Hey ed,
I've you say you would go for matuidi potentially in the summer, do the club have any actual interest or is that just your opinion? I think him and hendo would cover so much ground in midfield. Also have we received the UCL prize money that was being upheld since we passed the investigation?
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is my choice and he is just what Liverpool need in a midfield player. The CL money has been paid which helps the club greatly.}

Ed2 do you think we will go for him?? He is top quality pace and power
Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Quite frankly I wish I had said nothing.}

Hey Eds,

We don't get much French Football over here in Australia, just wondering how Tiago Ilori is progressing with Bordeaux? Is he an option for us bring back into the first team next season?

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Ilori was injured for much of the season and out of form and in the reserves when he was fit. Recently he has done well enough for Real Sociedad to show interest. Liverpool has shown little or no interest in him since he joined. Apparently Rodgers sends him an occasional text message to wish him well when he is playing.}

Realistically, what do you expect will happen to Ilori Ed002? I think he will be sold this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I can only speculate AG but I rather suspect that a move to Real Sociedad would suit him - as long as the club do not put an excessive value on him. The club needs to talk to all of the loan players and figure out a better approach to managing players who are on loan. They need a career roadmap and they need to understand if Liverpool has plans for them or not. Liverpool have three centre backs out on loan (Ilori, Coates, Paez) and Toure, Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel plus the youngster (Jones). That is 8 first team centre backs and I am sure there are more in the Under 21s. I think Coates will certainly move on from Liverpool but there seems to be no urgency for buying any new CB.}

Hi eds is there any news on konoplyanka? Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He will be out of contract and moving in the summer. Wolfsburg, Roma, Spurs, Shakhtar and Bayer Leverkusen have shown recent interest in Konoplyanka who is able to sign a pre-contract with any non Ukrainian side. Spurs and Roma have put the most effort in to trying to put a deal in place for the summer.}

With him turning down roma and saying he wants to play in england do we hold any interest at all?
Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Gday Eds,
So we've got plenty of names to go forward with in most positions but I can't help thinking we'd be short a left-footer. Moreno can't play 60 games next season. (yes we're going to win everything)

Any thoughts on left-sided players being looked at or that you'd like?
I don't want Ayew, Milner could play there but isn't left-footed.

Also, Turan wold be great but where would he fit into our current system?

Thanks a billion!

{Ed001's Note - there is interest in Garbutt from Everton who is out of contract in the summer from us and Spurs. Everton are trying to get him to sign a new contract though. Turan would replace Lallana for me, but it seems a poor way to manage our squad.}

Can we even afford turan? Read somewhere that he might cost 40 million € . Is a fantastic player though. Should have got him when he moved from turkey
Anf secondly replace Lallana? Any clubs showing interest in him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is any chance of Lallana leaving this summer. I have explained the situation with Turan. And you are right, he would be expensive.}

Hey eds, any update on Brad Smith's contract situation? Does he have a future at LFC or do u expect him to move on? Hope he gets a chance as i feel heis a much better option than Enrique at LWB and LB.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - last I heard he was likely to move on, but I don't know if he has changed that over the course of this season. He was being given the season to prove himself.}

11 Mar 2015 11:37:27
He didn't sign the contract LFC wanted him to, so he was re-called from his loan and asked to play in the reserves. I expect him to leave this summer.

Hi eds what's the situation wit Ings? Are we the front runners to sign him in the summer or have we slipped down the pecking order with Man U and city both interested in him? Also do u perhaps think rodgers has made a mistake with the signing of origi? Don't want to sound to harsh on the lad before he has even kicked a ball for us but he's not a prolific scorer and doesn't play the we want strikers to play looks like a ballotelli type and we all know how that turned out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Ings was keen to move to us in January, we still seem ahead right now. I haven't seen enough of Origi to judge him, but nothing I saw impressed me at all.}

11 Mar 2015 06:49:28
Agree with Ed001 about Origi. Watched him start two games in 2015 which i think Lille won one and lost the other. The lad is either not good enough or simply his head is already at LFC, which indicates a bad attitude. No effort on his part and Brendan calls him a world class talent, a word thrown around so loosely nowadays. Even his link up play was distorted and positioning was just awful. I really think he needs maybe another 2 seasons out on loan before he has a chance in LFC's first team. Lille may be playing badly but there is no reason for any player to just go through the motions like Origi is right now. Not to mention he has not score in nearly 4 months now i think.
