some sites are reporting that Lavezzi could be an option as he has rejected a new contract at PSG. Do you know if there is any truth to this?

Thanks

Eds, Are Liverpool or any other clubs interested in Giuseppe Rossi?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - Liverpool no. You would have to try the Euro Soccer page for any other team as I don't know.}

Could this be the 'big name' player to replace the 'big name player' that Tim Vickery (BBC South American Fottball Journo) was speaking about being lined up on Radio 5 last week?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have provided an update on various PSG related players on the European page. This includes confirmation that Lavezzi will be sold but they have no offers. Liverpool and AC Milan are known to be interested and have been given a price. Juventus, Arsenal and Fiorentina are seen as other candidate destinations. Mazzoni said yesterday that it would be easy for Lavezzi to make the move to Liverpool but Italy is his "celestial" home - it seems to have lost a little in translation.}

Any truth in the rumour that Ajax have offered Eto'o substantially more than we have? Please say it's true!

Agree1 Disagree0

Kelly to Palace for £1-1.5m.

Very cheap.

Believable74 Unbelievable22

Cheap to me is Cork to Palace for £3M, very underrated player. They're doing some decent bargain hunting seems like.

Agree5 Disagree0

Think its more about giving him the move he wants

Agree3 Disagree0

I think when fir he is an amazing player - however 62 games in 5 years is not enough; especially for a player capable of playing for England - all the best Martin.

Agree2 Disagree1

It's a shame. After last season I think we all knew he wouldn't make it with us. It will be good though, hopefully, to see him play week in week out and I wish him all the best.

Reports in Italy, backed up by Sky Italia journalist Tancredi Palmeri, say Liverpool approached Sampdoria last night over a deal.

Romero had been told he can leave the club. Sampdoria would likely prefer to sell the £2 million rated goalie, but could loan him again if Liverpool would prefer.

Believable64 Unbelievable14

I just read an article saying sampdoria may be interested in coates going the other way as part of the deal would make sense to send coates the other way may not be true but thought i'd mention it

Agree3 Disagree1

Giblet buddy could be true but Romero is valued at £2M and i'd imagine we would value Coates a little bit higher but who knows hey.

Agree1 Disagree0

BigD, I'd say they'd be delighted to get £2m for Coates at this stage. A decent pre-season won't be enough to bring him into Rodgers plans.

Agree0 Disagree2

Coates is a good player and personally I would loan him to a epl team for the season and than make an assessment at the end of the season as to weather or not we use him or sell him as £2M seems low for a player that's 24 or so and a Uruguayan International.

Agree3 Disagree1

He's decent ya he's got potential but he'll never suit us.

Agree0 Disagree2

Sean, I agree I think they'd sell him for £1m right now. At least it's some kind of return. There seems to be such a lack of interest in the player, we could end up receiving zero for him.

When does his contract run until?

What makes you think any PL team would want him on loan?

Agree2 Disagree1

He's still got 2 years so I'd say rather than pay his wages or contribute to his wages whilst he was on loan I'd say that £1-2m would be accepted alright. He's definitely worth it and he is decent but just not suited to us.

Question for Ed 1

I know marca ha said we are in for konoplyanka but do you see us making a move for him? I'd like to see it personally as I think he's a very talented guy and I heard from a trusted friend who has met him a few times that he is also very keen on coming here.

Believable62 Unbelievable30

{Ed001's Note - I think we will when everything else is wrapped up, yes.}

I don't think we will sign him. Just my thoughts.

I think He would be an excellent adition to our squad. He is a matured footballer and has been from quiet some time.A direct player and would beat man with sheer pace. This would allow us to send Ilbe on loan.

Agree4 Disagree0

Would really make year

Agree4 Disagree0

Yep striker, keeper & Kono would make this an awesome window. Hope Ibe gets a Prem loan.

Agree5 Disagree0

If konoplyanka and striker were to sign, then all of a sudden we have real quality in dept. an embarresment of attacking riches as well as real quality in defence.
I know there will be some players leaving, but this, in my opinion, has already been an amazing, clever, shrewd transfer window with premier experience, youthful energy and potential.
We will not do another Tottenham, just because of the prem experienced players that have signed which will give time for the newbies to settle.
No one can say that FSG haven't put there money where their mouth is. Especially when you also include the stadium expansion as well. If memory serves, when arsenal built there stadium, they didn't invest like we are doing.
The futures bright, the futures Liverpool.

Ed, you say once everything else is wrapped up. What transfers do you seem being completed/attempted before that point?
Not asking for targets or rumours just your opinion on what wrapped up looks like.

Thanks in advance

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Moreno for one - which is all but done now.}

14 Aug 2014 10:05:26
Fully agreed, if we could get Bony and Kono we would have had a really good window.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think bony is the next target

A fee for Bony has been agreed tonight! 15m including add ons! My source reckons that Spurs submitted a bid yesterday and this has been accepted but his preference is moving to Anfield. We are still interested in Reus but this depends on the player and if Borini seals his move to Sunderland and if Assaidi moves to Stoke or West Brom.

It is plausible.

But then, you mentioned your "source" and Reus.

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree ruined with Reus! Otherwise a good rumour

I can't see Sturridge, Bony and Origi all being happy competing for 1 striker spot next season (if Bony comes). Has anyone else thought this?

Agree0 Disagree0

I must've missed BR's press conference when he confirmed he would only ever use 1 striker for every game.?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you see Bony and Origi playing on the wing?

Agree0 Disagree0

Done deal eh? Your "source" is in your own head pal.
