Eds just a thought. Could we or the Keita/ Van Dyke be waiting to see the outcome of our CL qualifier before making any moves? I started thinking this earlier and could see why it would benefit us and the players. I just can't see how it would benefit the selling clubs as they will have less time to find replacements.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed025's Note - i dont think that is a factor mate..

18 Jul 2017 00:13:43
I think both will come down to whether saints or Rbl will accept a fee, then if we will pay it.

Agree10 Disagree2

18 Jul 2017 06:43:05
I think it's more a case of if The selling club and the player agree then there is a good chance it will get done ;)

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Jul 2017 09:16:32
We can not only hope for the best. wht if any of these moves didn't get through? i think if the clubs are not realising their players Keita and Dijk, Klopp should prepare for next alternative.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2017 11:58:14
The problem is so far, we're having big difficulties even getting our second choices. With that in mind, it might actually be better to wait than go for our 3rd choices.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jul 2017 19:38:14
Kinda makes a bit of sense to me as the players WANT to play in the CL, but they have reported said they only want to join us and not teams who are certain in the CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 18:50:41
Evening ed

You have said there is other interest in Keita, but not sure if there is any truth in Utd showing interest? My mate is ribbing me saying they are going to get him.

Believable2 Unbelievable20

17 Jul 2017 19:41:06
You don't have to worry lad . It's happening you just have to wait.

Agree10 Disagree5

17 Jul 2017 20:03:56
I am reading all over the place they are in for him. If they are we can forget about it because like it or not they will pay what's asked, Unfortunately.

Agree4 Disagree14

17 Jul 2017 20:04:43
City are interested. 'Apparently' the player has said he wants to join us tho rather than them.

Agree5 Disagree7

17 Jul 2017 20:10:48
Could this not just be his agent trying to hurry us up?

No they'aren't! City and Inter!

Agree1 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 21:22:37
Pogba and keita. Yeah where all screwed.

Agree4 Disagree7

17 Jul 2017 22:10:37
Yeah they will get him along with Bale and Ronaldo!

Our fans are blaming the club for not willing to pay the asking price but there is no asking price. RBL don't want to or need to sell keita which makes negotiating difficult for us. If a deal hasn't already been agreed like some would have us believe it has, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it is agreed as money talks and no one wants to keep an unhappy player of that value who can leave for a lot less in 12 months time.

Agree3 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 22:14:03
Why would they spend so much with pogba in the squad? Surely Keita would baulk at game time?

Agree1 Disagree4

17 Jul 2017 22:17:59
Gentleman. We're (Liverpool fans) in danger of turning this brilliant site into an absolute circus. I often read through the other PL rumour pages and I've got to admit we take the gold for whinging. We are so quick to believe unreliable sources that macca and the eds have not confirmed. We've been told the latest on the NK situation, let's see how it unfolds.

Agree19 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 22:54:55
All this kieta talk over the last month has lead to fans screaming. "We need a holding midfielder! " I personally don't think we do. He would be a fantastic signing. But I won't be devastated if it doesn't happen. If vvd doesn't happen though I will be gutted unless klopp finds someone better.
Thumbs down is on the right guys!
Hendo is more than capable and more athletic than kieta.

Agree2 Disagree13

{Ed025's Note - really?..you have not seen much of keita then superred i take it..

17 Jul 2017 23:23:45
Naby Keita not a holding player he's a box to boxs player .

People need to relax his agent is the same as mane and there best mates .

The selling team is trying to save face that a key player what's to leave and don't what fans to think there turning into every other team in Germany.

He doesn't what any other team.

Agree8 Disagree2

18 Jul 2017 02:19:37
I haven't ed just trying to soften the blow if it doesn't happen. I always feel I'm disrespecting the players we currently have when swooning over other teams players. I know it's unpopular but I just don't see it as a priority. Unless can is off and we don't know yet. I guess without Lucas were not as strong in that department anymore. But yeah, I haven't seen him really, watched some clips. Hope there is room for Hendo as he has been constantly getting better and I always feel a lot safer when he plays. Knits us together nicely and I think he will get better still.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - hendo is not a bad player superred but naby is certainly an upgrade on him mate, jordan has been out for a while now and liverpool need someone with a good engine and keita is your man..

18 Jul 2017 12:29:18
Do you think there is room for the both of them on the team sheet eds? If so is can going to be warming the bench? Not to mention lallana (probably our best player in first few months last yr, along with mane) and wijnaldum. I guess the latter two can play on the right and left of midfield. Kieta signing makes me think klopp is going to go 352 but then where does Robertson fit in
Cheers for reply ed. Sorry to get carried away.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - this is just my opinion superred but i think jordan and adam will be squad rotation players mate..

17 Jul 2017 14:17:17
Reading newcastle willing to offer 10 million for Ojo! Anyone else heard this?

Believable4 Unbelievable5

17 Jul 2017 14:38:52
I read this somewhere earlier but think it unlikely. A loan maybe but seems illogical to sell.

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed001's Note - the lad doesn't see a future for himself at Liverpool, he would prefer a permanent move.}

17 Jul 2017 14:40:23
It would be a good move for him if he'd be playing week in week out. I'm hoping it doesn't happen though.

Agree5 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 14:50:39
The article said Newcastle considering permanent transfer as they keep getting rejected for a loan deal.

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Jul 2017 14:54:50
ed001 would a 'buy back clause' (or similar) be an option if he did go on a perm move?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no idea.}

17 Jul 2017 15:08:27
I doubt Newcastle would have the same interest if there was a buy-back clause. Not at £10m anyway.

Agree1 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 16:47:13
I would snap their hands off if they offered £10m.

Agree4 Disagree7

17 Jul 2017 17:13:55
Why buy solanke and sell ojo? Seems mad to me. The lad (ojo) could become one of world's best. Not surprising he wants to move with solanke coming in ahead of him in pecking order. We are going to regret selling him one day.

Agree2 Disagree9

{Ed025's Note - "could become one of the worlds best"??,and i could be elected the next pope... come on mate get a grip will you..

17 Jul 2017 17:31:59
I'm with EpicPotato from Ojo's perspective somewhere where he plays and develops is good but he has a lot of talent and it would be mad to let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 17:32:45
Are you catholic ed025?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i am ron but not a practicing one..if i went to confession i would be in there for about 3 weeks mate.. :)

17 Jul 2017 18:21:18
We've had several academy players that were being touted as future stars - Ojo and Branagan were especially well spoken of 2 summers ago. Why are they failing, so far, to convert their potential, Eds?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it can be a number of factors rob, the money and fame go to some of their heads, some just stagnate and some find distractions like women, booze etc get in the way..it was women and booze with me mate.. :)

17 Jul 2017 18:48:12
Superred-There is more chance of me winning a big duck contest in the NBA than Ojo becoming one of the worlds best!
Also Solanke plays in a different position to him and looks a better talent, Ojo couldn't make the u20s starting line up!

Agree1 Disagree3

17 Jul 2017 19:45:53
let's have it right, I'd have loved to see Ojo succeed as much as anyone, fact is he hasn't shown enough and we can ill afford him the opportunity to grow in the 1st team next season. The lad will get every opportunity at a lesser club and he should go for it. Fair play to him.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 20:06:21
Am i missing something with Ojo? I saw him a few times at Wolves and saw very little to get excited about.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 20:11:50
One of the worlds best?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Jul 2017 21:50:41
Ojo was rated very highly a couple years back. His injury issues have set him back. I still like to think he could make it but he has to want to. He looked very tentative when he first came back from injury but was starting to push on towards the end of the season

And I doubt his wanting to leave has anything to do with Solanke but probably more to do with the club going for Brandt.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 22:21:49
Ojo is class. He's effortless, that's how you can tell how good he is. Like Digger, he just glides around the pitch.
If you doubt his ability, look at how he mugged Stoke defenders in the premier league in 2015/ 16.
He had injuries last season.

It would be more of a mistake to lose Ojo than it was to lose Suso.

Agree5 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 22:23:48
Difficult for him to perform and earn a chance while out injured for so long. Likewise with England under 20s you could argue he did well to make the squad considering how little he'd played with injury. People are quick to shoot down the youngsters.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 21:33:19
Who did you play for ed025.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i wish i could say someone big ravinoge, but truth is the highest i played was for willaston in the west cheshire league mate..

17 Jul 2017 19:21:47
The booze explains some of the comments I suppose.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - how very dare you jezza.. :)

17 Jul 2017 22:48:58
Booze and women, potent ingredients. So, do you think Ojo could have done more?

We read last year Barcelona were looking at Branagan, which if true speaks volumes for the boy, so how is he progressing and do you see him breaking through to the first team? At 21 he seems to have been overlooked with all the players that have come in and that we continue to be looking at. Is he really as good we thought?

Thanks for the responses.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 23:12:34
Brannagan had an injury ravaged season last year so didn't kick on as hoped. Hopefully his career will get back on track this year

And ed25 if you do go to confession, don't tell them you are a blues fan or you will never get out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we are actually gods own club phil...have you ever seen mary in a red dress mate?.. :)

17 Jul 2017 23:15:04
To me ojo is like those stereotypical teenage boys who is just physically bigger stronger and faster than his peers. Then they starts playing with adults and they are found wanting. To me this is a Massive factor as to why it is difficult for younger players to break through into the first team.
because for so many of them it takes a long time for the mental side of the game to catch up to their physical side. And then ultimately clubs are always looking to bring in new players either, the same age or older, who can bring a more well rounded version of what they have currently EG solanke v OJ.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2017 02:40:22
When I say "could become one of world's best" I'm not saying this season and I'm not talking messi/ Ronaldo. But he could easily become a free scoring player in both premier league and champions league. He has pure class. Selling him is madness and I don't know why he doesn't get more games. In five years I would bet anything he is playing regularly in one of top leagues in Europe and scoring.

Hi eds,

Just heard a rumour that board members at RBL have decided to sell keita?

Any truth in this?

Thanks for the good work.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - nothing has changed this morning as far as I know. As I have explained they have made it clear that they do not wish to sell any key players and in discussions with another English side last week they stressed various points about direct contact with players etc.. However, I doubt this will deter Liverpool from making a further offer.}

17 Jul 2017 12:20:09
Do you think Liverpool are wasting their time? I know the lad seems to have class but a) RB don't need the money. B) RB have stated time and again he is not for sale and won't be leaving and c) I think I read on here while Keita is wanting to join us he would not rock the boat to make it happen. All this being considered would it not make RB look weak and untrustorthy to their own fans if after all the talk he ends up leaving?

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - I have explained everything I can on this matter.}

17 Jul 2017 12:30:18
Sorry I have just read through using the search Thanks Ed002.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 13:12:33
The deal will happen. I think just a case of agreeing payment terms. The DOF doesn't want to sell but the other board members see the business sense in selling a player they paid 15 million for last year for 70 million this year. I think it's just a matter of time for this deal and vvd.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has been no bid accepted at all.}

17 Jul 2017 14:40:05
Doesn't matter how rich an organisation is, 60 million will always turn heads.

Ed2, how's the head imprint doing on your desk?

Agree3 Disagree2

17 Jul 2017 18:16:37
Rangnik the sporting director who is adamant he won't be sold has gone on holiday in a bit of a huff apparently. There are members of the board who are open to a sale at the right price. At least 70m I'd imagine. Even RB won't want to lose 20m on him leaving next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 18:52:21
Liverpool may be getting Keita before the end of the transfer window but one is not sure if the guy will blend and make liverpool a better team. something is working for Keita his pint size stature and quick feet draw up similarities between him and Kante so it is easy to presume. He could be the next sensation in Liverpool. Meanwhile, it is not sure.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 16:44:57
I'd be more worried about the permanent palm shaped red mark on Ed2s face Putney 🙈🙈.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2017 12:42:24
Kante = best player in league! Do me a favour! He is a nice guy and humble. The spoilt brats in the prem couldn't bring themselves to deflate their egos and vote for hazard or mani or kane, Ali. I would take all four of those over kante. Pundits were saying "it's no coincidence that chelsea (with kante) have won the league". Well. yes it is a coincidence. Conte going 352 and the genius of hazard and killer instinct of Costa is what won them the league. Kante did an amazing job in the holding role. He is a true gentleman and a scholar but not the best player in our league. Not best player at Chelsea. It's embarrassing next too Ronaldo and Co. Best player should be the most skillfull players who make things happen. Not the most destructive player who breaks things up.

Put it this way = would you swap him for mane? Coutinio? (That's ridiculous) lallana? Even henderson?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Jul 2017 10:44:28
Morning all. Ed002 has your PA managed to get you any information as to whether we have tabled a bid (or an improved bid) for Keita since your last visit to the pub where she left nothing for you? Have a great day :)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There has not been a second bid yet.}

17 Jul 2017 20:39:30
I read about a rumour that Samsung had to pay Apple $1bn and did so with 30 trucks full of 10cent coins or something. It unfortunately turned out to be fake.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jul 2017 21:54:48
You'd think that Aplle would've reported Samsung to the Feds for having that many fake dimes.

Hi Eds. Is it true that a deal has been agreed for Robertson? I think I read somewhere it was 8mil. Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - People keep telling me that the fat kid from Bolton on Twitter has confirmed Emre Can signed a new contract more than a month ago, Liverpool signed Keita in May, again in June and again last week, Roberston was done last week as well and a secret deal was done for van Dijk in May. Sadly, the club can't allow these signings to be announced just yet. With Mbappe and Suarez signing it will work out to be a decent summer for Liverpool. It is nice that they got all of this done early.}

17 Jul 2017 01:15:16
Haha, Thanks for the reply Ed002 I am guessing that is a no then. So when will all these players be announced? and at what point do the club plan on declaring bankruptcy? :)
