ED , read an article there about liverpool making a bid for bojan krkic and sergio canales in the summer.
any truth ED and if so do you think we could have a chance of getting them? please respond {ed's note - there is a chance of Bojan, he is surplus at Barca, they have other youngsters coming through. But Canales is more than likely pie in the sky right now.}

Eds,

I know all this Reina talk is being well drawn out by the press. .but regarding his so called buy out clause (20mill), if a team comes in with an offer of 20mill does it take the ownership of the player off the club and allow a transfer to go through - depending on personal terms etc?
Great site by the way,

Kside Red {ed's note - it depends on what the clause says, it may say we have to accept a bid of that amount, or it could just say that the player has to be informed of a bid of that amount.}

We are defenitley interested in; Fabio Coentrao, Ashley Young, Eden Hazard, Arda Turan, Ever Banega and Charlie Adam. I expect bids to be made for all of these players but only one of Young and Turan will be signed (although I think Turan is 1st choice).

Expect the following players to be sold; Poulsen, Konchesky, Jovanovic, Joe Cole, Krygiakos(released), Aquilani, Degen, El Zhar etc.

Pepe Reina will not leave! He is not thick, he can see the ambitions NESV have and the direction the club is going in.

Finally, Pacheco will not leave. Kenny will give him game time in the Europa league and Possibly teams like Wigan, West Brom, Blackburn etc. Also expect Suso and Robinson to be in the squad soon (possibly wigan).

Any truth in this Ed? {ed's note - most of this is common knowledge and opinion from what I can see.}

Reina to London because the alonso, Torres, Reina family clan is all but gone in liverpool. The London life has pull more Manchester and he will have more friends there.
Adam will come in, young is 50/ 50 as utd are interested. Other targets from holland, Belgium, German and French leagues not Spain as really only city and Chelsea can afford their wages after tax issue (unless young players on low wages)

Liverpool fc
King kenny is defintly hoping to sign;Fabio Coentrao, Eden Hazard, Arda Turan, Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez, Christian Erikson and Karim Benzema.
KK will hope to place bids on all of these players but not sur if we will get them all.
In my opinion we only need Coentrao, Hazard, Shanchez, Erikson and Benzema but will cost loads and hopefully we get a good amount form the investment owners

Liverpool will try hard for Ashley Young in the summer.
There could also be some interest in Adam Johnson, but because he is at Man city, he could be hard to sign.

10 Feb 2011 19:46:17
Joe Cole to rejoin West Ham in the summer if they avoid relegation
Ashley Young to Liverpool 10m as his contract expires in 2012

Not sure why such a big fuss over Reina. He will stay. GK's can play at the top level way into their 30's. He knows with NESV in charge we will be challenging on all fronts next season. With our debt removed and so many other clubs in financial difficulty, LFC will be a top attraction next season. Mark my words.

Nando only left cause he realises he is no longer the player he was when he signed (injuries) and he wanted a last big pay day imo.

If we had to look at a keeper, Schmeichel Jnr is muturing nicely imo. Ed, thoughts on both comments please.

RED fan SA

{Editor's Note: I have the gut feeling that Reina is not really sure whether to leave or not, but may be closer to being out than being in right now. If a replacement is needed Schmeichel would likely be discounted due to lack of experience at the top level - and the same is maybe true of Scott Loach who is a better keeper, but may need to drop to the bench for a while before becoming first choice at a better club. As for Torre, I think he left simply for the reasons he stated - he was not leaving for one last big pay day at 26.}

I have no news mate, sorry. The only thing i know is that Pepe was very interested in joining Arsenal last summer.

I think if we are successful and he can see good things happening he will stay, if not he will go.

I do not think he would join Utd only Arsenal.

Can you tell me if theres any chance and how much jesus navas would cost liverpool. .Also arda turran. These players i think make great buys for us. .I would love to see navas saurez and turran playing just behind carrol what do you think.stevie.g and raul.m just behind them.please give me your opinion. . .

***************************************

Navas has a notorious problem with home sickness. It would be hard to get him to live the city of Seville. let alone Spain.

)Tikmeister( {ed's note - he has had treatment and is supposedly cured, hence his involvement in the World Cup.}

Ed, taiwo has announced that he is leaving on a free at the end of the season and that he is in advanced yalks with a european team from one of the top 3 leagues . . do u fink its us or is it ac milan as i heard they were after him??

{Editor's Note: I am told it is Juventus - but his preference may well be for Benfica.}

Right so it looks like blackpool are trying to do a man city and get a keeper on loan like city did last year, presuming they get permission i reckon we should be the first to step in and offer one of our reserve keepers, firstly it would help pave the way for C. Adam come the summer a little sweetner so to speak and secondly would give one of our young keepers a chance of some prem experience! Would appreciate your thoughts ed and anybody else who care's to comment!YNWA {ed's note - just been discussing this on the editor's widget, apparently they had Jones on loan a few years back and he was awful, so he can be ruled out. I do think it is a good idea to send one of our young keepers to them on loan though.}

Like a lot of people on here, I was very impressed with Christian Eriksen's performance vs England last night. It seems his position is off the strikers - a position that Suarez, Meireles, Gerrard, Shelvey, Pacheco and Suso can play. We have a lot of players who can play that role at present, so just wondered whether he plays that role for Ajax, and has he played in any other positions.
He looks a cracking player, but is he what we need at the moment? Considering the options we already have in that position

Turan would jump at the chance to join Liverpool.}

Pepe Reina has said many times that the only other club hee wishes to play for other than Liverpool is Atletico Madrid. I seriously doubt he would join another club in England, especially man united! Should he want to leave then I hope we can arrange a deal with athletico madrid that involves David De Gea.

Liverpool have no first refusal on Christian Eriksen, it was actually for Nicolas Loderio. Thee lad is class and he signed for Ajax on Luis Suarez recomendation as they are good friends.

DownUnderRed.

{Editor's Note: Most of the more successful English sides, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have declared an interest as have a number of sides across Europe. I would guess that if and when he leaves Germany may well be his desination - possibly even Bayern Munich). If he were to move to England, I expect Arsenal would have the edge over the other clubs.}

erikson plays for ajax an wud cost 10-15 m an liverpool have first refusal as they are trying to reach a corparation agreement with ajax , why the suarez deal took so long"

Liverpool do not have "first refusal" on Eriksen. Sharkey.

He didn't say he was in talks with one of the top 3 clubs. His quote is:

"I have decided not to extend my deal. In June I want to change club. I don't want to reveal who we are negotiating with, but it's a club that plays in one of the three major European leagues."

Pepe has said he will HAVE to leave if Liverpool cannot finish in top 4 again in Spanish Press he said he is the only key member of the Spain Squad not to win anything at Club Level and it makes him sad this is from Marca

Santo

pepe won the f.a cup

silva won - nothing
villa won - nothing
mata won - nothing
capdevilla won - nothing

all key members of the spain squad who got alot more game time than pepe in the world cup an hav won nothing at club level

10 Feb 2011 12:51:35
Speaking to sources in scotland, if pepe goes, Alan Mcgregor of Rangers would be his replacement

{Editor's Note: Rather too early to tell that - and probably incorrect in my view.}

10 Feb 2011 12:18:06
Ed this Eriksen would cost a few quid would he? He was ther best player on that pitch for me tonight and he's still 18.

Spriggo {ed's note - he certainly would, Ajax want to hold onto him and sell him in a few year's time, so he won't be cheap.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'd like to think that the last minute agreement for the Suarez deal having increased to the 23m included a first refusal on the young lad, makes business sense and would be hard for Ajax to kick back as we met thier valuation. .

Here's hoping,

Heard from an inside source that Liverpool are going back to Ajax and Newcastle in the summer for the signings of Christian Eriksen and Jose Enrique respectively. My source couldn't confirm the fees but confident that both deals have literally been agreed and only the negotiations with the players needs to be done.

10 Feb 2011 02:58:22
Pepe Reina (I know. . . sigh) said he wants to challenge for titles and play Champions League. I believe he will be challenging for titles next year at LFC and if we don't make top four this season, we will next, so he'll haveone more season of Europa before CL - if he can't honour one-third of his current contract to get what he is craving - he can go. I am confident that we will still have Pepe next season - LIVERPRES

Id take him and £18million for Reina if he must go

Just hear from my cousin who work in Restaurant where Liverpool and Everton Management ate. They are currently thinking of build a joint new Stadium near Stanley Park. both set of director recoigne they can't afford to build new stadium on their own. The cost of new Liverpool Stadium have arise from 250m -400m and Everton will cost roughly 250m at kirby
Liverpool Amerian owner think is only affordable way to build a 60-65000 stadiums but with both set of fan against the idea it will have monster task to get the fan agreed. If this happen it will save both clubs at least 100m each which can invest it back in to club. and extra attendance will generate 20-30m
Told mate never going to behappen

Why do so many reds fans think that taiwo would be a decent signing, the guys dodgy defensively and unproven. He's just about on a par with chimbonda (not the kind of signing we want) and I'm not sure a left is a priority as we have other options. Clearly we need to look at wide areas but not players in the pennant mould (crosses for crosses sake) as this just doesn't work at the highest level (even if you have Andy Carroll). Our spending should focus on mobile, technically adept forward players, I'd like to see kk adopt rafa's 4-2-3-1 with the key emphasis on the three (suarez, lavezzi, Honda, turan etc) with the attack based on pace and constant movement (modern pass and move) with Carroll leading the line.

Forget 'hug the touchline' wingers or the old two striker hogson formation. Hate to say it but the Germans (not just Spain) showed us at the world cup how to set up a side to play modern attacking football, I think we should do the same next season (hopefully in the champions league) what do you reckon ed? YNWA

jamliv {ed's note - out and out wingers still have a place in the game if they are good enough in my opinion. I think it is about getting the best from the players you have, clearly we have no wide players other than full backs, which is why we have gone with a back 3. But the likes of Jesus Navas can be devastating as wingers.}
