I've posted 2 rumours on here. I posted the Shrek (at it again) story on the Main Rumours page during the world cup (which the Mancs said i didn't).
I posted on Jan 4th on the Man'ure site that i heard that the Qatari Royal Family were going to be their new owners. They said they knew this for a while (which i believe) but still i was told the same thing.
Now the same person that told me these stories has told me that we are very interested in Shay Given, if Pepe goes (hasn't made up his mind).

I don't post rumours often but have heard from a usually reliable source (he's not involved in football but is involved in betting) that Liverpool will target Lukaku as top priority in the summer.

ED, I know we were interested in Elmander at one point in time, but I really hope we don't sign him. I watch Bolton play quite a bit (friend is a Bolton fan) and he is AWFUL! He mistimes shots (often completely missing them) and has no pace. He is not a player we should be looking at. ED are we scouting him? Please tell me we are not interested!

Hi ed, hearing alot here in ireland about liverpool being interested in signing shane long, just wondering if there is anything in it. {Ed005's Note - I doubt it, as the player isn't even PL standard let alone Liverpool standard. The papers in the Republic of Ireland tend to link every Irish player with Liverpool.}

Not convinced re marveaux, not a full international, even when France suspended the whole 1st n very injury prone.
Marin & turan would be quality signings, been very impressed with Marin.
Can't see benzima coming to anfield & Connor wickham isn't setting championship alight, I would like to see another striker with a bit of guile/ pace, any ideas ed?
Would like to see kk give Stirling and suso a chance, at least from bench starting thurs.

Ed, been told of a rumour that man city players got micah richards a spurs training kit! the gossip/ rumour came from a very close aid of joe harts who app gets on very well with a few of the spurs players and it was he who arranged for the kit to be sent up! looks like we could has missed the boat on richards? {Ed001's Note - there is a surprise, you type like the regular Spurs fan and your IP places you in London!}

I'm hearing alot of whispers at the moment that Taiwo will be getting a precontract deal arranged very soon (maybe this week when Marseille play man u?)
Apparently Kenny and Comolli see him as a good solid left back with the ability to get the the job done at both ends of the pitch and the owners are apparently keen as mustard because he'd arrive on a free.
I've heard odds and ends about different players we're looking at but i think people need to hold back with there wet dreams of the owners going out and signing 8 world class players or potentially world class players to replace people like Jovanovic etc.
Kenny and Comolli understand the need and more importantly want to improve the balance in the squad. The owners are prepared to invest in good youth players to save on transfers in the future but that doesn't mean that there going out to buy every 20-24yr old with an up and coming reputation because that's not realisitic.
They don't want to be over signing in one position (like we have now where we've plenty of defensive midfielders and players who play in between the midfield and strikers)
We need width and pace and they know it

Heard that liverpool were interested in Jeremy Menez of Roma, apparently Comolli likes him and would be into the last year of his contract in the summer!do you know of any interest in him Ed?great site by the way. . {Ed001's Note - we were supposed to have had Roma watched before the January window, haven't heard anything since. I don't know if they were watching Menez, took notice of him while they were there or if they were not looking at him at all though.}

Hi ed,
Heard that the Merveaux guy has said he is close to a move to Anfield. Looking @ his stats & age i think he could be a good Squad player for us. but i fear that he may be another Joe Cole or Degen.
Even though previuos season he was very good he has only played a few macthes this season bcaz he got injured.he has underogne a surgery which has kept him away form playing again this season.
I don't think he will be ready to play for us as soon as the next season starts, nd am sure he will be out of form nd will need time to get the touch back & adjust.
Do you think that liverpool fans have to wait till september or October to see Marveux playing for LFC like Carrol, if he joins us?

It's almost certain that Liverpool will bring in a defensive midfielder when Poulsen leaves in the summer (although I don't think we need to replace him once he goes) and because of Commoli's time in France watching them it will be either Yann M'Villa or Moussa Sissoko. They are both young an I have heard good things about both of them but I don't watch much French football so I don't know which player is better.
ED, what player do you think would be better for us? {Ed002's Note - M'Vila is a defensive midfielder but Sissoko is not - so both could be bought in.}

Blackburn's defender, Phil Jones, has been interesting the scouts from Liverpool for a while now and is soon to make his way back to their first team after longterm injury. Liverpool will be keeping a very close eye on his situation. Whether this culminates in a firm bid in the summer remains to be seen, but firm interest is certainly there.
