Hi Ed002. Do you have any information/news about Loris Karius, the goalkeeper from Mainz, as a transfer target for LFC? The source is twitter (and Essexred below), but since his name was lumped along with Sane and Gundogan on the tweet, I thought I would ask you the question. Thanks.

Hi Eds,

I know the source is the Daily Express (! ), however they have linked us to Timo Horn.

Reason I am posting is that it does seem credible, given the continuing concerns around Migs, and he is apparently available for a buy out clause of €10/£6-£7m.

Have you heard anything about him being a target either in Jan or summer, and does his buy out clause apply to an English club?

Have been hearing about this guy for a couple of years now and wondering why he hasn't been snapped up already?

{Ed002's Note - (a) I am not aware of Liverpool looking at or talking to Cologne about Timo Horn. I will however say the club has looked at one goalkeeper as I have explained so it is not out of the question. (b) There will not be a "buy out" clause at all. There may be a release clause, I don't know - but it is of no relevance to Liverpool. (c) I am not sure what you mean about being "snapped up already". There was previously a thought that Horn was of interest to Rodgers, so perhaps that is simply being recycled. The player signed a new contract earlier this year and has said he would like to stay with Cologne for his entire career. Volker Struth has said nothing about any interest from Liverpool.}

Thanks Ed002. The snapped up comment was on the basis that he seems to be generally highly regarded so. wondering why he hadn't been picked up by a larger club that Cologne to date. As you say, maybe he's happy staying where he is.

Also is Milner set to be fit? I no most feel he needs to be dropped but just wondered how bad his injury is.

{Ed001's Note - I don't actually know, sorry. I haven't bothered checking on him, last I heard it was a hamstring, but I never thought to ask how bad it was. If it was a strain he will be ready for the next game, a tear will be a month or so more at least.}

The Liverpool site say Milner's targeting a return vs. City after the break. Could be an interesting line up if we also get Hendo and Sturridge back in time, only major weakness will be at CB.

Ed I thought Rossiter was out for the rest of the season with ACL, is he back that soon?

With the recent links to Niklas Sule (probably just lazy journalism) but I've read a bit about him today and, on paper, he seems a really top prospect.

Do you know if Liverpool have genuine interest in him or have heard he sees his future elsewhere?
