James Milner, Charlie Adam, Ashley young, Gary Cahill are all on the radar for the summer! I've been speaking to a scout for Liverpool in my local boozer in Salford. I'm scouser who lives in Manchester. This guy is the real deal. He told me it was on his recommendation that we signed jonjo shelvey. He said the owners will back the club all the way back to the top!

Not a rumour just my opinion on what will happen in the summer

Alexis Sanchez will not sign for Liverpool in the summer unfortunately. Chelsea seem very interested (and can offer champs league footy) so I reckon he'll either go there, man city or madrid.

Charlie Adam will sign for Liverpool if KK still fancies signing him. Would do a good job for us with Stevie G been more injury prone recently. Lucas and Meireles in CM are to light weight.

Ashley Young - we will defo put in a bid for him. It depends on the likes of Spurs, MU, city, as if they bid for him he'll prob join them due to CL. Ed's saying its nailed on - I reckon 50/ 50, nothing has been decided on who he'll join. Would be a good signing as he'd offer badly needed width and would suit Carroll.

Personally I'd like KK to be appointed asap
Signing need to be made for left back, centre half, and the wings more than anywhere else. Enrique, Cahill, Young, Payet would be solid signings.
WE NEED TOP 4 IN NEXT YEARS PL AT ALL COSTS

I heard off a close mate of mine about an hour ago that we are very interested in sanchez at the right price.
iv never posted anything hes told me before because he is only correct about 40/ 50% of the time so don't go reading into it to much. the reason i posted this time is because of all the hype surrounding the situation. but everything else iv posted in the last day or so has come from a reliable source.
cheers lads.

Ed are we actually interested in dzsudzsak from psv? what info do you have on him? seems a good player actually , he's got nearly 50 goals for psv already not bad at all for a winger. also like my fellow liverpool fans im worried that we could miss out on benzema hes on world class form at real madrid at the moment , but if we don't get him can't blame macca people cause as the ed says things change , players score goals and then the club wanna keep them , but im still gonna go on maccas word. {Ed001's Note - all I have on him is that we are watching him closely, the kind of close eye that usually precedes a move for the player.}

Dear Macca and ED001,

I have a simple question specially for Macca's post regards to Benzema. I firmly believe in what Macca posts here but somehow, after his initial comment on an almost done deal for Benzema, I am having my doubts now if he would move to Liverpool after having recovered his scoring form at RM.

I guess we can say good bye to him coming to LFC in the summer.

I hope a zillion tons that Macca is correct over the eds. Somehow I feel so sad that out of all the previous posts by Macca, this is the one which is going to get wrong.

No matter what the outcome from this, MACCA I will still believe you over the eds.

To ED001, now did we have anyback up striker in case BENZEMA fails to come to LFC {Ed001's Note - we have looked at a number of strikers, we bid for so many in January (including Benzema) that I still haven't managed to get it all straight in my head. A lot of those players are still targets, Gervinho, Hoarau, Toivonen and Benzema being the ones that spring to mind. To be honest I really would say that, as Benzema and Gomez are showing, things can change so quickly it is difficult to be certain of what will happen in the summer. For instance Adam is almost certain right now to be joining us, but his leanings are towards United, so if they move for him I doubt we would get him.}

12 Mar 2011 19:29:02
So now we're looking at Dszudszak. Now that means we're interest in Young, Merveaux and Dszudszak for the same position. I reckon Dszudszak might be a back up if the Young or Merveaux deal does not go through. Ed you rate Dszudszak? {Ed001's Note - that is not true, Young and Marveaux play a number of positions, I don't believe the move is contingent on each other. I have been told it will be Marveaux + 2 others for the wide positions, Young most likely being one purely because we were close to a deal in January. But there are new suitors showing interest in him, which could mean he ends up completely out of the picture as we are not going to be held to ransom on our targets.}

Your right that Young and Merveaux play in numerous positions but left wing is their strongest positions. I hope we're buying players to play in their strongest positions.

Anyway do you think we will get Young or do you think a team will get him such as United? {Ed001's Note - I think United have other targets, Rodwell for instance, my worry is that a London team will move for him, he would like a return down south.}

Regarding Dszudszak. .I believe hes very similar to Gareth Bale as a player and my mate in Holland tells me Liverpool scouts been attending PSV matches on a regular basis. .he thought it was for Afellay when he was there but they r apparently after DszudSzak. . I also heard that Payet and not young is the player we r after if we fail to get Dszudszak. .cheers mate , keep up the good work

Ed, out of 10 what are the chances of signing these players?

David De Gea (If Reina leaves)
Fabio Coentrao
Simon Kjaer
Sylvain Marveux
Ashley Young
Charlie Adam
Jeffren Suarez
Bojan Krkic

I would say Sanchez too but you all seem to think that's a no-go but i think it could happen. {Ed002's Note - 5, 0, 4, 9, 7, 7, 2, 2}

Hey is tawio any good. i don't wanna go on utube for ovious (spelling) reasons

Cheers

RED SKETTLE {Ed002's Note - I am not sure about the YouTube rationale but he is a decent but not outstanding left back who can take free kicks. He would be a decent squad addition. He has struggled a bit to keep his weight down.}

My source has told me that James Milner is unhappy at man city and is looking for a transfer. City are looking to recoup about 14 million of what they paid for him last summer. This has alerted Kenny Dalgish and Damian comolli. If signed he will operate a central midfield role in a 4-3-3 formation alongside gerrard and Meireles. Ashley Young , Charlie Adam and Karim Benzema are not being looked at so don't believe any of the hype. Marveux looks a certainty to come in. Another player that Liverpool are looking at is soritis ninis of panathanaikos. Liverpool are going to test evertons resolve with an initial Offer of 10.5 million but are prepared to pay up to 14.5 + if everton don't give in we will offer Newcastle 5 million plus konchesky for Enrique . Yann m'vila will
Be the another transfer this summer alongside a left sided forward . I will get back to you about that asap.
Please post, any thoughts ed?
Joe Higgs {Ed002's Note - No thoughts at all.}

Ed , i know your getting sick of all the questions , but do you think we are interested in sanchez ?. .as i went on the chelsea page , because there favourites to get him but one of the editors said that liverpool may be interested! ?

Many thanks
LFCmatty {Ed002's Note - Whether or not Liverpool are interested in Sanchez I cannot see him making the move. Liverpool have not made a bid for the player.}

12 Mar 2011 15:31:26
Ed, how many signings do you think we'll make? {Ed001's Note - hard to say for sure, but the intention is to make 5 or 6 signings.}

I know its hard to say on this one but , who do you expect us to sign?

{Ed002's Note - Read the earlier posts.}

Yes but ed , , you say 5-6 signings , but you only mentioned m'vila , adam , young , marveux which is only 4 , so who are the other 2 you expect us to sign or have a chance of? {Ed002's Note - There are plenty of other players mentioned below.}

12 Mar 2011 14:43:53
I believe that if the club are able to secure Marveaux and Taiwo on free transfers they may target these players who are all gettable.
Javi Martinez Mats Hummels Albrighton Nolito and Payet this lot represent the types of players that are possible targets and are value for money.

{Ed002's Note - Now that Benfica's interest in Taiwo has waned, the player has said that a move to England is possible.}

12 Mar 2011 12:52:52
Why do the eds say that none of the good players will come to liverpool when if you go on the chelsea rumours section they say that top players like aguero will be going there. I know they are in the champions league, but they a not guarenteed to be in for next year, they have an ageing squad, and plus we have got new owners who I am sure would like to prove themselves in the transfer market. I think that maybe we should not be as negative about liverpools chances of signing top players. For example everyone was saying we wouldn't sign a player of suarez's standard and we did. {Ed002's Note - The Eds are providing their opinions when asked. If you don't like to hear those opinions skip over the posts. Bleating about it doesn't help anyone I am afraid.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Ed002 is the one who always says we have no chance of getting good players. The other Eds say we have a small chance.

{Ed002's Note - I have never said that Liverpool have no chance of getting "good players" - what I have said is that certain players will not be moving to Liverpool (Messi, Hazard, Dzeko etc.) - so if you are going to get picky and start bitching about the Editors, then please make sure that you are factually correct.}.

Ed/ Macca

Heard a rumour from a mate in glasgow that Liverpool are looking at aiden mcgeady with a view to a possible move. He is good and i think better than what we have in jobanovic etc. . But I wouldn't rate him at the level we need to be playin at.

Have either of you heard anything which would confirm or squash this rumour?

Carrickfergus Red {Ed002's Note - It has been doing the rounds and is plausible - I will try and see if I can find out how true it is. With their season about to begin January would have been the time for a move - and there was an enquiry from Juventus.}

ED's realisticly who at the moment(i know it's only march) are the players mostly likely to sign. Is all this talk about young and benzema actually going to materialise and do you have any more info on cole to spurs(for free).

{Ed002's Note - I expect Marveaux to arrive if his injury clears up. Others are saying Adam, Young and Benzema are nailed on and all but done, but I am not convinced that the deal with Benzema is done yet, and I think Manchester United maintain an interest in Young. There is a possibility of a defensive midfielder (perhaps someone like M'Vila) and maybe a Sissoko type player. The pages are littered everyday with discussion on the se subjects.}

What 'type' is Sissoko? Never seen him play. .

{Editor's Note: I don't know what you mean by "type" of player. He is a central midfield player who will get a few goals. He would be a decent addition to the squad.}

12 Mar 2011 11:49:37
Ed, i know you can't be sure but how much investment do you think there will be in the summer? In order to get back in the top 4 we are going to need to spend more than the other clubs otherwise we will just fall back even further? {Ed002's Note - It is not how much is spent it is how it is spent. NESV are not going to run wild with the spending. The money to be made available by NESV will largely come in the first instance from money generated by the club, which needs to be self-sufficient as we all know. On the plus side the significant interest payments are no longer needing to be made, but I suspect there are some pretty significant one off payments to be accounted for. I think if you are expecting NESV to throw enormous sums of their own money in to transfers, you will have a bit of a long wait until that happens. I do however have no doubts that they will provided financing themselves as necessary.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Right, lets say that Benzema, Young, Adam, Marveaux sign. And M'Vila and Enrique sign too (what my mate tells me, he's fairly reliable). Surely we're lacking another winger. Marveaux is ok, but not great; Ashley Young is decent but we need a quality winger like Dzsudzsak, Elia, Turan, Payet, etc? I reckon we'll make 7 signings, but I dunno? Ed, your thoughts? {Ed002's Note - My thoughts are well known that I am not convinced that the gimme signing of Benzema will happen, that the Young deal may not involve Manchester United, that a left back will come in at all. There was the chance to sign Elia in January but the fee was considered too high - perhaps that is something that may be revisited. Payet will be moving this summer, so a chance there if the club are interested. Turan will also be moving this summer.}

12 Mar 2011 11:48:16
Ed what do you think is the chance out of 10 of us signing honda, sanchez, turan, young or hazard? {Ed002's Note - 4, 0, 3, 7, 0}

Did read about cole to spurs? so got on the phone to my B-I-L he claims harry would be interested But only on a free! he won't spend money on the player as he has more important targets! {Ed002's Note - And Liverpool would need to pay Joe Cole off as well.}

Hey Ed, you didn't follow up on my post:( So I am again posting it!
Which all clubs are in good terms with LFC(via individuals and board) which may help us in future transfer dealings?
I mean like:
King Kenny- Celtic:Izaguirre, Newcastle:(had a say in Carroll transfer?)
Comolli- St.Etienne:Payet, Matuidi, Tottenham
Clark- Chelsea, West Ham
Sammy Lee- Bolton(their fans still call him Little Sam!)

Also, I would like to know whether Benitez's frosty relationship with Valencia was the reason why we couldnt sign any players from them? Afterall, they had a great squad which had won 2 La Ligas, UEFA cup and were twice runners up in Champions League!

Please reply! Thanks

{Ed002's Note - A different Ed I guess. The transfer market does not work in quite so much a friendly manner as you might think. It is the players that need to be sold on a new club and much of the selling is done by agents who are seeing money as the most significant driver. So Steve Clarke, having spent years at Chelsea, is really not going to make any difference in the case of a player moving to Liverpool. Although saying that, Kenny Dalglish does undoubtedly have a good relationship with Celtic, but I doubt it would influence transfers. Comolli has a gentleman's agreement with St-Et not to take their players but (1) Comolli did not leave the club on good terms at all and (b) They would take a good offer on both players mentioned - with Payet expected to join PSG. I struggle to visualise Sammy Lee being told to go along to Bolton and don't come back until Cahill has signed up.}

12 Mar 2011 09:41:11
Ed, i think you will agree that against braga on thursday which was a difficult match, the poorer players show that they are not good enough in matches like that and kk can improve them but you can't change a players qualities to a significant digree. So reguarding ashley young and adam. I think adam will be the best midfielder we will have if we get him. A proper midfielder is about passing, tempo of the game, vision and good at set pieces, which is what we DON'T have. Yes people will say merielses and gerrard but merielses is a scoring midfielder that lets the game pass by and i personally think gerrard is past it and was never a Passing midfielder but a driver from midfeild. NOW regarding young, I don;t rate him, many that have real knowledge about football don't rate him and i don't see kk turning him into anything special, His crossing is poor, hes not an Out an out winger, hes not great on the ball and he fails to look up at pivital times which you are born with not something you can be naturally tought and he never turns up against the big guns when needs being, and i think KK will find this out himself. I trust kk with managing the players and choosing the playerss, but even the best managers at least get one signing wrong, BUT IM HOPING UNITED SCUPPER THE DEAL AND HE GOES TO THEM, because we will then pursue BETTER options which we SHOULD be doing in the first place.

Ed, would you agree mostly about young?

{Ed002's Note - I don't agree that Braga was a difficult match. They are an average side at best and it was a poor performance by Liverpool. I would also not want to see some of the younger players judged on one performance alone. As for Young, I am not convinced but the implications are that Kenny Dalglish is interest. I also would not rule out interest from Manchester United, but then Macca says the deal is all but done. So we will have to wait and see.}

Liverpool in bid to bring xabi back

12 Mar 2011 06:07:30
Kenny wants a prolific striker, 2 midfielders- a creative midfielder and a holding midfielder, a solid left back with good crossing/ a strong CB with good aerial ability, 3 natural wingers and a forward winger.

Comolli has identified the following:

Benzema, Hoarau
M'Vila, Matuidi, Sissoko, Adam
Enrique, Baines, Kadlec, Cahill, Richards
Dzsudzsak, Turan, Payet, Young, Marveaux
Gervinho, Elia

12 Mar 2011 07:15:50
We are interested in

Payet
M'Vila
Enrique
Cahill
Gervinho
Hoarau
Elia
Benzema
Young
Dzsudzsak
Baines
Adam
Kadlec
Matuidi

I read that a guy named martin is saying that i copied and pasted info from twitter regarding mcmahon being sacked, if he read this info on twitter that's fine, but doesn't mean i copied and pasted it from there, the guy that tells me these things knows a lot of people, and could have told anybody, i just posted what i heard, and will continue to do so.

Ed iv also heard from a good source that we are hoping to persuade karim benzema and ashley young to join in the summer, and that we are quietly confident of signing them, not nailed on, but there is a chance/ /

jay b {Ed001's Note - there is a chance, Young is very close, Benzema is difficult as he wants playing time guarantees which he won't get from KK.}

your spot on ed according to my source, that is the only stumbling block with benzema. he would welcome the move, but feels he has done enough bench warming in madrid and feels he is better than that.
i think there are better options out der but he is a good forward on his day, and would be a good addition, provided he gets a good kick up the ar5e because he is lazy at times.

Its mark albrigton and not ashley young that we are looking at. Charlie adam is not going to sign as we rate him at 5mill and blackpool wnt nearer 12

Very strong rumours that John McMahon about to be dismissed as LFC reserves boss. Pep Segura to take his place.

. u heard it here.

Fair play. He was spot on.

You do realise he just copied and pasted from Richard Buxton's Twitter?

Anyway, my friend from Leicester says we'll approach Didi Hamann in the summer for the reserve manager's job. He's not in-the-know or anything, it's just a rumour making the rounds.

listen mate, firstly, i really doubt that this buxton lad was the only lad who heard about segura coming in, and secondly, i don't even use twitter so in future don't go saying that i did this or that, u don't know me so cop on. .

Please post this on rumours page, ed. thanks

I think that the only goalkeeper who is reasonable and good enough to replace Reina is Maarten Stekelenburg. i strongly believe that Liverpool will put in an offer for him for about 20-35 mill. . . .
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
20-35 mil is too much to be called reasonable plus you need to look at Manuel Neuer who is currently carrying his team. He was in the bundesliga team of the season last season and will definitely be the keeper for this season too. He looks almost certain to leave Schalke. United are interested in both these keepers although Bayern also has interest in Neuer. Neuer is being touted at about 15 mil
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'd go all out for Neuer myself but the germans rarely move out of bundesliga barring a few exceptions, especially when you consider the fact that neuer is competing with adler(who is a world class himself) for the top spot in the german national team.

The one i would like is David De Gea. I watch Spanish football and Revista La Liga all the time. And this kid is fantastic. He's only 19-20 which fits the thinking of the owners (Young, value for money).

He's got everything that Pepe has but deals with crosses better. If Pepe left and we went for him and were told to fork out 25-30 mill, then "were do i send the cheque" is what i'd say.

Athletico paid 12-15 mill for a keeper last summer. Then he got injured for a couple of weeks a few months ago, but De Gea has kept him out ever since.

I think if reina does go in the summer, and i think he might, then paul robinson is a good steady replacement. to sell reina for 20m+ and buy robinson for 5m would imo be good business.
reina is quality theres no doubting that, but has been making a few silly errors of late, maybe his heart just isn't in it any more and his mind is else where?
ed what do you think to the replacement, and do you think pepe will leave? also would that be the end of the spainish revalution at anfield?

matt 27 {Ed001's Note - I do think he is likely to leave, it does seem more likely than him staying, but you can never be sure of these things. I am not a fan of Robinson though, I think he is a very average keeper, hopefully it won't really matter as we will be playing too well to concede many regardless.}
