i have tried the seach but couldnt find anything to answe my question.. Eds how realistic is it to think that Affelay would be available and if he wouldeven want to join LFC? he surely has the speed and tecnique we need and hes he a liability in the sense of injuries ? {Ed001's Note - he is not likely to be available, they rate him highly, it was just injuries that kept him out. Keita is the one making way in the summer, I am told.}

Would a loan move be possible? {Ed001's Note - unlikely he will be available, Barca are looking to strengthen in the summer not deplete their ranks.}

15 May 2012 23:26:34
Eds am tired of people saying they heard kenny staying and going rumours I just need some good information it can u shed some eds {Ed001's Note - there is no good information right now. Kenny doesn't speak to anyone about work other than who he should. So it comes down to finding out from FSG, and they are very professional, so nothing much is leaking out there either.}

Great to have you back Ed001 {Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

Can anybody confirm it liverpool resigned the goalkeeper coach who worked with Rafa. I think his name is Varela(spelling) thanx
YNWA
Umaga(SA) {Ed001's Note - he was still contracted to Liverpool and was merely on gardening leave.}

Whats gardening leave? {Ed001's Note - just means he was still under contract to the club and getting paid to sit at home. Usually happens when a severance package can't be agreed and applies until the person finds another job or their contract expires. I believe that is why he left Inter, because they couldn't agree a deal with us to take him and we held him to his contract. At least that is how I understand it. I really hope we can persuade him to return, he is a fantastic coach and Pepe Reina has looked a much worse keeper without him.}

I think you'll find he went to inter and is on leave from them! {Ed001's Note - that's what I thought as well. But I was told I was wrong. It was an Italian sports journo who covers Inter that was adamant about it.}

Matt Jarvis a boyhood liverpool fan has stated his desire to join liverpool over tottenham and Everton. Fee looks set at around 5m with downing being allowed to join fulham

Stephen Hunt is also a boyhood Liverpool fan so buy him too while your at it.

Jarvis is defo a man u fan as a child 100% sure on that

He is no better than Downing. Walcott is also a Liverpool fan. Why not get him instead?

I'm a liverpool fan,i'm not doin nothing at the min

Jarvis is probably better that downing atm, downing has done nothing, anyone is better than downing with the form hes in.

15 May 2012 22:28:23
Hey there Eds, any idea if LFC have an interest in Nathan Redmond?

Thanks,
Amz {Ed001's Note - I don't know any more than we had him watched a few times, but that was before Comolli was removed. It could well be he was the source of the interest. I have to say, having watched him a lot, I hope so, because he was not looking a good buy to me. Seemed to believe his own hype, from what I saw.}

Sterling is better lets save our money spend it on Powell!

Square tomato

15 May 2012 21:10:20
Eds do you know of any interest in Steven Fletcher? Personally Id like to see him in a Liverpool shirt! {Ed001's Note - only from him, he would love the move, but I don't know of any interest from us.}

Steven fletcher is crap {Ed001's Note - scores goals though.}

Just because the man looks like a seventies tv cop don't hold it against him, he knows where the back of the onion bag is!

Decent buy I think. He'd be a nice reliable squad player. Would love to have him in Red.

15 May 2012 22:09:16
darren lewis from the mirror
said twitter is going to get busy in about a hour

wonder what he means
{Ed001's Note - probably means he is about to make something up, knowing the Mirror!}

Maybe because Ferdinand isn't picked for the Euros?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

It's cause the England squad is being leaked no rio walker crouch or Richard but Carrol in

It will be England squad news leaking out

I prefer Ed001's comment about The Mirror...they truly are an atrocious rag!

My wife has just called me from the west life concert. Had a good chat with any Carroll. Kenny is going nowhere. It's all speculation and lies. Kenny will be at the helm next season. Guarenteed

I can safely say Andy Carroll was at the Westlife concert as i have friends who went and seen him there themselves.

Story could check out i guess ?

JP

Haha fail your wife lies or andy carroll coz he is sacked :P {Ed001's Note - the players knew nothing about any of this.}

Reliable source has informed me that KK has indeed agreed change of role at the club having not been convinced of FSG's faith in him, whilst on their part, FSG have been exploring market for new manager over past 5-6 weeks. Expect announcement within next 24 hours and probably by tomorrow
Lunchtime.
The owl

You are ALWAYS wrong

Aren't you the same owl that everyone shot down? What makes you think we won't shoot you again?

Im sure you said that on monday too

The rest of us might get a 'taxi' if we're wrong but YOU need a taxidermist!

His handling of the Suarez affair and management of the team does not speak well for him. Under his management this time around, we got the worst home record since the 50's. When the owners supported him it was more to appease the fans and Hodgson did not get the backroom support. The owners wanted an improvement on our last position in the league and above all a champion's league place. Instead we bought the wrong players at inflated prices and even Newcastle and Everton are above us. We are some 35 points behind the top two. Even Wigan could get the better of us. Kenny's insistence on home grown British players backfired. As a player he will always be a legend. He left football management for a long time leave questions whether he is the right man to lead us. Get Rafa and Hyppia to lead us.

KK great man and a great player, not sure if hes got it in his tank to lead a top prem team now. This season a very well paid and expensive team were made to look average by teams that on a good day are no more than average by LFC standards. Facts are there for all, if KK is the answer then the guys in the top 4 must be laughing their socks off because never have i had to admit at some games this season against teams like west brom and wigan who were knocked out the cup by a div 4 team by the way i thought they have a chance here and that just should not happen.

Kennys transfer targets.

Clint Dempsey
Mohammed Diame
Shane Long
Matthew Jarvis
Chris Eagles
Scott Dann

Sorry guys don't shoot the messenger.

Realistic Red

With targets like that he is asking for the sack.

Yeah cos hes really gunna tell u his targets lmao...i very much doubt they will be his first choice targets

Not a single one of those players will get us top 4 football

No, I will shoot the messeger.....you are far from realistic.

Are you on smack

U sure they are not targets for newly promoted southampton? Lol. Dempsey or diame possible!

Dempsey - Yes, ok, he's quite a good player, useful to have around
Diame - We need a decent back up DM who would be willing to sit on the bench so OK
Long - Hmm, had a reasonable season but was a bit in and out
Jarvis - Recycled old news, no better than what we have really
Eagles - Wait a minute....
Dann - Seriously?

Aw man...somebody shot the messenger first...

Eds this is not me, shal i start leaving an email add?

My mate who is on the staff gave this insight......

King Kenny wasn't happy with all the media speculation in the papers and wanted to know what the truth was so brought forward the board meeting to this week.

KK basically said that if they wanted to sack him to do it now and if not to commit to his future as he was worried we would lose some of our top players.

FSG refused to commit at the meeting and wanted to understand his vision to take the club forward. They have basically agreed to publicly state their position after they have had a chance to review his presentation.

I think he'll get 1 more year .....but Henry is tempted by a younger manager.

One key point in the meeting was the handling of Suarez affair and the poor media relationship Daglish has which is damaging the club

Maybe they should get Hodgson bk then. They seem so inept at the minute. Ok so you're worried about the Suarez situation John and Tom? Jump on a plane then!!

Peter

How on earth would the media know more about Henry's opinion than Kenny. Loads of rubbish. The media makes up 90% of the stuff the write to make money.

Dalglish went over because he wanted everything sorted out quickly ie transfer funds to be made ready for targets, players leaving, director of football, plans for next season etc. He didn't fly over just to get the sack!

Every1 has got a mate at liverpool havnt they........

ste liverpool

Most plausible rumour on this site.

Bulls**t. Lifted straight from an article on KopTalk, which I might add, is no more authoritative than anywhere else!

Mate on the staff my arse!

Honestly, what do you get out of making stuff up. Very sad!

The simple truth is that nobody knows for sure. Even the vaunted Macca, who has people hanging on his every word, has been equally as wrong on players and the rest, as he's been correct. 'Macca' could be an ex-player or even know certain players, but one thing is for sure.. the players themselves will have no idea what's going on in the minds of the owners. The only people that could possibly have an inkling are those who are linked to anybody who's actually advising FSG right now.

All I would say is that if anybody who is happy winning the Mickey Mouse cup by beating a Championship Team on penalties, even missing a cople,finishing 8th in the league and in the process, loosing as many games as we won, well then you be happy! I'm certainly not! Another year? For the financial outlay, it's simply not good enough. If this was Hodgson, people would be baying for his blood. Let's stop all the sentimental crap, looking back to the past and judge the manager/players on the results. Everton and Newcastle spent a small fraction of the money we have lavished and finished above us.

Benitez? He had his chance. Alienated Alonso and lost Mascherano too. In his last season we ended up 7th. We've tried to turn the clock back with Kenny. It never works. We need a young, modern thinking manager, who's a winner. We need to start cutting out the dead wood and players who simply aren't good enough to take us forward such as Carragher (too old and always been average IMO), Spearing, Kuyt, Maxi, Adam and Downing, who's been abject. I'd give Henderson and Carroll, more time.

Matt

Not that different from what I was told further down (15 May 2012 18:19:37) RED LENIN

Let's all stop speculating and guessing what's goingin with KK. He is staying put for a further season and continuing his building shaping a squad young enough to go and win leagues. Oh and nobody in the club or the rent shop wrote this........little bit savvy wrote it!

Seriously...you guys buy an early morning edition trash paper and reveal its nonsense as if it's a real story...idiotic lies!

MATT....... it was a half descent post until you said Rafa lost Mascherano, Hodgson lost Monster Masch........lol......

NOW COME ON LIVERPOOL FANS.......... let us just all calm down, take a step back, inhale exhale........... i've watched every single game this season, every minute. I've supported Liverpool 32yrs. What I got a glimpse of last season and more this season under Dalglish is our change in style, fast passing, everyone getting a feel of the ball, and attacking style has changed. Yeah our league position doesn't lie. Though many games we have dominated and came away with nothing. The stats don't lie either... most shots at goal, most post/crossbar hit etc etc...... its just lacking that bit of luck. Over half a team has been drafted in. You expect them to all just slot in and gel?? Doesn't happen like that. Lucas Leiva 3 seasons to settle in, and now the cat callers rave about him. Martin Skrtel another, been a rock in my eyes for 2 seasons now(even under woy)...... Just look at even the best of them... Luis Suarez....... he had a prolific goal scoring record in Holland, but thats Holland not here. Kuyt was the same in Holland. Just please take time out to look at the squad and age of certain players..... we just need a little tweaking... maybe an out an out striker... but who is to say after watching Carroll in the last month or so... doesn't hit the ground running..... when the goals go in its easy.......when they don't its frustrating and you try harder, but also make it harder for yourself...... this happens in all walks of life.... ive been there in the football terms, if it doesnt go your way you try harder, but you also make mistakes easier. NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL you play at, its the norm. Especially if you're young like Henderson, Shelvey, Spearing, Carroll, Flanaghan, Kelly and Coates...... they need your support.

REMEMBER......... LIVERPOOL is a stalwart establishment in English football and old and young fans expect the expected every season, it doesnt happen like that...... yeah we have the history. We now lag behind a certain team, money wise and success wise. BUT it is in the early stages of us...... LIVERPOOL FC.. turning a corner..... re-building an empire....
ROME wasn't built in a day....... the signs are there...... yeah our league form results wise has been dyer..... two cup finals tho....... some fans may just pick up a paper, or look at the result(like most journalists) and think "yeah they lost they were s**te"..........theres more to the game than that, and i think we have played positive football and alot of results haven't reflected that. United finished 2nd but have been poor by their standards but ground out results........ obviously its all about results..... but you must admit they get the luck and decisions too...... teams fear them but shouldn't. Teams turn up at ANFIELD and its a special day for them, which makes them play that little bit harder. Knowing that we ain't at our best..... for NOW........... IT WILL ALL COME TOGETHER.............YNWA JFT96.

Absolutely agree with what matt has said, where was the 'support the manager' brigade when hodgson was in charge.

**********BIG NEWS*************

I have just spoken to my brother in law working as an ex pat in Boston as commercial manager for Four Seasons hotel.

He is convinced that a conference suite has been booked for a breakfast meeting tomorrow US time of 8:00-14:00 in the name Of "Werner - FSG."

If rumours are to believed then K.D WILL BE STAYING as this meeting is scheduled to outline the strategies for 2012/2013. There is a big focus on scouting at the Euros so those of you who claim to be in the know about KD being sacked are all lying!

You heard it here first.

Dawn Fradley YNWA - Super ISA *****

Why are most of the sites saying kenny has returned from the US ? long trip to go back for breakfast tomorrow

hi eds, whats the possibility of james milner leaving? think if city are willing to let him leave for a reasonable price then we should lead the chase {Ed001's Note - no idea right now sorry, nor do I see any reason we should be interested in him.}

No thanks, he can stay there. We need foreign players with flair and style, not more 'just sufficient' English players. (yes, I am English incase you go down that avenue!)
Milner is no better than anyone we already have (maybe spearing....)

I'd have Milner in my team before Adam, Spearing, Shelvey, Downing, Kuyt and Maxi, there is a few reasons why !

Why on earth would we want James Milner? He'd want too much money for very little talent.
KJS

Really Ed001, you would not like Milner at Liverpool? I think he is exactly the Houghton-esque right sided tucking in player that Kenny thought Jordan Henderson could be.

Anfield Rapstar {Ed001's Note - no, not in the same league for me. He has shown no improvement since he was about 21, when he should be getting better and better.}

So ed001 are you really saying you would prefer to keep the likes of adam, spearing and maxi over having milner in the team? i for one believe milner would be a bloody good signing depending on value and wages of course {Ed001's Note - I would rather have Adam, yes. He is on about a 3rd of the wages of Milner (a bit less in fact), Adam just needs to improve his confidence and stop deferring to everyone else. Milner offers nothing much, bit of workrate, lack of quality, not much pace, no real skill, no aerial presence, very little really any more. He just seems to have lost his way. It would be a big risk to take him on with his 100k+ wages. I just think the money would be better spent on a better player.}

Ed my mate who works at a bookies claims that theyve been told that martinez will be offered the job whether he takes it or not is n e ones guess.he also sed we have signed diame and rodallega as both on free.apparently ayre n dalglish were there on friday.when I questioned him he said they get their info the day before the public so they decide what bets to put on.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - bookies have no prior knowledge, your friend is winding you up, it is complete nonsense to suggest they get the info a day early.}

You obviously don't understand how betting works so stop making stuff up and then covering your story by saying "my mate told me"

Chris in Tamworth

How could they be in Boston when they were at the Swansea game on Sunday????

Can you ask your friend for tomorrows racing results please and thank you
sl

Honestly chris he was saying it on facebook to me I dont believe him at all just passing on what he said incase it was true.DORSET RED

This is utter BS i work for one of the big name betting companies and have a few friends high up in the company and i can guareentee we have no inside knowledge what so ever its all peoples opinions

I work for a bookmakers too, and I know for a fact that we never get any info prior to it happening. The most that happens is that the betting gets suspended, but that just means alot of money is being bet on it. So stop making things up pls.

According to Guillem Balague atletico madrid have put Falcao up for sale they're looking between €30m to €40m, come on FSG his the type of goal getter we need.

TheBA300

If he is truly up for sale, there's no harm in tabling a bid

Not for that much, u must be dizzy...
I can think of alot better players for that price...

More chance of platting fog pal.

Ozone

Now that would be a dream signing !!

Where did he say this?

He would not join Liverpool. His current club are far better at the moment.

The question is whether Atletico Madrid can manage to hold on to its Colombian high scores over the summer - even if it is less than a year since he was brought to the club as Sergio Aguero replacement.

Canal + expert on Spanish football, Petter Veland, believes Atletico Madrid are in reality powerless to Falcao future to be decided.

- Atletico Madrid owns only a third of Falcao. That way they can have an opinion and a voice, but no power over what happens, he says to Dagbladet.

- Mendes chose Atletico

Veland was obtained from the Spanish journalists and newspapers Marca and AS, where it has been written that the so-called "super agent" Jorge Mendes and his agent GestiFute company has the largest stake in Falcao. From before Mendes several big names in their squad including Cristiano Ronaldo, and he has been involved in some of the most remarkable transitions in recent years.

Among other things, he came suddenly as Bebe's agent shortly before he was sold to Manchester United for more than seven million pounds - a sum most football connoisseurs felt was beyond any sense.

- If Mendes wants to sell Falcao, Atletico are not entitled to comment. Falcao could have gone to Chelsea or Manchester City last season, but I just think Mendes was so cynical that he chose Atletico because he knew there would be a good club for him. Where has he been playing at an even higher level and proved that he certainly is ready to take the step now. Then Mendes negotiate in two major transitions, and that means more money in your pocket for his part, says Veland.

- If this is true, why has there been more attention to it?

- It has not been really blown up, and it has its explanation in people who are doing it. The Presidents of the respective clubs have a good relationship with Jorge Mendes, and they all have great power and status in Spain, even among those who work with football journalism. There are not many people dare or want to drag it out as negative. This information has never been confirmed, but there are many examples where the price of a player in Mendes-stables have been far greater than what one would think, and where it is clearly not been paid as much as it says on paper, says Veland.

I think Falcao ports in Chelsea

He mentions, among other things, Fabio Coentrao transfer from Benfica to Real Madrid for 30 million euros last year, and Pepes transition the same way in 2008.

- The official total was also there 30 million euros. It was hardly the real price, but was done so that the price would also be high next time, says Veland.

Although he thinks Falcao going to leave Atletico Madrid for this season, a season that so far has 23 goals in the league and 12 in the Europa League. In front on the top scorer in La Liga list is only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

- I have a gut feeling at Chelsea. In my eyes there are only five or six clubs that are relevant and can afford, he said.

In England he believes only Manchester City are able to give Chelsea match, but he has little faith that Barcelona or Real Madrid interfere.

- Perhaps Juventus or Bayern Munich need to be a possible destination. I do not think anyone other than them have capacity. Any Manchester United, but where there is hardly means a big transition, says Veland.

- How would you sum up his debut season in La Liga?

- If you take away Messi and Ronaldo, he is top scorer with 23 goals. It is almost half of the goals of Atletico Madrid. He has been extremely important to them, without them they would not have been close to qualifying for the Europa League via the league. They would have been closer to the lower half than the fifth they have now, he said.

After paying for him 40 mil. euros? Good business :P

I doesn`t matter what goalscorer we buy....we need a supply line ie a decent winger and another(Gerrard still the best but now perhaps injury prone) good pacey midfielder with penatration.Adam, Downing and Hederson in my view are average at best. Suarez and Carrol too ofter get isolated which is a major problem , and i do agree we need a world class striker, but blowing all the transfer kitty on one player is not the answer.Pinhead.

Yep, we can all dream.
example,
Villa is asking for Suarez availability.
LOL

Chelsea have offered Ł15m + Torres. It was on twitter yest from @agent_
Lee73

He said it on sky sports revista A Madrid CEO said after the Europa league final, if we get 30m/40m then we would sell him. He also said they only paid Fc Porto 20mill for Falcao.
Watch Revista on sky sports tonight 10:30
TheBA300
{Ed001's Note - Atletico only part own him, they might not have a choice.}

Straight swap for Suarez.

Who would pay 20mil for a player that they will only part own? this 3rd party ownership business should be banned. It's not fair on the clubs when the the 3rd party can force a sale every season and make millions each time. Although the clubs should think of that before they buy him I suppose.

Kenny and Steve are back from the states where they had to discuss what went wrong this season and share their vision for the club moving forward.

Kenny will be in the seat next season with three new players and five departures.

Intheknow

Steve Clarke is still over there

That must've been the quickest flight from the states by a civilian ever ?

This is what I have been told. The Board meeting should have been in a couple of weeks time and over here. Because of mounting press speculation etc Dalglish asked for it to be held early . because there wasn't much time and the board are American the meeting was moved to USA. At the beginning of the meeting Dalglish basically told the owners that if they wanted to fire him do it now. If they wanted him to resign then he would with immediate effect. he wanted to remain and needed the backing of the board. He told them tthat the decision needed to be made now with effect from now as preparations needed to be made for next season - including ins & outs - and dragging out changing managers would just distract matters, make it difficult to attract players and make other players more prone to leave - so no matter what the board decided, it had to take effect immediately. I do not know the outcome but the poeple that told me this belive (although they aren't 100%) that the board is backing him and he remains Manager. RED LENIN

Rangers fan here currently on holiday in California, ESPN were swirling rumours earlier Kenny was given the chop but over the last hour they now believe he will get another year.

Cheers Lenin

From Tony Barrett - kenny is back from US, Clarke stayed there to watch a game with Werner last night. Neither was sacked. The review of the season is scheduled to continue in UK next week. FSG asked kenny and Clarke to create a vision on the next progressive step for the club. Kenny is still scouting potential signings. Paul Dalglish has announced on twitter that he has made NO comments on anything to do with LFC.

Its a good job Paul's been boxed off with an agents job (the agency that represent Henderson btw ;) ) otherwise Kenny would be offering him a contract

2 players we should be looking at, Dempsey and Honda 2 great players that would give us goals and would help hit the Asian and American Market. Both reasonable priced a no brainer for me

Couldn't agree more, neither look likely atm though.

I couldn't give a monkeys about the Asian or American market. I want players who will win us the Premier League title.

^^^ calm down mate we need to get in top 4 first :L

Making money from the asian and american markets can surely only help in the quest for the premier league.

More revenue=better players

I agree we need more revenue to attract better players but at same time its pointless having that money if we dont at least challenge for a place in europe where the players can play at the highest level

No so sure about dempsey but I take honda anyday, the guy is very versatille

I like Dempsey quite a lot, but if he could 'help' with the American market, would there not be gobs of Fulham fans running around the US? For that matter, Brian McBride played for Fulham as well, and I still have yet to ever meet an American Fulham fan (although I suppose maybe there are one or two somewhere).

Seriously Dempsey....!!!!I really don`t get this one,,,,I thought we wanted a prolific goalscoring machine....is he one!??pinhead.

I'm an American football fan, and I know all of my friends support the American players - Ream & Holden (Bolton), Dempsey (Fulham), Donovan (on his random Everton stints), Spector (Birmingham), etc. I know that McBride was very popular in the U.S. and actually helped to increase interest in the Premier League because he played there.

Most American fans are looking for a team to support, and will find basically any reason to support a team. I have friends who have become Chelsea fans because they have had friends/college roommates who were fans, friends become Aston Villa fans because of their owner (who owns an NFL team), etc.

Basically, signing Dempsey would be a great move for Liverpool because many Americans are already becoming fans because of their owners, and having someone on the field who they know would be the next natural step in solidifying their fandom.

Thanks,

CSeiling

Great comments by CSeiling. Definitely agreed.

ed's what about a cheeky move for del piero? he's free right?

GawaRed {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Can u explain in detail how to make this 'cheeky' move.

He couldnt run five years ago and you think he could hack the pace of the prem?

Liverpool to sign Alessandro Del Piero on a free this summer.

He has got to be about 175 years old now! He was absolute class in his younger years I must say.
Bazzaa

Haha made my day this =D... He retired the other day btw. LOL.

The owners did not get Kenny to Boston to sack him, they wanted him for another season..

The only way he will leave is if there has been a fall out during the meetings..

I personally think that up until the Arsenal game we have played some of the best football seen at Anfield for a long time..

I also believe that if we change the manager it needs to be one that is world class and not a young up and coming (Rodgers or Martinez)..

Again things may change but up until the end of last season there was no way the club would have Rafa back because he wants total control, which i believe the Americans will not allow..

I personally would have him back but that is just my opinion..

I also believe we should get behind Kenny if he is still manager because he cares as much as us..

I believe the owners need to spend in order for us to compete..

Cheers

Macca

Thanks Macca. It has been one Hell of an afternoon. Agree with all you say.

Kev

You can't tell us fans to get behind a manager who I have no faith in. I spend 600 pound a year because I want the club to do well and I expect something in return. The problem is clearly kenny, i wouldn't trust him cutting my grass.

Far too much common sense there mate.

The way some people are going on you'd swear that the players couldn't pass the ball and kept running into each other on the pitch.

Agreed. Rodgers and Martinez may have big futures but they need to build on their career first.

The only manager I would have take over Kenny is Rafa tbh because he knows the club well already and the fact he is the only world class manager who would love to manage us

AZ

The news I've been wanting to hear.
Kenny needs time and backing.

A few additional players to strenghten squad and we will be back.

YNWA

Mr Slonk The Red

Yawn Macca with his Inside info still waiting for Benzema to sign from last summer

I agree with u macca...if kenny does decide 2 leave we can't take any risks with a young manager.... We practically need sum1 with alot of experience because being lfc manager wil by b a easy job

Spot on.... Cheers macca

Is this the real Macca? Either way cheers mate agree with you and I hope the owners are willing to spend top four finish next year? unlikely but maybe the year after and then we can slowly make our way back to what we were once before

Andykop {Ed019's Note - It's the real Macca}

O come on look how much raffa spent and what we got back not good fact,he is a good man but makes some very very very poor buys million's wasted.for me i just hope he does not come back.walk on,jay essex red for life,red till dead

Macca,
I pray your information is correct. At last something positive to read here, and a sign that the owners are more astute than some of the so-called supporters on this site, who have been baying for Kenny's head like a lynch mob.
A cause for celebration...
Regards,
DJP

Cheers macca, update much appreciated. I too would have Rafa back but kenny remains our manager as things stand and he deserves nothing more than our total support whilst that remains the case- the man has done more for our great club than any other and he deserves more respect than to be hounded out

Macca you are a legend !! ynwa

collins

Hi macca totaly agree with everything u said i would love rafa back thing is people say he wasted money but he didnt rick parry did rafa had deals set up for villa and silva but parry messed it all up same on several signings either to slow or bought who he wanted robbie kean. wat im saying if there is money to spend u can garrantee rafa would spend it alot better then kenny thats were the problem lies with the owners do they trust him to do this cause they will spend they have proven this with boston and liverpool. and some of are football this season has been out of this world but we cant keep saying we were unlucky so macca if u had the choice who would u go with i would hate to see kenny have one more year and fail even further and the fans turn on him but on the other hand he could easily turn it all around cheers macca edds can answer this to.

mike {Ed019's Note - I would go with someone like Bielsa, Emery or AVB if Kenny were to leave}

Some fans with short memories here. We were on the brink of relegation when Kenny took over, he's trying to bring back pass and move football and I reckon he can sort our problems which is mainly just a regular goal scorer. Kenny was given a 3 year contract to build a team, I'd like to see him have that time to do it! If you want instant glory you should start supporting man city.

Didn't we play bolton before arsenal and exposed our weaknesses? How many hoe matches did we win even before arsenal match? we did not have european fixtures like other top clubs. then why did we get tired? keeping kenny is going to take us to a disaster and the fans will be held responsible for this.

Have to say I'm glad. There has been a ridiculous media witch hunt this season for both him and the players and I would love to see him come back next season and ram it down their throats with a big push up the table. I would be happy with top 4 over any cups, then you can start to attract the big names agin.

Barrypool

Why do we always need to spend money again and again? we have spent 100 mil an got us no where! we need the team we have to play right! hate it when all we do in crisis is spend more money and end up looking like laughing stocks! the blues across the park spend next to nothing and i hate to admit have a much better team than us bar 1 0r 2 positions! bad times a head for us i think if we carry on with supposid KING KENNY! ynwa

Ive heard he stormed out of meeting dont want to back him with anymore major funds close mate or what love your info keep it coming

To the chap above stating "still waiting on Benzema to sign from last summer" If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. We all know Macca does have some credible info. And we all know that transfers can be hit and miss. We are grateful for his info and his opinions. A few decent signings and a few exits, Jay spearing preferably as he is not up to scratch and we should have another good season
Redman87

Just throwing it out as a question but how many managers have taken a team from bottom half team into a multi cup/league winning team within 1 season?, look at the players Roy started with and look who is playing for lfc now? Man city have spent what? 500-600 million in the last 3-4 years, have managed 1 cup, been embarrassed at the top level, and finally managed to win the league, when will people realise?! If kenny is still spending and failing by the end of the season after next I would expect him to be gone...patience...

Lfcmatt

I would also love rafa back mate i was working in his weeks ago lovely fella makes a great cup of tea its come to my attention lately though he would not fancy carroll any truth to this

I agree totally with you .Kennys only downfall is that he is very stubborn...honestly every man and his dog knew what should have been the cup final line up.It took a forced hand for him to play it..Players like Henderson etc sometimes you can't just play and play them till they come good.You could be off the pace by then..Wenger is a great great manager but how long do you percivere without proper success.Todays football is success now .Even Fergie next year if he wins nowt will be hounded by his own fans who are more fickle than any other club.smf

I simply cannot believe that there are still people who doubt Macca and the Ed's. Ok, they may not get everything right but that would simply be impossible. The fact that the majority of what they say happens is evidence enough that they are in the know. I for one would like to thank you all for giving me something to be addicted to. Enough of my brown nosing now though...

I know this has been a hard season for us (real) fans but there has been promise within the club. I know the Carling cup isn't exactly highly regarded anymore but it's a definite plus. Reaching the final of the FA cup as well, not bad for his first full season in charge. Ok the league position is terrible but the performances have improved since Kenny joined. A club like Liverpool (one not owned by billionaire sheikhs) don't challenge for the title over night, it's a project, and it's one that I am personally very excited about.

The future is only going to get brighter reds and I for one would rather that than buying the league!

100% Cotton

Yes we have played some pretty football a lot of the time but mostly ineffectively because we were tactically inept.If we carry on with the same management team and same tactics we will be disappointed again next season. Not saying the problems were all down to Kenny but he has to change something significantly if we are to improve as much as we need to.
CR

We are badly divided , half of us wants kenny to stay and the other half wants him to leave , personally i like kenny he's an legend of the club and i was really excited when he joined to be manager but people we have to think with our heads not our heart , we finished 8th for heaven sake that's just appalling , i dont know with that same style of football the players are producing i can't take it any more , its so much boring and negative football , i wouldn't have cared if we play this way as long as we got the results but we can't even get results , i'm sorry but the best thing for this club is to bring someone like rafa to liverpool or try to get pep guardiola in , just my opinion

Y N W A

Cheers Macca, hope Kenny stays and agree with you on Martinez/Rogers.

AG

Rafa is a joke we are still trying to get rid of aquilani, rafa wrecked the club . he can never be manager again

majestic69

I'm surprised alot of people want rafa back. was he not the one who started the bad spell of play, forced alonso out for wanting gareth barry and complained about not getting enough money when he had enough to buy top class players like Torres but wasted money on the likes of robbie keane.

Lucky Kenny, the only manager in the world that gets judged on his team trying to play good football (which hasnt been as good as the fans think ) rather then results and league position. Worst position in over 50 years and many more unwanted records broken. As many defeats as wins.
People need to differentiate between kenny the man the legend and kenny our manager. And before anybody says I'm anti kenny or anything I'm not I love the the man and the legend. But Kenny our manager is tactically inept, the players brought in were HIS signings nobody else's, doesnt seem to have a plan A let alone a plan B. Crazy team selections and even more baffling use of substitutes.

IF he stays i'll support him to the hilt like I would any manager of my club, I just personally dont think he has it in him and he's been found out by the entire league.

Dodge

They have spent, and over the odds for players that have underperformed. We're in a unlucky situation where we have to assemble a team of players that would come to a club not in the CL. Limits what we can do but we have spent big money on players that were never worth it to begin with. Mike Ashley might not have been the most popular man in Newcastle last year when he sacked CH and hired AP but how did he get 35m for Carroll? Best piece of business ever.

I personally want Dalglish gone, we played amazing stuff last year when he came back, probably since he didn't have any time to sign his own players. We played amazing stuff when we hammered Fulham with Kuyt, Maxi and Suarez in tandem but Maxi and Kuyt don't play. I think the way he's treated Kuyt is shocking considering he was our top goal scorer last season and has proven he's a good winger.

I'd take Rafa back in a heart beat if he signed termination fee waiver. Agree realistic targets if he meetings them great, if not bye, bye. He keeps saying how much he wants to manage us again, this would be a fair way for him to prove it.

Thanks Macca, always appreciate your posts.

I have thought for a while, Kenny needs 2/3 more decent players to achieve what he wants and with luck with injuries and suspensions/bans things would go a lot better. He needs time, not the boot. If things are really going wrong at Christmas, then maybe could think again then, but in the meantime, let's support Dalglish and the players. Keith

We all agree Liverpool needs to rebuild the team and it only started last season.....how long did it take old whiskey nose to get them challenging for the league? Wasn't done in a season....lets just be patient and support Kenny for what is a very difficult job Kirby 11

@Original poster...SPOT ON MATE!...
1.Most Fans forget that inability to score(which has solely cost us the points) is not KK's fault...
2.The players taking time to gel and work the ball to the other end isnt either.

I agree KK played a part to some extent but not all of it is down to him. Positive results give players motivation and this was lacking big time..he failed to lift them up and give them belief in some games when it was just not working day in day out. KK is a fan and a manager, his tactics and selections were desperate(in some games) at most after January, he was trying hard to change things for the fans as he felt the pain of a fan.

What ever he has to learn am sure he has his notes taken down. He has to come better next season.

Yes we've spent loads of cash, but getting another manager means we will have to spend even more from KK's contract cancellation to new managers' signings as he may not take up KK's project.

I strongly believe Handerson,caroll, and downing will come good next season. The rest can go. A new manager may lock the gains these players have accrued thus far and opt for replacements, forcing us to cut our losses very soon on these players, instead of waiting till they have given back what we paid for them(which is a hell lot of money).

I concur with the idea that in case KK goes...We should only get a world class manager to get us far and improve the attractiveness of the club to players short term & longterm as we have not much bargaining chips left.

Thanks Macca, the person behind the second reply needs to go and support Chelsea he will fit right in there.

As for your comments about Rafa, arnt the owners giving Kenny pretty much the control Rafa would crave? Personally I wouldnt mind him back but would probably rather see Kenny in for at least another season.

The question is macca, do you believe they will spend. For me I think the football kk plays has been good however the signings are very poor. If he stays I hope they get a good director of football in with alot of influence across Europe. I'm not sure I trust kk with more money, he seems to like British who are not value for money at the moment.

B law

Thanks macca, really impressed with how accurate your knowledge is, keep up the good work mate, someone said 8th is appalling and get rafa back but have people forgot that in his last season we finished 7th, or the fact that he went to mourinhos treble winning inter milan team and cos the man is stupidly stubborn and believed he was a better coach than jose, he tried to change everything at inter at guess what failed misreabley, i did like rafa but am now starting to hate him, rafa had his chance at this club and blew it, king kenny all the way ynwa

Love how people say Kenny needs more players & to be backed with more money - how much money should we give him? He was backed with an unbelievable amount of money last summer & a lot of the players he bought haven't delivered. Adam is not LFC standard. Downing has been poor although his stats have not been helped by Dalglish's penchant for taking off Downing to bring on Carroll which makes so much sense to take of the supply. Henderson has received a lot of criticism which is unfair in my opinion, as Kenny has often chose to play him wide right when he's clearly a central midfielder. Suarez is clearly a fantastic talent but he isn't & never will be a lone striker. Carroll has played well in last part of the season & will hopefully continue to progress next season. As the saying goes 'the table doesn't lie'. We have lost as many games as we have won, have only won 6 games out of 19 at home & have had one of our lowest goal returns ever in the league. This has resulted in us finishing 8th which is our lowest league finish in over 50 years - a season in which we were relegated. I will support him as long as he's LFC manager & he will ALWAYS be a legend who has done so much for both the club & city of Liverpool. But let's not pretend last season was good. 8th should never be acceptable at LFC. I think he will get another season but there must be progress in the league. I will definitely support him & the team as I always do but we can't keep slipping down the league as there'll come a point where the gap is irretrievable. Other clubs like Tottenham / Man City / Arsenal / Man Utd / Chelsea / Newcastle are all going to strengthen & the clubs in the CL will find it easier to attract players especially with the increased revenue. The CC was nice & I understand the idea that LFC exists to win trophies but no top class player is going to join LFC because we won that trophy - top class players look at where you finished in the league & if you can meet their ambitions. Next seasons a pivotal one for both Dalglish and LFC. Let's hope we can pull some masterstrokes in the transfer Market & find players who will improve the quality of the first team. Hopefully next season proves to be onwards and upwards for the club. Bex :)

I spend 600 pound a year because I want the club to do well and I expect something in return.
===============================
Do you think that you're the only one mate. Like many others I spend a hell of a lot more than that travelling over to games with family. However that's what being a fan means - taking the good with the bad and still turning up for more.

What right have you to make demands on any team? You can wish for better results, signings and performances but, like the rest of us, the most that you can demand is that your seat holds your arse when you go to sit down.

Rafa back. Anyone who says this must be a fool. For crying out loud - he had his time and he did not deliver the goods. Don't even think about bringing up the Champions League - Gerrard won that almost single handed - Rafa was a passenger. It is because of Rafa we are in this mess. Losing players like Alonso and buying players Aquilani. Success takes time, swapping your manager every year is not the answer. Granted some of Kenny's decisions this season have been poor but the backbone for a team that can challenge is there. Let's not panic. He'll learn from this season and we will improve. Can't get any worse :-)

I agree we played some greta football this season

Macca you made my day,And for what its worth i for one thank you for the info you put on this site.If kd had being sacked it would of being the first time i would be ashamed to call myself a liverpool fan, yes kd needs a lesson in pr but his heart is in it and i would hate to see us sacking managers and changing players to suit the new manager everytime.Isnt great to see a manager turning to the fans each time we score worth anything imo.
Eam.

I am sure we have made a record this year - with some "brilliant football" we have finished 40 points behind the top 2, 20 points behind the top 4 and only 15 points above drop zone.

"this is not manager's fault, what he can do if the players dont play good" - excuse me who brought all these player?
"no no they are all very quality players please give them time to gel". I am sorry again, how many of the players in the Arsenal and Newcastle are new recruits?

ok fair enough let's put all the blames on luck, woodworks and rafa benitez!

I bet most of these so called "fans" were calling for Kenny to get the job, now they want him out cause they think that'll make everything perfect. How do we know a different manager with a big reputation will do any good, anyone remember AVB? I will back Kenny to the end, the man was there through the good times and more importantly, the bad. The Kenny doubters need to wake up and have faith in Mr. Liverpool, AKA our hero, King Kenny.

Gibzkit

Thanks Macca.

What I realize in the last 3 seasons is not the problem with the manager (barring Hodgson). The problem is our inability to perform under pressure. we tend to buckle under pressure. the season was on target till the arsenal game. That was our first loss at Anfield this season in all competitions and thereon started the downfall.

I am hoping the team psychiatrist can bring the mentality back to win under pressure.

Kenny is the only man to take us forward

Kenny will turn it round, you'll see..
It's some of the players that have let the club down.
Lee73

Thanks for the update Macca and it is interesting to note your stance on Benitez. I asked you whether his return was a total no-no, a couple of days back as I know Ed001 isn't a fan of his. Has Kenny been instructed to retain Dirk / Maxi or is that yet more waffle being served up by the waffle mongers? Anyway, here's to getting right behind Kenny, ironing out the kinks and having a good crack at 2012/13.

I think some of our tactics and team selection this season have been shockingly poor. Having said that, I think the owners are in a difficult situation. How will fans react if he is fired - especially if successor does not work out?

The current division among the fans is probably exactly why FSG were not eager to hire Kenny in the first place. If he succeeded - great. If not . . .

I agree maca the football we played at home for most of the season was breathtaking. then after the arsenal game kenny started to play youngsters because we effectively had nothing really to play for, that shows dalglish's loyalty to lfc as he was willing to finish poorly take the sack for the benefit of lfc's future. i think we will all be glad that shelvey, sterling and henderson got played this year in a few years time.
cheers maca
derryred

So many fans cant but see through their rose tinted glasses its unbelievable. If he stays I hope he doesnt get a penny to spend, he'll only waste it again on overpriced rubbish and we'll be bottom half next season but these fans will blame it on anyone or anything rather then Kenny.

And that poster that said its Rafa's fault that we are where we are!! Oh dear lord

A fall out, what is it about?

We should also look to players like Hoilett as he is available. Barnetta is also available on free

Lord of the rings stuff

Never gonna happen. as much as we want it.

Yes this'll happen because FSG think your opinion is the most important thing...Jesus, my head has not lifted far from the clutch of both my hands today.

Your dreaming m8, we'll be lucky to get even one of those, owners are believed to want players on the cheap

Not gonna happen mate. De Jong and Susaeta maybe.

We wont sell downing and we wont spend that much on players or get that many...we might get about 4 i'd say.

Forget about the Kenny rumours just heard from someone Skrtel going to etihad A Johnson coming other way as the have also tied up hazzard

No he is not, stop telling porkies

Put the pipe down son.

I'd take that!

Ive always rated Agger over Skrtel and we have Coates, Wilson & Wisdom coming though with Carra to cover.

I've not kept up with the Youth side recently. How is Wisdom getting on, anyone? Eds?

Cheers

Red G

That wouldn't be bad deal

Would like johnson though but no sktel not ging anywhere.

Skrts has just extended his contract!

I also heard this from somebody who works at a certain bookmakers not that they know but am just saying i dont think the op is lying just that he/she has genuinly heard that. CRAIG

I heard the skrtel rumour today but the bluenose that told me said he was goin to utd ha

The cherry picker

Yesterday it was Johnson and Ł25million for Skrtel. That's deflation for you.

Yeah lets swap our player of the season for a player who starts for city once in a blue moon!Behave. Skrtel has been the only consistent defender we`ve had all season and even though technically Agger is better his bones are made of butter so he misses every other game.....by allmeans try and get Johnson but please keep Skrtel!Pinhead.

Xavi Valero offered the job back at Liverpool.. most probably meaning a new/former manager is in line to take the hot seat. My guess would have to be Rafa!

It does not mean anything of the sort.

Probably more to do with John Achterberg getting his marching orders and Valero being a top class goal keeping coach who has worked with Pepe before.

Get Valero in as GK coach, Pako back as fitness coach and Rafa as Manager....sorted.

Why stop at turning the clock back to the Benitez era? Why not go back even further to 1990 when we have a team worthy of the name? We could talk Kenny out of resigning the first time and we could nip the Utd revolution in the bud. We could also collect every set of winning lottery numbers and put the proceeds into the coffers for future transfers.

In Kenny we trust, love Rafa but he has had his time!

Any truth to the rumours that we are looking at Andrea Pirlo on a 1 year contract?

15 May 2012 14:46:27
Eds do you think that these players would cut it in the prem as i hope that we sign them up

Luuk de Jong (FC Twente striker) scored bag load of goals
Eljero Elia (Juventus winger) great player before his move to Juventus. Played in a world cup final for his country which must prove something
Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow midfielder) has a great range of passing on him, a great free kick and would help with tapping into the Japan market
Milos Krasic (Juventus winger) Seemed to be wanted by most clubs before his move to Juventus. Has a great amount of pace that would destroy defenders on the counter

Mark the Red {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

I'd add Afelay to that list for a bargain Ł5-7 million.

Hi ed....
We were linked with deschamps a while back. Just wondered how you rate him as a manager? He didn't seem to do that well with marsaille lady year? {Ed002's Note - Yes there were links. I like the guy and he is available. This has been a poor year for Marseille but generally he has done well.}

More than a link.

We actually approached him before Woy. Or at least that's what he said happened, anyway.

Thanks eds you guys are great, maybe he'll be the one to go for if Kenny goes

Ed002;- Not having a go in anyway, but my observation is that same comments could be said for KK this year? {Ed002's Note - Sure. Some would argue that Didier has not spent vast funds. I wouldn't bother.}

Deschamps has had a bad year. KK has had a bad year. Why swap one for the other? Keep the stability and building and keep KK.

Eds, is it possible that Downing or Adam could be sold in the Summer? I still can't believe how awful Charlie has been at set-pieces this season. {Ed002's Note - I really don't know there is a plan to sell either.}

I'd say it's unlikely we'll be actively looking to sell them (although we may be open to offers), another season like this one though and that will change.

I'd rather Adam go

Happy for adam to go, he'll still fetch 5m from a premier league team and he's filled a gap. Either bring back Aquaman (unlikely) or look for a young foriegn talent (to keep the cost lower) and work with the new CM, Hendo (keeping him away from the RW) and Shelvey mixing with Gerrard and Lucas.

Downing is a great player and, i have to admit, he needs to improve a little bit. adam, on the other hand, can go. he has been apalling since we signed him from blackpool.

Adam has the most assists for us this year and he missed ten games it was his first year why not give him a chance in fact he was in top ten players for assists and u want rid of him

Charlie would have been far beter at set pieces this season had he been given the responsibility to take them on a regular basis!! Instead its standing in the shadow of Gerrard....Gerrard hasn't exactly been perfect either but woebetied anyone who messes a set piece up if he doesn't take it!! Same with general play...Charlie just pass it to me (Gerrard)

15 May 2012 13:49:51
Eds do you know if we are interested in Mathieu Valbuena? {Ed002's Note - Valbuena was for sale over the summer last year and there was interest from several clubs, with Arsenal showing some interest the previous year - due to a enquiry via Jose Anigo that was pushed back at the time. There was also speculation in France that Arsenal would make an approach to Marseille to take Valbuena as a replacement for Nasri but that never happened. Right now the player is not looking to move and Marseille are not looking to sell unless a significant offer were made to tempt them. There is no interest from Liverpool.}

Paddy Power report Rafael Benitez is being backed off the boards for a return to Liverpool after they suspended betting on a possible departure for Kenny Dalglish.

Speculation is raging that Dalglish won't see out the day as manager at Anfield and Paddy Power pulled the plug on his departure after punters drove down his exit odds to just 5/4 from 7/4.

Despite a spell at Inter Milan, Benitez still lives in the area and the Spaniard has been backed down from 33/1 to just 4/1 second-favourite.

Rafa Rafael Rafa Rafael rafeal Benitez .... bring the champions lge back

Powers will always come with something like this, dont forget they are in the business of making money i would also like to point out that they have gerard at 33-1 for the same job !!

Rafa's the only guy I'd be happy with to replace him.

Jamie carragher

Your own post says he is 5/4 to leave well that means hes odds on to stay in other words the bookies think he is staying

Benitez can be backed into short odds favourite if people want, but it won't sway FSG's decision one way or the other.

I really hope that all those foolish enough to believe that Rafa the plastic messiah is making a second coming,will back it with everything they can spare.

Kenny Dalglish has left the post of Liverpool football clubs manager
just heard from a pretty reliable source, i hope hes wrong though
Jaydee YNWA

I hope its right! Kenny tactics have failed all season long! Struggling against all teams except the chelsea and Everton bench warmers! Basically, spent over Ł100m for an 8th place finish! Not good enough, no matter who you are! He cant hide behind his KK status.

15 May 2012 13:44:56
All bets for Kenny to be the manager next season suspended, looks like he's going. Chippy

Surely if the bets are suspended on him STAYING they think he will be staying. Thus the bookies not having to pay out any more

Why do people think bookies are in the know?

Because they can lose a lot of money if they are wrong or clueless. Matter of incentives. {Ed001's Note - and? They just base it on who bets on what, not on any knowledge of the situation. If lots of money goes on something, they lay off the bets with another bookmaker. When they can no longer lay their bets, then they close the book on it. It is that simple. Nothing to do with inside knowledge.}

15 May 2012 13:28:01
eds, any chance of signing gattuso, quality defensive midfielder, and a free agent, could add experience in that position {Ed002's Note - I can't see it.}

Have you not read gerrards book ? gerrard hates him with a passion . training would be fun to watch .

trev d

No no no please NO.

Read Gerrards auto-biography! Gattuso will not be signing.

Yeah play the pussy cat along side Stevie.

You have got to be kidding me. Do you even watch football?

Forgot about that, good player though

Sweet Jesus it's getting worse!

15 May 2012 13:12:05
Is liverpool still interested in Lucas Moura, with chelsea pulling out it is down to lfc or inter. We need a player of that quality! {Ed002's Note - Moura will not be moving to Liverpool.}

15 May 2012 13:11:36
ed's, do you reckon we would be interested in reo-coker? probably better than adam, and free {Ed002's Note - I don't know but I will tempt the wrath of the fans and say no.}

A sack of polished coal would be a superior midfielder to Adam (a lot more mobile), that said I don't think Reo-Coker would be a good idea.

No chance of reo coker all the time bellamy is there and i for one would not give up bellamy for another mediocre player

Reo coker not fit to lace adam`s boots!

Reo-Coker? Too ridiculous to even make a statement.

WHAT?!?! Ed002, how could you ruin the dream for us?? Nigel Reo-Coker is the answer! I thought it was nailed on!

Reo Joker? These rumours are getting more embarrassing than the Aguero, Hazard ones....

Richards

Amazing ! Why don't we try and tempt Grham Kavannagh and Seth Johnson out of retirement !! We could also lure James Beattie away from Sheff Utd ! They should hire you as Comoli's replacement !

ED 02

Your take on FFP

Do you believe if LFC fans are patient that FSG will build a strong base that will allow us much greater clout under the new regs? As surely the fan base and comercial revenue with LFC would be hard for many clubs to match.

Would love to hear your opinion. {Ed002's Note - I would not have thought the FFP rules are a driving factor right now. The rules will come in to try and level the playing ground but in reality it will only hit those teams that consistently struggle to keep spending in line with income (Chelsea, PSG, Malaga, Manchester City, Palermo (from this year) and Anzhii who don't care). Real Madrid, Barcelona and other with significant debt have less of a problem as payments on existing debt is included. Juventus will spend this year with Inter needing to sell to buy and exchange players - they expect to settle. Manchester United are excluded as their inclome is so high they will be a don't care to a certain extent. Liverpool will need to reduce spending still but I don't see it being a major issue. The rules will be applied from June 2014 but it will be 2017/2018 before any serious punishment is meted out - and there remains the breakaway threat. I would not worry too much - at least mot yet.}

Thankyou much appreciated reply ED 02

Bringing Xavi Valero back as GK coach would be a great decision. Reina loves him.

Jack Wells Ź
Rumours circulating that FSG have not sacked Dalglish, but that Kenny has in fact offered his resignation.

R-R

What's a "jernalist".

And Kenny resigning getting fired's been doing the rounds for more than 2 hours with no confirmation, or no "there will be a press conference at time X" coming out of the club. Very odd.

If Dalglish leaves, he will leave with dignity. Same like any Liverpool managers before him. He will always be the King. He saved us from relegation, brought us the 1st trophy in Wembly since dog years. I'm sad to see him go but nobody can question his commitment and love for the club. I hope he will still be working for LFC and I'm sure FSG will never forget how he risked his reputation to come back.

15 May 2012 12:52:31
LFC have "nothing to comment on as it stands" in light of rumors surrounding Kenny Dalglish's managerial future.

Well from the silence I think a 5 year old could have come up with your statement...

15 may 2012 12:50:41
really concerned that we'll have a less of a chance of signing players over teams such as united, arsenal, chelsea spurs and maybe even newcastle. losing out on people like belhanda, ramirez really worries me. but a fews lesser signings we might be able to make

moses
hoilett

Moses, hoilett and sesegnon for me

hi eds you claimed skrtel wanting to leave was a load of BS but on ssn website his agent has admitted he wants talks with liverpool before making a decision hopefully he wont leave his the best defender we have who we surely cannot afford to lose {Ed002's Note - I don't know which Ed told you that. I said I knew not whether he had handed in a transfer request or not. Please don't tar us all with the same brush.}

I werent tarring you all with the same brush but i honestly cant remember what ed said it so fort that maybe the ed who originally said it might answer

Read the full post on sky sports, it says he wants to see the aims of the club and will talk about getting a new contract, stop stiring

Isn't the '2 years left on the deal' time usually when new contracts are discussed? This doesn't really look anything more than Skrtel's camp posturing to open talks.

Skrtel is agood defender but he can easily be replaced, theres been many a time this season hes been at faukt foe stupid goals and didnt look as strong when not partnered with Agger who is amuch better defender when fit. I dont want him to leave but if he does he wouldn't be assured of a starting place in any of the top teams placed in the champions league. Had lucas or agger not got injured, I think they would of beat him to player of the season.

Skrtel is so much better than agger.

Oh give the lad a raise....

with everyone mentioning de jong being linked with the club as david texiera (spelling) been forgotton as i understand we were interested in january?

We werent it was another texiera

The reports said we were after texiera who plays for fc gronigen (spelling) and unless there is another texeira who plays for the same club that could only mean david texeira

Sigh. As far as I can remember, we were never interested in David Teixeira from Groningen FC.

We were, in fact, after Joao Teixeira, whom we captured from Sporting Lisbon. I believe the less reliable 'sports news' websites saw the name Teixeira and the low age and put 2 and 2 together.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

First time posting here, my dads a head one of the head youth scouts at Liverpool and hes been informed daglish is stepping down as we all knew and martinez and capello are 2 of the names henry has talked about coming in, either way diame and moses will sign and shelvey and coates will be sent out on loan one to a prem side and one to a championship side

Not Moses please

Why would we sign a player Diame with cronic heart problems that have caused 2 of his previous moves from other clubs only for wigan to take a gamble?

My mum makes sandwiches at Melwood and she's been sitting in on all the board meetings, all the training session, all the financial meetings and knows every last detail about transfer ins and outs over the next few months.

Tippers

Haha why is everyone so aggressive, all im doing is passing on what a family member has told me

I wasn't aggressive... Just saying that my cousin Billy, whilst emptying the bins at Melwood, was told that Kenny has in fact been sacked... They thought it best to tell him first so that he had time to tell me and I had time to release that information to liverpool-rumours.co.uk before the press got hold of it. Makes perfect sense... How's your homework coming along?

Belhanda is not going to Liverpool, he is a back up choice to Hazard for United and City. As well as seriously interesting Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal. As well as Bayern Munich.

Elm is wanted by Man United, with Fergie said to see Elm as the natural successor to Carrick.

Luuk De Jong is on Arsenal's radar, Tottenham's radar as well as Inter Milan being in two minds about taking the striker, among other clubs.

I'm a little worried that we'll be shunted to the back of the que for our main targets.

I'm hearing Cardoza (29th birthday in 5 days) and Berbatov (31) are being lined up, although that was via a football website, so let's hope it's not true.

Before all the delusional fans call me a Man Utd fan, or Chelski fan etc. No i'm truly not, i'm a Liverpool fans since i was very little, with my Father being a Celtic fan just for reference.

So if we end up with secondary targets, such as last season when we missed out on Ash Young and signed Stew Downing instead, or missing out on Phil Jones and going for Seb Coates, it's because players and agents are getting more desirable destinations and offers.

Coates will be better than Jones although Jones is more versatile

Whats wrong with coate jones had a rush of blood at the start of the season because he signed for united and he soon went quiet didnt he

Nothing is ''wrong with Coates''.

I also personally believe Downing will come good for us and i think if we keep Coates for the long haul, he'll become a lynch pin in our defence.

But neither were our first choice signings. Which is the point i have made and i believe this will be a major problem for us, in this transfer window coming.

I personally believe on performance this season, Phil Jones has played much more football and has had a much more positive season than Coates.

Jones was a major part of United's defence that finished 2nd to the champions only on goal difference.

Jones looks forward to starting in a team that will play Champions League football, Coates looks forward to being on the bench for Europa league football.

Coates has been part of a Cup winning team, which is a huge positive for Coates i'm sure, both are in their first seasons in top clubs, so only time will tell.

I doubt if Downing will come good. He has been turning in the same sort of stuff for years.A bit to old to suddenly show massive improvement.

Jones was not a major part of United's defence in the slightest. As soon as their defence was fit he was kicked out. Evans was even put ahead of him when he wasn't seen as top quality.

There is NO official confirmation at this time.

Apparently offered him a tour of their training ground...

KKM {Ed002's Note - Yes. There is confirmed interest in Belhanda from Inter, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG and there is unconfirmed interest from Roma. The player says he wishes a move to Italy or Germany with Bayern Munich or Dortmund or to play for PSG if Italy Germany is not possible (seems he is not really sure where he wants to move to). A price of 30M euros has been quoted by Montpellier.}

KK is staying!! Belhanda, Ramirez, and Luuc De Jong will be the signings.

How do you know?

Is there any truth in the rumour that we could actually get rid of Spearing, even for a smallish fee? A semi-reliable source reckons another PREMIER LEAGUE club are interested, but I just can't see it.

And your source to this info is??

Breaking news from koptalk kenny has left lfc

Unconfirmed reports that KK has been SACKED

I do not believe that Kenny has been sacked, I do believe that their is a possibility that he could have offered his resignation, only time will tell but I sincerely hope that he has been given another year and if not I sincerely hope that they don't appoint Rafa,

Oh! If Dirk actually said that quoted on the papers. I think he is defo leaving can't see him playing at Liverpool next season with Kenny incharge. Almost no chance.

Unless he already knows Daglish is out? Also he is right. He is not getting the time he deserves and i am a daglish supporter

I also think he knows kenny is leaving.

There is every chance neither will there next season.

Dalglish has gone. Hit news later today.

~Al~

Koptalk
koptalk sources claim kenny dalglish has been axed by fsg. no official confirmation.

Am hearing the same

For those who think FSG may not sack Dalglish, these are the stats they will no doubt be aware of:
8 league defeats in last 12
6 defeats in last 7
Relegation form of 8 points out of 36 since turn of the year
3 defeats in a row twice in two months
Work home record since 1953
5 lowest goalscoring record in the league
Outscore by Blackburn Rovers, same league goals as Roy Hodgson's West Brom
Failure to achieve the stated goal of finishing in the top 4

Diggler

Dalglish has gone to the USA? Thats old news now!

Got to say the stats are not good KK has some explaining to do

KopTalk, the source of all valid information.

It's not even 7am in Boston yet. Are we supposed to believe that they sat up all nigh thrashing it out for Kenny to do before breakfast??

Hearing the same thing on the radio, unconfirmed reports Kenny will be gone by end of play today.

I don't know or care what koptalk has said. I tend to not put my neck on the line but I'll hold my hands up if I'm wrong.

~Al~

I no koptalk make up alot of stuff ,but wen they state something and say its from there source like this there normally telling the truth , i think kenny is gone

Lets be honest koptalk have a 50% chance of been right lol and if there wrong they will just say some bad information ill believe it when i hear it on here of 1 of the eds or the lfc website
giblet

Would love 2 see us get martinez to replace him, great tactician and always seems to find good players for small fees

Martinez is nothing special - what is the fascination with this low profile candidate?

Well looks like I got that one wrong....

Still expect Dalglish to go by "mutual consent". I would personally not be happy with Martinez, got another Roy written all over. Really suited to a mid table club but can't make it in a big club.

~Al~

15 May 2012 10:29:58
I think realism evades a lot of rumours now. I think targets such as Matt Jarvis, Victor Moses, and Diame are realistic. Need an outlet/injection of pace also a hard working strong DM.

Matt Jarvis would be considerably cheap
Moses is looking for a higher tabled team
Diame out of contract

Are those players an improvement on what we already got
Targets are actually
Munian
Susaeta
De Jong
Ramirez
These players seem to be the targets two of the three plus de Jong

I don't see why people seem to thing we need a DM...has everyone forgot about Lucas? If he is injured players such as Spearing, Gerrard can easily fill the void, the likelihood of another full season out for Lucas is slim

I agree with this rumour, i think pool wont be able to atract the bigger names. i would also add to the list jordan rhodes from huddersfield and for around 5m worth a punt.

Hi Eds, has there been interest from anyone in the midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah from Udinese. {Ed002's Note - Milan, Arsenal, Napoli, PSG, Manchester City, Nice and Manchester United have shown some interest in Kwadwo Asamoah but if he leaves Udinese this summer is most likely destination would be Juventus.}

15 May 2012 10:25:27
Just seen a recording of that Swansea game. Have to say Andy Carroll was once again impressive same goes for Henderson & Doni. But the most disappointing player was Downing.

If I have to think of the worst signing we made in 2011-2012 Stewart Downing would be my choice. Recently he has been showing a lack of passion & desire. He was unlucky not get a goal or assist after making so many chances in the league but when you are at Liverpool you have to aim for the sky, you may fail but you should never give up.

Regarding transfers, players in & out: I think we really have some players at our stock who needs to leave & get replaced. May be Kenny is thinking we 'll be competing in Europa League next season so we 'll need bigger squad to choose from. but we have seen when we play these players we struggle to win with them on the pitch.

Maxi's body language make me feel he has very much decided to Leave. And Aurelio is defo on the move. jay Spearing should be replaced. But I think keeping Kuyt won't be a problem if he want to remain. For a player above 30yrs he still has physique & stamina to play. I would play him upfront if we can keep him. he has the positional awareness a striker needs and he can nick important goals as he has proved in the past. he needs playing time. It would make him sharp & fit. thats what we have seen lacking in Kuyt this season. I Think he is those kind of player who can play as long as he wants.[Zenetti,Giggs,Raul]

I have to say am not convinced with this Rasmus Elm guy we have been linked with. He is not that much mobile & we have already very much immobile Adam with us. To replace Adam/without replacing, buying Elm is I don't think a good idea. We need a dynamic, mobile robust midfielder not another CHARLIE ADAM.
Moussa Sissoko or Gaston Ramirez should be a better option. Kenny has already made woeful mistakes in the transfer market & repeating it once again will be another complete disaster.

And some of these people wanting Roberto MArtinez, well we have seen it before people calling Owen Coyle to replace Roy Hodgson. Peeple like MArtinez, Rodgers, Lambert, Coyle are born to lead small clubs not for clubs like Liverpool. Say we appoint Martinez and people want to see end season survival battles at Anfield. Liverpool fighting relegation every season.
Anyways what so special about Martinez, what has he achieved, his team might be playing beautiful football as is our team but thank God at least with Kenny in charge we are not fighting for our lives to stay in BPL.

People sounding out people like Roberto Martinez for mangers position is ridiculous, big Joke. At this moment of time Martinez & Liverpool is not the right match.

Bosco

What has Martinez done? When his back was against the wall he won of his last 9 including wins against Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal, with an average squad of players, so for me he does deserve a chance at managing a bigger club, whether that club is liverpool or not is up to FSG. Mike

I dont think Martinez is ready for Liverpool, but he should also get a lot of the credit for what Brendan Rogers is doing at Swansea, seeing as he started that project before leaving for Wigan, personally I want KK to get another season, and hope we manage to get a goal scoring striker. Results havent been great this season, but I found in most games we couldnt seem to take chances, the football we played was not bad at all for the most part. I mean how many times did we hit the post or bar?

If dalglish had the players and money martinez had you'd be looking at championship football now! as the saying goes! scratch at a king and underneath you'll find a fool!

If Kenny is to leave then I agree with Bosco, Martinez is not ready YET, I think we need someone with a winning mentality, someone who knows how to win trophies and can deal with the pressure that comes with it. Villas Boas is a winner, De Boer is a winner, Rijkaard too would all be suitable in my opinion. We took on Hodgson because of how he performed with a lower club, lets hope we have learned our lesson there.

Mate, how have we been playing beautiful football?? We look laboured

I have a feeling you might be eating your words about martinez lambert rodgers and coyle

So escaping relegation by the skin of your teeth is what does it for you? the guy is hopeless look at his record and in future maybe form your own opinion and stop getting them of MoTD

15 May 2012 10:05:50
Tony Barrett on The Times tomorrow - Kenny has told his players that he wont let any of them go appart from Aurelio who's out of contract and is looking to add Rasmus Elm & Youness Belhanda to the team. Kenny is hoping to bring back goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero.

TRANSFER NEWS: Liverpool and Tottenham are set to go head to head for Luuk de Jong who will cost them around £12.5m #thfc #lfc {Ed002's Note -

Ed do you still think we are favourites {Ed002's Note - For what - to buy Elm, Belhanda or Elm?}

Would you get a grip he wont let any of them go other than aurelio seriously have you watched every match this season we have possibly the worst midfield in the league and we had the worst second have off the season ever there is atleast six first team players who on a weekly basis have been under performing week in week out kenny is in america fighting for his job there will be big changes if there is to be any form of improvement the players that need to go adam,spearing,maxi is going anyway ,kuyt,cole,aquilani, and you will see the lads out on loan who are not doing well will also be sold dont make me laugh he will keep all the players.

As a spurs fan I don't think this is the case! We are due to have remy at the lane for talks within the week, also adebayor's advisors are in talks with the club about him staying? he is willing to take a pay cut, but, as to how much we don't know?

If i was de Jong i would choose spurs, and it pains me to say it, but if he joined us he'd be contending with a world class player in suarez and a young striker who needs game time to improve, whereas at spurs, assuming they don't sign adebayor will have an out of favour Defoe to contend with. Hmmm

I think the whole saga concerning KK and him keeping the Managers job is already sorted,
I have a feeling this was sorted some weeks ago with Kenny's backing.
I also believe the DOF and new Manager is already known to KK and he is over in Boston to meet and greet along with our owners.
I believe KK will announce he is stepping down for family reasons and will be taking another role within the club (a lot less stressful and time consuming position).
I think the owners will be doing everything they can to complete all the details behind closed doors and will announce the changes when THEY are ready and no sooner.
Just a hunch,
Bobby.

Bang on mate

New manager is Guardiola.

I believe the owners would be trying as hard as they can to tempt Guardiola back to managing instead of him taking a year off...

15 May 2012 07:56:09
Liverpool attacker Dirk Kuyt has turned on manager Kenny Dalglish.

The Dutch favourite feels he's being squeezed out of Anfield.

Kuyt told The Sun: "Under this manager I don't have the feeling any more that he will put me in the side every week.

"I'm under no illusion about playing every week. But I believe I am still good enough to play for Liverpool every week.

"My physical stats are better than ever before."

Kuyt has been kept on the bench by Dalglish for most of the season and feels it has killed him.

He added: "Last season I was scoring goals all over the place. But this season the manager bought three players who all played in my position.

"In the rotation system he used, I never found my rhythm again and never felt my old self.

"Deep in my heart I'd love to stay at Liverpool so I could have full revenge on everyone in my final season at the club."

The part where you wrote 'Kuyt told THE SUN'...had me dissinterested in this story straight away....The Sun? Now there's a credible source!

Posted by a Manc no doubt, no REAL Liverpool fan reads the Sun!!

AngleseyRed

Dont buy the sun

Can't control a ball , can't pass , can't cross , can't head the ball but runs around a lot .

There are players in Sefton Park on a Sunday who would be more effective .

Great bloke though !

, i love when people who have absolute no idea about Liverpool history or Liverpool in general writes rumours. Out of all newspapers you had to pick the one paper he NEVER EVER would talk to :) Well done, made my day :)

How are you quoting that paper on this site?

Richards

Agree with Anglesey. Kuyt would never stab a manager in the back, he's got too much integrity. A word that readers of the Sun don't come across too often

Oh its in the sun it must be true!! seriously doubt any liverpool player would talk to the scum newspaper

Why is Dirk even talking to The S*n? Questions need to be asked regarding this error in judgement!!

NO ONE at LFC talks to the sun! its b****cks!

AngleseyRed well said.

So we're expected to believe that Dirk Kuyt, a man who read out tributes at the Hillsborough Memorial a few weeks ago, then went and gave an 'exclusive' interview with 'The S*n'?? How does this even get column inches?

Don't mention the rags name dirk time is up he ran out of ideas proper gentleman but we have to start playing player in there natural positions he done a job but we need pace on the wing and somebody who can cross the ball and cause havoc on the wing

What! and dirk speaks to tht paper u mentioned does he,sum jokers on here
mrbrown

The sun said it so it must be true! why do you even read that gutternews?

False one...kuyt not a guy to go about and talk...he is a warrior in the true sense of the word...loves the club...gave 200% most of the time...but we cannot say some players did better...he understand suarez much better than anyone...

Just a question for Mod 002!!

I thoroughly enjoy reading your comments and ideas on the website, they are much appreciated.

I would like to ask you who your top five realistic signings would be, that would really make a difference at Liverpool and why.

Also do we have a chance of signing Cristian Zapata?

#Note for anyone reading this it's just the ed's opinion, nothing more. {Ed002's Note - As you will appreciate there is no way I want to get involved with suggesting who the "top" signing would be. I have explained where there is known interest in players such as Luuk De Jong but to go further would be pretty inappropriate. As for Zapata, Liverpool were interested in the player when he was at Udinese last year but I don't see that Liverpool will be looking to him this year.}

ed any news on if Natham Eccleston will still be at LFC next season? I cant see him ever making the first team, surley hes getting moved on in the summer? if so is there any intrest from other clubs?
cheers
Neville {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest from other clubs but I would expect him to be available after his Twittering.}

I have the opposite opinion on his ability, but that stuff about the Illuminati was incredible.

Welcome back Rafa, I live on the Wirral and there is a lot of Press outside his house, could be Villa job Though.??

Villa is perfect for him - let's hope so anyway.

Its not the Villa Job. Just wait and see. Dalglish agreed several months ago to take the director of football role. Liverpool Fc are for sure trying to sign Rafael Benitez. Benitez did one mistake in Liverpool, the Barry/Alonso case. Rafa is coming back!

How would you know that? if you've ever seen where he lives, it's not the sort of road you drive past, you only go up there to visit or deliver.

He made quite a few mistakes actually. Look at some of the players he signed who didn't "make the grade."

Im sure I have seen it stated on here before that Rafa would refuse to work under a DOF. Do you ed's know if that is the case?

Steve {Ed002's Note - I have no idea. Sorry.}

If Dalglish has already agreed to step down why is he getting so riled by reporters asking if he'll step down? I think he'll be here another season. The owners have shown their patience before and get on well with Kenny.

Yes Rafa did make some poor signings , but also some great one, do you need a list?
Have Kenny's signing all been wonderful??

Name any manager that olways gets it correct?

Give Rafa another chance this time with good owners not prats.

rasone

Rafa went downhill after he fell out with Paco.

Went downhill after Paco?? He almost won the premiership AFTER Paco left!

And people said getting Dalglish back was a step backwards....stick with Dalglish you know it makes sense...and not If but When the Glory days return lets have Dalglish at the helm!

ALMOST won PL, I almost won the lottery - only 6 numbers short. We ALMOST played exciting football under him as well - again ALMOST is the important word.

Hey rasone I agree that every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market however Benitez abused the privilege. With a strike rate of 1 success for every 11 signings I seriously that your argument holds any water at all.

Again he is unemployed for a good reason and unless he takes the Villa job he will be signing on for a while longer.

15 May 2012 08:20:37
Just to clear things up martinez is not in boston and will not be the next manager kk may well not be the manager by the end of the week i have it on good authority that quique flores (spelling) is fsg prefered choice

Martinez is talking to Villa about the managers job, according to Randy Lerner's press correspondence.

Apparently, Dalglish has flown home already...

Not 100% sure.

I did find it odd how Clarke, Werner , and Henry were pictured at a Red Sox game, but no Dalglish...

I'd assume if they sacked Dalglish they'd sack Clarke too?

Or maybe keep him until we found a replacement who had his own staff?

KKM...

KK was getting a hot dog and a Brewski

Or maybe Kenny just prefers to be at home rather than watching American sports in Boston?
Just a thought.

Yeah......never thought Kenny would be into "rounders" :-)

Yesterday you were calling everyone a liar if they thought KD was in America! How utterly wrong can one person be?

I was told he ha a meeting with the owners...

I wrongly assumed they were flyin here, as how many times has Kenny gone to the States for a meetin prior to this?

I assumed wrong..

I then seen a picture of the anfield dressing for the legends game and his jersey was there.

I wrongly put 2+2 together and got five.

My bad. And apologies to the folk I said were wrong.

I wouldn't post lies. I post what I read/hear.

It may be right, it may be wrong. I'm just passing it on.

KKM...

Were did u see the picture

Of the Red Sox or of the dressing room?

KKM...

Kenny spent the time with his son Paul and his grandkids whilst the others went to the baseball game.

Maybe Kenny took the photo

Why would kenny be going to the states to get sacked u clown! if kenny was getting sacked they wouldnt bother taking him to the states to do it.maybe he over there checking out our pre season friendly venue and discuss our summer moves
mrbrown

Kenny came home this morning through Heathrow...

And Mr. Brown...Apparently it was Kenny who asked to do it over there to speed things up as the owners were not due over for a couple of weeks...

KKM...

Kenny spent the time with his son Paul and his grandkids whilst the others went to the baseball game = Finally, someone wth a brain!

So according to the mousse on talksport he has inside information that king kenny has been sacked just passing what I've heard this morning

Nick from birmingham {Ed016's Note - Talksport is a poor source)

He didn't say he was sacked, he said he has been called over to the US for talks with owners.

Fingers crossed!
Sjb76

Do you think they are that bad? I always thought they were too, but recently they seem to break news before others, they were also saying McLeish had gone yesterday before other media outlets. I am by no means saying I trust what they say 100%... As I only believe things that are from the club itself. But I'm not sure they are as poor as some make out. I hope they are wrong on this occasion though. Hopefully Kenny won't be sacked, another role maybe, but not sacked.

Ed 22: I do understand that Aquilani had done somethings wrong, but has he ever got a real chance in our club? Is it his fault he got high wages, came in overpriced? He played fairly regular in first Juventus, then Milan, clubs that at the moment is better than ours. Whats so bad with us getting stuck with him? I gotta say, what I have seen of him seems positive, bit again I do not know anything about his attitude in the trainingground and such. Can you sheed some light on why you seem disappointended in "getting stuck with his lazy ass"? {Ed016's Note - I knew it was going to happen. I am not happy he has returned, it is a joke. He should have left last summer and yet again we will be touting his overpriced butt around europe this summer}

I get that, it would have been much easier if we managed to get him sold last summer. But when he is a fairly regular starter in Milan he must be good enough for LFC? Surely Henderson or Adam wouldnt have gotten many games in Milan? Is it his attitude or does he just not want to play for us? It seems odd to me, I was hoping someone with more knowedge could explain? {Ed016's Note - He had a falling out with Comolli last summer. He wanted to play in Italy, he came to us injured in a very poor deal where we lost on of our greatest playmakers of all time. He isn't strong enough for the premiership and was lacking in fitness. He may have been good enough for Milan because they weren't paying anywhere close to his full wages as Liverpool were supplimenting them. His attitude has been stuff liverpool he wants to go back to Italy and that is simply why him coming back is a nightmare....there's your knowledge, next time search function may help you)

I don't care how overpriced he is, I'd much rather see his name on the team sheet than that plank Jay Spearing!

What does that make Henderson then?
Tim

I think most fans are missing the point regarding him. Its not that he is not good enough to play for Liverpool. He does not want to live in England.

Cant we just sell him to russia or china?

Who said he didn't want to live in England. Was it him or was it someone saying he'd said it? This guy is a class footballer and unlike some other players (including some Liverpool ones) seems to conduct himself with a little dignity.

Those of you that think AA is is the great missing link know nothing about football. He is proven to be at Charlie Adams' level and no better...what's worse is we cannot shift him and his ridiculous wages on because he is universally acknowledged throughout Europe as a lazy waste of talent!

...and the people here suggesting he never said anything himself...that's because he was too lazy to learn English and instead got his agent to do his bidding and talking! He is a major Rafalite blunder (along with about 15 others)...total waste of space who is not even strong enough for the rather mundane Italian football scene and their match-fixing.

Personally I would rather have a guy who would run through a brick wall for the club than a wimp who would not break sweat for us.

Anyone who thinks aquaman would replace spearing or lucas in the team hasn't got a clue..

He has glass knees too

ed can you please explain to me why everyone wants Luuk de Jong so badly? I may be wrong, and sorry if i am, but most people seem to get their opinions of players off youtube. However the majority of his videos are just of him missing chances..

kind of reminds me of when united fans were saying how good Bebe was because they saw him do an overhead kick from the halfway line that went out for a throw in on youtube..

again i may be wrong, and admittedly all i've seen of him is off youtube, but what i have isn't great!

I have watched him on tv in the europa league and against teams like ajax in the eridivisie. he seems a real gem to whoever gets him and in my mind can be as good as RvP but check out (Player-profiles.co.uk) for a longer and more detailed description JLFC

Clearly he is not just missing chances. He have scored more goals then Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy and Kuyt combined this season. Can he do it in EPL? Lets hope so. We are not in a posistion to buy Cavani, Benzema etc.. We have to hope young players from smaller league, like de Jong can take the next step in our club.

Yes finally someone agrees with me! He seems so slow, unskillful, his heading ability isn't very good, and he can get lost during games. Soldado all day,everyday.

De Jong is 2nd top scorer in this years Eredivise. He is going to the Euros with the Dutch. He is More than a decent striker and will be a very good buy at the quoted 15 mil Euros.

Corvin

60plus goals in two seasons!!must be worth a punt

Proven goalscorer

I think he would have a nice balance with suarez, his movement is good maybe not as good as suarez' but his finishing is top notch i watched a lot of him last season and hoped liverpool would sign him last summer and if andy continues improving like he has in the last couple games, suarez starts to finish some of his chances and we bring in de jong i would easily say we would have on of the best attacking options in the league.
ShaneK Lfc

No, the boys stats and watched performances do not lie. He would be a great addition.

I dont think it is a matter of wanting de Jong, I think it is a matter of wanting anyone that has the potential to provide a shot of optomism. Once there is some indication that Liverpool will indeed be spending again in the summer, then I expect much more considered assesment (read slating) of prospective targets.

I seen him twice in europa league games during the groub stage and he isnt a bad player. he is more mobile then carroll with the physical prescense

Ive watched de jong on tv and from what i saw he looks a good young talent hes strong and his vision is brilliant and hes a kid

Again i'll admit i haven't seen much of him, but i remember Kezman and Kalou scoring loads of goals in the Eredivise, and turned out to be very poor! and imagine how many he could have scored in that league had he not missed so many..

i hope i'm wrong and i hope if we get him he bangs them in, but for me Soldado is the obvious choice!

Is Jupp Heynckes FSG's preferred choice to replace KK?

dmedly

The man is 67!

Apparently Luuk De Jong has said he'll be leaving Twente? Good news I suppose, but let's hope he wants LFC. I'd be very open to an additional striker and will welcome him for definite. Looking forward to what is hopefully a good summer and the Euro's.

Cheers for the job you're doing all Eds.
Thanks, Ell.
