hey eds im really confused right about now ed022 is sayin ian ayre and steve clarke r gone...sum of u said they was gone but then said u didnt no...at the same time ian ayre was on sky sports saying hes not going...wich 1 of these is correct ? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware both were going. But I am as confused as you now.}

Said on ssn clarke was stayin?!

Fair enough ed thanx

BBC Sport website said Steve Clarke resigned out of loyalty

SKY say Steve Clarke is still employed by the club

Ian ayre is staying atm and steve clarke is apparently on holiday and his future depends on whether the new manager wants him there or not

Kenny also said he wasn't leaving and they sacked him.

Could it be that Ian Ayre will be moved sideways in a management reshuffle to concentrate on commercial activities rather than his stewardship of the club.

I believe they are both working out their notice until replacements are found in oprder to maintain 'continuity'.

villas boas announced as manager tomorrow..
bossypool

He might be but not that soon

He was a flop alredy he,s not good enough for our club. man looks like he is about to have a nervous brake down on the line .

So thats our choices AVB or Martinez....I have "A Very Bad" feeling it will be Martinez....cant believe they only gave kenny 12 and a bit months....shame

Source? People need to start backing their sh!t up....otherwise youre just another spoofer.

Never got a chance with chelsea after he droped terrys boyfriend lampers.

Whoever it is...it'll be the best candidate. Martinez is a good manager and fellow reds should stop treating him with disrespect. It's all rumours at the end of the day, it'll take weeks before any decision is made.

Ed 002, would be safe to say Klopp is out of the question?

Amz {Ed002's Note - Klopp is most inlikely.}

But why is he unlikely?

What does 'inlikely' mean...is that a double negative? does that mean he will be manager.....sorry....you must be under the kosh! {Ed023's Note - It was a typo. I is next to U on the keyboard, unlikely which was meant to be said}

There you have it Amz.

Most unlikely, but he wouldn't say out of the question!

He'd be my No.1 choice based on what he's done at Dortmund. But can he speak English? Anyone know? Eds?

What does this mean for transfers in the summer? Have all the plans been scrapped? {Ed016's Note - I guess you could say so yes. A new DOF brings new plans and a new manager brings new ideas of what kind of players are needed and what players are not needed. But expect the outcasts from past season to still leave. Hopefully, if we find buyers. Remember the worlds economy is pretty fragile currently.)

Kloop is no1 target. Approach being made but fsg not confident he'll leave

David dein pulling strings behind the scenes

Please no to AVB

Bring home Rafa!!

Is Dein playing seductive and persuasive music on the harp?

TAYPOT
(Apologies for the sarcastic humour....been a sad sad day redmen)

AVB would tick all the boxes from FSG's point of view. Cant see why anyone would overlook him. I dont think FSG will bring Rafa back, they appeased the fans last time by bringing in Kenny and look were that got us.

Why this continues recycling of past managers... lets start fresh :@

Rafa will not even be considered for an interview. FACT!

16 May 2012 22:51:02
hi eds back again just wanted to know now that kenny and D.O.F are gone are the transfer targets likely to change thanks m8 {Ed001's Note - yes.}

I'm sure we will still have interst in soldado, I mean look at him he is a goal scoring machine.

16 May 2012 22:45:10
Klopp has handed in resignation. News to break tomoz.

God I hope so! First choice.

16 May 2012 22:24:36
Any chance of carlo anciolotti eds?
Cheers
Rug red
{Ed001's Note - no.}

16 May 2012 22:21:53
hey eds just wandering if montepelliers cach could be considered i mean he has taken them to the top of ligue 1 ? {Ed001's Note - no idea.}

16 May 2012 22:20:18
have heard allegri tops fsg managerial list have any of the eds heard this? personally i think hes done well as a manager at every level in italy and personally think he would do well if he got the job would like to hear your thoughts please eds and if you think im way off the mark cheers CRAIG {Ed001's Note - only thing I know about him is his impressive record.}

Transformed AC Milan in a season without spending a great deal of money plus they play nice football and have a lot of exciting players! I just don't see why he'd leave plus I thought they wanted a manager who could speak English and don't know how his English is to be honest.

What are you talking about Allegri has spent tons of money at milan. Ibra, Robinho are two big ones. Milan have outspent every team in Serie A but miles

16 May 2012 22:31:25
the most bizarre rumour with legs ive heard today steve nichol to become liverpool manager ?
New England Revolution
US Open Cup 2007
MLS Coach of the Year Award 2002
MLS Cup Runner-up: 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007
North American SuperLiga 2008

Im listening to a steve nicol interview on espn and he is amazed and wounded that kennys been sacked, so we can rule him out

Not bad going, this rumour could find some momentum I reckon
Would be good to bring him home

In another note I am thinking Carra, Gerrard, Fowler, as coaches (Y)

Not a good choice. he manages a soccer team, we're a football team.

He is one mentioned in the shortlist. But he is well settled in the States. My bet is on Rafa or AVB.

I doubt FSG would ever again go for anyone who the fans will consider one of their own.

16 May 2012 22:17:01
Ed or Macca, If Suarez does leave who do you expect us to look at?
Cheers.
{Ed001's Note - we don't have anyone in place to make that kind of decision! *sighs*}

I wud say soldado , and Luuk de Jong are the new liverpool strikers for 2012-2013. Bye Suarez :,(.

If suarez does go it would be falcao. 30-40m euros

16 May 2012 21:56:48
eds do you think the new manager will have large funds to make the squad there own? {Ed001's Note - I am sure there will be a decent pot to spend.}

16 May 2012 21:48:03
Strong rumour that they want O'Neil , hope not .

Only one person for the job , rafa with the support of decent owners .

No Rafa, are you crazy. For once Liverpool, please think brand new, follow the modern game of football...enough of legends and old heros, time to flex muscles FSG - time to do it your way

Why not o'neill??

should of signed martin at the start and they wouldnt be in this problem. kenny was crazy with money. 20 mil for henderson? 35 for carroll? how much was downing? adam was good signing but again paid over the top.

70 mill there at least! you all know this is true it was a waste. all of us can think up better players in them positions for way less money {Ed001's Note - hahahaha you clearly have no idea about O'Neill and how he wastes money on dross. Probably because he never actually picks the dross he has overpaid for, instead he sits them on the bench to watch a dad's army team put ten men behind the ball week in week out.}

When are we going to learn! Managers going back doesn't work

Rafa the only man? Are you having a laugh? Is your memory shot? Almost everyone to a man wanted him gone towards the end of his reign. Tactics, signings, substitutions, rapport with players all went t*ts up. Why is he still out of work despite the managerial merry go round throughout Europes top clubs? All you Kenny haters & short term glory herberts have got your wish but we are now the same as Chelsea, we have no class and just sack em every year. This is not the club I grew up with. Kenny is a footballing genius, his managerial record stands up to anyone, he above everyone knew our league form was unacceptable and he would have sorted it in time.

What makes you think we've got decent owners?

Kenny was crazy with money?

Kenny asked for Carroll. FSG paid £35m
Kenny asked for Henderson. FSG paid £20.

How exactly was Kenny crazy with money? {Ed023's Note - FSG just gave the money, Comolli negotiated the deals}

Why pay so much. yes he was crazy with money. does it not cross your mind kenny knew the fees before signing duhhhhh

16 May 2012 21:46:32
Ray Houghton on Talksport has just confirmed Steve Clarke has resigned!

16 May 2012 21:33:23
So the managers shortlist so far according to the ever reliable Macca (cheers for the updates by the way mate) And someone else reliable are:

Andre Villas-Boas
Allegri Massimiliano (Milan)
Klopp

which are all good managers that i'd be very pleased with dunno about you guys but I dont really fancy Martinez or O'neil!

Whats your opinion ed? {Ed001's Note - I don't want AVB, but the other two I would not say no to.}

Hi ed001,

Not having a go mate, just interested why you dont want AVB?

SA {Ed001's Note - because he showed a complete lack of any kind of tactical flexibility. Even when things weren't working, he had no idea how to change it.}

I think avb could be a good choose but to get fans on his side he should appoint caggs as his number 2

Klopp is a God in Dortmund! I follow him since he was a player/coach in Mainz! There's noone like him to motivate his troops! But sorry, I think he's just impossible unfortunately, because Liverpool and Kloppo (like he's called in Germany) would fit...

Klopp is a brilliant manager ED why not? {Ed003's Note - 001 was saying he didn't want AVB not Klopp ]

Well to be honest as it stands for now...common sense...rafa wont b bck...they want sum1 young...so were most likely gna end up with AVB...Martinez or brenden rodgers so suck it in....personally id be gutted if rafa dint get the job as he stil lives in liverpool

Why don't you want AVB ed? Had a fantastic record before Chelsea and even then he was doing fairly well before player power had him removed.

Martin

Can I ask you, Ed01, why you don't want AVB? He's already a winner, including the UEFA Cup. He believes in attacking football and I think part of his problem at Chelsea was the politics. Matt {Ed001's Note - his problem was a lack of any kind of tactical knowledge. His team was ripped apart, time and time again, and he had no idea how to fix the issue.}

Ed001, why do you not wish to see AVB in charge, any particular reason(s)? {Ed001's Note - no tactical flexibility.}

And it is just so that the guy you don't want is the one that's not committed. lol

You men the same AVB whose Chelsea team scored 3 against Utd in quick time?. The same AVB who has. better all round record i.e. b4 Chelsea. Did the Ed's actually decide to think that AVB was not suited to Chelsea style of management. Can any ed's tell me how Porto and Chelsea have a relationship in term of coaching, style of play etc???. Just because {Ed023's Note - Chelsea team who scored 3 against Utd, what did that game finish by the way?}

The same macca that said kenny was staying? {Ed023's Note - He never said it was gospel that he was saying}

16 May 2012 21:32:12
If a reasonable and profitable offer comes in for suarez then he will be sold.
The first choice manager in line for the job is AVB, however if we fail to get him then Roberto Martinez will get the job.

Thanks

matt_lfc1993

Omg selling Suarez the only flair player since mcmanaman and we want him out good move now it's a toss up between avb and Martinez?at this rate we'll be getting ready 4 the championship this time nxt year Kk should have been given 1more year fsg have jumped the gun big style they may just live 2 regret this decision

Your 9 years old?

You're living in 2002??

Rugby Parker

16 May 2012 21:31:48
hi ed,
any chance of getting unai emery as new manager, i think he would do really well at the club {Ed001's Note - no, he has just taken a job.}

Allegri Massimiliano - not sure Milan would let him go now would they ? And does he speak any English ?

Klopp is a good option

16 May 2012 21:22:44
Clearly i thought Kenny was going to stay..

I presumed this was because the manager the club wanted was not available..

The 2 names i have heard previously where

Allegri Massimiliano (Milan)

Klopp

Wil try and find more info...

Cheers

Macca

Klopp is the man to go for he is without doubt the pdeal man to trake the club forward. what you think macca?

majestic69

Wouldnt mind klopp

What's the word from the players macca? Do they agree with it and have they got ideas who they would like to see

Cheers

Ray

Yes please! Seriously can't see it as both of them have just won the league and I could not see either of them leaving their clubs. Thanks Gaz

Cheers Macca, like you I thought he could have turned it around given another season, and I'm gutted.
I do wonder how long each new manager is going to be allowed? Do we sack them if they don't get higher than 7th place in their first full season?

Macca please just tell me avb or martinez arnt in line for the job....theyre both good young managers but going to liverpool could be a 50 50 like avb at chelsea was....if any 1 they should just bring rafa back

I love you sir macca! Klopp would be simply outstanding. Maxillimiano, would he really come? But anyways, your a legend.
AnfieldUSA

Cheers Macca, don't need to justify yourself to these bunch of bellen*s, when you said 'in my opinion' Kenny will stay kinda gave it away, you still post regardless, respect to u, I truly hope something is in the pipeline, half the work force has gone, I imagine FSG aren't so irresponsible they'd just bin everyone without some wheels in motion. Big descisions ahead, need to sort this circus out ASAP to prepare for next season, try and get some stability. YNWA

Chiz

I think Klopp is a pretty decent shout. I cannot believe that some of you guys still want Benitez? Let's get real about Rafa. We didn't play particularly good football and yes, we won two trophies.. both on penalties, after being outplayed by both teams. And remember, we finished 5th in that particular year. I'm happy we did win, of course, but let's put the whole thing into a realistic context and no re-write history. Granted, I did think we were the better team in the 2007 final and should've won the title the year we came second. However, we didn't and second place is nowhere. Rafa had his chance and in my opinion was very overrated. It's time to look forwards and move on. Let's not make the same mistake we did asking Kenny to come back. Matt

Who was it that was not availible was it pep

This manager you speak of not being available, does it happen to be guardiola by any chance?

Could always try and get benzema or young as a player manager

Klopp everyday of the week if we can get this guy he will bring success!! He also has his team play fantastic football!!

Cheers for all the updates Macca!!

Who would you pick out of the two? I would also have Rafa back! One poor season and the years he put up with those cowboys! Show's just what love he has for the club and it's supporters!!

Give Rafa the backing, a great DOF to go and get the players he actually wants and watch us fly!!

Jon LFC

Thanks alot mate. I really hope for Klopp. I know its a dream, but he could bring Kagawa, Lewandowski and Hummels.

Cheers, lets hope for a bright summer and following years.

Hi Macca
Andy Hunter a very respected journalist with the Guardian based in Liverpool have just posted an article were he is stating that the owners want a manager with proven title winning experience. He thinks that FSG are looking at Klopp, Deschamps and AVB. Kloop would be my pick but I do not think that he wants to uproot from Germany just yet maybe in a year's time. Massimo Allegri you can exclude because he does not speak English and he confirmed recently that he wants to stay in Milan. I say that Blanc could also come into the picture, he is available after the Euro's.
Vnce {Ed016's Note - I really do not think it will be postponed till after the euros, expect it before the transfer window opens)

Martinez, rogers, lambert are not proven enough to replace kenny. We need a big name like Guardiola, Van Gaal, Klopp, Hiddink. {Ed016's Note - Take Guardiola out of the hat it is not going to happen)

Do you know who it was they wanted? Thanks macca

Cheers macca, always love your input, when you first came on here I was skeptical but you proved me completely wrong. I really hope it is Klopp he would be my dream manager along with hollaway to deal with media..

Kind regards

The southern red {Ed016's Note - Hollaway? lol banter)

Macca thanks for the info even if you do get it wrong you are one of the most reliable posters.. btw klopp would be amazing bring kagawa or the other young talents with him.. thanks again macca, whoever you may be even if you are spearing.

Milan, won the league? {Ed016's Note - Juve won the league)

Who was the manager who was not available Macca? thanks

Zero

Why would he leave Milan? and if so do you think that he would try and get Aquilani to stay?

I follow serie very closely as juve are my"second" team, I hope we don't get allegri as he is rubbish and his tactics baffle most plp in Italy, conte (of juve) on the other hand wow what a manager, I can only but dream we get him, unbeaten in the league this year, good eye for players and excellent football,

How can we justify bringig Rafa back after just sacking Kenny? So if Rafa fails next season do we get Houlier back? how far back would we end up going? A time machine to bring Tom Watson back...Stability is what we need to be successful

16 May 2012 21:22:11
reporting we made contact with Martinez last week for the managerial position. Can I take this news and believe it is b****cks? I hope so! Cheers Clarkchenko7

Clarkchenko! can you let the lads know my phone has been KIA if you read this? expected back Friday or Monday bud JLFC

16 May 2012 21:20:32
R Liverpool interested in nick Powell for Crewe looks a good young player

Yes we are hope we get him but could this change with the current situation?

Square tomato

16 May 2012 21:10:58
Any chance of de boer ed?
Thanks {Ed001's Note - I honestly don't know, sorry.}

16 May 2012 20:48:34
I posted that Bielsa was offered the liverpool job today at three and it didnt even make it on to the page.

K-Man

Only saying because the post is relevant to todays events. post was around 3.

16 May 2012 21:07:32
Just heard a rumour that a deal for skrtel to join man city is all done and dusted anybody else heard this

Rubbish!!

Prior to events of today, the news on lfc tv was that skrtel was happy to stay and that he still has some way to go on his contract yet.

I heard they were sorting something out a few days ago from somebody who works in a bookmakers they have connections but am not sure how high in the club they are but they seemed insistent it was happening i seriously hope not though. CRAIG

Its obvioulsy not, we dont have any one to sign him

Seeing how there is currently no one at the club to do this I'm gonna say its untrue

Absolute rubbish, he has spoke to LFCtv and said all these rumours are false!

Who would have sanctioned this deal in the last 48hrs?

Man City don't want, or to be blunt need, him. And he has stated he wants to stay. Not sure why so much speculation on this one

They will look to replace Lescott. So plausible.

City have to offer us atleaat 4-5 player in exchange

Without a manager i think not

16 May 2012 20:57:28
hey eds im really confused, has steve clarke resigned or is he staying at lfc, i think he is a really good coach.

can you clear this up for me please, thanks :)
{Ed001's Note - I am as confused as you, I was told he had resigned.}

Steve Clarke has resigned as a show of solidarity

BBC is still reporting that he has resigned.

Steve clarke quit, it was his own choice to leave, so yes he's gone

16 May 2012 20:57:27
Eds/Macca,
Is Michael Laudrup a realistic candidate for the job and would he be considered?
Josh {Ed001's Note - I don't know, but he would be a decent option.}

ED01 AVB's name seems to be coming up a lot but ED02 has said he has a offer from Roma and 1 more offer which he is waiting for do you think AVB would consider us? {Ed001's Note - yes I think he would consider us.}

16 May 2012 20:34:24
Just to let you all know that as long as Ian Ayre in particular has any say in the boadroom at Liverpool Rafa Benitez will not be Liverpool manager. I have been told by my source who you all laughed at yesterday that no shortlist has been mad of yet and also no contact has been made to anybody. Thanks Gaz

You waz right i remember. whos ur punt on?

Wow Gaz you must be a REALLY important person! there now, doesn't that make you feel good?

Heard Ian Ayre has also been sacked.

Then ian ayre should go

No stadium. No director of football. No head of communications. No manager, No Assistant Manager? and you wnt to get rid of Ayres now??

Next season will be a car crash and a trip into the unknown

16 May 2012 20:32:56
So eds can we count Suarez as certainly leaving us then?
Bean {Ed001's Note - nothing is ever certain, but I would expect him to be out of the door for big money.}

Ed i think what fsg have shown is that they did not think suarez was supported well enough, eg sacking the lawyer, ian cotton and now kenny. I think they feel he was not given good enough help. what do you think? {Ed001's Note - completely the opposite.}

That is ridiculous.

He is our best player. How many more backward steps are we intending on taking.

Adam

Is that just your opinion ed001 or is it a general one? Thanks {Ed001's Note - it is both my opinion and what I am being told regarding interest from a few clubs with a lot of money to spend in the summer.}

Sorry if my last message was a bit rude by the way.

It was just general annoyance at the way things are going at the club, not at your ed's note.

Adam

That indecent is past....and even if he was guilty let it be.....is that worth loosing a player like suarez? FSG is mad if they think so...football and such controversies have gone hand in hand...suarez apologized thats it....

16 May 2012 20:26:12
Ed, I'm reading lots about Suarez possibly being sold now Kenny has left.. Any idea if this is true?
Would really appreciate an answer,
Cheers!
{Ed016's Note - I think a lot of people got fired because of the incident. I think he will more than likely leave if an acceptable offer comes along and a decent profit will probably be made. He is a fantastic player but he is just a liability at times and to be a liability to the club you don't always have to be a bad player)

He is 1/3 to stay at lfc with paddy power ,yes i know its only betting market

Why is it exactly that evry1 thinks suarez is so gr8 , he dont score and he dont do assists, what is it he gives us , he just dives and causes trouble,we shud b glad to get rid of him and get sum1 in who can score

pd

Bilbao didnt do very well in the spanish league did they..or win the europa league?
why wud we want him? {Ed001's Note - because he is a great coach, did you expect him to win the Spanish league to prove himself? Try finding out something about the man. Pep Guardiola rates him as the best coach in the world.}

Rubbish, he is no more a diver than any other EPL striker.That is just a rumour put about by Ferguson because he is frightened of Suarez skills.
CR {Ed001's Note - I think if anything, as the season wore on he dived less and less than other strikers.}

16 May 2012 20:17:22
Regarding the AVB rumours

Gary Richardson on 5 live said liverpool did have contact

his tone strongly suggested DID not are. I will be suprised if we look to him.

thanks

Simon

I dont understand please clarify?

yoyoman

Did have contact could imply he's already agreed to come. So there is no reason to keep having contact

16 May 2012 20:16:58
Ian Ayre is still at the club and says he is not leaving , Steve clarke is on holiday in florida , not sure if he has been sacked ,? My choice would be Bielsa if he could get us playing like Bilboa , is he available ? do you know anything on him EDs Macca ?

Guinnessred8 {Ed016's Note - Clark will stick around for now in a caretaker role, this may only last a few days, yes he is on holiday in florida)

BBC are saying that Steve Clarke has resigned in a show of solidarity with KK.

'Clark will stick around for now in a caretaker role, this may only last a few days'

Hmmm??

I was told that Clarke resigned his position immeadatly as soon as he hard Kenny had gone. Thanks Gaz

Is reported that Clarke resigned. I also seen somewhere that Ayre has either been fored or resigned as well (to be replaced by Dein)

Bilbao lost 5 of their last 6 and drew 1 very poor lately

Dad worked for AVIVA, sponsors of Norwich. Dinner the other night with a man high up who firmly spoke of his belief - has links with lambert - that dalglish was to be sacked and Lambert is set for the job.

AlonsoLover

When I am right I will come back to claim my plaudits.

Do you honestlythink a club like liverpool would have a manager who has spent one season in the prem with norwich who hasnt proved himself at all, over a legend like kenny dalglish. complete step backwards. were liverpool not blackpool !!

I really do hope that your wrong.

Joshlfc

He is most likely going to villa, so change it a bit and post it on their page

Mr Paul Lambert if your unhappy at Norwich. Then you should take it up with your club and not come on here trying to spread your lies.

Is your dad paul whitehouse....
coz your a comic...
GREENARMY

I hope not. I'd much prefer AVB or Capello.

Not proven himself..
well lets see.took over norwich in division 1 after the lost their opening home game of the season 7-1.got them promoted to the championship in his first season.then,got promoted to the prem in his first season in the championship.took norwich to mid table in the prem 1st season.won league titles and champions league as a player.
unproven,yea i guess he is then,
give avb a call then...

Hope you're right pal, I think Lambert is a future star. If we don't step in now Spurs or Arsenal will in the next couple of years. The trick is to spot a special talent before it becomes common knowledge, then we'll have no chance. The man's got something about him, hunger, passion, desire, insight, gets the best out of the players he works with through his talent and vision.

How many utd fans were clamouring for Ferguson when he was at Aberdeen, not many. Lambert is gonna be a great (look at his playing career and the single mindedness he showed and success he had) hope it's with us.

David

Why not?yes he just had 1 season in PL but you also bought carrol who only had half season experience in PL..

Eds Do you think that kenny will go up stairs?

Cheers {Ed001's Note - no.}

Just to bed yes.

Things looks to have turned sour in boston, i'm quite sure sacking wasn't the plan.

Why not does he live in a bungalow or is he secretly a dalek?

16 May 2012 20:06:30
i was just watching sky sports news and they said steve clarke has not left the club, im confused. has he left?

Yep he left out of respect for kenny

Not yet.

He was the coach, could have been partly responsible for our poor tactics.

16 May 2012 20:13:41
If this is the right decision or not depends upon who gets the job next, I pray that it's not Martinez or Rogers though, they would both be gone by xmas and we would be bottom of the league. Also I have to say I've had Talksport on in the van all afternoon and the amount of fans practically crying was pathetic, people need to get a grip. At the end of the day if any of us were in charge of the club and had a league season like the one we've just witnessed then you would have sacked Kenny also. The problem we seem to have is some of our fans are totally blinded with emotion, we all need to take a step back and try to take an objective view at what's gone on. Yes Kenny is a legend with what he's done in the past but that's the problem we have, a lot of us are still there, in the past when things were great. Time and the game has moved on and we can't afford to do things the way we used to because it obviously doesn't work any more and we should be thankful that we have owners who recognise that fact and are trying to drag us forward. I'm not saying that FSG are going to be successful or not but the fact that they are doing something about our situation we should be thankful about. Let's see what happens because it can't get worse than last season can it? Also before anyone say's "but we won the league cup" go and read what Shankly said about the league, something about it being our "bread and butter".

Completely agree. Well said.

Your wrong about Martinez, how he has kept Wigan up each season is a miracle in itself, but thats not why you are wrong. Have you actually watched wigan play? They play a fantastic fluid passing game, which is exactly the "Liverpool way"
I think you are blinded by the fact that Martinez manages a team with limited resources, with Liverpool's resources I believe he could achieve great things. My only concern is this may be a little early in his management career, but, look at Pep, sometimes that doesn't matter
Andy H

Totally agree

Why are you listening to talksport ? trashy station

It can get a lot worse mate - ask any Leeds fan

Well said mate,bang on the button...

Shankly didn't win a thing between '66 and '73. Which year would you have sacked him?

Kieran

Exactly not long ago 2nd place would have been a failure for us. Now 4th place is our target and we failed miserably at that and came 8th. I love Kenny but LFC need to get back to challenging for 1st place our bread and butter. We need someone experienced like gus hiddink, ancelotti, Jose or O Neil

Gotta agree with you fella. Dalglish will always be in every lfc fans heart but this season was not good. Yes silverware is good but bad results against "smaller" teams at Anfield is not good enough. As for Martinez or Lambert....well ask yourself this...would man utd or Arsenal or man city employ these very good , but are they good enough managers, and are Chelsea even considering them?? Then why should we the greatest team in the world?KK...Y.N.W.A. Pinhead.

Good post.

Couldn't agree more with first post, was at 90% of games this season Kenny maybe a great guy and no doubt legend as a player and will always stay that way, but we need a modern day proven class manager, sentiment has no place in football. Results in the league is what gets better players gets more money for the club and helps keep the club at the top. Martinez is a big fish in small pond, as hodgson was forget lowering expectations, we need a big name who has proven track record who commands respect from his players and has player and tactical knowledge would u see man u/city going for martinez? No so why should we settle. Were lucky the owners wanna spend and invest after the money wasted so far

Ed's Is Kevin Keen still with us or has he walked like clarke?

Red Grand

Steve Clarke is still at the club. So is Ian Ayre FYI.

At this point, does it really matter

Hi ed's I'm guessing you probably won't know this but how long do you think fsg will take to appoint a new manager... Apologise if that is a silly question

Kind regards

The southern red

I like how people have pushed the unbelievable button lol, the guy was just asking a question, what's unbelievable about that?

*from a reliable Facebook page*

Reports suggest that FSG have contacted AVB about the Liverpool job.

Not sure how true it is, just telling people what iv seen/heard.

If AVB is appointed how would you fellow kopites feel?

Badge {Ed016's Note - sad that this took place in the first place. But at least he would be young and hard working and know some decent transfer targets.)

I, for one, would be extremely happy with the appointment of AVB. I think his high line defence would suit LFC down to the ground, and also help to get the best out of Reina. He fits the mould of FSG as he is young with fresh ideas.

I would be happy with AVB, we need a fresh approach which I thinkhe would bring, he has also won leagues and the europa league so he is a winner. Good choice for me

He's younger than Carragher! why would the Liverpool players respect him any more than the Chelsea players did. If we get him we may as well just give up and go home. Chelsea played that high a line they were getting battered by everyone. One good season at Porto, where no-one goes and attacks, and people assume he's a great. Chelsea were S**T under him, really S**T. Chelsea currently have better players than us, where's the logic in going for him?

Anyone advocating AVf****B for manager is lacking the meantal capacity to add anything relevant to the debate and should just go back to playing Championship manager and leave the rest of us alone.

David

Brillant dave at last a man with common sense

Ian ayre has not left.....

77to2005

He will be demoted

Benitez would not be coming back if Ian Ayre is still there. I know FACT that Ayre detests Rafa.

I myself would love The Rafulation part dos, as nobody knows us better, and he would not be distracted arguing with idiotic owners.

It's bye bye Adam, and Downing hopefully.

Best reply of the day. IRWT

This is Anfield says that the 5 candidates for Manager are:

Roberto Martinez
Paul Lambert
Brendan Rodgers
Jurgen Klopp
Rafa Benitez

Possibilities please, personally would like to see BR or RB

How those this is anfield know who the candidates are?bs

I personally love brendan rogers a good young manager who is very much under rated but yet tipped to be one of the biggest managers of the future by none other then the special one himself. he also plays good attacking football something we lack

None of the above except Klopp.

Has Brendan Rodgers worked with Steve Clarke in the past....
Maybe why SC hasn't gone too

All 5 are wrong and shouldnt be approached

The only one on that list with even a remote chance of the job is Martinez.

1.rafa
2.Klopp

Why should Jurgen Klopp not be approached? Look at the job that he has done with Dormund winning consecutive league titles by playing attractive football. Allied to that is the fact that he has done it with a young side and little cash. {Ed016's Note - there are several candidates for the job)

Klopp for me. No question.

This is Anfield is mostly full of c$%p. Their administrators are egotistical morons and will say anything just to sound in the know.

Klopp from that list stands out , but i like the look of Bielsa his teams play great football !

16 May 2012 19:54:46
HELLO EDS

Who Are The Realistic Front Runners For The Managers Job- Would you Say Rafa Is A Candidate

jaiimy red man {Ed001's Note - not a clue, but no I wouldn't see Rafa having a hope in hell.}

Rafa would be my no 1 he did a lot of good work and we would not have finished 8th if he were in charge
bring back rafa {Ed001's Note - he managed to drop us down to 7th with no cup runs in his final season. I would take 8th, Carling Cup and FA Cup final over that every time.}

16 May 2012 19:53:02
hi eds
the sacking of kenny. does this mean suarez will be sold-on a scale of 1 -10 ten being defo to be sold what would you say {Ed016's Note - I think he is most likely on his way out)

On his way out!! stay off the booze

If Suarez was sold the Yanks are digging their own graves. Just my opinion

Suarez will be a PSG player next season

16 May 2012 19:50:22
Bielsa refuses to grant exclusive interviews, the press conference has become his preferred method of communication. He has been known to field every last question from the assembled media during these gatherings. If the talk turns to the intricacies of the beautiful game, a three- or even four-hour press conference is very possible. He enjoys talking to his players but is said to detest English newspaper; The S*n sounds like our man
red rrab {Ed016's Note - What team does he currently manage? sounds like a bit of a looney, maybe the press in his country is less abrassive than the british press)

He is the Bilboa manager Great mind and great approach to a game {Ed016's Note - well they have a great team over there, but could he replicate it in England?)

Bilbao

Ed016...Seriously you don't know who Biesla manages? Probably one of the most talented coaches in Europe at the moment. Oh with Athletic Bilboa by the way.

Ath Bilboa.... but he doesnt speak a word of English and his team only came 10th this season , and they're a good team should be hugher.

"sounds like a bit of a loon" Well his nickname is the Madman... {Ed001's Note - he is an eccentric genius!}

They were too occupied with the Europa cup run to the final and are also in the Copa del Rey final against Barca, not just at Liverpool where cup comps take their toll on league form.

16 May 2012 19:50:04
for macca i have been told a couple of things. a that david dein has been working for fsg for a couple of months and b 3 managers have been sounded out any info ps i can name them as well if need be {Ed016's Note - No info yet)

Well then go on

Please do name i think i speak for everyone when i say we are all interested in if you could be correct

The two i have heard about are
Allegri Massimiliano and Klopp..

Still not !00 % sure, will try and find out more..

Cheers

Macca {Ed016's Note - 100% real Macca)

Name them them

Well done recycled twitter info

Dein has been/is in contact with the owners about a job ... new stadium, DOF or ??

Both fit the bill - successful managers of leading clubs with a winning record at the highest league level, and under 45 years old.
Only problem is trying to get them out of Milan and Dortmund would be nigh on impossible, no?

You havent been told anything. You read all that on the internet, just like the rest of us.

Maccas 2 and van gall but hearing wigan manager cheaper option

Appoint Pat rice Ex Gunners directing manager {Ed022's Note - Oh this post cannot be serious.}

16 May 2012 19:49:08
Hi Eds
Just to clear a few posts on here up, Ian Ayre just been on SSN declaring he's not going anywhere & FSG have not informed him otherwise & he will be starting the recruitment process in the morning, just a few questions for the Eds...
1) By recruiemt do you think he means just the manager or with all the positions at the club that have recently been changed or became available will it be a complete reshape from top to bottom
2) also do you think FSG will have already been in contact with our potential new manager, surely they wouldn't of sacked Kenny without having a replacement lined up, also do you think an appointment will be made quickly?, again with the likes of Arsenal & Chelsea starting their business early & the way we did ours early in the summer surely they will want the new manager in place & starting to recruit staff & players before the Euro's
Be grateful for any info or opinion on the from the Eds,macca or fellow fans {Ed016's Note - I am just a bit depressed. I understand he did not hit fourth and NESV had to make a statement, remember they own the club now. They made tough, very tough decisions at the Red Sox to catch up to the Yankees, they have fired legends over there. Again I am still a little stunned by it, I know I shouldn't be, it is football. No idea who is in the running yet to replace everyone, I have just woken up over here in North America and there are a ton of posts to go through and so I will be working hard to find answers for you guys and we should get some answers soon)

Ed016 lets hope they make a vetter appointment than they did with the red sox booby v aint working out to good so far

Thank you very much Ed016 for all the hard work ahead of you.

16 May 2012 19:47:23
Hi all - Kk will always be a legend. History will look back at KK 's time and say" he saved the club again". I will miss your smile when we score!

Right I don't have a massive network in football, unlike some regulars on the site, but now Lpool are a corporate operation, I'm hearing a few rumblings. One that I thought I'd share (partly for gossip, partly for banter) is that a certain Premiership manager with the initials AW has been sounded out. Bring on the 'sauce' jokes. Also I hear from one of my spread betting buddies in the city ( well I say buddy) is saying that the odds are tracking fast on Rafa.

So all together perplexed, because why sack KK if there isn't an immediate requirement for success, well it boils down to non-football issues at the end of the day.

Whoever takes over, well just read the history of FSG in the first years of Red Soxs, it was about re-setting standards and recalibrating a famous and emotional club to the 21st century.

Arsene Wenger? I don't think so, sorry. I may be mistaken, but that's the only AW I can see in the current Premier League managers.

Badly....Rome 77

Forgetting 'Arry Wedknapp lol

16 May 2012 19:32:57
*seen on a reliable Facebook page*

According to reports, FSG have been in contact with AVB.

Not sure how true this is myself, how would you fellow kopites feel if he was appointed?

Badge

Well pissed he was s**t at one of our rivals

Like putting my head in an oven

Not good enough at Chelski - not good enough for us !

'seen on a reliable Facebook page'

Perfect oxymoron right there

MansfieldRED

He is a good manager, and do very well in a club like Liverpool with a young team.

Gone pass it now,, lets have a new manager each season

If you remember in the days leading up to KD being appointed permenantly, AVB was mentioned as someone that FSG where considering.
I thought he had a rough trot at Chelski, the club should have backed the manager over what was obviously a players revolt, to get the new manager sacked.
He tried to overhaul an aging side in Chelski and look to the future (What we need ATM)
Personally would like to see AVB or R. Martinez appointed, re-appointing Rafa is another 2nd coming and it didnt work (really) with KK.

Don't think he got a good deal at chelsea so I would give him a chance but I have to say his defence was alarming at times so apprehensive if avb comes in
TSB

Id love it if we got him, he was supposedly on verge of roma job but not signed yet , interesting

16 May 2012 19:32:57
eds ian ayre was just on sky sports and he stil our managing director and he said hes not going anywhere ? {Ed001's Note - my info must have been wrong. I was told he was going too.}

And its just said Steve Clark hasn't left

John

So has steve clarke got a job then?

I sent in a similar question as i also see that interview and ssn are also reporting that steve clarke hasn't left either he is still in the states and taking a holiday while he is over there but very much still a part of lfc

He may still go...

Springer {Ed016's Note - Caretaker role, when a new manager comes in he deals with Clarke whether he wants to keep him or if he believes he is not needed)

16 May 2012 19:28:53
Emery has agreed to become Spartak Moscow manager

FSG want Villas-Boas to replace Kenny

Thanks

Spud

Bilic has been appointed by Spartak Moscow as far as i know!

How reliable do you think this rumour is ? I have seen raffa back at his Wirral home so...

Bilic has agreed to become the new Spartak manager so Emery is free to go anywhere. Personally, I would like to see AVB as he is a lot better than his time at Chelsea showed and wouldn't have to battle with the player power at Liverpool. Martinez would be a step backward as would Rafa

Rafa may not have won any league titles with Liverpool but he certainly brought us to the champions league twice,winning one. We even whipped Real Madrid. His last year with us wasn't particularly impressive but with the mess created by the previous owner that didn't help as well. Many criticised his handling of Alonso but i believe there's more than meet the eyes about this affair. He wanted Barry but the owners didn't want to provide the financial help. So he has to sell and Alonso was the most saleable asset then. He was sold for almost 30mn, a handsome profit. Despite all these I still think Rafa brought us the respect in Europe we deserved. AVB is an exciting choice. In short I think the owners should consider them. {Ed001's Note - rubbish, the Alonso issue was purely Rafa's failing. He wanted Alonso to play, Alonso wanted to be at the birth of his first child. It was that simple.}

16 May 2012 19:28:02
Just a quick question for the eds. Now that KK, Ian Ayre and Ian Cotton have left, or are about to leave, the club, is Luis Suarez now going to be in FSG's cross-hairs in light of the fallout of Evra-gate? Thanks. {Ed001's Note - yes.}

What do you mean"in the crosshairs" as in they will consider getting rid of him? Cheers {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Is Suarez next to go then? DP

I'll be severely disappointed if he leaves :(

And so he should be. Yes, he has talent, but goes down far too easy for my liking and has been extremely wasteful in front of goal. If we're to rebuild our image, for those reasons alone, I would let him go. But only let him go at the right price, which I believe is £30 million + I'm sure that the obviously destination would be PSG, where he could link up with his fellow countryman.

Matt

Matt

Love his skill, but hate his play-acting. If we can use the money to get a reliable goal-scorer, I will be happy.

16 May 2012 19:13:18
Eds, correct me if I'm off, but I seem to recall Suarez saying something along the lines of 'if Dalglish goes, I go,?

Thanks,

Your right!

No your not wrong i happen to have read the same article in the paper

Na mate it was media rubbish, i read the piece & there was nothing about suarez wanting to leave if dalglish goes.

In my opinion Suarez and Klown Kenny were intertwined without KK Suarez will be offloaded due to the whole debacle

Pardoe

Well if Suarez does not want to stay after the way they stood by him this season then let him go.The whole of Lfc stood by their motto now he should do likewise. Be very pissed if he doesn`t do so. Pinhead.

16 May 2012 19:09:06
A lot of stories going around twitter from journos who are mostly spot on that Dalglish was sacked because FSG/Henry want to sell Suarez this summer. Apparantly, Dalglish agreed after the Suarez/Evra incident that suarez would be sold this summer, When he went to Boston he went back on his word and told them either ''back me or sack me'', They chose to sack him, All the journos on twitter are saying suarez will be sold this summer and any manager coming in will be told this from the start... Paul, ynwa.

I don't believe this is true.
If Suarez is to be sold, it would only be done when his transfer value is at its maximum. Given this season it would make no sense to sell him. Another season of good performances and good behaviour and things may be different.....

NiRed

FSG rescued us us from the cowboys and for that they deserve gratitude. But does anyone else find it hard to hear John Henry sack KK and then describe him as "always going to be part of the family."? KK is perhaps the greatest legend this club has ever produced, he`s given us nearly forty years devoted service. Theyve been here two years and they presume to summon Kenny to the states to sack him. We know what the king has done for us, but what have they done for us? A net spend of £40million, no stadium and they feel they have sufficient authority to dethrone the King? I have a feeling we`ve been down this road before with owners who know nothing of the nature of our club. They have a lot of questions to answer by their actions - we`re all waiting.

King Kenny - legend now and always.

All these journos now of course know exactly what is happening, while a few hours ago they had not one bloody iota of an idea what was going on

Why would you sell your best
player,does'nt look good when
trying to attract other quality
players,and i thought fsg were
business people...............

To the guy that said what gives them the authority to dethrone the King, it's simple, they own the club. Kenny is a legend and always will be, but 8th is far from acceptable. Anyone else and they would have been sacked so why not Kenny, he said himself that no one was bigger than Liverpool football club and I'm afraid this includes him.

16 May 2012 19:08:10
FSG know what they are doing.
I have been told the following appointments are imminent:

David Dein : CEO - Ayre back to commercial
Txiki Bergiristain : DOF

Manager appointment will be after the above appointments with AVB the most likely.

Whilst Kenny is a legend and will remain so for many of us, an 8th place finish, money spent on players like Downing who he couldnt get the best out of, the handling of the Suarez affair and the way he became with the media in his last few months meant the owners had no choice. This is proof they are winners rather than sentimentalists!

NiRed

If this happens you will be competing with macca soon, hope it happens though.

Maybe AVB can convince, Falcao, Rodriguez and Pereira to join!

Whether you've been told that or not, I don't know, but happen to think all of those names are spot on and who I would choose. Ayre is better working back in commercial. The Suarez mess proved that he's not an appropriate CEO, but we shouldn't loose him, if at all possible. Let's hope you're right!

Matt

This does sound very plausible , Start of a new LFC chapter !!

Posted this myself but never got through they are also talking to klinsmen eds will back me up on this

I thought he was going to Roma ??

Check out @joescouse_lfc on twitter. He has posted some messages he got about dalliance that he received this week. All came to be true. He too seems to think avb has been approached or at least will be

16 May 2012 18:46:37
Twitter rumer that Benitez will be next manager of Liverpool gathering pace...

I'd be well happy if Benitez was the new old manager. He's been commentating on Spain, French and German football and no doubt has his finger on the pulse more than others.

I felt the club was safe and was extremely well drilled.

16 May 2012 18:46:35
Hi Eds,

I know it is difficult to comment now, and all rumours are rumours and nothing more, but I was wondering if you have any idea of the likelihood that AVB would be the next LFC manager?

He certainly fits the FSG mould and his tactics would suit our players.

Thanks {Ed001's Note - I don't have anything on AVB sorry.}

Is he not taking over Roma ed? {Ed016's Note - I heard something along those lines recently no reason why a few clubs would not want him as manager)

16 May 2012 18:46:14
Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague on Twitter: "About Rafa. There is no news whatsoever to tell. Nothing has changed with him in regards to Liverpool in the last weeks. Nothing to report. Pep Guardiola is definitively going on a sabbatical"

Count out Pep then...

16 May 2012 18:24:24
hi eds with the rumours about david dein potentially joinin liverpool do you think there could be any truth in these? personally id welcome him {Ed001's Note - yes there is truth in it. We have been trying to convince him to join for a while now.}

16 May 2012 18:54:54
Is Frank de Boer's future nailed down at Ajax or could he be a potential target to replace Kenny?

16 May 2012 18:35:13
A couple of days ago i asked a question to the ed's & Macca about the owners, mainly about their seeming insistance to 'cash in' on players.

With todays actions i can only say my opinion of them has dropped again...if they think someone like Roberto Martinez is the answer then we have serious problems, they will probably sell Suarez this summer also & we'll be in a right mess. Unless they pull Mourinho, Ancellotti or Guardiola out of the bag (unrealistic as the won't (a) pay for them or (b) give them enough £ to spend on players) i'm seriously dreading next season.

It was obvious we needed a couple of players in january to help us push on but nothing was done.

Any thoughts/comments?

A not happy Dorset-red {Ed002's Note - If Suarez is to be sold then it will not be cashing in - it will be for the reasons I have explained before.}

Gotta be Rafa. 2 CL finals in first 3 years. World class manager who brought us world class players on a limited budget. Almost won the league despite H&G trying to wreck the club with Rafa having to leave.

Torres, Reina, Alonso, Mascherano, Arbeloa - the list goes on. If Rafa had the FSG cash we'd be a major force again.

But to sell Suarez after he was welcomed back by the fans and players and has since represented the team and won us points, would be wrong and not consistent with the reasons given for the club selling.

If the owners told the club to send Suarez on gardening leave, until he is sold, then i'd understand.

Your saying your not impressed with them as you do not think Martinez is the answer, when did he get the managers position? 1) He hasn't, they are all rumours going around so don't listen too them. 2) To my knowledge the new manager will be given 70m to spend + any proceeds of sales of the dead wood in our squad, so give FSG a chance! Mike Wirral

Largely agree with Dorset... maybe this is modern football but where's the loyalty? Have we become like Chelsea? Hiring and firing.... very angry today in particular how this episode has played out.

Richards

Agree with Dorset red also them fans that was calling for kk to leave there u go.now where do we go not avb he was crap at chelski for a reason ( don't say to many big name players ) as from today I don't know what to say but one things is I am gutted kk has gone.I pray to god that this is the right thing that fsg have done long live the king we still love ya kenny

Back again,

To Mike Wirral, i never said Martinez was/will be the manager...just said someone like him, i.e manager of a 'smaller club'...much like Hodgson & look how that turned out & there will be no going back to Kenny if it all goes wrong again.

To Ed2, i appreciate your thoughts on why Suarez may leave and the owners reasons but as a fan the trouble is replacing him and the message it sends out.

Thanks

Dorset-red

I cannot understand all the panic because Kenny is gone. He is a decent bloke without doubt but we have had a poor season and changes had to be made.
Have to agree that to sell Suarez would be like bending over for Ferguson.That is just what he wants.We sell Suarez and we are kissing Fergusons @rs=.
CR

16 May 2012 18:13:38
Afternoon Ed seriously is there any realistic chance that we could get one of Klopp, Emery or Biesla?
Because the other names mentioned (especially Villas Boas and Martinez) would be a step down from KK {Ed001's Note - Emery is certainly a realistic target, I would say. Not so sure either of the other two are, I just don't know enough about Klopp's position to give an opinion on that.}

Emery has just been given the job at Spartak Moscow {Ed001's Note - cheers, I didn't know that.}

I thought Emery has gone to Spartak Moscow?

Emery was just announced as the new manger for Spartak Moscow this week, so I think he can be discounted as well

16 May 2012 18:41:33
Hey Eds, is AVB still closing in on the Roma job or do you think we might be able to enquire about him? Obviously we have no idea who FSG want at the minute. But if it was Martinez, that's a bad choice if you ask me.
Thanks guys! {Ed001's Note - I haven't kept in touch with his situation, I will ask the other editors for you.}

Out of interest, what do you think to AVB Ed001?

Long live KK

DP {Ed001's Note - not convinced by him, he shows a complete lack of tactical flexibility and an inability to suit his tactics and formation to the players he had at hand.}

AVB has turned down Roma but Inter may go for him

FSG own Roma as well don't they? {Ed016's Note - what? what? whaaat? never heard of this malarkey. I doubt this is even allowed)

16 May 2012 18:36:53
Quick question for 002, do Liverpool have any chance of Avb or contacted him at all? {Ed002's Note - If they were to contact him and make an offer I am sure he would consider it with Roma considering someone else.}

Lfc is a bigger job than Roma don't you think ed anyway {Ed002's Note - In favour of Roma is it is a different league.}

Thanks for the answer, just been told that we are after AVB.

Springer

Ed002, with regards to AVB, as u mentioned about him before that he would prob consider Roma, but he had his eye on another job, awaiting for that to possibly arise, does that role not seem likely now? {Ed002's Note - NOt just yet. I need to stand back from much of this as you will realise whict folk take the credit for Kenny leavinf etc..}

ED002 you seemed more than certain there was no chance of AVB until this rumor they've held discussions with him today ?

JP {Ed002's Note - Bet it was a fun time.}

Ed would you agree we can pretty much write off pep guadiola as he has stated his reason for leaving Barca was losing his love for the game due to the pressure... And I can't see as LFC in its current state being particularly stress free...?

Lfcmatt {Ed016's Note - I think Pep will be taking a break from football)

For once Collymore is right they need a big name proven track record and offer him serious money otherwise you might aswell go for a Brendan Rogers or Martinez - if they do you know how serious the Yanks are! Big name / little name that is the question. Mourinho woudl only come if there was serious cash available. doesn't mess about and turns things round quickly

Sadly I agree......but wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get Pep!

A change is as good as a rest, so they say

afan

Alan pardew as done a great job and fits the bill in many whys young ambitious built a better side with less money spent i would think he would be an ideal manager

I wanted to let people know that I have heard from the horse's mouth that David Dein has been in serious talks with FSG about becoming Chairman at LFC. He initially turned it down but that was a few weeks ago, it would not surprise me one bit to see him installed shortly.

That wouldn't be a bad move

Get over yourself - likewise anyone else on here giving it all the ITK carp - NO ONE is in the know when it comes to FSG and that's the way I like it, like the Liverpool of old. You're all just making fools of yourselves with your wife's mother's brother's hairdresser's aunt who works in the club shop rubbish. Even Macca got hung out to dry on this one. Give the ego bull a rest and enjoy the ride. Rafa for me all day long, having lived in the US I'm not convinced American businessmen will like that level of control though so 50-50 at best on that one but we'll see. New dawn, new season, new hope. Up the Reds.

Kauto star was it. One horse with a big mouth that fella. Cant keep nothing to himself.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

Dein is already doing the job

Spot on mate well said, no ones what's going on :)

eds will kuyt now stay? {Ed001's Note - and who will make the decision??}

Eds i mean that kuyt's only problem was kenny and he also said that he wants to stay.....so will he?

I think the question of who will make the decision works both ways ie who would tell him to go, he may stay and see who is appointed first and whether he fits in their plans as someone like Rafa might want him. Though personally IMO he would probably see it as good timing to leave now to end his career at another club/try his luck somewhere else.

Another question would be can you see any players wanting to leave now on the back of Dalglish's dismissal? Or is it a case of almost wiping the slate clean, would this favour someone like Aqualani? I guess not but who knows.

Andy Npton

Erm...kuyt? {Ed001's Note - but he wanted to go to get playing time. How does he know whether he would be in the new man's plans or not? So he is not really in a position to make a decision either!}

Dirk had no future at Liverpool next season under Kenny, let alone a new manager. And if you think he spoke to the Sun you probably think the Clangers live on the moon.

hey eds has ian ayre left the club aswell or are ppl on this jus talking bubbles {Ed001's Note - yes, I believe he is going too.}

Ian Ayre hasn't left

16 May 2012 17:50:26
Van Gaal would love to speak to liverpool according to he's agent.

Van gaal even talk to media that he will love to work with liverpool.

16 May 2012 17:40:44
Any chance of marco bielsa? An absolute genius

Would be the only replacement for Kenny worth mentioning.
Red4Life.

Absolutely no chance in a million years ! what planet are you on ?

Why not in a million years?

Eds not going to ask you to predict the future(like every other post)just like to know your opinion on van basten and rijkaard managerial ablities...personally i am a fan of both !and the ajax ethos is similar to ours! {Ed001's Note - I am not convinced by either personally. I would prefer Van Basten to Rijkaard, if I had to have one. I would not want Rijkaard anywhere near Anfield myself.}

Who is he ,not being thick but don't know him

Best call of the day so far

Don't know about Marco, but Marcelo is a mad man.

He's a class manager would love him as manager

I would say no chance either mainly as he doesn't speak a word of English.

Athletic bilbao manager has them playing great football even though they lost the uefa final

He was class against a madrid in europa final, 0-3 was it not!

I actually had info that he was offered the job today and tried to post it on here about 3, eds didn't publish it on page. Id say he has a real chance. Love developing talent and is very good tactically. yes they were beat in the europa final but that was down to some falcao magic!

Last Friday, Fabio Capello had a brief approach about the job of manager. I heard it was for Chelsea, but perhaps it was FSG ?

I still think it was for Chelsea, that's what my contact in the King's Road said.

Capello has quite a CV and is very strict.

However I am led to believe that FSG have been focusing on the management structure. It has been quite a clear out. They have been looking for somebody who already has a solid winning record.
They wanted to offer Dalglish something, but it was too tame in his mind and he parted company.

FSG have been very secretive, any speculation until the announcement is just that, speculation. Whatever the bookies or in-the-know Johnnies might say.

It is likely they have identified at least 3 candidates in order of preference. Things are never that simple. Third choice might become first, depending on circumstances. Only Steven Gerrard will be consulted.

Capello - no thanks, god no! Martinez getting backed in but then again Kevin keeGan has come in to 66-1 from 100.
Good news Gay Neville is still 1000-1

I think I agree with you, it will be Capello.
He's the only candidate with a successful track record and he has a point to prove in England.

What a load of tosh. "Only Steven Gerrard will be consulted". Do you honestly think a group like FSG and their billion dollar investments, would consult a player about the next managerial appointment? Good Lord.

Very plausible. I think Gerrard will have a big say in the next manager - as I suspect he did in the departure of Kenny.

Oh god let it be capello would be the perfect act to follow klown kenny

Pardoe

Stevie g to be consulted, absolute tosh....

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

The next person who comes in will most probably have to plan for life without carragher and gerrard. Glad Gerrard is captain for the Euros though deserves it properly unlike previous. To be fair to Roy he has done the right thing and obviously agreed with everything we have been saying about the JT Rio thing where as SG has deserved it all the time

16 May 2012 17:23:03
Do we know if Steve Clarke has left the club as well? {Ed001's Note - yes, he resigned.}

If FSG knew anything about football they would never have let steve clarke leave one of the best coaches in england

Shame, i really rated clarke. i think the next couple of days are going to be very decisive on liverpools future for the next few years. I fear if we sign the swansea or wigan manager they will not be able to handle the pressure and no quality players will want to play under a manager that is so unknown, and we will probably be in this exact position the same time next year, on the other hand if we manage to get a very top manager, they will only sign if given sufficient transfer funds which will lead to a great next season. lets hope FSG really do want us to be amongst the elite of europe again and splash the cash!

Yeah, it's worked out so well this year hasn't it?

SSN just said he hasn't left

GuvTOB

I have it from a very good source that Pep Guardiola is on his way!
I'm sad about Kenny but Pep is brilliant. Wears a great suit too!

In your dreams.

Don't be silly!

1) He's taking a break from football
2) He would not come to a club in disarray
3) He would not come to a club which sacks 2 managers in 18 months, 3 in 2 years.

Give it a rest, we're left scraping the barrel, deal with it.

And why would he come to liverpool ffs

Was that sauce 'HP'?

Don't know why everyone's so big on Pep. You or I could coach that Barca team. I actually think Xavi calls most of the shots.

I have it on good authority that you really don't have a clue whats going on

Pep is a great manager you can not argue with that! And i would welcome him with open arms but the truth is there is little or no chance of him even considering us when we are in such a mess! Mike Wirral

I think it's his only suit, always looks the same, and he shares it with Jamie Redknapp

How are Liverpool in disarray?? We're owned by 16 billionaires who have just proved they want the highest success, have the greatest fanbase the world has ever known and a history anyone outside of Milan and Madrid would kill for. Get a grip! It's called transition not disarray. Ridiculous.

Why use the same rubbish HP joke all the time? The guy posted source not sauce. It's neither funny nor original. Today was about a legend leaving the club. Show some imagination, please!

16 May 2012 17:16:40
Have it on 100% source! Martinez will be r new manager, rodolfo will be his assistant and that ex barca dof texi something will complete the team, mike marsh will step up as reserves manager! Robbie fowler will take the u18's! Thanls 4 your time ed's! Dave W! P.s thanks kenny, u brought stabillity back to anfield, and a trophy to boot! Also roberto good luck at liverpool, I always new you would be at a top club! Y..N..W..A great club, that will be back on top in time! BELIEVE!

Who is roberto?

Sorry roberto martinez,got it

Dont want him. not good news if true. we will see

Please. No... SSN might love Martinez but he's hardly a favourite among LFC fans.

Justice demands that it be Rafa but with proper backing this time.

F****** hope not

100% source looooooool

Am I the only Liverpool fan that thinks Roberto Martinez appointment would represent a huge lack of ambition from the owners. I mean really what has he won?

Martinez is unproven, at one point, wigan were close to relegation afew decent performances to keep them up does not make you a good manager. Will he better then kenny? We need someone with experience and who can attract and manage top players.

Dave W ?! is that suppose to be dave whelan.....nice one! Hope we can get someone a little bit more proven who will bring excitement to the club.

That would be a massive step backwards

I would love avb he plays attacking football, sure it didn't work at chelsea but thats because the players there are a bunch of egoistic pricks

I hope all fans turn against fsg they have totally disgraced our club. Kenny deserved another season defiently. I am really upset over this decision

Well you can still get 2/1 from the bookies so if your 100% put your house on it and you will have 3houses this time next week. Utter BS the truth is no one except FSG know who they are going for! Mike Wirral

So despite how FSG saved the club from going into administration you still want the fans to turn against them? You're an ungrateful toerag who disgraces all genuine LFC fans.

Grow up and stop trying to stir sh.t. whether you agree or not, provoking a revolt amongst fans is not going to help matters. move on and support your club you pr*ck.

Lads, it's time to take your head out of the ole it's in. If you are a top manager how attractive is the Liverpool job? New owners who make impatient decisions, poor transfer policy and resources, out dated stadium with no decision on future and will have an impact on any transfer policy. We need rebuilding, a new young hungry manager, solid transfer market activity with players who do not need development time or a settle in period. Stadium decision and a chairman with charisma and experience. Cut the slack at the club, investment in youth for the academy only and proper players in who play in the spirit and tradition of the club we love, pass and move, control and win.

^^^ you make it sound so easy!

I know this column is meant for rumours but at least try and cheer us up by saying Mourhino or Guardiola. If Martinez is appointed I am going to hibernate until the owners come to their senses!

16 May 2012 17:15:52
the manager who i like to see at liverpool is martin oniell what the chances ed/macca {Ed001's Note - none, thankfully, he is worse than Hodgson.}

Agree with ed here

John

For the love of God NOOOOOOOOOO!

Well done ed my mate wants klinnsman!!!!!!

I don't want him but perhaps that's a little harsh he has done well where ever he went

If we get O'neil, I will personally fly to Boston and pelt Henry and Werner with veg!
SA

Worse than hodgson? lol :D :D

O'neill is quality

Stop with the martin oneill to liverpool . not good enough

O'Neill certainly is not "quality"

Chris in Tamworth

At least oneill got aston villa 6th, kenny didnt manage to get liverpool that high.

I Agree

Agree with the ed! no way martin oneil/martinez/lambart/rodgers

Ed001, on what basis do you say that O'neill is worse than Hodgson? He's passionate, been successful and I reckon if we don't snap him up he would be the next man utd manager... Your thoughts? {Ed001's Note - let them have him. He is clueless. Refuses to change a team no matter how tired players are. Tactically inept and plays long ball football. Buys players on big wages, then sits them on the bench and never gives them a game. On what basis has he been successful? He managed Celtic at a time when his only rival was Rangers, managed by Alex McLeish, and we have all seen what a 'wonderful' manager he is haven't we? May as well get McLeish, or Walter Smith, or Fat Scam or any of the other long ball hoofers who play 10 behind the ball.}

16 May 2012 17:14:33
Eds d u no if we are getin any of these players
MILNER
BOJAN
DEMPSEY
and do you no if stearling will be starting more games for us next season or is he goin to spurs {Ed001's Note - seriously? You do know we have no one to make the decisions on players right now don't you?}

In case you havent noticed we have no manager!

How do you class yourself as a fan? No manager yet were going to make signings that the new manager may not want! Who are we Chelski?

Lol deadly

16 May 2012 17:03:29
Eds/Macca

Rumours circulating admittedely on Twitter that Ian Ayre has left the club?! Also rumours that David Dein is soon to be joining or will at least help with the new manager selection? Can you shed any light on this?

Finally, do you think it likely Steve Clarke will stay or does it depend on what happens with the manager, DoF etc. Or perhaps he will just oversee things for the forseeable future?

Cheers Eds! {Ed001's Note - I have said all along Dein was targeted to take the role that Ayre pretty much did. I wasn't sure if he was going to be appointed over Ayre or instead, seems that has been answered! I still don't know if Dein has accepted, there was talk of Arsenal making him a new job offer. But, if he has taken the role, he will be pretty much running the club, like he did at Arsenal. Very much a hands on role and will be involved in the DoF decision too.}

Ed, what would Dein be (or whoever gets the job)? The CEO or another post? People should not be panicking, if he gets the job of running the club on a daily basis and Txiki Begristain gets the DoF job, we will be in a much healthier state than we have been before. Obviously, a manager will be hired. {Ed001's Note - no idea what his job title would be, but he would be basically the CEO, yes.}

So Ed 001 you think david dein could possibly be coming in? Did he get approached? {Ed001's Note - he has been approached a while ago, prior to DC's removal I was discussing it on here. Some people thought it was to replace DC, but I was, and still am, sure it was for the role Ayre has now left.}

If we were to get Dein that would be an excellent appointment he was an a superb CEO at Arsenal he may see LFC as a challenge and he is a football man not just a bean counter

Dein has been working for the yanks for over a month

16 May 2012 16:59:16
Hearing now that Ian Ayre is also gone...so who exactly is running the club?

Mickey mouse apparently

Ian Ayre has not gone, he is on ssn now talking about Kenny's departure and how they will be starting the search for a new manager tomorrow {Ed003's Note - We have seen }

Good point, who exactly is advising FSG?

16 May 2012 16:58:54
Hello Eds, So Kenny has gone, the King has abdicated! Did what he had to do - come in and stabalise the club again, managed two cup finals but couldn't handle the league and had no relationship with the media. Our club's reputation is in tatters, admittedely not all down to him. THANKS FOR THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF KING KENNY!
Eds/Macca do you think any of these managers are possible/likely?
- Louis Van Gaal
- Brendan Rodgers
- Paul Lambert
- Roberto Martinez
- Robbie Di Matteo (If he doesn't stay at Chelsea)
- AVB
- Capello
- Bert Van Marjwiik
- Joachim Low
- Rafa
- Sammy Lee (Joke)
- Guardiola
- Mourinho
- Marco Bielsa
- Unai Emery
- Maradona
- Martin Jol
- Alan Pardew
- That ginger bloke from across the Mersey
- Claudio Ranieri
- Massimo Allegre
- Luis Enrique
- Hiddink
- Ancelotti
- Lippi

I know it is a mammoth list but I'm sure many fans would like an input from and Ed or Macca on these names, some more realistic than others. I think we should go for a more experienced manager, not a young upcoming manager. Also, do you think the new DoF will help with the manager or vice-versa or will they be brought in together? Inputs welcomed greatly!

Cheers Eds, the best rumours site, dedicated to LFC!

JamietheRed {Ed001's Note - impossible to say yet mate.}

I would love either Rafa, Guardiola, Mourinho, Bielsa or AVB

Maradona? martin jol?

All of the above except Martinez, Lambert and Rogers.

Maradona ? lol

I don't want a manager who's friendly with the media. I liked how Kenny handled them. For me, I'd prefer Jugren Klopp from Dortmund.

Maradona.. lippi ..you on the gear ? lol

Its got to be Rijkarrd or Hiddink!

16 May 2012 16:56:06
if Kenny leaves, any chance of Jurgen Klopp or Joachim Low

Memo to the next LFC Manager, DONT win the CARLING Cup, at the end of the season they get sacked................

Hopefully you're joking
why not say AVB or Grant etc etc

Quality in house LFC Manager needed promote from within

No And not him For liverpool

Klopp all day long or even bring back Raffa

Both are great managers and would welcome either

16 May 2012 16:55:31
Hi Eds,

Love the sight, constantly come on through out every day to read the different thoughts and rumours.

Now that Kenny has gone, I no that the apparent front runner is Martinez, but do you think there is any chance we would look at Villa-Boas? Young manager with great potential.

Thanks {Ed001's Note - I would expect FSG to look at every available option before making their decision.}

Neither are up to the job especially AVB

Villas boas would be my choice.

SB96

16 May 2012 16:47:12
Did Kenny really go all the way to Boston just to get fired or was it not the intentions of the owners to get rid of Kenny when he went or did he leave himself. Any info Eds? Macca? Anyone? {Ed001's Note - as far as I can find out, Kenny went there and asked them to back him or sack him, but do it now so the club could get on with the summer business quickly. Obviously FSG felt they could not back him.}

Disgraceful that Kenny has gone

Went you doing on him he is liverpools dont do lat more then
manger

16 May 2012 16:36:48
let the manager rumours begin

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have confirmed Kenny Dalglish has been sacked as the club'smanager.

Bruce Arena

Ronald DeBoer is the man

I don't know what Ronald is the man for.. I would rather sign his brother, the Ajax manager, Frank.

16 May 2012 16:36:07
Kenny & Clark Gone

On the lfc website ,sad day for lfc who we getting now ?

Disgrace.

KENNY will never walk alone

Sad but inevitable He'll still be King Kenny to most of us Reds,
but his support to some of the players really was not returned by some of the so called stars which are just not good enough. Sadly I will miss him, I hope Kenny still come home to Anfield.

YNWA Kenny always a bright star
Let the next one begin, please NOT Rafa¦..

16 May 2012 16:35:27
Kenny Dalglish leaves Liverpool manager's post

Kenny Dalglish has left his post as Liverpool manager.

The 61-year-old has paid the price for Liverpool's poor performances in the Barclays Premier League.

Dalglish's departure comes after he held face-to-face talks with principal owners John W Henry and Tom Werner in Boston on Monday.

The Scot had been expected to depart on holiday on Wednesday but he postponed that and remains on Merseyside

Kenny deserved another season defiently
O'Neill in for me though

For the first i am ashamed to say i`m a liverpool fan ,To all those who called for his head hang your heads in shame and just wait till you see the flobs of managers this crowd that own liverpool put in.I`m upset just reading his statement and having to see the list of rubbish managers people are calling for.You can call me a tit or whatever but at least i stood by the greatest liverpool fc supporter there is .Next we can sit back and see some crap manager who wont give a toss what happens take over.
Thats my rant over Eam.YNWA

16 May 2012 16:35:01
hi eds what about ganso, I think he is a great talent, would we stand a chance of getting him and are we interested? {Ed001's Note - without a manager or DoF?}

Ganso is the most overrated player on planet earth!

Do you mean Ganso for manager or DoF?

16 May 2012 16:34:46

***** BIG BIG NEWS********

Rafa has held talks with FSG. He explained how he would be able to develop the current squad of players and bring in high calibre European players even though Liverpool finished 8th.

This will be reveiled within the next 48 hours.

Watch this space

Yeah its apparantly between rafa and martinez

has Clark gone as well? not good for his CV

And your name isssss ?

JP

Please let this be some kind of sick Manc joke

You have quite clearly just made that up in the hope he gets appointed...

If rafa comes back I'm turning my back

Reveiled? Unveiled surely.

Hopefully, is much better than Martinez

Reviled more like......

Please NOT Rafa¦..

Do we not learn lessons from the past? we have already proved that going back to old managers doesn't work. Liverpool needs to look to the future with someone new.

Not great news rafa is a major step backwards ,gonna have a big divide in the dressing room again ,can only work on a big budget ,thats if only fsg can support his targets

Noo plaease nooo

No to rafa please what he did to inter was criminal we need new ideas to go forward not to be looking back all the times.

Rafa is 100000 x better than martinez. M would be an absolute disaster if appointed.

You lot of numpties rafa will bring the most important thing back to lfc that is champions league

To all the Rafa brigade - FSG have stated that their policy is to bring young and exciting talent to Anfield. Benitez was extremely reluctant to play any young players in the first team as he didn't trust them. He only played Jack Robinson at Hull as a political statement.

The trade-off for bringing the ego back is that you can say goodbye to the likes of Sterling and Suso as they will have precious few opportunities to make the first XI. It's easy for Benitez to make promises that he can bring the squad forward on a budget, but once the contract is signed the whinging about more money and financial constraints will begin all over again.

Be careful what you wish for people, because when Rafa doesn't work out, where are you going to turn to then?

Will Rafa be given enough time if he comes in? FSG are not going to give him another 6 years to attempt another shot at the league title after like 5 years into his tenure.

If he can't deliver within a season, we'd be back where we started yet again. Another manager...

Mr. Nokneejerking

If you have read an Epic swindle, you'll realise what Rafa actually had to deal with. Looking at his previous tenure, he won the champion's league and FA cup. Took us to second in the league with our highest points tally in seasons, that under most seasons would have seen us win the league. All the critics who say he upset Alonso forget that the previous season to Alonso's world beating season his form was shocking which was why Benitez wanted to bring somebody else in. (In my mind that gave Alonso the kick up the arse he needed and he kicked on and played like a world beater the following season. See opta stats for yourself for both those seasons) If you read the book (Epic Swindle) it's amazing what Rafa actually had to put up with. This in my mind magnifies what he actually did for us. And lets not forget his heart is with the Liverpool fans, he always praised their support, he donated £96,000 to the Hillsborough Families in recognition of the 96. (I know that last bit was sentiment, but when looking at him as a candidate, I'd take that in to account in addition to him being a world class manager. I really do think he should be given another chance. {Ed016's Note - He is tactically brilliant. But would the owners really hire another previous manager?)

Who exactly from the youth team would you have liked Rafa to play while he was at the helm? The reason nobody got a game according to you was because they were all crap at the time, he reorganised the youth set up so that the youth coming through now would come here. If you disagree, name me one player who he had available in the youth set up who is now at another club doing really well. On top of that, under Rafa we had I believe the 3rd youngest team in the prem at one point, so exactly how young do you want to go?

{Ed016's Note - He is tactically brilliant. But would the owners really hire another previous manager?) Yes, I think they would, I think Rafa would have won the league if it were not for the previous owners.

DALGLISH EXIT
BBC Sport's Tim Hague on Twitter: "So Kenny #Dalglish leaves #Liverpool. I'm hearing Roberto #Martinez is the Premier League manager approached

DAn

Likewise. martinez deal has already been done.

The Ajax manager

"im hearing" ? is that the new "a source understands" or "i believe" , twaddle !

A friend i knows is a business partner with whelan, in a meeting today he stated deal had been done and that dalglish was heading for the exit. believe what you want.

16 May 2012 16:31:38
Dalglish is out, I've heard on very good source that Rafa will be named new boss within a week, remember where you heard it first.

arun.the.red

Would love rafa back - he still has his house in liverpool

I'd prefer him above others, after all he knows the club

Hey fellow indian what is your source?
DALJIT REDS FAN

I would approach guardiola and see if he is interested

I think we have already proved that going back to old managers doesn't work. Liverpool needs to look to the future with someone new.

*vomits*

Break the bank & get Guardiola as Manager and Tixi whats his face as DOF..... get Rodolfo up to assist pep and see the young talent flourish within a year!! Alan Hansen once famously said you don't win anything with kids, the mancs did and so can we.... Great youth setup and so many promising young players busting their chops to get a chance...lets give to them and show no team any respect... WE ARE LIVERPOOL YNWA

Enough of ex managers it didnt work someone new please. we need to move forward not to be looking back all the time

Would love rafa back - he still has his house in liverpool

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this a necessary pre-requisite to being able to get an interview for the job? It's just that my son is a student in Liverpool and lives in the area, so should I tell him to get his name down too?

Can Rafa do it in 1 season, though? He definitely won't be getting another 6 years again from FSG. Would he deliver in 1 season? I very much doubt it.

Mr. Nokneejerking

As an everton fan would love rafa back

hey eds. i belive liverpool have intrest in adam johnson. if hazard goes to man . city johnson might go to us. is this true {Ed001's Note - and who is choosing these players?}

I'll do Ed, you just stay gorgeous and it will be taken care of.

Boozley

"who's choosing these players?"

the Anfield cat ? :(

Is Johnson any better than Downing?

I love eds reply to most comments does anyone think before writing in

Kenny's gone boys and girls

JP

Sad but good news for the long run. 20th century manager in the 21st century wasn't working

I'm hearing it too. Brace yourselves for a crazy summer.

BJH YNWA

Bad move by fsg

On BBC.

BJH YNWA

Shame I think, what clown will they appoint now ? Hope not Martinez do not think he is ready. But hopefully it will be done soon and not taking forever

Haha he is rubbish.

Does not matter who manages Liverpool, they will not be in the top 4 anytime soon. CFC for LIFE!

Owners are a disgrace

Yep, it's definite, and I can't say I'm surprised. I will always respect him as a player and as a person, but let's look forward to a new era now. -SH-

Gutted! Dont want Rafa - he just lost it!

Its upsetting the way he got sacked...they should have atleast moved him upstairs...rafa 2 kum bck is only way forward

Ian Ayre also maybe.

JP

I feel for the man but it may have been for the best, we'll see wont we.

Hopefully he'll stay within the club.

JP

YNWA Kenny always a bright star
Let the next one begin, please NOT Rafa¦..
Lets go for new blood, Carra?

I think this is a positive move by owners it shows they mean business and reputation counts for nought ...just hope they put the RIGHT guy in

16 May 2012 16:15:45
Looks like the King is gone, rumors coming from Oli Kay, Tony Evans and Richard Buxton. Looks like it could be happening. Sad times.

16 May 2012 16:15:36
All reliable journo's now tweeting that Dalglish is gone.

16 May 2012 16:14:52
Hey eds, I know this seems abit far fetched but is there any truth in the berbatov rumour? The evidence backs me up here that he scored goals and that is what we need. Great site btw. {Ed001's Note - no.}

16 May 2012 16:07:03
hi eds we obv need a midfielder who can cover/ if not challenge lucas for his place in the team so what about gago or banega could they be a possibility? also what about bojan for another striker after all roma are not performing well and rumours are he is not very happy there {Ed001's Note - impossible to say right now.}

Surely would be worth having a look at thou {Ed001's Note - and who is going to look?}

In all fairness i wrote this before the news broke

16 May 2012 15:48:36
Ed is it true that bojan is at melwood
{Ed001's Note - no idea, doubt it though.}

Without a manager and a DOF ? I doubt it

16 May 2012 15:48:31
KOPWATCH:
Txiki Begristain has held talks with LFC over DOF role. Expected decision soon.

Tugger

I heard the same thing but its hard to know what is true atm. Either alot of info has been leaked in one go or its all bull. I personally beleive the KK gone rumours though.

Rah, ynwa

Good Help us..............

16 May 2012 15:46:23
a current Premier League manager, has been approached by Liverpool

source: Talksport

I dont know how reliable they are, if they are, but just passing along

Cheers

Hope it isnt martinez - but im willing to bet it is.

Fergie?

I have been listening to Talksport all day, and they are not saying that ... but they are speculating in Martinez and Rodgers. I think the rumour comes from a interview with the owner of Wigan this morning. He said that Martinez will not leave Wigan for Aston Villa. He said that if a big club come asking it would be different. Liverpool is a club like that, but they have Kenny and i dont belive anything will happen there....

16 May 2012 15:44:03
eds do u know if theres any interest in us getting adam johnson from city great player who can play on the right or left as downing is a pudding! cheers bigmacca {Ed001's Note - none that I know of.}

'Downing is a pudding' - I like that!

16 May 2012 15:42:00
levazzi to psg for 27 m. euros , liverpool stil sleep ...offf ..

16 May 2012 15:15:43
hi eds... thanks for all your hard work keeping this site updated so often. just wondering if you know of any players from the reserves or youths who have been released or not offered a contract and not returning to club next season? {Ed001's Note - I don't think the released list has been done yet mate.}

16 May 2012 12:01:40
eds what is happening with the cole situation and what are your views on if kenny will stay or go?

Cheers JJ {Ed002's Note - Cole has some options which may include another year on loan at Lille, moving to PSG or finding a club in England. Perhaps even returning to Liverpool.}

A fit Joe Cole would not be a bad addition to the Liverpool squad, if he is happy not to start every game.

Andy Npton {Ed001's Note - he hasn't been fit since he was about 17!}

I met him last night on the eurotunnel to France and chatted with him about the situation. I emailed the ed's this morning asking if I was allowed to post what he said but didn't get a reply. {Ed001's Note - no email was received mate.}

So what was the content of this email, did he say Kenny was gone? Bit late now!

I heard he had a good season at Lille though havent seen any of the games, not sure he will ever be the same player he was at Chelsea or younger like you say ed.

16 May 2012 13:39:03
Mohamed Diame (Wigan midfielder): Clint Dempsey (Fulham striker): Rasmus Elm (AZ Alkmaar midfielder): Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow midfielder): Milos Krasic (Juventus forward): Eljero Elia (Juventus winger): Luuk de Jong (FC Twente striker): Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich winger): Hulk (Porto striker): Ibrahim Afellay (Barcelona forward):!!! they are all linked wit liverpool! wat u think ed {Ed001's Note - Robben? Hulk? Not a chance.}

You've just regurgitated this from the official site

I would say robben n hulk would never come. but why do they always rumour us with players we cant get {Ed001's Note - the papers linked Sunderland with Llorente, it is about exciting the fans.}

I think we do not need any rumours at this moment. There is no DOF, Comunications director and even the manager is not sure of his status. It is only a shell.

Everyone except hulk and robben on that list there is a chance of getting, big or small

16 May 2012 13:36:59
martin skrtel will not be leaving , rumour too bed now!

He said: "The only thing I can say is it is not true because I have never said anything like I want to leave the club or handed in a transfer request.

"I have a contract at Liverpool and I am happy here at the club. I haven't thought about leaving the club.

"The things that were in the press are rubbish.

lw12

He has never said he wants to leave. He has just expressed concerns that he is missing out on Champions League football during his best footballing years and wants to see which way the club will go. He loves the club as much as we do.

I remember people on this site didnt want him at the club at the beginning of the season, when i was one of the people that backed how good he was

I suspect it was leaked to his agent, prior to new contract talks

When i read the initial story, i thought that it is much more likely to something Agger would be saying.

I personally believe Agger might go, i never thought Skertl will go.

16 May 2012 13:36:05
Just wondering if there is any interest in Yakubu. With Blackburn now sunk he would be a good addition to the club as a " cheap " and proven prem goal scorer {Ed001's Note - seriously? Is this 'link us with the worst players we can think of week'?}

Wow Ed hold up a mo! This poster has a point the Yak could do a job for us. I would love to see that happen.

He'd more than suarez and carrol we all know that!

If were considering yakubu then what do you think of signing my nan eds? would proberly be a better choice {Ed001's Note - I would rather have your nan, she has much better movement.}

He scored the first half season {Ed023's Note - You only see the highlight reel of Yakubu - he isn't good enough for Liverpool}

I agree.... he could do the job...good as a backup striker and he does get goals... if we had someone as prolific as him this year we might have been further up the table!! just saying!

Did none of you see him for everton or for nigeria at the world cup !?

17 goals in the league {Ed001's Note - from a player who never moved out of the goal mouth, except to go for a half time sit down and rest. You may as well buy a fat lamp post and stick it in the goal mouth, it will have much more movement if the wind blows. Oh and he is injury prone.}

How many times did Liverpool cross the ball when no-one was in the box?? At least Yak wud be in there, time to be realistic Ed we're not in a position to be buying the best players anymore and a 17 goal haul is good enough to be a squad player with us {Ed001's Note - he is crap. He earns more money than Suarez. Are you still wanting his dross in our team?}

Emily heskey is on a free. Why not pair them both.
Robbie

Yak is like the fourth/fifth top scorer in the prem, wouldnt be bad for short term, hes scored a lot of goals considering he is in one of the relegated clubs, i say why not? hes a tank!

16 May 2012 12:25:26
Eds, Is there any interest from LFC for Lee off Bolton? He would be brilliant on the right wing for us. {Ed001's Note - he has been out injured all season. How would anyone know if there was interest? We weren't scouting him on the treatment table.}

16 May 2012 10:38:30
Hey Eds/Macca

There are so many rumours flying around the various, sites, blogs etc. Even on here, there people claiming certain things to be 100% true both him going and staying.

I'm gathering the knowledge/info you receive may be by the hour/day/week, etc

So i'm wondering if you have heard any more from your 'sources'

I personally hope we start afresh, with a whole new staffing structure, including change of manager - I have heard every argument for and against, and along with my own views, and in my opinion, I believe we can do better, with someone who is a proven winner (in this current age/season)

Cheers for any info eds/macca

Ray {Ed001's Note - I have got nothing new today, as of yet.}

Proven winners? Can you name any that is available at the moment? The squad is being rebuilt and needs rime, though the first season isn't great, there are signs that indicate the future is quite bright. Since there are no managers available right now, keeping dalglish is the obvious answer. Yes, I agree he isn't a tactical genius like rafa but he has something that no one else has. That is belief in his squad. We just need to look at how Henderson, Carroll and shelvey has improved this season. Dalglish has given them belief which is showing. Next season, with a couple of additions I am sure we will be in a better position.

Have faith in dalglish.

STB

I agree. Start fresh. The club is bigger than enyone. I have been supporting LFC since 1960.

I don't expect any annoucements soon as I have read that both Kenny and Steve Clarke have both gone on holiday. So expect the rumours to rumble on for another couple of weeks

FSG can't sack Dalglish.

It's a no brainer, if they do, there is a far too large contingent of fans who believe Dalglish deserves the chance to contiune rebuilding. As soon as the new man lost a few games this group would be calling for Dalglish.

If FSG keep Dalglish and gets Champions League they're faith will have paid off and improve their own credibility.

If Dalglish fails and walks or sacked all the fans will likely believe it was the right decision.

Stick By Him.

I agree the club is bigger than anyone (Including club legends)which I have heard Kenny quote aswell on a few occasions...If reports are to believed, and that is that John Henry offered him another role in the club, and refused stating he wanted to be the manager and no other role! To me, he is putting himself over the club, as he clearly isn't the man for the job...He came back and we rode the crest of good feeling, he then had a 100 million, and a full season, and took us backwards, if he had been anyone else, ie Roy Hodgson, or Rafa Benitez (when we finished 7th) everyone would be calling for his head, the fact its Kenny, alot of peoples views are clouded by emotion...
How do you know that no managers are available? None of us know that...I'd sooner give to Rijkaard, (apparently deschamps is available aswell) if we couldn't get someone like Klopp...As I said, I would look for someone, in the top leagues, starting at championship winning teams, in the last 2 seasons, then things like financial management, transfers, the way they play, etc and work out from that who would be viable, on all levels...Kenny is a club legend, but now as of 2012 and beyond, IN MY OPINION, isnt the man who will win us the championship or even have us fighting for 4th spot

Cheers

Ray

If Kenny was to leave, and I hope he's not who do all these people who want him out suggest should take his place? we are not going to attract any top name managers so the only ones we could get are the likes of Martinez who because he saved his team from relegation is now apparently good enough to manage Liverpool, if any of the teams who finished below us in the league had got to two cup finals and finished 8th in the table the press and media would be saying what a good team they were but because it is Liverpool the season has been a failure, we have to be patient and we cannot just keep changing manager's willy nilly, Kenny was given a 3 year contract to sort things out so we should let him carry on for at least one more year.

You should all go stick on chelsea jerseys you idiots it took city 2 seasons to get were they are and look at all the money they spent. kenny and clarke are only there half of last season and this full season .. ok we havnt done great in the prem thats fare enough put two cup finals says something is working hitting the post how many times is another factor you have to take in suarez missing cuz of evra, lukas injury was a masive loss. im sick of listening to so called plastic pool fans sayin the manager has to go muppits is what you are... this was befor my time but even i know it took fergie atleast 3 seasons to get united up and running so give ur s**t talk a rest cuz we are not chelsea fans turning our back on someone after 1 full season..

16 May 2012 10:22:37
Hi eds,

The liverpool daily post say Man city are going to go for skrtel any truth in that he is my fave player would hate to see him go.

Thanks {Ed001's Note - I honestly don't know.}

Skrtel not going anywhere, just seen his interview on the website.

Id probably let him go. Man city will pay over the odds so i definitely think we could replace him for less than we sell him with at least as good a player. Especially if there's any truth that he wants to leave. But i've always been firmly of the "Skrtel gives away silly fouls and makes a lot of mistakes" camp. Consistent, body on the line type but not an outstanding footballer by any means.

Red Pete II

He just come out and said he is staying and that the newspapers are talking s**t so end off

16 May 2012 11:00:08
What is going on at liverpool.

Utd and ferguson are talking with Kagawa, chelsea have marin in the bag, tottenham close to vertonghen deal, arsenal have bagged podolski and what are we doing?? holding meetings to discuss our management position. FSG need to pull the finger out TODAY! back him or sack him and get on with signing players.

playing catch up as usual.

Couldn't agree more.
AH

How do you know what they are talking about? Everything is kept secret and there are many rumours flying about. Maybe they are discussing players that we want. All will be revealed in good time. Maybe there are 7 or 8 players that we are holding talks with now. Maybe there is a new manager. Maybe they are discussing the quality of the pies at Anfield . Patience and support , quite easy really
Robbie

Stop panicking lad ya makin a fool out of ya self the British transfer window has been open for just 3 days the main 1 doesn't open till the 1st of July loads of time to go I would rather they got the men they want and take couple of months doin it rather than buying quick an bad just to please deluded people like you

I think you need to pipe down. How do you know the meeting was to hire or fire him? Its is the media thats blown it out of proportion. He could have been there getting the approval to sign 5 big name tragets before the Euro's and discussing next season, you don't know do you. And who's to say we want or need the players you have mentioned certainly not you. So get back in your box or going support one of the aformentioned teams.

Voice of Reason

People like you judge success based upon transfer activity. If you don't have the ridiculous resources of Man Citeh then how would you suggest your particular addiction should be addressed. On top of this most would suggest any faults and successes of a team can be firmly placed in the lap of the manager (AVB serves as an example perhaps?) so based on such daliances I guess manager is a pretty important position and worth addressing before ALL else.

Well we been doing it for 22 seasons why change.

Have to say I agree. From what I've read on this site it sounds like we're possibly close to signing Elm. I don't know a great deal about him but I would have thought a central midfielder is our lowest priority with us crying out for 2 quality wingers, back up defensive mid, and a Striker. My own opinion is wingers are vital in the premier.league, look at who past great sides have had; Giggs, Beckham, Ljungberg, Pires, Ronaldo, Duff, Robben. We've not had a winger of that quality since John Barnes, we never seem to learn!

Ha ha i am deluded??

think you need to get real pal. all other top clubs in england are doing business already or have some done. what are we waiting for if targets are lined up ? too slow out of the traps and voice of reason - if media are blowing it out of proportion why dont FSG come out today with a simple statment saying they are backing dalglish and all this nonsense and negativity surrounding the club is put to bed . i can understand the argument that maybe they should not have to respond to such media garb but surely such negative stories about our manager leaving should be adressed immediately if it is not true.

All those clubs have either qualified for the CL or the possibility is still there, so players flock to them, understandably. LFC is not in that position, i am afraid, so signing players will take more time.

Mr.Nokneejerking

Yes, this is the Liverpool way. No wonder we are heading in the oppoiste direction.

Well if the meetings are to discuss management then surely sorting out the long term stability of the club is more important than transfers although I admit the two go hand in hand. You can't surely buy players until you know who the manager is. Players would want to know that they are wanted by the person who is going to be in charge and potential managers will want to know that they can bring in their own targets once they have assessed the squad. Just be patient mate and don't expect immediate success because you will be dissapointed.
RealisticRed

Just frustrating when it comes to getting players in. Do not want to be paying over the odds for an average joe who happens to have a good euros.

Thats the most sense iv heard all effin week. back him or sack him now!!

Do what harry does - snatch them on a bargain on transfer deadline! Singred

100% correct!!

Other teams have been linked with players, we have been linked with players. Only about 2 deals are actual certainties and the euro window doesn't open til July. Last year we weren't slow, got our targets( good or bad) WTF did you expect 3 days in?? and yes potentially the biggest change could be happening- the manager( good or bad) so perhaps it's better to prioritize that?? We've been linked with dozens of players, I'm sure interest has been registered so I dont think there is any need to panic, especially about players potentially going to other teams which we have never shown an interest in!!

Swishcleaner

Plenty of talent to be got for small prices . we need to start been really clever in the market with both players coming in and the ones we let go.

I agree and also think kenny should be sacked.clueless in the transfer window and clueless in team selection...... redconor

What do you think they're doing? And you person those clubs can't sign them for more than a month so that'll give us more than enough time to try and get a new decent player (s)

16 May 2012 10:11:36
Lads, not a red myself but would just liek to confirm Andy Carroll is 100% Confirmed in Euro squad - Fa source

Congrats

LFC have 4 players going with a possibility of a 5th (Henderson) if Parker can't overcome his injury. Nice going, LFC!

Mr. Nokneejerking

Why you congratulating us. were not andy carroll

Know people inside the club itself and they all seem to reckon Kenny's staying. He'll be given £70m plus player sales this summer. They want world class striker, winger, and midfielder. The ones mentioned are Soldado, Muniain and Gaston Ramirez, although this could change depending on price. Doni, Aurelió, Kuyt, Maxi will all be leaving this summer, Kenny is furious at Charlie Adam's performances (when he was fit) he's expected to leave too, they'll listen to offers as low as £10m for Downing also but he's expected to stay if that valuation is not met.

Definately everyone's choice. Dont need to put it on "people inside the club"

70m Ok 40m on Holt and 30m Jarvis?

I doubt there is a fixed transfer budget.. FSG doesn't work that way..

Wish this were all true

Let Adam stumble back to blackpool where he came from. I never thought for a second he was good enough to play for Liverpool. I'd carry him on my back whilst crawling on broken glass to get him the hell out of our club. Complete diasaster of a player and our worst signing last Summer by a country mile.

Well this is obviously a lie. Kenny ain't staying is he

Rob

Where you talking about a golf club or Liverpool Football Club :)

16 May 2012 09:51:15
Dalglish said only Aurelio will be leaving this summer

Even though maxi is leaving us and maybe kuyt, aqua, cole, Pacheco and possibly even Johnson?

AH

No way , if he stays he needs to get rid of all the Dead Wood for sure. to many average players ,.,.

Kenny would never give a list of contracted players he will let leave, the value would then be reduced as clubs know that they are surpluss to requirements.
IOM Red

Well no dalglish now so hopefully there will be more

16 May 2012 09:15:58
hi eds ,
have we had any interest in fiorintina's stephan jovetic. in my opinion he wud bring the attacking flair that we have been missing last season. Thanks {Ed002's Note - Arsenal did show previous interest, but Roma, Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if and when he becomes available if the price is acceptable.}

People who say 'bring in Jovetic' probaly have not seen him play since he played well against us in the champions league about four years ago. Hasn't he got a ledley king style problem with his knees? Last player we want to sign is someone whose will spend more time with the physios than on the pitch.

Long live the king

Rafa wanted to sign him in the summer of 09 but H&G and pulled the plug on that deal.

16 May 2012 09:02:41
hi eds has there been any interest in david texiera seems as if could be a decent buy? what you think? {Ed002's Note - There was reported interest in Texeira January - now, I don't know.}

16 May 2012 08:32:46
Hi Eds
How you heard anything about a move for Diame? I know he's on a freebie but he can't even get into Wigans team so why is he good enough for us. We've got enough dross in midfield as it is. We need some attacking quality not more mediocrity. Or am I being unfair to the player? Is he better than I think he is?

thanks

RedDan {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any "move" for him at this time.}

Why are you asking the ed if you may be wrong about Diame or if he is "Better then you think he is"..... ? ? Is it because you havent really seen him play ? If that is why, then describing him as "Dross" just about sums up a lot of posters on here.

I think this guy would be great backup to lucas, on a free aswell snap him up kenny

He only didn't get into Wigan's first 11 in the second half of the season because he didn't fit in to their system that they adopted after he left for the african cup of nations. The 5-3-2, with the two wing backs, which worked very well for them. He's one of their best players, he's got power, pace and commitment to a tackle, very akin to Momo Sissoko at his prime. For free he's a bargain.

Have you actually seen Diamé play? He's quick, strong, agile, got great feet and a great shot and pass on him. He'd be a fantastic buy, escpecially for the lower price a free would entail.

TSP

A much better option than spearing.

Well RedDan, if we were to bring in Diame to offer some genuine defensive cover for Lucas.

Then we could quite easily sell Spearing, who will be surplus to requirements. (Jay and Diame are the same age), but we need genuine defensive cover. Not another central midfielder which is Spearing's position.

Jonjo, Henderson, Adam and Gerrard are ahead in the pecking order. For one reason or another.

'The right tool for the job.'

I think we'll all agree that scoring goals has been our fundamental problem this season just ending. Losing Lucas was a big part of why that was, it changed the whole shape of the attack, it caused huge problems to our defence.

(Check the conceded goal ratio with Lucas and games without Lucas, it's a 27% difference and not in a good way).

So 'lesser teams'' that snatched a goal advantage, would then tactically switch to a more defensive tactical approach, knowing our goal scoring troubles and counter defensive problems without a natural DM.

With Diame backing up Lucas, we'd have squad depth in that position (DM), which is massively important, especially seeing how one injury (Lucas) all but killed our defensive shape. (Which we've had pretty solid since Benitez first signed Momo Sissoko then Mascherano and Lucas himself).

We could get some money for Spearing (not much, but a sum, maybe £3m-£4m). Then sign Diame for free and the money from Spearing could go towards a more attacking player.

We'd have a Prem experienced defensive midfielder for a central midfielder and technically more money than when we started.

Also Diame in my opinion is a better central midfielder than Spearing, even though it's secondary to Diame's game.

I think we'd all be surprised by just how much better Diame would be, playing with the likes of Gerrard and Suarez in front and Agger and Skertl playing behind for example. As compared to Caldwell, Boyce, Moses and Di Santo.

Diame was not be played as much in the last few months, because he isn't signing a new contract, the same goes for Rodallega. Martinez said that he'd be concentrating on the players who will be in his plans next year at Wigan but that he expects professionalism from the whole squad.

16 May 2012 08:28:57
Liverpool to sign Luuk de Jong(£12.5m), Lee Chung-Yong(£6m) and Mohamed Diame(free).

Luuk De Jong is interesting many clubs right now, £12.5 million will soon rise to £16.5 million with many teams waiting for the war to start when the first bid makes it's way to the rolling media football coverage. Joy *sarcasm* Joy.

In my opinion Luuk De Jong is going to be a proper goal scorer and will take to life in the Premiership very very well. Be warned Inter, Arsenal and Tottenham all are ahead in the que, with United thinking of upgrading on Berbatov as well..

It would be a master stroke on LFC's part to sign him without Champions League football.

Is that your own personal list?

Mr. Nokneejerking

16 May 2012 08:18:52
Hi Eds,
What are the chances of Jordan Rhodes coming to Liverpool.
He is on very good form and just cant stop scoring!
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest right now.}

Would love jordan rhodes to come liverpool could perhaps throw a few youngsters there way to gain experience as part of the deal

Mentioned this lad a while ago. Could be a modern day Aldridge. It is about time that the lower leagues were searched properly and a few gambles taken. Remember Keegan, Clemence, Hansen, nicol, etc. I could go on and on .
Robbie

The lad is worth a punt,imo.

Mr. Nokneejerking

Are you all forgetting that he plays in league one

16 May 2012 07:51:14
hi eds what about dortmunds kagawa (spelling) seems like a decent player who could improve the team, young and could get relatively cheap and could also help with breaking into the asian market. any possibility?
{Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this past few months. Kagawa says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down and interest from Manchester United is increasing. I would not be surprised to see him stay at Dortmund if he cannot get the move he wants.}

Shame the bloody mancs r involved

Pretty much signed for United, already had a 2hour one-to-one meeting with Fergie.

The Shadow

16 May 2012 07:48:01
Hey Ed's, I've just read that we've been linked with Andriy Yarmolenko. Is there any truth in this, and what's your opinion of the lad? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Yermolenko has been linked with Napoli but that is all I am aware of.}

16 May 2012 07:25:49
hi eds word around the villa supporters is darren bent could be off with liverpool supposdly showing an interest ant truth in these rumours? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

No no no no no!! Not that plank bent. We better than that I hope.

I heard this from a Villa fan as well but I am sure it is rubbish.
CR

Lets hope not.

Im not happy about it either but admittedly he does score goals which we desperatly need

John Barnes said that Liverpool want Darren Bent on a Talksport show last week. I hope its not true.

Looks as if Aurelio has been released.

Good luck to him, shame the fitness was never quite there but it baffled me why we re-signed him in the first place.

UNiT

I can sort of understand why we resigned him he was better than konchesky i dont know why they gave him 2 year tho great player on his day shame he was always injured
giblet

Because Hodgson/Purslow realised they'd effectively hounded out a promising young left back with no cover in place and Fabio's name was still in the phone book?

TSP

Any idea where Aurelio is going ED?

AG {Ed001's Note - not a clue, probably going to struggle to get a contract to be honest.}

16 May 2012 07:15:09
Eds, Adam Johnson is out of contract this summer and reports have linked us to him in the past, do you think it's realistic we may swoop for him?

Regards

Wigan red {Ed002's Note - You have been misinformed about his contract which runs to 2016.}

Sure I heard he signed an extension last season. Would love him to sign for us...still possible I guess...contracts mean little now! Just a means of severance to stop valuable players leaving for free.

I hope not the last thing we need is a lazy, overpaid premadonna in the squad.
RealisticRed

Stop asking about Adam Johnson to us. I have it from close source to him & he wants to leave city for spurs coz he wants to work with Harry rednapp.

Rumour of interest in Nicolas Lodeiro from LFC and others. El Liverpool, el Udinese, el Gremio de Brasil; entre otros clubes están interesados en el fichaje de Nico !

Any truth in this? Another Uraguayan linked

Neil W

Where has this info come from? Potentially a class signing.

16 May 2012 01:52:20
Any possibility of us going for giovinco, hulk or schurrle??

All class players, i think hulk is out of reach but dont see why we cant go for the other two their brilliant players, just what we need!

My wife's brother is a work collegue of Kelly Dalglish and the word going around his office earlier today is that Kenny will not be sacked and only change will see rodolfo borrell promoted to first team coaching team with a member of pep guardiolas back room team taking the reserve managers position

Our best youth coach promoted to 1st team.........b****cks.

Would love this to be true. I've wanted Rodolfo promoted alongside Kenny for a while. I think it's time for Rodolfo to take the next step. Then maybe next year manager if Kenny goes?

Fingers crossed......

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. And Tixi Bergistain as DOF, would be the icing on the cake imo.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Yes Francesc Cos is the coach in question

"Our best youth coach promoted to 1st team".....maybe to help some of the younger members of the squad make the transition from youth team/reserves to the 1st team? Just a thought. FSG respect the tradition of the club and by promoting from within this would certainly seem to make some sense.....coul;d be rubbish ofcourse but who really knows hey?! :-p

Totally agree forget any other manager i would love to see rodolfo get promoted to team manager with in a season or two.the players react well to him and he is regarded with alot of respect in spain so players would want to play for him.

Not a chance. If Kenny doesn't stay on then the owners will look for an experienced manager with a view to a long term project. I really can't see them taking any more risks. And as much as I rate the guy his only experience as manager is as a caretaker manager for a Greek side. At the end of the day they are businessmen that want to secure their investment.

Macca, ive been told by a friend who looks after a young Spanish kid that players were told Tues morn that Kenny had left Managers position !

What, you got told by a nanny? {Ed016's Note - Must be John Terry)

It was Nacho FWIW, im not spouting rubbish and i believe the person who told me too. Take as you please :)
Pete

Told you he is gone sorry to say...:(

16 May 2012 00:27:39
hi ed have we ever been interested in markus henriksen
jeff:)
{Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

I had to shell out £24M for Henriksen on Fifa. He won't come cheap IRL either methinks.

TSP

Will be available for +/- 2 mill, but is not good enough for PL. Had potetial 2 seasons ago, but have stagnated dramatically. Use the funds elsewhere... {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Markus Henrikson is from PSV, Brugge and Schalke. Interest from Aston Villa and Bayern Munich has waned.}

Heard from a reliable source that Carroll has been included in the England Euro's squad.

Heard anything eds?

Cheers

Hamilton
{Ed001's Note - nothing definite, he certainly hasn't been told he is out as far as I am aware though.}

There's a lot of talk all over twitter and the Internet that he has been included if this is true I wish him luck and hope he does well for the three lions!

Thanks for getting back to me Ed.

I think it would do him a world of good out there and will definitely add another dimension to a rather lacklustre team!

Hamilton

Erm btw if your reliable source ssn because thats were they are saying it lol

BBC website says Carroll is in, with Richards and Crouch out.

Carroll is in, alright. It is now confirmed alongside Downing, Gerrard and G. Johnson

Kenny wont be the manager as of tomorrow, trust me from a very good source and no! Not HP.
Diggz

Clearly wasnt that good a source - seeing as it is now "tomorrow" and theres been no announcements...!!

Unfortunately for you, he is still in charge right now. But as we all know, tomorrow never comes. So let us try and see again tomorrow whether you will be correct.

Mr. Nokneejerking

It amazes me the amount of people that have sources in the club. This is also known as bulls**t!

How wrong could you be

Time to eat some humble pie lads
