Hi Eds, I've read speculation about Liverpool scouting James Ward-Prowse at Southampton, just wondering if you know of any interest? Many thanks

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, no.}

real madrid are putting a combined bid for suarez and coutinho. the fee for both players is believed to be around £115m

Believable9 Unbelievable233

I remember the Eds saying that, Suarez is their 3rd choice with Aguero being the 1st. But why would they want Coutinho? But if they do, I would gladly swap Coutinho for Di Maria or Jese. Anyways, can the Eds clarify if Real have enough finances to table a £115m bid?

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to money at all.}

Heard this bull weeks ago.

Coutinho for jessie please pal believe in the players we have stop bringing ypu fifa antics here

Agree0 Disagree0

£115m would just about buy Suarez at the minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was merely asking a yes or no question as in do you think Real can table a £115m bid? Yes or No? Would be great if you could answer. Cheers Eds.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are making numbers up and then asking me to answer a ridiculous question. Finances confuse the hell out of most football fans.}

You would gladly trade coutinho? let's just forget that's he's been very good for us this season and will only excel in the future but what about loyalty man?

Agree0 Disagree0

So theyd get coutinho for free? Rubbish

Anybody that would swap countinho jese needs their head read he has suffered a very bad knee injury and who knows how well he will return from it, with Suarez I always felt real didn't have as much interest in him as the media suggested last year but this summer if he has a good world cup we may struggle if they flex their muscles they usually get who they really want.

Liverpool have approached Benfica about Lazar Markovic. Benfica are asking for €35M. I'm not sure this deal will be deemed as viable, for one thing Chelsea have an option to buy him for €15M so I can't see us shelling out €20M more for him, but I can confirm that there is interest.

Believable33 Unbelievable21

Lazar Markovic is same type of player as Sterling, so I really don't think we need him now.

Agree1 Disagree1

Serbian Red, we need numbers. Having a player similar to Sterling is great, it means we have options on the bench which work within our system and are not weaker players e.g Aspas, Alberto. This is essential for CL.

Agree2 Disagree0

Aspas has not been given much of a chance due to the superb form of SAS, Alberto was brought for the future and when he has played he looks a good player, we will need all the players we can get as next season we will be competing in all competitions.

Agree1 Disagree0

We already own 50% of Markovic :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with You Puzzled Red, but I don't think we will spend 20 million for him .I would say one more time we need to scout Serbia lot more, Markovic was sold for 6 million, Mitrovic (best player of Euro U19) for 5 million, last one is Jojic who gone to Borussia Dortmund for only 2 million .They are all from Partizan football academy, same as Jovetic, Nastasic, Ljajic, Tosic .

Agree1 Disagree0

@Lampsy_8 you have an agreement worn benfica. You do not own 50% of him as that is illegal in the EPL. Co-ownerships are quite rightly banned here.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not illegal for EPL teams to part own players - Chelsea are part owners of a number of players. I guess you don't understand the rules. And you clearly don't understand the situation with Markovic.}

It was my understanding that premier league clubs aren't allowed to co own, however I could be confusing with 3rd party ownership. It was my understanding that chelsea have an option to buy markovic for 15m, and not that they own 50%.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Your understandings are incorrect - co-ownership and third party ownership are the same thing. As for Markovic, you are incorrect there as well.}

Well unless the rules have changed since the Tevez case, after which the FA did bring in rules against 3rd party ownership then my understanding is & will remain that it is illegal.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The rules haven't changed - this issue is that you simply aren't bright enough to understand them.}

El_Pistolero mate, I think you're missing the point that Markovic isn't playing in the Premier League as of yet. If Chelsea (or whoever in the PL) bring him into the fold, then his ownership will have to be sorted, until then Chelsea/Mr. Abramovich's 3rd party ownership vehicle (since I'm not sure what group actually owns the other 50%) are perfectly within their rights to hold part ownership of players not in the PL. In fact, I'd argue it's a very smart thing to do and it wouldn't surprise me to see Sheikh Mansour or other owners do the same thing (if they aren't already).

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Benfica hold the other 50% of the player. Chelsea are part owners of a number of players. Some, they will by the full rights to (such as Wallace) and others they won't.}

Try me. The only way I can think of it not being the case is that it's only illegal to have 3rd party ownership players play in FA games & competitions.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Markovic plays in Portugal, not England. You might as well just drop this, it is clearly far too complicated for you.}

That was the point I was making. Just to clear it up, are clubs under the FA allowed to co-own players in other leagues (like the Portuguese league), but in order for them to play in the premier league they have to be 'full' owners, in which case I apologise to Lamps and yourself ed as it was a case of me misinterpreting the rules.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - That is correct. All it means that certain players have what is called third party, which might be a group of investors, might be another club owner part of their rights. A number of countries do not allow third party ownership, like England, and it can make transfers complicated. The registration of the player stays with the club he plays for - so the owners cannot force, for example, Benfica to sell a player like Rodrigo, but they can control the asking price.}

@Serbian Red - do you know about any interest in another Serbian wonderkid Luka Jovic? Thnx

What I was (poorly) asking Ed02 is it actually ...........

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to explaining that here.}

Cheers, Ed02. Completely understandable.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for understanding.}
