Very direct, and a little cocksure from the manager after the win yesterday, but you can hardly blame him. Those representing LFC yesterday that found themselves in the changing room at the end of the game, including but not only Hendo, were told:

--Players leave and players come, the only thing I want is what I saw today, if you give me that, it will never be me that asks you to leave. But it's not just for City, it's not just for Anfield, it's for whoever and wherever we play. Give me that, we will win, not just matches but trophies. Don't give me that, and that's when players come in--

Not Verbatim.

I only mention Hendo, because a: he wasn't't playing and b: i was told, he did add a little to the statement. - just for those that think he is not a good captain.

Peace.

interesting little read if true, and in my opinion a great way to inspire them all to up their game as much as possible, cheers!

The players' confidence must be sky high at the moment and they can only be inspired by things like that. Absolutely fantastic thing to say to make the players continue their form and not dip.

Hi Eds,
I regular reader since 2011, really love this site.

1) Has there been any interest in any of Lovren, Henderson or Mignolet?

2) Any chance of Emre Can staying if he keeps performing like he did on Sunday?
Will be a shame seing the back of him as i think he’s a better N.6 than Henderson.

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - 1) Why would there be? None have been for sale yet.

2) It is nothing to do with his performances.}

Just saw a report pop up weirdly late, saying we have agreed personal terms with Gilson Martins (spelling) giving him 80k a week but haven't agreed a fee with his club Who want us to pay his release clause of €60mil (£53mil) but we are only willing to pay half of that .

How can we agree personal terms with the player without agreeing to a fee with the club? that doesn't make sense to me we shouldn't have permission until they accept a fee should we? xD.

It's perfectly normal if it's all made up nonsense.

Og red if the selling club gives permission then the buying club can talk to the player. it happens quite a lot nowadays sometimes club reaches agreement with the player but then can't reach agreement on price with club.

{Ed002's Note - Sporting has certainly not given permission.}

15 Jan 2018 18:48:38
Ed002 I was by no way insinuating they had, just saying that permission is granted sometimes before a deal has been struck between clubs.

Don't worry ed2. That's never stopped us before.

Well, Sporting will get a massive pay day letting Martins leave and must be what they are aiming for.

{Ed002's Note - They are not looking to sell right now.}

Hi Eds, I have tried the search function, but Can is such a common word, it is hard to pin down.

I was wondering if there was any update on his signing a new deal, or moving for another club?

I do not want to bash Hendo; but i am happier with Can in the team at the moment.

Is it correct that Can wishes some assurances in playing time, as he must be ahead of Hendo in the pecking order at the moment?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - no he knows Klopp does not really have him in his long term plans so is highly unlikely to stay.}

15 Jan 2018 16:55:39
Shame as when Can plays to his best he is a major asset and will be a loss to the squad.

Same has been said about Coutinho JC23 but I read somewhere that we won more matches this season when Coutinho was not on the pitch fop us.

15 Jan 2018 17:37:09
We could afford the coutinho loss due to the volume of players we have to play the attacking roles in terms of central midfield we are lacking a bit.

Same goes for City when They are pinned back like yesterday. Football is not a science.

Fernandinho and even De Bruyne looked lost at times.

The only reason why City have been so strong is because Pep has been all out attack from minute one. Their defensive was dreadful yesterday and other teams will now see that. City's defence is as weak as anything, just like ours. Pep knows that and is why he was hell bent on blowing records on attacking fullbacks who cannot defend and has CB's that are no better than ours.

it looked to me that when Couts did not play, we were more direct in our play, something that I think works much better for us, a slower tempo held us back, now we can go for a quicker game .

Hi ed01, I think a lot of the can questions about can are coming from a picture he sent out after the game with a few other players, a couple of other players including sturridge commented with money insinuations, like he'd just got some deal, is it possible he's agreed a pee contract probably with large signing on fee, or agreed a new deal,

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - wasn't that a picture sent out by Lovren?}

15 Jan 2018 20:39:59
I'm not sure as I seen it used by some Liverpool pages to say can announced to the dressing room he'd agreed a deal, they're probably just guessing and badly at that,

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jan 2018 21:40:41
Pretty sure he didn’t actually state who the deal had been agreed with!

I think the money emoji's were because you get fined for taking photos in the change room.
