Ed's, do you think Liverpool will try to buy Moussa Sissoko now that Sahin left, especially when we know his price is 3, 5M? {Ed002's Note - I don't see interest right now.}

Would be a great buy so no chance of him coming with the clubs backwards transfers dealings

Mmmm, Sissoko. Great player, young and low cost or free. Would be really good cover for Lucas and general competiton in midfield, needed now since Cole and Sahin gone.

But, it would require FSG spending some money and mean the people who conduct our business to act swiftly to beat off Newcastle

So no chance

Hi eds.great site always on listen do you think Fernando is longing for return too us?seems broken since he left us I know we all hated him for leaving but surely deep down all us reds take him back open arms...wats your thoughts plain see he not happy...johnny Ireland jtf96 {Ed002's Note - Johnny I would not hold my breath. Live the future not the past man.}

Agree with johnny eire, have to say that the idea of nando and luis up front would be a sight to behold, none of us mere mortals knew what went on behind the scenes during his transfer and there could have been more to it than meets the eye, i ll always have a soft spot for him, remember the days he terrorised vidic and terry, he could be epic for us again, ynwa, prayers for the 96

Ed, strongly disagree you say look to the future, yes i agree in certain extent but surely if the lad is available, i for one would welcome him back with open arms, as i think he could do great job for us as he did when he was with us cheers . {Ed001's Note - if he was available, he is not good enough. Move on and get a new man crush for heaven's sake! Torres was a big girl with a sulky chops attitude, never should he be allowed to wear the Liverbird on his chest again.}

Have you forgot how bad he was for the last 18 months he was at Liverpool? Move on, he's never going to be the player he was.

12 Jan 2013 13:34:54
You say move on get another crush..no need too be so smart ed!we all scouse fans here m sure Torres playing us you thought he was greatest as we all did..so wat if he sulked I would too with Roy as manager and hicks and Gillette destroying us in everyway when Kenny took over he started scoring for us again especialy remember wolves away man match something happens then I reckon was forced leave now he's a lost soul:[ .stop been so harsh in sure if we give him lifeline he would pay bak us fans who adored him and rest is history..suarezz is the man my eyes legend in making but nando can be too..anyone agree..johnny ireland {Ed002's Note - Obviously if Suarez were to be sold Liverpool could then afford to buy Torres back. Perhaps Chelsea would even be interested in a part exchange deal?}

Stop stop stop..you can't be a liverpool fan wanting this rubbish at our club, the most expesive rubbish!!

so many people have no idea it makes me sad, go watch tennis or something a simpler game for your brain!!

11 Jan 2013 21:53:57
Torres to return (strangely hoping for this!)

Reportedly told Chelsea teammates he wishes he was back in Liverpool, nothing more. Don't be an person.

I for one did not want him to go, i would welcome him back with open arms my personal view with the lad is he trys his best and for me that is good enough, and think he would fit in well again at lfc .

12 Jan 2013 08:30:32
Id hate him to return. We now have a forward who plays with such passion and intensity for our club, who gets kicked and gts back up with fire in his belly.
Fernando is lost and needs to go home. At the start he would terrify defenses by sprinting straight at them, step over and shoot. Toward the end of his liverpool days he was a sulky forward who would end up on his arse after 5 minutes and moan for the rest of the game.

Eds is it true that swansea has put in a bid for tom ince??.it wouldn't be good if we lost of on him to swansea.his a great talent.his stats at a young age his impressive even tough his playing in the championship.

No major loss!

Plus we make £2.5M in the process 35% sell on fee.

Lee73

Liverpool need to be smart and let Swansea have him, we get 35% of the fee that's £2.5 million and don't have Tom Ince in our squad win win.

I have seen Ince play 12 times this year, while not a bad player I think he is over rated & think we could spend the money on better, eg M'Villa, Sissoko, Walcott (not much chance), Granero or even Shane Long..

If the player wants to play for us - he'll sign, if he doesn't then we don't want him or need him - and to be honest, he's no real improvement on what we have.

He is a great young talent and will flourish playing alongside a world class striker like suarez, hope we get him !

Tel 1949

Let Swansea waste their money

11 Jan 2013 19:07:58
Out of curiosity, do you think we may get Walcott still or are we basically not bothering anymore, also just an interest, are we looking at m'vila or as an option. Going for 10 mil is rather cheap, Lfc should try for a sneaky bid, worth it and has a good sell on value I would imagine. Would he even want to come either. I know arsenal are interested but I would rather they don't get him. Thanks eds lfcred {Ed002's Note - I don't think there was ever a chance of Walcott - as has been explained repeatedly.}

11 Jan 2013 18:39:01
eds just like your thoughts on snider with sahin going so maybe one short there pluss us needing a more attacking midd cause rodgers like gerrard deeper and shelvey not quite ready don't you think snider would be a good option he's desperate to leave inter and doest want to go to gala so wat you think think he would be great for eveyone for development of the youngsters to

grego {Ed002's Note - No.It has been dealt with at length. Sadly you will never find it using the search function.}

Eds, do you think there is a chance we could sign benat as a replacement for sahin? Cheers. D.m.h {Ed002's Note - No.}

11 Jan 2013 17:25:51
Hi ed002 have you any inside information on torres as to whether it is true he has fallen out with players etc do you think he has any desire to come back to liverpool or maybe he thinks he made the wrong move and should have give the suarez him partenership a chance i personally think its too late for him to return your thoughts please

mayhem 1981 {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

11 Jan 2013 20:09:52
a Spanish mate of mine reckons for certain Liverpool will be going for Granero from QPR in the summer (presumably on the cheap as they'll probably be in the championship next year) - Don't shoot the messenger I'm only passing this information on!

Can't shoot you, don't even know who you are.

11 Jan 2013 19:10:13
Tom Ince to sign early next week. Shane Long will come in also now that West Brom have secured Lakuka for the rest of the season.

West Brom always had lukaku for all season and Shane Long won't be coming in

I thought he was already on a season long loan...

Load of tosh.

Not sure what others think, but I'm sick to death of hearing this will he won't he saga. He's good, but really not that great; we can get better players.

11 Jan 2013 22:13:35
Dnt spoil that boy's name, it's Lukaku.

Lukaku I think your on about.

No to Shane Long for me.

Long god almighty

Chelsea could have recalled Lukaku

They have Lukaku for the rest of the season. So?

Do they have him for the next season? No. Do they need to look for a replacement for Shane Long if he left in this window? Yes and they will be under the mercy of the seller.

11 Jan 2013 18:40:28
Ed's What is your opinion on Liverpool bringing Torres back to Anfield in the summer and ending his Stamford Bridge nightmare.He was made for us and vice versa i am sure everybody who really cares about this great club would welcome him back with open arms.

great site thanks

Richie

{Ed006's Note - If he could recreate the form that he had for his first couple of seasons here then only a fool would turn him away. The real question for me is will he or can he? I was once a massive fan of Fernando and still like to see him succeed, I know, its bad, I cannot like Chelsea doing well but Torres is different. I think in some way he regrets the move and would probably love to come back. Do you think he would be welcomed back? I think we would have to here the real reasons he left, or at least sort that out with the board before any return would be made possible.}

Would love him back! be able to bounce again when he scores! :-) could give him a fresh start an hope he would be back to his old form, with a club that support there players and manager!
Paddock boy

And a massive pay cut, and a cut price transfer fee, and a new hamstring, and a full time therapist life coach motivator, and ideally a time machine.

SpudRed

He left us high and dry when things weren't going great for us ..... f**k him now. I don't feel sorry for him ...

Fernando was a god when at d 'pool. The fans and club respected him. They lived their week to see him play every weekend. That's why he was a success with us. At Chelsea he's another big rich name that fans and club don't fully appreciate. He'd be better off returning And recapturing his best. Hope he comes back.

I probably will get slated for saying this, but a lot of genuine Liverpool fans ( Scousers ) would welcome El Niño back with open arms, but it would have to be at a knock down price ! Him and Suarez would torment teams throughout the Prem.
But it won't happen, so forget it ;(

Redthroughandthrough

I feel sick Torres is not with Liverpool, it's all Gillette and Hicks fault. At the end of the day Torres was so cheesed of off at losing his place in the Spanish team, that he would do anything to get back to the top.

Unfortunately he has seen the difference between a dictator club with no morals who buy up everyone, and the real heartbeat purity of world football.

If we can get Torres back for a good deal then bring him back now. I think Torres would bust his ass into the ground for forgiveness beyond belief.

I love nothing more than seeing Fernando fail. He handed a transfer request in on the last day of the January transfer window. Anyone who gave half a toss about the club would have seen the season out or left sooner so we wouldn't have to panic buy. He only thought about himself. I hope he looks back on his Chelsea career and is happy Drogba won him his Champions league medal he so desperately wanted. Move on, he has

Torres is not the Torres of three years ago!

Why would we want him? Ye can see clearly that he has lost that yard of pace and the ability to skip past a defender which made him so lethal. Yes he still has finishing ability but he isn't half the player he was and won't magically rediscover that. The amount of niggly injuries he has suffered have finally caught up with him. What bugs me is that we didn't try and sign Demba Ba.

As Joni Mitchell once said "you don't know what you've got till its gone" and i think Torres probably now believes this is the case. Once in a while Players suit certain teams and teams suit certain players e.g Ian Rush, Lion Britton, and Torres certainly suited Liverpool and Liverpool certainly suited Torres.
How many 26 year olds make the wrong decision in Life, especially when they listen to outside influences, I certainly did. Torres went for what he thought were the right reasons, Liverpool were in turmoil and he thought the grass would be greener, his immaturity in the situation showed through with certain ill thought out comments, comments that I believe were said not because he really felt that way but comments he made to almost reassure himself that he had made the right decision, but underneath he truly had misgivings about the move and the nature of the move.
Liverpool fans loved Torres and he will never get that admiration of any other set of fans, including his boyhood club Athletico.
When Torres arrived at Liverpool something special occurred, some kind of special connection was made a bond if you like, Liverpool fans had not had such a connection since the Fowler and Dalglish days, and Torres broke that connection when he left, he hurt so many fans that adored him and at a time when the club needed him most.
People of all ages make mistakes in life and have to live by their actions, I for one never wanted Torres to succeed at Chelski, however I believe now is the time to forgive and forget. Fernando made the wrong decision and now is the time to forget, if he did come back then i am sure he would be forgiven but I do believe that coming back is not an option, Liverpool have moved on with a new manager, new players and plans for the future that don't include past players. So from a True Red, Thanks Fernando for all the good times you gave us, good luck and get out of Chelsea as soon as possible and resurrect your career.
Plastic fans with no history.

Evered

I was also a huge fan of Torres. I was absolutely gutted when he went to Chelski and the way he did it made it even harder to swallow. I do however think there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't regret leaving Liverpool, and I would take him back in a flash.

I think it would be great 2 see fernando back he is better suited to liverpool than chelski an it won't take him to long to win the the fans over imagine suarez torres an sturridge in attack! jay

He's still a good player; not as good as he used to be, but Chelsea's style of play doesn't suit him

11 Jan 2013 21:44:06
I kinda feel the same way about it as Ed006, tbh. I just can't hate the guy. He deserves a bit of vitriol, don't get me wrong, but I can't be the one to dispense it. Maybe it's because

Then again, I was ambivalent to Owen until he signed for Man U. So might just be my nature.

If he came back, I think we'd forgive him if he started scoring again for us. And for all the 'he's lost it' remarks, didn't he score 7 in 7 almost as soon as Rafa came in? And that streak only ended 2 weeks ago and it's quite concievable that he'll keep scoring (assuming Ba doesn't compeltely knock him out of the team, that is)?

- Something Red -

Would you take your ex back if she cheated on you behind your back i think not, torres would cost at least 30 million, get in the real world

He'll be 29 if he comes back

I would take him back tomorrow, we need a class striker, and he wants to come back, everyone makes mistakes in life and i think most of our fans would forgive & forget, whatever his reasons were for leaving, our front line would be a match for any team, and the money we lose on Carroll won't look so bad if we could get Torres back for less than half of what we sold him for.

Evered...

Spot on.

Joe

Everyone of us makes mistakes, and Torres made a huge one! Would love to see him back in a red jersey where he belongs! Forgive and forget I say! We're not Chelsea fans for goodness sake! Of course it's never going to happen sadly.

Torres had lost it when we sold him. He is not good enough for us any longer. Selling him for 50 million was genius. Just a shame the money wasn't invested better.

I think he will be back, and sooner than you think ...

He is not the player he was, lost more than that yard he used to have, good memories but. just move on and open your eyes he's just not the player he was, bobpaisleysskids

Good post Evered..

Regards to:

Demba Ba as a knee like a ticking timebomb, waiting to go off. that's why no one except "throw money down the drain" Chelsea bought him. for around £20M NOT £7M.....

Lee73

Geez Evered, almost getting me emotional reading that! You are spot on thou mate, I would gladly have him back but under no illusion that he would be the Torres of old!

Move forward, not back as Ed02 keeps trying to point out to Liverpool fans. That seems to be our problem, everyones too focused in the past and not on the present or future.

I don't think Torres will return unless it's for anythign around the £12 million mark. He doesn't fit the policy, shirt sales will likely be low, he'll have to take a huge wage cut.

Lets get one thing right though, he was never the same player after the world cup when he did his hamstring in after just coming on as a sub, he should have never been used in that tournament.

When he returned to liverpool however, even though he still carried that injury and went off during 2 games in the season injured (eds may verify) he still scored 9 goals in 23 appearances and got six assists. Lampard, ramirez, mikel, essien et al DON'T play the way Ferando needs them to, they don't cross early to the front post from the wings, they didn't play any channel balls from wide position for torres to split through the centre backs, as well as many other failings. This is why Mata and hazard were brought in and why Torres has seen more success of late.

Torres - The prodigal son!

If he does ever return to Liverpool lets hope he has learnt his lesson.

Remember how Torres and Gerrard became one of the best partnerships in world football? How they cut through defences with such ease! Now add Suarez to the equation!

I would welcome Fernando home with open arms, as long as he is ready for a fresh start and ready to help drive liverpool back to the peak of world football!

Red Lee

I loved torres and then i hated him!
and now i couldnt give two choc logs!
but the problem with him arriving isnt the fans or the way he left.
its the formation we play!
hes only ever played well as a long striker and that's why he's never really made it for spain and why he would not make it in the new liverpool squad!

redaling-gus

I would also welcome him back, despite the past. He's not the player he was, but I'd love him to come back for a small fee and reduced wages, and score a couple against Chelsea on 20 April to put us into the Champions League places. Sorry Ed 002, but just the thought of it makes me chuckle. Not going to happen, but I can dream!

30 million for Torres would be criminal. More like 15.

Would have him back any day though, he'll play better in a team that have something to play for other than a weekly wage.

As redaling gus correctly points out - torres does not fit our formation anymore. He needs to play as a lone striker with balls played in front of him. We don't play like that anymore the same as Chelsea don't. His game won't work for us more than it will for them. Add to this the fact that he is a traitor and a sulky child then I think it's clear that 50 million quid was a pretty good deal

s reporting Tom Ince deal stalled and Swansea have made a 7mil offer. Any news on this? Or could we be looking at missing out to Swansea?

ROFLMAO, 'missing out' on To mInce, that's funny.

If true, then we get 2m of that fee from our sell on clause and we can use that plus the 5m we were going to pay for someone better.

Who cares Ince is sh!t anyway

For 7m leave him go and move on

Know like for like replacement will be brought in to replace Sahin. We are on the look out for a number 10 but will probably wait till the summer. Ince if Blackpool and Liverpool can compromise. We have 2 other targets Gamiro or Bony but Gemiro is preferred choise

lfc have confirmed sahin has agreed to move to Dortmund

What a disaster, whose idea was this? throwing good money after bad, LFC need to buck it's ideas up, they are joke in the transfer market, no wonder other fans laugh at us, the whole Sahin deal smelt funny from the start!

Great news!

11 Jan 2013 16:54:07
Hi ed002
If Sahin does move to Dortmund do they pay part of his loan fee that Liverpool would have had to pay to Madrid. Secondly, was his loan fee £4 million for the season? Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - I don't know what agreement has been reached but I don't see why they would. The fee was £4.4M for the loan.}

But if Liverpool paid for an entire year surely they get compensated? {Ed002's Note - Why? It is hardly the fault of the other clubs it didn't work out. Liverpool signed the contract with Real Madrid.}

Confirmed, he has gone

We are getting half of the loan fee back ( 2.25 mill) and frees up some money for wages so all around good deal :-)

The 4.4M must surely include Sahin's wages...?

Another in a long series of throwing money down the pan

Why wouldn't we of attempted to get some fee for him back from Dortmund?? Sahin wanted out, Dortmund wanted him. Surely you don't hand over a player you paid 4.4m for until May for zip ..... we had done the deal and where in a position to keep him, hardly under pressure, money wise, to make sure this deal was done.

I can only see us getting rid of him now exactly because we're getting some money back from Dortmund regarding our loan fee for the season. No one said RM owe us the money eds

A loaning until 2014 it is?

If LFC didn't negotiate some compensation of the loan fee then I would be surprised. Either that or they are targetting a replacement loanee that return better value for money - not necessarily in the same position as Sahin as BR now has more trust in Hendo and Shelvey. If one arrives then you can bet your bottom dollar that the sums will add up to benefit the club unlike in previous windows...

Bear in mind Ed002 said that Sahin would be a 'great' signing and ridiculed posters who doubted his quality or ability for liverpool. Looks like yet another big slice of humble pie. At this rate, we will have to bake another! {Ed002's Note - That seems rather unlikely - maybe you are just a lying motherf*cker?}

Ed 2 you say you don't see why they would but it stands to reason that Lfc would negotiate for dourtmond to pay half the fee otherwise they would just keep him. This has nothing to do with the contract they agreed to pay real. End of the day real are not going to care which one of us pays the loan fee as long as they get paid it. {Ed002's Note - And perhaps Dortmuind would say just keep him then. The mistake was Liverpools.}

If some type of fee was not ask of Dortmund, the people at the club shouldn't be running a corner shop, never mind Liverpool. Ridiculous to dismiss that any fee was not at least negotiated with Dortmund ... and left our thin squad worse off, if not to benefit from a kick back off Dortmund?!!

{Ed002's Note - The agreement is between Real Madrid and Dortmund - Liverpool cannot ask a fee for a player that is only contracted to them on a temporary basis.}

11 Jan 2013 16:48:35
Just a quick question Eds,

Do you believe he club will try signing someone to replace Sahin as it looks increasingly likely that he will go.

Red Chopsticks {Ed002's Note - Possibly.}

Sahin was brought in because rogers didn't fancy Hendo.things have changed.

Henderson is miles better than Sahin!

11 Jan 2013 16:38:51
Hey Eds,
Any insight into Sahin's departure. Was it purely because he was being played out of position? Personally, he didn't look committed enough. He seemed very off the pace in most games he played. Also, is there a replacement lined up for him? I mean, that's now about 180k/week off the wage bill with both him and Joe cole gone. I assume they could get someone decent in with that. Thanks
Dani {Ed002's Note - We know he wasn't happy and Liverpool were willing to let him go - and a deal has been brokered that suits everyone.}

11 Jan 2013 15:49:59
just wonder if Moussa sow does end up signing for liverpool, surely there isnt enough place for five strikers in the squad? Could that mean carroll won't return? Or maybe borini could get sent on loan in summer? {Ed002's Note - I can't see Carroll playing for Liverpool again. He is on a loan-to-buy deal. I also cannot see Borini going on loan. And I have already given my views on Sow.}

I will never forgive Rodgers for selling Carroll.

11 Jan 2013 15:46:19
Eds... LFC seem to be on a cost cutting mission this year... Is this so we can invest significant levels of money in the summer?? Its not going to be like this every transfer market is it? They're businessmen (FSG) and must know that in order to secure champions league we'll need investment of +£50m for players... {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are the highest spending EPL team this January. Liverpool has consistently been in the top ten spending teams world-wide. They spent significantly in the summer and significantly pre-season. The money pissed up the wall by Dalglish was to secure Champions League football. Rodgers target is Champions League football.}

''The money pissed up the wall by Dalglish '' nicely put eds

Pissed up the wal?? Bit unfair considering most of their buys are playing under Rogers.

I suppose the money paid for Suarez was a waste as well then now he's worth £40m.

Blinkered view IMO, need to look at the whole picture including the sales made by FSG.

You could say the same as what you said about Rogers and his buys!

Also under KK we were competing for trophies not the same so far under Brenden yet. {Ed002's Note - You should perhaps read through the 1000s of posts about Downing, Carroll, Henderson et al. Try searching on Donkey.}

Was it Dalglish or Commoli that as you say pissed it up the wall. {Ed002's Note - Dalglish assisted by Comolli.}

11 Jan 2013 16:41:18
Ed002, u're class.

Let's get something straight. Spending means if you subtract your sales. We recouped at least 75 mil and we spend 110m. Total spend 35m...Hardly the biggest spending team in the EPL. Apart from that Dalglish made two huge mistakes Downing and Carroll(their value). I doubt Dalglish had anything major to do with Carroll as he was only a caretaker at the time. Not meaning to bash Rodgers, as I like our manager, but he also spend 26 on two players who are yet to even come close to the fee we spend on them. "The money pissed up the wall by Dalglish" is a wrong sentence...They all had to do with the mistakes including the owners with their stupid "mostly British" plan. Let me remind you, we chose Downing over Mata(if we pushed really hard he would have come, we didn't even bother). And for two years now it is obvious we need at least another big name just like Suarez(to secure CL football), still we are pursuing talents and mediocre players. Hardly Dalglish's mistake. {Ed002's Note - Sorry. Dalglish bought two forwards, a left back, three midfield players and a second string young centre back. He spent circa £116M on these players and I rather think most Liverpool supporters would only keep Suarez out of those players and spend the other £94M more wisely. He did not get close to his target of Champions League football. It did not work out - suck it up and move on.}

BR`s only been there 5 minutes and he`s already pissed 32 mill up the wall, Allen, Borini & Sahin, hope Sturridge turns out to be better

Borini's played 5 matches, some with a broken foot by some reports, sahin, is a good player when fit allen started well and faded over the last 7 games or so. If he gets back on form he'll be good. Sturridge I believe is a good talent

11 Jan 2013 17:40:00
A lot of pissing going on here boys. Please remember to reference the odd dump as well.. Like the Cowboys. Dalglish got rid of the after smell and made us play as a team again,, don't you remember how bad we were and disjointed as a team before Dalglish?

LFC have wasted a lot of money, that's for sure. Although it does seem unfair to not consider how the money was made available for spending.. Torres sale for example. I believe there needs to be a couple of big money or high quality players signed to challenge in the top 4. The youth at LFC is encouraging, Sterling, Sturridge, Wisdom, ..... But, all fans at LFC want money to be spent wisely on quality. These loan signings are a big waste of time. Sahin was a real dissapointment. Just get some top quality and then make more money...trophies, league etc

Ant

''The money pissed up the wall by Dalglish there was not that much money spent by Dalglish when you look at what he brought in from sales and wages saved now the money that Brendan brent rodgers has pissed up the wall on joe allen and Fabio Borini now that's what I call pissing it up the wall.

Nail on head ED002!

LFC really need to sort out their transfers whether it be buying players or loans, we are becoming a joke!

Gaz1975.

I doubt we will be the highest spenders come the end of the window.

All this money pissed up the wall and we still rely on the benitez signings - Johnson, Reina, Skrtyl, Agger, Lucas not to mention the youth he signed and the players we all want back at the club! However i beleive Rodgers will match him if not better him if he is supported by the owners and given the same ammount of time.

Red Grand

Ed002 is clearly not clueless,

the money was pissed up the wall by Dalglish with Comolli aiming...

On top of that Dalglish was only competing for trophies by running our first 11 into the ground! we played a full strength 11 against Brighton and even Exceter!

Furthermore Dalglish achieved 8th with players that should have enough quality to finish 4th i.e. Dirk Kuyt and even Maxi Rodriguez to an extent. Comparitively Rodgers is working with Sterling and Suso, both of whom havnt hid 20...nuff said!

Rodgers has managed to buy
Borini £12m
Sturridge £12m
Assaidi £2m
Allen £15
for just £6m more than the Donkey alone, please do not say Dalglish spent wisely. Falcao, Aguero, Van Persie, David Villa all cost less and they know how to put it in the back of the net and get a haircut...

Anyone questioning the net spend of Dalgish needs to realise that £49.2m of the £50m re-couped from Fernando Torres went to the disposing and cost covering of the stadium plans that the Cowboys had been sitting on

Thus Dalglish pissed a large amount of net spend up the wall!

Eds don't blame Dalglish!

We were only one player short of being in top four last season

11 Jan 2013 18:49:21
Pissed up against the wall-that is utter rubbish. KDs record will stand up to this guy. His buys were judged far too early. Look at Henderson and Downing flying now. Silly silly man. {Ed002's Note - And Kenny of course got Liverpool back in the Champions League?}

Eds002, I find your comment "pissed up the wall by Dalglish" a liittle strange. Whilst I agree in full that Liverpool have consistantly invested in the team I don;t see that what Dalglish spent was pissed against the wall. Downing now working his way into the plan and doing well by all accounts, Hendo now very much in the plan, Suarez now almost certainly double his original 20mil leaving good ol Andy who quite frankly is the piss on the wall and even he was trurning it round towards the end of last season. Net gain, not loss. {Ed002's Note - So have you ever visited these pages after a Liverpool game? You see Downing as the great saviour? How have Liverpool gotten on in the Champions League recently. He screwed up and even now Liverpool are suffering from the money wasted by him.}

Ed002, I love it when you talk dirty!!Nearly19

He clearly did piss the money away on buying the ''best of british'' Downing is doing ok now, but we could have bought some 1 FAR better from the continent for almost 20 million, I like Hendo but once again, some one from the continent would have been much much cheaper (Cazorla) for example.

I don't for 1 second buy into comolli being part of this. He had a great reputation before Liverpoola nd he was constantly at french german and swedish games scouting. He'd have preferred to bring in foreign players, I think the fact he was left by mutual consent says it all he clearly wasn't happy with Dalish's purchases, and his lack of influence.

You've got to love the drivel these "king kenny" lovers come up with

Ed, I don't need to suck it up and move on as I prefer Rodgers over Dalglish. But to put it all on Dalglish is totally wrong.
Let me remind you that you were the one who was supporting with zealous the arrival of Downing, Enrique, Henderson and Adam and plenty of us were seeing these people didn't deserve the fee(excluding Enrique) and if we were to go back to CL football we needed bigger names. Then we were saying for 20m we could have bought a far better player than Downing you were saying that Downing is the best we can get.
This year it is almost the same situation spending unwisely(Borini and Allen not much of CL calibre players). Yes he pissed all that money on the wall but it was clear they restricted him in buying mediocre(hoping to become superstars) players with low wages. Also with the most major flop, Carroll, Dalglish had little to do with as he was a caretaker at the time.
I believe the people who pissed the money on the wall mostly were the owners(by restricting the manager) and Comolli(by overpaying potentials).
Again I highly believe if we were pursuing Mata with all we had he was going to join us. Yet our primary target was Downing. Who in its right mind prefer Downing over Mata? Dalglish? I don't think so, it is just that the owners didn't want to give high salaries. Who in its right mind spend 35m for Carroll? Dalglish? I highly doubt he was the main culprit behind the dealing. {Ed001's Note - you clearly can't count, as you would know that Ed002 never did any such thing as support zealously.}

Shouldnt treat a club legend like this

All you people aren't proper Liverpool fans.

alonso to replace sahin

you heard it hear first

I've been hearing it off and on since Rafa got shut of Alonso and I still don't believe he'll be coming back.

Forgive my ignorance. Alonso was a fabulous player for us. Not watched Madrid play. Does he still have it?

I so hope your right buddy

He must be doing something right he was in the team of the year

Hi Eds - have a question about Sneijder, read that his agent was actually talking to a few liverpool reps about a transfer. Yes I know this extremely far-fetched but come on if galatasary have a chance surely we do?

Just wondering what your thoughts were on him and the possibility of this happening.

Imagine Gerrard and Sneijder together in the middle with Suarez and Sturridge playing off their passes.

This is the type of player we need at our club even if its simply for 1-2yrs so what we just want to get back to forth and this could be one of the players to help us.

What do you think the chances are of signing this guy and possibly getting him to take a pay cut in the process?

Great site {Ed002's Note - This has been done to death. Sounds like something from Twitter you have been reading.}

Galatasaray have a chance because they are prepared to pay silly wages

11 Jan 2013 14:32:58
EDS Dortmund will announce to return of Sahin at 6.30 do we not get any compensation as we paid a loan fee for him? {Ed002's Note - I don't know any details but it would be unlikely.}

We love throwing money away don't we

11 Jan 2013 14:22:52
Coates, Sahin and Pachecho all to leave by the end of the month just not good enough in my opinion sorry. If we can ship these out and bring Ince and another player in its good buisness by us. RED RUSS

11 Jan 2013 15:33:09
Coates looks like he will be a mega player for us in the near future. He's got great height and strength, puts himself about and is passionate when he plays! I haven't seen him put a bad game in yet! If he leaves, it should only be on loan! This guy has got class written all over him! The next Big Sami!

Coates never really looks comfy when he plays, a bit erratic

One down two to go RED RUSS

Once is one dimensional and overpriced. Coates is good potential - sleeps from time to time. Difficult to see where Dani will play - could do Suso's job. Once listens to mega mouth too much shouldn't get anywhere near the club.

Players who haven't had a fair chance yet imo but coates is going to be mega hard. pacheco never plays and sahins always on the bench!

11 Jan 2013 14:02:31
With Talk of Coates going out on loan, I would guess we have players lined up to come in to replace him as having Carra as the only backup would be as bad as our striker problems at the end of the last window, So what i want to know is the following eds,

Is Coates actively being lined up for a loan somewhere and are they looking for a replacement? it makes no sense to loan the guy out then bring someone in to do the same as Coates, sitting the bench and not playing? Unless the plan is to get Coates playing more and have a 4th CB coming in to replace Carra next season and work with the squad for the rest of this season? {Ed002's Note - Santos and Palermo have confirmed interest in buying Coates Napoli, Lazio and Sao Paulo are also reportedly interested. Juventus has been mentioned as a possible loan option.}

Andre Wisdom is a center back and a very good one that has already proven he has the mentality for the top level. Strong, quick, and doesn't give away stupid fouls. We don't need to sign a 4th CB if Coates leaves. Besides, LFC rate Coates and simply want him to mature and make fewer mistakes.

We have quality coming thru the youth system all across the back line. Jack Robinson is going to be a top LB. McAlves (Ryan McLaughlin) is going to be an even better RB. Glen Johnson can play LB/RB and Enrique has shown he can be a consistent quality option at LB/LW. We also have Flanno who is rock solid and Brad Smith who looks like a player to be. And a young CB in Sama.

Andre Wisdom was always a CB and I would really like to see him given a chance there. I'd say the same about Kelly but he seems more injury prone than Danny Agger.

Eds, how come all the posts have links to spam on them?
WelshBoyDave {Ed002's Note - I don't know what you are referring to Dave but I will pass the comment on.}

{Ed002's Note - Dave, it is being suggested that you may have a virus/trojan. You may wish to get the Dettol out.}

11 Jan 2013 14:21:16
Like that post, the word spam is somehow a link to an Iphone thingy,
WelshBoyDave {Ed002's Note - If it is just a "thingy" then it is harmless.}

Agree with Ed002 sounds like you have a virus there mate. Try "Avast" that's what I use and it does the job.

Ed002, correct again.
Cheers mate, all cleaned now!
WelshBoyDave {Ed002's Note - If you see a link to www.lustofasmallnun.com again, best leave it alone.}

Are you a Jethro Tull fan Ed002? {Ed002's Note - I could probably tolerate them in small doses. I recall seeing them in Oakland in 72 or 73.}

Bit like the liverpool-rumours site when we lose a game? Though in 72-73 I guess we didn't lose that many.

11 Jan 2013 13:50:10
If we get a big offer in for Suarez this window (40m plus) we should take it.

IMO he will want to leave in the summer to get CL football in any case.

FSG transfer policy of only buying youth at low prices is clearly not going to tempt any top players to the club so the likes of Reina and Suarez will no doubt think that the club is on a go slow to its objectives.

If Brenden is then given the money we can add depth to our squad which we still need, admit it won't be any quality but that's the way it is now at LFC

I would love Suarez to stay but where the club is its unrealistic to think we can keep our stars anymore.

This is not a Liverpool fan writing this with all respect to the site rival fans are on other teams pages rather than there own..bloody sad people.

We are 8 points adrift of a CL place and you thinkw e should sell Surarez? Seriously? Sell our best player and move even further down the epcking order? I will remind you that Manchster City had no problems attracting players when they weren't in the CL.
From the reports coming out now "Dont scare Surarez away etc." it is obvious he is leaving - we are clearly looking at Sousa (useless) and others to fill the gap already.

Completely agree, this must be why Suarez along with our star defender Agger have signed new long term deals with the club this season......

I'm surprised a man of your wisdom hasnt been employed by the club

In what way is this a rumour? No-one knows what Luis will want at the end of the season, probably not even Luis right now. But if he is that ready to leave for Champions League football, why did he sign a long term contract at the beginning of the season?

I assume your basing this on that "special report" have put up?

Just because they signed long term deals count for sod all. if someone offered you x amount moremoneyto sign so would you

Wht do suarez leaving posts keep being posted on the front page eds? {Ed002's Note - You want me to delete them?}

You do realize your opinion could be 100% opposite of Suarez's himself? He has shown nothing but loyalty to the club and if he really didn't see things going the other way with him being involved he wouldn't of signed a 5 year contract. He is hardly the man he is made out to be on the pitch.

There is no point in saying he will or he won't because it is completely unpredictable, and nobody know and you could say Suarez doesn't know himself!

We sold a sulking, past his best Torres for £50 million. Why would we sell Suarez for any less? He's one of the best players in the world.

I'm sure Madrid will come in for him in the summer and hopefully he won't want to leave. However, if he does, we shouldn't accept anything less than £65 million.

Adam

If Players like Agger just signed for money and didn't really care about the club why did he get YNWA tatooed on his knuckles, tired of dirty mancs coming on the page and trying to rubbish stir that suarez will be leaving, he wont.

Didn't Luis say recently he would only leave if the supporters didn't want him here any longer? Anyway, why sell one of our best players, what does that show to the players coming in? This is just stupid talk and maybe we need to trust our players more, if you are indeed a fan of LFC.

Keith

I don't wish for Suarez to leave as he is tremendous, but if offers from clubs like Real and Barca comes in, I would hope for him to go. It's like a relationship. You sometimes have to let the person you love go. I believe that will be great for his career and being with much better players around, he can push himself to another level. That is football that fans of this sport would love to see. I'm not slating the club as I sincerely think we're moving in the right direction, but let's face it, our squad at the moment is still years shy of either Real or Barca. However all said, I think he is an extremely loyal lad. You guys should see the way Ajax see him off when he was signed by us. He was loved by them, and now we carry on that torch.

Suarez has just signed a new long term contract.

11 Jan 2013 13:43:06
LFC to sell.................Reina and Suarez.. and use the money to rebuild completely.

We have allready started rebuilding with them in it

Please go back to your bottle of sstrong cider and have a long chat to youself

Does the Warden know you've escaped??

Poppycock!!

Now mate the ward sister is looking for you cos she knows you're off your meds again!

The Plank

Sounds like a good idea to me. first players we should buy would be a top class keeper (like reina) and a world class striker (like suarez). sounds like logic to me. away back to your bed, you're obviously not well!

11 Jan 2013 17:08:21
I don't think it's such a bad idea as it sounds. We are not a team playing to win the league were a team trying to get in the top 4. Suarez is world class and it will take 3 or 4 years to build a squad around him. With £65million minimum for the sales of these plus whatever budget is allowed on top, Rodgers could totally and completely re-build the team with players making a 'squad' capable of getting into the top 4 regularly. The money from champions league can then be re-invested and we'll then be able to attract top players again who are capable on taking us to the next level. The Michus and Hernandez type players are out there and I for one believe Rodgers could find them I don't want to see Suarez leave, I love him and he's one of the top 5 players in the world for me at present, but were not one of the top 50 teams in the world at present, so give the lad a break who posted this and get back in the real world, where money talks....

£65 million minimum? From Reina and Saurez? I love them both, but that's not what we would get for them. And you then want to replace them and build a Champions League squad with £65 million. Sorry mate, not a great idea. Look for bargains, yes, but keep your best players at all costs.

I think youre off your meds as well....

Newcastle have made an £9mil bid for Sebastien Coates with unsettled Fabrico Collocini expected to leave in this transfer window. Liverpool trying to get a replacement in for SC before agreeing to any deal with the Geordies.

Le Chiffre

Ridiculous post, we buy him for 7million, absolute bag of rubbish.. albeit it a sub against a raviness spurs side and down to 10 men I could see this lad would never make it in the PREM because I've seen the QE2 turn quicker and seen the most indecesive person in the world make better decisions than him so to bid 9million for someone who's played probably less than 20hrs of football in his Liverpool career is laughable.

So the club who held us to ransom for carroll when we were in need of a striker now want one of our players. Oh what to do. MonaghanRed

I'd bite anyone's hands off if they offered £9m for him!

Oh what to do! if i'm very wrong and they have bid flog him quick, bite there bloody hands off.lol

Th the 1st poster, I've never read such rubbish about Coates. you've used some tremendously ill informed hyperboles there lad. He's a class defender, it's still beyond me that skrtel is getting in ahead of him.

To the original poster, we have been linked to loaning him to NU for ages, because they needed the back up, now would be perfect to just loan him for experience. For the life of me I can't see why NU would panic buy from us after the Carrol affiar, especially when you have PSG with several quality CB many of whom are no where enar the starting lineup, NU better off going there

This post smacks of someone reading the stories on the web, putting 2 and 2 together an coming up with £9m, its not happening!

So £9 million for Coates is laughable? Not like what we've paid for some of our signings year after year? God almighty we paid Joe Cole £90000 a week for doing nothing.Remember Aquilani? And don't tell me he was a quality player please.I could right out a list of players a lot worse than Coates who cost as much or more.

The Plank

Seriously mate, are you demented? the bloke is absolute ****, everytime he plays he get gets taken apart, rash challenges, cost us goals notably against Anzhi and howlers against Hearts, thank **** for Suarez.. he's flat footed and slow mate. Gimme your bank details and if he plays 20matches for next season I'll personally credit your account with any amount of money.

If anyone doubts how good he is then watch the last copa america, never mind it was his debut but he alzo played against some of the best south american players in the world who he played them off the park, and after neymar being touted the best young player in that tournament, coates goes and wins the young player of the tournament so to the fools who have only seen him play bit parts for us and then judge him on that the you tool don't have a clue about football and should engage your brain and look up on the player before opening your mouths and sticking your foot in it, if he can beat neymar to the young player of the tournament then that alone should show you how good the lad is, maybe if BR gave him 10 games in a row then you would see the real coates who makes so many interceptions and wins so many headers and also who can score over head kicks, in my opinion he is better than skertal and agger, he is much strongerthan both of them, but you lot who don't have a clue do not realise he has not really had the chance to play 5 games in a row, a game here or there won't do any player any justice, if we lose him it will be like losing out on tom ince and buying andy carrol that how much of a mistake it will be, plus have any of you heard him moan about not playing 1st team footy, like tom ince did and look how it helped him, a loan would do him the world of good and he will show you divies how good he is

How long did it take Skrtel to reach the level he's at now? Give the lad time.

I agree that he got most talented youngster in that tournament but the Premierleague is'nt south america mate, don't give me that rubbish about playing 5 games in a row, he's physically strong YES but not apt enough or quick thinking mindset to play in the PREMIERSHIP you person.. he's never going to change how he holds himself up is he? he's awkward, end of and play him against Bales of this world and any Arsenal foward line and it will show you up mate. He's cack, give him time on the ball he's ok, I seen some of his distrubution in that tournament and thought nice, since he's came to us made again to look bad and unthoughtful about his football. Once that player always that player so do not hope for a resurgence after 5 games lads.. honestly!

Forget all the quality carling cup appearances he put in alst year, how well he plays for uruguay atc? His young boys performance. He made 1 mistake going early for the ball in the anzhi game other than that he was extremely competent, how about you go watch some reserve and uruaguay matches then come back and have the same low opinion.

Plank....that's precisely the point, ''WE'VE PAID'' not Newcastle! teams laughed all the way to the bankk when FSG took over and KK wanted the ebst of british.

Tell Newcastle that we value him at £35m, take it or leave it.

IMH

Lads if your gonna slate the lad at least have the bottle to leave your name on your post, so when he's playing for barca or real in a few years we can give you some abuse.Seb Coates is gonna be a beast of a centre half.

Growler

We've paid and so have masses of other clubs.I can if you like list Sir Alex's cock up signings that cost a sight more than we paid for Coates.You can go through the transfer dealings of any fair sized club and spot big fees paid for players that failed and also you can see other clubs paying out a lot for the same player on the principle that THEIR manager can make him into a star.Newcastle have lost Ba, Collocini is talking about leaving for personal reasons and they have injury problems.I'm not saying they are interested in Coates but clubs in trouble take big gambles.

I tend to think Moyes has done well in the windows, almost every player he gets he sells on for a profit, or gets the most out of them for several years. I don't really remember the last time Newcastle spent big? mostly cheap players from france and rest of continental europe. Same with Wigan(It's scary thinking if Wigan kept their players over the last few seasons where they'd be, such a feeder club)

We wouldn't need a replacement as we already have Agger skrtel carra wisdom Kelly.

9m they can take him

To the lad who said coates was cack and don't give him all that 5 games bull, you also said this is the prem and if you knew anything about the prem you would know there's a few south americans who play here, aguero and tevez, they are not sloppy and are top players, coates never gave them a sniff, get fact right, the lad deserves more of a chance than downing, but i bet your drooling over downing now, the lad needs a run of games to see if he can cut it, if you can't give him that then you want to jkump ship because we are rebuilding and its going to take a few years before we are up there again, with coates coming through it would be perfect . its a pity the lad who called coates cack did not give his name because when he goes and turns into a top player, because he has had plenty of football we can't call him stupid

Hi ed,
Just out of curiosity what clubs have an interest in Ben arfa. What sort of fee do you believe Newcastle would look for? Love for this guy to come to liverpool.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - He has been out injured and will not be moving this month. There has been no interest from Liverpool.}

That isnt actually what he asked for Ed. He said what kind of value would Newcastle be looking for. I think if we offered £5m for Ben Arfa and throw in Downing & Henderson, we would get the man. {Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to discussing the potential value of a player who won't be moving to Liverpool.}

Ben Arfa is a decent player, but more inconsistent than Downing, every good game he has, is usually followed by many mediocre ones. Nothing in this story at all, move on

Mr Arfa, please stop touting your son all over the internet...it's really rather crass.

Only problem with ben arfa is he'd get injured going on a question of sport!
unless the physio's need more practice we won't be going for him.

11 Jan 2013 11:48:13
I've just had a call off my mate who works at Newcastle utd asking who Sebastian Coates from Liverpool is and if he's any good. I asked why and apparently:

Liverpool have made an enquiry about Fab Coloccini's transfer fee after his tfr request has gone in this morning. They also asked about a condition about Coates going the other way on loan with a view to extending the loan next season {Ed002's Note - You think that Coloccini would leave Newcastle to sit on the bench at Liverpool? I rather suspect he will be heading out of the country at the first opportunity.}

11 Jan 2013 13:21:56
i don't think he would be sitting on the bench, he's a better defender than the clumsy skrtel if you ask me

And btw he hasn't handed in a formal transfer request he has asked to leave because of personal reasons in his private life and asked the club if the right offer comes in that suits him would they accept it.

Atleast research the transfer request, he has personal problems and wants to move back to Argentina!!!

Agree with the posts above, He has not handed in a request an has a personal 'Crisis' which means he needs to return to Argentina. He will not be signing for any European club

11 Jan 2013 11:20:42
hi eds is it hard for liverpool to sign south american players because of work permits etc. would the best time be the summer to try and get one in because they have more time to sort it out? {Ed002's Note - Work permits are an issue for all non-European players and it is the same for all clubs. The situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up, or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. Some players can obtain work permits through their parents or grand parents being English.}

Ed002 = Home Office

Hi Ed 2,
Not trying to be smart and am not knocking transfer policy but what is the point in having any scouts in South Amrerica when all we have signed is players known to Rodgers and one from the Netherlands so far with little or no hope of spending reasonable money until sky give us money to spend.

Many Thanks
Cormac {Ed002's Note - Clubs have scouting networks all over the world. A squad is limited to 25 senior players over 21 and 17 who are not homegrown. Not all South American players are as good as Suarez, Messi, Ronaldinho etc. - the Ukrainian, Russian, Japanese etc. leagues are full of mediocre Russian players. Typically only a handful of players change each season and Liverpool has several South American players on the books already. We know a great deeal about the South American players that were looked at in the summer but it is a little unfair to say Rodgers only buys players he knows. Yesil, Assaidi, Sahin and Sturridge were not players he had worked with before.}

11 Jan 2013 11:14:07
ed's will this statement on the LFC site make any difference to future transfer's and do you know what they were paid in the settlement.

In October 2010, Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Limited ("Liverpool FC") was sold to the Fenway Sports Group.

As a consequence of that sale, Thomas Hicks and George Gillett (being the former owners of Liverpool FC) made a number of allegations and claims against Sir Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow and Ian Ayre (being the company directors responsible for the sale of Liverpool FC to the Fenway Sports Group). Those allegations and claims were denied by Messrs Broughton, Purslow and Ayre.

The allegations, claims and denials resulted in legal proceedings being commenced.

The parties have now agreed a settlement (the terms of which are confidential). All claims and allegations made against Messrs Broughton, Purslow and Ayre have been withdrawn by Messrs Hicks and Gillett and all legal proceedings between the parties concluded.

The parties will not be making any further statement to the press. {Ed002's Note - No, it is not anything directly to do with the club, nor is the much more significant matter of the case against RBS.}

If you read yesterday's Echo newspaper you'd have learnt that Hicks and Gillet have been told by the High court that they have to lodge £1 million pounds with the court before they will be allowed to proceed with their case re the sale of Liverpool FC to FSG.Apparently these 2 so called multi millionaires cannot raise £1 million between them.Either they have fallen on very hard times or they are liars.Make your own decision on this.

The Plank

They couldnt afford to take the case to court old hicks and gillett so they dropped the case. That's my understanding of it, was around sueing the directors for $1billion. Just means no more court cases with anyone involved with Liverpool past or present!

11 Jan 2013 10:30:31
hi eds and Reds, I don think Ince wil be arriving as his dad has convinced him to stay at Blackpoool. While Suarez may leave if v don't qualify for champions league this season according to . so can you suggest any arrivals?? {Ed002's Note - Sturridge, Ince plus possibly a player on loan.}

Suarez will leave according to who? You don't quote any source maybe because you don't have one other than your imagination.

The Plank

Yeah sounds about right doesn't it! I mean why would you want your son playing for a top team in the premier league for a manager who has a great reputation for giving talented youngsters a chance to show there ability and shine when you could be playing for a seaside team on the coast in a division below challenging yourself against the mighty Birmingham, wolves and such other superpowers. Makes real sense that. Oh and forgot to mention the small thing of probably trebbling his wages durrr.

Suarez will leave according to a full stop ?

11 Jan 2013 10:22:03
Ed001 and Ed002 i will ask you two in particular because 001 seems to be the Liverpool guru and 002 the Chelsea guru. But what is going on with Torres? Are these rumours about him being miserable at Chelsea and wishing he was back at Liverpool true? Do you believe under any circumstances that there is a chance for Torres to return to Liverpool? Im not saying i'd want it to happen. I'd just appreciate hearing your thoughts instead of reading daily mail headlines....

Aussie Geoff {Ed002's Note - I have no idea about his inner feelings. I don't see a return to Liverpool this month but it is very likely he will leave Chelsea in the summer still.}

Then he will get fed up about being at liverpool and then he will move and become fed up again........whats the point? Suarez is 10 times better than torres!

I've heard a lot of rumours of players coming in. On a serious note who do you see joining us before end of window. Thanks eds. {Ed002's Note - Sturridge, Ince plus possibly a player on loan.}

Moussa sow aswell

Eds, what's the point of this rumour page if all you keep saying is Sturridge, Ince and a player on loan.

Who is the player on loan that we have been linked with?

I find you very frustrating, I bet your parents and girlfriend do too

{Ed002's Note - The purpose of the page is for supports and fantasists to post their rumours resulting from a screwed up piece of paper discarded in a phone booth or an overheard conversation between the Director of Football for Juventus and and Pere Guardiola at a bus stop in Knotty Ash. If someone asks my opinion about who will be moving to Liverpool I will give it - regardless of whether you like it or not. As for my parents, my father died 25 years ago and my 87 year old mother lives in a retirement community in Marin County. My wives would be seriously pissed off with me if I had a girlfriend. I was caught before waxing someone else's T-Bird so I won't be doing it again.}

ed could you clear if there is any truth to assaidi loan rumor
vivek12011 {Ed002's Note - I understand there is interest from Gala but I am not aware how Liverpool feel about it.}

How about the ajax link too ed? they wanted him in the summer {Ed002's Note - Reight now I only know of confirmed interest from Turkey.}

EDS,
Any interest from LFC in any Barca youngsters for Loan this transfer window. (Tello, Thiago, Deulofeu, etc.) Imagining that a run in a first team would benefit both sides. Hopefully a few loans will be sorted before February.
-JM {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Tello in the past but I don't see a loan to Liverpool happening this month. Deulofeu is one of the players interesting another EPL team but his focus is on the long term - sign a new deal or move on. His concern surrounds being in the B team.}

hi ed002,

curious to what the situation is with oussama assaidi as many other sites are saying clubs are interesting in getting him on loan and not sure what to think. Also do you know for any reason why he has not featured in the prem as much as we would like to see this season?

could you possibly shed some light on these,

thanks

simplestiltskin {Ed002's Note - He is a squad member and his chances will come when the manager sees the time as right. I would expect the club to be keeping a cose eye on his performances in South Africa.}

Good morning eds,

I overheard part of a conversation between two Milan executives a couple of days ago where they were discussing whether they would allow ascerbi to leave Milan and go to Liverpool. Have you heard anything about this? I only heard part of the conversation so I may not know the full details but thought I would share anyway.

Nevada {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about it, Italian footie is really not my area at all.}

You heard part of a conversation between 2 milan executives ? nice one, made me chuckle. ps: i tapped into a conference call with John Henry, Tom Werner & Brendan Rogers this morning and heard them mentioning Ken & Aguero, not sure what to make of it all

He regularly posts with info from Italy, why mock him?

Liverpool have reportedly joined Manchester United in showing interest in signing Rayo Vallecano striker Leo Baptistao.

Very good buy if its true we can get him for only £1.6m. He is young and certainly a talent.

BigD

Cant be that good, no one has herd of him

11 Jan 2013 13:36:53
Big D has heard of him. And he can spell.

Hi eds
I just was watchin to fox soccer report and danny dichio claimed that his sources are telling that sam allardyce is not happy with andy carroll and wants out of westham annd back to liverpool and as we all know newcastle want him and liverpool are asking for hatem ben arfa. Is this true.
Persianlfc {Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any interest in Ben Arfa.}

Sam'll have a meltdown as he always does, he'll say some really uninspiring and downright disrespectful things regarding both players and employers, lose 8 matches on the trot and be sacked before the season's out. So we'll let WHU's new manager sort out the Andy Carroll situation.

Eds,
-Heard that if Tom Ince signed, he'll be use to alternate with Sterling on wing. if Ince deals cannot be completed until next week, lfc are willing to wait until June. Any truth?

-How wages we can reduce after we get rid of Sahin, Pacheco, Wilson & pacheco?

-is there any truth that LFC spoke to Wesley Sneidjer agent about a move? I think he would be perfect to alternate with Gerrard on advance position.

-any name other than Jeffren that Lfc interedted to make on loan?

thanks Eds.

Youssef. {Ed001's Note - impossible to say if that will be the end of the Ince deal, a lot can happen in 6 months, such as a new target emerging. As things stand, I would not expect it to be the end of it until he moves elsewhere.
It will be a significant saving on wages, but it is not really of any consequence, that is not the object of their sales. It is simply their performance that makes them available.
As far as I am aware, there has been no interest from us regarding Sneijder, he is simply not our main priority right now.
Jeffren is the only one I know of, at the moment.}

11 Jan 2013 02:24:08
papers reporting Darren Bent to Liverpool is close.
Ed, have you heard anything on this?
NiRed {Ed001's Note - nothing mate, never do hear it but the papers keep on making it up anyway.}

Didn't Bent get injured against Bradford?
Why would we touch him.

11 Jan 2013 01:44:07
Hey ed's regarding the rumours on Ajax and Galatasaray being interested in Assaidi are they true or is it just lazy journalism. I find it hard to believe that we would be willing to let someone go so quick and lose that depth that we have in the position he plays in.

AndyKopLiverpool {Ed001's Note - he is at the ACON, so not sure, but the fact he is there suggests it is nonsense.}

Arda turan will sign for Liverpool before January ends. Info comes from a very reliable source who is in the know about movement in and out of athletico. Price of 17.8 million has been agreed between the 2 clubs.REDMICK

Imagine if we had that amount of money to spend... maybe then we wouldn't need to have loan deals. maybe your ITK guy needs to take a very cold shower as he's full of hot heat!! BOOM!

danny b

Makes sense, if we got rid of sahin then i could see it happening cause we'd be short a midfielder but i can't see him signing if he's going to be doing what sahin has done, which is not get a game over joe allen.

Why were Schalke rebuffed then? I mean if Athletico tell Schalke he isn't for sale in January, surely they aren't going to change their mind, just to accommodate you lot.

Melbourne CFC

I'm pretty sure Liverpool don't have that kind of money

11 Jan 2013 08:00:57
So is that a payment of £17.8M spread over 10 years? Where is the money? At least get real before posting nonsense

I smell bull - rubbish

Ha that's brilliant.

Believe me this won, t happen

He is going to Arsenal

Clearly rubbish - we just do not have 18m spare.

I take it this is "definitely going to happen", "100pc" etc. What tosh.

I'm sure fsg will just find £18m in lose change under the couch

We are looking to get rid of Sahin to free up wages for Moussa Sissoko. I know most people think we have missed the boat on this, but believe me talks have been going on for weeks. Pinnochio.

Don't lie Pinocchio. You don't want a longer nose

Your nose must be 6ft long at this stage

Campbell

Pinnochio's nose got longer every time he told a lie.How's yours?

The Plank

And by how much did your nose grow after posting this?

Your nose is growing as you type!

Outstanding lie...you use the phrase "believe me" and then signed off Pinnochio...lol.

You'll be telling us next that your a real boy!

Hey eds, great site is there any chance michu might join Liverpool in this or the next transfer window, I've seen this tumour in a couple of papers

Dan {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely mate, we had an interest in the summer but Swansea nipped in ahead of us. We missed our chance I am afraid.}

What an addition he would have been. the guys fantastic! 2 million for 16 goals so far? f*ck my life!!

danny b

SWANSEA have said" Michu could go this window, but it won't be anything less than £15m."

REDMAN

Wow - can't believe we even considered it and missed out!

Absolutely unbelievable
