Hey everybody
just two things i heard, the marin rumors were started by a newspaper called bild ( spelling might be wrong , its like the german version of the sun ) so i don't no what to believe it or not
and secondly i heard a reason it took so long ( i don't say i believe it its just an interesting point ) for kenny to sign was an issue with players, he wanted and has full control and last say in transfer, but comolli pleaded with him to sign hes choice , yann mvila insted of kennys choice charlie adam and kenny was stalling about this as he really really rates adam, and it has been resolved that will be sign comollis choice for EVERY other decision will be kennys, as soon as he heard damien wdnt be interfering with any other future transfers he was happy to sign

title next year :)

Eds. Why oh why do the LFC fans not sing 'John Henry was a steel-driving man' at Anfield' - JH would love it too! Its an American Anthem and it kicks ass! The place would be rocking! If anyone knows how to get this info/idea to the die-hards who get these tunes catching on (i think they have phone networks set up), it would be great. The words can be changed if need be, in true LFC style. . . I'm no poet so give it a try folks.

ps. If you don't know the song, its an old one - Bruce Springsteen does a quality version of it with the Seeger Sessions Band at St. Lukes church - check it out on YouTube, listen to it LOUD! (I'm an old rocker though, so I would say that!).

Imagine that at Anfield! It would be some craic! mighty craic indeed! A great thank you for getting Kenny & rescuing the club. I think JH would really appreciate the sentiment, and every time I hear that tune it brightens up my day! Any thoughts? If any of you like the idea and go on any any other forums (traitors!) please suggest the idea there, I know everyone would enjoy it! I'd love to hear it catch on someday!

BJH YNWA {Ed007's Note - I know the song, that would get a ground rocking}

Please post in rumours ed as this relates to all the Alonso rumours!

It is highly unlikely that lfc would sign somebody of Alonso's age now unless it was a keeper or a centre back. The reason is quite simple really. Should lfc pay 20 mil or so for alonso, his value could only decrease. Compare that with Young for example who's value would only increase.

The owners want future stars who will have a long and successful career at Anfield an should we ever decide to move them on, a good transfer fee would be received.

As good as Alonso is, I personally think its time we moved on and brought a long term replacement in for Gerrard. Sissoko maybe or M'Villa.

Just my view anyway and btw, loved Alonso whilst he was with us. Just want to see young world beaters at our club that will stay together for years to come. Until the next batch!

Downing has not pledged his future but merely intimated that Villa have initiated contract talks this is different from signing a contract. This is a PR excercise from Villa so they won't look like a selling club when both Downing and Young leave! As for Lavezzi being average? The only think that's average is your footballing brain. Lavezzi is keeping Tevez out of the Argentinian team you tool. You do the maths. We have to face facts we are light years away from attracting the likes of Sanchez, Aguero et al we just can't afford the the wages. Aguero would be here tommorow but he will be on 150-200k a week soon and we just can't compete hence the policy of youth. We will be a diluted selling club in essence until we start winning championshops and titles. As for reading regurgitating caughtoffside rumours grow up fella football transfers are hard to keep quiet the media regardless of how you deem them get hold of stories and may turn out to be true. I will not be put off conveying what i hear because im a fan first and formost and share my inside knowledge as i make a supposition that other reds fans wanna hear it

Quick confirmation that if Alonso really wanted to come back to us from Madrid, he could buy out his contract . . . .so hopefully that should stop all Alonso rumours from now on.

I've been working on this info day and night since the notion occurred to me and I can now confirm that madrid would listen to offers for alonso. The people in charge there are trying to nurture a youth policy and see sahin as alonsos replacement, he would still be a first teamer at madrid but are open to offers, alonso is said to be satisfied there but would jump at the chance to return.
If I can get this info then I'm positive kenny and co can too. SIGN him up!

Matt Jarvis will be one of the wingers brought in this summer along with either A. Johnson but more likely young, a world class left back left back and a world class striker be prepared for a shock.
Jarvis is on his way and will be a revelation

Heard from a fairly reliable source that interest in Gael Clichy is hotting up, he is interested in leaving the Emirates after falling out with the manager and is disillusioned with life in North London.

He sees Gibbs as his replacement and is disappointed with how he's played and how the club has performed.

He sees Liverpool as an ideal place for a fresh start as he knows Commoli and thinks some more french players will be joining. He knows he would be getting first team starts and that we need a good LB and is confident of getting the move.

Stuart Downing's agent in talks with Liverpool. News of the improved Villa contract offer was leaked to the press by downings agent for bargaining power. Expect an announcement on or around 30th May. Weve been turned down by Mata (City very interested), M'villa, Levezzi and Angel. Info was ascertained from a well known British football agent Ive been friends with for 18 years. He said Young is considering Liverpool or United but Villa are gonna try and create a bidding war. Maxi definitely staying and QPR sniffing round Joe Cole who doesent want to move but seeking assurances from KD. Cahill is not LFC bound as yet there is a dispute over transfer fee Bolton holding out for as much as they can get. Wenger not interested in Cahill any more as he prefers Sakho who is cheaper and more versatile. Coutinho is a genuine target but unlikely as he prefers Spain or wants to stay in Italy. More news when I get it.

Downing is staying at Villa, he released a statement earlier today. . Stop making stuff up seriously, Its not a rumour when you just make things up. Think you just went on Caughtoffside.com and repeated everything they've said. . Lavezzi? I think that's a joke if you believe that one, his agent has always touted him around European clubs for the past few years and still he hasn't moved, every wonder why that is? Its cos he might look good in Italy but he's a very average player IMO. The only one player mentioned by Damien Comolli is Ashley Young from your list and there's still doubts over Young coming to Anfield, all the others are just the media guessing who will join like they've done all this year. Please stop repeating media reports, its just annoying at this stage. .

21 year old Martin Kelly a great versatile player, perhaps already better than Johnson and we would swap him for a 26 year old Baines who although i think is a class player, would rather pay for him in cash or give 'em spearing instead. .

Kelly for Baines? No thank you!

Ashley Young has been given permission to speak to Liverpool as they have agreed a fee with Aston Villa. I work at Loc8 estate agents and I have been contacted by his people to find a suitable home for him in the merseyside area and being a Liverpool fan I dared to ask a few questions. Surprisingly this gentleman was very open about it. Now I can tell you this because I leave Loc8 estate agents tomorrow as I am moving to Australia on Monday.

McDonald Mariga has been actively scouted as a possible DM. Seen by DC as young enough to improve but experienced enough to settle straight into the 1st XI.

Along with the various French players mentioned (Sissoko, Matuidi being the most significant) Mariga is on a shortlist of signings.

It is felt by KK, DC and Steve Clarke that while Lucas and Jay have stepped up to the plate above and beyond expectations (Jay was going to be moved on) a more destructive but mobile DM is needed to allow Lucas, Stevie and Raul to play further up the pitch. Jay will be first choice reserve.

It's been an interesting day for rumours.

We've apparently started talks with St. Etienne over Blaise Maltuidi and Dimitri Payet. We've started looking at Phillipe Coutinho. Shane Long is on our radar and Brad Friedel may make a return to add competition for Reina.

But, let's face it, the best two signings we'll be making all summer have already happened - King Kenny and Steve Clarke are now our permanent management team.

Couldn't be happier.

Ok we need at least a winger but lets see the difference between these players:

*Ashley Young. .> Age: 26 hes great(dribbling, shooting, controls the ball easily, team work. 16 mil )

*Lennon. .> Age: 24(too fast, dribbling, team work, . we can get him since tottenham hasnt qualified to the CL, 16 mil)

*Afellay. .> Age:25 (too fast also, dribbling, team work, we can get him since hes playing just a few minutes, moreover just in a 8 mil deal)

I hope we can get 2 of them and I prefer Lennon and Afellay. . . . . YNWA

Hi Eds

How likely are we to sign Robben? Seems a few people are talking about him at the minute. I've not seen him for a few years, is he still any good.

I like the idea of Ashley Young though, I have always rated him highly and I think he will suit Liverpool's style of play

Also, a few people are putting on here their teams for next season, why are they missing out Dirk Kuyt, he has been our most consistent performer this season and i don't think Sir King Kenny will use his as a sqaud player next season.

{Ed002's Note - Practically no chance of Robeen moving to Liverpool. If he moves I am pretty sure it will be to Italy.}

Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool FC today confirmed that Kenny Dalglish has been appointed as Team Manager.

Dalglish, who was initially given the job until the end of the current campaign, has signed a three year deal with the Reds. It was also announced that First Team Coach Steve Clarke has put pen to paper on a three year contract.

Principal Owner John Henry said: "Kenny is a legendary Liverpool figure both as a supremely gifted footballer and successful manager. Since returning in January he has shown extraordinary leadership and the ability to bring the best out of so many people associated with the Club. It was obvious to us very early on that the atmosphere surrounding the Club had been transformed by his presence. No one else could have produced such a response. Therefore, I'm delighted we have agreed to a new contract. We didn't need nor want to look elsewhere for the right man to manage the team.

"Working closely with him, we've seen first-hand his love for the Club and his determination to do whatever is necessary to produce a winning side again. He has a unique relationship with our supporters and embodies everything that is special about the Liverpool way of doing things. Liverpool enjoys a global standing within the sport, but having Kenny in the dug-out will help us in our efforts to bring the best available talent to the Club as we continue to move the club forward.

"I'm also pleased we have reached an agreement with Steve Clarke, as his contribution to Kenny's backroom team has been significant over the past four months."

Chairman Tom Werner commented: "It was extremely important that we enjoyed a period of stability after some difficult times and Kenny has done a tremendous job over the last three months in bringing the whole Club back together. It's clear how much the players have responded to his leadership, his man management skills and knowledge of the game and that sense of optimism now runs throughout the Club. We have a clear vision of the way a Liverpool team should play and the way the Club should be run and Kenny's inspirational effect on the senior squad and his keenness to involve and feature the younger players from our Academy set-up sits perfectly with that way of thinking."

John Henry added: "This has been an exciting time in the history of the Club. The appointments of Ian Ayre and Damien Comolli and now Kenny represent a significant strengthening of our senior management team going forward. We face a huge challenge to take Liverpool back to the level its fans deserve and in an increasingly competitive environment, but I'm confident we now have the right people in place to do that."

Managing Director Ian Ayre said: "This is great news and it was an easy decision to make in the sense that there was never anybody else in the running. Over the last few months everybody has had a great opportunity to work together; the owners, Kenny, Damien and myself and it's there to be seen what Kenny and Steve Clarke have achieved together.

"I'm not surprised by what Kenny has achieved since he returned to the Club. It's an amazing achievement for him to have got us where we are but somebody who I respect a lot in football said to me once if you are going to pick a manager then pick a winner and that's what Kenny is. For a long time we have needed people here who really understand what this Club is, what it means to our fans and what makes it different to other clubs. Kenny knows that inside out and I think that's a key quality. He understands what matters at Liverpool and what needs to be done here."

Kenny Dalglish said: "I said when I took the job on in January that I was just happy to help the Club out for the remainder of the season. Now the owners have decided in their wisdom that they want me to stay a little longer and it's fantastic news for both myself and Steve Clarke that we have signed these contracts. Both John and Tom have taken their time to assess what was best for the football club and bring in the people they wanted to take the Club forward. They are both winners, but understand what the supporters want from a Liverpool side and the way that we should go about things. This is a unique football Club and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to help build something special here again.

"I want to salute the efforts of all the players as they have been fantastic and thank everyone at the Club for the welcome they have given me since I returned in January.

"I also want to pay tribute to Steve Clarke's input since we started working together as he has brought great experience and knowledge to the role. The players enjoy the training sessions, understand their relevance to our actual football games and have responded brilliantly."

He said the owners are due to fly in for the match on Sunday as it is the last home game of the season and more importantly they will appoint Dalglish as manager. He has also been told that there will be a VIP guest, a player or an agent, he wasn't told which. Need to keep a look out on Sunday at the guys in suits to see who it might be.

Liverpool will start negotiations with a number of people of the next few days and into next week. We all have known the owners would be here for the Spurs match and I said a couple of weeks ago that they want to confirm the permanent appointment on Kenny Dalglish before the Spurs match. Talks have been taking place for a number of weeks now and all that remains is for the finer details to be ironed out. Dalglish's appointment will be confirmed along with Steve Clarke signing a long term contract, probably for the same length of time as Kenny.

Liverpool will then turn their attentions to their summer recruitment as Kenny wants to complete all transfer activity as early into pre-season as possible to give all new signings the chance to settle and blend with the squad ahead of the start of the season

Liverpool will enter talks with Aston Villa over the signing of Ashley Young and hope to be given permission to speak to Young and his representative after our away match with Villa on May 22nd. Aston Villa are tough negotiators as we found out over our pursuit of Gareth Barry. It is believed Villa are holding out for at least £15m with Liverpool only wanting to spend £10m-12m. Damien Comolli is very much a match for the tough negotiators at Villa as it was him who managed to knock down Ajax's asking price for Luis Suarez in January.

Sylvain Marveaux is nailed on and Liverpool are willing to take a risk in signing him despite his recent series of injuries. He is a player who has been tracked by both United and Chelsea over the past few years and has knocked them back due to his desire for first team football over money. Comolli is a massive fan of his and feels he is worth the risk.

Hey ed, has there been any new development on the Aqua situation? I don't want him back here, but am fearful if negotiations break down with Juve, there aren't many other suitors out there.

DownUnderRed.

{Ed002's Note - Sunday May 15 is the key day. Juventus have until then to exercise the option to buy at the contracted fee. After that Liverpool can sell to anyone else. He will not be returning to Anfield in all probability. Perhaps it will be clearer next week.}

Hi Ed, I have just heard from a very reliable source that we are looking in to the possibility of singing Joe Allen from Swansea. Have you heard anything? And what do you think the possibility is? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what the chances are. Sorry.}

Ed is there any fresh news on

D. Santon inter
S. Jovetic Fiorentina.
A. Sanchez Udinese.
J. Pastore. Palermo.
M. Krasic Juve.

{Ed002's Note - It rather depends what news you are expecting. None of these players will likely be moving to Liverpool over the summer.}

Ed have we shown any interest in the following?

S. Cazorla. Villereal
J. Mata. Valencia.
E. Banega. Valencia.

Also with Real Madrid now signing Sahin from Dortmund do we now have a chance of capturing Sergio Canales? Excellent player.

{Ed002's Note - I think you can probably forget Cazorla and Banega. Mata remains a chance as has been discussed at length. I expect that we will see some midfield players leave Real Madrid, but not Canales (unless it is a loan). Diarra is certainly available but my advice would be to steer well away as there is an enormous nuisance/baggage factor that goes with hime. I suspect Granero will also be made available.}

I'm intrigued by the return of the Shane Long rumours. He's a nice lad. And this season hasn't just been ab out his goal scoring, he's starting to play some nice football as well, which given his relatively short time in the game reflects his current team's faith in him.

I'm not convinced we'll make a bid. Who knows. I wouldn't be upset if we did. I doubt he'll be at Reading next season, unleSs they fluke it into the prem through the play-offs.

So ashley young looks certain, well its good we get 1 english winger atleast. He plays about 30 games a season hardly ever injured gets goals and assists every season and he seems to be the best english winger at the moment for me he is better the wallcot, lennon, shaun wright, adam , jarvis and his stats are much better then any other english winger this season i think.

But i hope the other winger we get is a spanish 1 hopefully it's mata for me his the best young left sided player around at his age, so hope we go after a talented spanish winger don't fancy the french lol.

Hi Ed. We can win d a title nxt season. Wht happends 2 spam if they don't free up their debt. Dont think they got cash 2 spnend this transfer window. Thats gr8. In King Kenny we trust {Ed002's Note - Manchester United are cash rich - so no issues there. All interest payments on existing debt is excluded from the Financial Fair Play regulations so it makes no difference at all.}

Hi, Eds.

Rumour has it that we have a very big chance of signing the following in the summer window :

1. G. Cahill
2. P. Jones
3. A. Cissokho
4. A. Young
5. J. Mata
6. B. Matuidi
7. J. McCarthy
8. S. Aguero (marquee signing)

What do you think, Eds? Could you please rate the chance for the names above (0-10 scale)?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - 4, 4, 3, 6, 3, 4, 4, 1.}

There's alot of speculation being posted lately, all mis-guided. Liverpool had a bid of 20mil rejected in the January transfer window for M. Richards, expect us to take up interest again in the summer window.

With Wolves and Wigan both likely to drop down to the Championship, expect us to go in and raid their better players (Jarvis and N'Zogbia), expect one of those two to sign, either as a first XI or a squad player.

A marquee signing will be a winger, if we decide to go British, it'll be either Young or A. Johnson, Downing speculation is just hype. Mata is also hype, if we go foreign expect someone with proven skill and the ability to continue growing.

Expected signings:
Richards
N'Zogbia
Jarvis
Young/ Johnson - If not then foreign replacement
Foreign winger - Too many to pinpoint at the minute

Maxi will stay to give squad depth (4 wingers) Meireles will play more centrally again with Spearing, Lucas, Gerrard and Meireles giving us good depth with Shelvey as cover in a variety of positions.

J. Cole will be sold. G. Johnson will stay at LB with Kelly being first choice RB.

My nephew has told me that Stewart Downing is nailed on for next season with Young going to united.
I'm not saying the lad who does the pitch announcements told him this, but. . . . . {Ed001's Note - lad? How old are you?}
