Hi there, just been informed Bellamy has signed for cardiff, it will be unveilled after the olympic games. Source- wales online.
Looking forward to BR revolution

Well if this is true, then I for one will really miss him! He was one of if not our best player last season! Pace, guile, determination, that's Bellamy right there!
Hope we replace him with someone who has enough quality to fill the void!

K.Bennett

So he's signed, but they'll wait a MONTH to unveil the bugger? He'll sign and be unveiled either before or after (most likely), though Cardiff still not definite choice if other PL clubs come in for him. V likely though.

I personally will be gutted if Bellamy goes. Always rated Bellamy. Was happy to see him at LFC again. Hope this rumour isn't

Kevin Mirallas having talks with liverpool...........

Dude I wish that was true he is such a skilful player but that is just a twitter rumour that you've twisted, and only like every 1 in 10 rumours have an ounce of truth from twitter :/

I really hope do this guy looks like a young Ronaldo :) finish both feet skill unbeliveable and calm on the ball hope we sign him so bad Suarez borini miralass 4-3-3

LFC-Jordan-LFC

Do you really think Suarez will be staying! I know he got a raw deal with the race thing...but stirring it up again...he's probably caving a way out! I hope not though!

I hope so the kid looks a real handfull.

gee man

Young ronaldo?! he is 24 m8.. he looks pretty good but can we really trust utube vids to judge a player nowadays and he was playing in a very weak greek league past couple of years.. nothing proven in PL yet.... sry but i have my doubts thats just me tho

He wouldnt be judged by his youtube videos as impressive as they are , he would be judged on his statistics elsehwere as he seems to score alot of goals for being a winger

17 Jul 2012 22:20:45
liverpool expected to bid 9.5m for joe allen from swansea..

CP

Highly doubtful as they are bidding 7.5 for dempsey and i dont think allen is even abit like dempsey.Dempsey is alot better than allen

17 Jul 2012 22:17:10
theo walcott is going to be signing tomorrow and with dempsey.. not sure about fees 100% certain that they will be signed by tomorrow noon.. I will post updates tomorrow..

CP

Hope for your sake you are right CP otherwise prepare for the barrage of usual sh*t to come your way
Rik int Wirral

If this does happen, I will beg the eds to give you your own page

{Ed016's Note - Got his I.P, if he lied. he doesn't post anymore}

I don't think they will but you will lose your sign off name if they don't let's hope your right

17 Jul 2012 22:02:07
Straight from inside the club..... Nobody is gonna sign in the next 12hrs.... take the day off!

Gary - NYC

17 Jul 2012 21:55:55
Joe allen talks imminent contwct between liverpool and swansea to sort out details off taking away transfer ruling...

17 Jul 2012 20:50:23
Who do you think our next signing will be and when do you expect our next deal will be? {Ed022's Note - I believe it will be Allen or Dempsey. It changes from day to day on who will sign first, but at the moment it looks to be Allen. I have no idea on times, although I'd expect before the end of the week for one of them at least.}

Dempsey looks very close too though. I expect them both to be signed before the end of the tour and to link up with the squad once they return rather than jetting out. Once they've signed there will be another forward signed and maybe a LB. No rumours on anything beyond (the possibly rubbish stories about) Walcott and Sturridge at the mo though so i reckon BR et al are just holding fire til the Carroll and Bellamy deals are sorted, likely in 2 weeks from now.

balaji raman

Lots of speculation around emirates that theo may be sold,liverpool being the front runners expecting to pay around 9 million bazglo red

Please tell me that first 'F' was deliberate and stands for what I think it does!

1 of about 2000+ in our scouting files. Nothing more than that. Yet.

Ed002, world class, why can't we sign Ed002!?

ChrisMiz

Great reply, Ed22 - had me in stitches. I should become the standard reply to repetitive questions.
Digger {Ed022's Note - I will be using that from now on.}

Please tell me that's "use the f'ing search function" ha {Ed022's Note - It is yes.}

Please tell me that stands for "use the f*cking search function" lol

Hearing alot about Kevin Mirallas of Olympiakos, linked with Liverpool FC.

This kid would be an great singing if you have seen him play you would be watering at the mouth at the prospect of him coming to Liverpool.

Hi, just want to calm everyone down about the situation with Reina. BR stated yesterday in his press conference that Borini had returned early because he wasnt expected back until the 1st August but instead will fly out with the England Players on the 23rd. He said Borini has been given extra time off because he had got to the final, so same thing applies to Reina, he has been given extra time of, and wont be back until the 1st August. No inside info or anything, just putting 2 & 2 together, thanks

So maybe by the 23rd we will find out weather or not Mandy Carrol will be with us or not!

He also said he would give everyone a fresh start to but that does not seem to be the case with AC.

Coley

I already stated this earlier, search conspiracy theorists

Yup, this is correct. But it is silly season, hence the bloody 'unbelievables' as per. Pepe here for at least another season. He'll have to have a good one though.

Why oh why do people try and think on here!! Borini didn't want the extra time off maybe excited at linking up with Rodgers I don't know. Where as Reina has thought CBA will take extra time off with fambo as going to be a hard season ahead!! What's wrong in that? Why do we have to assume it means something sinister. why can't you take it as it is why does there have to be something behind why he isn't in the squad. Seriously does irrate the sh1t out of me.

Rodgers wouldnt sign cavani.
Having too many major players in the squad that are from africa or south america is a disadvantage as the african nations cup and copa america would cause us to lose the players for quite a few games every alternate year as well as risking injury or fitness on their return.
Secondly Adam johnson won't be sold by man city as he's one of the few british players keeping that club within their quota.
YNWA Yas

Utter tosh, coppa america is not mid season, its at the end, suarez coates won it remember

I think if he could have Cavani in his squad he'd get over his aversion to too many South Americans and Africans.

1st bit i agree if only on Cavani's wages.2nd nope disagree

With a likely purchasing price of £35 million and asking an alleged £150K per week Rodgers couldn't afford Cavani! So why even post what you posted?

If thats the case what about City, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea?

Phew - no Adam Johnson then - best rumour I've read in weeks.

John B

Copa America is at the end of every alternate season.

PD6

The main reasons he wouldn't buy Cavani is that he would cost over £35 million, would want £150k and the fact that he isn't that good.

Utter tosh! Adam Johnson would not be kept purely because of his nationality! Also.....Hart, Milner, Richards, Barry......they have more than most! Think before posting rubbish!! Also, in other news.....Rodgers passes up free transfer of messi due to his copa America commitments!!
Andy

The Copa America's held during our summer so they wouldn't miss any games (Luis and Lucas were back first game last year)

Copa America is held in the summer, but your point is taken about ACN and Man City British quota

City couldnt possibly buy another player to replace him could they? that would be crazy!
red sheep.

The Copa America is every 4 years, unlike the ACoN.

TSP

The Copa America is in the summer, same as the Euros... Suarez & Lucas participated in it last summer... try again...

Rodgers is not a big enough name to sign the likes of Cavani

Wont happen anyway, i herd falco was rogers first choice striker if carrol goes anyway

FSG would not spend 30 mil + on any player again (whilst not in the champions league) and I suspect the fee would be close to that mark. Once burned !

Look, AC played by far his best football at Newcastle. They played to his strengths and still his best stats were 1 goal in 3. BRs style and tactics are a county mile from Andys. It is best for both parties for AC to move, even if he develops well elsewhere. Good look to the man.

Utter rubbuish. so you wouldnt be interested in messi in case of the copa america?

Cavani is the most coveted (available) forward on the planet at the moment, including Neymar. Will only join a a big club playing in the CL. With a £40m transfer and £150k-£200k p/week wages, only Real, Barca, City, Chelsea and PSG would have a realistic chance of persuading him to join. Real most likely.

This site could be very good if some of the really stupid threads like this one were filtered out. Do your research Copa America is at the end of the season not mid season.

Jesus what's wrong with you all so bloody aggressive. It's just someone's opinion. Yes he may have got his facts wrong but no need to pull him to pieces.

Rodgers wouldnt sign cavani because BR knows that if he tried to get cavani he would be laughed away.why would one of the top strikers in the world join liverpool?cant really see him turning down the likes of city,madrid,chelsea for your poor poor team

Hi Ed002, Can you confirm if Andy Carroll has been told he is surplus to requirements by Brendan Rodgers as reported by sly news. And could you confirm team showing real interest in him, seems a shame he isn't getting a chance to prove himself under BR. Cheers... {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what he has been told but I still think he will be on his way.}

It's just a rumour Rodgers wouldn't have told him that. Carroll will be in per season in a weeks time. I believe that Rodgers will see how things go until January

At long last someone else waiting for confirmation within the club, not media or twitter, that BR doesn't want Carroll. Until then I can only assume BR is playing games with the trolls.

John B

Rodgers said: "Andy's always going to be linked with clubs, whether he was here or not. I have spoken to him on his holidays and he knows exactly where he stands.

"Andy's a player I want to assess and speak with. We've already had a good chat on where we're at."

ItsNotRocketScience

'It's not what SSN or Carrol's agent are saying. He is surplus to requirements and will be sold.

Get rid of the donkey whilst he still has some value, until the last weeks of the season he did nothing, cheering each time he directed a header towards one of our players, doesn't constitute his worth as a £35m buy......get rid!

I will be f****** disgusted if this turns out to be another aquilani situation, keep him or sell him..NO MORE RIP OFF LOAN DEALS!

I'd be sad to see Carroll leave. Fair enough he struggled for most of the season but he came good at the end. Just look at the lack of service he got and he was also bought for the future. I could see him being an asset coming off the bench, even though he'll be a £35 mill sub.

Carroll should stay and prove himself, give him till January and see what happens, BR needs the board to give him some money to get Walcott in !

With no wingers to cross to him, and no defenders instructed to hoof it upfield, players in the Carroll mould will not make BR's squad. He would only warm the bench as a last-ditch option if we were trailing near the end of a match and wanted to try route 1 football for 5 minutes, though even resorting to that is not BR's style. Same reason you will see Downing leave as he isn't suited to the wide-forward role and is best way out on the wing. Sterling will be fine though and will have no probs adapting to the wide forward roles BR employs. Basically, Downing and Carroll could be fantastic in a regular 442, but BR won't play that way. Cos he's not a boring fecker. Roll on ticky tacky too!

I hope br dont get rid of andy because he is a player we need. Good with his feet and head and getting better every day and played well at the euros please br dont get rid of andy
Lee T

Give the lad a decent chance this season. With more decent asists he may just sparkle. Another player who should be given a run of games is Aquilani. He may be just the answer for Carroll. Gerrard has shaken off his injuries and should provide the passes to Carroll and Suarez or even Borini. Perhaps we should invest in a winger. If we are going to depend on Downing or Cole, our strikers are going to shoot blanks again

ed you know if rumour about kevin mirallas is any true? he's an alright player but im sure we can do better than that and i read an interview saying he wasnt willing to leave osfp

PP {Ed002's Note - Lille, Toulouse and, in particular, Werder Bremen have been showing an interest in Mirallas after a move to Bayern Munich failed to materialise. Unconfirmed reports identify interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Would be a decent addition to the squad.}

Hi ed

I was just wondering can we still sign players just now even though Brendan is in America or would we need to wait until he comes back before any more signings are made.

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

There was another winger /forward at Panathinaikos having a much better season untill injury ended his season. 15 goals in 17... Sebastion Leto

I think there is interest in this player as the dempsey interest has cooled because fulham want around the 9-10 million mark,liverpool wont pay that so they may as well buy a just as good player for that same money fulham want for dempsey

Kevin Mirallas is one hell of a player especially at the quoted release clause of about 8.25. Carrol can leave for 18-20 in my opinion, and then buy Mirallas would be very good business.
Si

We used to have leto hes useless in the premier league

Sebastian Leto couldn't gat a work permit though.

How is leto better ? this guy is fantastic. other than the youtube highlights, i have seen play for Belgium a couple of times. he looked a better player for the country than hazard. and he scored 0 goals in 25 matches last season. and he won Greek's super league player of the season

Hello Eds, I was just wondering what midfielders from Madrid are available? {Ed002's Note - Diarra, Sahin and Kaka, Granero may stay, Altintop has gone, Khedira may leave if Modric arrives.}

Not sure if any would happen but would taken any of them at liverpool

Khedira will probably not leave. One of Mou's favorite players!

SLURed

Would't mind that midfild.. Khedira, Sahin and Kaka.............

Lets get khedira, jus thn we get to see his girlfriend in the stands!

Khedira so underrated if Modric takes his spot he should move to bayern and help them challenge Dortmund

Etphonehome

I would love Sahin. Kaka would be good if we could get him for under 100k a week.
Andrew

The only players i'd take from Real Madrid would be Alonso and maybe Sahin. Don't rate any of the others apart from Ronaldo and no one will buy him.

I just realised I put Alonso and Sahin. I meant Alonso and Ozil. Sorry.

Why would they replace Khedira with Modric, Khediras younger and better.

17 Jul 2012 15:59:56
Any news on mirallas as he seems like a decent player and a player we need as we are short on wingers and pace.

I hope brendan does give Andy a chance as he has great ability and is starting to show some form but if we sell him for 20mil then I would like a decent replacement and not a couple 7/8 mil players

What are you thoughts eds
Kennofc03 {Ed002's Note - Lille, Toulouse and, in particular, Werder Bremen have been showing an interest in Mirallas after a move to Bayern Munich failed to materialise. Unconfirmed reports identify interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Would be a decent addition to the squad.}

Nobody is coming to Liverpool. Andy Caroll will leave. The owners have identified a way to keep fans happy by playing pretty football without spending money.

They will sell at the first possible opportunity.

Gazman

I don't understand why people associate how good a player is by how much is spent on him? Even after spending £35m on Carroll and £20m on Downing is it still not obvious that the fee is not a reflection of how good the player is. Kompany £6m, Ozil £10m, Evra, Vidic, VDV all cheaper than the outlandish prices Liverpool have paid for average players... say no more.

I think Andy Carroll is maybe worth keeping he has a lot to play for a place in the world cup qualies ect.
he started to get some form the end of last season ready for the euro's .

agree with your post thank you mal.

Come on all theses signing are a joke people forget that we are liverpool not fulham so we should be getting cream of best players in the world wake up and smell the coffee real talk ye.

Could everyone that isn't managing a premier league team, temper their views? BR has stated that ability and personality are key, and players with both will succeed, and take Liverpool forward. I'm sure there are visitors to this site that would like us to pay £20m+ for players others have ability and reputation, but lack the ability to play for a TEAM. We may find that the players we have (wasted money to some of you) actually suit BR's style. Time to stand together as one TEAM; players, management, the staff at Anfield/Melwood and the fans.

Good clarity last poster. Spot on and shows why the likes of Allen and Dempsey are being targeted initially. If you saw either of them playing last year you would know the obvious quality they will bring and how quickly they will adapt to BR's system. Joe Allen in particular is a massive talent.

If we sell Carroll for 20million and fail to bring in anybody past the highly speculated Dempsey and Allen transfers then it will equate, roughly, to a net spend of around 10 million, maybe a little more. That is not enough for a top club. The point about those players mentioned who were cheap (Ozil, VDV, Kompany, etc etc) is that Liverpool didn't sign them. In fact who was the last cheapish player Liverpool signed who turned out to be world class? Alonso for 11 million about 6years ago? Spending loads doesn't guarante success or quality but it certainly helps - If we don't add anybody else to the squad after those speculated then what right do we have to harbour any ambitions for Champions League places? If we don't show the financial ambition required off the pitch then don't expect miracles on the pitch, money isn't everything but our squad is not strong, we need more investment if we want champions league, if not we should brace oursevles for a good few seasons in the Europa League.

SMc

P.s. why do people say spending doesn't matter? Look at the winners of the league in recent history; Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal - all these teams have spent a lot of money when required. Arsenal are a slight exception due to there manager but, as you all know, they haven't been close to challenging and have failed to secure any silverware for 6 years+.... people who say spending doesn't matter are living in a fantasy world - the clubs who spend the most seem, at least to me, to be the most successful. If anyone can't think of any examples to the contrary (and please try to avoid reeling off names from the 80's when prices were dirt cheap, the prices were high for the time, football has changed, please keep your argument in the present).

Hi eds,
Can you give me as far as your opinion the likliest signings for us this summer? i no you usuaslly say look through the history but all i can see is walcott and allen? from a very eager fan

{Ed002's Note - Allen and Dempsey.}

Ed0002, can you please clarify? At 14:40 you said that you expected the Allen move to go ahead and that the Michu deal was nearing completion, but now you are saying that the two likliest signings are Allen and Dempsey. {Ed002's Note - Michu is a being looked at by Swansea.}

As a suggestion Ed002, which I've been thinking for a while; wouldn't it be quite handy to create some kind of notice area towards the top of the page, with very brief descriptions of the players LFC are highly linked with (e.g, Dempsey and Allen atm)? So when people come onto the page, they can look to the top and see the 'most likely' to be...
Just a suggestion as I see you answering many questions that're very similar!

Hope your day is going well.
Thanks, Ell. {Ed002's Note - We tried that last year Ell but folks still skip by. Thanks for teh thoughts.}

Hi eds, great site mate, your the only one that actaully know whats going on right now. What is the situatuon with walcott and allen. {Ed002's Note - They sound like a comedy team. I don't know of anything related to Walcott moving to Liverpool but I susppose it could happen. I expect teh Allen move will go ahead with the Michu deal now nearing completion.}

Thanks mate, roughly when do you think big joe will sign {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Haha....or a bearded folk music combo with a penchant for fireside mellancolly!

Red G

Haha ed002 I love your answers, your a legend!

Musty from Birmingham

Any chance michu could only be replacing Sigurdsson...attacking midfielder n all that. I still dont see swansea letting Allen go all that easily

Don't know about Walcott and Allen, but apparently Mulligan and O'Hare are close to joining....

Flanagan and Allen! Gotta sign the bugger now!

I figured there replacement for sigurdsson was michu, I hope i'm wrong because i think allen is a class act..YagEraDetinu

Ed what happend to the agreement br wouldnt sign a swansea player for atleast 12 months ? {Ed022's Note - It becomes void with a transfer request.}

17 Jul 2012 14:39:34
i ask loads and never gets posted but anything on Joveic,sturridge or ramierez come on eds {Ed002's Note - Well I would recommend the answers that can be found by reading the other posts or using the search function. All of these are dealt with on a regular basis.}

Well its pretty obvious we aren't in for these players thats probably why they don't get posted

Big Dan

No-name poster - do NOT ever say 'I never get any posts shown' (especially to ED002) or you will be red carded

Puzzled

Becos your too lazy to scroll or search. jovetic is highly unlikely which has been repeated a million times.....

JON THE RED

This is a site for posting rumours, it was not set up to be a site to pester the editors into answering the same old questions over and over again. You should be thankful that the answer those sorts of questions at all. Most of us on this site don't have great sources at the club so rarely get the chance to post rumours. If you haven't got anything interesting or informative to tell the readers you would be better off just lurking and seeing what others have to say. You'll soon realise that posts like yours are mildly irritating as they dilute the good stuff.

Bob

If i were the ed i'd answer posts like that with the middle finger.

Hey Ed's I was just wondering if any of you could give an insight into any possibility in Liverpool going for Marek Hamsik? I am not one of those supporters who lives on cloud 9 but I was just wondering if it is at all any kind of chance? Would luv a reply if you could thanx {Ed002's Note - Sounds like a Twitter thing but I would say there is little or no chance. I know nothing of it and certainly Hamsik has signed a new long term deal.}

I wouldn't want him. Badly overrated. He's decent on Football Manager and that's about it.

hi guys before I start just like to say great site spent many of lunchtimes getting the lowdown and laughing at some of the crazy comments on here.

anyway I have this friend (don't want to name drop) who works at radio city who is friends with a old Liverpool legend that commentates some of the games and he told my friend that we are in talks with Alonso we are just waiting for real madrid to sign modric and we are free to move in on Alonso. any truth in this edds?

Here we go again with this MITCH GEEZER. one minute he knows aldo, the next minute he knows one of the beejees.

I'm just laughing at your crazy comment

Kerryred

If you know such a fact, then why the hell are you asking for confirmation?

So, you laugh at the crazy comments posted here & then post an incredibly crazy comment yourself? I don't think I understand you, my friend.

SUMON VAI

And if sumon vai considers you crazy then you've got no hope pal!

So far in July you have claimed Raimerez, (apparently your Grandad knows someone) Zamora, Affellay, Torres to return(your paperboy apparently saw him) and gone out of your way to praise ManU.
Obviously security is getting slack at the asylum.

Love it to happen but cant see Madrid lettin him go. how longs he got left on his contract?

Alonso has 12 months left on his contract. He has been told already by Madrid that they will not be renewing his contract and can speak to clubs in January.

I would not expect us to sign him this summer but if he only has 12 months left I cannot see Madrid letting him leave for free come the end of next season so a move may be in the interest of both clubs as long as a reasonable amount can be agreed.

Jon LFC

Would love to see him back,if they get modric the most probably person to suffer is going to be alonso as hes the oldest,his contract runs out on 30.06.2014 so real madrid dont need to hurry to sell him!

Eds is there any intrest from us in gerard deulofeu he plays for barcelona and if so how much would he cost cause this guy has the potential to be as good as xavi or inestia a real talent this kid is at 18 aswell and he fits fsg bill please please get back thanks {Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of.}

If he has the potential to be as good as xavi or iniesta then would barca not look to keep him ?
derryred

I dont think he has the right mentality. He always tries to do it himself amd hss no end product. reminds meof sturridge

Based on the u19 championships, hope we don't want him, he was crap, get that Alenjandro Grimaldo in though, looks quality, think Barca would of realised that by now so no chance really

Deulofeu is very highly regarded by Barca, he is compared to Messi. We have no chance of buying him. One player we do have is Suso who was outstanding throughout the tournament and in the final too. Reality Red

Someones been playing FM 2012, potential to be a key player!

I watched him in the U19s tournament. Headless chicken springs to mind.

I would like to know about the Villa bid , south americans and the Borini fee, the last one in particular , there are many values and conditions floating around , not sure where/what the truth?

Roy {Ed002's Note - It ws 13.3M euros plus 1M euros in performance related bonuses plus VAT plus agent fees plus VAT on agent fees. On top of that there is a signing on fee - I don't know the amount.}

Well Ed, you have got the important stuff correct so far and they still question you. You said Kenny will go and he did, you said Carroll will go and he will. You said the Ramires rumours were nonsense and they were. The other one that Liverpool fans are dreading you getting right is the Suarez leaving prediction. I think FSG may do a Meireles on that one and flog him on deadline day.

FFS guys get a grip. The Ed's are trying to help run this site. Just because they give an answer YOU don't like, grow up and deal with it.

Dear Ed 002, it sounds like the b*ggers are getting you down, but please remember that there are lots of us who appreciate your hard work, thoughtful replies to questions, brilliant wit--gag writing should be your day job--and totally unselfish willingness to share your knowledge and opinions with others, and all for nothing. So s*d 'em. Keep going mate. Steve {Ed002's Note - They are getting us all down. Ed001 was driven away and only dips his toe in occasionally.}

It's just become far too easy for anonymous huttwines to abuse the people who keep this site running. Sadly, it will never occur to these people that without the Eds, there would be no rumours pages. I can only imagine how difficult it is for you eds, and how easy it is for us to say "just ignore it" when we only see a small fraction of the abuse that comes in, but at least you can be safe in the knowledge that the non-jellybrains who visit this site appreciate all the work you do and any information you have to share with us. 'Mon the Eds!

Rugby Parker {Ed002's Note -

Could there not be a signing into the site in order to post, but free to read for those that don't want to comment. Could that not control things a little better and make it easier to ban people, (username, email and IP Ban) ?

Hi Eds,Sorry about the abuse you get off some moronic persons who if they dont hear what they want to hear spew all sorts of s***e at yee,please keep up the brilliant work it is really appreciated by other reds fans and myself.
Take care all.

Eric The Real Red

Why would he go to villa. The only way Carroll will leave is back to Newcastle.

Hi eds,
Agger eyed by barca? Whats your stand in this? {Ed002's Note - Sounds like an old story being recycled. There is no denying they are looking for a centre back though.}

They want Martinez and if not then Vermaelen.

Martinez is their choice but if the price is too high they are going for vermaelen

17 Jul 2012 13:19:29
Eds, any chance of us getting Jordan Rhodes? Have we or any other prem clubs looked at him?

Young, scores goals, may be one for the future? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool - Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham are certainly chasing Rhodes.}

I'm from Brighton and rumour has it he is signing for the seaguls, not sure if I believe it myself but was told that last week

Would prefer Gary Rhodes. At least there'd be decent food at Anfield

17 Jul 2012 13:11:51
Ed's, i was just wondering if any club has shown any interest in Balzaretti from Palermo? I know they will be reluctant to sell their best players but i was keen to know if any club has courted him recently?

Sam Adzii JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Lazio, Juventus, Southampton, Napoli, Fiorentina have been linked with Balzaretti , his agent has been trying to get PSG interested as the player is likely to be sacrificed as PAlermo rebuild.}

17 Jul 2012 12:35:12
Just thought he let you all know krasic and hamsik are the players that we will be linked with in the coming days. Just more rumours that I doubt we will actually be looking at.

Mike b

17 Jul 2012 12:32:30
Gokhan Tore worth a shot what do you guys think {Ed002's Note - Again much was expected of him at Chelsea but when the opportunity of first team fotball came at Hamburg he went with Arnesen.}

17 Jul 2012 12:26:03
Ramirez agrees terms with juve. Another one missed better then any player we have signed for a few years.

He looks very average from what I've seen of him. Youtube clips, admittedly, but I doubt all those raving about his supposed quality and how we've missed a star one-for-the-future buy, have seen much more.

In that case I take it you will be a Juve supporter from now on

I personally hope Ramirez goes to Juve as hopefully this will end their interest in Suarez. Perhaps this is just wishful thinking and Juve will have both there next season. Doh!

KingHeskey

Missed - does that indicate we were interested in him?

John B

What was the transfer fee ? 20 mil .

Jesusly

Where did u get that from. source?
coz the only thing it says anywhere regarding ramirez and juventus is that they are lookin to sign him.

Juventus always get their players dirt cheap, I wouldn't be surprised if they got him for under £10m. They got Isla and Asamoah for something like £12m and Vidal for £8m. Pogba for £800k. They are very good at getting their targets for cheaper than a club wants to sell them for.

Sydney!

Like Mata last season, I think that the sheer number of rumours on this site posted by people who want to believe that they are "in the know" created a snowball effect.

He looks average? I gotta say mate, dont make an opinion aftr watching 5min on youtube.... Gaston ramirez is an absolute beast, exellent passing good pace nice technique good shooter, he was my dreamtarget this season but looks like interrest wasnt there... And to say he dosnt gonna be any good in premier league is just rubbish... Ramirez gonna be a world star... Just my opinion
Norwegian red

Unproven talent happily settle for joe Allen we were never interested in him any how

Were we ever in for Ramirez? You can't miss out on a player that you don't actually bid for! Have some faith!

Even if he doesn't join juventus people must realise Liverpool aren't the pull they usEd to be. Especially Without champions league football. Until that changes expect most big signings to go else where.

Fingers crossed we can get back with the elite soon!

If this is true,This would mean that they wouldnt need to sign suarez so the question is would you rather a suarez or a ramirez?

Jordan {Ed002's Note - So Liverpool could have both but Juventus can't?}

Personally I only want players who want to sign because they want to play for Liverpool. If they are only interested in the money - they can jog on

Just because you were intrested in him does'nt mean the club are pal! BARRABAS

Gaston Ramirez has not signed for juve he wants to sign for a proper club

We were never really looking at him and its not another one missed u unhopeful r***** weve made one signing and on the brink of dempsey and we dont need ramirez when weve got gerrard suarez and possibly allen and maybe alonso back so before u go on a suicide hunt and search for every iffy rumor that we then hevent got go ahead because if uve not heard david villa isnt coming either are u gonna spit ur dummy out over that on that we 'missed' aswel

Im sorry to say but eds may confirm this.we were never "IN" for ramirez he was scouted and it was mainly agent talk {Ed002's Note - You kidding? When did this revelation strike you?}

Wow great,we may sign Allen.Come on guys this Ramirez fella is a damn sight better than a Swansea player we MITE get for £10M.
If Buck Rodergers thinks selling big Andy to bring in Dempsey is the right thing to do.He may be on a hidding to nothing.
I personaly think we may live to regret it,IF it happens.Andy won the most aerial duels in the prem,had more headers on/off target from sraps I mite add.We won 45% of games he started.He scares the life out of defenders.Why get rid of him?If plan A fails he aint a bad option B & C to have around.

I know ED002 but ppl still talking like we gonna miss out when obviously we aint lol keep up the good work m8.great site and epic reading.

Suarez is ten times the player so stop your pointless waffle

17 Jul 2012 12:04:51
Hi guys just to bring you some update on transfers adam johnson should sign very soon just transfer fee a stumbling block.finally lfc have just had a bid for allen rebuffed of 9million we will bid again later tonight or tomorrow for around 12 million plus bonuses etc. This should meet swanseas asking price!

£12M for Allen!! I think not my friend! If thats what they are demanding, they need to be told to jog on! Hes an "alright Swansea player"! certainly not a £12M player!

If that happens i have to say owners have not learnt any lessons from the last summer.

£12mills not that bad, youv'e got to think of the sell on value and it could be a lot more than that.

12M for allen would be a bargain, he is a top class player, people that say he isnt obviously havnt seen him play much! he out thought and out played gearard when they beat us, a midfield of him gerard and lucas would be quality!

Liverpool can't approach Swansea players for a year.

Who ever thinks 12 mil for Allen is steep you need to get your brain examined! We paid 16 mil for Henderson for gods sake!!!!

12mil great price henderson should be part of the deal he wont like we just need more players to sign

Sooo hope we get johnson . . . quality!

allen would be good signing though we already got alot of centre mids!

Few years? I bet he would like to be half the player his mate Suarez is!

Alright Eds, great site. Bumped into my source by the Tate gallery in the Albert Dock this morning. This is just what he said, he is very reliable and I would believe what he says.

He says that we are interested in signing Zavon Hines on a free as back up for When Carroll leaves. He is actually an alright player, not great but he wouldnt be bad for a free. This is what Ive been told.

Hazza 2

He cant cut it in the championship never mind the prem at a club like Liverpool absolute rubbish why even write that?

Get back on the bitters rumour site. Why did the eds even bother with this ?

Drivel. You just wanted to tell people you go to art galleries.

Released on a free by Burnley and he'll replace Carroll? Tripe like this is just as bad as rumours that we'll sign a player for £40 million.The 2 extremes are equally annoying.

To be fair lads, Hines isnt that bad. He does know where the net is which is the main thing with a striker. As a super sub he wouldnt be bad.

Niel.

No way! Saw him on loan at bournemouth last season and he is truely shocking. L2 at best

Shame Southampton snapped him up.another player missed out on ay doommongers lol

17 Jul 2012 11:57:06
We are currently in negotiations with Fulham for Dempsey, who has made it clear he wants to move here. Allen is another who is very close, again, he is interested in moving to Liverpool, and has stated he's willing to hand in a transfer request to push the deal through.

Carroll has agreed terms with Newcastle, Mike Ashley and the Liverpool board are discussing a potential deal because Rodgers does not want him here. Newcastle are not looking to go higher than 15m, we want 20m. I imagine we will meet somewhere halfway.

We are in talks with Madrid too, over a possible loan for Sahin. This deal would include the option to buy the next year. Rodgers rates the guy highly however this will not happen unless Carroll goes. Carroll leaving will pave the way for Allen and Sahin to join. Dempsey will join if Carroll stays to replace Maxi.

Luis

Andy is still away on holiday! did well to agree terms there! He will arrive in the USA next week with the rest of the England lads and Fabio Borini! NOTHING agreed with the skunks!

I can't see us moving for both Sahin and Allen I'm afraid, unless ofcourse Adam and Spearing both go and Jonjo Shelvey leaves on loan, I dont see the logic in bringing Sahin here.

Dempsey this week, Allen may be dragged out and we could be priced out of a deal for him.

Carroll hasn't agreed terms with Newcastle at all, Liverpool rejected their season long loan enquiry and thats where it stands now, stop talking out your hoop.

LFC1802

If you are right, and tbf, that's a big 'IF', I would hope this means we are not really interested in the appalling Walcott.

How can Carroll agree personal terms before LFC sanction a deal.

Do you honestly believe his agents arn't talking to newcastle about possible terms should he join? O.k lads ,back in the real world.

Why would we go for sahin when we already interested in allen and already have: gerrard, lucas, hendo, shelvey, adam and spearing? (i'm assuming aquilani goes)
we will also need another striker when we have; suarez, carroll, borini, downing, sterling and bellers(although he is close to leaving)
derryred

If allen is too expensive, we should move interest toward nuri sahin.. he is highly rated midfielder and just having a bad luck 1st season in real madrid.. injury after injury.. im sure after this he be ok, he really commanding in midfield while play for dortmund

17 Jul 2012 11:52:54
FSG want Edinson Cavani to replace Andy Carroll.. Just heard strong rumers from inside club.... It's all under the radar stuff at the moment but 100% shure this is legit!

Brian Fox

"inside the club" so that means you made it up?

Completely ridiculous. At least put some effort into it!

Cavani wants 150k per week....... not gonna happen Grazer1975

And why would cavani want to come to Liverpool where he won't get champions league football when he could go to a club like Chelsea and play in the champions league? I hate to say it but at the moment we don't have the pulling power of teams that are in the top four or are in the champions league for at least another year

Since when do FSG identify targets?
Thought it was BR and LFC?

Cheers for the info Brian Fox, can you post your address because I am just off to the bookies to put a bet on your 100% in the know? Obviously I'd like you to give me my money back if it does not happen?

Brian how did you manage to fly so low...and who's your inside man below the radar...I want a piece of that action...must be potent stuff you're smoking!

Brian. Not again pls. Please stop dreaming. And yeah. Get lostttt

Chesea have already bid £35m and he wants £150k a week so i don't think we got a chance their mate

Under the radar? It must be in a submarine.....

blah blah blah

SHURE it isn't legit mate! you're in dreamland.

Wow - silk purse to sows ear if this is true

Puzzled

Read my boy a fairy story last nite,more truth in that!!

17 Jul 2012 10:40:20
It looks as though Michu could be on the way to Swansea as sly sports have reported that a bids been accepted. Ed, do you think this could pave the way for Allen to come the Liverpool? Thanks! {Ed002's Note - Yes, it could.}

Edd didnt u say he wouldnt move earlyer today got this one wrong {Ed022's Note - Are you an idiot?}

17 Jul 2012 10:36:35
Swansea bid for Michu accepted. Allen now free to move?

-Shane.

More replacement for Sigurdsson from last season's squad I would think

Is michu a defensive midfielder?
Or is Allen a striker?

The signing of Michu is omly to replace Sigurdsson so don't be getting your hopes up fpr Joe Allen.

Med Red

Hope not do not rate little nimble Allen at all.

17 Jul 2012 10:16:40
TalkShe*p reporting Spuds are in for Ramirez now. Very disappointed we haven't followed up from our interest

We wana spend 11 mil on joe allen but cant buy this guy who is quality. RedTurk

Isvhe any good though? None of the top clubs seem interested? Unfortunately wecas lpool fans do like build players up to the next pele ...pacheo, and now it's happening with suso and not even made a single pass yet!........

Ramirez is a decent player, but he's not a player who would do well in the premier league from what i've seen of him. Certainly not what we need right now

How do we know that we were in for Ramirez? Maybe only a rumour?

He is great and i didn't mean to sound pessimistic but i am genuinely disappointed that as of now we haven't bid for him would be a better buy than Clint Dempsey.

I am not a pessimist but a realist. The owners do not want to spend a lot of money and definitely they will not go into bidding war. so ramirez et al are out of the equation. we can only hope suso and sterling grow fast and become our own ramirez/muniain.

Why does everyone across these boards say, 'Ramirez is he even any good?' Yes he is excellent. But no Allen is apparently a world beater now.

How many times we were never really intrested in the first place,why would he come to liverpool when hes gettin offers from teams in the champions league!

17 Jul 2012 09:01:58
Hi Ed's, love the sight and loving you ya cool cat !

I know the players from the Euro's have not started the tour but they are all named on it, presumably to join up. All that is except Reina. Anything to read in to that and if he goes do we have another keeper lined up ? {Ed002's Note - I don't know if there is or not. He has on several occasions expressed his frustration with things at Anfield but I really don't know if he would force a move because of that.}

Because Reina was with Spain until the final, his holiday leave finishes after we return. Borini was in the same boat but has decided to cut his holiday short.

Borini was going to be given until 1st August because Italy made the final so I suspect Reina has until 1st August too.

Reina will return later than the English players as Spain reached the final. All players get four weeks off. In the case of Borini he two would not have been in the squad only that he has decided to join the squad early.

17 Jul 2012 08:41:46
couple of quick questions ed's please, do you know how much we actually paid for borini? And as there are a lot of rumours about us signing allen does that mean he has given some kind of indication that he is about to hand in a transfer request?

Thanks
john {Ed002's Note - It ws 13.3M euros plus 1M euros in performance related bonuses plus VAT plus agent fees plus VAT on agent fees. On top of that there is a signing on fee - I don't know the amount.}

There's no VAT on agent's fees as the agent is not UK based, but yes the add ons do push the price up. Will probably touch £11M in the end. {Ed002's Note - VAT is not an English only tax. There is VAT on agent fees and it is not reclaimable.}

Cheers ed02, seems like quite a lot of money to me, is it money well spent in your eyes?
john {Ed002's Note - It is hard to tell with the amounts being paid today. I would say there is no question that Liverpool have overpaid for Borini and given much was expected of him by Chelsea and Rodgers sees something there, then he will be a good by.}

Hmm let me clear this up, the fee was around £8 mil plus add ons etc, it is not £11 mil as of yet. RedTurk {Ed002's Note - I explained what the fee is if you look at the post. Please don't keep misleading people with made up numbers.}

Ed002: "It ws 13.3M euros plus 1M euros in performance related bonuses plus VAT plus agent fees plus VAT on agent fees. On top of that there is a signing on fee - I DON'T KNOW THE AMOUNT"

Reply - Hmm let me clear this up, the fee was around £8 mil plus add ons etc, it is not £11 mil as of yet.

ED002: "I explained what the fee is if you look at the post. PLEASE DON'T KEEP MISLEADING PEOPLE WITH MADE UP NUMBERS."

Really Ed002? How is he doing anything different to you when you admit yourself that you don't know the numbers?

Very odd. {Ed002's Note - Fine - this is why is is pointless providing any numbers at all. People asked and I obliged and still the trolls come out. Must be pleased with yourself.}

The editor didn't have to confirm the fee to you, he rarely does it for us United fans. You should be glad that you have an editor who is willing to provide his knowledge/info to you.

The editor wouldn't say his fee was 13.3m euros plus 1m euros in possible add-ons if this info wasn't correct. Just accept that he has cost you around £15m in total (fee £11m).

Disney! {Ed002's Note - Lucky someone bothers to read the press releases. Plus taxes, agent fees and a signing on fee of course.}.

17 Jul 2012 13:20:29
Roma reported the fee and that it is due in 3 installments - 13.3 euro + 1m euro bonus. Where's the argument it's in a press release, so everyone calm down

13.3m Euro into pounds is 10.5

That is hardly over paying now is it?

BthekingB

17 Jul 2012 16:37:30
For anyone who has disagreed with Ed002, the figures have been released by Roma on their official site. He's not plucking them out of his ar5e, they're available for anyone to see. Copy and paste the link below if you don't believe him. Sean

What we ALL need to remember is it IS way to much for him,end of.

Ed... I agree that many countries have some form of VAT but what I was trying to say is it is not a cost that LFC have to incur as they will claim it back via a UK VAT66 certificate. It does not become a part of the actual cost of a player transfer from Italy. I'm an accountant. {Ed002's Note - Some of the VAT can be reclaimed - but none of the fee on the agent fees.}

17 Jul 2012 03:37:38
Hi Ed's!
Any chance of lassana diarra? Hardly plays for Madrid now with there huge stack of CM.
Would be good cover for Lucas {Ed002's Note - Anzhi made a very significant offer for Diarra and Roma could not realise their interest although the player was open to a move to Rome. This leaves Spartak Moscow, who have an offer on the table, or Galatasaray as the likely destination for him unless an offer comes from PSG or, possibly, Spurs.}

I don't think he'd be happy to join a team unless he was guaranteed a place in the team, 'good cover' wouldn't cut it with him.

Adam

You think he'd come and play second fiddle to Lucas?? ha. We might as well try and sign Messi as well. We need the cover for Downing

17 Jul 2012 02:03:22
If Real Madrid sign Modric what does that mean for Xabi Alonso? Any poosibility of a return to Liverpool then this summer? {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid have already sold one midfield player and others are available. Alonso is not one of them at this time.}

Buying any senior player from Real would be an issue because of wages.

I don't think we need Xabi. I love the guy but we have Suso. Same mould as Xabi but technically more gifted for his age.

With respect I think Suso has a way to go to catch Xabi.

I heard Madrid said he was to be offered a 4yr extension so I dont think they will be getting rid of him anytime soon

PaulLfc

Im sure Madrid want rid of Kaka so why not have a go for him? {Ed002's Note - They do, but he wages would be a significant issue.}

17 Jul 2012 00:10:29
Just been told we are talking to a Spanish player by the name of Miguel Perez Cuesta, but I have never heard of him. I even got my contact to spell it, I thought he said custy lol. Anyone know anything about him? Eds, anyone?
Ringo. {Ed002's Note - I expect that Michu is a player who has been watched by scouts of a number of clubs possibly including Liverpool but I think it unlikely a move to England is going to happen this summer although Swansea and West Brom have, in addition to Sevilla, shown some interest. He only arrived in Madrid last summer.}

16 Jul 2012 23:04:55
Hi Eds & Reds,

Just wondering could I get your opinion on something Eds, if Aqualani (not bloody Aquaman) is to indeed stay (hopefully we can get rid,cause quite frankly i think he lacks the committment) and Joe Cole seems to have a future, the gaffer seems to like Jordan Henderson, do you think Charlie Adam may be got rid of?

IMO, I dont think he has the vision required for the CAM role, seems a bit laboured in his passing. I dont think he has the tackling abilities to cover Lucas Spearing and Shelvey will be used as cover for Lucas.

Now thats a lot of maybes but Rodgers is a man of quality not quantity.

On a seperate note, the negativity shown by some "fans" here is ridiculous, we havent kicked a ball in anger yet and people are getting on the players and managers backs.

R_R {Ed002's Note - I would expect that after the tour we will see better who may go on loan and who will be made available.}

You mean Aquilani, if you're going to have a go at people calling him "Aquaman" at least spell his real name correctly.

You may be right that adam is a doubt but spearing is definitely the week link. sell him first

Assuming 2 players for each position:

DM will be Lucas and Allen fighting it out, with Spearing moving on (possibly on loan with permanent move at end of season) and Coady ready as back up but still featuring for the ressies.

2 x ACM will be Gerrard, Henderson, Shelvey and Aquilani unless AA moves on (looking increasingly unlikely) or Shelvey goes on loan, which he doesn't want.

Cole will be an option for LF, NOT ACM.
Borini, Suarez and Dempsey could be anywhere across the front 3.
Expect a RF to sign e.g Sturridge or Walcott. Sterling and Suso will also be used as a back up for wide forwards, though don't expect to see much of them.
Bellamy and Carroll as good as gone.

Thanks for posting my last comment eds! Had to get it off my chest! Amazing work with the sites and in retaining immense patience with the plebs. :)

17 Jul 2012 01:01:58
Adam Johnson rwill be a Liverpool Player this week - source, a current LFC Player

Noooooooooo - although, if he does sign, as he will be wearing the red of LFC, I'll have to admit, he will be great signing and the best deal of the summer. All players get my 100% backing when they pull the shirt on.

John B

Why are we buying a winger and selling our centre forward this is doi my head in

Time will tell mate, but don't expect anybody to believe you.

Yeah, sure. Who's the current LFC player?

SUMON VAI

At least put your name when you post info like that. Or is it another made up rumour...?

Maybe he can't put his name because the poster IS the current LFC player... hmmmmm!?!?! I'll believe it when I see it.

You're in America with them now then? Or is it one of the players coming back from the Euros and you're holidaying with them?

Adam Johnson is quality and will get even better once he get a run in a team!!! Lets just hope its hour team and not someone else's.

Strong rumours in our pub, yesterday! that johnson to sign for everton! with money from baines deal.. 12 million.

17 Jul 2012 00:17:58
The Telegraph reporting that Allen deal is close and we're still negotiating over a fee with Fulham for Dempsey. Both have asked their respective clubs not to deny them the move to Merseyside. All we need now is Walcott!

Why on earth would we want Walcott? For 3m maybe. But I don't think he'll fit into Rodgers style of football. He doesn't keep possession particularly well. Is lazy. Has a couple of good games a season. Just look at the Arsenal forums. They couldn't care less if he left.

Walcott? Have I missed something? Are we even interested as I don't actually think he is that good.

But where would Walcott play?!? with Suarez Borini and dempsey he wouldn't start

17 Jul 2012 11:19:56
Sounds like The Telegraph have been reading Macca's page

Walcott would be a good impact player, also he would have good sell on value so dont see why not.

I'll take Allen and Dempsey. Let Wallcot stay where he is.

16 Jul 2012 23:53:21
Hi ed. heard from a friend in south wales that we did enquire about Neil Taylor from swansea. young left back. looks a good prospect.

Think he's just (and I mean JUST) signed a new 4 year deal.

16 Jul 2012 23:28:29
Dempsey very close to signing. Then the priroty woll be to oflload carrol to raise funds for Allen and Dempsey and Walcott. BR also wants Aquillani and cole to stay

You're right about BR wanting to keep Aquilani and Cole, but selling Carroll isn't vital to complete deals for Allen, Dempsey, Sturridge/Walcott etc.

I am surprised that BR wants Cole and Aquilani to stay. More like he has no option as they are happy to keep taking their big wage packets.
I wonder if they would be so keen to stay if they were asked to take a wage cut.

BR knows that he has not got "wheelbarrow full of money" to buy players. and hence, in our current squad cole and aquilani are the only world class midfielders apart from SG. I would like them to stay and I am sure BR can prove Kenny's decision to replace them with Adam, Downing and Hendo was wrong.

Henderson is a massive young talent and there's zero chance he will be sold, especially with BR in charge. Expect to see him as first choice as Gerrard's ACM partner for the coming season and beyond. Once he starts playing there rather than shoved out on the wing we'll see the best of him, very quickly.

16 Jul 2012 23:15:13
Allen in tuesday-spearing to west brom £3million

Please please please be true about spearing, he's shocking!! not nocking his efort, hes just not good enough.

16 Jul 2012 22:42:30
allen deal close carrol back to newcastle with maybe another player coming the other way dempsey 75percent certain he will sign but allen 100percent

sc89

Or....

Allen is in fact a united fan, who has just moved house with his other half who is pregnant and due to pop a kid out very soon. He is in no rush to leave Swansea.

There has been no contact by Liverpool or Rodgers for him.

Newcastle want Carroll, they know their loan offer won't be accepted but they're declaring interest in his return and hoping Andy will push for a return from the Liverpool end.

Dempsey is fairly certain to sign if the price is right. He wants the move.

p.s. percentages on transfers are ridiculous

Yes 'cos being a fan of a club has always meant not moving to or playing for a rival club. {Ed002's Note - Like Carragher you mean?}

Borini, Dempsey, Allen & Walcott/A.Johnson. I'll be happy. Carroll bye bye.

SUMON VAI

17 Jul 2012 10:32:38
alright would've been more impressive if you said it before Macca did.
