Ed, what you think of miralem pjanic and do we hold any sort of interest on him?
ngcool

Believable3 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic. Spurs are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that is very high. Manchester United also made an enquiry in the summer, but it went nowhere. Dortmund seem to have dropped their interest. It would take a very significant bid for him to move this summer and I rather think he will stay.}

He just signed a new deal at Roma

Is it possible Andre Wisdom go out on loan next season to Derby again? Would it be something Derby would be interested in, especially if they win the playoffs and get promoted? Could give Wisdom crucial Premier League experience.

Believable44 Unbelievable6

I'd start him over Johnson. Easily.

Agree4 Disagree1

I would get rid of Johnson in summer, get any sort of money and get rid of his wages. Flano, Kelly and Wisdom can all play right back. I think Kelly is the best of all of them if he can get fit, Flano can cover LB for whatever new left back comes in as well (and if we let go of Enrique).

Would keep Wisdom in and around the first team squad.

Agree1 Disagree1

No way is Kelly best of them now. Serious injuries like his often have a permanent effect.I will be very surprised if he is still at the club next season. Wisdom is of course considered to be more of a CB than a an RB.

Any interest in geis of Mainz. Seems like he could be a top player.

Eds

Ive read a report today that we are after Carvalho who I think plays in midfield for Sporting Lisbon? Any truth?

We've scouted him this season apparently?

Believable11 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been recent approaches by Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. Chelsea seem to have passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. The asking price will likely beyond what Arsenal would want to pay and I suspect Manchester United would also baulk at that price unless they see an impending bid from Manchester City. Atletico and Inter would look for a different solution financially. Jorge Mendes was in Manchester in late January to talk to the club about him and was in the UK at the end of March talking to another club about two players. Whether or not he met with Manchester United or not I don't know. At best I would think they have told him that they would like to take the player and would like to sit down with Sporting and him to see if a deal can be done - but they know the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player earlier in the year but I am not aware of any interest right now.}

Thank u Ed buddy. What a nice lengthy indepth reply mate

Much appreciated

Hi Eds,

Do you know whether or not our bid has been accepted for Lallana? If not, are we in the process of negotiation?

Top work this season, now time for a busy summer for you guys and girls!

Believable24 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if Southampton have responded or not but it won't be accepted.}

You don't think we will get him eds? Or have we bid 1.5 m or something mad as usual

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will need to match the valuation Southampton put on the player.}

Hi Ed

It won't be accepted? So will it be a case of negotiating up towards a figure that both clubs see acceptable? Do you think we have a good chance of getting the deal done?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

Ed why do you say it won't be accepted?
Is the offer well below the asking price or if soton don't want to sell him?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this already.}

Hi eds,

I know this is a ridiculous question but do you personally think Liverpool will match Soton's valuation? I really hope this doesn't become another Kono/Salah dealy.

Cheers eds and reds

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

If it's £35 million then that train won't be stopping. Just hope we don't end up more iago aspas types.

Agree1 Disagree1

I believe the player will hold out for other interested parties before deciding his future! He may well even stay at soton? Personally I don't think he wants to join us?

Agree0 Disagree0

You believe wrong. Lallana is happy to move to LFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guess Ed was right again, bid was rejected, lol how on earth do you get it right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't the bid about 16Mill? I understand S'ton are looking at around double that figure which is to much.

Hi Eds!

Any interest in Antoine Griezmann from Liverpool. Apparently we watched him a few days ago?

Make sure you're ready for a busy transfer window!

Believable10 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

Hi Eds,

Thanks for all the good work - As Glen Johnson has caused us a few goals in recent weeks, do you think he will leave in the summer (his contract may not be renewed considering his form and wages).

If he will leave, wouldn't this make the RB (or LB if Flafu were to come over to RB) a priority? Why are we bidding for Lallana first when our Midfield is already packed.

Also - would you be able to give us updates on Kelly please? And possibly the future of Rossiter (will he be promoted to senior squad next season?)

Thanks heaps

Believable17 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - Johnson has another year left on his contract, I doubt he will go anywhere before then.

We are bidding for Lallana because we need a creative midfielder to break down packed defences.

Kelly is just being eased back, similar to the way Flanagan was. He now has the summer to think about things and decide if he wants to look for a move or try and get back in the team. I would think Flanagan's example would be a good example to him though, as he was on his way out at one point, but knuckled down, worked harder and got his chance.

Rossiter has been in and around the squad all season for experience, I expect the same next season with a run out in the cups.}

Think the challenge with Johnson is finding someone who would want him enough to put in a reasonable bid. He's on pretty high wages and isn't getting any younger so I can't imagine there would be a ton of interest in him.

Agree1 Disagree0

RDL got it spot on. We would move him on if we could.

Agree1 Disagree0

I know the club are paying top wages to Johnson but surely he won't be allowed near Anfield or Melwood from now on .

If I ever had the ability to be a professional footballer, which I didn't by some distance, I would have instantly packed in after producing the performance he gave on Sunday, or at the very least made a public apology .

In spain, some media are stating that LFC is interested in Cristian Benavente (19) from Real Madrid B. He's a peruvian player and of course it has been commented by media in Perú as well. Do any of the Eds know anything about this interest? Could it be a player LFC would bid on? He's played with the national team a couple of times already but I don't know how likely he would be for a work permit

Believable3 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know, sorry.}

12 May 2014 15:07:24
Hi Eds,

Is it true that Southampton are interested Enrique? If so, could we use that as a carrot for making a bid for Shaw as well or would he be used in the Lallana deal. If we went after Shaw, in your opinion, would we hold the advantage over Utd?

Believable1 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - Shaw doesn't figure in any of this.}

12 May 2014 14:51:49
With the apparent drop of interest by Madrid in Moreno should we not be looking at trying to secure a deal for him?

Left back is our most problem position which should be addressed this summer. I think in Enrique, Aspas and Reina we have three players we could possibly use one of them in the deal to land Moreno.

Just a thought obviously. I understand Southampton have interest in Enrique so if he left we need to secure a left back first.

There is also the chance we could loan say a Teixera etc to the m for the season.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

In an ideal world that would be the case. As of yet we haven't displayed an interest but we are looking for a LB, so it could be an option. He will be expensive but I agree with ed001 when he says he would be the best LB for us and fits FSG's philosophy of being young with talent and huge potential to grow long term.

Agree1 Disagree0

Player exchanges just don't happen really, especially not when clubs need liquidity not another player on their books.

I don't know if Sevilla need cash (in the past they have) but I'm sure they would prefer cash

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is still interest from elsewhere for Moreno - but none from Liverpool.}

Looks more likely that he'll end up at Chelsea

Good morning Ed's. I read an article recently on who should be Liverpool's transfer targets, both in and out. Some I agree with, some I don't, and some seemed ludicrous. That aside, one player that I would love to see (after watching highlights) is Lucas moura. Do you know of any interest from LFC or anyone else and what region would his transfer fee be in? He's 21, strong and has great foot skills and vision. Looking forward to your response!

Believable6 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Juventus has a declared interest if he becomes available but baulked at the €40M plus asking price.

12 May 2014 11:12:52
Liverpool Football Club have made a formal bid for Southampton captain Adam Lallana.

The Premier League transfer window opened at midnight last night and the Reds have wasted no time in stepping forward with a formal offer for the attacking midfielder.

Liverpool have allegedly already agreed a package with Lallana via his agent after the player indicated that he wanted to seal a dream move to Anfield. However, at the time of writing permission hasn't been granted for the Reds to discuss a potential deal and that won't happen until Southampton accept a bid. Obviously any claims of any discussions between ourselves and the Lallana camp would be denied at this point.

Believable68 Unbelievable11

I swear one of the eds said the windows not open until June 1st?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - doesn't matter, the window is just when registrations can be transferred. Deals can be done at any time.}

July 1st actually

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi Ed01,

Does that mean Liverpool can sign Lallana before July 1st but wil have to wait till the window to open to publicise it?

Thanks a ton!
Ashish

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - He cannot be registered as a Liverpool player until July 1.}

Hi Ed
Just reading we have made a 20 million bid for Lallana good buy for me and will fit nicely into our style of play. Also papers saying genuine interest in Vorm for 7 million as completion for Mignolet. Usual lazy press or any substance what are your thoughts.
ROYZERED

Believable22 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I can confirm a bid for Lallana but the figure I was told is different. I cannot confirm anything about Vorm.}

What was the figure for lallana you were told ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant to you.}

As the figure is "unimportant" could you perhaps shed light on whether it's close to miles away from Southampton's valuation of the player please.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in getting in to any finances issues.}

12 May 2014 09:06:42
Hey eds, just a quick question.
Do you think Agger will be moving on in the summer? I think I recall one of you saying that Rodgers first choice CB's are Skrtel and Sakho, so it leaves Agger out of the starting XI. Hope he stays, love the lad and still think he's got it.
Cheers

Believable8 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - I suspect he will go.}

12 May 2014 10:01:39
Juventus the most likely destination for Agger Ed02?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would say Napoli.}

Is that providing that Rafa is still there or will there still be interest from them if Rafa leaves?

I suppose that leads to a different, non Liverpool related question, do you think Rafa will stay at Napoli next year?

Cheers all (Eds, I hope you enjoyed yesterday evening because it seems silly season is already beginning)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right now, it is probable that he will stay at Napoli.}

I really hope not! I just bought his shirt! And he played the game with newcastle perfectly (much more reliable and confident than Sakho)

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you possibly disregard the stat highlighted by carra that sacko and skirted played 17 games together and managed one clean sheet only.sorry sacko is still young so maybe some hope with good coaching but skytel plus Johnson an dagger are not the future

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2014 00:55:08
Hi Eds just a couple of quick questions: Do you have any knowledge of the availability of Thomas Muller and/or Mats Hummels? Would we be likely to go in for either if available?

Thanks

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Both could well be moving this summer and there remains interest - but not from Liverpool.}

12 May 2014 08:45:46
Morning Eds.

We heard anything on the England squad yet?.

What Liverpool players are in?.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - looks like Flanno is on the standby list and Johnson in the squad, along with Gerrard, Sterling and Sturridge. I am sure I am forgetting someone though!}

Ed1 any idea why Flanno was taken off at HT yesterday? He was playing better than Johnson.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hendo in or out?.

Agree0 Disagree1

Henderson will go

Agree2 Disagree0

Hendo, I would think.

Agree1 Disagree0

Anyone know when it will be announced? Cheers

Does anybody know what hotel Liverpool will be staying in, in Dublin for the friendly with Shamrock?

The can stay at me Nan's farmhouse- very relaxing especially after a hard season

Which teams are interested in varane? Hearing he could be available and for me he is already a world class defender at a very young age, would fit perfectly alongside sakho

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - I believe Chelsea are interested in him, but Ed002 would be the best person to ask about that.}

Chelsea are indeed interested in him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Damn if Chelsea end up with Varane as well as Zouma and Cahill they're sorted for this generation

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has a sustained interest in Varane but Real Madrid do not want to sell, particularly given that their proposed replacement, Mangala, will almost certainly not be available to them.}

11 May 2014 23:36:35
Eds any interest in Paulo Dybala? Argentine striker

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

11 May 2014 23:07:47
Ed001 do I recall you saying Rodgers was not a fan of mignolet?

Believable13 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - I am told he has not been pleased with his lack of command of his area and distribution.}

He as good as said it and I think we will looking at a replacement

Agree1 Disagree0

Does that mean he might consider a change?

Agree2 Disagree1

I was thinking, the best option for player and club would be a swap plus cash right? Like if he knows he I'll be 2nd choice, then we could try and strike a deal for begovic or similar, I think he was his first choice last season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Presumably they have tried to work on his confidence and coach his weaknesses. The problem is if he is prone to cock up now then he is never really going to be fully trusted, it would certainly take a long run of commanding games for the staff to trust him. You can see the panic rubs off on everyone else as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

You know who does boss a penalty area and can kick and throw the ball out accurately?

Pepe Reina.

Just saying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam I said the same last week. Mingolet has cost us far more goals than he has saved this season. I don't mean due to the odd dropped cross either. His unwillingness to leave his line and lack of instructions to his defence has left us wide open at times when a few shouts would have sorted us out. Finally his ball control/kicking is pretty poor for a top keeper.
Keep him as back up or Play him and Reina against themselves for top spot. I am sure Reinas desire would have returned after watching from Italy this year.
