Liverpool have reportidly struck a deal with Barcelona for the sale of Javier Mascherano. Reports from "Ole" in Spain claim that a deal has been struck, with Barcelona set to sign the midfielder for €15m plus Alexandar Hleb. Should this be true, a deal could be complete in the next few days.

Forget Balotti, Turan, Defour and Hleb. The next signing after Brad Jones will be Steven Jovetic!! Trust me this will happen. YNWA JF96

What you think of Poulson then Ed? i'm pretty pleased think hes a perfect replacement for mash he seems just as good and cost bugger all. Don't get me wrong i would rather another mid like gerrard who can tackle, score and pass but if your playing a defensive game i think he's ideal would still prefer to see another attacking mid tho shelvey looks great i think we could have the next stevie g there and with martin kelly the next carra. I also got a funny feeling the takeover will be complete in the next 3 days my reason being since being announced our transfer activity went dead and everyone said nothing would happen until new owners took over then all of a sudden today we finally sign poulson apparently up the bid for the boro keeper and more gossip about strikers. I'm feeling confident we will announce that a new owner is in place very shortly.

LFC Takeover Continuous….

Kenny Huang says; it is certainly not my own money, but money in an investment consortium. Then he says the (LFC) board given us a positive response, there are still plenty of unknowns but I am 50% confident we will acquire the club, answer in 10 days'.
So hopefully in a 10 days time we should know if he "Kenny Huang" percentage increases in taking over LFC.

The Syrian bid to buy English Premier League (EPL) soccer team Liverpool FC is backed by the Sharjah royal family.

Businessman Yahya Kirdi is representing members of the ruling al-Qasimi family –understood to be the third largest in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – during the protracted negotiations with Liverpool. Kirdi has reportedly been in negotiations with Liverpool to secure its sale since last October.

The al-Qasimis have ruled Sharjah for centuries and are believed to be current Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett's preferred bidders. The family are understood to have access to a vast amount of wealth.

A US$600 million deal has reportedly been struck in principle that would see Liverpool's debts to the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Wachovia cleared, as well as work on a stadium begin.

"Plans are in place to close the deal shortly," a source close to negotiations recently revealed. "A proof of funds will accompany the closing of the deal in a form requested by (Liverpool chairman) Martin Broughton, the club's board and the owners.

"Everyone is focused on getting this done so that the next era in the history of Liverpool can begin."

However, Kirdi has also confused the matter by reportedly being quoted as saying that he wants two months to consider completing the takeover.

To the guy who asked about pacheco . . Regardless of time played in England, Pacheco is classed as home grown because of his age.

Not quite true. Pacheco is classed as an U21. However as he has been with us for 3 years we can choose to declare him as a home grown player if we need to in order to make up the required quota.
When we submit our 25 man squad we must include 8 home grown players. If we have 8 then Pacheco will be classified as U21 as we can have as many U21 players as we wish on top of the 25 man squad. If we have less than 8 then some U21's that have been registered with English or Welsh FA's for at least 3 years will be used to make up the quota.

who ever posted this dont u mean first 12? cos obviously ul have pepe in goal, and it doesnt take a genius to count 12 players lol. .but i hope the deal to take masch to barca is a straight swap for ibrahimovic, but according to reports its likely to be £15 million and hleb, if so we found our new number 7!

on another note id love to see turan at anfield, is the type of player we need and could really make the difference between a decent and a good season

And please let these storys of the imminent take over be true, followed by the signing of Aguero

Spanish giants Barcelona are set to land Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano, after striking a deal with the Reds, according to reports.

The deal will be comprised of a player-plus-cash offer, with the Anfield outfit set to receive midfielder Alexander Hleb and approximately €15 million (£12.3 million) for the Argentina captain, according to Ole.

The report also claims that the player's agent has already met with Barcelona officials, and confirmation of the deal could come in the next few days.

Mascherano had recently expressed his desire to leave the Reds and join the Spanish side, or reunite with former coach Rafael Benitez at European champions Inter.

The Blaugrana were seeking another midfielder, after Yaya Toure departed the Camp Nou for Manchester City during the summer.

Unfortunately Mascha isnt going anywhere as inter dont have enough money and barca want fabregas and are willing to wait for him. Takeover will be completed just after the transfer window closes, but funds will be available before hand and roy is looking for a striker for around £20 mil mark, Arda Turan is not coming to Liverpool this season as he has played in the europa league so he is cup tied. heard Bellamy's name being thrown around alot so that could be a possible deal.

from a reliable source the reds have accepted an 18million deal plus hleb from barca. Hleb will be unveiled to the anfield crowd before the ARSENAL match.

Hong Kong press reports are quoting Kenny Huang as saying that he believes that his consortium has a 50% chance of winning control of Liverpool, with a deal expected as early as October.

While Huang is also quoted as saying "the Anfield board had accepted his group's proposals." he insists that "NO bid has been submitted to chairman Martin Broughton, the club or its lenders and that the group had 'some way to go' before they would be able to table an offer for George Gillett and Tom Hicks' shares."

"Our interest in buying LFC has been recognised by the board," he said.

"At the same time, we have continued our work - researching and evaluating, the overall progress is good. However, there are quite a number of strong competitors. So there are still a lot of unknowns."

"We have put forward many proposals and we have the answer: the board has accepted our proposal and wish us to continue the process. We have a reply in less than 10 days. "There is still some way to go. It was that we asked the board to let us know whether our proposal would be overall acceptable and the board has said yes."

Huang also revealed that investors from the Middle East and North America are battling against him in the race to takeover the club with any successful deals set to be finalised in October, when the Royal Bank of Scotland plan to recall Liverpool's £237million debt.

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THERE IS HOPEFULLY A BIDDER IN THERE WHO WE CURRENTLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!

12 Aug 2010 23:11:58
Just heard that the Royal Bank of Scotland have had enough of Tom Hicks and George Gillets obvious stalling of the takeover nd have decided that if Liverpool has not been sold by the end of august the will be hit with a 20 million penalty.

"Liverpool's is not a long-term business model," said Philip Long of PKF accountants, who conduct an annual survey into football finance. "There simply is not a happy ending to leveraged buy-outs. The burden of the interest outweighs any profits the club make, and that becomes unmanageable.

"The two Americans hanging on and seeing their debt refinanced by RBS, continuing to pay interest, is a far worse scenario than the bank taking over the running of the club. The debt burden will just increase to a point where the interest is not being serviced any more. The ultimate end game, if Hicks and Gillett cling on, is that Liverpool goes bust."

Meanwhile, Huang could come face to face with one of the American owners he is trying to oust from Anfield at a London conference later this year, writes Paul Kelso.

Mascherano to be sold for 30M
Bolatti of Fiorentina will be brought in, poulsen wont be first choice. Also Connor Wickham or Lukaku will be bought both worth between 10 to 12M

We're not signing Bolatti, hes a pile of wank who cant even make it in to Fiorentina's first team and only managed to make 15 appearances for porto in three seasons.

Some people on here are STUPID!, Really Jones is coming in for Back-up for Reina so we have another Home-grown player to our list. This means if it is under 3Mil we will make money from Cav's sale. Meaning abit more money for someone else. Like a foreign outfield player!

Kenneth Huang, the Chinese investor heading a consortium to buy Liverpool FC, says he is 50% confident their bid will be successful.

Speaking to the Chinese magazine Love Basketball, Huang says their proposal has been recognised by the Liverpool board but there are a number of strong competitors.

Huang said "Our competitors are strong, and we do not have enough experience, especially we need to understand more on the big teams' relationship with the media in the UK. Also we are not well prepared enough on the triangular relationship between the shareholders, debtors and the Board. We still have a lot to do, and we do not have a great advantage as it was reported. We still have a lot to learn and review."

Asked who those competitors are, Huang explained "From Middle East and from North America. The Indians have withdrawn."

"I feel everyone has a chance. Every bidder would feel they have an advantage so it is hard to say we are in the lead. We shall strengthen our communication with the Board and the Bank."

Huang's consortium face competition from the bid of Yahya Kirdi, whose bid is reportedly backed by members the ruling al-Qasimi family of Sharjah.

The Liverpool board are expected to meet before Sunday's match with Arsenal to discuss the proposals they have received.

Any takeover of the club isn't expected to be completed until October.

Poulsen will replace Javier Mascherano in the Reds midfield. It now appears Barcelona are interested in signing the Argentinian captain after Inter Milan's interest cooled following their failure to offload Mario Ballotelli to Man City. And with Barca missing out on signing Cesc Fabregas, and losing Yaya Toure to City earlier in the summer, Mascherano fits the bill for the Catalans.

The Daily Mail reports Barca are prepared to offer former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb (right) as part of deal to take Mascherano to the Nou Camp.

The 29 year old attacking midfielder spent last season on loan to Stuttgart and spent three years with Arsenal from 2005-2008.

Meanwhile, Reds midfielder Nabil El Zhar has told Moroccan media he expects to leave Liverpool before the window closes, with Premier League newboys Blackpool one of many options.

Pepe is staying at Liverpool, when the chips were down at the end of last season he was the first to commit to the club. he even almost pulled a masterstroke by flogging Fabregas to Barca in front of millions!
Any talk of him going to Arsenal is bull, they couldn't afford him anyway, Wenger is a minge bag!!

12 Aug 2010 21:56:14
If arsenal are serious about the bid for pepe reina of around £23million, then why is their 2nd choice mark schwarzer? who they have offered fulham around £2million? what i don't undersrand is 1). if arsenal have £23million to spend on a keeper, why is their 2nd chioce keeper only valued around £2-£3million? surely they could get another very good keeper if they have that kind of money to spend, and probably only need to spend around 10million for the 2nd best keeper in the world, as pepe reina is by a mile the best keeper in the world and would cost at least double the next best. 2).why would LFC sell the best keeper in the world? 3). pepe reina has just signed a new contract, so why sign a new contract, then consider leaving?. .
just arsenal fans wishful thinking, they can see reina is the best. same as all fans, we all want the best players at our clubs.
also a certain newspaper loves to try and unsettle our best players and they have almost run out of players to write about. . Torres-said he is staying. .gerrard-staying. .mascherano-almost certain to leave. .NO Stories to write about, so let's try and unsettle pepe reina. PEPE REINA IS STAYING, so let's stop this rumour.

Poulson is replacement for Mascherano, we know that, we also have Lucas who can play holding Midfield. Personally I think Roy will try to make a marque signing, this will be a forward with the Masc money. Insua & Aurelio could be our left backs, if insua goes we will go into the market again.
Not fact or any inside source, just common sense!!

This isnt a rumour just a few facts i wanted to throw out there.

10 days ago tommorrow the first mainstream reports "confirming" kenny huangs interest in buying LFC hit the press, reported on SSN re his idea for purchasing the club.

late that night news broke that LFC have contacted the premier league about an impending transfer of owners and as per the new rules (implemented since june 23rd) "clubs wishing to sell the owning stake or seek majority investment must submit a request to the premier league so that under the owners and diretors test the league can approve/reject the sale, min of 10 days notice must be given" 10 days coincendently is friday the 13th.

Huang supposedly releases statement saying that he wants a decision to be made in the "next 10 days"
(friday the 13th)
see were this is going!! since the first story broke about huang numerous storys have broke regarding a group of investors fronted by yaha kirdi. in all the statements he has released he confirms he "has been negotiating directly with hicks & gillett and an agreement has almost been finalised. He has never mentioned Barcap RBS Broughton or any of the other partys who would also need to be involved in the negotiations.
From what i can gather and its been said on many an occasion, it is believed Kirdi is nothing more than a false bid thrown into the equation to either slow the huang bid up or drive up the value of their offer.

I have been speaking to a friend who is a journo for a regional newspaper and he has said he feels there is so much cloak and dagger goings on at anfield that unlike recent times it is nigh on impossible to get any solid info. He has however said that as far as he is aware the sale process is well underway and should be near fruition. I asked if a sale prior to the weekend is likely he said, it is in theory (pointed to man city takeover as proof that if kept quiet it can seem its happened over night) he did however say that there is still plenty that could supper the deal, such as H&G stepping in and pressing the board on "kirdis bid" there also the issue regarding the league and their tests. His advice to me was - sit back stop pulling your hair out and just relax. It WILL happen its just when keep an eye on the news and your fingers crossed and with a bit of luck new owners could be there in time to sign a few players.

so as im sure those of you out there who like me have been stressing on a daily basis and checking every known media source forum and sports site for info will be ill be watching sundays game with a eye on the stands for somone new in tom hicks seat!!

Also can we stop commenting about the kenny dalglish being "irish" thing, ok we get the point the idiots messed up but can we just get back to transfer rumours.

* Pacheco is under 21 so he doesn't need to be registered as part of the 25 man squad, but if he is still playing in england when he turns 21 then he will be eligible to be registered as homegrown due to the fact that he will have played at least three season in england between the age of 16 and 21.

12 Aug 2010 21:15:11
OK fellow Liverpool fans. Here is what I reckon will happen in terms of transfers for the rest of the summer:

Christian Poulsen is the want-away Javier Mascherano (who will soon leave to either Juve, Inter or Barca probably in a swap deal) replacement; expect maybe 1 more midfielder (possibly Stylian Petrov) to possibly arrive but no more.

We will probably not be buying a Left-Back as we have Aurelio and Kelly there and Carragher, Wilson and Agger can play there as well so we don't particularly need one. Insua is however leaving as he no longer wishes to be at the club knowing that we have already accepted a bid for him so he believes (and he is probably right) that we don't want him. However we may still get a more natural Left Back as an Aurelio backup or even first team choice over Aurelio. Stephen Warnock?

We MAY buy another Striker especially if Ngog or Pacheco goes out on loan which seems unlikely as Pacheco will be used much more this season which is why he has been given the number 12 shirt. Ngog will probably not go either as Hodgson intends to keep him as he is a big part of his plans for the season after impressing in pre-season and against Rabotnicki. There is still a chance of buying someone like Peter Crouch, Carlton Cole or even still Loic Remy as Hodgson is considering a late bid for him.

Expect us to sign a goalkeeper (probably Brad Jones) to either pave way for Diego Cavalieri to leave or make Reina have to work harder for his place.

With this said, here is what I reckon will happen for Liverpool in terms of transfers in the time remaining:

Remaining Liverpool Summer Transfers:
Outs:
Javier Mascherano to Barca, Juve or Inter (Player swap + 12-20m or 25-30m cash deal)
Emiliano Insua to Genoa or Napoli (5m)

Possible Outs:
Diego Cavalieri to unknown (3m)
David Ngod to West Brom (Loan)
Dani Pacheco to unknown (Loan)

Ins:
New Midfield Player (6-14m)
Brad Jones (2.5-3m)

Possible Ins:
New Left Back (6-14m)
New Striker (7-14m)

I hope we are looking at Ever Banega , he's the most ideal replacement for mascherano

No he's not! And Poulsen is. You guys haven't a clue how players fit into a team and what their strengths and weaknesses are, obviously.

As soon as we sell Masch we need to get a descent stricker to partner torres all the below with a little persuasion are available and worth a shout.
Lukaku anderlecht 12m
Ibrahimovic barca 24m
Neymar santos 17m
Benzema Real 12m
Remy Nice 14m
Huntelaar AC Milan 10m
Hulk Porto 16m
Pavlycenko spurs 8m
Bellamy city 8m
Crouch spurs 7m
Cole W.ham 12m
Agbonglahor villa 10m
Zamora Fulham 8m

- - - - - - - - - - -
No offense, but half that list is insane.
Carlton Cole isn't worth 7million never mind 12. Zamora is ancient, the aim to lower the squad age 'cause right now we're sitting on a time-bomb, in four years there will be no Torres, no Gerrard, Carragher, Aurelio, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Kuyt, Cole (well, he won't be retired, but he'll have no pace). Even Reina will be approaching his twilight years.

Not only that but there's a VERY limited budget, we'd be breaking the banks just to buy Neymar. We don't want to end up like United who have already spent 20 million when they're £1billion in the red.

The only realistic options are Lukaka, Remy, maybe Crouch and (not in the list) Turan, but we'd only be able to sign one of them.

12 Aug 2010 19:30:55
Kenny obviously isnt but what team had an irishman who was english,an englishman who was welsh,a scott who was an irishman, and a scottishman who was ireland? SMF

12 Aug 2010 19:26:27
To the guy that posted about Pepe Reina joining Arsenal, don't worry, there is no way this is happening.
This was first reported in the gutter press last weekend.
Sky can only report what they see/read elsewhere as they don't seem able to do their own investigative reporting. They have obviously seen that Liverpool have agreed a fee with Middlesborough for Brad Jones, put two and two together and come up with five.

12 Aug 2010 19:25:15
This was on the forbes website.it gives us info of what could be the case if kenny huang takes over.

There is plenty of excitement over the offer proposed by Kenny Huang to buy Liverpool FC, reportedly with the backing of Chinese sovereign wealth fund CIC. Should the Chinese gain control of the revered English Premier League club, it will replace an ownership group led by Tom Hicks and George Gillett, two Americans whose relationship with Liverpool supporters never seemed to gel. But if such an ownership change transpires, it could turn out to represent a significant transformation that extends beyond football—and even beyond the entire sports industry.

A little more than three years ago, when Hicks and Gillett made their bid to own the storied club and its home pitch, Anfield, the value was £218.9 million, with about £44.8 million in debt. After their bid was accepted, Hicks declared that winning championships was a top priority and that he would also see to it that a new stadium be built to replace Anfield. But it was, in fact, the plan to build the stadium that attracted Hicks to the bid in the first place. The stadium and other real estate and associated revenue-generating opportunities were what drove the deal. It is ironic, however, that the focus on stadium-driven revenue is what most likely led to Hicks and Gillett racking-up debts of about £350 million.
The stadium as key to revenue generation has been a basic assumption for some time in the sports business, and explains to some extent why Hicks and Gillett have presently valued Liverpool at £600 million (they recently had it as high as £800 million). But are stadia, while important components of any sale, and a desire to negotiate a high sale price enough to explain the gap between Hicks and Gillett's valuation and Huang's offer to pay up to a reported £320 million for control of the club?

The answer is no—and it has little to do with the economic dimension that shares in Liverpool may not be worth more than the debt. What is really going on here is a lesson about how differently Hicks and Gillett organize and manage the business compared to how the Chinese are likely to do it.

The linchpin of this deal is Jianhua "Kenny" Huang. At 46 years of age, Huang, who leads the Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports, is an intriguing figure. He was the first graduate of a university in the People's Republic of China to work at the New York Stock Exchange, beginning in public relations and later moving into investments. He also studied in New York at Columbia University and then completed a masters degree at St. John's University, speaks multiple languages, and has for years been brokering deals between Chinese and American outfits, especially in sports.

Huang had been generally unknown in the United States until he took a minority ownership stake in the National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavaliers last year, which followed prior deals to market the National Basketball Association's Houston Rockets and Major League Baseball's New York Yankees in China. Among a long list of other accomplishments over the past few years are his investment in China's National Basketball League, which helped pave the way for private enterprise to enter what had been a government-controlled operation, and his being voted China's philanthropist of the year in 2009. But what may be most compelling is Huang's feeling that the three keys to the sports business are media, sponsors and capital markets. Specifically, he operates from a belief that "You may know sports, but you may not know capital markets. But if you know capital markets, you may not know the media well. I think I have got all three successful ingredients."

Should it turn out that Huang has the opportunity to put his model into action with Liverpool, the club will be marketed in a way not seen since George Steinbrenner took the Yankees brand abroad. But Liverpool will have a bigger impact because it will take on a global presence, rather than merely a global position. And this will allow Liverpool to easily attract the world's top footballers, as well as do wonders for merchandising at a level that surpasses the recent news that the surnames of Liverpool's Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard adorn the top two best-selling English Premier League replica shirts. That is, what opportunities and implications will arise out of Liverpool's capacity to attract sponsors in the form of large multinational companies champing at the bit to further build their own brands in China?

Huang has apparently done an interview for a Basketball magazine in China in the last few hours. Much of the interview was with regard to the LFC takeover bid. Someone transcribed it using Google so the transcript is in a sort of a broken English. However, a Hong Kong Reds fan, has pulled out the main points of the interview and this is what he says about the interview.

I'm in the middle of something so I can't really do the translation (the article is huge). Just to sum it up a bit, he said he has "50% confidence" in winning the bid.

More notable quotes:
- "The board is positive to our bid"
- "To say we will withdraw our offer if it isn't done before the end of transfer window is incorrect, of course we want it to be done by the end of this month, but there are still plenty of unknowns."
- "UK media seem to know everything we have underestimated their links, our rivals use the media far better than us"
- "We have signed confidential agreement with our backers as they want to stay anonymous"
Huang also said Yang Guang isn't a backer, he's in to manage the fund. RBS/ the board gave him a lot of pressure cos they think he deliberately leaked the details to the media and he insists he didn't.
By the looks of it, I'd say he is rather confident.

Blair Mayne is SPOT ON when he talks about "Bamba" on the RAWK web site. The guy IS a legend. He is definitely well connected both at LFC and in the City (some people guess it's Robbie Fowler or someone like him). As Blair says, this fella has a strike rate as good as Robbie or Rushie with regards to predictions that come true. Nevermind Mr Broughton or whoever on here - BAMBA IS THE MAN! Almost everything he has posted has come true and he tells the Kop faithful AT LEAST 48 hours before it happens. NOT RUMOUR BUT FACT!

Sky Sports has recently announced that Pepe Reina's head has been turned recently by the rumours surrounding him involving Arsenal's interest. (see website yourself if you fail to believe this) He feels Liverpool, despite signing Cole, will have another stuttering season, and alongside lack of investment and poor financial backing, along with the ridiculous price they are asking for the club, feels it is in his interest to seek a move to London. He is a fan of the Gunners style of play, and sees an obvious sense of unity between the manager and players, something which has become wearsome at Liverpool, Don't shoot the messenger, I'm a Doncaster fan.

Hi

As i understand it The money from Masch sale will go to buying a left back still even though we have Auerillo and Insua and Kelly (who did look the part) and a striker as a reserve/partner for Torres and that will be all Roy Hodgson signs this summer.

Who they are i am to believe that the LB is Paul Konkesky (sorry about the spelling) or Wayne bridge(as he is no longer first choice for city and he is willing to take a small pay cut to play first team).

The Striker i have no idea there is alot of names that are being thrown around but would surprise me that ther is a player swap deal with either Inter or Barca wherever Mash ends up.

To all the people talking about king kenny going to the Ireland game I just want to say this he is NOT the Liverpool manager and is also Irish. So what if he went to the game. Can he not have just gone to support Ireland? p.s. I saw Roy hogdson at walking into a grocery shop on a few days ago maybe he's gonna sign the shelf boy?

Since when has Kenny been Irish you moron?
No-one has claimed he is our manager, but he still has an official role with us.

To the person who sais daglish is irish, are you sure?

This is not really a rumor . but why not sign Arda turan ffs. . really that guy got class and he wants to join lPool. roy needs to get some sense. . with him nr 19 would be in the bag.

12th August 15:53.

I wasn't aware that King Kenny was Irish it's news to me, Ireland must be kicking themselves that he played his international career for SCOTLAND, never mind it's time for your shift at McDonalds soon.

12 Aug 2010 17:03:21
King kenny was at Landsdowne road last night night. he was with Liverpools chief scout in Ireland Pat Devlin who is also Damien Duff's representitive/agent.

12 Aug 2010 16:53:30
To everyone saying we should swap masch for BALOTTELI , the guy is a moody disruptiv player who hasnt left inter yet becuse of his crazy wage demands .
we have 2 good strickers ,nando and kuyt
when we were in the weeds last year kuyt steped up and played his hart out plus he was one of the best players at the world cup .
people on this site are all wanting ozel at there club for 20 million but kuyt had more assists in the WC , also with Jova ,Joe and gerred we have goals from all over no need to spend big on a stricker

Sharkey,

You're probably the most 'in-the-know' person that posts on this website. My source has told me this: ( is it true? )

Out:
Mascherano - 18m + Hleb
Degen - Loan
Riera - 5m
Benayoun - 5.5m
San Jose - 2.7m
Total = 13.2m

In:
Crouch - 7m
SWP - 7m
Poulsen - 4.5m
Joe Cole - 3m
Jovanovic - 1m
Wilson - 2m
Shelvey - 1.7m
Total: 26.2m

( If, and thats a big IF Mascherano goes I have been told. Hleb + 18m if he goes to Barcelona, 10m + Cambiasso or 20m if he goes to Inter: true?)

Squad:

GK - Reina, Cavalieri
RB - Johnson*
CB - Carragher, Skrtel
CB - Agger, Kyrgiakos
LB - Insua*, Aurelio
RM - Maxi, SWP*
CDM - Poulsen, Lucas, Spearing*
CM - Gerrard*, Aquilani
LM - Jovanovic, Babel
CAM - J.Cole*, Pacheco*
ST - Torres, Crouch*, Kuyt, N'gog, Nemeth

= 25, 9 home-grown. result ;)

Youth to feature: Gulacsi, Kelly, Ayala, Wilson, Mavinga, Amoo, Pacheco, Shelvey, Eccleston, Dalle Valle.

Crouch: no. 11;
Poulsen: no. 28;
SWP: no. 13;

My preferred line-up would be

This might not be true and probably wont happen but barca r interested in masherano so we could give them masherano and rodriguez plus cash and try to get messi. worth a shot

12 Aug 2010 16:50:26
I know i guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who works at lfc and well we will be bought very very very very very soon, possibly

12 Aug 2010 16:49:24
Why does everyone go on about c. cole and remy we would be better of with zamora. he is already proved that he can be a great lone striker and would fit in with roy's homegrown plans. also liverpool should look at lukaka. drogba recomended chelsea to buy him so lfc could try and get him first 17 and scored 15 goals in 25 games. not bad

12 Aug 2010 16:44:56
Hi, i know it is not definate that we are selling masherano although it seems likely but if we are going to sell him to inter then benitez should pay the price he valued him at. that was around 40m.
so if we are then looking for a striker and midfielder we could swap masherano for ballotelli and cambassio which seems a good deal for lfc. i would also like to see ever banega replacing lucas and a knew left back

Kenny Dalglish was in the Aviva Stadium last night to cast his eye on 3 players. . Javier Mascherano, Ever Banega and Fernando Gago.
Javier Mascherano will leave Liverpool shortly, as soon as the sale of Mario Ballotelli from Inter to City is completed and that money will go directly to Liverpool for Mascherano.
Now, this is the interesting part. Lucas is subject to, what Hodgson feels is an acceptable offer from an Italian club. Now Palermo and Genoa have already registered interest and have had bids rejected but Rafa is a big Lucas lover so don't be surprised if he comes in for Lucas too. It is unknown what club has tabled this acceptable offer. Hodgson wants 2 defensive and 2 creative central midfielders at the club, the 2 creative being Gerrard and Aquilani (who will not leave) and the defensive will consist of Poulsen and one of either Banega or Gago should Lucas leave. Gago does not feature in Jose Mourinho's plans at Real Madrid and Valencia are struggling financially so could be resorted into selling Banega.

A striker is also a priority. Hodgson is hoping the deal to take Mascherano away is done extremely quickly as he wants to know the funds are there to go out and bid for Loic Remy before anyone else. Remy has declared Liverpool as his first choice and the debate of Champions League V Europa League football wont come into it. Remy wants to join Liverpool. Other targets include Carlton Cole, Peter Crouch, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz, Bobby Zamora, Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

Viva Kop Fever. .

Not so much a rumour but. .
After recording the ireland and argentina game i could'nt help but to notice that king kenny was overlooking the game. I see him maybe moving for one or two players playing in the game; these are Ever Banega and Kevin Doyle with the rumours given on this page and in the newspapers. The keen eyed viewer would have noticed that Kevin Doyle wasn't even playeing further more he wasn't even on the bench.
Kevin Doyle is also a W*nkchester Utd fan so all rumours on him joining Liverpool are out of the window.
Ever Banega, currently playing for Valencia played very well in the game yeaterday, as you saw he has got a pass on him, a bit of ball skill and great vision.
My point is that if Mascherano does leave Poulsen has been bought in to somewhat replace him in the holding role. That then leaves Lucas and Alberto pulling straws to get a role in midfield, this means that Banega will have a slim chance of getting into the middle of the park. So why was Kenny there?
Also this is the probable first 11 to face Arsenal this weekend.

Reina
Johnson Skrtel (spelling) Carragher Aurelio
Maxi Alberto Jovanovic
Gerrard Cole
Torres

I see Alberto Gerrard and Cole swapping position through out the game and also Jovanovic and Maxi switching wings through the game too.

TAKEOVER WILL NOT HAPPEN BEFORE THE END OF THE TRANSFER WINDOW.

12 Aug 2010 16:01:51
Does this mean that Blair has finally admitted that there was no secret 'takeover'??

I conceded 7-10 days ago to my good friend and admirer Reality Red that i now didn't think there had been a takeover.

Now i can see this one probably going to the High Court!

That would be an awful deal for 2 reasons.
1) We dont need a tempermental teenager who gets in an argument at every oppertunity, we need people who are proud to wear our famous shirt
2)He wouldnt fit in with our tactics, from roys transfers and early games, he is deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation, with cole having a free role. There would be no room for ballotelli and we already have perfectly suitable torres stand-ins, being ngog, kuyt, babel, jovanovic, pacheco and dalle valle,

e would be better suited taking the money from masch and redistributing it into other areas of the squad

This from Clubcall: Liverpool could swoop for Fiorentina's Mario Bolatti as a replacement for Javier Mascherano, according to the Argentine press.
Bolatti, who played alongside Mascherano at the World Cup, only joined La Viola in January but reports in Argentine newspaper Ole claim Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is keen to bring him to Anfield.
Hodgson has revealed he will ensure he has a replacement lined up before any of his top players leave and has been desperately seeking a holding midfielder after Mascherano announced he is looking to move on, with Inter Milan and Barcelona interested in his services.
(Clubcall)

So maybe Dalglish was there to check on this BOLATTI who plays for Argentina.

He played in a couple of world cup qualifiers, but he wasn't at the world cup.

They showed him sitting there on the TV with who Sky sports said was a Liverpool Scout. Would welcome Kevin Doyle like some have suggested but can't see it being him as he wasn't playing. Maybe he was looking at Javier I can't see him looking at Banega as we got Poulsen maybe Lavezzi (sorry for the bad spellings) I have no inside source I didn't sit behind him at the game with a cup on a string it's just my opinion I wish he was looking at Messi but we can all dream.

this lad is a skillful player with bags of pace sure to be a hit at anfield

will cost within the region of 6-8 million pounds

As soon as we sell Masch we need to get a descent stricker to partner torres all the below with a little persuasion are available and worth a shout.
Lukaku anderlecht 12m
Ibrahimovic barca 24m
Neymar santos 17m
Benzema Real 12m
Remy Nice 14m
Huntelaar AC Milan 10m
Hulk Porto 16m
Pavlycenko spurs 8m
Bellamy city 8m
Crouch spurs 7m
Cole W.ham 12m
Agbonglahor villa 10m
Zamora Fulham 8m

there is no lack of striking options availible. .sorry if my evaluations not accurate. .who would you go for?

I have heard alot of rumours about a straight swap between Mach and Ibrahimovic.
Benzema would cost closer to 25-30M
Remy and Huntelaar are most likely along with Crouch and maybe Bellemy.
Pavylchenko might have cost around 8M at January but put in some good performances after so could be too expensive.
West Ham have said that they want 20M for Cole but I would say hes worth aout 12M.
Agbonlahor I would love to sign but dont think Villa would sell.
Zamora has been to vital to fulhams success so they might not sell.
I have also heard that Hulk is banned in domestic tournaments not sure if its lifted if he moves which is a shame because I think he is a great Forward.

INS

Turan £12 million
Jones £2.7 million
Riise or Warnock £5-7 millino
Zamora £6-9 million

OUTS

Mascherano £28-30 million
Insua £4-6 million
Itanje £0.5 million

I am open to any suggestion on my transfer rumours and any rumours that you have heard concerning LFC

We NEED to sign Arda Turan, Taiwo/Warnock and SWP or Bellamy. We have Kuyt, Jovanovic, Ngog, Babel and Bellamy (if we signed him) to play up front. Last year none of these options worked because we had two midfielders who just passed the ball to each other or backwards. This year with Stevie G at centre mid and cole in the hole we will play like we did when Alonso was at centre mid with Stevie in the hole. Stevie will get the ball and get it forward asap to Cole, Torres, Turan(maybe) and we will be much more of a threat.

They call me Cuban Pete. . . . . . . . . . .

As i said yesterday poulsen would be signed which he was today. I hear a lot of people saying that it is a bad signing as he is past his best. I agree that he is past his best but i still feel that he can do a good job in dm. So it is not a bad signing in my eyes.
Mascherano will leave liverpool and sign for most likely barcelona early next week.
Even though bellamy is possibly signing on loan to celtic i would be thinking that liverpool still have a very good chance if they put a reasonable bid in for the welsh international.
If we fail in that we will look towards Swp who would cost around the 7 million mark.
I would hope with the money we would get from mascherano we could buy a top class striker. . obviously the dream would be aguero but being realistic i would be happy with hunterlaar, ibrahimovic or bojan. which hopefully we can get a player plus cash deal involving ibrahimovic or bojan for mascherano. I feel that with torres and one of them 3 up front liverpool would have phenomenal striking talent worthy of winning any title

These things are confidential, but the British media to discover information about the far. This is our confusion, we do one thing, the media will know. Our competitors use the British media, far more than our own. I think that the combination of the media and sport, have exceeded the United States, it seems to me that too many losses. Therefore, we employ the world's largest public relations firms, PR firms in the United Kingdom of great capacity. Love basketball: throughout the competitive procurement, local government and fans attitude? how are you going to do? Fans love basketball:? in all aspects of messages payback, Liverpool local fans response? Wong Kin wah: public relations company told me that most fans are supported, but there are also some noise — doubt we have the strength, the ability to work well. Of course, we need a step by step solution to the problem. Love basketball: some fans also have different attitudes you want to be able to let the fans know what? Wong Kin wah: I think, there are many worthwhile learning place, this is the world's most successful League, we learn. If you are able to learn the good stuff and let avoid some bad aspects, that is a good thing. And training, Premiership home reference. Their advanced experience, as well as the improvement of the athletes, but also worth studying. Love basketball: acquisitions, self-confidence, your confidence? 50% or 60%?? 80%? Wong Kin wah: almost 50%. The opponent is very powerful, our experience, especially in the United Kingdom and the media giants are inextricably linked, we need to do further research. There are also shareholders, creditors, and the triangular relationship between the Board of Directors, we are also prepared. We have many aspects need to be sure, it's not like the outside world that occupies a large advantage, we still have a lot to learn and review.

Why are we not interested in darren bent he seems to be off the radar at the minute after a great season. I would pay 15mil for him easy as he is far better than c.cole and crouch."

I think Sunderland would demand a fair bit more than £15M for Darren Bent at the moment. I personally think that, had Rafa bought him last summer, he'd have been the ideal striker as back-up to Torres and could've scored some important goals that kept us in the CL.

I think he tends to work better as a lone front-man, so - if Roy is looking at getting a pairing up-front - he's probably not the best choice if we're on a budget. Great striker though, has proved it time and time again.

With the Taiwo and Turan signings, we dont need anymore squad players agreed? We could easliy sign these two with the money from the mascherano sale and have money left over! Jones is pocket change lets be honest. Roy then just needs to look to youth development and buying one world class player a season onwards in my opinion!

To the clown who said rh has convinced macherano to stay he was on irish televison giving an interview last nigh saying he would like to thank everybody in liverpool for there support but i want to move to another country? his words does that sound like he has been convinced to stay?wake up and stop talking out of your arse

The proof that dalglish was at the Ireland game was that it showed him on sky sports 1

12 Aug 2010 13:39:11
Wasn't dalglish casting an eye over banega, and kevin doyle last night?

unless dalglish was looking how doyle sits on the bench/stands then i don't think so and maybe he was looking at banega but with the signing of poulson i can't see this being a possibilty.

Liverpool to make 2 more signings before the window closes for definate : i expect a left back either stephen warnock or john arse riise to return to liverpool for aroud £5-8 million.
and i fully expect Brad Jones to sign today or tomorrow from middlesbrough, a liverpool fan as a lad would be a dream come true , middlesbrough are understood to have accepted an improved bid of around £2.5 million maybe rising to £3 million. This would pave the way for diego caverli to leave the club ,with benfica said to be intrested in the brazilian keeper

I can only see another striker coming in IF liverpool do agree to loan out David N'gog . . .this however is unlikey as he is now finally starting to turn heads at liverpool and Roy Hodgson see's him and pacheco playing a big role next season for liverpool . I do honestly believe liverpool could be the suprise package this season , steven gerrard was back to his best last night for england joe cole will of course be brilliant if stays fit and jovanic pace looks frigtening ,this added pace and depth upfront should see liverpool back into the top 4 as a minium , likely to go all out this year for the FA Cup to get some silverwear back in the cabinet

In reply to:

12 Aug 2010 01:35:11
A number of sources inside the club have told me that a bid for Ever Banega will be made this week thought to be around 10 million pounds but not to replace Javier Mascherano but to replace Lucus who is on his way out to Gremio for a fee believed to be around 6 Million pounds. Apparently Javier Mascherano wants to stay at the club now that big players have commited their futureds and also if transfer funds are made available to Roy before the end of the transfer window closes he will be willing to sign a new contract. So I would suggest that by friday if a bid has not been accepted Javier Mascherano will hand in an official transfer request and the poulson deal will be finalised.

I highly doubt Lucas Leiva will be leaving. He was interviewed on SSN a few weeks ago saying that he hoped he'd be in the new manager's plans as he very much wants to stay and keep improving etc. . And clearly we now know that Hodgson must rate him; he wouldn't have given him the captaincy during pre-season otherwise.

To the moronic individual who had the audacity to post the following under the pseudonym of - "the bin watcher"

Ive heard on the grapevine that steven gerrard is moving to spain as there is a better quality of food in their wheelie bins so the horrid pr*&k can get fatter and hopefully die of obesity

you heard it here 1st, the bin watcher

I would just like to add that i do not believe people like this deserve our anger, this poor guy needs our pity, it is obvious due to his grammer and foul language that he his uneducated and has probably been dragged up by his parents, he will most likely have little or no future, he is also most probably a bitter blue who can only enjoy our beautiful game through the hatred of another team and not by the love and success of his own team unlike us Liverpool fans, so let's just ignore this poor guy, i personally feel very sorry for him! Jealousy is a dreadful thing to live with!

Kenny was at the game last night, I was there and his face came up on the big screen, not sure who he would have been looking at as Masch and Insua are going and there is no one on the Irish team good enough for Liverpool apart from Kevin Doyle but he didn't play.

If Liverpool want to be title challengers then in my view they need 3 more players.
Striker:Carlton Cole seems very likely. I think he would be very good playing with talented creative players like Cole and Gerrard.
Left mid:Turan might sign.He is cup-tied but for europa league we could play Babel or Jovanovic instead.
Left back:I think we need a solid left back.Possibly Warnock.

If Maxi leaves Wright-Phillips is a possibility.
Insua looks set to leave. Mascherano will be leaving Poulsen is his replacement.
I think we are signing Brad Jones because Cavalieri is leaving.
Aislan and Muniain might be signing as well.

With a starting 11 like this we could win the title.
Reina
Johnson , Carragher , Agger , Warnock
Gerrard , Poulsen
Maxi/Wright-Phillips/Kuyt , J.Cole , Turan
Torres
Subs:Jones,Kellly,Skretl,Aqualani, Kuyt/Wright-Phillips/Maxi ,Jovanovic,C.Cole

Hulk Porto 16m
Pavlycenko spurs 8m

Crouch spurs 7m
Cole W.ham 12m

I have a "wish-list" of players I think we should sign before the transfer window closes:-

Warnock -£10m, (Only if Insua is sold or sent on loan)
Jenas - £4m
Bentley - 7.5 m / Loan
R Van der Vaart - £7.5/ Loan
A Home grown elligible Goal keeper
Andy Carroll - £10m
Michael Johnson - £4m, (rising to £7m)

and sell:-

Masch - £20m
Aquallani - £10m
El Zahar - £2m
Nemeth - £2m
Pleasis - £2m
Simon, Bruna, Brower, Weijl - all for £1m
Cavielleri - £1m

Itanje - We'll pay someone to get him off the books

12 Aug 2010 13:04:31
First of all as we all know once ballotelli goes to city the merry go round will begin with Masch goin 2 inter for around 24 million. We don't need any more midfielder's as Poulsen and lucas enough to cover this position. We still need a wide man and turan for me is the best option. .we still need a left back as insua will go to fiorentina or napoli. .we need english in this position and we can't afford to spend to much?As far as attacking options i would sell Ngog to west brom and try again to get craig bellamy possible free? Barcelona desperate for DM and Mash is on there radar but with a lack of funds they will try and push fringe players our way. Ibrahimovic said today in the papers he would like to play in england why not try a cheecky swap deal or a player plus Bojan deal got to be worth a shot??

What do you reckon ed?

Liverpool have signed Chrisitian Poulsen from Juventus for £4.5m (rising to £5.4m) on a 3-year deal. (Decent singing IMO)

Roy's party in the bargain basement will go on as he plans to bring former Sao Poulo centre-back on a Free Transfer. He will also sign Brad Jones for £2.8m from Boro'.

Expect another attacking player to join before the window closes.

'After the signing of Poulsen and the expected arrival of Brad Jones and Mascherano's move away from Anfield looking even more likely, i think we need two more players.
A striker for definite, and despite Roy saying he wont raid his old club, Bobby Zamora would be a fantastic signing for us. It is one player and Mark Hughes will be grateful of the money to look to rebuild his Fulham side.
In addition to this we still need a winger, so depending on how much money left over, i would buy either SWP or A.Young, both brilliant english talent. As for the left back situation we have Aurelio and Agger can play there and so can Kelly if needed so a left back is not urgently required anymore.

Please feel free to comment,
CDP'

Agree, dont need a left-back. I dont think that Hughes would sell Zamora tbh, I think we should we go for Crouch, for around 7m, decent back-up.
I would also take SWP, similar to a Walcott role for Arsenal. for about 7m aswell. This is what i would do: ( overall transfer window )

Out:
Mascherano - 25m
Degen - Loan
Benayoun - 5.5m
Riera - 5m
Total: 35.5m
In:
Crouch - 7m
SWP - 7m
J.Cole - 3m
Jovanovic - 1m
Wilson - 2m
Shelvey - 1.7m
Total: 21.7m

Profit - 13.8m

Squad;
GK - Reina, Cavalieri, Gulacsi*
RB - Johnson*
CB - Carragher, Skrtel
CB - Agger, Kyrgiakos
LB - Aurelio, Insua*
RM - Maxi, SWP*
CM - Gerrard*, Aquilani
CM - Lucas, Poulsen
LM - Jovanovic, Babel
AM - J.Cole*, Pacheco*, Shelvey*
ST - Torres, Kuyt, Crouch*, N'gog

= 25

Youth:
Kelly, Ayala, Wilson, Mavinga, Spearing, Amoo, Eccleston, Dalle Valle, Nemeth

Gerrard was originally going to barca trust me. .no madrid.then something happened all of a sudden they turned their attentions to cesc ,now that hes not going, now it masch. Whatever changed stevies mind was done b4 hodgson turned up?Or round about that time. Whatever was told to Gerrard and Torres obviously put their mind at rest that they would be in a team capable of prem glory. so expect a great signing soon. i would never sell lucas i think he has great potential and is a better player than masch. judge him in a team playing well. same with aquilani. anyway friday the 13th is at hand. Why are we not interested in darren bent he seems to be off the radar at the minute after a great season. I would pay 15mil for him easy as he is far better than c.cole and crouch. Also should forget about turan and try to sign mata . Too many people are rating turan from you tube but from what i have heard he is a very inconsistent player. Bit too similar to babel.
Reina
Johnson Kelly Agger Aurelio
Poulsen
Mata Cole Gerrard

Good times ahead!!

It is pretty certain Mascherano will leave us. Hopefully we can get £20m + for him. After the Signing of Poulson I think we only need to sign a striker and that's it, hopefully keep hold of everyone else.
My opinion is that we sign someone like Crouch or even try to take Bellamy on loan?
I've also heard Tevez isn't happy at Man city, so if we can get enough for Masch then, why not try and sign him?
I don't think we need to sign a winger yet as we have maxi, kuyt, jovanovic, babel, cole, pacheco and amoo all able to play out wide. See how it goes then maybe sign a winger in Jan if needed.

Very sorry for my bad english.i am a chinese from malaysia. huang has admited the bid of liverpool when interview by "ai lan qiu"(love basketball)magazine in china. i lazy to translate all his interview to english, so i only summarize the important point what he said in the interview.
1)huand said he is not the one who give the money to buy liverpool. he is only one of the representative in the chinese consortium. huang refuse to answer who are the people give the money.
2)huand said their competitors come from middle east, north america, and a india consortium has quit the bid.
3)huang said before october, the liverpool will be takeover. It is the MUST. because it is the deadline for liverpool to pay the debt.
4)liverpool board have accept their porposal.(not the bid)
5)huang said their preponderance to success in the bid is based on the large market in asia.

the interview i translate by google translater(attention:Wong Kin wah is Jian-hua Huang in chinese pronunciation:
12 August afternoon, since participation in the acquisition of Premier League Giants team Liverpool and pervasive Wong Kin wah, accepted by he served as General Counsel of professional basketball magazine loves basketball, an exclusive interview, referring to the current Liverpool acquisitions, this is also the Wong Kin wah bid for Liverpool, media interviews, for the first time. Wong Kin wah said as signed non-disclosure agreement, he is still not accepting media interviews about Liverpool, just hope that through their own and Hubei daily media group cooperation the love basketball magazine, clarify. Love basketball: for acquisition of Liverpool, you in the previous period has remained silent on why? Wong Kin wah: acquisition of Liverpool has a non-disclosure agreement. Cannot publish any comments and suggestions, all messages are only passed the spokesman and PR firms. Love basketball: why now you can accept outside media interview? Wong Kin wah: this cannot reveal the details, because the requirements of the media is too much, so I think it through their own media love basketball, "said a few words. But not to disclose too much information. Love basketball: now the Liverpool takeover advances to what extent? Wong Kin wah: we have confirmed with Liverpool's Board of Directors, who are interested in bidding for the team. At the same time, we also do all aspects of the investigation and evaluation, overall progress was very smooth. However, competitors, and more powerful, so now there are many unknowns. Love basketball: bid for rival, you know what? Wong Kin wah: Middle East, North America. One of India's Consortium has exited the bid. Love basketball: all in this competitive procurement, do you think you are in a kind of is in a leading role, or everybody equal opportunities? Wong Kin wah: I think we all hope that every bid is felt; to say we are ahead. However we will continue to strengthen and Liverpool Board and banks, and other aspects of the communication. Love basketball: do you think your advantage? Wong Kin wah: first of all, we had a very strong Asian market, China's market. This team of Liverpool to enter the Asian markets. However for Premiership team learned that many of our competitors, just started early, know better than we know. Love basketball: according to British media reports, the Board of Directors of the Liverpool hope 10 days give you the answer you expected when completion of the acquisition? Wong Kin wah: we offer a large number of programmes, now we've got answers, (Liverpool) Board of Directors has endorsed our plan, I hope we continue to move forward. In less than 10 days, we've got the answer. Love basketball: mean (Liverpool) Board of Directors has given a positive reply to you? Wong Kin wah: Yes! but there still are many unknowns, the so-called British media reported we've won, or ahead of, these are not correct. In fact, our competitors are very powerful, we must have a clear picture of their location, not far ahead, nor is it said (Liverpool) Board of Directors has to confirm that you want to accept us. We still have a long way to go, but at that time we informed the Board of Directors, in the hope that they our proposal on the macro side is acceptable and, finally, the Board of Directors accepted our proposals. Love basketball: it is said that you want in the end of the transfer, the completion of the acquisition? Wong Kin wah: this is an incorrect statement, of course, we all want to be able to do the best. But there are still unknown. Love basketball: but for the outside world completed by the end of ten rumours of acquisition? Wong Kin wah: If you are at the end of October, is an open secret, because at that time, the team's debt to the Bank on due date, the team's debt liquidation. Love basketball: you are now the subject of negotiation with the Liverpool? is a Bank, or the Board of Directors, or the United States? Wong Kin wah: mainly on the Board of Directors. Love basketball: now some domestic media suspected you bid on Liverpool's economic strength?? Wong Kin wah: definitely not my own money, but rather an investment syndicate money. The composition of the investment banks are still confidential, not publicly. Love basketball: some say that Franklin Fund Yang participated in this investment? YEUNG Wong Kin wah: is the management of the Fund, in which one works best. However, it is not money, is Yang syndicated money. He is responsible for the management. Love basketball: therefore, Yang and you are a partner and sponsor role? Wong Kin wah: Yeung is with me, to protect the interests of the individual investor and rights. Love basketball: This syndicated acquisition of Liverpool is what the media say you in this matter is deliberate hype? Wong Kin wah: to confirm that we are not trying to hype, hype, hype begin. Liverpool has said we are only recognized after bidding. If you read the news, you'll know that we have been very low key, Chairman of the Board until their interview, we acknowledge that are bidding. Our goal is to: first, not speculation; and second, does not accept any media. Many people feel that this was done to speculation that this is an error. As is his own Wong Kin wah do spend money, I want to declare that, not that I personally spend money, but rather an investment Consortium. Love basketball: How do you convince the acquiring investment syndicated Liverpool? Wong Kin wah: this brand is very good and the price is lower than two years ago. So, I think it is a very worthwhile investment projects. Love basketball: at present, in terms of what great difficulties and obstacles? Wong Kin wah: understanding the British media, this is the maximum a misunderstanding. These things are confidential, but the British media to discover information about the far. This is our confusion, we do one thing, the media will know. Our competitors use the British media, far more than our own. I think that the combination of the media and sport, have exceeded the United States, this% 20 . .

Roy not to invest heavily in the left back position and is going to wait a year until he can get Teemu Tainio on a free from Marseille as he is unhappy in France!

LFC breaking news. . .
Maicon
Bale
Banega
Ronaldinho
joinedLFC for £100million

it may be your wishful thinking to have these players, but your valuation is miles out.

Maicon £15-£20million
Bale £15-£20million
Banega £10-£15million
Ronaldinho 10 fags (maybe £3-£5million Max)you could probably get him for nothing.

Maybe people won't agree with my valuation's either, but i was just trying to point out spending £100million on these 4 players would be a waste of about £50million. although i would love to have the first 3 named, ronaldinho isn't what he used to be and i think he is too old to adapt to the english game. if i had £100 million to spend on players(which LFC don't have) i would buy the following:

Arda Turan £10-£15mil
Ever Banega £8-£12mil
Gareth Bale £15-£20mil
Sergio Aguero £25-£40mil

i believe with these 4 players LFC would be unstoppable, even though we haven't really got any chance of getting Gareth Bale or Sergio Aguero.

BREAKING NEWS: My source inside melwood has told me that mascherano is considering to stay after successful talks with Roy Hodgson and some persuasion from team-mates including argentinian Maxi Rodriguez, however Emiliano Insua is still looking for a move away from anfield.

TRANSFER TALK:
Likely: Liverpool have reportedly opened negotiations with stephen warnock with an 8 million + insua bid, if this deal falls through, however expect to see hodgson move to figueroa with the liverpool manager's valuation of the honduran international being at 5 million.

RUMOURS: Hodgson has reportedly inquired about Fulham's evaluation of England striker Bobby Zamora. He is also reportedly keeping tabs on Wolves Kevin Doyle and Carlton Cole to boost attacking options ahead of the new season. Also if at least one of these are acquired, then Hodgson may consider sending young Frenchman David Ngog to West Brom on loan.

DEFINITES: Christian Poulsen and Brad Jones will both be in Melwood for medicals over the next 24 hours, however it is unlikely they will be available for selection for Liverpool's opening fixture against Arsenal. The two players will cost 4.5 million and 2 million respectively.

I'll keep you updated

Everybody keeps saying that fulham players r out of bounds for rh.i do not see why.i know when he left he said he wouldnt, but im sure he didnt expected al fayed to come out and have a rant about him-he has all the right now to go backa take a couple of players

Has anyone got any takeover news, will Broughton be giving an official update tomorrow ?

12 Aug 2010 11:24:47
After the signing of Poulsen and the expected arrival of Brad Jones and Mascherano's move away from Anfield looking even more likely, i think we need two more players.

All the talk on here about signing all these great players is refreshing, until we hear cr@p like we are interested in signing petrov from villa. he is not a bad player but certainly isn't LFC standard.

I truly hope you can obtain a promotion from actually watching the bin like some sick voyeur, to actually living in one where you and your vile mouth, and mindset belong!

More news: Luke Young's proposed 1.5 million move to liverpool has been re-ignited after martin o'neill's resignation. Roy Hodgson is also expected to discuss the possibility of signing stephen warnock and stillyan petrov with insua going the other way

I don't think the Luke Young deal will be re-ignited. Luke Young said he did not want to join us - can't recall his reason, I think it may have been that he didn't want to move up here, not sure. But the deal falling through had nothing to do with MON.
Hope your right about Warnock though, he's the only ex red I'd take back.

Poulsen signing is bad news for lfc"

Why is this bad news?

Fact is, Maschie is almost certainly leaving - he doesn't want to stay and we should just let the lad go (getting a decent transfer fee, of course). A lot of fans on here doubt Lucas' ability to hold the DM position in his absence, so I'd suspect signing an experienced player for that role good news.

At the end of the day, we're all LFC fans - we should be getting behind the team and certainly supporting new players to help them settle in. I personally think he'll do a good job for us.

In terms of why Kenny was at the Ireland\Argentina match last night: I would imagine it was for a variety of players. Banega has definitely been scouted before, but I think it's doubtful he'll be joining (firstly, we've signed Poulsen and I don't think we'd be looking to spend the kind of money Banega would command on another CM). Someone mentioned Doyle - I didn't think he played last night?, wasn't he ruled out the day before?

West Ham have put a 20 million price tag on Striker Carlton Cole. . . isn't that a bit much for a mid table sides striker.
Celtic have inquired to Manchester City whether they could take Craig Bellamy on loan.

Striking options are wearing thin. who can we sign??

Did anyone see turan's goal for turkey last night? My god, it was a thing of beauty! I really can't understand why Roy doesn't pounce on him. He loves the club, wants to come and would add a technically gifted and talented young man. Come on Roy, sign him!

To the person who wrote

How can M£sh wanna stay at the club yet still hand in a official transfer request. Get a grip mate. M£sh has publicly stated that he wants to leave England and thanked the Liverpool fans for their support, done deal me thinks.

Stephen Warnock to Liverpool for 7 million! Why would Villa accept that bid? They bought him for that. He has had a top quality season at Villa, so he will he worth at least 10 million now!

Christian Poulsen has been confirmed this morning by Juventus as a Liverpool player. Great signing. Might take a while for him to settle into Premiership life. Great for tricky Europa league ties though! Good passer of the ball. Set pieces are decent. Good in the air. Good tackler. A bit like Michael Carrick. Great value for 4.5 million.

Ever Banega, Mascherano but a better passer. Might join, depending on whether Mascherano leaves and whether Lucas leaves, which is unlikely. Would cost 9-15million, considering he was signed by Valencia for 18 million.

Cavalieri, whether it is a loan move or a pemernant deal I don't know. I would expect him to go though as Woy looks to sign Brad Jones. Cavalieri would be 4million, Jones 3million.

Arda Turan. No chance. He is cup tied for the Europa League, therefore he won't come in this window. Bryan Ruiz won't come either this window, he will play in Europe with Twente.

LB. I doubt we will get one in this window. Figueroa would have joined already, if he was coming. Wayne Bridge. Too slow, Not the best defender, can't attack, awful in the air. Yes he is English but I would rather have Titus Bramble if I am honest! Woy would not sign Bridge. Konchesky Woy said he would not raid his old club, therefore he is not coming. Just to point out, Kelly is not a LB. He played there against Rabotnicki because no one else was available. He plays CB or RB. That leaves Insua, who could go to Genoa. Fabio Aurelio. Better than Insua but still not great. Mavinga, not good enough YET. Daniel Agger can play Left back. Why not see how he does?

Remy, Bellamy, Carlton Cole or Crouch?
Remy-8 Premier League scouts watched him last night.
Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs, Arsenal and Sunderland are included. He is out of Sunderland and Stokes league. Spurs, do they need him? Defoe, Crouch, Pavlyuchenko, Keane and dos Santos are surely good enough! Not forgetting Bent. Arsenal, he is too similar to Chamakh for them to get him. So Liverpool could have Remy quite soon.

Bellamy-could get him on the cheap after dispute at City. Getting older but still a great player. Look at him last night for Wales!

Crouch-ageing, lacks pace, not the best finisher, yes good in the air and can turn well, but he is not worth 10million!

Jamesyboy.

Not really rumours-but observations. The poulsen deal is done and dusted according to juve, only 4.5mill so not to much.Watching the england macth last night it struck me how well gerrard linked up with zamora.i know this has been mentioned a couple of times before but i think he could be a real option to actually play up front with torres.he would bring a bit of variaty aswell as he is left footed.i think if the ownership is oing to be complete before the end of the transfer window i think it will be done by tommorow or not at all.warnock is a great left back and would fit in really wel with us again for the second time.he has really improved since his last spell with us and would be a great addition.the bellamy deal could also be a possibility although he has spoken to cardiff and stated how much he wants to play there, but they dont seem to have the money.it is also lickely that he will move because he was left out of the manchester city squad to play in the europa cup.lets hope we can get a couple more in before the end of the window with whatever money rh has got.intresting about the argentinian player watched last night.we will just have to wait and see,but with the transfer there is nowone u can believe appart from the club website and club annoucments.

From today's Guardian:
"Liverpool have postponed their board meeting to discuss the potential takeover of the club because no formal offer has been put to the club, according to reports.

The five-member board was due to meet this week as speculation grows about a takeover but doubts surrounding the credibility of the potential buyers persist.

The delay throws into doubt the likelihood of any takeover being completed before the end of the transfer window. The Royal Bank of Scotland's deadline for refinancing of 6 October looms for Anfield.

The Daily Telegraph quoted a source who said it would have been "premature" for the board to meet this week, inferring the club had not received any formal offer."

Javier Mascherano is NOT staying at liverpool. he believes that he needs to change country which is due to his family having problems settling into liverpool. and desperately wants to re integrate his family into more comfortable surrondings whether returning to Benitez or joing up with messi in barcelona.
This story has broken on sky sports at most reliable and unreliable news outlets.

Yahya Kirdi's proposed bid to purchase Liverpool is being backed by members the ruling al-Qasimi family of Sharjah, according to a report from The Guardian.

Syrian businessman Kirdi has claimed that his bid is backed by significant investors in the Middle East and Canada, though the individuals concerned are yet to be named or presented to Reds chairman Martin Broughton.

Kirdi is believed to have authority to represent the family in business dealings.

The report claims that the al-Qasimi family have been negotiating through Kirdi directly with owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett since October to buy the club.

The al-Qasimis have ruled Sharjah, the third richest of the United Arab Emirates, for centuries, though are not belived to be the Gulf state's richest family.

The Guardian claims that a deal has in principle been agreed between the buyers and Hicks and Gillet. This deal would see the investors take over the club, Liverpool's debts to Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia paid off and a new stadium funded by a 15-year finance arrangement.

The Liverpool board is scheduled to meet later this week to discuss the issue of the club's sale.

After wrapping up deals for Brad Jones and Christian Poulsen within the next 24 hours and, Roy will then turn his attentions to a striker.
Crouch - an enquiry has been made but the clubs valuations are miles apart.
Bellamy - could very well happen now the his Man City bridges (no pun intended) have been burnt.
Guiza - Fenerbache have touted a possible straight-swap deal for Maxi Rodriquez.
Remy - Roy is waiting for the last possible moment to make a bid as he knows that Anfield is the player's preferred destination should another club have a bid accepted.
C. Cole - Again an enquiry was made but their valuation is stupidly high.
Zamora - Although Roy promised Al Fayed he wouldn't raid Fulham for players, new boss Mark Hughes needs a cash injection and could use the money from the sale to strengthen his team elsewhere.
The most likely at this moment is Bellamy as he is a lifelong LFC fan and despite one 'clubbing' incident is well liked at Anfield and by Hodgson who tried to sign him at Fulham. A fee of between £6-£7 million will bring him back to Liverpool and will allow N'gog to join West Brom on a season long loan to gain week-in, week-out experience.
There is also a possibility of a player plus cash deal of Insua going to Fiorentina for Balotelli. Having to pay nothing for Insua (and getting some money) will enable the club to up Insua's wages to the figure he wants.
Lastly, the rumours about Hodgson making a £14 million pound bid for Villa's Petrov and Warnock and slightly wide of the mark. The fee is correct but it is only for Warnock! This is what Roy was quoted when he enquired about bringing the Liverpool lad home but he will have to wait until Mascherano is sold to even begin to think about matching that figure.
Therefore:
Reina
Johnson / Carragher / Agger / WARNOCK
Gerrard / POULSEN
Kuyt / COLE / BELLAMY
Torres
Subs: JONES / Skrtel / BALOTELLI / Lucas / Babel / JOVANOVIC / Pacheco.

Following reports that Kenny Dalglish was in Dublin last night watching Argentina play the Republic of Ireland in order to check up on possible target Ever Banega, it has now been revealed that Dalglish was infact in Dublin to hold talks with Javier Mascherano in an attempt to convince the midfielder to stay at Anfield for one more season.

It is believed that Mascherano made it clear to Dalglish that he still intended on moving to either Inter or Barcelona, and that he wants a deal resolved as soon as possible so that he can get settled in at his new surroundings.

Liverpool are believed to be looking for around £25m for the Argentina skipper.

Bastian Schweinsteiger to liverpool

I've not heard anything mentioned about Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer. Apart from him being German. I think he'd be a great addition to the midfield.

He'd slot into any role across the middle and at only 25,

I'd imagine he cost 41million mark

But he would be worth it.

After the arrivals of brad jones 3 million and christian poulson 4.5 million. Roy will look to buy aislan on a free
mario bolatti on a 1 year loan deal

Roy is also set to make enquires for

Bellamy loan or a £4 million deal

Warnock should cost around £6 million

Wright phillips possible loan deal or £5 million

Ryan taylor (i actually have a source for this, ryan taylors brother in law) would cost around £2/£3 million

(it would be nice seeing taylor and warnock in liverpool shirts 2 local scouse lads also funny about aislan, rafa enquired about him last year and was quoted £10 million ahahahahaha)

after the arrival of christian poulson, javier mascherano is set to move to Barcelona for a fee of £24 million,

also alan pardew has made a enquire about the availability of kristian nemeth on a season long loan.

diego caverli will move to pailmeres for a fee of £3 million

Thanks
Dan YNWA

also my view on the take over on the 2 potential candidates

Kyrdi, this guy looks like a greasy second hand car salesman, and the fact that hick's son is on the board just shows that he is a snake, imo, he has the potential to do worse than the yanks, and the fact that he wants 2 months to decide, just shows how dodgy he is, he could be trying to raise money in 2 months from loans, then say he is buying it without loan (kinda reminds you of 2 people doesent it)

Kenny Huang, this guy seems like the right candidate, he mapped out his aims for liverpool (whilst kyrdi hasent) and they were
1) wipe the debt
2) keep roy as manager
3) buy liverpool a galaxy of superstars and convince torres and gerrard to stay after this season
4) to build a new stadium
plus he is loaded!!! hell he gave his daughter a £7 billion company for her birthday!!!
also he is trying to arrange a meeting with the s.o.s to try and convince the fans to force the takeover through so he can own the club, he also seems to care about the fans and the club, making him the right owner

thanks again my fellow liverpool fans YNWA :)

Liverpool to bring in 3 new players. Brad Jones will join for £2m, although it will involve us loaning Charles Itandje to Boro for the season. Aislan will also arrive on a free. He's only young and wants to play in Europe. Finally, after the sale of Mascherano, who will go to Barcelona after they missed out Fabregas, Liverpool will look to bring back Stevie Warnock. he's a home grown player so adds to that quota in Europe and has established himself as one of the best LB in the prem.
Should the takeover happen before the window the deal involving Arda Turan will happen, seeing £12m exchange hands.

Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will make a take it or leave it offer to Wigan for defender Maynor Figueroa, believed to be £6m. Hodgson has made no secret of his will to sign a new left-back and Figueroa is said to be high on his list with his agent even claiming two weeks ago that the deal to move to Liverpool was 90% complete. However it is believed that Hodgson is fast losing patience with Wigan who are reportidly stalling the deal in order to get a higher fee but with the player said to be keen on a move to Anfield, Wigan may be forced to accept Liverpool's final offer and the fee appears to be the only stumbling block in the saga as Figueroa's representatives are said to have agreed personal terms on behalf of the player.

If these reports are true, a deal for Figueroa will most likely be completed before Liverpool travel to Eastlands to play big spending Man City.

Hey guys. As optimistic as I am about this year, I think the future is much brighter for our club. And I am not one of these glory seeking fans who want us to imitate Chevksi and Man Chitty. I think with a few top notch young players added to our current crop of young stars we will return to glory the right way.
-Connor Wickham St
This Ipswich Town lad is just 17, loves the Pool, Torres is his idol, and he could be the next big thing.
-Romelu Lukaku St
Anderlecht's prized youngster is the next Drogba. We are in the chase to land him.
-Theo Walcott RW
It is just a matter of time before we get our guy. Would not come cheap but he is Red through and through and has bags of potential to improve still further.
-Marc Albrighton RW
If we can't get Walcott then Albrighton is the next best thing. I think this 20 year old is about to have a big year for Villa is Milner leaves.
-Juan Manuel Mata LW
Would be expensive like Walcott, but he is young and he is good. Tons of pace.
-Steven Defour CM
He could come in now and make an immediate impact
and continue to for years to come.
-Ever Banega CM
If not Defour then Banega would be great too.
-Micah Richards RB/CB
With City spending big we might be able to pluck away this young gem.
-David De Gea GK
This young Spanish keeper will only improve and if he is understudy to Reina for a few years he could be one of the best in the world.

Italian website LaRoma24.it claims that Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson could be willing to allow Alberto Aquilani to make a shock Anfield exit this summer as he looks to recoup a significant portion of the £16.6 million paid out by Rafael Benitez to AS Roma last year.
Signed as a replacement for Xabi Alonso in the centre of the park, the Italian international has struggled to overcome persistent injury problems and seen his form roundly criticised by portions of the media. It is believed that several clubs in Serie A have been monitoring his situation with a view to rescuing him from his Anfield nightmare.

I dont think liverpool will get sold

(Liverpool hang in limbo‎). I dont think this guy has the money to buy liverpool fc and the other bids are also weak.

liverpool may try to purchase Craig Bellamy. Craig Bellamy is a decent player, just has problems being human (difficult to manage)

I think William Gallas could be option, (33yr)

I'm Welsh, and a lifelong Cardiff City fan and also a fan of Craig Bellamy. I have met him several times and the man, despite his temperament sometimes (John Arne Riise golfclub fiasco for example) is a good man and speaks from his heart but is never scared to speak his mind. I have read some internet sites regarding the fact Hodgson is interested in re-signing Bellamy. Here's my take on the possiblilty and a little info into the personal life of Bellamy.

Craig Bellamy has been a target of Roy Hodgson for quite some time. He never had the funds available to sign Bellamy while at Fulham and if so, he would have at least bid for Bellamy a long time ago. Now with Bellamy omitted from Man City's Europa League squad at the moment, and Bellamy admitting the indication from City is that he won't be included in the 25 man Premier League squad implies that he will look for a move elsewhere. Despite Cardiff being his home town and he wants to end his career there and his wife and children live in Cardiff, Cardiff are currently struggling financially and will therefore be unable to finance such a move. Bellamy was unhappy living in London which was one of the reasons, other than Mark Hughes, of joining City. Would Craig be willing to move back south in order to join Tottenham? One thing is for certain, the prospect of potentially playing Champions League football with Spurs may be attractive for him. However, Bellamy has always felt at home in the north of England after playing with Newcastle, Blackburn, Liverpool and Man City for example. If the speculation is true that Hodgson is interested in bringing Bellamy back to Anfield, I think it would be a terrific move for both the player and club. Liverpool need to prove a point this year to all people not connected to the club somehow as people say Liverpool are in "freefall" or in the words of Albert Riera, a "sinking ship". Liverpool need players who play for the shirt with pride and passion, wear their heart on their sleeve, players who strive for success to get them back on top where they belong. I think Bellamy, given the chance, would be a fantastic signing for you guys. Depending on whether City would do a deal, a loan for a season would be the best option to see how it works out and obviously, until you get new owners, you may not be able to afford him until next year so this deal would be great for everyone involved. I really like Liverpool FC and have great respect for the club, its history and its fans, you are amazing! Hope to be at Anfield with my beloved Cardiff next season. YNWA

More about the takeover;
Liverpool have cancelled today's board meeting at Anfield to discuss ownership, Chairman Martin Broughton had hoped to agree a sale before the transfer deadline and requested detailed proposals by the middle of this week, takeover before the end of August now looks very unlikely.
News about Transfer;

Liverpool have agreed a £2m deal with Middlesbrough for goalkeeper Brad Jones and have finalized the £5.5m signing of Christian Poulsen from Juventus.

More to come I hope

We have great youth players with bags of potential and it would be a waste of their talent if we buy new players in their positions! our youth players like Pacheco, Nemeth, Shelvey, Kelly, Wilson, Gulacsi etc. will never get a game and wont develop into world class players!
we should be looking for the next Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Carra etc. instead of buying 26-30 year old foreign players!
