Mkhitaryan has signed with Italian agent Mino Raiola as the summer transfer window edges ever closer, with the 24-year-old keen to secure a transfer out of Ukraine.

Raiola has contacts at many of Europe's biggest clubs including Manchester United and Juventus.

But it is Raiola's close relationship with Liverpool that is of interest to Mkhitaryan - and the Armenian is keen to secure a switch to Anfield after making them his number one priority. - METRO

Do the ends think he is more likely than Eriksen?, and if so how much will shaktar want for him? {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar's Mkhitaryan is of interest to Lazio and Juventus, but the player is looking for a move to Spain with Barcelona or somewhere in England, preferably London, so he can get the very high wages he says he is due. Seems a bit of a flake to be honest. Shakhtar are looking for about €25M which seems high to me.}

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Don't want players here just for the money, need to fight for the right to play for the famous red shirt!

Agree0 Disagree0

With Shakhtar we should keep in mind their dealings with Chelsea and Willian. They made it clear they wanted a fairly significant amount above his true value in order to sell him, so it would be safe to assume the same with in this case - something LFC would be reluctant to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be surprised to see Juve have a crack at this.
They've followed Suarez and a few other strikers.
Personally I think he's an option for them. But, Juve is a big step these days and I doubt they'd really meet his wage demands, given the tough time he'd have adjusting to Italian defensive systems.

Either way. Not coming to Liverpool.

Are Liverpool trying to sign Douglas from FC Twente on a free eds? {Ed002's Note - Reading, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Rubin Kazan and Ajax have all shown interest in Twente's Douglas in the recent past but Inter would like to take him for defensive cover whilst Spurs are considering if he would be suitable as a replacement for Gallas as an alternative to Alderweireld. Interest of Liverpool would be of no surprise.}

Believable14 Unbelievable1

I'd rather look at Rosales from Twente.

Agree0 Disagree0

No surprise to see Spurs sniffing around someone Liverpool are looking at. Do we share the same scouting team as them or something?

In short my team decided to so a charity bike ride. It's called pedal for Parkinson's. unfortunately I am the only person to sign up, as when they saw it was 60 miles they are shirked the challenge! So I will be completing 60 mile bike ride on my own! I haven't been on a bike since I was 17! It's a huge challenge and means a lot to me. I was wondering if Parkinson's disease has affected any of the posters or their families, and if they would like to sponsor me. It's all for a great cause in Parkinson's uk. http://m.virginmoneygiving.com/mt/uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserPage.action?userUrl=diversefc&faId=330148&isTeam=true

Seems as if Papadopoulos may be on his way in. Alongside Digne, I think they will be 2 great signings for now and the future respectively.

Papadopoulos is cack got no pace what so ever and Liverpool would have to pay way over the odds for him, he ain't coming anyway

Hi Eds, love the site

With all of the defenders that are being mentioned (Alderwield, Digne) one that I would love to see is Micah Richards, provided he can stay fit, he is young, powerful on the attack and English, what is the possibility of LFC moving for him this summer?

Thanks {Ed001's Note - the question is whether he would leave, which is unlikely, unless he is pushed out of the door.}

Believable11 Unbelievable19

Tidy little player, but he's not what we need.
Allen, Hendo, Gerrard, all in similar-ish vain.
A leggy, box to box defensive animal is what we could do with, someone in the mould of Wanyama.

Hey Ed002 if your there? Can u help answer this question like you always do :-) A certain sports channel have reported that Josip Ilicic will be moving on and I found that on a LFC site. So what's going on are we looking at EVERY defender there is or is it a hopeful fan running the site piecing things together. Thanks for your time. Take care. Bye {Ed002's Note - Chelsea has maintained a passing interest in Ilicic, as have Napoli and Inter. Right now Roma and Sampdoria in Serie A have declared an interest, as has Zenit St Petersburg.}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Josip Ilicic isn't a defender. Also LFC run transfer RUMOURS from other media outlets and place a disclaimer to show that the stories do not represent the views of the club. Its called media watch lol

Hi Ed's,

Are you aware of any interest in Lyon Captain Maxime Gonalons? I know Arsenal have been linked recently, but I think he would be excellent in our midfield.

Red Lee {Ed002's Note - On a number of occasions Frederic Guerra has said that Gonalons would only leave Lyon for Real or Napoli. He has taken over as captain but Arsenal and Monaco are pressing for a deal.}

Eds is there any chance Spurs would sell Caulker to us and for what sort of fee? Spurs have Dawson, Vertonghen and Kaboul in that area and are looking for another centre half to replace Gallas (believed to be Botia now as Alderweireld is now going to Roma I think?). Rodgers knows the quality of the player from having him at Swansea and he was very impressive. If a bid of 10 million was made would Spurs be tempted?

I also think Douglas on a free would be a steal. He has pace and strength which are essential for a defender in the PL and could he play defensive mid?

If we can't get Caulker I think Dejan Lovren has to be the number one central defender target. Aymen Abdennour looks a decent player and could also play left back and would be relatively cheap. Eds is it true Barcelona want Abdennour?

Sorry for all the questions.
The Gooch {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely they would sell Caulker, Dawson and Gallas are both coming to the end of their Spurs' careers, Caulker is seen as just beginning his. I haven't seen enough of Douglas to judge him sorry. I believe there is interest in Abdennour from Barca, but they are budget limited, unless they increase their obscene debt even further, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility.}

Believable2 Unbelievable15

Caulker is an excellent player I agree, but I can't see Spurs letting him go unfortunately.

Dries Mertens has never been anywhere near good enough, nor is good enough, nor ever will be good enough. Ain't happenin mate sorry. Liverpool are looking to secure a deal for Son Heung-Min.

He is 20 years old and currently plays for Hamburg. He is excellent with both feet and can play as a striker, centre forward, left winger or right winger.

Rodgers has big plans for Sturridge as a lone striker next season with Coutinho, Suarez and Son as the attacking midfield trio.

He is expected to replace Stewart Downing who will certainly be leaving this summer.

daniellambretta {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs have been looking at Hamburg's Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion leading up to the end of last year and Spurs had a bid turned down in January. Since the New Year some interest has been shown by Dortmund, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow and Chelsea, who would ideally look to a deal that sees a player included as part of an offer. Hamburg would like to keep him but I expect him to move in the summer, but a move to Chelsea or Manchester United could see him sat on the bench and that may not be what he wants. Dortmund or Spurs might be the best compromise for him but a recent enquiry from Dortmund has seen a much higher asking price than expected put on the player - so they are looking to negotiate.}

Believable7 Unbelievable5

I really hope we loan Coates out instead of selling him as he was rated as one of the best young South American's, we should loan him to a Premiership team that will play him week in week out to see weather or not he can handle it, if he can then great if not then we sell him.

Ed, as a Chelsea fan, what's you opinion on the decision to sell Sturridge and replace him with Ba? Everybody in the league thought it looked like good business with Sturridge only scoring 1 and Ba being 3rd top scorer at the time. Was at a move you agreed with at the time, and any regrets in hindsight?

He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration. Such a bid is being pondered by Chelsea and by Fiorentina, and I suspect Manchester City will look again as an alternative to Jovetic. I don't see the interest from Inter resulting in a move.}

I have friend who is a season Ticket holder at Real Sociedad and he said that at tonight's game between Real Sociedad and Granada there were rumours that scouts from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham were there.

Now the players from Granada are pants so I suspect they weren't there to see them.

Now I have seen Real Sociedad this season and they have been fantastic, but realistically there are only 3 maybe 4 players worth buying Inigo Martinez, Carlos Vela, Abtoine Greizmann and may De La Bella (pronounced Beya).

Inigo Martinez is being monitored by both Real Madrid and Barcelona and has a buy out clause of 25 million. He is a good central defender but maybe not sufficiently big and physical enough to play in the premiership. He also appears to be quite slow.

Greizmann is being tracked by Arsenal, Athletic Bilbao and few others. He is a young dynamic midfielder that started on the wing. Would do well as a replacement for Gerrard. He has the drive but his shooting needs to improve.

De la Bella is a left back that is good defender and good attacker. However, he does not appear to be quick enough to play in the premiership.

Vela. If Arsenal do not resign him for the agreed fee of around 4 m euros then they are seriously stupid. The guy is far better than when he left. He is fast explosive and a good finisher. He also has much more discipline than he used to have. He plays in every position in the Sociedad front line right or left wing, behind the front man and also as loan front man. I think he would suit Liverpool's way of playing. He is different to what we have at the moment. A front four of Sturridge, vela, Suarez and Coutinho would certainly produce a lot of chances. Understand Roma are also trying to sign him.

It will be interesting to see if we try to sign any of them.

Orrin

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Missing one thing with Vela - he doesn't want to go back to Arsenal. Why would you sign someone who doesn't want to play for you?

Agree0 Disagree0

There are 5 players worth mentioning from Sociedad. You've said Martinez, Vela and Greizmann, but the two Liverpool are more likely to being watching would be Illarramendi and the keeper Bravo.
Illarramendi is the spanish midfielder that slipped away from Barca and Madrid and would be excellent as a DM for us. Also Bravo is an experienced south american keeper who is very underrated. Martinez is targeted by the top clubs including Bayern so that would be near impossible. Vela doesn't have enough of a brain I feel for LFC, however Greizmann is good option to look at. I don't think he's top 4 quality though, N'Zogbia level for me.
Illarramendi would be great signing, he could reach Alonso levels. If they get champions league qualification I doubt he'd be at all interested, but I hope we're scouting him.
RC

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal can buy back Vela for a price much cheaper than his market value. He is turning into a world class player. If he continued not to want to play they can sell him for a huge profit.

As for Illramendi, he has potential yes, but he was not playing last night. He has been out injured for a couple of weeks and it has been known that he potentially may not play again this season. Therefore if they were there they were looking at somebody else.

Bravo is not a very good goalkeeper, shot stopping yes (not anywhere near in the league of De Gea), good at crosses no, distribution poor.
