Hi Ed002 !

My question is about pjanic . I am not asking about what's the chance of signing him or how much he will cost ect.

I just wanna know do Liverpool has real interest in him & they really negotiating about this ?

Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not negotiating over Pjanic. PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic but both are constrained by UEFA sanctions and will need to sell before buying. Liverpool and Spurs have enquired and are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that would be very high (€50M) and the player has said he has no interest in either club. Manchester United also made an enquiry before appointing a new manager in the summer, but it went nowhere. Dortmund seem to have dropped their interest. The player is looking for €250k per week in wages.}

So who did rodgers go to watch last week?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Roma did not have a game last week. This has been done to death.}

17 Feb 2015 17:21:49
Roma played Parma on Saturday

{Ed002's Note - Rodgers was spotted at the Liverpool game on Saturday.}

If a player is going for €50m and wants 250k a week then liverpool have no chance of signing them, and rightly so, those wage demands are ludicrous.

Has he done anything to warrant €250k p/w? Anything at all? Could anyone let me in on this?

Pjanic is an excellent player and by no means i am going into the wages. But he is world class player.
What's Rooney and Falcao earning at UTD?

He won't fancy a move to us, Roma are challenging Juve for the title. Y would he come to us?

He might end up at city as a replacement of Toure.

Is he world class? What has he done for that easy to come by title?
I've not heard he's dominated a big CL game like other CMs. He has a poor goal/assist record for such a class player, in Serie A. Half that league is at best championship level.
Not saying he's a poor player at all, but £37m & €250k p/w. Eh? No wonder Sterling wants £150k p/w

At least Rooney, Falcao have arm long trophy lists and World Cup & other tournament games, etc they've got to a point to and proven themselves to earn that.

Disagree there.

He has been class apart for Roma who has pushed Juve to the wire.

Falcao hasn't won anything.

Every UTD player has trophy in their list ( Ashley young, Phil jones )

I am not in favor of paying over the odds.

He is a class player and one of the best.

We'll agree to disagree. I don't think Pjanic will lead us to the title and for that money I'd want that.

Think it's all moot anyway cause we can't afford that and if we did have that cash we need a GK and debt reduction more so.

I would want him for the money he wants and no chance.

My point was only his quality. He alone cannot win any side a title, you need 3 players of his quality.

Looks like the Daily Express took the eds response to make some news.

I must agree that Miralem Pjanic is a fine midfielder, but i i'm not sure i would say world class( IMO) . Pjanic is very smart player, very good passing a decent shot, bery good reading of the game but lacks abit in pace, power and work rate, but that's my opinion, i'd love to hear what the eds think of him?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen him play a couple of times, I really don't enjoy watching Italian football so don't see a lot of it. Usually just in between weekend Prem games here I will watch a bit then, as they show it live out here. Certainly not enough to judge him, though he did stand out as being the best player on the pitch each time I saw him. Having said that, the Italian league is woeful at the moment, so being the best on the pitch is not saying a lot!}

I can see Liverpool trying to sign him. let's be realistic though the player is bound to realise if he is going to sign for one of the big English clubs then those wage demands are ridiculous! He will probably sign one of Liverpool, United or Spurs. I wouldn't also be surprised to see interest from Chelsea or City.

Hi Eds,

Do you know of Liverpool interest in Danilo (young brazilian midfielder for Braga) and not the Porto one.

I think this seems more plausible and the Porto Danilo rumours is a case of wires getting crossed.

Thanks,

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - No. The interest in Braga's Danilo is from Italy but his third-party ownership would need resolving. Chances of a work permit in England would be very slim.}

26 Feb 2015 00:11:46
We first gained interest in Danilo at the U17 world cup back when we were scouting his Brazilian teammate & midfield partner Matheus Biteco, however Danilo outshone him apparently. So we do have a long standing interest whether it's current ask Inglethorpe.

Eds,
With us being interested in a striker do you think we might show an interest in Stevan Jovetic?
He seems likely to leave City and if we sold 2 of Balotelli, Lambert and Borini, wouldn't be that expensive in terms of net expenditure, and also has premier league experience.
Who has shown an interest in him already?
Thanks!

Believable1 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - No chance of it happening.}

Hi eds and reds hope all is well ed001 question please, are we going to get a striker in the summer or not? What position are we definitely looking at strengthening in the summer, hope your daughter is well.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - we are looking to sign one yes. Still searching for a keeper as well, plus a central midfielder.}

17 Feb 2015 09:23:35
Hi Ed001.
With BR seemingly being under pressure to recruit more from within, can you see Rossiter being brought into the first team fold more instead of buying another midfielder. Would personally prefer to see the likes of him wisdom, illori and maybe even Wilson and ojo given a chance rather than spend more money, given our ffp stays currently.
Thanks eds, great work as always!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Rossiter is injured or there is a good chance he would have got some chances while Stevie is out injured.}

Any ideas as to the options mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - for what mate?}

17 Feb 2015 10:37:13
Striker goalkeeper and midfielder?
gosh mate you're getting old :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - depends on getting rid of players first, but the names have been posted by either Ed002 or myself as we hear them. Ings, for instance, Trapp now looks to be totally out, midfielder is being searched for.}

17 Feb 2015 11:11:51
Trapp would have been great. Have found ed2s note on goalkeepers
Btw do u know of any interest from us in benzema? Might be a tad bit costly but much better than ings. Don't understand the want fora mmidfielder rather promote Rossiter and try and keep Lucas

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Feb 2015 13:13:52
I know Liverpool are definitely interested in Milner, but I think he will resign for City if they offer him the length of deal he wants.
If we could also get Ings on a free transfer(compo) that would leave the transfer kitty for a goalkeeper and centre midfielder, hopefully a top drawer one.
I know the budget won't be too much with FFP to stick to but if we could sell some fringe players(borini, Lovren, Lambert, Aspas, Illori, Allen)then we could maybe afford a marquee player if we can attract one.

A top class CM ll cost us close to 30 mill. Where is the money coming without CL.

The new TV deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No this season or next.}

18 Feb 2015 02:13:10
Ed's why would a move for Trapp be out? Is it the new contract he has recently signed or is he not looking for a move away from Frankfurt?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is intending to stay, for now at least.}
