Niklas Sule is a reported January transfer target for those of you who don't know he is a 6"4 CB, 20yrs old, plays for Hoffenheim and is actually a good player with huge potential.

The last time a 6"4 giant joined us, it failed spectacularly - Coates.

Wasn't Coates 6'6? I believe Hyppia was 6'4 though!

From The Echo

That's right, today Liverpool are linked with a move for Roberto Lewandowski. And it's all thanks to Jurgen Klopp.

We all know how much Lewandowski loves Klopp, and we're sure the feeling is mutual. But does he really love him enough to leave Bayern Munich for Anfield?

And could the Reds even afford the millions of pounds it would take for Bayern to even consider doing a deal?

Apparently so, according to German newspaper Bild, they report that Klopp has a plan of action, and the money, to bring Lewandowski to Anfield in the summer.

And continuing on with the Bundesliga roadshow - and the media's determination to link Klopp with every player in Germany's top division - it's on to Schalke, where Leroy Sane has been catching the eye this season.

The 19-year-old has scored five goals in 15 games for his club and is thought of as one of the best young players in Germany.

So journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft expects Klopp and Liverpool to go "big time" for his signature, naturally.

{Ed001's Note - Bild is a tabloid, so think Daily Mirror when you read their rubbish and you will realise it is not to be bothered with.}

Garbage made up posts to get you to click the link.

Jan Åge Fjørtoft is a moron who will say/write anything he feels and can't be believed, he is just looking for likes/attention all the time. Allthough he does have some inside info from Germany from time to time, don't listen to a word he says.

Spot on Stoupid, I read an article that he wrote predicting that Klopp would sign X, Y and Z and bring the glory days back to Anfield, the guy just cannot stop writing rubbish.

Come on, it was a rumours article.

Keep your eyes open kids.

Anyway, this is how desperate the Echo has become.

They even have rumour links on the official club page, which is desperate (not that I'm criticising these pages of course)

Eds, Real AG or anyone else that may know, what is the situation with Brad Smith. Is he a Liverpool player or not? I thought he had left but I read in another thread he is still a Liverpool player but in contract dispute. Be interested to know what the dispute is and whether it is something that can be resolved with Klopp now in charge and he may be given a chance to impress or if it is essentially too late for that and the bridges have been burnt.

{Ed001's Note - he is still registered to Liverpool. He was initially frozen out after refusing a new contract.}

Thanks Ed001. Are there any other young LB at the club that could be considered for first team action? I am totally out of the loop since LFC TV stopped being free.

{Ed001's Note - from what I have been told, no, left back and centre back are the two areas most lacking in the near future. Academy wise I mean.}

You surprise me Ed001. I thought Cleary, Randall and Brewitt were all highly thought if - especially Cleary.

{Ed001's Note - not close to the first team though mate, they are a couple of years away. I was talking about players being ready to step in now.}

Brad Smith's is a club matter I think. Regardless of who the manager is, the decision has been made to not play him. I assume he or his agent has really pissed of the club. The same goes for Enrique.

As for left backs, Joe Maguire is the natural choice, but even when he was at U18s and making a step upto the U21s competition free, he just didn't look that particularly convincing. He has bulked up over the summer, and I haven't seen any U21s matches this season, but up to last season, there was nothing to suggest he was ready, and was looked upon as one of the weakest players on the pitch. Sorry I have been brutal here.

I was under the assumption Lloyd Jones was before his loan, training with the first team and somewhat close when Rodgers was manager? And in all fairness we've had a few centre backs from our youth team play in the first team, the problem was Rodgers put Wisdom and Kelly at RB and they're now stuck there.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - your assumptions are all wrong. Lloyd Jones had been close but then a closer look said he needed first team football as he was nowhere near ready for us, hence the loan. Rodgers was not responsible for putting either Wisdom or Kelly at right back.}
