{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Edinson Cavani. In my opinion, this will be the transfer saga of the summer and the talk of all media outlets. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

eds why is everyone talking about a alonso return also is there any intrest? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea why people are talking about it sorry.}

Wishful. Thinking.

Because he had an interview a while back and he said he will return to liverpool at some point in his career

15 Apr 2012 17:58:25
Eds we must be watching Gylfi Sigurdsson he is a class act, Is there any intrest would be cheap as well at around 8million?

Dano {Ed001's Note - hard to say, we have been watching Swansea all season, who can be certain which player we are actually keen on? Certainly it would make sense that we would be watching anyone who can play on the right wing.}

Nathan dyer maybe? is there interest in him or sinclair ed? {Ed001's Note - that's who I assumed it would be. Obviously that is only conjecture due to us watching a couple of games Dyer played that Sigurdsson didn't.}

He isn't he average player in a team that likes to pass it.

What about the cm allen?

Sigurdsson was in one of the Icelandic papers on Friday, the headline was that it is his dream to play for man united. Not saying that means he won´t play for us, or that it means anything at all, but just wanted to share!

Nathan dyer orrr Brendan Rodgers lol

is there any chance Torres is coming back, also is Patrick Herrmann available and do we have any interest in him or Hernanes

Torres no thanks. herrmann yes please

Torres is never coming back to liverpool.

Oh god another not another fantasizer of Torres.

Let's hope not Torres is a tnuc

He wasnt even wearing a black armband.

Why do you want him back? He plays sh*t now.

Well at least we all agree on one thing

Torres didnt wear a memorial arm band today when he nose what it means and nose the history even rooney respected it pfffft the mans a person {Ed001's Note - to be fair he came on as a sub, they usually get given an armband to wear just before they come on, it could have just been forgotten.}

As much as i dislike him atm, i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt re armband as i don't recall seeing one on Bosingwa either.

eds, just heard reports that we are interested in signing royston drenthe on a free transfer as he is out of contract in the summer, just wondering if you know anything about this?
YNWA {Ed001's Note - nothing.}

ESPN reported this in relation to Drenthe being suspended by Everton for the semi-final.

Why is it they can't get this right when Macca works there?

Through the Storm {Ed001's Note - odd when you consider the suspension was for turning up late to training and still half cut.}

Sounds exactly the sort of 'reliable pro' we need. Not.

Hi dont no if this is new or old news just found it online.

tmooney2005

Liverpool target Hector Herrera has admitted he met an Anfield scout and that he is now ready to move to a bigger club.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who plays for Mexican side Pachuca, is rumored to be wanted by the Reds and that interest now appears to be confirmed.

Herrera told reporters: "I was only introduced to him, he didn't tell me anything specific."

Andres Fassi, Pachuca's executive director, announced that the Merseyside club have priority in signing the midfielder but insisted that no offer is yet to be made.

He also confirmed that a Liverpool scout had been keeping tabs on Herrera.

"We have a sort of deal between the two clubs, in that Liverpool would be the first in line should the player emigrate to Europe," Fassi revealed.

"There's no formal offer yet, only interest, no verbal agreement or precontract.

"Liverpool's people came to Mexico on a general scouting trip, there's a declared interest in Herrera.

"Their scout was here for four practice sessions and now they want to watch him in the Olympic Games."

Herrera, meanwhile, conceded that he is likely to move on from his current club Pachuca in the hope to fulfill his ambition of playing in Europe but the midfielder is waiting to see if Fassi can negotiate a deal with Liverpool.

"I don't have a particular club I'd like to go to, but I would love to play for a big club, I don't want to go to a smaller club," Herrera added.

"I found out about the [Liverpool interest], I haven't been told anything concrete yet and I'll have to wait to see what [Fassi] says about it. "

"I think it's a great opportunity, it's one of my dreams to play in Europe."

The Mexico under-23 star is confident he can cope with the demands of European football too.

He said: "I feel capable enough to migrate to European football, the fact that they're following me gives me extra motivation to say that I can aspire to important things."

Eds u think there's a chance of xabi alonso coming back this summer? I remember you said last year that he would be more likely to return next summer if at all? {Ed001's Note - I really don't know, it was never going to happen last summer or this January, but this summer, well it is too early to know for sure.}

Ed0001 please don't give people false hope... Because as soon as you say its not impossible people will say Alonso agreed to come back. {Ed001's Note - they were already doing so, no point saying anything really.}

Ed if xabi were to come back, would we get some kind of discount?

Heard it was buy one get one free

Xabi Alonso is history.....we're not even talking about an exceptional footballer.
He was very good for us but not brilliant.
ANFIELDPETE

Perhaps nuri sahin the most under valued player at Madrid

Anfield Pete he is the best player in his position in the world

Sahin is low value because he is terrible

15 Apr 2012 15:45:29
Eds,
I hope that Liverpool won't go for Drenthe and hope it's just a silly rumour. Why would they want to buy him? Only because he had his spell at Real? I don't see him to be that good to really bring in any new quality to Liverpool. Cheers. {Ed001's Note - I have no idea of any interest in him from us.}

15 Apr 2012 16:02:59
Eds,

Heard off a source (head distributor for Adidas in Ireland) that we are lookin at David Villa...I know he's out injured at the minute and doesnt fit the tranfer policy but just thought I'd put it out there!
CMD YNWA

Why would Adidas know when they cease to be our sponsor next month? Absolute nonsense

I imagine you mean the head distributor of Warrior Sports / New Balance - think before you post such rubbish

Adidas sponsor David Villa.
Not saying this rumour has any truth in it though.

Maybe because David Villa is sponcered by Addidas..

Im sure its because Villa is sponsored by adidas and nothing to do with our shirt supplier.people need to yhink before they type

Villa's a great player but hes 30 years old and would probally cost a tonne

Blatantly made up nonsense! Go back to Champ man! Adidas dont have a "head of distribution for Ireland", they have a "head of warehousing and distribution" and the role covers the whole of the UK, his name (incase you want to check) is Ross Luongo, how do I know? cause I work for Adidas you plank!

15 Apr 2012 15:50:43
Just wondering eds if you know the pricetag on Marco reus off m`gladbach ? watching him now and seen a bit of him this season great player i know we won't get him considering they will have cl football .. is there many clubs looking at him do u know .. ? {Ed001's Note - he has signed for Dortmund already.}

15 Apr 2012 15:12:37
I hear we are stepping up our interest in Blackpools Matt Phillips and Heerenveen hitman Bas Dost.
Not the big names some crave, but could be two shrewd purchases.

The Mole

Could Ed001 confirm if Liverpool have an interest in Bas Dost please? {Ed001's Note - I don't know, he is being tracked by a number of English clubs is the only info I have on him.}

At last....somebody has posted a realistic transfer target rumour. I'm sick of hearing rubbish like soldado, rues, martinez, llorente etc...

These rumours wouldnt surprise me. Everyone is talking about big name signings but frankly that didnt work out so well in the summer. We just need to make good signings. Look at Demba Ba (free-transfer), Jelavic (£5-7m), Cabaye (£4m). Players who seem to be doing very well and clearly their price tags have nothing to do with how well they are playing. Big name, big money purchases are not necessarily what we need.

15 Apr 2012 15:07:20
Eds do u knw if we get Txiki Begiristain it stronger ours chances of getting munuian and soldaldo {Ed001's Note - I have no idea what effect that would have on those players, sorry.}

15 Apr 2012 15:04:28
Furthermore to the drenthe rumor he refused to play yesterday because we told him if he played and he influenced the game we would end our interest moyes was informed of the agreement by Madrid who told him of the agreement as we still had to ask their permission to speak to the player {Ed001's Note - yes, I am sure Moyes wouldn't just cancel the loan if that was the case!}

I heard that Drenthe was told that if he played and then committed mass murder in Romania, then we wouldn't sign him. He promised not to but we didn't want to take the chance.

(Please print this as it's just as believeable as this wally's story.)

I rate Drenthe and was a bit gutted when he turned up in a Blue shirt.

Downing played and scored against us in the last game of the League last season, we still bought him.

Just thought I'd continue someone elses silly story from earlier in the day. Was sarcastic as I think most people realised

Thats absolute rubbish if ever i heard it on this site. The club could be expelled from the competition if they were found to be guilty of doing that. It would also seriously tarnish the club's reputation being involved in seriously dirty tactics...

Thats the stupidest thing ive ever read here

15 Apr 2012 13:04:16
eds any idea when commoli and all the others replacements will be coming in and who they will be? {Ed001's Note - no, sorry.}

When the owners find the right replacements....

Commoli has just gone out. Why would he be coming back in?

15 Apr 2012 14:42:41
Ed Do united have an interest in Munian if so do you think this would make him harder to sign and could you make an estimate on his wages {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry.}

If munian wants to come to the premier league and man u are interested then its pretty likely he wont be coming to anfield

Why not come to the most successful english club ever.

15 Apr 2012 14:17:42
Coming to LFC in the summer:
Alonso
Moses
Jarvis
+ one big name striker

Going:
Kuyt
Spearing
Maxi

Kuyt yes, maxi prob, spearing no chance, is being blooded for a future at lfc

Spearing ain't goin nowhere, he has been brilliant every time when called on....

Why don't you add Sooty, Sweep, Bugs Bunny and Ivan the Terrible to that list. Just to make it a bit more believeable.

Good squad player thats what u need

U got to get over alonso he ain't coming back

Steady on there with the spearing comments....he's an average player at best..

completely wrong!

Please say ur joking about jarvis. Downing is rated alot higher so y would we sign a lesser player when we're trying to improve the team..

15 Apr 2012 14:00:33
Hi eds, why exactly do we think Commoli was sacked? Cheers..

Hero. {Ed001's Note - because he failed.}

There's nothing like a precise answer, is there

Haha .

I wish you could like the ed's replies this made me laugh!

cheers
Daryll

Failed on buying players kenny wants, its not really his fault kenny wanted rubbish players now is it? Eds surely this means kenny is gone end of summer to? RedTurk {Ed001's Note - I wish it meant you would stop whining! But that is far too much to ask.}

Look up the word negative in the dictionary. there is a photo of Red Turk.

They were hardly gonna sack "king kenny" now where they....

Just out of interest ed. On what notion had he failed? His primary job was to help scout players and sign them wasnt it? I know he had some other roles as well such as acting as a liason between owner and dalglish. On his primary job though (player scouting/transfers) if he has failed and been sacked then surely the players themselves must be going as they must be judged to be failures also?

Nevada {Ed001's Note - he had a lot more input than merely scouting players. It would be well worth reading the Tomkins Times articles about it.}

Royston Drenthe is set to cause a stir in Liverpool when he crosses the city to join the Reds (Daily Mail).

Currently on loan from Real Madrid to Everton, winger Drenthe is out of contract in Spain at the end of the season and while the Toffees cannot afford to match his £80,000-a-week wages, Liverpool are able and willing.

The guys is nothing but trouble - Stay away, certainly at £80k per week!

No nutters from Goodison thanks !
He's all yours Blue boys !

I really don't want this guy playing for us. Trouble with a capital t.

I'd be happy to see him playing for us, he's very good, sure he's had trouble, but he's buckled down well at Everton and assisted 8 goals and scored 4 himself in all competitions. He's only started 14 games and used 13 times as a sub, injured for 6 weeks with an ankle problem.

He was booed heavily at Real Madrid like Eboue was at Arsenal, it affected him and he didn't want to play for a while via anxiety, he then came back and played 18 times but lost his place to Marcelo.

He went to Herclues on loan and they didn't pay his wages, so he protested and came back to the club later than scheduled.

Then he went to Everton on loan and has been one of their stand out players this season.

He's 25 years old, people forget how young he was at Real Madrid. He's just entering his prime, not like previous turkey's who were at the end of their career's : Voronin, Jovanovic or Cole for example.

The lad has pace and good ball control, he drives play forward and he's very strong physically, he seems to be a different player from two seasons ago.

Ollieston

Why would we want him. He cant get a start for the blue s****. Dont rate myself. RL

He is better than most wingers linked with us, and every winger we have which is 1 in downing,
he is better than:
jarvis
dyer
sinclarr
(OUR) downing
can play left/right wing, left WB, left mid and/ or forward in a 433, is still young and for the price (maybe free) would be worth it at 80k pw. {Ed003's Note - M Phillips?}

15 Apr 2012 12:46:55
Hello ed, ive heard of we are interested in a player called Rasmus Elm from FC Twente for the summer, know any truth behind this? {Ed001's Note - the only English team I know of that is defo looking at him is Villa.}

He plays for AZ Alkmaar, not Twente.

MPez

Oh yer my mistake got mixed up with the teams

With our injury problems he'd be sure to get struck down with Dutch Elm disease. {Ed003's Note - lmao,really!}

15 Apr 2012 12:02:02
Hi Ed's,

I am just passing on information from a lad who works with Everton in the Sports Science department and on their miserable journey home, he text me to say that Royston Drenthe may have signed a Pre-Contract deal with Liverpool.

One would assume, it is because Madrid don't want him back, he is settled in the city etc, could you or Macca confirm this?

LFC_7 {Ed001's Note - only thing I know is that he was never going back to Madrid, but I doubt he would be of any interest to us, considering the amount of partying he has done in his time with Everton.}

Tell your mate to keep his stupid opinions to himself. no chance of that clown coming to Anfield even to do a Museum trip !!!!

How do you know he has been partying ? same old rubbish {Ed001's Note - how is it the same old rubbish? You have no idea what I know or who I know that would be at the same parties. Give it a rest, he was dropped because he was out on the lash and didn't get up for training. Give your fingers a rest lad.}

It baseball game was the 100th anniversary of fenway park, a huge event over there.

dodge

15 Apr 2012 11:28:41
Hey Eds do you know if it is a big name striker in another league that we are looking for?

Thanks {Ed001's Note - you mean like Vennegoor of Hesselink? Because we are not buying a player based on their name or how well known they are. We are looking for the best players for our system we can find.}

Oh you mean like downing, adam, henderson, carroll good times ahead!

Do we even have a system?

15 Apr 2012 11:34:13
Hi there,

Just a quick inquiry. Do you know if Royston Drenthe might be on his way to us in the summer.

Hopefully. I think he is a real good player. And on a free transfer as well id would be a great buy

On word - Trouble - avoid!

This boy is quality with a capital Q. make it happen lfc...please. He got great pace and skill in him. plus it ties up nicely with FSG transfer policy....
RIP 96....YNWA

15 Apr 2012 11:23:51
hey eds, drenthe has been rumoured to liverpool, do you think there is any truth in this and would he be a possible target in the summer? hes got most things we need pace, skill (can beat defenders), finish, free kick etc. heard anything? cheers. {Ed001's Note - not a thing sorry, I really can't see that happening.}

15 Apr 2012 10:35:39
Ed001, I read a comment you made about the recent sackings at the club stating that John Achterberg had been sacked. He was at the game yesterday coaching Brad Jones and Peter Gulacsi and was on the bench throughout the game. Just wondering, of he has been 'sacked', will he be leaving at the end of the season along with Brukner?

Also, I have heard a rumour that FSG are looking for potential buyers for the club. Not sure if this is true, I highly doubt it myself. Just wondering also if you knew why they came to Liverpool this week but went back to Boston instead of staying for the match? cheers Ed001, I appreciate you're input more than any other.

Finally I would just like to take the time to say that even after all these years, the 96 Angels who went to that game will never, EVER be forgotten and we WILL get justice for you all. May you all rest in peace and You'll Never Walk Alone. JFT96

Thanks,
Jonny {Ed001's Note - from what I can gather all bar Comolli will be leaving at the end of the season. They were informed they were to leave, so I expect that to happen barring some kind of huge turnaround. The lawyer was there too, sat next to Rushie I think it was, doesn't mean she is staying!
I have heard nothing about FSG selling up, they are putting plans in place for the future so it seems extremely unlikely.}

Nice one mate, thanks for clearing that up Ed001. Do you know why though that Henry and Werner went back to the States? I just thought they would stay for what was a huge game, possibly the biggest this season. I don't follow baseball but is it something to do with the Red Sox first home game or something?

Thanks,
Jonny. {Ed001's Note - I have no idea why they didn't stay. I would guess a lot was to do with the media though. If they were there all we would have heard is that they were watching and it would have cranked up the pressure on the team.}

Sorry ed who's being sacked? {Ed001's Note - Achterberg, Wignall and Brukner are all leaving along with Comolli.}

I think Bostons game was a 100 year anniversary or something and the American press would've slaughtered them had they not been there

They would have been slaughtered by both medias. they still are. not as bad as i expected tho. did they not get booed off at the last home game at the end of last season aswell?

The opening game of the Baseball season is a massive day in the MLB. Of course so is an FA cup semi final, so probably doesn't really help ;-)

It's Fenway Park's century this week and as someone else mentioned, the first home game of the MLB season.

We can let them off with that one, don't you think?

15 Apr 2012 09:40:33
i bumped into the tranmere player, danny holmes last night, in a club in birkenhead. i asked him if the rumors are true about him turning down Liverpool to go to rangers, he said there not. i also asked him if Liverpool are interested he said they are but wouldn't say whether or not he is coming, he just said he will have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season.

biggest hint yet that Kenny Dalglish will leave in summer

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9204676/Kenny-Dalglish-it-could-be-me-next-to-go-at-Liverpool-after-Damien-Comolli-sacking.html

yoyoman

Not at all

Its all rubbish, you r mistaken

I feel this is the best sign of Kenny NOT going, if you think you're gonna get sacked you don't announce it

There's nothing wrong with Kenny's tactics, yesterday's semi was an example of Liverpool's whole season, stupidity in defence, and not converting chance after chance after chance afterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr chance.

We've hit the woodwork so many times, its not funny, where had we not hit the woodwork we're at the fliipin top, looking forward to a treble.

We're unlucky our midfield is injured letting other teams have a lot of the ball, but feel with depth in squad we should be ok.
The premiership is a tough cookie to win, where teams at the bottom beat teams at the top.
In a nutshell we have matched everyone who plays us, we have more shots on goal and percentage of play, so how can anyone ever slag off King Kenny, ...he is a born winner, where with a bit more luck we would be in champions league position.

Chelsea are not going to win nothing this year, Arsenal definitely won't, either Man.U or Man.City won't, where Spurs may fall short at the final hurdle to Newcastle...... so against the odds, Kenny hasn't done too bad.

Give Kenny the budget to buy strength in depth of squad, to add to all last years signings. Carroll, Downing will both come good, and Henderson will shine in his usual central position as time goes by with Stevie G playing less, who was leading us great yesterday.

Give Kenny another year, then if not goes well bring back Benitez.

Did you even read that article?? pointless drivel

15 Apr 2012 07:45:24
do you see any chance of getting rossi or dieumercia mbokani what do you think ed:)reds {Ed001's Note - Rossi has suffered another injury, I doubt we will go in for him, his career must be in doubt at the top level now. No idea about Mbokani though, sorry.}
