Any truth in the meriless to Chelsea rumour ed? It's on the daily mails website - cheers

Omz {Ed001's Note - first of, why are you reading the Daily Mail's website as a Liverpool fan? This is the paper that now pays the scum that is Kelvin McKenzie his blood money. Secondly if it is in the Fail it is almost 99.9% certain to be complete and utter lies. Please don't even bother with it, they have no sources within Liverpool whatsoever, they made sure of that when they employed that 'man'.}

Ed can you help me? every body says the daily mail is anti liverpool. can i ask why? james {Ed001's Note - because it is, it is a Tory paper, if you don't know why that would make it anti-Liverpool then you should do some research regarding Thatcher and her war on the city and attempt to destroy it. But it is not really an answer for a footie site.}

Well said Ed
ScouseRed

Calling him a man ed is being kind to him i prefer to call him a lying rat could think of other things to call him but probably wont get posted {Ed001's Note - I did struggle to find a word to call him to be honest, let's just say what I call him normally I can't use here!}

Well said ed your truly are a legend mate keep telling it how it is

Tomo {Ed001's Note - I just wish people could understand just what it means when someone employs him. Immediately it shuts off all access to LFC sources, as it should do. The BBC are a disgrace because they continually employ him as well.}

I won't even look at a Daily Mail website any more and will never knowingly touch anything they are involved in- and no LFC fan should have anything to do with the paper until they get rid of that evil and arrogant thug Kelvin McKenzie.
He was the the man behind those awful headlines after Hillsborough that defiled the memory of so many innocent victims and caused so much more grief to the bereaved.
And never forget that he never properly apologised for the filth he ordered to be published as editor of the Sun. {Ed001's Note - not only has he not apologised but he has continued to spread the lies purely to make money. He is the lowest of the low, someone who makes money out of other people's distress and heartache.}

If you do not know the history behind it then fine. just keep an eye on their footy stories, always praising the mancs and always belittling liverpool, disgusting publication, i would not even use it to wrap uo my fish and chips

They said that AVB knew Meireles from his time at Porto? when AVB went to Porto Meireles came to us never worked together so Eds right they know f**k all Alphared

Done deal. some clubs are willing to pay for performances.

This is why the Eds are here to let you know the True, for Fans to understand the full Story , nothing wrong just look up the History and what they have said about US YNWA From Muggitzo

A great book to read is '44 Years With The Same Bird' - explains a lot of the anti-Liverpool politics of the Tories in the 80s from the dock strikes to the Hillsborough cover-up (in which the remorseless tw*t McKenzie was the main perpertrator). As a Liverpool supporter it is very important you read about what The Sun did to fully understand why Hillsborough is still such a passionate situation today and why we must avoid buying sh*te like the Daily Mail.

cozinoz

Well said Ed001. I just wish some of the balloonheads who still read those two rags will learn. I honestly despair when I see people in Liverpool reading The Scum, and reds everywhere have made it clear that The Fail is now another can't buy paper. Even without that bell on it's staff, most things they write are just lies anyway, so they're a match made in heaven.
As for Meireles to Chelsea, even if it was in another paper, I can't see it happening unless we got another enormous offer that we couldn't turn down. {Ed001's Note - I always cover up both papers with other ones when I go anywhere that sells them, it may be a little thing but it all helps.}

Ed001 - me too mate. If it's the morning, it's The Mirror and if it's afternoon it's The Echo that I cover them up with. Another thing, my lad gave up his paper round because he refused to deliver The Scum. He wasn't born at the time of Hillsborough, but it's all about education.
And for a bit of a history lesson, The Daily Fail was owned by Nazi sympathisers, Lord Rothermere, who was the cheerleader for Hitler, Mussolini and the original BNP, Mosley's British Union of Fascists.
Rant over, but suffice to say, it's a Conservative, bigoted, little Englander right wing newspaper that went from disgusting to completely unacceptable with the appointment of that tw@ MacKenzie.
Back on topic, Meireles to Chelsea is still not going to happen unless they break the bank. He's officially not for sale and if they're willing to throw £30 million at Spurs for Modric, we could hold out for a mega bid from them for Raul. Cheers.

Ed can you not be harsh on the lad. I check the transfer paper gossip on BBC or
Sky everyday, it happens to show rumours from the mail and the scum. I certainly don't check the full article on the websites but you can't avoid what you've just read. I too was wondering to the credibility of these Meirelles rumours. Thanks ed

My grandad used to call the Mail the "Daily Liar" and he died 50 years ago so their reputation is long standing.

I have received a fine education today lads, cheers. i was aware of the sun and their comments but i never knew it was the same man who know works with the mail now. and by the way, my grandfather is originally from mersey side but is in ireland now. he owns a store but wont sell the mail or the sun, now i know why...

I know its not football, but lets not forget that bitch of a paper has its annual dig at the national as well, especially ladies day, gobsh..es the lot of them

@GuillemBalague
Guillem Balague No offer made by Liverpool to Madrid for Higuaín. El Liverpool no ha hecho oferta por Higuaín

Maybe i am looking abit to far into the whole situation BUT at the moment Comolli is in Spain (correct me if i am wrong) and Guillem Balague has said that, he hasnt said there is no interest just there is no bid made, Maybe Comolli has gone to speak to Madrid? Just a thought, what does everyone else think?

He may well be sunning his **** no big name is signing..feckin wake up

atlfc70

Never understood this, yes DC is in Spain. How many teams in spain how many players at a club.... he could be there speaking to anyone. There will be no massive global brand footy players coming in to Liverpool this year

15 Aug 2011 22:55:53
Has Mata signed .. It's what i'm hearing around the city tonight 18 million ? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooo..wakeup..hes not signing..

atlfc70

What do you mean? You walk around eaves dropping and here people in all parts of the City saying Mata has signed? Are you playing a modified version of Sim City?

We need a world class: Stiker, Centre back, All round Centre Mid and right winger to win the title.

I put it to you that our turnover is bigger than City's yet their wage bill is twice the size...how can they sustain such a cost? If it possible, then why did we not go all out for Augero? So obvious he was the one, there is no way that our squad is capable of winning the league, we could maybe get 4th and i suppose that is our target but with most of the world's best players now tied up at City, Utd, Real and Barca, DC is going to have 1 hell of a job in Jan / next summer to try and find world class players to improve our very good but not world class throughout 11 especailly with Chelsea to have a massive influx of world class talent to cure thier ageing squad.

I reckon we should go for Lavezzi in the next window {Ed002's Note - Manchester City have much more money available to spend on transfers and wages than pretty much any team. Liverpool, like mosts sides, cannot compete with that.}

We've got a world class striker , Suarez
We've got a world class midfielder stevie back in few weeks
We've just bought an international winger Downing
We do need a CB tho
Then we need to believe And play for 95 mins every game
Its a journey
I'd be happy with 5th mate
Rugbyred

To the original poster--I suggest you root for city mate if fielding a fantasy team / near instant gratification is what interests you about the sport of football. City haven't won the title, nor performed well in Europe yet, so let's not act like theirs is the ONLY business model that works. Not even City with their money were able to go from ONE summer of spending to a title. But do you know what they did do? They won a cup and made the top four after a couple transfer windows. If you ask me that's absolutely the target for us this year. Be patient, unless your life depends (for some reason) on us winning the title this year I'd calm down and readjust your expectations.

TheKaiser

Just to answere the hole thing , We do it the Liverpool Way End of . Get off that High Horse. We are the Tue Fans................
Muggitzo

Ok eds so where is their income?

atlfc70 {Ed001's Note - did you not see the size of their sponsorship deal?}

Long term our business model is much more sustainable than, say city's. They found themselves in a situation with very rich owners who are prepared to throw incredible sums at them in the hope future success.
Now that is currently the case, however what is likely to cut right back on their expenditure in the near future is the Ffp rules because irrespective of their sponsorship deals & possible future success they do not have the global fan base to sustain such high spending- see Chelsea as an example of this and their continued financial losses despite nearly 8 years of champs lge participation and it's financial rewards Hell even Madrid & barca have huge debts and look at their success and fan base
We'll be fine if we get top 4 this year and if we continue to spend within our means {Ed001's Note - fan base can only carry a club so far, they are in the middle of a complete regeneration of the area surrounding their stadium. That will bring in huge sums and it is nowhere near the finish of their business plans to expand City as a brand.}

The Sheik can sustain citeh from his pocket money

Do you realise just how wealthy the sheik is?

His Fortune is 30,000 million and growing each year

Abramovich is 13,000 Million

Citeh are no drain on the sheiks resources

No I don't want to support Citeh but we have to be honest in our appraisal of other teams and their resources

The financial fair play rules must be implemented and enforced, does anyone trust the governing bodies to do that?

City have owners that wont even begin to miss TEN times what they have already spent. They have seen the Chelsea model work and City are hell bent on going one better. We had better get used to it, but for the last 11 years,ever since Abramovich turned up, MONEY has been the answer to instant success - you only have to look at Chelsea to see that. We should lower our expectations for the near future and hope our way prevails

Ed001,I accept your point regarding city's future plans however, a global fan base is the fundamental basis for long term financial sustainability- neither city nor Chelsea have this hence their continued losses. sponsorship deals only go so far as every business that sponsors/invests in city will expect a return on that investment hence the need for a global fan base, which they are unlikely to get due to the tribal nature of football fans.
Within 3-4 years city are likely to still be ina strong position but they won't be throwing silly money around like now, it's completely unsustainable for a club their size- that's why I used barca & Madrid as examples of huge clubs who still have massive debts- city by comparison have no chance of long term success without having an excellent academy to use to lower long term outgoings.
Anyway enough about them lot , kenny's gathering his armies for war

First of all, Aguero would not have joined a club with no CL football and anyhow 200 k a week would have only upset other players.
Secondly , no I do not trust the governing bodies to make the fair play rules work.They will allow rich clubs to slip through loopholes because they will not have the balls to try to stop them.

I don’t care who we need I will just watch every game with crazy optimism.

TEE JAY

Lad acceping your point,at last someone who listens without"im a bigger fan,cos im rose tinted".i also take your point.and turnover rules to be added soon.as working business,not arabs own capital.we must dwarf city.can see bitve other side.and yes we must move on.however no carrol,or hendersen,wouldve bought aguero,and paid mostve wages.trains left station however {Ed001's Note - and then one of Aguero or Suarez would have had to play out of position. As well as every other player at the club expecting a pay rise to bring them inline with the new pay structure at the club. Not buying Carroll and Henderson would not have brought in Aguero at all, that is incredibly narrow minded thinking.}

15 Aug 2011 22:05:11
Ed, cum on mate u must nw why DC is in Spain {Ed001's Note - sorry no I don't, all I have is conjecture, but no certain facts regarding it.}

Sorry edd enlighten me on what a conjecture is, and what conjecture it is?;p; {Ed002's Note - It is when a boy ad a girl love sch other very much and however your try and hold it back ---- oh, sorry, that's premature conjecture.}

Its called liverpool rumours give us a rumour eds we're big boys&girls {Ed001's Note - I can give you rumours about why we are out there, but I don't KNOW why we are out there. I can tell you that the most solid seeming rumours surround Pacheco returning to Spain. The other main rumours surround incoming players, Godin (though it seems to be him being Uruguayan that is the source of them), and a transfer involving Getafe. But none could I say were based on definite info, just the rumours, and as far as I am concerned I would suspect Pacheco and Getafe to be the same rumour personally. But that's simply because I can't think off the top of my head of any of their players, let alone any we have watched.}

Dont think commoli over in spain to look after pacheco been shipped out, im sure his agent can do that edd {Ed001's Note - yes I am sure his agent could, if a fee was agreed between the clubs....}

Haha love it ed i think you won your very own post of the day lol.

aguero on 2 mins n looks a demon lol, dam those f***in arabs n their wealth lol, happy with luis tho hes an animal
best playa in copa america
5 gold stars

He was on for a lot longer than 2 minutes

What a player. Him and Silva work so well together. Just imagen Tevez (looks like hes staying) and Aguero with Silva behind. Even as a Liverpool fan i can admire such classy players in one team

If we paid that fee for carrol,why couldnt we have got aguero?? {Ed002's Note - Wages, transfer fee, he did not want to move to Liverpooll. Regardless, he has gone elsewhere, as everyone was told he would.}

I posted it when he was on 2mins ah if tevez plays in a 4 prong attck then good nite

I was impressed too as you say tevez and aguaro with silva behind better than Man Utd
i think, but i still think we can get 3rd.
aintree dave

Maybe Andy Carroll will watch and take note what 35mil can buy. Dedication and hard work on the pitch, playing for the team. I know it's early days but how long has it taken Aguero to settle?

Liverpool should have signed him. They had the chance a few years back when we were in the champions league. They rested on their laurels and had the opion "We don't need to improve. Now look where we are. Signings like Carroll etc. Sends out an anti-football. Playing the ugly game. If swansea can play like Barcelona. Liverpool should be able to :)

Tbh it was swansea and the lat fifteen minuets of the game. point taken tho he does look good. i think its the players like kompany,richards,yaya that will smash other teams physically and allow the flair to put them to the sword :(

hope lfc get one or two winger is inn + a cb and st but only if they are better than the players we have or its just not worth it

YNWA

I feel like throwing my laptop at the wall what part of WE CANT AFFORD HIS WAGES do you not understand i want to know really?
aintree dave {Ed001's Note - it is not worth it mate, people just live in a fantasy bubble at times.}

Against the mighty swans ? get a grip man, suarez is double the player he is. and if he does not play every game just watch the toys fly, a la the tedious tevez

So what are you saying Ed001, are we not signing Aguero? Because PaulT on twitter said we definitely are. The window hasn't closed yet, just remember that. {Ed001's Note - ok mate, I will bear that in mind ready to apologise to everyone if he does sign when I was saying he was not going to.}

4 prong attack? They'll ship a lot of goals themselves with four attackers

We have to face facts - we cannot compete with the money City has got. I love all our honest endeavours to get behind KK - but Yossi, Xabi, Masch and Stevie was THE best midfield we have ever fielded - we are an ocean away from that class now. We need fluidity up front - Does big Andy give us that?...I am wistfully thinking "if only traitorres had stayed"

Swansea playing like Barcelona is there no end to knobs on this site

Really, because he scored a brace against a newly promoted team due to lapses in defence makes every1 believe he will be a hit in EPL. I am LMAO. he will brought to pieces against teams like Stoke and Bolton. SUAREZ and CARROLL will play off each other, wait and watch. Our team was not match fit and dint play together as a unit pre-season hence the draw against sunderland else we could have poached in 4 or 5 in the first half itself.

wait and watch this space, LFC will be finishing top 4 and Man City will b in ruins once Mancini unveils his mask and asks for more control at City like he did at Inter

I am shocked by the amount of stick Caroll is getting from Liverpool Fans.
We played nonsense in the second half and its Caroll's fault? Amazing football analogy I guess football has become a one man sport.

Sportsvibe reporting that Arsenal interested in signing Joe Cole, can't see it myself but what's your thoughts ed.

You can always count on sportsvibe for a solid sourse

ste liverpool

Would sort of make sense, same type of player as fabragas on his day.
shame we were unable to bring him back to his near best.

Rubbish., joe cole doesn thave the legs

3.5 Mil "arry" got for RK does it for me if Degen comes along free

This is not going to happen

Red Willie

Taxi for Cole I'll help pack the suitcase.

dalejonhson from ESPN claims that Liverpool have bid 12 million plus ngog for cahill.

Does anyone know how reliable this source is?

Just give them the money and we will walk away with a awsome english cb to complete are back 4, look kenny got told he has money to spend now aswell

That was tweeted on saturday morning, catch up

They probably got it from this site

15 Aug 2011 19:05:01
kennys comment today about henry telling him to buy more blows a hole in the knows who have been saying since we bought downing that we haven't got any money to spend and we wont be buying anyone else.dc isnt in spain on his jollies he thier to get are big marque signing.we dont go to other clubs to sell are players so dont bother saying thats what hes doing
in kenny we trust
deano mcc

I dont think FSG have a problem bankrolling players transfer fees, its being stuck with a massive wage bill full of players who are barely good enough to be in our reserves they dont want.

Well put deano, something is happening, thats for sure.

Yer but when funds are made available wages are included in the packagefsg are putting thier money where thier mouths are.unlike the other 2 clowns.the piont is were moving the right direction
deano mcc

Hope your right deano.we defo need another striker of pace.be gr8 to shock everyone again.however does anyone see odemwinge of w.brom as an option?hes proven in prem.celtic lads good but inconsistant

I think we will see some players released from their contracts, FSG want liverpool FC in the champions league and they know with arsenal, man city, chelsea and Man Utd in the the top4 slots it's gonna cost them, so of course they will be willing to spend,

Sounds promising, i missed the comments myself though, were, were they said deano just out of curiosity mate.

Spot on mate. Seems the Eds are keeping quiet over somthing.

We have buckets of cash, the problem is shifting the excess

He said it to the daily post this morning,you probably get it on the liverpool echo website.we always seem to get rid of are surples players at the end of the window.ed001 confirmed it hes doesnt get much wrong here.

Just wondering if any of the Eds or fans know why Marveax wasn't even on the bench against Arsenal? Have we dodged a missile by him being injured or just not included in the match day squad? Jonson6

Because he is French why he didn't play ..

Yeap mystery,as was kellys omission

He was on a shopping spree spending all his money earnt from being injured..dodged a bullet

He was practising his crosses in training but they were a bit wayward so they made him go and fetch the balls he'd kicked. He's still in the trees looking for them.

15 Aug 2011 17:56:54
Hey Ed's, great job as always. Question for ya.
Meireles, Aquilani, Cole, Maxi, Poulsen, Kyrgiakos, El Zhar, Ngog, Wilson, Shelvey, Pacheco, Ayala. I expect these are all players that KD and DC are trying to offload, some on permanent deals and some via loan. What I ask, if you are willing to take the time, is what do you envision happening to each one of these players before the window closes? Where are they likely to go? Loan or permanent? Sales or contract termination? Or staying put for the time being?
I know to compile a list of sorts is a big ask I'm just very curious and would be most appreciative of a response. Thanks.

-Canadian Red {Ed002's Note - Some will leave and others will stay. It may be necessary for some to be offered on a free, or worse still released from their contracts. There is not time to predict what will happen to each but Aquilani wants out and Liverpool will sell for 10M euros or let him go on a loan to buy; Ayala - Norwich may be favourites; El Zhar perhaps relesed; Pacheco to a mid table Spanish side.}

Pay a portion of high earners wages for 6mnth.but for gods sake get rid

Ayala has already officially been sold

Maxi are you mad . He's the only other footballer Suarez and Kuyt that has footballing brain up front, otherwise we're just playing head tennis in the box, yawwwwwwwwwwn

15 Aug 2011 17:26:05
Ed do you know of any interest in rossi? Also do you think we might try a bid for marin, elia or hazard? {Ed002's Note - No and I doubt it.}

Cant see it.but carrol needs competition for place,this is lfc lad,work

15 Aug 2011 17:37:28
Hi eds, Great site btw :), i was just wondering if you could say if any of the specualtion about forland coming to anfeild is true? cheers , YNWA {Ed002's Note - It seems very unlikely to me.}

Be good if true though

15 Aug 2011 15:53:11
Hi eds Im down here in the Dom/rep
family members down in Latin
america called to tell me that L,pool
reps have been in touch with ath/
madrid people regarding diego godin,
only my opinion but I dont think
madrid will sell seeing they just
received a nice chunk of change
from man/city,but one never knowns
as the saying goes if the price is
right everthing is for sale.( my name
is F Godin) second post with this
info (gracias y buenas tardes)

15 Aug 2011 13:43:12
Hi ed if it is true that we have interest in godin do you know if he's any good have'nt seen much of him an if he's that good why did'nt he start for uraguay in the copa america? How do you rate him with the likes of gary cahill? Cheers
skurks {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Godin.}

Dunno but i prefer proven prem meself.been done too often

Nah, He's good. Let go for an average player at a mid table time and pay over the odds

ED002

You were just told of interest in Godin in the previous post you know the guy down in the dominican Republic?

Do you think he's telling porkies? {Ed002's Note - Alas I do not know the person in the Dominican Republic. I don't know of any interest in Godin, but it is not out of the question.}

15 Aug 2011 13:42:26
Afternoon eds.

Any idea on what our chances are of signing Musacchio from Villareal? I know we were looking at him a while back. Seems a decent player from what I've seen and would certainly strengthen our defence. I know Villareal signed Zapata this transfer window so would they be willing to do business over Musacchio? Would also be a cheaper alternative to Cahill or Godin I'd imagine..?

Thanks.
Chally {Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely, but perhaps possible, to me.}

15 Aug 2011 13:26:31
Dear Eds: As and when Aquilani leaves, do you know of any interest in Diego from Wolfsberg, as we clearly lacked any game changing flair coming off the bench on Saturday? {Ed002's Note - Don't expect to see Diego at Anfield this coming season.}

Cheers, Thanks to you and all the other hard working Eds.

I have been saying this all summer. Its all very well have bought the players we have, but none can change the game in a way that Suarez can.

Ash

Diego be superb or marin,lets hope commoli springs a surprise from somewhere.we need bitve class.also make adam captain in stevies absense.carra cant influene midfield,or couldnt saturday

Gerrard Can and what's more he's been doing it a lot lot longer and better than squarez

Ueay we're missing somebody with a spark in midfield, Adams, doesn't really cover midfiled and strolls out about as does henderson, painful to watch at times

If Aquilani leaves, we definitely need a Diego Ribas like CAM if we are to challenge for top 4.
If Diego isn't possible, then get Mata. Worst case scenario, promote Suso.

BooDaBooze

15 Aug 2011 12:40:24
Ed has Raul's salary problem been resolved or is he closer to leaving?I know one of Ed's said that Kenny would like him to stay.Also any news on Cole?Hope he leaves,90k and he ain't even on the bench. {Ed002's Note - I don't know that it has been resolved yet. I have never been convinced that Joe Cole will be leaving.}

You are right again ED002 Joe Cole won't go he's bloody terrble and no one wants him?

15 Aug 2011 12:18:10
hey eds i hear a lot of cahill to liverpool with ngog going the other way.
if this were to happen, would bolton want to sell cahill for cash, then go and buy ngog in a seperate deal or part ex with ngog. as i hear there is a clause for a sell on fee, what would be easier or the most likely outcome?
MIKEY {Ed002's Note - Absolutely no idea, sorry. In other cases deals will be kept separate unless they are financially dependent of each other - then one falling through does not impact the other.}

Juan Mata is supposed to be in England this week, don't know why could just be for social reasons, but you never know...

Adam

To see jls that's why I heard he a huge fan .. Why would he come to England and how on earth did u find out haha don't make lies :l

To see Henderson playing at the Emirates. He is a big fan of Henderson :-).

Jonny Mata he's here in the UK for English Lessons

So he can read this site and boost his EGO

I think he is coming to visit his sister.

Adam

15 Aug 2011 15:47:24
Cahill is the man for us hes quick good in air great on the ball and scores dunno why we looking at anyone else pay the money and get him stop fannying abt lads,plus dunno why kuyt was on bench sat silly move shud played from start.

100% agreeand where was kelly?

Kuyt with suarez any day

Henderson over Kuyt, don't make me laugh/cry. Henderson did absolutely nothing

15 Aug 2011 15:23:11
Carrolls goal was wrongly ruled out for a foul not off side as i put. Please post Eds, honest mistake. Jonson6

The foul was for pushing Wes Brown mate

And it was as soft a call as you're going to see.

TheKaiser

Watch the footage again and Carroll makes no contact with Brown. Definately a poor decision.

It was not Brown but Ferdinand. Never a foul though.

True but that apart lacklustre,from carrol

Never a foul.
Shearer wouldn't have scored a single goal in his life if that was a foul.

15 Aug 2011 14:51:58
Liverpool will not sign Ryan Shawcross as i had said before, Instead they will go for Chelsea's Alex for around 12m.
Talks are said to going in right direction.

Anonymous Keyboard Warrior

Surely thats bad business, decent player but atleast 33yrs old and 12m is ridiculous money when Cahill supposedly worth 16m whilst being nearly 8 years Alex's junior, hopefully this stays just a rumour. Holmes25

Thats f##king stupid, alex is rubbish, he's a chelski player, old, slow and not worth 12 mil.

Which direction is that then , to the pub
Or some special place in narnia?
Rugbyred

Is that in about 2 years after he signs for Juve

WOW........ you can read newspapers and browse websites, Pure genius

LFCmonkey

So the talk of him not settling in England are untrue and he isnt going abroad then.....

Yeah at 10 to 3 in the afternoon I've read the papers as well. Keep up the good work though, at the cutting edge of rumour spreading mate

I'd like Alex to come,thunderbolt right foot,good at free kicks,decent defender,and youngish :)

Stop talking garbage

Alex is 29. But still prefer Cahill or Dann

Don't think we should buy Alex but he is 29 not 33

The very idea that DC and KK will go against their younger signings policy and pay so much money for a player who is even older than Carra is so ridiculous it would not even be worth replying to- but in this case it is worth noting the nickname, and remembering that future posts are going to be made-up rubbish.

diego godin will come to liverpool and we should make a 8m bid for hugo rodallega as a back up striker

I agree - I really like Rodallega. Add a natural right winger and we will be complete IMO.
-red norwegian-

An average wigan player for the past 3 years and you think liverpool should sign him? Would chelsea or utd think like that. get real boy

Totally agree - Rodallega is class. The good thing is there are so many quality strikers out there, when it comes to broadening the squad. I still will agree with some of the eds, that Park Chu Young of Monaco would be absolutely perfect.

Or defoe,james mccarthy,odemwinge,forlan,plenty options

King Kenny said that John Henry has been telling him to get more players in without selling first

www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2011/08/15/liverpool-fc-boss-kenny-dalglish-lfc-can-carry-on-buying-without-having-to-sell-92534-29235400/

So there you have it everone who says theres no money left....great site eds by the way {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much}

More than likely true as u know NESV are not shy to invest, but what is the point in paying wages for players who are not fit to wear the badge, there will be players released, thats defo. Great site btw. YNWA

Well f in do itcos we went missing,heads went down,and no leadership sat.yes where unlucky,but sometimes you have to make it happen.with never say die attitude.only waylook how many times manc t ats do it-late

Any Fellow red or Ed's know how Stevies is?
KKs last interview suggested that he was better than they anticipated but haven't heard anything since.
If he's likely to be available for selection in September i would hope that he is going to be back in training but not heard anything?

Flanno is a really good prospect but i think Kelly is an all round better player. KK needs to play Kelly a lot more than flanno IMO, flanno didnt have the best of games on saturday, Anyone know why Kelly didnt play?
ScouseRed

He is going to QPR so that deal may be complete soon if all is ok.

Flanagan is playing there for his pace. He can get outside Henderson on the right wing and, more importantly in my opinion, he can provide cover for Jamie Carragher. Just watched the game over and Carra does tend to sit too deep to cover for pace. As a result the whole back 4 are too deep.
The Ronoc

Kelly didn play as they needed cover on the bench 4 center back..... dublin red

He picked up a little injury and kenny didnt want to risk him

Someone told us outside the ground that he was carrying a knock cos we was asking each other the same question.

Kelly has more pace that flanagan and gets dont the wing better. flanagan needs a little more time. kelly should of started on sat

He is going to QPR so that deal may be complete soon if all is ok
----------------------------------------

Can anyone tell me why we would be looking to off-load Martin Kelly to QPR when he was being considered the find of the season prior to his injury at West Ham? The guy is definitely a future England international and I can't believe that KK isn't aware of that fact.

Kenny made a mistake pure and simple

Leave flano alone he had 1 bad game ever player sometime has bad game

Kelly is quicker than Flanagan... He had a little knock and that was that

Fowler's left peg

Flannagan had a bad second half like the rest of the team.
He was definitely good in first half - moved forward well, provided a couple of nice crosses and a couple of nice through balls, was also solid in the back.
If anything he should be given more time on the pitch to develop. If not in big games, at least in cup ties and against bottom half teams.

Kelly is the dogs doodas, probably our best allround defender even though ive not seen him at centre back but shows he has everything to his game. im sure there was a fair reason why he didi not play.

If kellys going to qpr,kennys lost itboys class.way ahead of flanno

Rumours in spain say that DC is in the hunt for Diego Forlan and a possible swap with Raul Meireles. One to watch for the coming weeks, but it is thought this could go through in days.

I would say this rumour is based on fiction
nothing more nothing less

I think they might the voices in head
Not rumours mate
Get well soon

Doubt it very much. Forlan doesn't fit the age policy and has already flopped in the Premiership before. We already have Kuyt as a backup striker, who isn't getting any younger himself Suspect it's for Godin, with Pacheco and/or Raul going the other way or just straight cash. Matt

15 Aug 2011 13:28:39
Damien Comolli is in Spain looking to find a deal to sign Godin from Atletico. It is between him and Cahill for a CB. Cahill has been told he can leave if a club offers £16mil. Liverpool are willing to offer £13mil seeing as he has 1 year left on his contract. If Comolli can agree a price for Godin at around the £12-14mil mark, it will be he who signs.

We are after Shawcross or Alex from Chelsea. Grazer1975

kenny Paddy mc Court would be a great buy he is class fans would love him what do you think Ed

He is too inconsistent - when he's good he's when he's bad he's awful

Paddy McCourt will NOT be coming to Anfield. Please stop. Not good enough for the reserves, I don't understand this talk. It will not happen.

Are u taking the mick mate. i never heard of the bloke until last week when he scored against a bunch of part timers. he cant get into the celtic team so what makes u think he would even be good enough for liverpool reserves. ive always said i trust kk and who he brings in. but if this is true i will have to think things over lol....

Think it mad mate he's awful u just seen his goal the other night and made something up I met him and Neil mc ginn about 2 months ago he was givin out awards at my football presentation in Belfast he is rubbish simple As every1 forgets he scored against the foroe islands plus he loves a drink I seen first hand.lol

The guy cant get in 2 celtics starting 11 never mind our great team he scores a great goal in midweek for ireland every one goes wild and jumps on the band wagon plus hes 27 be surprised to see this happen he would be more suite to a team like wolves

Think it mad mate he's awful u just seen his goal the other night and made something up I met him and Neil mc ginn about 2 months ago he was givin out awards at my football presentation in Belfast he is rubbish
----------------------------------------

Were you able to tell how good a footballer he was by the way that he handed out the trophies? Did he have to dribble around those attending in order to give out the award?

And what as NIALL McGinn doing while Paddy was showboating??

Go to Youtube and look at some of Paddy's goals. it may be in the Irish league and the SPL which are poor leagues compared to the EPL. You can't deny he's got talent. People may say it's only the Faroes but when was the last time an England player scored a goal like that against e.g. San Marino etc. The problem with Paddy is he's an out and out winger and doesn't work so hard for the team as foe example a Downing or McGeady. Being a Celtic fan I would rather keep him as an impact player.

ed,
do you think there is any truth behind the reports that we are interested in Celtic's Paddy McCourt?

I really hope they are, because this man has plenty of talent and under Kenny, he could become even better.

Also.....I have heard arsenal could make a bid for Lucas?? {Ed007's Note - I am trying to find out exactly what is happening. It has came completely out of the blue and everyone knows something, but it's all different things people know}

There is no way that it will happen, he is not good enough for a poor celtic side, no way, no how. dublinred

Hi Ed... are you referring to the mccourt or lucas rumour??
Thanks,
Paul Mc {Ed007's Note - Oh sorry, I meant McCourt, I am the main CFC editor, I wrongly assumed people knew that.}

As an avid Liverpool fanatic and northern Ireland fan is like to comment on the paddy mccourt rumour. Granted the boy has talent, but a lack of pace and often poor decision maker I don't believe he has enough in his locker to be a success at Liverpool. Id love 2c an ulsterman at the mighty reds, but he simply is nt good enough. One good game for b. Ireland against the extremely poor faroes does not warrant a move for him

Let's get it straight gents. This guy cannot get into the Celtic side which let's be honest, play in a pub league and secondly NI were playing the Faroe Islands. Is this player really the answer seeing as we have just bought another 27 year old left winger? Just another piece of lazy journalism

You mite call the SPL a pub league but your affrade to let Rangers and celtic into the Prem because you know once the old firm get their hands on some real cash they will dominate the league within 5 years

Who knows.need striker.right sided player.oh and someone take lead in centre for gods sake

Delegation don't need to travel abroad to sell, they do that all through email and fax. Especially if DC has gone it will be buying, so expect some spending abroad.

Moreover if any club in spain wants pacheco or mirales they should come here to delegate .why the hell comolli needs to travel ?

Meireles will be gone and we will have an awsome CB come in

He needs to travel to try and get someone to buy the crap we have sitting on their big fat wages

So if we are selling someone that can be done with faxes, but if we are buying someone we need to send a delegation? why can't it be done with faxes?

Comolli probably had to drug Poulsen like BA Baracus in the A Team to get him abroad. "I ain't getting on no plane fool to go somewhere for lower wages" was heard by everyone in John Lennon Airport, just before Comolli bought him a Sausage and Egg McMuffin laced with Temazepan. Expect Poulsen to wake up sitting in a Seville press conference with their shirt on, while Comolli runs away shouting "I pity the fool."

Clearly we only have an incoming fax / emailing system at Liverpool I'm not too sure that DC is out there to be negotiating for someone - don't we have all our targets?

Hope its not the same delegation thats gone to asia on a scouting trip eds?

Oh man the A team joke was good much better than reading how Flanno is a good player

The Fax is hardwired to Newcastle

Any more news on anything Macca?

I cant seem to get anything posted, sorry.. Is there a problem eds?

Cheers

Macca {Ed007's Note - Sorry Macca, I'm holding the fort and trying to get as much posted as possible. I can't really comment on LFC so there is no way I am going to say something to incur all of you guys wrath! So all the questions to "Ed" I am leaving for someone more qualified on LFC to answer, they will be dealt with ASAP though.}

Hi ED just wondering if there is any truth in the roumers about liverpool going for chelsea defender ALEX? {Ed001's Note - Alex is looking to leave the UK I was told, that is why he is up for sale, he has not settled here.}

Alex not settled? Could be Chelsea players not making new players welcome?
No team spirit?

Doni and Lucas both Brazilian in our squad like Ramires and Luiz I know but our team spirit is better, fantastic defender his performance against Stoke he didn't put a foot wrong

"not settled" brilliant He has lived here 4 years Do you not think it more likely that he has decided that the time is right to move on. He is 29 and would get one last good contract and signing on fee were he to move now. Its about money as per usual.
s1280

I'd take what Chelsea have over Liverpool any day. Even if the team spirit is bad (amazing how you seem to know btw) they challenge for the prem, champ league and fa cup every season, are constantly linked with world class players, and have the best young manager around. Whereas on the other hand we have Liverpool, haven't challenged for the title for a while, can't get in Champs League, linked with a Chelsea reject (Alex) and a Celtic Player? And have a manager who hasn't managed for a good few years and thinks that buying the 'Best of British' will win you the league, someone tell him hes not managing Blackburn Rovers in the mid 90s now and that times have changed.

I shall leave you alone now....

Yeah f**k off to chelski

Great to see the Chavs coming onto our site and contributing. However it is interesting that the Chav forgot to mention spending £50 mil on a certain reject who still hasn't endangered any barn doors recently.

Despite the vain attempt to talk Chavski up, it still smacks of hoping that someone believes that they are a big club. Must be sad that someone else has a bigger chequebook. Perhaps the Chav would like a tour of our trophy room to see what a Champions League trophy looks like at close quarters. Sad little boy blue

Btw didn't your reject Alex play at the weekend?

Morning Ed(s).

I know there has been a lot of debate on here about a new CD and lots of speculation over who, if any, we will sign. It would seem the favourites were Dann or Cahill with the the other going to Arsenal. From what I can see, Dann is likely to go to the Gooners and Bolton may have overpriced Cahill and pout us off. So, what interest, if any, is there in Diego Godin and is there any possibility of getting him. I think he would be a great addition. We need to some pace across the back line and sadly, Carra is lacking that more and more these days. It makes us sit too deep trying to cover for the lack of pace. Godin would allow us to push up the field more and give Agger some space to carry the ball deep into the oppositions half too.
The Goatherder
JFT96 {Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out it seems Atletico are not looking to sell him but will if the price is right. But it doesn't seem we are currently willing to pay the asking price, which is in the region of 20m+.}

15 Aug 2011 11:47:31
If Spurs sign Odemwingie then expect Woy to join the hunt for Ngog. He see's Ngog and Long as a good front two.

Maybe he cud take Poulsen aswell after all he did rate him last year.

Just as well we got rid of Roy then

Woy if u sign ngog, ill forgive u for everything u done while u was with lfc

Long & Ngog - perhaps there is a surplus of Ns, GS and Os in the club shop?

Dawkins

Ild go for odemwinge myself

Leave Carroll alone. If His disallowed goal would have rightfully stood then nobody on this site would have said a bad word about him. He will definitely come good.....

Tom in wolves

Agreed Carroll will be fantastic for us

Absolutely bang on Tom. That was a perfectly legit goal. Nonsense decision to rule it out.

No doubt Caroll will become a great player. What I think he needs to work on is his timing when he jumps to head the ball. I think it's holding him back at the moment.
RHI

When he starts scorijng they wont be able to stop him

Oh come on He is rubbish Slow and a lazy player

Spot on Tom. I'll bet that he'll be in the top 5 scorers in the league this season.

Why on earth was Downing playing on the right 4 the last 10mins I dont no?No service given to Carroll this way,and Liverpool looked all the same again,not stretching the oppositions defence at all.Kuyt should of started,could not believe it when I seen Henderson starting.I know he needs time.

There's more to being a player than just being fast. I wouldn't say he is lazy. Anything but. Passionate player and offers something that no other top 4 club has. Apart from chelsea who have drogba. Brute force. To get as high as possible in the league the team must have as much variation as possible. Recent years we have
Been one dimensional. Now we have several ways of playing and that will definitely stand us in better stead.

Tom in wolves

His goal should have stood, when you watch the replay he didn't push him he touched his back....he's a good player, we've seen what he can do just give him time

Lets back this up a lil bit. Carroll is good in his own way, but no good striker will only wait for the ball to get to his damn head b4 he scores, so either we play only him as a striker with no partner or play Kuyt and Suarez together if we really need to start winning games

Got it so wrong. He does a lot more than just waits for the ball to come to his head to score. He creates space for the second striker by being a target. Holds ball up well so that our now top class midfielders can link up and play. From what I have seen on him he has a good final pass on him too. And a cracking shot. May not be blessed with pace but not all great
Strikers have. Remember that it is a team effort this year. Not just relying on two individuals as per usual. E.g gerrard and Torres.

Tom In wolves

Big fan of carrol, could see potential years ago { short hair } days. if he stays fit and injury free he will become an england hero to. if a player was backing into you,you would naturally put your arm up as carrol did,but your playing against a player of not much quality and his only brain cell tells him to make a dive out of it.goal should have stood. reff crap as usual

Hes slow.leave alone,on his fee?i fart more effort then him saturdayits this pc c ap,you cant say it as it is.yes hope and pray he comes good.fans aint personnel,cr p sat,and not overly impressive so farfact

Carrol over aguero,cos your a red eh tom

Aguero probably on 3 times what carroll is a week. Aguero is undoubtedly class but all said and done when he gets bored of Manchester just like Tevez did he will be long gone. Where as good old Andy will still be with us banging em in left right and centre. I'm a real red mate. Unlike you. Support the players we have. Not the Ones that play for our rivals. Idiot

Intelligentcia againnever answered the attend game question did you plantpot.3d glasses bring it closer?point being way over odds paid for carrol.brainwashed numptie-ooh someone doesnt agree=namecall,and question a 22 year season ticket holder-clown.constructive arguments reqd.but resorted tp your ilk

And of course hindsight genious plantpot knew all fees of potential alternatives,before carrol signed.get back to watching steve bull.if you know who he is/was

Funny me and mates replying in negative-as standshope wrong,re.carrol,but aint being posted?? {Ed001's Note - typical of the negative whiners to always complain their posts are not showing up. You whine about the players and now whine because you haven't spotted them. Is there a theme beginning to appear? Because I have not deleted posts for negative replies regarding Carroll, only ones that say the same thing as a thousand other posts that you could easily use to post about Carroll.}

Ed,pls post this..
As Liverpool Fan i dont want Carroll to bang goals in every match i think he is good targetman thats why we paid too much to bring him..He shoulDrogba

Ok Aqu is going no where IMO i beleive this to be true based opon the fact that two weeks ago i stated he had been removed from the first team list on LFC website. He has now been given the no 15 shirt, First he wasnt listed with a shirt no, then he dissapeard from the list alltogether, now he has a shirt number. I personally dont thik hes going anywhere in this transfer window.
Soulmiester.

Aqua will be going to Napoli with Lavezzi going to Liverpool.
I have inside news
Andrea from Napoli.

He will be leaving,and that's the bottom line cause Rock Hot said so

Rock Hot

Any team who wants Aqua is just waiting until the last possible moment to get as good a deal as they possibly can as they know we want rid. It makes complete sense and is similar to the game we played with Enrique.

He will be back in Italy very soon (Milan most likely I think). Its just the Italians being frugle. Cant blame them.

Red G

Thank God Rock Hot wandered in from the WWE to tell us something that we already knew. The number of 14 year olds who are so well informed regarding transfer deals never ceases to amaze me.

15 Aug 2011 10:30:46
Forlan could be got at cut price towards end of the transfer window.

Is it you, Sydney?
RHI

Hes to old to come to lliverpool we want younger players

15 Aug 2011 10:15:59
hey ed what do think about pacheco,s chances on playing for liverpool this season as a back up striker in place of ngog {Ed001's Note - highly unlikely, it seems he has burnt his bridges with the club.}

Ngogs far better than pacheco

Hasnt pacheco been playing for the spain u20s up until yesterday? {Ed001's Note - yes, I believe that is why he has not signed elsewhere as of yet. Still it is not definite until he does leave and I still think he has a lot of ability and I would love to see him make it with us.}

15 Aug 2011 10:14:41
Ed's>> Is it not possible the delegation is in Spain to arrange to offload players instead of acquiring a player.
Soulmiester {Ed001's Note - perfectly possible, I did mention it could be, with Pacheco being a big possibility.}

I would hope if we were selling a player they would come to us

Ed, do you think we would send a delegation to Spain to negotiate a sale? I dont know the finer details of how to negotiate a sale so please feel free to correct me, but could teh sale not be agreed over the telephone? By us going out there surely that would weaken our hand as would show that we are pretty desperate to sell by going there for negotiations? Or do you think it could be that we maybe said wel come over here for negotiations because we are meeting more than 1 representative? For sale of player or peurchase? Just seems a bit strange that we would send a delegation to spain to negotiate a sale, they want the player they send reps to us? Im not sayin that we are looking to buy a player from Spain, just asking the question around why we might send reps to negotiate a sale in Spain? Thanks in advance
Scouserjohnny {Ed001's Note - a delegation could be sent for any number of reasons, player transfers is only one of them. It could be to arrange a friendly, it could be to look round a stadium with us looking to make changes/build a new stadium, it could be to hold talks over loans or to look round their youth academy. There are many reasons it could be unfortunately, but the most likely would be a player transfer during the transfer window.}

15 Aug 2011 09:20:14
Ed you said we have sent a delegation to spain, well do you think it could be for any of the following players, Higuin, Rossi, Mata as i know we have watched their clubs a lot this season or do you think that it is more likely to be for selling a player? {Ed002's Note - Just the three?}

Heard reds want Derry pele paddy mccourt of Glasgow Celtic, he is a great dribbler of a ball but maybe lacks 90 minutes in him. But he is great entertainment and would be a great impact player from bench. Give us £5m and you can have him Timalloy

Just the three ED's bcoz they are the ones we are TRULY interested in, who did u have in mind, Kanoute??, Trezeguet??, Tamudo??......

Hey ED's Do you think it might be Godin, coz you said "ony those 3"? And is there any chanses for Higuain, as i have heard Kenny said he feels a preshure for BUYING players, not selling?? (great site BTW, im addicted :) ) {Ed002's Note - You didn't read what I wrote then? Start with the questin mark and work back.}

15 Aug 2011 09:11:04
11.5m bid placed for D Godin from A Madrid

15 Aug 2011 09:40:20
ed/s can you plz shed some light on who damien might be scouting over in spain {Ed002's Note - Perhaps a new home for Pacheco?}

Perhaps he is negotiating deals with Ronaldo and Messi to come to LFC. Thats to optimism btw, but me thinks he is looking at Mata or Higuain.

I hope it is diego godin because he will make are defence complete

Papers are saying we are in for McCourt but a a good source tells me it's hooper as the back up striker..but he has a ssuffered injury at wkend and we
are waiting till Monday for extent...You heard it here first...

Do you mean Garry Hooper? He played at my local team Grays athletic wen he was young. Love to see he was good enough. I always said he was to good for the level he was at even when the then manager let him go coz he didnt think he was good enough.

Hooper would be ideal, the man is a proven goal scorer and i also think we should take a punt on his strike partner, i forgot his name, but he is nearly the same age as Hooper.

We had it here first...stupid idiot...something that has been writing on both bbc and goal.com
stop re posting what has been read

Stokes is his strike partner.
Skurks

Loadsve skill,but can he do it consistantly
