I eds i would just like to ask you if Muller would come to us, nothing has been said about him and us in any way but i do find it strange that after we get Klopp he comes out and talks about the prem,

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid that the Liverpool fans seem to be getting rather carried away over such matters. There has been EPL interest in him in the past - but not from Liverpool.}

It's called a coincidence, mate.

Tell ya what, Muller might come to us in the future if we win the Champions League, Bayern wane a little, and we can match the wages offered by the likes Real Madrid & Man City.

It's possible, but not very likely at this particular juncture.

We don't need to sign Muller we need to find the next Muller and make them better.

Just read that Liverpool are interested in Leno of Leverkusen, and Karius of Mainz, I know about Leno but was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about Karius. Any info would be muchly appreciated, thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Mainz's Loris Karius was of interest to a number of clubs last January - and that included Borussia Dortmund. Previously played for Manchester City reserves and is certainly well thought of.}

Reports that lewandowskis agent says his future is with klopp. The most laughable rumour ever. He's willing to leave klopp for Munich but wants to leave Munich for klopp at Liverpool haha!

I posted a joke comment last week about when we could start asking when we would be signing levandowski, these papers are unbelievable, literally they will say anything to sell a few copies!

Genuinely think we've got a better chance of signing Messi at the moment. Who knows he might want a challenge aha

It was only a matter of time before he was linked. Mind, lots said Klopp would never join Liverpool, now look.

Not to give any undue credence to the rumour but Lewandowski is apparently superfluous to requirements at a Bayern so I suppose, whilst this particular story may not have any basis, that it's not impossible.

{Ed002's Note - This would be to replace which of the players Klopp has yet to meet - Sturridge or Benteke?}

11 Oct 2015 17:51:13
And we have said on here before, BR didn't have the credentials to pull these kinds of players but Klopp most certainly does - & the reported fee of £35-37m is clearly not beyond what the club are willing to spend.

Ed2, I know you will possibly vehently disagree with the proposition. Just saying it's not as untenable a proposition as some might say. As I say, there may not be anything behind this particular rumour but let's say we lose Origi and Mario, (&Yesil; and Sinclair doesn't stay). So we'd have Ings, Sturridge, and Benteke - & some others perhaps yet to break into the first team. If Sturridge has further injury issues he is pretty much redundant. I genuinely hope not, because in form he is the best striker we have - & he seems a nice fella that doesn't deserve it. So far, I've preferred Ings to Benteke, but Benteke has yet to settle in & again hopefully he will do. Klopp may get the best out of him - & frankly from the others, too, but if not it's no use flogging a dead horse. There were always questionarks over him, to which I've said on here before, I think he can overcome with his movement and power. I'm digressing, but let's say we are left with those 3, one is injured, one gets banned - then what? Lewandowski in addition to the others. That gives great options. Consider City had Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic, & Negredo (okay, it didn't work out too well for all of them) I would venture it's not untenable that we would have a space for Lewandowski. This is all hypothetical at the moment of course, but let me say our most in form striker currently is Ings which puts things into perspective.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - So you postulation is four or more forwards are moved on and then from somewhere the club raises €50M or whatever it would take to buy the player to be, what, fourth choice behind Sturridge, Benteke and Ings all playing for one position? Selling those others and Coutinho would raise the money for Lewandowski and the additional fees. Leaves Liverpool screwed in terms of FFP still. And of course the defence will not have been improved at all.

Knock yourself out.}

I think what I wanted to say is that with a manager of Klopp's stature at the club, it may be that players like Lewandowski may now be attracted to our club.

I was suggesting a wide range of polarised reasons why the club may be interested, from replacing players who may not work out for various reasons on the one end of the spectrum to having 4 great strikers in the squad on the other.

Maybe the reasons why are irrelevant, & whilst it's early days to be conjecturing about how successful the club may become under Jurgen Klopp, who might go, who might join, I just don't agree that we wouldn't be attractive to a player like Lewandowski - as some on here like to believe.

I'm just saying that nothing is impossible, including that FFP may not always be a reality.
