Ed02, Any interest from Liverpool on Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong? All I heard he is lightning fast.

Anderlecht's Frank Acheampong attracted the interest of Newcastle and Brighton last season and has been watched by Sevilla and Toulouse this season. His agent, OIliver Konig, has previously been keen to point out that the likes of Inter, Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich have been showing an interest in the player - they haven't been.}

Ed2, what does the agent stand to gain from making up a list of teams who have watched his client? Is it just in the hope that another club panics and starts watching the player? If so, does it ever work?

{Ed002's Note - It gets publicity as he tries to raise the profile of his player and gets his name out there as well. Clubs have to be a little bit careful nowadays with African players taken through the Far East and Belgium - and of folks hiding beind the Cotonou Agreement in Spain where African and Caribbean players are not counted against non-EU quotas so there is a periodic influx of Africans, often young and from poor families. I don't know of any interest as I have said but would be sceptical unless it were confirmed by Anderlecht (who are very open as a club) that there has been some sort of approach. Liverpool were represented at least once at a game involving Anderlecht this season but I am not aware of where the interest was - but I would suggest Dendoncker or perhaps even Tielemans may have been looked at.}
