch but you never know? Also a second bid maybe made for Boro goalkeeper Brad Jones but Lfc will not go any higher than £3 million

Putting the stories of the take over and potential signings to one side. The one thing that I hope roy disposes of is the "Zonal Marking System". It clearly has not worked. We conceded far to many goals from corners and free kicks. Just go back to the good old fashion man marking in the box. What do u think guys

*The Spanish national team use zonal marking and they only won the world cup and european cup. .so. .it clearly doesn't work. .

Hi Guys this just in from the Telegraph, dosen't look good about this Kenny guy:

Liverpool sale plot thickens after Kenny Huang lawsuit is revealed
Potential Liverpool owner Kenny Huang was successfully sued for nearly $800,000 (£505,000) in damages by a former business partner after their relationship went sour.

By Paul Kelso
Published: 9:50PM BST 10 Aug 2010
Liverpool-New Kenny Huang twist in Liverpool sale saga
Kop for sale: Liverpool's board will meet on Thursday to discuss potential bidders for the club Photo: PA

The adverse court finding emerged as Huang was preparing to present Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton with an offer for the club and proof of funds ahead of a board meeting on Thursday that may decide the fate of the club.

Huang's bid has been clouded in uncertainty since it was made public amid claims that it would be backed by investment from the China Investment Corporation, the Chinese state's sovereign wealth arm.

On Tuesday Huang's associate on the bid, Marc Ganis, added to the confusion, telling sportingintelligence.com that they had not yet decided whether to make an offer for the club and that no investors, including CIC, had yet been identified.

Huang is one of four potential bidders for Liverpool. Also understood to be considering offers are Syrian businessman Yahya Kurdi, who said on Tuesday he would not offer "one pound more" than the club are worth, New York investment house the Rhone Group, and the Kuwaiti Al-Kharifi family.

The Liverpool board are scheduled to meet to discuss any offers they receive on Wednesday having asked for proof of funds and detailed offers by then.

None of the potential bidders has yet provided proof of funds, though they are all understood to have been subject to background checks by parties involved in the sales process.

The adverse judgment against Huang was handed down in January 1999 by a circuit judge in Seminole County, Florida, and relates to a dispute with a former business associate, Yudong Zhang, and a company, T&K Guang Xin Enterprises.

According to the judgment, a copy of which has been seen by Telegraph Sport, Huang, then a resident of Las Vegas, was ordered to pay damages of $750,000 (£473,000) and interest of $788,300 (£497,000).

On Tuesday night a spokesman for Huang confirmed that the court had found against him in the case but declined to discuss what the source of the dispute was or the nature of the business venture.

Neither could he confirm whether Huang was appealing against the judgment, but he said Huang disputed that the money was owed to his former associates.

Huang has also recently won a legal dispute arising from his involvement in an attempt by a Chinese-owned car company to establish itself in the United States.

Huang was faced with suits for tortious interference with a business relationship, fraud, defamation and a breach of fiduciary duty brought by AutoChina Ltd, but won them all and was awarded $300,000 (£189,000) in damages earlier this year.

According to transcripts of the hearings, held in Miami in March, one of those behind the allegations was David Herzig, who is listed as a co-director in one of Huang's firms, Aspen Infrastructure.

US Court records list Huang as being involved in several other court proceedings in the last six years. Huang's spokesman said on Tuesday evening that he had not been found against in any of them, and that there were no outstanding legal proceedings against him.

"Mr Huang's focus is now on preparing QSL's bid [for Liverpool] and he has briefed all of his advisers that he will be making no further comment at this point in time," the spokesman said.

Earlier Ganis indicated that a bid was not certain. In an exchange with sportingintelligence.com, he said: "Among the most important points I have tried to get out is that no proposal [in relation to a Liverpool bid] has been made and no decision to offer a proposal has been made.

"There were many reports about CIC, yet at no time to [any] party, whether [to] the media, Sir Martin [Broughton] or Barcap, have we ever identified that CIC was an investor."

Meanwhile Kirdi, whose apparently modest business background in Canada and apparent willingness to pay a premium for the club has raised doubts about his credentials, told Bloomberg that he would not over-pay for the club. "I can't pay one pound more than value of Liverpool, I'm not crazy," he said. Kirdi said he was backed by "big names" from the Middle East and Canada but declined to name them.

Long Time reader here - Great job on the site ED. makes an amazing read!

SO much 'happening' talked about but so little actually happening, guess we're all expecting a massive flurry of activity once this damn take over happens. as the Prem league has been informed of the take over (10 day thing) does that mean it will defo be sorted by then? is it a minimum or maximum or 10 day? (proberly sounds like a silly question. go easy with me!)

In terms of transfers - Pousen. i just dont understand the transfer!? maybe its an option to use strictly for bench play or for a second team (to play the 'weaker' squads?) IMO, If mash goes, we have the quality to replace his productivity, we may not have anyone that will play like him and replace his style, but we can defintelty make up for it. Infact im pretty sure i read a statistic that LFC have had MORE wins when masch hasnt been playing then when he has AND more goals scored? can anyone back me up on this? - not saying he isnt a great player and should defo be commanding a transfer of £25mill + (concidering alonso went for 30. .+ argen. captain + pace + passion - full package). Oh well, once he moves away, he can only go down!

Fee needs to be reinvested in a Big striker to partner and cover for Torres - priority.

Rumours about Aquaman being sold?! Whats the deal with that!? . last season was no WAY near enough to assess him on, 1) injury 2) Rafa's strange will to not play him (even when he himself or his close ones said he was feeling fit) therefore lack of match fitness. im not saying hes an Alonso, but the glimpses we got (atletico match + few more towards the end. ) the lad CAN pass, gets into positions, passes forward, attack minded. .He seems to have learnt english, and pretty passionate about his position in the squad. i recon with a few games alongside the top players, he'll be awesome! - if he gets sold for the reported 8mill. . well what a shame. .

Striker -
DO we really need one. only the team n staff knows whats happening in training, but towards the end of last season im sure babel replaced ngog upfront on a number of occasions, and made an impact a good one! And young Dani NEEDS to be incorporated or i think we're going to loose a big talent in the young spaniard. Same goes for Jonjo. impressive talent! they need game time otherwise they will just remain what they are - 'future potentials'
what i mean to say is, signing cole or crouch. . would these guys really be an improvement? (i guess the quota is important however).
save the funds/invest in someone like Ruiz?Bent?. or put it towards a BIG MAN - tevez. (im gonna say it. dont shoot me) Aguero. Zlatan. Dzeko?.

LB -
is Fabio can stay healthy , i think hes a great signing. the IF is big, but especially if we have tricky Glen running forward, Fabio reads things well (unlike Insua), and does a great job supporting the CB's in the fluid supporting 'third CB' style, amazing set pieces. good tackler. but i recon untill we get some funds. AND back into some ChampsLeague. then we can attract the future and world class.

Finally. ill be real happy if whoever takes over, can clear the debts, start on the new ground and guarantee A transfer budget of just something. The worst thing - just BUY big names for stupid money and brand us another Chelsea/ManC. id feel so dissapointed and let down if we end up 'buying' titles. .I have faith in Roy n our staff that they will uphold our tradition and self respect!
Excuse the Essay!

YNWA! Lets get behind Roy n the whole Team and make this a season to remember!

To the guy said this,
"mario BOLATTI sign for fiorentina in january of this year so i don't think that they sell he now"

explain robbie keane when he went back to tottenham after 5 months, or maxi rodriguez was rumoured to be in talks with espanyol to go back their, so bolatti could be in talks with us, but this is my question, who is he?

* Mario Bolatti is a 25 year old Argentinian central midfielder, dont think that he will be a great signing.

10 Aug 2010 22:23:55
Who I think LFC should buy:

ST
Crouch/C.Cole/Klose/Roque Santa Cruz as a link man.
Suarez/Remy only 2 I can think of as partners for Torres.
Midfielders
SWP maybe and Poulsen that's it.
Defenders
Konchesky however you spell his name. That's the only player I would want at LB I think he is fast and has previous experience under Hodgson.

Do you agree with me yes=believable no=unbelievable.

HE'S SIGNED FOR WOLFSBURG!

It's the third time I've had to say it on here now and seriously some of you sound like your only football knowledge cones from football manager or FIFA10. Get a grip! It's cringe worthy some of the stuff i'm reading on here.

And before anyone says anything I've been a season ticket holder at anfield for 18 years and spent a good few years playing at the academy so I know my football.

In response to

Hodgson rates Daniel Agger as one of the best all round defenders in europe (good pace, positioning, strong etc) and has asked him who he wants to partner him at the heart of the Liverpool defence - The answer - His international team mate Simon Kjaer - Therefore expect him to sign soon - fee - £9m.

He will be joined by Poulsen (who Agger has spoken very highly of today) for £3.5m.

Poulsen will be used in a very deep holding midfield role in rotation with none other than Jamie Carragher. Carra has lost his pace a little and Hodgson feels he may be a liability at times in the centre of defence, but he has always had great positional sense and the ability to read to play, so Hodgson is certain he can fill the 'win the ball, play it simple' role in front of the defence - Thoughts??

Kjaer plays for Wolfsburg just been bought I wish we would have bought him though

Apparently the italian player we have been linked with is a brazillian centre back (free agent) from an italian team; well over 6ft and is considered an excellent prospect aged only 22. Was offered a contract from a brazillian team but has instead opted to look for a club in europe. Could be ideal to play alongside agger in the longer term.

I read it on the LFC website.

p.s. I do have to say i agree with the guy who says we should give our youth a try, especially pacheco, looked supurb in euros. Also I wonder if Poulson could be used for a year or two with the aim of bringing spearing into that holding role.

Cheers guys - comments welcome although go easy.

Zolten Gera to rejoin Hodgson at liverpool.

Don't know what I think about this one as I don't know were we would play him. He is a RM but we already have Kuyt who gives his all every match but is he good enough. Then we have Maxi who has great tactical awareness and good passing. Gera said he also likes to play behind the ST but we just got Cole and we have Stevie, Aqualani and maybe Kuyt who could play there.

What do you think plz post back a response.

Was trying to find out more about Yahya Kirdi and i seems quite difficult, there is no mention of him been rich and also no mention of him been a good businessman, apparently he has run a few but they have all ceased to exist within a couple years of him starting them up, and i ask one question, do we really want this shady character running our club?
He seems to me just to be there to hike up the price and get the crooks in charge at the moment more money, IMO he is definately an ally of hicks and gillet, they have messed up our club enough and dont deserve anything from the sale, huang seems like a better candidate to take over but i feel these who have come out to the media are just seeking backing from us fans and are not real and serious bidders with backing, the other 4 or so bids ( according to broughton there are at least 6) to me are the most serious and best solutions in terms of LFC. .

I hope the rumour of the 10 day rule for fit and proper persons test or what ever it is called is true and that infact it was submitted on the 3rd, but is there any chance the club submitted it on behalf of ALL interested partys to find out which of the bidders, if any, pass the test

i find the rumour about joe cole having the name on his back being changed from 'cole' to 'J cole', could we have signed carlton cole? HOPEFULLY NOT! he is not a good player, we could spend 12mil on a better quality striker or one that puts effort into the game. in my opinion bellamy is a beast.

Why does everyone write down a next season team with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Clearly this doesnt work for us so Roy will change it. Please no more rubbish about us using the old formation. Benitez isnt here anymore so neither is the formation. .

People are saying this because Roy played that formation in both europa league games.

This is theturdz speaking
just released from the ruetus news agency think were about to change hands but rbs ready to finance deal havent we been here before or am i wrong?

Royal Bank of Scotland, a major creditor of English soccer club Liverpool Football Club, is supporting the club's sale by offering financing to potential buyers, banking sources familiar with the matter said.

Banking sources said that RBS was discussing financing terms with potential lenders before Friday's bid deadline.

"RBS is trying to facilitate the sale as much as possible and has even offered price talk of 500 basis points (bps) over LIBOR on the potential financing," one of the bankers said.

RBS could not immediately be reached for comment.

Creditors originally asked Liverpool FC's two owners, sports tycoons Tom Hicks and George Gillett, to pay down 100 million pounds ($157.5 million) of its debt of around 250 million pounds.

The two could not make the payment and the debt financing was amended and extended "at least six times" since 2008 before the club was put up for sale in April.

Several Middle Eastern buyers expressed interest but the owners could not agree a purchase price, the bankers said.

Barclays Capital is handling the auction process and bidders have been asked to submit bids with proof of financing on Friday, the bankers said.

The club is expected to fetch a price tag of around 400 million pounds or more, the bankers added.

According to British media reports, as many as six potential parties are looking to buy the 18-times English league champions.

One of those is Chinese-born American businessman Kenny Huang, who is said to have teamed up with China's sovereign wealth fund, China Investment Corp. [ID:nSGE67503F]

Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi said last week he was in the final stages of negotiations to buy Liverpool. ($1=.6350 POUND)

Carra has lost his pace a little and Hodgson feels he may be a liability at times in the centre of defence, but he has always had great positional sense and the ability to read to play, so Hodgson is certain he can fill the 'win the ball, play it simple' role in front of the defence - Thoughts??"

Simon Kjaer signed for Wolfburg on July 8, 2010, so i dont think he will be going anywhere soon.

On another note Fiorentina were looking to loan Mario Bolatti to River Plate this season and Hodgsons interest may convince him to come to Liverpool.

I told you all yesterday that Walter Tamer had hired transport from a company I work for, from Barcelona airport.

So what you will tell us again. Stop wastin ours and your time and try posting something diffrent. Walter Tamer is a tosser who is looking out for number one i hope that masch leaves and ends up as a reserve player like he did at West Ham, then watch him cry. He wont get into the Barca side and I personally think cambiasso is twice the player Masch is and dont think he would make it into the Inter team ethier, well unless of course he get the prefrencial treatment from Rafa. If masch loves Rafa so much then why did he want to leave when rafa was there the simple reason is his missus has his balls in a jar and he has very limited access. Imagine really sorry guys i cant stay as my wife is a lazy whore and wont learn to speak English. Hope she can speak Italian so.
Rant over.

I can only assume this is Bullard's little old mum spreading this rumour as everybody else will agree he is a complete waste of space.

Why does everyone write down a next season team with a 4-2-3-1 formation. Clearly this doesnt work for us so Roy will change it. Please no more rubbish about us using the old formation. Benitez isnt here anymore so neither is the formation. .

well smug nuts if Roy (hope) Hodgeson isint going to play that formation then why do we need anouther defensive midfielder when gerrad can do it we also have aqua and lucas to play in the middle and cole says thats ware he wants to play . Also if what you said is true then why are we looking for cover for nando and not a partner . diffrent players ,diffrent line up so why cant it work

In my opinion Joe Cole should play in a free role in behind Torres, this is his best position and he could start to play like he did as a youngster at West ham. Where i thought he had the world at his feet as a lad, he can dribble, has great skill, can pull defenders out of position, also score a few. In my opinion Joe lost his way at Chelsea playing down the left, where he can't create so much, and goes missing in matches.
So why is it in every team sheet that people have posted on this site has Joe been playing down the left. Then they have put in a big name signing up front with Torres, when Liverpool have signed a world beater in this position.
I think Joe could do a role like Dalgish/Keegan/Beardsley did you liverpool during the glory years.

Note to the ed:
Sorry for posting this twice, but first time i posted it was on the liverpool squad page and there are no believe / unbelieve bottons and just wanted to see what peoples reactions are to my opinion. In future can the banter and squad pages have a believe / unbelieve buttons or a like / unlike buttons?

Daniel pacheco handed no.12 jersey, so no, not a new signing who prefers no.12. if played more, pacheco could do the job a £20m+ striker can do, was brilliant in u19 championships scored a few. bout time he made the jump into starting 11. i also dont understand why there are so many young forwards in reserves and academy that deserve a chance at 1st team football yet its said we have a striker shortage? we never did have a striker shortage. torres, kuyt, babel, ngog, pacheco, dalle valle, nemeth. . the list goes on. ok most arent premiership proven, they were also never given a chance. how can a club develop future talents when they are cast aside for a 'big name' worth 20m+? if david moyes had cast wayne rooney aside in favour of a 'big name' would he be the player he is today? would he be a 'big name'? he was given a chance and flourished. let our young lads have a go. i for 1 wouldn't be surprised if theres a 50m+ player among them in the next few years. .provided of course they are given a chance

Two players coming from Fulham - Danny Murphy (£2m) plus Damian Duff (£3m) - Hodgson originally had a 'gentlemens' agreement with Al Fyed that he would not return to his former club, but since Fyeds comments about him letting the club down, he has no issues.

Both would jump at the move and, if offerd are declined, would force the clubs hand by handing in a transfer request.

Would be good additions

I don't think another quality striker will come in, I think Roy will only look for a back up.

Those who say Torres isn't suited to the Prem and its to hard on him, didn't he pick up most of his injurys on international duty? Proves that we don't need a battering ram to play up alongside him.

That is it i am officially bored of this takeover.
i dont care whos money comes in and buys out the 2 cowboys as long as they ride off into the sunset never to been seen or heard of again.
it appears to me that no-one knows what is happening or who is bidding(or not) and who is more likely to take control so i say we leave it alone and let the next few days/weeks or even months go by when we will finally have the information to pass judgement on wether we feel they are fit to run this great club but for now our team needs support so lets start on sunday against a weakened Arsenal(no Fabregas,no Van Persie) and no strength in defence.lets show the world that as ever the greatest fans in world football get behind there team and show passion and create some noise so all potential buyers realise that this is not just any football club but this is LIVERPOOL.
A good start against the arse and citeh and who knows were uncle Roy can take us this season. To Uncle Roy good luck and welcome to the family YNWA - once a red always a red - be loud,be proud and be read till yer dead is what my grandfather told me and now i ask every Liverpool fan to be the same lets create some noise on sunday and scare arsenal and everyone else who comes to the colloseum and dares take on the mighty reds

Why oh why are people getting excited about signing SWP? The guy can't pass wind let alone a football!!

As for dropping Kuyt for him this has to be the biggest joke of all time!! Every part of Kuyt's game is better then SWP other then pace, but after Great Britians disaster in the 100 metres relay at the european championships this month, there could be a place for him at london 2012!! But not on a football pitch!!

Also Maxi is better then him so if he did join he would be 3 choice right winger!! Could you imagine SWP getting in the Argentina or Holland starting 11? No nor can I!! He can't even get in the England starting 11, and i do believe Argentina and Holland both looked better teams then England at the world cup.

Also SWP has no morels he left Man city where he was loved by the fans for Chelsea and a chance of a quick buck and to go and sit on the bench. Then went back to Man city once they had money to pay his over priced wages to go and sit on there bench again. If he was to come to liverpool he would once again be a bench warmer on stupidly high wages. He is only intrested in money and not loyelity or playing.

Rumours in Turkey state that Turan is on his way to Liverpool - Fee in the region of £12m.

This has come from a good friend who lives in Turkey and watches Turan regularly (season ticket holder) and his opinion is that the transfer would be a disaster for the Reds.

No-one doubts the guy has talent, but he is (apparantly) too light-weight and inconsistant i.e. he can go missing in games .

Liverpool, in my opinion, are not good enough to 'carry' any players, so maybe we should look closer to home - Young (Villa) or Emberton (Blackburn) maybe??

RBS have been looking into the possibility of floating liverpool FC on the London Stock Exchange, (as a last resort)

options
1)The Royal Bank of Scotland, make a tough decision over the future of the club. They can call in their loans – all £250m or so of it – and effectively move Liverpool towards administration, with the threat of a nine point penalty. (unlikely)

2)They can assume control of liverpool, by effectively taking Liverpool as a wholly-owned subsidiary of their business against any defaulted payments.

3) The third option is a sale before the current loans are up for renewal in October, hence all the fevered activity over the past few weeks, as the Americans look to offload their investment while clearing a profit.

Reuters, Tuesday August 10 2010 * Bids with proof of financing due on Friday
* Club expected to fetch 400 million pounds or more
* RBS sounds lenders out on pricing
By Jacqueline Poh
NEW YORK, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Royal Bank of Scotland, a major creditor of English soccer club Liverpool Football Club, is supporting the club's sale by offering financing to potential buyers, banking sources familiar with the matter said.
Banking sources said that RBS was discussing financing terms with potential lenders before Friday's bid deadline.
"RBS is trying to facilitate the sale as much as possible and has even offered price talk of 500 basis points (bps) over LIBOR on the potential financing," one of the bankers said.

whether we get £150 million or £15 million once the takeover is complete i don't think we need to make wholesale changes to the team to put us back in the mix.the team lost its way last season due to injuries to key players and i think the players were fed up with rafas tactics and team selection.
if masch leaves and he looks like he will then why not play gerrard in that position with joe cole playing just behind torres (when fit) stevie has carried this team for too long now and we have become over reliant on him to get us through tough games.its up to the other players to step up and do their bit.some good additions to the team would be
turan
ireland
taiwo
young
but i would love to see bellamy back at anfield he would be cheap,he can score goals, and he plays with passion and always gives 110% when on the pitch,i am sure we could get 2 good seasons out of him.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is monitoring former Sao Paulo defender Aislan who is available on a free transfer after being released by the club.

The Anfield club tried to sign the defender in 2008 but baulked at the £10 million asking price.

The 6ft 4in defender was close to agreeing a new deal at the Brazilian club but instead opted to reject the offer of a new contract and look to find a new club in Europe, with Liverpool confirmed admirers of the talented youngster.

The tall Brazilian defender has reputation for being a commanding ball playing centre-back, who at the age of 22-years-old has been tipped for a big future in the game. Hodgson is looking at adding bodies to his squad and is weighing up a number of defensive options.

The Reds manager is also thought to be looking at Paul Sharner, who is also a free agent having been released by Wigan Athletic.

The Chinese government fund represented by Kenny Huang has spent the past fortnight raising precisely the amount of cash required to finance a bid for Liverpool. Sources have confirmed to Digger that the China Investment Corporation, the sovereign wealth fund to the world's most populous nation, is the organisation being fronted by Huang, who admitted interest in bidding for Liverpool.

In a series of trades since 19 July, CIC has sold $558m of shares in Morgan Stanley, equating to £351.4m. That sum is equivalent to Liverpool's debt to the nearest decimal place, and is exactly the number insiders say has been quoted to interested parties as the sale price.

As quote in the Guardian Newspaper

Reading between the lines, we all know the sale of the club will be completed in time for the club to spend big, but I for one hope we don't !

At this important point in our history, we need stability and need to be looking for the more experienced, (like Poulson, Bridge, Crouch etc) who have proved their worth to their clubs over a long period and, although may not set the premier league on fire, will do a good, consistant job for the reds.

With the potential class we have coming thro (which is the envy of europe), plus a splash of flair players who I believe Hodgson will work wonders with (Cole, Babel etc), we will do well.

So, save the big money for a January special or even next summer and let give experience and our youth a chance.

Would it not be nice to win without buying it ?? - Even if it takes a few seasons?? I know my (and any true fans) preference.

Be patient - Our time will come - The Liverpool way !

I think if Benitez wants Mascherano then he should pay the £40-50 million he valued him at last season, when Barcalona where intrested in him!!
If not we should keep Mascherano, who is without doubt one of the worlds best defensive midfielders

All the publicity surrounding the Kurdi and Huang takeovers has acted as a welcome diversion to a far more credible bid to fly quietly beneath the radar.
Keith Harris is fronting a bid from the Middle East, namely the Al-Thani, family from Qatar. The family see Liverpool FC as the ideal vehicle to demonstrate their ability to deliver a truely world class stadium (totally new design) and add real credence to Qatar's 2022 World Cup bid.
Substantial funds will be made available to Roy Hodgson, who has the Qatari's full backing.
Keith Harris has been collaborating with the Qatari's for nearly six months to prepare the LFC bid.

IT'S TRUE AND ORVILL WILL PLAY DEFENSIVE MID!

keith harris is working on behalf of gillette and hicks, is not head of any consortium the guy even went on tv to say lfc was worth more than 300m, with a united shirt n the background. . . .
cum on boy's we fans are known worldwide for our football knowledge, not for reading one liners from cr*ptalk.

Mascherano to barca 27 million pounds straight cash
Ashley young wants to move back to london spurs to offer 15 million
martin o'neil to be back at parkhead by next season, Neil Lennon already out champs league at first hurdle, sold mcgeady, saviour O'neil defo on the cards
ozil to anfield big shock 11.5 million and Babel or Ngog loaned out for the season the offer is on the table, up to Bremen now

Inter have already stated that they cannot afford Mascherano unless they sell, and that is looking less likely all the time.
Barcelona have announced that they have come to an agreement with Werder Bremen for Ozil, so doubt that one will happen either.

Mascherano looks set to move to Barcelona and will go for half of what Arsenal were looking for Fabregas, which was around 70m

This will give Hodgson around 30 - 35m + around 10m remaining from the board.

I don't think he will buy a left - back until the takeover is complete. He has good cover with Kelly and Aurelio and when the takeover is completed he will go for Cissokho of Lyon for around 15m

Main priorities are another battling midfielder, a striker and maybe a winger + the signing of Jones from middlesborough for home grown quota

Midfielder looks to be poulsen, but, Hodgson has been looking at Defour and Mario Bolatti from fiorentina. Contemplated scott parker but west ham will not sell. Same with cattermole at sunderland.

The Striker being brought in will not be crouch as tottenham want 15m. Carlton Cole is a possibility at 12m. Loic Remy will sign for either spurs, west ham or sunderland who want to replace kenwyne jones who is going to stoke. May try a sneaky bid of 20 - 25m for Fabiano but is unlikely. If takeover is completed in time, hodgson will try for Suarez but I don't think the takeover will be completed plus it will be hard to get these players without champions league football, so it will most likely be carlton cole

A winger may be brought in to add a bit more pace to the team. Ben arfa will not be brought in as he is not good enough and is a troublemaker. Arda Turan is a possibility for around 12 - 14m and would be a good buy. Shaun Wright Phillips is the most likely as he is relatively cheap at 7m and Roy is notorious for getting the best out of his players so this would be a good buy. If a takeover is completed Roy Hodgson will move for Ashley Young for 20m which is ridiculous for someone who is 25 and cannot get in the England squad. I think Young will go to tottenham though over the next two weeks.

So most likely:

out:
Masch 35m

in:
poulsen 5m
C Cole 12m
SWP 7m/ Turan 12 - 14m

I've heard that Kenny Huang is hoping for the fans help to push his bid through, he has all the intentions to make Liverpool the richest and most powerful club in the world!! He doesn't want to pay the Yanks anything as he doesn't feel they deserve anything! He has up'd his bid so the Yanks make a small profit but he has made all this public to get the fans on board with him, I'm with Huang all the way and don't think we are doing enough as fans, we need to protest before outside Anfield and at the Arsenal game show the board who we want!! I am seriously worried that if Kirdi gets in charge he will be no better than the Yanks!

Hi, I have been told from a freind of Steven Gerrard that Liverpool are pushing for a swap deal with barcelona with Masherano for Ibrahinovic and Hleb. Any thoughts guys?

10 Aug 2010 16:29:54
Are there any rumours about LFC showing interest in Darren Bent? He's a proven top premiership goalscorer despite being in a mid-ranking team. Sod Remy and Balotelli, and the other unproven or inconsistent strikers- Bent WILL deliver goals, and that will enable us to win lots of football matches. Am I missing something? Why arent we interested? Has he got leprosy, or what?

Craig Bellamy has just tld ssn that he is so desperate he may consider retiring if he does not make the city 25 man squad. He can play wings and strike would be a great buy cumon Roy don't let droopy old redknapp take all the British quality!

In some shock news coming out of Anfield is that Mesut Ozil is in line to make a £15 million transfer to Liverpool. Javier Mascherano will be sold to Barcelona as they are seeking a defensive midfielder. Christian Poulsen is expected to complete his £5.5 million transfer this week and Carlton Cole will sign for £11 million.

Afternoon Redmen,

All this talk of a take over and riots along with protests are amazing me all that you are doing is playing the game that has been opened for you by these fools Kirdi will not and has not never has ever had enough backing or clout to carry this through, he like many others are dining out on the name of LFC and this has to stop. .

By the very nature of his line of work both investment and venture capital money making schemes it relies at times on getting your name out there and keeping it there, as well as helping out an old friend at the same time- Gillet.

Old Kenny aint any better lads so chill out the main bids are from Kuwait and india respectivly and i am aware Sahara have pulled out,

We have gone reletivly quiet on the transfer front because of this purslow the rat and broughton the pied piper are spending all there time on owners all moneys gained by LFC are held as this process takes due cause even sales like mashcherano will not happen until its sealed

So the quieter the better.

To who ever said this :

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the 'Homegrown quota' and how players can qualify for this quota. Let me clear this up.

A homegrown player is defined as a player who, irrespective of his age or nationality has been registered to a club affiliated with the Football Association (FA) or the Football Association of Wales (FAW) for a period, continuous or not, of 3 entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season to which he turns 21).

To put it simply, a player must have played for an English or Welsh club for at least 3 years between the ages of 18 and 21.
This is why Emiliano Insua and Dani Pacheco, despite being Argentinian and Spanish respectively can qualify as homegrown as they have been registered to Liverpool for 3 years before either has turned 21

Its not 3 years inbetween 18 - 21 its 15 - 21

10 Aug 2010 14:54:13
Right. .this is just my idea on who I think we should buy, they will be reasonable priced and will do alot for the team I think
DARRENT BENT-scored over 20goals last season, english, wont be that expensive and can play alongside torres or as a back up.
KEVIN PRINCE BOATENG-I dont know if he still plays for portsmouth but if he still does, he will be a good addition to the team as I thought he played well for Ghana in world cup.
ARDA TURAN-been linked with him for a while and is a very good winger and can do some damage. He can score goals and can cross decent balls for torres to bang them in the back of the net :)

Thats what I think is a very good additions but I know it wont happen YNWA

I'm lost as to why clubs are going crazy over Ashley Young. Let's face it; 18m for a player that didn't make the WC squad is unrealistic.

Also 30m for Milner is ridiculous.

I'd like to see Banega instead of Poulsen.

With regards to the ownership, I'm not too hopeful for Yahya, only due to his connection with the YANKS, but I still trust the board to make the right decision for our beloved club. Poulsen is a decent player, he can do a good job for us, if nothing else he adds depth. I don't think we'll buy another striker, I'd love Agbonlahor but just can't see it happening, Jovanovic will be a top signing, his heart is where it should be, with Liverpool. YNWA!

Why would you think that any of us care about your dream team mate. We all enjoy fantasies about which superstars are coming to our club or even on football manager. Great fun! But, this is a rumours site and all you've done is ask our opinion on your imagination. Waste of time.

RUMOURS:-

Chirstian Poulsen is due to complete a medical over the next 24 hours, ahead of signing a three year contract. - I actually think it's a shrewd bit of business for €5 million or close, especially if we sell Mascherano to Inter/Barca. He's an experienced campaigner, good quality and Roy knows what he can do from his time at Grasshoppers so not sure I agree with the pessimism towards him signing. We'll get £25+ for Masch and with the profit left over after the Poulsen deal, we can add to the squad.

Carlton Cole has been linked with Liverpool this morning - Is he actually any good though - before Zola came to West Ham he was falling over his own feet -Average at best. Hodgson doesn't fancy Loic Remy, or so it seems, would have surely put a bid in before now. Sky Sports are linking us with Youssef el-Arabi who plays for Caen in France - unknown quantity but surely can't offer much more than N'gog. Good to see Pacheco commit himself to Liverpool but he looks better in a support striker role.

I would love to see Arda Turan sign from Turkey, great on both wings, eye for goal and a life long Liverpool supporter. Dalglish rates him apparently but yet to be seen if Roy fancies him.

We need additional fire power up front because as good as he is, Torres isn't going to be fully fit for the whole season and at this rate he's going to miss the start.

Obviously most of us agree that a left back and back up striker is a priority. Aurelio is hardly ever fit, insua's naive but Kelly is looking a good in the few games he's played.

I think buying Paul Konchesky would be a waste of time - would rather see the money sent of Salcido from PSV - looked great in the world cup but getting on a bit now and wouldn't cost a great deal.

Everyone talking about Sergio Aguero - In reality this isn't going to happen before any potential takeover and we may be a good three months away from the new owners coming in. Interview on Talk Sport this morning suggested that another perspective buyer is only half way through due diligence of a six month process and hasn't publicly declared his interest.

Kenny Huang and the Syrian bid are losing a bit of credibility by being so open about their proposals and the latter seems to be a mere puppet of the American duo who have brought the club to its knees.

I agree in the most part, better times ahead of the Reds but it's not going to be done and dusted by the weekend.

Barcelona will move forward to purchase Mascherano. The good news is that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will join Liverpool as part of the deal.

Torres and Ibrahimovic will no doubt form the best attack in premier league.

"Panic at the Taco Bell?"
Well a crossover of titles, but maybe there's panic in the boardroom at Anfield?

Reading between the lines it appears that Martin Broughton may have been outflnaked by H & G in what will prove to be very unpalatable for the fans. If the Syrian bid is really a stalking horse, then like Del Boy and Rodney trying to push up the price of goods at auction, H & G may well be looking at a very nice profit (thank you!) courtesy of some very legitimate, legal and alleged (notice the smart words there . .) work behind the scenes.

We will be powerless to prvent this happening. DO NOT and I say again, DO NOT look to the cadre of criminal clowns at the FA nor the Premier League blazers to be in the least bit interested. That is until the mention of money and then the PL clowns may well sit up and take notice.

Martin Broughton was brought onboard by H & G to see through (a Freudian slip there!) the business of a sale. It appears he maybe emasculated (stripped of any power he probably never had to start with) and that has been made evident by the last few hours. If H & G can veto anything the board wants and have their own way, then why bother with a board and with getting Broughton in?

It may be that MB is H & G's man and really appreciates what they want. If that is true, then he will leave the club (with a nice legitmate payment) immediately we have been sold down (sorry, sold) to the next group of wiseguys.

I fear the CIC bid will not happen. I don't know that, I have no inside knowledge and I don't know anyone involved with the club. But, what I do know, is that we have been hinting this sort of thing might happen for the past 12 months.

Take note of this please: if Martin Broughton fails to land the club into the arms of a group/investors/individual that will benefit the club and do what they promise, then he will have destroyed his credibility in the business world, angered the majority of LFC fans and proved how rotten the business side of the game is.

My fear is that the sale will go through this weekend and that it will be Syria rather than China that we will be looking at. There will be a delay in authorising funds to build the squad and that figure will be very much reduced from the ludicrous £150 m quoted in the media. By the time we have sold the club and start to realise what a shock it will be (with Syrian owners) it will be too late to push on with 2-3 big money signings. We should then be mired in fifth or sixth place in the PL and wondering why Mancini is still in a job (O'Neill looking over his shoulder) with just one win from six games.

10 Aug 2010 13:56:36

A guy called Keith Harris did an interview which is still on the SkySports site, where he claims to be linked to a bidder who has so far kept their silence.
The worrying thing about his backers, whoever they are, is Keith's stated view that Rafa was given plenty of money but didnt spend wisely.
Ok, the spending wisely part is an argument that could go on all year, but who really thinks that in his last two seasons he was given enough transfer money? If Harris' backers really believe that a club can seriously compete for the premiership with the funds Rafa was given towards the end, they are clearly deluded, and Broughton needs to check their commitment to squad development.
Huang may be indiscreet, but at least he seems to understand that LFC have some catch-up spending to do, if they want to get the squad strength and depth onto a par with the other top clubs. He seems to understand that our aiming point should not be a top 4 place, but the top spot itself.

Time for a reality check guys.We shouldn't get too excited about a takeover happening before the Arsenal game on Sunday. The truth about business deals on this scale is that they take ages once the Lawyers get involved and even longer if one of the parties wants to squeeze every last penny out of the buyer (now who could that be?) I suspect the present Board will have differing opinions with H & G wanting to bleed the club dry and maybe even keeping some sort of control - remember the rumours about creaming off a percentage of future club profits and having involvement in the new stadium build?
Will Broughton, Purslow and Ayre vote for the best
H & G deal or the best for the Club - reputations are at stake here and theirs are far more important than H & G's. Make the wrong decision and they will never work again.
We may have to wait until October when H & G's backs are to the wall before we can celebrate so sit back and enjoy this season and sing like we did against Chelsea in 2005.

I bugged the room where the Liverpool board where deciding on the new owners and they say that Kirdi is front runner and he is willing to invest 30m for transfers, build a stadium and clear the debt basicallly.

Maybe an actual left back.

Dani Alves was a right back last time I saw him play.

10 Aug 2010 13:33:46
Just heard masch is officially for sale !
Lfc rate him at 16.7m to barca ! What a jerk amount, we paid 18m for him. If he goes for that amount then, something is wrong at the club.
Also, i think we missed on diego of juve who is poised for wolfsburg for 13m !

Pray for the good, in God we trust

Blood is 'red' for a reason

10 Aug 2010 13:32:22
Man Citeh are clearly stalling on the Balotelli purchase as it prevents Inter buying Mascherano, which in turn prevents us from making our "marquee" signing of the close season. How very unsportsmanlike!

10 Aug 2010 13:18:43
I believe that both bids from kirdi and huang are doomed to fail and that there is only one viable bid on the table. Cast your mind back to last week when Broughton said there would be no decision for 10 days (coincidently the same amount of time you have to register with the premier league before taking ownership). Bearing this in mind and the premier league coming out on the same day and saying that there had only been one application for approval as ownership regarding LFC, that this is in fact the new to be owners of the club and niether of the other 2 clowns with money in the clouds along with their pipe dreams. I believe that this will be a single owner not a consortium and will be an Arab prince.

10 Aug 2010 13:18:13
Could anyone tell me how much money Kirdi and Huang would be willing to put into the club?

10 Aug 2010 13:04:59
I thought that Hicks and Gillet had no say on who the buyer would be and this decision was down to Broughton and Purslow on who was a more viable option for the future of LFC, and not the pockets of the 2 yanks.
I believe Kirdi is there purely to try and bump up the price so at least the wanks er yanks get some oil out of the deal.
Kenny Huang? not sure of yet. I do hope there is the silent bid that has been banded around as he, or even she, seem to have more integrity and not get involved in the paper rounds (if this bid exists).

10 Aug 2010 12:55:30
To everyone saying they have close links to the club and good sources- - my source is an ex league winning captain at Liverpool and even he says no one knows what is exactly happening with regards the takeover, only that there is more than just kirdi that is serious and close. Apparently the publicity that is being drummed up by kirdi is putting the board off ( well, except for the yanks ). The only info he can give me is that one of the groups has spoke to a couple of ex-red legends about coming on board in the boardroom to give a good perspective on how to run liverpool and aparently this is impressing people at the club.

News from a source within the club that Masch is on the move, but not to inter or Barca, but to Juve.

The deal will include the sum of £5m plus Brazilian playmaker Diego

Complete within the next 10 days

10 Aug 2010 12:51:35
Hey all, first time posting here. Am going to try and sound a little bit realistic.

Mascherano will be offloaded to Inter soon, if Balloletti from Inter goes to Man City, Kuyt could be following up to Inter as well.

But what I don't understand is why should Liverpool by Carlton Cole when we will get a load of money from Mascherano. We would have a good 35 million to spend, so why not spend on a class premiership proven striker.

I expect Wright-Phillips to be coming to us, which could be of more proof that Kuyt will leave Anfield this season.

In reply to to the following

(Aurelio has changed numbers from 12 to 6. Does any know if any of Liverpools transfer targets prefer the number 12)

Dani Pacheco has been given Number 12, good news I think, it probably means hes in Roy's plans.

Does anyone know anything about Loic Remy or have any information/rumours on other forwards we are linked with as we need a forward that can play alonside and back up torres.

10 Aug 2010 12:33:15
With O'neil's resignation from Aston Villa, Spurs is taking the chance to renew their bid of 18m for dazzler - Ashley Young.

I say, why don't we get him with the money we get if we sell J.Mascherano?

He is one good winger for Liverpool. Somemore he is an English player.

I don't think we need another striker - Dani Pacheco has shown what he can do in U19 Euro and so is Ngog who scored 03 goals in the UEFA.

So use the money on Young.

Then with the remaining money, buy a good LB.

Either Maicon or Daniel Alves. Who can be better than them?

There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the 'Homegrown quota' and how players can qualify for this quota. Let me clear this up.

A homegrown player is defined as a player who, irrespective of his age or nationality has been registered to a club affiliated with the Football Association (FA) or the Football Association of Wales (FAW) for a period, continuous or not, of 3 entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season to which he turns 21).

To put it simply, a player must have played for an English or Welsh club for at least 3 years between the ages of 18 and 21.
This is why Emiliano Insua and Dani Pacheco, despite being Argentinian and Spanish respectively can qualify as homegrown as they have been registered to Liverpool for 3 years before either has turned 21.

So, to the guy who said this.

10 Aug 2010 11:03:47
Why pay 12mill for cole when keirsson is valued at that price on hing i can think of is the homegorwn rule

Keirrison is undoubtedly a great talent and we were linked to him a few years ago. However, he would not qualify as homegrown. Keirrison cannot be classed as homegrown as he has never been registered to a club affiliated to the FA or FAW.

Liverpool to bid 22 million for ashley young

10 Aug 2010 12:24:26
So Masch to Inter happening if funds created for Rafa to purchase him. This apparently possible if Balotelli to City happens. That means Poulsen would be sensible to replace as DCM. Can't see Inter selling anyone else for significant value.

Aurelio re-signed and Insua not sold and there is M. Kelly. Getting a left back a top priority still? Unless Roy has no confidence in Insua at all (understandable)

Striker I would have thought would be top priority if funds are tight. . .
Carlton Cole (has been injry prone) to add to Torres, Cole, Aquilani, Agger and Aurelio could see Roy use the Liverpool squad a lot more extensively than we hoped. .

10 Aug 2010 12:22:41
Liverpool are supposedly looking at a straight swap of mascherano for zlatan ibrahimovich.
Is there any truth in the rumour?

10 Aug 2010 12:20:04
LIVERPOOL TRANSFERS:

As i said over a week ago, Masch will not be joining Inter and instead will move to Barca. Roy and the Reds value Mascherano at £30mil minimum and Rafa was unwilling to pay that - even though he himself rated him at 50mil!

Masch is a monster and a great CDM but if his heart isnt with LFC, then he needs to go. 30mil fee will be agreed- when you think Alonso went for 30m and he was 29, Masch is only 26 and one of a handful of World Class CDM, Captain of Argentina.

Masch out - 30m (Barca have to pay more than they sold Yaya Toure for)

Liverpool will then go back for one last 8m bid for Scott Parker - or settle for Poulsen for 5mill.

The rest will be on a striker- bit of a suprise though!. . not Aguero, not Carlton Cole, not Crouch but Agbonlahor 12m. . pace to burn, homegrown only 23 and less injury prone to carlton cole.

That will leave at least 10 mil plus previous cash sales and the transfer kitty for Roy to use as he wishes.

We have a board at Liverpool who are trying thier best for Liverpool F.C. AND THEY WILL THIS TIME. They have appointed Roy Hodgson to take the club forward, don't think they will allow someone to take over and just sack people. Despite what people claim to know ? The only people who know about the decision on the clubs future is the 5 board members Purslow Broughton etc. not even the bidders know ? they can release as many statements as they like ? the decision is not for them to make. NOBODY AT THE CLUB KNOWS ANYTHING ? Only the 5 board members know.Unless someone on this site has bugged the room, and it won't be long before someone claims to have ??

10 Aug 2010 12:15:28
Hi all.if i remember correctly from the begining of all the takover talk, it came out that yayha kirdi was an international player for syria.surely a owner with experience of football will understand our passion and pride towards our club.seeing he has played football he is surely not going to sack rh within a couple of bad results.he is surely the sort of owner we want, someone with experiences of playing for a team/country.lets get behind him and hope he doesnt mess us about(im sure he wont)

dude you need to do a little more research on Kirdi he was a young international player for Syria never part of the senior team, he has never played football outside of Syria so really this whole thing about him being a football person is rubbish, I played under 16 South African rubgy but dont consider myself a Rugby man as i never went further then that! Kirdi is connected to Gillett which is something most fans dont want anything to do with the two Knobs! no one has any information regarding his backers, and every time something comes out about him it gets proven that its a lie, smoke and mirrors this guy so in a short he would not be a great owner, why is it that only Gillett and Hicks think he is good for he is offering them more money!

To the person who wrote this.
There is a major split with the board over the takeover deal. The board have control over who takes over with all acceptable deals going straight to the board which consists of Tom Hicks, George Gillett, Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre. Each board member will have one vote each which means one consortium will get a majority vote and therefore take control of the club. Now here is where the split comes. The consortium fronted by Yayha Kirdi is most attractive to Hicks and Gillett as they will gain profit out of the club through the sale to this consortium. Also, there is a bit of controversy regarding this deal as the Gillett family have links to Yayha Kirdi. The other remaining members of the board feel that Kenny Huang's consortium is the most lucrative and best for the club as there is a sporting connection with Huang's past projects and there is evidence of significant funds available to take the club forward.
Now, I have also been told that if Kirdi takes control, they are not interested in investing in Liverpool for the long run. They will want to clear the debt, remain debt free, build the stadium and then sell up. They would make significant profit if another buyer was found due to these factors. Whereas Kenny Huang has promised to invest heavily in the squad and insisting Liverpool would be one of the biggest spenders in the transfer window, Kirdi has refused to comment of funding available for transfers. There is no evidence of his financial backing and how much they would be willing to give the manager for squad strengthening.
I am obviously a Liverpool fan and have a strong source linked to the club and from what I have been told about the background of each consortium, I will be extremely worried if Kirdi and his consortium take control. They have even refused to commit to the current management staff. Lets just hope Huang and his wealthy consortium with sporting interest take control. Nothing will be done before Sunday either.

YOU CLAIM TO HAVE A SOURCE AT LIVERPOOL AND SOMEHOW SEEM TO KNOW MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE,WHICH I FIND HIGHLY UNLIKELY,AND WHY SHOULD THEY ANNOUNCE A SPENDING BUDJET ? THEN YOU WOULD HAVE EVERY TEAM AND AGENT ASKING OVER THE ODDS FOR THIER PLAYERS. READ THE LIVERPOOL ECHO MATE YOU WILL GET MORE INFO FROM THEM.

Right first thing first, let's get a couple of things straight. As much as I'd want it to happen, I highly doubt that the takeover process would happen before the closing of the transfer window. Especially because negotiations are bound to take longer than anticipated. Let us not forget that Huang's offer would mean that H&G would both have to leave without a profit, which from experience we can all tell is something they would discard. RBS can put pressure on G&H but that would imply that Huang would have to come forward with a concrete offer; which is yet to materialise. Also, let's not get too carried away with all the Huang hype. Just because someone comes out and says he will be backing us with 150m to boast on the squad does not necessarily mean its true. I hope you have not forgotten that is what the Americans said too. I don't mean to be sour, but the offers from all parties need to be studied carefully. I expect no 'major signings' to be made before the end of the transfer window. Poulsen is definitely joining us. (expected to have a medical today). RH stated that a striker is his next priority though I highly doubt he'd spend 10m+ on carlton cole. Expect to see remy or huntelaar, if RH can work a deal with their respective clubs.

10 Aug 2010 11:42:04

Although i think roy is a great manager and i think mascherano is a money grabbing traitor but still a great defensive mid[no matter how much you hate him you cant deny it] and we are replacing him with a 30 year old who cant make a now poor juve team because our former player sissiko[who is also useless] is keeping him out.
would it not be a better idea to invest in younger more talented replacements for mascherano. its not like we will be tied for cash cos we will get at least £25m off him. there is plenty of both foreign and english youngsters to replace him:
foreign: banega, defour, martinez, gago, diarra, moussa sissoko
english: cattermole, huddlestone, rodwell[unlikely but you would never know!]

If Starting a Riot to get the attention of bidders is the mentality of a few Liverpool fans then I suggest they get as far away from Anfield as possible, this thuggery is not the Liverpool way and I for one would be disgusted if this materialises, typical fans letting there heart rule there head. I Believe that H&G are playing the game to try and increase there back pockets, So I say to all Liverpool fans lets wiat and see. the modern day buisness men are not stupid and can identify when they are being strong along.

10 Aug 2010 10:49:59
No Rumours just observation:

Liverpool set to sign poulsen, so masch leaving.

We need a LB and a striker, so expect liverpool to sign a LB and a Striker, the striker should be preferably proven in the EPL or proven, no Remy.

With the above 2 signed i wouldn't expect any more signings unless roy gets an absolute bargain. We DON'T have the money.

I would also like to see Babel get one more oppertunity under roy, he is quick and strong and think he needs some guidance.

Also to people saying Kuyt is useless, the man has an unbeleivable work rate and is pure honesty, he also pops up with some very important goals.

Finally, really looking forward to seeing Auiqilani this year, he will be like a new signing and seems to be a good player if he can keep fit.

With all things considered, i think the squad looks in good shape to contend for the top 4, lets not get carried away with winning leagues! but we do need a striker. Hope roy brings some stability and honesty and workrate from the squad.

Can someone help me out, I finding it hard to get any kind of info on the Kirdie (spelling)/Canadian takeover - who are the Canadians?, do they have $$$? I know they are the preferred option of H&G which isn't a good thing!!

People seem to forget that as well as Huang, there is another secret bidder who will not come forward, they think Huangs bid is way undervalued.

: Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has insisted that signing Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano is not able to take place "at the moment" because of transfer restrictions. "If we do not sell, we do not buy," he said.

Right. . .few things to consider,

Ashley Young, James Milner and the big o'neill saga

O'neil left because Milner and Young are being sold to Man citeh and spurs respectively, and he was only promissed at most, half of the incoming transfer funds to rebuild the squad. So enough with the young and milner to liverpool.

All of a sudden huang is a legend? all he has done is tried to use the fans to gain favour and therefore pressurise the board into accepting his offer, lot's have been blinded by the 150m transfer pot claims,he is said to offer Roy,(how's that for your first faux pas? tell the world how much transfer funds we have!¬!) and now theres the "spirit of shankley" meeting. . he's backed by cic, then not , then a couple of cic members??? wtf

kirdi another one who is trying to gain favour by using the media and fans, i am just sick of it all, if both of these suiters were adamant that they want to move liverpool fc forward and in turn make a profit and build a new stadium, why are they whoaring it about with the media and the fans, ?? now i know, and understand about fan support and not wanting to fall into a situation that the yanks did, were they got told just what the fans think everytime they came near, but to come out and say your friends with hicks and gillette KIRDI's mistake, and HUANG with his 150M transfer funds (instead of) " A sizable amount" will only have teams putting up the prices on their players if the reds show an interest. . . . .

for me i hope neither of these groups take over my club, as they have both already made huge mistakes and they don't even own the club yet.

If jose mourinho cant stop his sound of gerrard,we must ask him for another gerrard to replace our gerrard'S position rather than trying to earn 35million from his sale because gerrard is the worlds most completed footballer. with great skills, with a brave heart, with good ledership skills, with nice outlook.Gerrard is the most completed footballer!

Hi all.if i remember correctly from the begining of all the takover talk,it came out that yayha kirdi was an international player for syria.surely a owner with experience of football will understand our passion and pride towards our club.seeing he has played football he is surely not going to sack rh within a couple of bad results.he is surely the sort of owner we want, someone with experiences of playing for a team/country.lets get behind him and hope he doesnt mess us about(im sure he wont)

Poulsen signing for Liverpool within the next week.

Degen has gone on loan to Stuttgart.

Insua staying. . could see a back up player like Konchesky, but no one too big and expensive.

Looking for another forward before transfer closes, Remy is still in contact, Crouch and Cole look likely. .

. .and on the SWP deal, Hodgson will only sign if cheap.

10 Aug 2010 09:22:40
Yet again mass panic and over reaction has taken hold of some reds fans reacting to sky sports reports that have no real basis or fact behind them. Meanwhile skybet rakes in the cash of the naive and confused. All the hatred towards kirdi is fuelled by the same dirty rags who have recently claimed Pepe is off to Arsenal. it's all b*oll@ks, information that is significant comes from the club or lfc.tv. . Capeesh!

Kenny huang has made contact with the supporters group 'spirit of shankly - share liverpool fc'. This is a very clever move to speak to supporters and shows he is both serious and very very smart. Roll on the good times. Expect a new stadium, no debt and new world class players!!

I avent really heard of this poulsen dude but iam just wonderin iz e any good coz i eint gonna be that happy if its another flop for liverpool.

and i would love 2 c agbonlaor, young, right-phillips and arda turan at the club. ."

Never savage your own they say, but I prefer it if my fellow fans are not shaven-headed, spell like they were 12 and believe that the only 'true fans' are the ones that go every week, drink vast amounts of lager and suggest we should buy players that we are NEVER in the hunt for! Not that this guy does, but really, check your facts mate.

You don't have to be the world's most knowledgeable fan, but check the web and see what the player is about before you post.

I would agree with Ada Turan, but in reality, what we want and get are usually different. I am not impressed with the racist comments about Arabs and the nu*mber o* fou* wo*rd* th*t are used now on th* site. Grow up guys!

This is a great opportunity this year to show that we are still the club with passionate supporters. We are all different, but don't tar me and others with the same brush - the one that highlights us as foul-mouthed yobs. Not one of us is special in the eyes of other fans. We are ALL supporters, even the guy with the thick glasses, ill-fitting suit and bad haircut that drinks red wine in the bar before the game and pores every game and pores over the programme on his own in the stand. He is as passionate and as important as ANY of the rest of us.

Still a great site; still interesting, but lots of posts are slipping into the mindless abuse and stratospheric wishing that will NEVER come true.

It may be amusing, or you may find it annoying, or you may enjoy it, but can I suggest a ban on the following (said and written with a sense of humour!):

1. "I know for a fact . . "
2. "I know someone who works at Melwood/Anfield . ."
2. "Saw . . . . . in Tesco/Asda/pub/garage . ."
4. "I would like to see . . . " (Try the cinema or SKY for that!)
5. "We need . . . " (A million things but we'll never get them in life!

Finally, my observation is that Carlton Cole would suit Torres and possibly SG. His size and strength if deployed as a lone frontman, would enable him to hold up the ball for those two to run onto. Then again, only a 'real' fan could pass judgement on that!

10 Aug 2010 07:50:20
It seems that roy the man would like to sign a striker before the arsenal game. Loic Remy would not be a posibility as it seems he would be signing for spurs.
And liverpool have turned their attentions to carlton cole, having been told that crouch would cost 15 million.

Juventus have been trying to extend the loan period.

Hodgson will sign Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor for 35m in total. With O'Neill gone, Villa are ready to let go of their star assets so they can balance the books. Along with Poulsen and Jones, Hodgson will also complete a deal for Paul Konchesky for 3.5m.

Hull city are desperate to off load Jimmy Bullard.Roy hodgson know of his talents and how to use him on the pitch. Could he end up at liverpool with his former manager on a Pay-as-Play deal as hull try to get wage bill down.

I see alot people talkin about the takeover which i agree Kenny huang should take Liverpool over . But I don't see alot of transfer talk. I think Liverpool should sign a Striker back up to torres. Last year we didn't have any fire power when Nando was injured.(team Struggled) and I think Liverpool should try and get Shuan Wright Phillips and a Left Back my Opinion should be Stephen Warnock or Wayne Bridge. Has anyone hearad about the Paulson transfer . Sources coming from
Denmark that he has pulled out of National Squad to completea medical and terms on Wednesday.

This statement was put out on Liverpool Echo at 00.15 tonight;

Liverpool FC fans group Spirit of Shankly and ShareLiverpoolFC welcome possible takeover by Chinese entrepreneur Kenny Huang
LIVERPOOL Supporters Union Spirit Of Shankly and ShareLiverpoolFC have cautiously welcomed a possible takeover by Chinese entrepreneur Kenny Huang after being contacted directly by his representatives.
Spirit Of Shankly and ShareLiverpoolFC ( SOS-SL) indicated that, as far as they were aware, no other would-be buyer has made any attempts to connect with organised Liverpool supporters.
A spokesperson for SOS-SL commented: "It is significant that we're hearing directly from representatives of the China bid and we cautiously welcome it.
"We have a very clearly defined agenda and would be happy to meet and discuss our aims in detail with them.
"Of course, we do not, and would not, endorse any particular bid without detailed discussions and negotiation."
There will probably be a demonstration and hopefully that will sway the decision in favor of Kenny Huang.

Rumour has it (long shot, I admit) that there will be some sort of atmosphere at Anfield this season! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lets get back to the good old days when we showed our support for the team from the terraces rather than showing our hatred of rich owners who are doing their best to ruin us. The rest of the country are pi* sing themselves laughing at our troubles. Make Anfield a place where the opposition dread to come. not where they think it will be an easy 3 points. SUPPORT THE TEAM!

We aren't hooligans. A "riot" will not benefit anyone except ruin our reputation and scare off investors.

None of us even know what is going on, I think we are all jumping the gun a bit. However I believe a peaceful protest may be in order.

Allthough the rumours of the syrian takeover of LFC are beginning to gather pace, I hope that the syrians stay well away from LFC.
Hicks and Gillet are now looking at how much money they can make from the sale of the club and they do not care if the club falls into the wrong hands.

The last thing I want to see is Hodgson sacked by Februrary because this can happen if skunk rich, arabian billionares start to mess with the club.

Lets not be discouraged by some of the signings we have got so far. Some people do not have alot of confidence in Poulsen, but he is a more than decent player and Roy Hodgson will surely get the best out of him as he has done in the past with other players.

Lets hope SWP signs for Liverpool. This will add a new dimension to the Liverpool team on the right wing that was rarely or never been present under benitez.

Great to see Aurelio back, another player that has the potential to rediscover himself under Hodgson.

Maby a few more signings before the window closes and LFC could have a very balanced team, any suggestions. .

Not one of tommorow's back pages of the tabloids i've seen have anything about the Kirdi Takeover announcement not one.

Surely a story as big as thr LFC Takeover would be even bigger than the O'Neil story it's not even in the Star!

It just show's you how seriously even the sh*tty tabloids are treating the Kirdi announcement.

They are treating it with contempt!

Liverpool fans must do all they can to stop any takeover by Kirdi. Kirdi's consortium has been put into the running by Tom Hicks and George Gillet who have a number of connections to the consortium hence why the two yanks only see the sale of the club as a one horse race and have dismissed Kenny Huang's interest.

Lets just hope Huang approaches RBS before the Yanks get their way and make a profit for doing nothing at all.

Hey guys hope this gets posted cause this is an interesting fact from an ex youth player at Aston Villa which will affect Liverpool.

MON quit today as he was told no player will be sold over his head by Randy (another lying American)! This was 1 of the reasons why he didnt leave Villa for Liverpool when Rafa was sacked!

Milner and A. Young want to leave but MON was desperate to keep them as you can understand.

A bid for Milner from Man City has been accepted but he does want to sign for Liverpool but lets face it what ever takeover goes through we aint gonna pay 30m for him!

Dont be surprised to see a bid from Liverpool for A Young and Warnock though within the next few days as now MON has left there will be an exodus of players especially if Bob Bradley is appointed!

Even a shock bid for Carew could be on the cards but i think Warnock is a def to rejoin as he is a HG Liverpool player and young wud be awesome on either wing!
