Hi Eds
Could you possibly clarify if we have a serious interest in Menphis Depay? Rumours circulating recently have Liverpool as favourites then Utd have as good as signed him then Liverpool odds on again!! Has rogers made any moves for this lad and also is there any genuine interest in Rui Patricio and Carvalho??
{Ed002's Note - PSV's Memphis Depay has attracted interest from a number of clubs with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Newcastle, Spurs, Marseille and Manchester United looking to see of a deal can be struck this past summer. Marseille signed Batshuayi and dropped their interest in Depay, and I suspect both Manchester City and Real Madrid have dropped their interest. Manchester United, Newcastle and Spurs are known to still keeping an eye on the player with Everton and Liverpool also both having had the player watched recently. Someone very knowledgable about football in the Netherlands has suggested that a move to Newcastle would suit him better than the likes of Real Madrid or the Manchester sides as he would need a couple of years to establish himself in the first team and sitting on the bench will not help him at all. He has also advised the player against a move to Spurs, and his views are well enough thought of to likely remove them from being an option for the player himself. No offers have been made to PSV at this time but it is know that a figure between €25M and €30M would be enough for them not to block a move. The expectation remains that a move to Manchester United is most likely.
I answered about Patricio earlier.
There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been fairly recent approaches by Arsenal and Manchester United. Monaco and Atletico Madrid may also still be interested. Juventus and Chelsea passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. Everyone knows the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player at the start of last year but I am not aware of any interest right now.}
