I eds who apart from us has an interest in lazios Felipe Anderson and where do you see him ending up. Super player quite similar to ibe sterling but he has an end product all the time. Also during the lazio inter game the commentator described kovacic as a luxury player. Good player but defo not what's needed.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid have approached Lazio about taking Filipe Anderson as a replacement for Arda Turan. Manchester City have a declared interest whilst many clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich have had him watched recently. Lazio have offered him a new contract which he will in my view agree to.}

don't know myself as its true or rubbish, but read on a site about these rumors & think to share :

"Rodgers is most likely staying.
Ings is almost done. Milner is also close.
We are after Benteke too. But price has been an issue."

We don't need all of them, this is the mistake we made last season, signing to meny players who are just not good enough, imo Milner & ings are good value for money. If ings plays a lot I can see him being a great striker, he's not a big slow striker he's actually quite quick and will press.
Why sign benteke at the reported 30m ? His injury record is really bad plus it would put ings on the bench.
If we can't get a top striker this window then save the money I say.

Good afternoon

I believe when he left inter we were linked with Luc Castaignos, I assume as he was not in Ed002 round up of targets, LFC no longer hold an interest?

Also just wanted to say, was sad to read what Ed002 has said at the way the club has treated Brad Jones. The lad has always known he was number 2 at the club, but has never moaned and has always I feel done a decent job when called on.

Anyway hope the team can get a result today and end the season on a winning run, come back stronger next season and grab a CL place.

Thanks

PM

{Ed002's Note - It was three years ago that Castaignos left Inter and whilst a number of clubs, including an EPL side are interested in him, Liverpool are not at this time.}

10 May 2015 14:08:54
That EPL side is Swansea yes?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, it is.}

10 May 2015 10:58:42
Ed, are you aware of any interest in Sakho? He only has 2 years left on his contract, do you think the club will be eager to give him an extension or do you think we are willing to consider offers?

Thanks in advance.

Red Rum

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Sakho was of interest to another side earlier in the season when he had been replaced by Lovren - and they had a player who would have been made available in a straight exchange. Now it has all settled down and I don't see him leaving this summer.}

10 May 2015 11:18:04
out of curiosity who was the player, also if Skrtel were to leave have we had a look at Howdes of FC Schalke as a replacement ?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I fear it would lead to trouble if I said. Liverpool has shown no interest in Howedes.}

10 May 2015 11:55:53
Cheers for that insight Ed, I'd love to know who the player was but I understand why you cannot say. I have a sneaky feeling he will be sold this summer.

Can we know the club that had the interest Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I explained, it is history and probably trouble if I tell you.}

10 May 2015 15:18:49
It was Arsenal ha

10 May 2015 10:26:39
Has winston Reid signed a new contract last I heard he was a target for Arsenal, if not are we in for him.

Assuming Toure, Coates & Llori leave the club

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Yes and No.}

10 May 2015 08:40:11
Linked to aubameyang in the papers today, be a good signing for us I think, quick, skilful and versatile playing as main striker or part of a front 3. I believe he would adapt to the premier league well.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - There is remaining interest in Aubameyang from Juventus and Roma and, unconfirmed, one or both of the Milan clubs might show an interest if available. The player has made it clear that he would like to move to Italy. However, that has not deterred Spurs who have had scouts at recent games including against Hertha Berlin yesterday.}

10 May 2015 10:07:25
aubameyang is exactly the kind of player we should be in the market for.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are right, he has a stupid haircut so will fit right in. Is it a good idea to buy a player who declares he wants to move somewhere else? Just a thought.}

10 May 2015 11:04:13
Should have snapped him up before moving from St Ettiene.

Hipster hair cuts are atrocious. It's similar to the make up and big hair of glam rock in the 80s.

Ugh.

Hi eds now that Burnley are down do you expect Ings future to be determined quickly?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Burnley. Ings can take as long as he wants to decide. Right now he can talk with non EPL clubs directly.}

10 May 2015 09:56:30
Ings is too risky for me. You have to remember we are talking about a guy that has shone for Burnley, with the key word being 'Burnley' - who just got relegated.
On the flip side he is only 22, and so has the chance to progress. He would also be costly because he is young and English, which makes him too high a risk.
If we could get him cheaply, as in under £10m, then he would be a great player for a backup striker - maybe to replace Lambert.
We would however still need another 2 top players like Higuain, Lacazette, etc. to replace Mario and Sturridge (whilst injured of course).
Will they join us? Not if they have other choices.
It's going to be a tough summer chaps!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think an offer of £10M for Ings would eb successful.}

10 May 2015 10:32:50
Kevman- you are aware Ings is available on a free?? We would only have to pay a compensatory fee of a few mil to get him. You know that don't ya?!
I think Ed02 might be teasing ya a bit with the reply.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2015 10:41:37
Question for you Ed002 in regards to him not being able to talk directly with EPL clubs as I don't really understand the rules. For instance, are Liverpool and Burnley able to talk to each other about him? Are Liverpool allowed to deal with his agent etc? Or is it that Ings himself can't specifically talk to us directly? As I said I don't understand what allowed ad what isn't. Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The discussion with Burnley is only about compensation and not about the player.

The player can talk directly with non-EPL clubs from January on, but not with Liverpool or any other interested sides in England. Liverpool can however talk with his agent, and have been doing so - and there is very strong interest as I have explained.}

10 May 2015 11:38:43
Thanks for the reply Eds. I thibk Brisbane basically asked the question I should have. Wasn't sure how it'd work

Hi Ed's I'm a new member , great site! How true are the Javier Hernandez rumours cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of lots of interest in Hernandez and I am aware of what the player has said he wants - none of it involves Liverpool.}

10 May 2015 08:04:00
Hi eds,

Aside from the normal questions of will we sign x, will we sign Y.
I was wondering if you can shed some insight on who Liverpool are looking to move on? And would this change if Liverpool were change manager?

Do you feel Liverpool need a huge overhaul as some are suggesting or just a few tweaks to the squad?

Thank you for updates they are greatly appreciated

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Balotelli, Ilori, Borini, Aspas, Alberto and probably Coates. Kolo Touré has been offered a new contract - I don't know if he will sign it. Jones may decide to run his contract down after being screwed around by the club. Manquillo - the club may decide to pay up to return him to Spain.

Rodgers keeps saying it is a "long term plan" - as such he can hardly be allowed to change much. The club has FFP problems and will not be in the Champions League - and that will add some limitations.}

10 May 2015 08:50:47
Thanks ed, greatly appreciated

10 May 2015 10:19:13
Add Enrique,Wisdom,Allen & Johnson

If they all left/sold it would have little impact on the first team

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I should have included Johnson.}

10 May 2015 11:00:13
What do you mean jones was screwed around by the club?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

10 May 2015 11:19:30
Tried hence why I bothered to write the question.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They offered him a new contract, then withdrew it and told him to find a new club. He has the choice of running his contract down or forcing the club to buy him off. It has been dealt with.}

10 May 2015 12:04:49
Is the reason for withdrawing the contract offer down to already having found a replacement for him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know but am aware that Jones is very unhappy he was given assurances that the club has reneged on.}

10 May 2015 12:19:34
I read a few days ago that we had been inspected and cleared of any FFP problems.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, you don't understand.}

10 May 2015 06:50:00
Hi ed few rumours for you to clear up for me if you can please.
Apparently we've bid 9m plus lucas/borini for firmino Although could b kovacic
A shortlist of 4 managers being klopp,de boer,rafa and a french bloke not sure who.
Rodgers could stay but will be told dof or go. Thanks again

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Have you been playing on Twitter? (a) There is interest in him from elsewhere in the EPL but Liverpool have made no bid for Firmino. (b) As I have explained, Piero Ausilio told a Spanish journalist that Liverpool had made a "funny little joke" with a €10M offer for Kovacic. (c) Pure fantasy. (d) Clearly come from a fan who thinks the solution is a director of football and everything will be rosy in the garden.}

10 May 2015 15:19:50
All from twitter i'm afraid my apologies just wanted the real answer to what people on there think is the truth from great sources inside the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is the issue DR.}
