Loving the rumours and speculation. I would personally like to test Man Citys resolve and bid for Johnson and maybe a cheeky Richards bid. Having watched the U/21's United now have a CB partnership for the next 10 years.
I am hopeful that KK and DC are looking to address this area for us sooner rather than later (I am sure it's on their agenda) but don't want us to miss out.

Hi eds, do you think that Henderson will be our most expensive purchase this summer. I personally feel that we will spend big. I think this because pepe reina has said in numerous interviews that he believes in the " project " outlined to him by kenny when talks were held when his future seemed uncertain. So I believe that his decision to stay may have been swayed by what info he has been told about incoming transfers. I think it is fair to say that signing Henderson and Adam and downing would not have filled him with the greatest confidence in committing to the club albeit these players are perfectly capable and proven to play in the prem. I honestly believe that we will make some so called "marquee" signings. Your thoughts please ??

Oh my god, Henderson was so bad today, the worst player by a mile...can't pass, tackle, keep possession, shoot etc...wtf 20 million!! Spearing is 10 times the player. We could have spend so much better...i have seen so many talents in the past and remember my words...he won't be a success.

I heard from a very good source that Liverpool are in talks with Dortmund about Lucas Barrios. He scored 19 league goals in 2 consecutive seasons and helping Dortmund to the Bundesliga title last season. Comolli wants to start negotiations next week. {Ed001's Note - I am getting confused by all the different Lucases around now, which one is it that Chelsea have signed? Why is everybody saying that Doni deal is off? It is in the works and will be signed on July 1 or after. Relax it is in the bag and a simple deal to conlcude.

I can say with ABSOLUTE certainty that David Villa will NOT be leaving Barcelona this season, the signing of Rossi will just mean Villa will be used on the left, with Rossi in the centre, then after kickoff the front 3 would roam and cause havoc as they usually do. Just because Barca are signing players it doesn't mean they're planning to move their stars on, the most likely highish profile move could be pedro(maybe).

Also, Fabregas will start the season from the bench and be slowly integrated into the team, much the same as he is for the spanish national team.
I thought i'd throw the fabregas comment in there before people start thinking Xavi or Iniesta will be on the open market.

It just shows that everyone who says downing etc. are close to signing don't know that at all ! It shows that most of these players are smokescreens and KK and DC are looking at other targets. Now thats Doni, Henderson and Marin who have been bid for and no-one on this website mentioned any of them. Nobody on this website has got the transfer's close to right. Their "sources" must not exist or just don't know anything ! It shows that we are looking for high calibre players so don't expect Downing and the likes to sign !

Karl Oyston knew there would be other 'bigger' offers from other teams, hence the reason for his continual stalling of accepting the LFC offer.

Jus a thought, i really doubt there is anything like an "unproven" player if there ever was a word. People just use that word to mean untested player at a high club, but the way i see it, its usually these kinds of players who make it big rather than the high class players!...so i dont think its fair to say a player is unproven, he just needs a bigger stage and better nurturing.
On to rumours, is there a chance we could offer Aquilani + the odd 5-10M for the services of both Phillipe Coutinho and Davide Santon. Im sure you will realise that Santon covers the LB and RB position. As for Coutinho, i have seen him play as i study in Milan and this guy is just like Keisuke Honda, an attacking utility player who can play any position from wings, to CAM to second striker if needed!!!..ur thoughts ed??.. {Ed002's Note - Stranger things have happened.}

Not a rumour, but more an observation; if we sign Adam this week that leave's almost two weeks until the international window opens. Given that KK will want to get his players in early and settled for a good pre-season then if we're going after local talent I'd expect us to do so this month. Otherwise if we don't move for Downing, Enrique, Wickham, etc.. this month, then we won't (unless after failing to get first targets post July 1st....)

I was told last night from a very good Bolton source that KK has made contact with Owen Coyle regarding Gary Cahill. Bolton are interested in cash plus players for the centre half...unfortunately Mr Coyle doesn't see any benefit from taking the suggested playing staff made available as part of the deal.

I can say with ABSOLUTE certainty that David Villa will NOT be leaving Barcelona this season, the signing of Rossi will just mean Villa will be used on the left, with Rossi in the centre, then after kickoff the front 3 would roam and cause havoc as they usually do. Just because Barca are signing players it doesn't mean they're planning to move their stars on, the most likely highish profile move could be pedro(maybe).

We bid 8.5m for Wickham, Ipswich evaluating offers. Jewell is lying flat out about offers for him. We are monitoring him very closely in the U21's (we've been sniffing throughout the season but really stepping it up now). Kenny rates him highly. French international Yann M'Vila has committed his future to Rennes, ending speculation of a big-money move to England or Spain.
The 20-year-old has been in fine form for the Ligue 1 outfit since signing for the club in 2009 and even forced his way into the French international set-up at the start of last season.
Real Madrid and Liverpool have been linked with a big-money summer move for M'Vila, who now has 10 international caps, despite the midfielder signing a contract extension until 2015 last month.
However, M'Vila has quashed any transfer rumours as he believes he is better off continuing his development in France as that gives him the best chance of playing at next year's European Championship.

Liverpool have not made a official bid for Adam Johnson. DC/KD were not interested before due to the high asking price, but now, after what has been said, LFC might try a punt soon. But like I said, there has been no official bid yet. I hope this will clear it all up Ed's.
