Can I please say to those who are asking about
Brad jOnes and whether or not he is leaving please give it a rest he has lost his child nothing else matters . I for. One would let him do whatever he wants . Peace be with you and I hope you can find some peace brad

Well said

Whoever said unbelievable on this post is a disgrace!

I agree with what you saying but cant find any abuse of brad jones? {Ed001's Note - he never said there was abuse, just to let the lad have time to decide on his future without the constant questions. Some things are more important than even footie.}

Sorry just seen the one edjit who wanted him shipped out, 100% right lad

It was me who asked, and even though I explained myself more fully and apologised on the banter page, I'll do it here too. My comment was really more an enquiry for an update on his situation, whether he was still wanting to move on because i just assumed the window would be his only chance to do so until the summer if that was what he still wanted to do. The one thing I'm sure of is that he has the support and best wishes of the best supporters and club in the land, and rightly so. RIP Luca, YNWA.

The lad needs space and support at this dark time not transfer rumers. Think how his family are feeling. YNWA.

His lad died, it's s**t but can not be helped, he has played for the first team less than 5 times, he's not good enough and was a ''make do signing'' because he qualified as ''Home grown''.

Not being a cold hearted so and so, but these are the truths, he is a footballer, who doesn't play football, he should spend what time he has in the game playing, that's what he loves and he's lucky enough to get paid hansomely for his career choice.

The tragic events with his son who was denied any real chance of having a life at such a tender age is not something that will ever go away, but we must keep going, keep plugging away at this madness called ''life''.

Brad needs first team football in a new club to get a fresh start. He needs games. He needs to be strong for his wife and extended family. {Ed001's Note - maybe he needs to be at a club he loves more than first team football?}

Very thoughtfull post you echo the sentiments of every liverpool fan

You could just follow him on twitter and ask him directly...

I vaguely remember hearing that the club let him train with a club in France while Luca had treatment there, but it was very much a take the time you need kind of arrangement. Regardless as to what you think of him as a player (I've always liked him, despite me talking him up ahead of a socceroos game we drove to sydney for and him having a stinker!), it appears the club are standing by him, and so they should. YNWA, YNWA indeed...

Give the lad a chance to get over his loss,I know only too well I have buried two daughters,and it the hardest thing ever,nobody expects to outlive their children and bury them,would not wish it on my worst enemy so a bit if heart please. Suppose unless you have been unfortunate enuf to experience it you will never understand

I hear he and his are exspecting another baby, i wish Brad all the luck and love in the world. All the best.

KNEE JERK

My support to him. Even if he is not playing first team football, I am sure he must be helping his team mates in training. In training several keepers are needed.

In this day and age with footbal being so focused on profit rather than people I have the utmost respect in the way LFC have given Brad the space and time to get his things back on track after such a great loss. I actually think Brad will come back to football more focused and determined to repay this support. YNWA Brad

Well done LFC"s important people! we are true class and treat people like they are people!

Dunno if im stomping on old grounds here,is there any news on the lad shaqiri ??,think he'd do an awesome job for us,break the bank to sign him i say !!

Pretty sure he went to galatasary this window

He's definately a player with potential wish we would snap him up for the future

He dominated man united in the champions league over two games. we are not even in the europa league.... think he would be one for ASAP!

Just found out they placed a 10 million bid 5 days ago :)

18 Jan 2012 22:52:17
Ed, Is it true that we have agreed a fee for the lad Texeira from S.Lisbon, or is it all still rumous?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Accept it as done.}

How highly do you rate this guy Ed? as i dont know much about him. Keep up the good work, Cheers! {Ed002's Note - He is a kid and not one to spur the team on this year.}

Sarcasm becomes you ed! I for.one am.glad that club are keeping their cards close to their chest, unlike the rest.of the league who could be accused of tapping up they chase their players through the media so much

Hillsborough justice

epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/19149

Great effort everyone. Facebook, Twitter even Youtube, get it out there if you can. I've done my best but some of you out there must be quasi-famous (Macca, Blair, Chris in Tamworth)

The Booter {Ed002's Note - We have supported this throughout and I think the folks from here have got off their collective butts to do what they can. If the leg ends can help then all the better.}

I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, Booter mate. Everyone I know have signed it, in the past few days.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Thank you sweetheart!

I dunno if HM government are fudging the figures. But if you keep refreshing the page - the numbers who signed it rise then fall. Strange is all.

How many signatures are needed btw? I hope there are enough.

BJH YNWA.

Dalglish retweeted it and got a load of tweets abusing the players. We have classy, classy fans.

Hi eds heard news from a reliable source that lfc have put in two bids for players, none of them play in premier league, do you know who theyre for?

Thanks

Mac {Ed002's Note - We can only speculate Hazard and Cavani.}

Seriously eds ahve you heard of anything?

Mac {Ed002's Note - We have no idea sorry.}

Editor cos of your note on this expect a million questions on hazard and cavani now. {Ed002's Note - So what changes?}

Ed002 you have a wicked sense of humour, although you're only inviting more annoying questions ;)

PJH {Ed002's Note - I do the best I can.}

Big lolz ed

Best reply of the day Ed, Lol. One mention of Thorgan Hazard this morning by an Ed caused an influx of posts about him. This will send the idiots into a posting frenzy. Brilliant.
RNred

Finally the eds tell us something completely unrealistic that we want to hear!! Well done eds.

Pat

Most people cant read sarcasm

There allready 7 people clicked agree! what sort of idiots come on here? youv'e done it now Ed.

I think bidding for these two is a mistake. We should try and create a hybrid superstar that tops all other footballers. We'll call him Cristiano Messi! I would also accept Eden Cavani.

What about Peledonaldo?

Hazard is the most unlikely player to come cavani on the other hand could come to anfield {Ed002's Note - No chance.}

18 Jan 2012 22:40:32
hi eds,ive sent a link on twitter to this site to,adam morgan,kelly,adam,lets see if any of them give any info,if not they will see what moaning feckers lfc fans have become,jimmybosun, {Ed002's Note - We love you for that man.}

For once im not sure whether this is sarcasm or not?

Not all of us!

Haha brilliant!

It's a shame Jay Spearing isn't on twitter or he could have come on and given the now famous "Spear Report" in person :)

UNiT

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit!! Ya very good at it though ed2

I bet if it was Joey Burton he actually post info here...that guy cant keep his mouth shut

18 Jan 2012 21:39:25
Eds, have you put the petition request on other fans pages? There are plenty of other supporteres who are sympathetic despite not being lfc fans? {Ed002's Note - Many will help but we cannot easily move it. You post it and I will ease it through. Clearly I am hated by many of the vegetables who will spoil it for the Liverpool fans - so we need to ride out those who prefer more harm than good out. It will be destroyed by the "mobile" users sadly.}

18 Jan 2012 21:35:29
Eds is it true about Defoe handing in a transfer request?

I have seen so many people against this and I really can't see why, I genuinely think he would be an awesome signing for us, if like to see where he is in the all time prem league scorers, I bet he is in/around the top ten and still got plenty of hunger and desire! {Ed002's Note - No idea sorry.}

He's no where near the top ten

Martin

You sure, nowhere near the top ten, or just another idiot?

Ray

I think we should get him in,if we pay £10 million and he fires us into the champs league,he'll have been a bargain !!

Top 10?.......With 108 career goals in 323 games he barely makes the top 20. At 29 years old there will be little to no resale value for him. He is not worth the reported £16million, he's only worth half that. Defoe is the type of player we need but there are others out there who would do the same job and who are better value in the long term. I hope I am wrong if he signs, but I get the feeling that there is the shadow of a cockney spiv laughing in the background with this one, esp at that valuation.

He has more than 108 career goals u fool, that's prob his prem total..the top 10, has jimmy Floyd at 127 and he was still playing games in the prem, well into his 30's...

Please tell me who is proven who can get us firing upto 4th, who is keen and hungry to play football?

This guy will get goals given a run in the team, guaranteed! To win games u have to score goals!

I'd push to 10-16 for him, he has a few yrs left in him, and with a new manager, we will be pushing to 4th and beyond

Ray

If he scored enuf goals to get us into a champs league postion, then he would off made up for his limted resale value.He's score 7 goals this season and he's hardly played. If came to us would make him the leading goal scorer in the team.

He is 17th apparently.

TSP

Yeah he is 17th top scorer ever in prem.... but emile heskey is 16th!!

18 Jan 2012 21:30:05
Don't know if anyone has looked on the Spurs rumour page but the rumour is a deal is in place for Defoe to come to LFC for 16mil.

Personally I think he's the right type of player we need, I just think the fee is a little excessive

Any Ed's heard anything?

Mark from Selby {Ed002's Note - Nothing.}

I will be shocked if we pay 16 mil for a 30 yr. old.

So you are happy for us to shell out 16 mil for a player Spurs don't think is good enough for them?!! - get a grip !!

Thought I'd make my first post on this very good site.. If you think 16 million is excessive for a proven premiership goalscorer and poacher like DEFOE, I'd hate to think what was going through your head when we paid out 35 million for a donkey...

18 Jan 2012 21:27:11
Ed been hearing River plate are willing to sell Lucas Ocampos for 15 million in Jan, and that we're interested. Do you know if this is true or not?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - River Plate's Lucas Ocampos has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy and that seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Inter Milan, Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus (not either of the Milan clubs) made a bid. Perhaps one for next year as a move in January seems very unlikely.}

18 Jan 2012 21:20:46
Hi eds what do you think of our young reserves/ u-18s?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - SWome will make it and some won't - but they appear to be generally a decent bunch.}

18 Jan 2012 20:57:07
Hi eds,
any chance of Iker Muniain in january? {Ed002's Note - No. Muniain has been touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and two clubs in England have certainly been approached all ready. The asking price is 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

"I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature."

We did for Suarez. hehe. I won't even bring up Andy Carroll - that wouldn't be fair!!!

BJH YNWA.

ps - I know you're (most likely) right btw ed002. Just causing mischief!

pps - Damn though! That kid Munain has a lot of ability, staggeringly good at times!

This all reminds me of when we gambled on a certain young lad from sunny Spain who had a lot of potential a few years back.....

Now I feel sad....

Munain is a fantasy dreamland signing. But sometimes fantasies and dreams come true!

I bet even in his darkest moments that Djimi Traore used to dream of one day lifting the European Cup...

18 Jan 2012 20:23:28
Eds any idea what the situation is with that young ghanian lad weve been linked with.he sounds like he could another good young capture if what i hear is true.jonny m {Ed002's Note - He was a kid on a trial - there is no update for him right now.}

His trial has finished and we are speaking to his agent about a permanent signing. He will probably be loaned out to a Belgian club, more than likely Genk who we have an agreement with.

18 Jan 2012 20:03:44
Any updates or solid info on David Texeira eds? I ve already checked the search function!
The freshmaker {Ed002's Note - Not at all.}

Hey just sharing a link, would be a shame to miss out on Sow, but I'm sure, if we match fenerbache's bid and, from his comments, he'd join u cheers

18 Jan 2012 21:49:17
Ed - is ir right that Defoe has handed in a transfer request?

Ozone {Ed001's Note - I don't know, but it is very likely to be true, he was certainly considering it, money was the only reason he hadn't already done so.}

So ed1 r we interested and where do u think hel end up {Ed005's Note - I'm sure we are interested and it is hard to say where he will end up. There will be plenty of interest but I personally can't see him moving abroad so if we moved I believe we'd have as good a chance as anyone.}

18 Jan 2012 21:32:55
The guy is right, Defoe handed in a transfer request at around 430 this afternoon!! It will be all over the news in the morning....

Does not fit in with FSG way of thinking, but with no champions league football at the moment we need to put games to bed. Hence why we just need a pure goalscorer and he will grab goals.

Dean

18 Jan 2012 20:20:17
Eds do you know of any interest in Nathan Redmond? {Ed001's Note - half the Prem has him watched, including us.}

18 Jan 2012 21:21:58
Hi ed's Not sure if this is a new rumour but heard it from some1 who usually gets it spot on! We r trying 2 do a deal for forlan of inter this will be a swap deal 4 kuyt and doni! Sounds good 4 me! We can get the goalie out on loan at hull back! great site as always especially this time of year! Nice 1 DHH L20 Kopite

Never in a 1,000,000 years will we sign Forlan! He's going on 34 and on huge wages.If your guy usually gets it right he hasn't this time!

Apart from Forlan's age and wages being a major stumbling block, there is also the issue of taking Peter Gulasci back to sit on the bench when he is injured. That is why Hull have re-signed Vittor Manone on loan from Arsenal.....It's not that easy making stuff up when you are unaware of the facts :)

Kuyt and Doni for frigging Forlan? You must be off your rockers, dude.

BooDaBooze

18 Jan 2012 20:38:15
Liverpool Have Signed Joao Carlos Texeira for 1 million .
Possibly sign luuk de jong in summer?
Moussa Soaw for around 10 million in summer

According to loads of other posters Sow is signing for Fenerbahce so how are we gonna sign him in 6 months time?

Hasn't Sow just signed for Fenerbache?

18 Jan 2012 20:36:36
Is the speculation about sau paulos wonderkid lucas true? Apparently inter milan has beat us and man utd to his signature?
skurks

Listen ; lucas has not been sold or in talks with any other club . he is good ;young and would cost 20mil or more

Well inter are supposedly in talks now...

18 Jan 2012 20:35:16
Joao Texeira
1 million transfer fee agreed

Re The Kevin Williams Petition.
Eds- Please post this reminder that people who have signed the petition MUST validate their address by clicking on the e-mail that will be sent to them by the government. It sometimes take several hours before the e-mail arrives, so don't forget to check your mail.
I'm worried that there might be a lot of people out there who think they have signed but have not validated their address. -SH-

Just done mine. Waiting for email confirmation. Robbie

MAKE SURE YOU VALIDATE YOUR SIGNATURE......sorry for it being in caps but this is very important and only 1 day left to sign.

Why the hell are people clicking disagree on the petition posts? its the same on the banter page to.

I signed it earlier and it was up to over 65,000 names so not that far to go!

Good point.. Just confirmed mine

Myk

Done mine.thanks for the heads up about validating it

King luis

18 Jan 2012 21:08:55
Liverpool agree fee with Sporting Lisbon for Joao Carlos Teixeira.

Where have you been for the last 8 hours

18 Jan 2012 20:49:07
Jermaine Defoe has handed in a transfer request at spurs... PLEASE don't come to us.

Why do people make up such crap

LIAR

STE

He is a good striker who seems to score in most games when he plays, however taking into consideration his age I would be disappointed if we spent any more than 5 mil on him. (If we get him that is) and certainly not the 20mil they supposedly want....

A good striker, who scores in most games and is a regular England international and you want for less than 5 mil... Yeah right.

I personally think he would be a good buy. I think he has to be worth 8.5 million of anyone's money! England international premiership experience fast and a poacher it's what we've been missing for some years. Just my opinion though I'm sure we all would prefer messi or many others.

Mike

Why is it, if someone posts a valid point or question, it doesnt come through, yet crap like this, does?

Would be happy to have him. Just hope we don't pay a ridiculous sum.

Money isnt coming out of my pocket so i dont care how much is paid!! we obviusly need a finisher and that is what defoe is!! get him in!!

Defoe is crap. Pls done sign him. Surely we can get a better and younger striker for that price

Even if he has put in a transfer request...u think harry redknapp guna sell him....NO unless a team is up for paying atleast 15 mil for him

18 Jan 2012 20:47:16
I have looked at the Uruguayan national newspapers and they are only reporting on the rumours in the English media and reference the comments made by Bruce

18 Jan 2012 20:43:43
Lvpool have signed David texiria(spelling) from groinegen in holland a Uruguayan

Mark my word

Think you might be wrong

Wrong teixeira, it's Joao Carlos Teixeira from sporting lisbon

Wrong one they have signed joao teixiera from sporting lisbon

18 Jan 2012 20:28:19
Liverpool where interested in Scott In the summer, Dalglish actually phoned him to tell him so but Comoli didn't want to pay what B,ham quoted and opted for Coates. Hence Scott's last minute move waiting round for Liverpool to Blackburn-seemed really happy when he joined-I just wanted to play in the premier league
Bob Hogan, Long Leg's firm

Wasnt scott dann cheaper than coates by 2 million cheaper so why would commoli not want to pay 5 million for a premier league proven player but he was more than happy to pay 7.5 for a unproven player it just doesnt make sense

18 Jan 2012 20:23:15
Any truth of the douglas costa from shaktar link?
I think granero would of been a shrewd piece of buisness aswell its a shame kadeira got injured!

18 Jan 2012 19:05:10
Liverpool have agreed a £1 million deal to sign Sporting Lisbon teenager Joao Carlos Teixeira

Any truth Eds? {Ed016's Note - I believe so, good deal if we did, been watching next gen and he looks a little alright, heard he isnt getting into the first team because the club owners pick the team not the manager}

Who is he

Great player, watched the Next Gen and was the star of the show. Great Buy again from Kenny.
Suso, coady, sterling all very close to first team football

Not what we need right now. Plus he will get nowhere near the first team. Name the last attacking young player to get a good run. Michael Owen

He plays for Sporting Lisbon B, they have best youth team in Europe and he was one of - if not their best player. They ripped the next gen apart by playing possession football like Barca.

He reminded me of Xavi and took the piss out of Wisdom, Coady etc. This is a coup to say the least.

He is good enough to play in a 4-3-3 along side Gerrard in the centre and is already a better attacking player than Henderson.

Not sure what his work rate and defending is like because whenever Sporting play they own the ball.

Red Owl.

How the hell do you pronounce Texeira?

Rob

It's fine to sign a 19 year old & I think it is really good signing.

The question is whether King Kenny will actually play him. The reason being that we need goals and he doesn't try anyone else from the reserves as we so close to the 4th place.

Anyway, hope Kenny does play him as we need the goals.

Pronounced "Tashera"

Tex-er-a with a strange prognostication of the 'er'

SIGN IT PLEASE. NEED 40K MORE. JUSTICEFORKEVINWILLIAMS http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/19149

(sorry for caps but its needed) pops {Ed016's Note - put onto every page! come on people, we can get that many!! we need to get this done. Remember British Citizens only, If you are a citizen living outside of the U.K you can still sign the petition and so can all of your family! doesn't matter if they are liverpool fans, get your Evertonian uncle to sign it, doesn't matter who they support, it has nothing to do with a "team" it is a Mother, absolutely devasted by the failure of a proper investigation into the death of her son who clearly did not die the way the investigation tells. Please, for the mum, show her what you never walk alone means}

Just signed it for me and the wife took less than 2 minutes ! No excuse people!!

Done.Come on people sign.

Done
James

Ed I signed this earlier today and was expecting a reply to my e-mail account but 8 hours on nothing? Believe I've read on here you respond to that so they know its genuine. There was 57,000 on there then I cant believe weve only had 3000 in all that time?
I am using a military e-mail address so it may be that but would be interested if anybody else has had problems.
RNred

Tis a pity that us lot across the water cant 'officially' sign this (wudn't wanna put in a false signature just in case) as im sure Mrs Williams would get thousands of supporters frm the Emerald Isle - JFT96 YNWA

Jeff the link on the liverpool web site works.

Done, guys please sign this

The government should hang their heads in shame. Why on earth does this woman need these signatures when its clearly obvious to any person with half a brain cell that there needs to be an inquest. Sorry eds, it just really annoys me. People get on with it. NOW!!!

Now 39,999. all sorted. Worthy cause, justice for the 96

Evered

Evening Ed's and fellow reds,just passing on some news ive just been told by a mate who's been working at Spurs Lodge today he's been told by a couple of people there that defoe is on his way to Liverpool some time this week! Just hope its not for the £20 million thats been talked about. Cheers :-)

If so, what a waste of money, on a another average English player, and 29yrs old. Can't even fathom the logic in this. If the club continues to sign cr*p players like this, then we deserve our current league position!. {Ed016's Note - NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. I will lock myself to the Paisley gates and go on a hunger strike if they sign Defoe untill he leaves. Despise the over rated}

Defoe has been on sky saying he has never asked to leave which probably means he is going to. So Harry has stated he is after a big name signing this window and that he believes they can win the title, since going there he has got rid of crouch, Keane and Bent and now Defoe. And some people on here think that Bent and Defoe who are not good enough for a very good football playing side are good enough for us? It's not that long ago we were in champions league finals, FA cup winners and just beaten into second in the league with a world cup winning striker up front. How far have we slid in 2/3 years that were now happy with spurs rejects?
RNred

Laughable, £20m at 29, what does that make Suarez then, £55 - £65 nice one 'array, blinder, me old mucker, sure it's a genuine Rolex, look ow owd it is.... Lol {Ed016's Note - lol I can just picture him walking into anfield with defoe trying to flog him off. Genuine England cap this one! wasnt that under steve macclaren? yes but still england international! 20 mil not a penny less }

I couldnt care less how much a player costs. at least not any more than whether we can afford him or not

Evening ed s fellow red, looks like someone using my intro and end just let you know it is NOT psv writing the defo rumours cheers eds

Defoe's a good player and probably what we need, but at twenty nine he's probably gonna be one that we have to take a pass on. At his age, seven or eight million is probably about his true worth. Don't think we will go for him, but if we did and were to spend anything over this ammount on him then serious questions have to be asked about the decision making at the club.

David

Sorry you should of just said you had rights on it! Cheers :-) Dan10

18 Jan 2012 18:39:46
All medias in Uruguay claims that - Liverpool agree deal for David Texeira from Gronighen.

This is our second good transfer after Joao Texeira who will sign in next three days.

I expect our 3rd buy will be Luc Costaignos, but he will be on loan with option to buy in summer.

Sorry to say, but that's all from January. Don't expect other names this window.

#nbstw

Dont want Luc Costaignos i want P.Coutinho

I would be happy with those signings.

Everyone needs to be realistic and accept that hazard, higuain etc will not be signing any time soon!

Nightmare, how exactly do we pronounce their names lol {Ed016's Note - LOOK CO-STAIN-OS, FIL-LEE-PAY COO-TEEN-HE-HO lol}

Stop taking the piss ed16 lol, the Texeira guys you donkey

I'm going TEX-AIR-A, what say you?

Are we sure we are not muddling up our texeiras

NO NO we sign Sow or Defoe or Bent or De Jong and David Texeira and Joao Carlos Teixeira and don't forget Hoilett or Sinclar

Tex-eira, eira. What ever will be will be...

-=Solar=-

It's pronounced Teh-SHARER.

The Uruguayan one would be pronounced takes-ay-ra

Sorry Tex - ay - ra

18 Jan 2012 18:35:10
Eds have you heard anything about Defoe putting/asking for a transfer? Just caught something about it on sky sports news
Steve {Ed019's Note - No, sorry}

18 Jan 2012 18:15:55
hi ed.

cavani is joining liverpool...

nah just joking the cavani stuff is nonsense but ive looked on the internet and liverpool have bidded for chris samba dont know how much for. (havent we got enough defenders like skrtel carrager kelly agger johnson and enrique!)

Could argue that we have been lucky with Agger not being injured this season as he has been in previous years. Samba would be a good back up or even challenge for the first team. Not quite sure Cara has much left in him (been a great servant) and are Coates and Kelly ready to step up to playing centre back.

Imagine Agger out next season, the centre backs don't look to solid

And another poster has us buying Scott Dann so we're gonna have an awful lot of CB's!

Well if you found it on the Internet it must be true!

can we get soldado plz tel me eds? {Ed019's Note - Please use the search function - this question has been answered a number of times}

Finnish newspapers telling that Liverpool and Chelsea are going to bid for 24 year old Finnish/Sierra Leones midfielder Medo Kamara who is playing for Partizan Belgrad.

I've played against him in Finland and he is a great player but is he good enough for Liverpool. I think not.

Have you heard anything about this?

P.S. Thank you for a great site! {Ed019's Note - Nothing}

18 Jan 2012 17:33:21
Hi eds. I think joe allen wouldnt be a bad buy. Better pass completion percentage than xavi and iniesta. Do we have interest in him and do u think we will.make an offer?

Jayo {Ed016's Note - I believe there is interest and the lad does have talent, does not belong at Swansea. We are always going to be interested in young talent, especially in the premiership.}

Joe Allen could be Steven Gerrards long term successor, but I can't see him coming in Jan. We may bid for him in the summer as long as no other club acts right now and I think if they do, we will.

Lucas has a better pass completion than Xabi Alonso that doesnt make him better than him. Nonsense.

Let's not be too hasty in bad mouthing Swansea. They play better footy than us!

Lucas also isn't a playmaker, he throws in important tackles. Alonso's main job is to pass (As is Allen's) , do the math. of course their percentage would be a bit lower.

Not sure how he'd fit in at Liverpool, Swansea play three across the middle whereas Liverpool tend to play two at the moment. We should take this into account when buying players, ie. the sysytem they are currently playing in compared to the one we want them to play in. Carroll looked a world beater in Newcastles system, now look at him. Similar thing with Adam at Blackpool, played in a three, seems to struggle though in a two. Fear the same with Allen.

David

Eds/Macca Ive read numerous reports/sites about Coutinho but they just say we are interested so i was hoping u could update me with your inside info.

Thanks
BigD {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through in the summer. He has had a few starts recently and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they want to sell but still may just consider a loan. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy.}

OK thanks ed002 for that info, id love to see him join but as you've said looks doubtful if they're selling Sneijder.

BigD

Would coutinho not get a work permit as part of an exceptional talent type thing?
i thought he'd been described as the future of inter. or has he not done enough to justify that yet?

Coutinho is capped at International level which also helps a lot of the time like with Anderson to United a few years back

Just read on the web that Tim Vickery claims we are definitely interested in Texeira Torres and the press in Uruguay claim it is a "done deal."

Cannot say I know anything of him except for a little look on You Tube but seemed tidy enough and knew where the goal was.

Thanks

Davey

18 Jan 2012 17:22:17
My girlfriend is from Uruguay and as ive said before her father works for the Urugayan FA and he reckons that David Texeira will be signed by LFC if we dont get our first two targets. He didnt know who these were! Also LFC have given permission to Suarez to attend Carnivale in Uruguay in February! And please can we stop berating our beloved LFC it took whiskey nose 7 seasons to win the Premiership and look at those scumbags now. Purslow destroyed us by sacking Rafa and hiring Hodgson if Kenny had been appointed sooner we would be challenging now without a doubt and the under performing players would have been phased out and been replaced i.e Caroll and downing..If your gonna blame anyone for our woes blame Cecil..We are buying and nurturing some superb youngsters, we will be a force again but not as soon as we would like but in 2 years that Liverbird will be prooning proudly on our shirts!! More news if and when I get it..Miami_Red

Purslow also helped get rid of the last set of yanks and bring in a so far stable ownership.
How can you also claim that if Kenny had been brought in sooner that Carroll and Downing would have been phased out when they where Kennys buys?

Don't managers phase out players that they buy? What is happening as Spurs with Defoe and Pavlyuchenko? And at ManU with Berbatov? {Ed016's Note - both still over rated and sh*t}

"if Kenny had been appointed sooner we would be challenging now without a doubt and the under performing players would have been phased out" Why is Kuyt still here then?

Purslow was pond life who thought he was some type of autocrat because he was a so called fan! He aided the departure of Hicks and Gillette because it was beneficial for him politically not because it was in the clubs interests. He was a cancer as evil as H&G. Purslow also got rid of Rafa, didnt give kenny the job and hired Hodgson instead..whats to say kenny wouldnt have bought Downing et al earlier? Anyway I dont want to argue with anyone I come in peace but some people should really get out some more!!

18 Jan 2012 17:22:00
Ed could you see Kuyt being utilised this month in a swap deal involving Loidero?

I don't believe the rumours on Teixera as I agree with the fact that after only joining Gronnigen in the summer of 2011 I just don't see him moving so ala Keane.

I do however believe that Grobelaar was referring to Loidero. Would you agree?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I have no idea. Sorry.}

Kuyt will never go to Ajax because he loves Feyenoord.

Nicky

It says on the l.f.c website that we have had a 1 mill offer accepted for teixera

It's a different texeira, the £1m one on the PFC site is Jose, the one at gronningen is David.

18 Jan 2012 17:21:51
Eds can I ask who is this player we have/are going to sign...don't really know what to search for...

KingMiz {Ed002's Note - I don't think anyone has spelt his name correctly - just read down the page and there is plenty on him.}

hey eds heared ay rumors about fernando llorente {Ed002's Note - I expect Llorente will stay with Bilbao.}

Ask yourselves this question fellow posters, eds, Macca:

When Carroll starts to produce the form he did at Newcastle then where would that leave Llorente if he were to sign ..

BigD

18 Jan 2012 16:58:55
Hi Ed,

Just a quick one, will be be signing Cavani..

Joking, dont worry! But i have heard that in the summer we will be looking at Werder Bremens young Turkish attacker Mehmet Ekici (spelling) and will go back to Sparta Praha with (hopefullly) a bid for Kadlec.

Thanks

Adzii {Ed002's Note - A good rumour at last.}

Kadlec is not a hot prospect anymore. Wasted talent, nothing more...

Never heard of Kadlec - what position does he play and why should we buy him? {Ed016's Note - Well since he is over hyped I am guessing CAM or Winger....}

Kadlec is a young czech striker who was considered a great talent after he scored 18 goals in 26 games for Czech U17.

He is nearly 20 now, and has been doing very poorly this season, only 3 goals in 16 games, in a poor league.

18 Jan 2012 16:54:17
Ed has there been any real rumours about cavani {Ed002's Note - No. Cavani will not be joining Liverpool.}

No offence ed but how do you know?? if you can please explain how you know for sure that it isnt gunna happen....not saying u dont know jus asking how u know.. {Ed016's Note - It isnt going to happen}

torres to come back to anfield for 30m

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ! Oh? and ha

Crap rumour, next!!

He said the owners lied to him. Would you come back under those circumstances? Anyway, we need to move on and look at other strikers IF there is money available, and there is certainly not enough to buy the players that dreamers on this site have been talking about

Ha ...... no he's not. That made me laugh.

Danny

Were missing a natural goalscorer and he is defiantly without doubt that missing player, however i very much doubt we will bring him back while Kenny's in charge.

BigD

How soon people forget how brilliant he was - with Gerrard pinging the passes.Heads get turned when there is £50m at stake.Now in the cold light of day - we should make every effort .I predict the ground would go berserk when runs on the pitch for the first time.And the odds on scoring within minutes? Pretty short.

If that is true then you will like this one
Dalglish to come back as a striker for LFC

My god... let it go!! its never going to happen

Come on Eds, thought you were going to block any more of this Torres nonsense?

Keith {Ed002's Note - I can block you if you want for mentioning the T word?}

Did you notice mate that the only comment an Ed made was about blocking you for coming back again with the crazy Torres story.He's gone and won't be back so move on and get over it!

If Torres had never left we'd have been challenging for the title now not chasing fourth. But he did leave. So f*** him.

Hugh Pugh.

Not this sh!t again.

defoe heading to liverpool in swap deal for agger.scott dann to replace agger at liverpool.

What a terrible deal that would be. You're crazy.

Why would we lose Agger he is by far our best defender and since he came into the team we have a far better defensive record

Why would we swap our best defender with our rivals for so we can get a mediocre centre back to replace him. Plus Defoe may score goals but he is not what FSG are about so stop the stupid rumours

Agger is world class (when injury-free) Defoe is a overrated southern dandy!

What rubbish.

Not a chance sunshine

Aggers our best defender so this is a load of bull

LMAO thank you ..proper good laugh that !

get rid of one of our best defenders for DEFOE !!

Mr Slonk The Red

YNWA

Erm........ no he's not. Wow some of these rumours make my head hurt.

Danny

Ags is too good for Blackburn

Who ever posted this rumour needs there head testing.

BigD

Hope not... that would be the biggest mistake ever made.... Like mourinho have said, Agger is one of the best CB in the world. and i agree. he is over the injurys. i will hate hate him if he sell. not defoe, he is too old... 20m... biiiig joke.

What a deal and then when that's completed we can swap reina for gomes and stevie g for jenas and finally suarez for pavlechenko!!

Defoe's around three years older than Agger and we'd still have to pay for Scott Dann and from what I've seen of him on T.V. Agger's 3 times the player Dann is.

What an imagination such a creative mind brilliant!

Worst rumour, ever IMO. Not good enough to be called a joke. :)

18 Jan 2012 16:37:26
hey eds plz can u tel me are lvrpul intrsted in any of one world class striker..lyk cavani,tevez or pato..we need one of them badly otherwise we are really going to struggle wd the lyks of chelsea..and any news on sow or cavani? can any one of them join us? {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in Cavani and he will not be koining. Sow was certainly looked at but there has been no offer from Liverpool.}

18 Jan 2012 16:30:34
stop posting rumours about cavani ! ed must be annoyed answering the same quistion ! we are not getting cavani end off !

I heard we're getting him {Ed002's Note - Nailed on.}

The Eds could just stop posting them?

Kuyt heading back to the Netherlands in a swap deal for a certain striker in the dutch league...also Kenny having trouble moving Maxi on trying to free up wages for a winger...McGeady is a defo target wont come cheap 20 mill 80k per week

Mcgeady is not worth anything over £12m but id be happy if he arrived

McGeady? No one up here north of the border thinks he's any good!

Why would we want another left winger?We already have one that doesnt play on the left.If anything we need a right winger that CAN cross.

There's probably a minority of people that would have him (i would) but for £20m I don't bloody think so

Im irish he is not worth 10c

Im from ireland so have a big interest in all irish players. I can tell u now that i wouldnt take mcgeady on a free never mind 20mill. Every irish fan would rather stephen hunt off wolves play ahead of him for ireland. He is simply terrible.
Jayo

McGeady is pants & dats comin frm an Irish Red! 'headless chicken' is too good a word for him, he'd only bring down the level of ex-Irish players to grace d Liverbird... so pls nooooooooooo @ any price

I'm from Scotland (same place as MceEady) and he's not good enough. If you lot think that Downing's final ball is occassionally poor, then you should see this boy. He's way over-rated. And at £20m, no chance.

If you reckon McGeady's worth £20 mill then I've got a beat up old banger parked outside my house and I'm sure you'll give me 5 grand for it!

McGeady is that bad I would rather have El Zhar or even Jimmy Carter back.

McGeady is a show pony who isn't even worth 20p. I hope we don't sign him.

These all true eds?

1) Are we following Scott Dann

2) Ghana U20 midfielder Mumuni Abubakar is hopeful of securing a move to Liverpool, following a recent trial at Anfield.

3) Liverpool have not given up hope of landing Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe after he reiterated he wants regular first-team football.

4) Fenerbahce are set to wrap up a £10million deal for Arsenal and Liverpool target Moussa Sow, just days after the exciting Lille striker reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League.

5) Liverpool have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon, close to £1m, to sign Joao Carlos, one of the most talented young players from the academy that has developed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Nani.

1,2 & 5 yes
3 & 4 no

Scott Dann not a chance! We have Skrtel, Agger, Carra, Coates and Kelly not to mention our youth players Wisdom et al.

Ghana U20 Midfielder is nailed on according to my sources.

Defoe doubtful as he goes against FSG transfer policy of signing young and with a re-sale value.

Sow is a possibilty but looking more and more unlikely at the moment.

Carlos will be having his medical tomorrow and will go straight into Rodolfo's squad.

JC

Kenny u idiot! why have u not signed sow is it because hes not scottish {Ed016's Note - No because he is going to Fenerbache, maybe Sow Isn't good enough in his eyes}

Why would we want Scott damn? We didn't get him when he was available on the summer so why get him now when he both injured and not on form?

18 Jan 2012 16:19:30

18 Jan 2012 16:17:39
Hopefully we sign David Texeira Torres. We can give him no nine & then we can all get our old shirts out again

Texeira is on his shirt. {Ed002's Note - Not spelt like that I guess.}

If you're gonna sign another no.9 Torres, wouldn't you rather that it was Fernando. Or rather, Fernando Llorente ? He's way better than Teixeira.

Anything is better than having BENT on the back of your shirt!

is there any truth at all in this kuyt + big money move for Cavani, cant see it myself but its all over the net in the last few hours?? {Ed002's Note - No it is not true. Cavani will not be moving to Liverpool.}

It's true that it's a rumour, good source {Ed002's Note - Better than me? Surely not.}

How do you know ed2000 your in the same boat as us in that you only speculate otherwise it wouldnt be a rumour site'if you read every moronic reply you give i.e dont know 'please read previous posts 'wont be happening are you a robot or something'sorry that would be offensive to robots

liverpool to complete the signing of bent b4 the transfer window shuts

18 Jan 2012 15:40:46
bring back Aqaulini the player is class been watching him {Ed002's Note - He will not be coming back.}

I agree with you 110% mate his class but eds right got no chance rafa mucked it up in his first season so aquallini wants to stay in Italy so his got a chance in the itailan squad!

Aquaman will not return

Totally agree, what kind of business is sending a £20mill player on loan!? Doesn't make sense especially when he's got more quality than all of our midfield apart from Stevie

Sparko82 YNWA. {Ed002's Note - He will only be a £5M player when the money comes in.}

He's just gone out injured again he'll be lucky to complete the 25 games we need for them to have to buy him {Ed002's Note - He missed one game - hardly a crisis yet. If he does not play any mores at all Liverpool will strike a deal to simply release him for no cost at the end of the season in any case.}

If he is contracted to us and the club want him then he should play. If he's willing to rot on the bench for the remainder of his contract to spite is then do be it. Why does Aquilani hold all the power? If he didn't want to play in England then why did he sign the contract?! I'm annoyed that we will lose close to £15m on a player because he doesn't want to play for us and other clubs (in Italy) therefore think they can get him at a massively reduced rate.

He missed one game - hardly a crisis yet. If he does not play any mores at all Liverpool will strike a deal to simply release him for no cost at the end of the season in any case.

Lmao, in no way will LFC make Aquilani go without getting some money in it, heck even if i means they get 1 penny for him!!.
Now this is dreadful wishful thinking but if Aquilani was to use his brain abit here, he would know that he is still injury prone whether he plays in Italy, Spain, England or even Iceland(if it ever had a league). Secondly, i feel he is kinda feeling abit Podolski like in the fact that he thinks he will lose his international place in the Italy team same way Poldi thinks about Germany International team. That for me is just lame, especially when u consider how many players play away from their country yet feature in their National teams week in and week out whenever their countries play(they miss out only because either they have some injury or the manager has decided to rest them). Look at David Silva and Mesut Ozil, both players play in different countries to their home country but are regular starters barring the two conditions i gave.
Infact to me, both of them have flourished even more by joining a new league. Its the same reason the "fat" Ronaldo is trying to tell Santos to allow Neymar and Ganso leave for Europe because he knows how great they will become. Aquilani hands down is better than all the midfielders we have bar Gerrard, but if he had some logical thinking he would man up and quit yapping about being uncomfortable in EPL. #Thats life man, toughen up!!.

Rafa didnt muck nothing up, he said himself he wanted to play in Italy and only moved to Liverpool to easy the finances at Roma. {Ed016's Note - Didn't he come from Madrid?}

Lfc will be talking a 20 million hit on aqua why because we are mugs move on

He is a quality player, showed some real class in the summer during friendlys great vision and defense splitting passes, the kind of passes suarez/ bellemy/ downing are craving. Only problem is I don't think he has the bottle to fight it out in tough games (such as stoke away etc). Saying that I don't think he was ever provided a real chance to prove himself. I for one would have loved to see him start the season with us then be loaned out should he not perform. Something like this would have worked well.

Reina

Johnson Skrtle Agger Enrique

Lucas

Bellemy/Maxi Aquilani Downing

Suarez Carroll

Eds any chance of creating a new page for who we Liverpool fans most want to see at the club, i read th other day that someone associated with the club look at a lot of these Liverpool sites. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool transfer policy will not adapt to buy those the fans most want to see at the club.}

Eds any chance of creating for twitter rumours? i notice how incredibly accurate they are. It will be great if you can, they we all know where to go to find out who's coming into the club. Thanks from the Twitter fans.

What i was trying to say is Barcelona have something, the player the fans most want to see, any chance we caould do something similar {Ed002's Note - Most seemingly just want Torres back. There are already plenty of pages.}

What's the saying tho the customers are always right, we are the customers going too watch it's our money they spend when we pay for our tickets surely we should get a say!

Stupid saying as the customer is not always right.

Wouldnt be a bad transfer policy. That way we could never blame the manager or comoli etc

Ed002's Note - Liverpool transfer policy will not adapt to buy those the fans most want to see at the club.

Actually which policy do we have ? British talent so far we know that flop policy. and rather then that ?

18 Jan 2012 15:15:05
Ed just a thought about tevez, after we play city in the semi we wont play them again this season. We will however be playing utd and Spurs in the league, the only 2 teams with a real chance of stopping them winning the league. Now would a loan deal till the end of the season where we pay a percentage of his wages like they did with Bellamy at cardiff not benefit all. City save a bit of cash and put him in the window again, we get a world class forward to give us a boost, and Tevez gets to prove he's no trouble whilst his agent tries to get him another big money move. It would be a shock and a gamble but if he behaved for 6 months (he usually does at first) it could be a good shor term fix.
RNred {Ed002's Note - City want to sell Tevez and get rid of him completely. They do not want to be paying any of his wages. A loan is a last resort and whatever happens I do not see Liverpool being in the equation at all. Sorry.}

Thats just stupid.

Nice idea,but it's only your idea of heaven!

It's really not that stupid, I'm not sure if I like the idea or not though:

Pro's
*Would get up Fergies nose something shocking
*Any opportunity to get one over on wheeler dealer Redknapp would also be great (let's not forget city loaned Adebayor to them)
*Won't cost much
*No hassle, he will definitely leave at the seasons end
* Good player
*No risk, we can send him back and he's probably looking to impress other clubs on and off the field

Cons
*Don't really like the idea of city loaning out top quality strikers, it's a whole new level of buying the league
*He is an ass that is never done mouthing off in the papers
*Might annoy other players
*He's ugly
*He's a 2 time manc reject

I think the pro's have it. You never know, it's a shot to nothing - why not.

You know this actually makes good sense !! But cant see it happening

Not the worst idea,he could score against either of those teams and take a couple of points off em.i ring kenny in a bit,just having me tea at the mo.

Eds, any news on Shaquille Hunter from Bristol Rovers? I heard we were interested?
I know he's only 16, which doesn't help us right now, but I've got a friend at Bristol Rovers who says this kid has a big future

Is the bid accepted for Cavani true?

Ceej {Ed002's Note - No.}

18 Jan 2012 15:09:43
Eds, can you confirm whether correct or not, the news has leaked out that napoli have accepted a fee from LFC for cavani?? {Ed002's Note -No, it is BS.}

This was a twitter rumour to get kevin williams petition signed still 40k to go plz sign !!!!

18 Jan 2012 15:06:04
Hi Eds, if this young lad from sporting were to join us, do you see him being in the first team squad or not {Ed002's Note - I would have thought not immediately.}

18 Jan 2012 14:59:13
apparently liverpool have had a bid accepted for Cavani of Napoli. it was posted on jim Boardmans twitter page.
{Ed002's Note - Please stop the BS about Cavani - he will not be moving to Liverpool. The petition has had plenty of coverage here already and now we are having to deal with complaints about it.}

If only this were true...tbh i think this is Aguero and Juan Mata all over again.

Sorry ed i never checked the link!

Your getting complaints about the Petition? From LFC fans?
Disgusting.. anyone complaining should be ashamed of themselves and isnt a true member of the LFC Family .. a family doesnt walk alone!
ItsNotRocketScience

It was a hoax!! he said it to get people to sign the petition!! ugh, some people are so stupid.

Why would he join us ? Napoli are way better. Plus we only pay big money on average players like downing, henderson, caroll

liverpool are eyeing Ghan u-20 midfielder Abubakar Mumuni. The 18-year old has been on 2 week long trials. He was also voted best player of the Ghana pl by the Ghana sports writers association

18 Jan 2012 14:48:53
Just a thought ed's did groballar get the wrong Texteria when giving his info the other day? Personally from the few clip of David texteria from uraguay that plays in Holland that I have seen he looks a very quick able to use both feet and head goals kinda player , any more info on the chances of signing him ?? Thanks ed's great job been done by all , your head's must be wrecked by now ha {Ed002's Note - That was my position but who knows.}

Tim Vickery, South American football oracle, says it's all over the Uruguayan media that David Tex to Liverpool is a done deal.

18 Jan 2012 14:38:45
I reckon David Texeira would be a brilliant signing this window. Young, done well for Groningen and isn't too bad when it comes to finishing. What do you reckon the chances of us signing him would be?

We already signed one Texeira.. What would be the chances of us signing two in one window ?

He will go straight into the reserves and we wont see him in the first team for a long time just like Sterling, Coady, Morgan and Suso and many others...

JJ LFC

any chance of tevez coming to liverpool ? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Ed, any chance you can delete these posts like the Torres ones, so many idiots out there

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon, close to £1m, to sign one of the most talented young players from the academy that has developed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Nani.

Joao Carlos, 19, is moving to Anfield after coming to the attention of the Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, during a scoring performance in the NextGen series of youth-team matches earlier this season.

The teenager has been talked about in Portugal as being similar to a young Deco but Sporting have financial issues and have decided to accept Liverpool's offer in keeping with their usual policy of nurturing young players and then selling them for profit.

Carlos has trained with Sporting's first team this season, but has not made his senior debut.

Source: The Guardian

Great news for the future but what about next Saturday when we still can't score come on kenny get a grip

If he that good why is he yet to make his first team debut at 19?

The reason for him not making his debut in the first team is becuase the club have jus spent 40million in the summer.... and basically the owners are picking the team {Ed016's Note - agreed, they have a brilliant academy. In the top 3 with Barca, Pool and Sporting Lisbon}

liverpool have completed the signing of sporting lisbon prospect joao carlos texteira, a player who manager kd noticed in the nextgen competition. The 19-year old has already scored at the kop in a 3-0 win of sporting lisbon against liverpool

Awesome news! Now please tell me -is he the one that will score the goals we need so badly RIGHT NOW? No

I think I'll wait till it's on the LFC site before getting excited

If he has signed, will he be cup tied for the NextGen series like in other competitions?

Keith

Signed on Segura's recommendation, apparently.

whoever posted a comment " fletcher - lol " ...atleast the option is viable and realistic and he is proven in the prem. I could have spouted Tevez, Messi, Iniesta but they would be dream buys! When we spend 20m on downing and 18/20 on henderson im sure a £4.50 and twxc for fletcher would be reasonable ;-)

easy d

For me personally, I agree with you. Fletcher is not a "star", but he does poach the occasional goal, has a good work rate, would seemingly love to be here, and is relatively young and cheap.

I wouldn't want to dismiss Fletcher completely but I don't think he's good enough. The reason being is that certain players eg. Downing,Henderson,Adam,Carroll and Flether can can look good players when they turn out for the likes Blackpool,Wolves,Villa etc.. but put them in a team with Gerrard, Suarez and Lucas and then expect them to compete on an equal level with Man Utd, Chelsea etc... they fall short. Fletcher, Dann, Jarvis, Hoilett, Sinclair all fall into this bracket. I don't know where Kenny should look but British based players are expensive.

How about that lad from Huddersfield. Worth a shot

How is fletcher proven in the prem? is that you fletch head off will ya pal. hes had 6 half decent months
DCG

Looks slightly pricey to me. If it were only half a Reid however, then maybe some sort of arrangement could be reached...

Liverpool agree £1m deal to sign Sporting Lisbon teenager João Carlos

Yeh big deal he wont be for the first team

That's the spirit! why should we bother signing talented youngsters?

Haven't seen him play, but if he gets a regular start in the apparently ultra-talented sporting lisbon youth team, he can't be that bad!

If Carlos Tevez is available for 25 mil, why isnt Kenny thinking about putting in a bid? Henderson and Downing cost around 20 mil! Tevez is a world class player who would love to stick it up the mancs! Can anyone see this happening, even tho its a risk with wages and temperment. A move like that for Tevez could get his career back on track! Plus a Tevez Suarez partnership could be deadly!

Stop this crap now, tevez does NOT want to stay in england, get over it

Mate are you for real? 1) wages alone will be in region of around £150-£200k p/w & 2) although a great player his attitude and trouble he brings to clubs are pathetic. and a final note, his loyalty to clubs is shocking. treats clubs like a pair of unwated undies

Tdogg77

A) his wages are $200k a week, b) he doesn't want to play in England c) he'll probably refuse to go on the pitch if he wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.

So basically aside from the minor points that we can't afford him and he doesn't want to play for us it's a complete mystery why we havent bid....

Rob s

Have u lost the plot completely? waste 25 mill on tevez so he can throw a strop an refuse to play or jet off home without permission when ever the mood takes him no thanks! Their are plenty of decent strikers about, we need someone who wears the shirt with pride not a mercenary like tevez.

Are you totally thick? "Tevez would love to stick it to the Mancs!" Tevez has stuck it to every club he's ever played for.His talent is well outweighed by his lack of loyalty to anything other than his bank account and we don't need to sign trouble like him!

Thank you finally some one who makes sense {Ed001's Note - seems to have forgotten that his wages would be about £6m until the end of the season alone. Sense? None. Some of you 'fans' are so embarrassingly out of your minds it is scary. Don't any of you have any kind of business sense at all? Liverpool is losing money, they can't afford to pay Tevez 225k a week, even if the muppet would be willing to prostitute himself to us.}

Why would you want this? He will commend a wage in excess of £150k a week and dissapears to Argentina for the slightest thing, not to mention his attitude. Let him go to some other club and bleed their wage fund dry!

If ur gonna pay his wages ,give him a piggyback to argentina every other week,put his dummy back in his mouth everytime he spits it out then lets do it!!

Would be a dream come true pure class but me thinks it wont happen he isnt the type of player lfc go for think we are looking at fletcher though

His wages would be a stumbling block

Why on earth would any prem team even dream of signing Carlos (baggage!!) Tevez.... if he can't be happy at the two top teams in the country how do you think he'd cope playing for an also-ran (cos lets face it we are) like us.

Because Tevez's wages are more than Henderson, Downing and Carroll combined.

Tevez wages would be Silly amount of money

Seriously mate after the great names that have graced Anfield ie Shankly, Paisley, the king and all. Would you want this guy running round in a Liverpool shirt. Na thought not.

Get a grip,we want sportsmen not babys.

Until he decides he wants to move away and just doesn't turn up for two months.

He's unbelievably talented, no doubt, but any club that signs him is daft. it goes to show a player has more power than the club and a contract isn't worth Jack anymore.

It's a joke to call him a professional.

And his wages would be huge, making him a much more expensive signing than Downing or Hendo.

AARRRRRRGGGHHH!!!! I think this may the most frustrating window in ages. Not because of the activity coming from LFC but the whiney little fantasists who can't see the current situation we are in. NO EUROPEAN FOOTBALL. SENSIBLE OWNERS who will not pay extortionate wages, and nor should they, for mercurial players who have no real interest in anything but money. We are moving in the right direction and these things take time time. Now get behind the team and STFU !!!
Rant over!!

Do you think Tevez is a commodity you anyone can buy with 25 mills..? Do you even think before writing or are you plain stupid..? Inter Milan and Liverpool are at different levels right now. Anyone would prefer Inter over Liverpool..!

Just a thought... Liverpool is slightly closer to Argentina than Manchester is!

18 Jan 2012 13:35:47
I dnt see why we are signing more youngsters wen we have plenty , sterlin jonjo suso morgan flano Robinson Kelly and more we need a goal scorer for now

Well Joao Carlos is possibly the best prospect in portugal at the moment... I'm made up

Very few youngsters make the grade to being first team. For every 100 in, you might get 1 star out at the end. That's why we buy so many. They are however a good investment. Even if they don't make the grade, they are still good enough for most Championship sides because of the coaching they have had - so they have sell-on value. RED LENIN

Because we also need creativity for when teams come and park the bus otherwise the strikers we sign would be ineffective anyway.

I want it now I want it now you sound like a baby

We also have to plan for the future

Cork:Red

18 Jan 2012 13:33:35
It's up to the club who they sign and if they sign anyone. There's players we'd all like to see in a Liverpool shirt but at the end of the day it's not up to us. Let's just wait and see what happens and hopefully we'll get a nice surprise

What? It's not up to us!? Well thats all my January planning down the drain.

Well I guess it is up to us if we play FIFA like

18 Jan 2012 13:30:35
Sunderland scouts have been keeping a close eye on Dirk Kuyt and are expected to put in a bid soon. The deal could see Sunderlands Sessegnon coming to Anfield!

Doubt that but would not be a bad thing.Maybe KD could teach Sess. to pass :-)

Go dirk go. Leave!!

18 Jan 2012 13:16:05
Yo Eds - any chance of Forlan coming to Liverpool. I know he's old and had strife in the Premier League before but him and Suarez up front would do a job for sure in the rest of the season and possibly therefore help with transfers in the summer as we'd do better in the league. Wouldn't cost that much would he? {Ed002's Note - I don't expect him to arrive.}

18 Jan 2012 13:06:53
Eds, I am hearing that Liverpool have aggreed a deal for Joao Carlos Teixeira from sporting lisbon, is this true? {Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

Just give me the answer, yes or no. It would have taken you less time than writing read the post. {Ed002's Note - Yes, but perhaps you learned a valuable lesson. In the future I will just delete any duplicates, so you will have wasted your time. Try and think of others.}

Ed002 - How about you {Ed001's Note - or, how about you keep your nose out. Bye bye.}

18 jan 2012 12:40:02
moussa sow to fernabache 100% unless liverpool could match their bid of 8 million pounds-what you waiting for kenny!!!

I believe he's waitng to find a better striker - Sow can be useful addition, but it wouldn't be fatal if we do not get him.

Drigan

If lfc can't even bring in a proven goalscorer whose dream is to score in front of the kop then i will seriously be losing some faith !! 8m is a snip for sow

8mil in jan is snip of a price and a player that wants to play for the club, all I can say is maybe the funds are not there. {Ed002's Note - Or maybe the interest is not there?}

Maybe the interest in challenging for anything more than 7th isn't there

He is not good enourgh.

Would definitely have improved our team in my opinion.If we do not get a good striker this window I will begin to seriously doubt the ambition of the club and possibly the ability of the management team. However, surely they have something up their sleeve.

KD u gotta be kiding me

Sow only had one prolific season in a league where Joe Cole is scoring, even chipping in with a hat trick, which gives some insight into the weakness of the league.

I understand the reservations in buying Sow, why not ask the agent of Sow to include a minimum fee with Fenerbache of around £12.5 million, just incase of future interest. Just a thought, if the player is genuine in his intention of one day playing for Liverpool, in front of the Kop.

I remember when this site was a useful place to trade what scant information we had and bounce feesable ideas off each other. Been coming here for years yet now just seems to full of little toe-rags demanding certain players and questioning KD. How dare you, why don't you get on with your job, (or homework), and let the King get on with his. !!!

^
oh shut up,everybody can see that we need a striker,we played kuyt upfront last week for gods sake,is that so bad that people want to see us buy a good striker,i dont like people acting as if all the fans are ignorant idiots who want us to buy cavani or tevez,nothing wrong in suggesting somebody

Suggesting a player is one thing, suggesting him repeatedly and constantly slanting the manager and the players currently in the squad is altogether different.
I stand firmly behind KK and will admit that Sow is a good player only if the management deems so!

Drigan

Kenny waiting sow get a British passport :) {Ed016's Note - To all the posts above. Yes we need a striker but why are you all so impatient? You guys know that this has been a quiet transfer window, Europe is in a massive economic crisis, it is only the 18th, wouldn't you rather wait for talent than make rushed decisions in the window, are you going to be supporting liverpool when you are 75? If so then why are you all in such a rush to see instant success? that was never what was going to happen, thank god, I would hate to win the leauge the way that city has, it would be an empty victory}

Better now than never ed

Hope we don't lose out on a decent prospect. The month of Jan is moving along, and still no new acquisitions to bolster our chances of Champs League, and improve our very poor strike rate. {Ed016's Note - I agree we need a striker, we may have just got a gem from lisbon, maybe kenny will play youth more}

^
but they are not the only two options.
in fact they are the two least likely options.
have a little patience

x

I think he is a great player and it is probably the right time to get a striker because of the stupid 8 match ban that suarez has recieved. :-(

18 Jan 2012 12:26:39
is it possible that the teixeira we were looking at is the 19 year old one from sporting lisbon? few reports today {Ed002's Note - Please se responses to other posts.}

Maybe the other striker we were looking at, but one of them was a south american from dutch league, so he could be the apparent other one we were looking at {Ed002's Note - Based on what Bruce Grobbelaar was saying you mean?}

18 Jan 2012 12:26:21
Just read that Liverpool are close to signing Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon, anybody who saw him in the NextGen will agree he looks a good little player, any info on if this is true eds? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have actually shown an interest in Teixeira but it was a couple of months back. Whether or not he is about to sign I cannot help with, but I will attempt to find out. I can't see him being up to first team level at this time so I don't see this as being that big a deal right now.}

Every body raves on about how gd suso is and how he should be given a chance. Dnt get me twrong i rate him highly and also think he should be in the first team. But Texiera is on par wiv suso and possibly better. He was the stand out player on the pitch in the NEXT GEN game v Liverpool. The only reason for him not getting in the sporting team is cos they have jus revamped there squad spending 40m in the summer. And the president is basically selecting the team

Suso should be nowhere near the first team. Not ready, talented but fades in and out of games to often

18 Jan 2012 12:21:38
i hear that we are making an offer for Peter Odemwingie, it would make a lot of sense he is pacey scores goals and would be a great addition to the strike force up front. got this off the radio is it true.

And west brom dont use him at all, because he is in bad shape... last season good, this season not... not too any help...

We would never want peter odemwingle he is not liverpools quality

He's thirty and scored 5 goals in 20 games so why the hell would we want to sign him?

One season wonder,just like Hernandez.

18 Jan 2012 11:56:03
Just read on Record (Portuguese daily sports paper), that we are about to sign Joao Carlos from Sporting Lisbon. I dont know much about him... do you Eds ? {Ed002's Note - I think you mean Joao Teixeira - a different Teixeira to the one in the Netherlands the fans have gotten all orgasmic about over the past few days. Liverpool have actually shown an interest in Sporting's Teixeira but it was a couple of months back and it would be at the Academy/Reserves level. Whether or not he is about to sign I cannot help with, but I will attempt to find out. I can't see him being up to first team level at this time, so I don't see this as being that big a deal right now.}

18 Jan 2012 11:42:42
Before the Club accept Suarez ban they have no plan for a striker? we are suffer in front of goal and its surprise to see we not plan for anyone yet. Carroll not performing Suarez band Kuyt never been a striker Bellamy can't play 2 match a week. I don't know why management so quit. when will we bring a Striker after Suarez return from ban ?

R-R {Ed002's Note - Suarez being banned was never going to impact transfer policy at Liverpool.}

But 8 match who do cover us up ? we missing a good striker from start of the season, and after Suarez missing 8 match we not plan yet to cover him then how we want to be no 4 ? {Ed002's Note - I guess the managment team did not think that Liverpool were missing a "good striker" from the start of the season. They did their shopping and rebuilding over the last two windows. There is no way that the club is in the position just to buy a striker to cover the few weeks of Suarez' ban. The club has a squad and should be using it.}

This has to be the worst piece of writing I've ever seen. {Ed002's Note - To be fair English is not his first language and perhaps you could be a little more tolerant.}

This has to be the worst piece of writing I've ever seen. ( SO FAR 8 PEOPLE AGREED AND 8 DISAGREED SO PEOPLE WANT A FAST BACK UP) {Ed002's Note - To be fair English is not his first language. (ENGLISH NOT EVEN MY 2ND LANGUAGE) THANKS TO ED FOR UNDERSTANDING .

18 Jan 2012 11:45:58
Hi ED'S, I have recently replied to some posts and also done some of my own which I have not seen,so could you tell me if you have banned me and if so why as I don't think I have done anything wrong

Alan50 {Ed002's Note - Using the Search function I can see plenty of posts with Alan50 signed, so they are being posted OK.}

I have this same problem.. when i search for my posts it only shows limited amount.. Which is why I also thought id been banned earlier in the year.
I just post replys now and dont worry about anyone replying to me as i can never find the post again anyway.
ItsNotRocketScience {Ed002's Note - It turns out he did not have a problem at all.}

18 Jan 2012 11:42:21
I don't get it - which part of Kenny saying hes happy with the squad don't you understand?
WE ARE NOT SIGNING ANYONE!

Gazman

Kenny is hardly gonna come out and say his squad is rubbish is he? In my opinion we are in 7th place because thats about where we should be. The team isnt good enough with the players we have.

Steve

Yes but let us dream please
J-lk

Its Kenny were talkin about here, not Harry Redknapp, he keeps his cards very close to his chest and reveals nothing, he's saying that but how can he be happy with the squad? We can't score, even when Suarez is playin!
Muller

Kenny may be not given fund as he is under pressure from few sign.

Kenny was happy to talk about transfers in the summer, so don't know why people keep saying he keeps his cards close to the chest..in a way, I'd us sign no one, play on his arrogance, see where we finish in the league, then consequences be dealt with accordingly..

Haha Muller, Kenny and Harry complete opposites on the wheeler dealer scale.

Kenny - "I cannae see us signin anyone"
Harry - "Yeaa Demba Ba, triffic playa, I eard I could ave im for 5million"

Was that on saturday after we scored 24 goals in 21 league games and he said not good enough not clinical enough we have to do better hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm.
dcg

I never said we DON'T NEED to sign anyone - I would wait until summer as I feel 4th spot has gone already - Kenny said he is happy so that's enough for me. I can't believe some of the unproven crap players being touted on here either - I you are going to dream then at least dream big!

Here is my plan - wait til summer - make sure we don't get into Europa league - then offload kuyt and possibly aurellio. Then sign a winger. Play caroll in every game from now until the end of the season - he has to no that he will be picked if he has an off day - that's the key. Win the fa cup, win the league cup then build from there. The winger I'd sign in summer is Adam Johnson. In the meantime - blood the youth - stick Suso in ahead of kuyt - let Coady play at home. Let flannigan play. Lets look to the future.. I think they will pleasantly surprise us.

Just please stop harping on about 2nd rate strikers who can't hack it in there own countries!!!'

Gazman
Gazman

Kenny is exactly going to come out and say our team is crap and I'm going to buy Moussa Sow, Texeira and so on. That would just drive prices up- think man!

I'm happy with the choice of clothes in my cupboard. Doesn't mean I won't buy some new ones!

We ain't gonna buy any of those players - man

Gazman

And of course you are on the rumors page doing because you know we aint buying players

If you really believe we're not signing anyone why would you waste your time coming on a rumours site when YOU KNOW every single one has no truth in it?? Too much time on your hands..

Rob s

Gazman u wolly, we win the F.A cup & League cup this seaon and we will be in europe so you cant have it both ways now can you, think before speaking hey
tdogg77

Liverpool always do their business behind closed doors. Only people who know we are going to sign or not sign is the hierarchy at Liverpool. I take everything I read on here with a pinch of salt. But we all like to dream. Now if you don't mind we'd all like to do that!

Eh? Alan Pardew came out and was adamant that he wouldn't be signing anyone - tell me who he signed yesterday again?

YOu wanna put a tenner on it lad? I say we make at least one signing

Someone won a tenner then didn't they?

18 Jan 2012 11:32:20
why dont liverpool go for daniel sturridge ? young english and is the top goal scorer at chelsea , i think he would suit liverpool

And why on earth would Chelsea sell?

Kieran.

Why would Chelsea let him go? Drogba is old, Torres is firing blanks and Anelka has left. So why sell their only regular goal scorer? We have as much chance of signing Rooney as Sturridge.

Maybe because chelsea wont sell

Chavsky wouldnt sell

Think about it, why would Chelsea sell their best striker to a rival club? I'd lovwe it to happen as muchas anyone, but the reality is it never will. Joe

Chelsea will no doubt be delighted to sell a top quality, young attacker to us. Numpty.

Why dont they also go for Messi or Ronaldo?

We cant get Sturridge because hes one of few Cheslsea players that has actually played well this season. Think he is one of the last players Chelsea would like to sell.

Why would liverpool sell torres too a rival club ? money money money , if we offer good money for him they will think about it !

Dont know about you guys but it would have been a good idea to have asked for Daniel when they were after Merieles...anybody agree? {Ed002's Note - It would not have changed anything.}

How dense are you? Last transfer window I kept posting here to tell dopes like you we couldn't buy Sturridge because Chelsea had clearly said he's not for sale.I'd like to date a Hollywood leading lady but it ain't gonna happen anymore than we're gonna sign Sturridge!

How is Liverpool going to sell their best player, Torres, to Chelsea, that would be stupid......oh wait

Apparently we could have took him when the Torres deal was being pushed through last year. Took the money instead and gave it all to Newcatle for Carroll. Isn't hindsight(or good scouting) a wonderful thing.

David {Ed001's Note - we could not have had him, Chelsea refused to consider him in any deal at all.}

I heard differently, but I hope your info is better than mine ED001, because at least this will give me some comfort regarding future scouting/transfers. 35m for Carroll! imagine if we had that in the bank now, as opposed to Andy sat on the bench. Nice fella, will always give 100% but please, 35m! WTF happened last January in the last few hours of the transfer window! Commoli and Dalglish have a lot to answer for. That chav lottery winner didn't spend his money that quick. Liverpool a bit skint now? didn't have to be like this.

David

Chelsea were so deaperate to give Roman his trophy signing, that they ended up paying 50m up front for Torres, which is virtually unheard of, if we really wanted Sturridge as part of that deal we could've got him. He was on loan at Bolton and hardly the instant global superstar that Abramovich craved. We should have taken advatage of his narcissism and lack of insight and insisted on his inclusion. They wanted Torres at any cost. If we'd had said Sturridge and 35m or we're walking away, we'd have got him. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know how Abramovich works. He needed that signing, like my little girl needs her dummy.

David {Ed001's Note - no we couldn't, they had already ruled out letting Sturridge go as part of the deal. You clearly have no idea of how Chelsea work.}

I think the Ed's have been vary patient with a lot of people on here this transfer window, the constant badgering of them over the same points and names is doing my head in so god knows how they put up with it. The fact is we are unlikely to get anyone of real quality who is likely to improve our situation this window for various reasons.
A. The ACON is on and if the player is in one of the better teams or he is good enough to make a big impact there they are likely to go far in the competition meaning they are unlikely to be available until the second half of February at the earliest. This could be as much as 8 games away in which time we would have played the second leg of the semi and utd in the FA cup as well as Spurs and utd in the league. And in all honesty if we haven't improved our goal tally before that the season will probably be over.
B. With the EURO's happening the good European players do not want to risk moving and putting the international places in jeopardy.
C. A lot of the better players are still in European completion with their clubs and both parties are unlikely to want to part company till that's over.
D. We are a big risk for 4th place, Chelsea have opened up a gap they have a better goal difference and far greater spending power, so are likely to spend big this window and next.
E. We do not have the cash to out weigh any of the above.

That pretty much limits who we can realisticly expect to sign and how much value they will be to us this season. It should be remembered we paid quite a bit for Suarez last year and he came with baggage (biting an opponent) so Ajax may have decided that was good business and we paid huge money for Carroll.
Now we could look at south Americans (as mentioned by Macca) take a gamble on someone that is not a European or African international at the moment, or a gamble on someone with baggage.
But the Ed's have tried in replies for weeks at least, to explain these points and yet still people are constantly asking the same questions. Hazard and the usual suspects are not coming! Get over it.
RNred

Im interested 2 people disagree, which point exactly have I miss understood about the current situation then?
RNred

Thank you, someone with some sense in what they are saying...finally.

I completely agree with you mate, this is a breath of fresh air from the people who still think that we are going to get cavani, hazard, higuain. Look at this guys facts because they're spot on. Lets be realistic Liverpool fans

Hi Eds and fellow football fans

Fact: Liverpool F.C at the current moment do not offer European football in any form.

There are very few so called "world class players" that would move to our beautiful club.

My understanding is that there are a few
players who would move to play for the liverbird at this moment in time, considering that the ACON starts soon and then the EURO's in the summer.

With patience we will get the right player this window as well as getting our players delivering to our delight.

I personally would like to see 3 new faces,

1. Striker - goal poacher
2. RW - some one who can deliver a "calculated" cross
3. A replacement for Lucas - we need a solid first team player here (so that we can give more room to the creative players)

Dear reader's and eds, please let me know of realistic targets Liverpool can acquire in these positions.

I think :

1. Luuk de Jong
2. Nathan Dyer
3. Moussa Sissoko

Thanks peeps
YNWA-SA

P.S - Hope this transfer window and the rest of the season turns out great for us.

Lucas doesn't need replacing. He could walk into any PL team and most of the top European teams. We have enough prospects in our ranks (First team & Reserves) to cover him if he gets injured. I do agree with the poacher and RW claim though, although I would happily convert Glen to RW and put Kelly RB and give Sterling a chance to show what he can do.

Agree, would also look at leroy Fer if not Sissoko, Lucas was an attacking midfielder so the 2 could play together in the future. And for me Dyer is the one weshould be looking at from Swansea, a good right winger would give the side better balance.
RNred

Well i was talking about a replacement player to cover for Lucas.

From Guillem Balagues website:

On Esteban Granero and Liverpool

Quite a few of you have been asking me about quotes attributed to the agent of Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero which have prompted media speculation that the player could be on the verge of a move to Liverpool. However, the agent in question is no longer representing the player and should not therefore be interpreted as an official statement on behalf of Granero.

In the past two days it had been reported that Teo Lazaro – cited in reports as the player's agent - said "Granero is finding his chances limited at Real Madrid. If he can't play at Madrid, then he'll play somewhere else. It's as simple as that. He's keen for a move away - possibly to Liverpool."

This has fuelled speculation that a deal could be close. However, Teo Lazaro no longer represents Granero and, at this precise moment in time, the player has opted to stay at Madrid – but only if he feels he is getting enough playing time.

It is true that Granero has always fancied a move to Liverpool - were he to ever leave Spain for the Premier League - and was once a serious target for Rafa Benitez during his tenure at the Anfield club. However, Benitez ultimately decided not to approve the move because of the possibility that the coach could have left Liverpool to take over at Madrid. Prior to that, Granero was also the subject of a serious bid from Fulham while he was playing in the Real Madrid B team.

Granero has made a very limited number of appearances for Real Madrid this season (just 3 in La Liga), but following a recent conversation with the manager Jose Mourinho (just after Khedira picked up an injury) in which the player was told that he would get more playing time at the Bernabeu throughout the remainder of the season, Granero is leaning towards fighting for a starting place in Madrid: despite the advice of many close to him who insist that now would be the time to move. In my opinion, should Granero stay, it is unlikely that he would see a great deal more first team action than he has already and a move away in the summer is one potential outcome.

It also remains to be seen whether or not Granero does get selected for the Real Madrid first team between now and the end of January - and if he does not play at all, then it is also a possibility that he could listen to his advisors and accept a move away from the Bernabeu. At present, Liverpool have not shown a great deal of interest in the player, but other clubs have. 2

A couple of people have mentioned that Sow has agreed personal terms with Fenerbache, but I can't find it anywhere online. Can anyone shed any light on it? I know they have had a bid accepted a while back but thats all I know... {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that a bid has been made, rejected and a second bid made that should be acceptable to Lille. They have granted permission for Fenerbahce to talk to his representatives about personal terms and that is where we are right now. As I had previously explained, Moussa Sow is available and has been looked at by Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle and Lille, accepting he was to leave were keen on Luuk De Jong or Nolan Roux - who has now joined them. My understanding is that there were no firm bids made by any English side for Sow, but in theory one could still be made.}

Moussa Sow has been looked at by Lille? He plays for them mate. You're either chatting absolute sh*t or you're not aware of teams and have no right at being an editor on here. {Ed002's Note - Now read it again slowly "and Lille, accepting he was to leave were keen on Luuk De Jong or Nolan Roux". And we still manage to put up with vegetables like you.}

18 Jan 2012 11:10:23
We should be looking at some future prospects also. Probabaly Thoran Hazard. Apparently He is a better prospect at his age than Eden.

I would also like to know from Ed002, How much price should Lens command for him ? {Ed002's Note - There is no price because he is not for sale right now. It is possible he could move withing France at some point soon, but that would be a stepping stone for his career. Fewer and frewer of the "exceptional" youngsters will be moving because they know it is better to stay and play regularly at the highest level in France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Switzerland than it is to disappear in to the reserves at the more prominent teams. When he eventually comes up for sale there will be no shortage of interested clubs.}

So he is more of a Work in Progress, Nothing wrong in keeping an eye :-)

Nobody wor talking about this guy till one of the eds mentioned him a few hours ago now we need to sign him ...wot a joke

18 Jan 2012 11:08:43
People who want Adam Johnson need to learn that city need to get someone else in first. Which i don't see in this window.

Man City need to sell first before they can buy anyone!

Hmmm... Why not we give them downing + cash!!!

18 Jan 2012 11:08:04
Swansea claims liverpool have not approached or spoke to them about Scott Sinclair . Sinclair is not for sale at any cost, his an important team member and will do everything to keep him!!

And thiis should make us sad?

18 Jan 2012 11:07:49
I've got a feeling that the reason were not seeing any transfer activity is that they don't trust KK with the money so if we splash the money then kennys staying if we don't spend then he's going in the summer that's only my opinion. Cheers PK

To be honest i'm not sure its down to kenny anyway. The way liverpool deal with transfers now is that Damien Comolli looks at players and then kenny has to agree or kenny has somebody in mind and damien has to agree then they present it to the board before it goes any further. so it wouldnt be down to one man to trust anyway. michael

Haha FSG will fully back KD & DC

I agree, I think FSG, DC etc know that we simply aren't good enough for a top 4 place this year and KK proved in the summer that overpaying for average British players was not the way to go. I think FSG are thinking we get Europa league football this season, KK moves upstairs in the summer and they will bring in a new manager to give £60m + to in order to get that Top4 place.

KK is a legend but the signings of Henderson, Downing & Adam have shown that he is not a person who knows how to spend £50m

They do trust Kenny and they will spend!

This might be controversial, but remember when Kenny was in charge before? He inherited the best team in the world, pretty much, but in the years he was in charge the only really good signings he made were Barnes and Beardsley, and neither of them were cheap by the standards of the day. Moreover, both were already well established England Internationals. He's a great manager in many ways, but the transfer market has always been somewhere he's fallen short. Obviously, Comolli is there too, but I think the £35 million for Carroll was something Kenny pushed for, and I don't understand the logic, especially as he was injured at the time. We could have just waited until summer and got him for half the price. There needs to be some change in our transfer policy, because it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

What about Spackman Houghton and Aldridge,and Sutton and Shearer wernt to shabby at Blackburn,if memory serves me right.

Watch no signing's dagger's get's the bullit and rafa walk's back in in the summer

Couldn't blame them if they didn't trust him. I love Kenny, always will, but he has paid over the odds for what he bought. Results don't lie. Eighty million quid should get you better than sixth, fifth or wherever below that we might finish. What have Spurs spent? and look at the difference in the teams.

David

Carroll, Henderson and Downing have received quite alot of abuse on this site, and some of that is understandable given the expectation a big price tag brings. Of those three, only Downing could have been expected to be the 'finished product' and to be honest, he does provide an attacking threat on the wing, albeit predictably cutting in every time. If you look at how he played in previous years, he never was an out and out winger. His play has not changed, only expectation. Carroll and Henderson are for the future, and to be honest, if Henderson had come through our ranks and was starting every game like he is (minus the 20 million price tag...) then we would all be saying he is the next big star. Cut the boys some slack. They are as good as they are. Scouting should come into question, not attitudes, etc.

Adam is a good player. Maybe not a starter for Liverpool long term, but he cost 8 million, not 20. If he were backing up Stevie G next season and starting in the Carling and FA Cup, I would think we have a strong squad!

I really hope and pray we get two players in the window: L. Podolski, who can score goals and fill the left side (yes, Downing better on the right) and has real star potential, if not already realized. The second player for me would be a midfielder with pace. Granero would do (so would Aquilani but clearly that ship has sailed), but if I were Kenny and/or Commoli I would be focusing (again) on James McCarthy of Wigan, but at a realistic 10- 12 million, with promise to loan them some of our prospects.

Coop

Realistically, January transfers are typically high priced which must be why there is hesitation to buy. Then again, Chelski did get Cahill for under 10. I know Bolton haven't played well, but did Cahill suddenly become below average in 4 months?

Coop

Ok lets make some reality check as this getting frustrating. I dont blame Carroll for what he is, I blame the people who bought him for 35 mil. Nobody told them to make a stupid move in January(supposedly to help us in the 2nd half, I cant explain why the necessity to buy him in January, even though he was injured!!) and to splash 35 mil for a player who everybody in the world knew he didnt even worth 10!! I think Neymar will be cheaper! Dont start with the salary thing because the salary would have been the same even if we bought him in the summer for 15 mil! So it was a stupid mistake and we are paying for it now! Downing on the other hand has been awesome for Villa and he is playing the same style here but he is mediocre at best! What expectation has to do with this? He should start playing seriously as he plays for England or as he played with Villa. Henderson is only the standout player for me and we didnt pay 20 mil for him, we paid 12 +bonuses. And for that kind of money and seeing his potentials it was a nice move. For the rest I cant complain much but the only really good move in the summer was Enrique.

Someone with a bit of sense at last. There's quite a few 'so called' fans who should read this and take note instead of constantly bitching.

Cahill only has 6 months left on his contract - hence the low price

No Cahill didn't suddenly decome average. He did suddlenly only have about 6 months left on his contract though. 7 million isn't a great price for someone who will be free in June.

Coop - you need to realise that Henderson is one of the worst players I have ever seen in a Liverpool Jersey but due to the price tag KK feels he has to play him. I wish he did come through the ranks so we could sell him onto Doncaster for £550k and consider it a profit

MW

You say we should buy Podolski and play him on the left.Get real the problem is Downing constantly playing on the right and cutting in,which EVERY full back knows what he is going to do befor he does it.He has not provided enough service to Carroll or others.For £20m it would of been better spent on someone else(In my opinion.)
If we could get Hoilett for around £7m,which wouldnt break the bank.Proven in EPL.Fits clubs policy.He would provide pace and balance to the team,which is sadly lacking.

hi eds,i keep hearing about wot MACCA has said.what did he say exactly?
cheers {Ed002's Note - Has the Search funtion which we introduced so that you can find exactly this information broken?}

Look to the left of this post and see where it says 'Macca Rumours'. Bingo!

18 Jan 2012 10:09:44
mornin eds, there is loads of rumors flyin round and 1 thats seems that wont go away is adam johnson, personally i dont think we got a chance of signin him but what do u think? any chance? andy red {Ed002's Note - PLease use the search function or read the other posts as this has been answered many times.}

Would be good

Cant see this as he's just extended his contract at City. Said in the summer we should have signed him. He was not happy at City then.. Think the boat has sailed, but would love him at LFC :)

This rumour was dead before it started.

18 Jan 2012 08:59:57
Sounds like Sow might be off to Fenerbahce. Hope not, but even if he does sign for them, have faith in Kenny. Remember where we were this time last year with Poulson, Konchesky and Jovanovic.

Kieran.

Now we have carroll and downing ! dogshe*p on a stick.

If we do not get a decent striker in this window I will be surprised and disappointed.It will show a lack of ambition or a lack of management skills.If other clubs can get their man I am sure we can also.

We may have had them players, now spent a further 100 million and still in an around the same position.

I heard sow turned them down.

Yeah how can we forget but were not much better off league wise rafa's last season we finished 7th and nearly three seasons on still 7th were not guna get top 4 or 5th so 3 years later still exactly were we were, tottenham finished 5th last season now up there challenging for league Newcastle were relegated now up there above us

18 Jan 2012 08:58:17
ED, how likely do you think it is that we'll go in for Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen {Ed002's Note - I don't see that Swansea would look to sell at the moment so I would not hold your breath over it. If the did agree to sell, then I expect they would hold any bidder to ransom over the fee.}

18 Jan 2012 08:47:18
Hi Eds, if Lille have signed Roux, i thought we were interested/linked in summer. is our not putting in an offer for him because;

a) he was looked at in summer and is not seen as a good enugh prospect for LFC

b) we are poised to sign Sow, but that deal depended on Lille signing a replacement

c) we were never interested in Roux?

also, is Sow good enough for LFC? ive only seen Lille a couple of times, so dont know a great deal about the player!

{Ed002's Note - I rather think Roux was simply one option over the summer and Bellamy arrived instead. You are probably reading more in to Roux signing than there is.}

18 Jan 2012 08:26:07
I do not know how credible this article is but it is from KopTalk....

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti claims that Fernando Torres is on the market.

The newly-appointed PSG boss signed Torres from Liverpool while at the Bridge last January but the Spanish international has failed to settle, scoring just 3 league goals since his controversial transfer.

Representatives of the player are allegedly touting Torres around Europe and have also made it known that the player would be up for a return to Liverpool if a deal could be brokered. Although we believe the possibility has been discussed, we understand that officials at both clubs are divided on that idea and that's before considering a valuation or trying to negotiate the player's complicated contract.

Ancelotti claims that he's been offered Torres and also Fernando Llorente - a player Liverpool tried to sign last summer and who has been heavily linked with us again this window.

The former Blues boss said: "There is a lot of choice for this January market. Do you want the names? OK, now I tell you the players that agent are offering on the market, officially or not: Tevez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente."

With Chelsea losing Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for the Africa Cup of Nations, all eyes will on Torres to see if he can regain his confidence and start scoring again. Chelsea are in no rush to sell but there's a lot of chatter coming from agents and other figures, that Chelsea will start listening to offers in the summer if he continues to fail.

Liverpool's director of football Damien Comolli is a fan of Torres and is keen on the idea of bringing him back to Anfield at the right price but that view isn't shared by the manager as yet.

Sources in the Torres camp claim that the player isn't interested in a possible move to PSG

Nate - YNWA (First Contribution - Great Site EDS) {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have not offered Torres to PSG. I would be astonished if he returned to Liverpool.}

Ed002 - I know that the Chelsea Hierarchy probably would not offer Torres to another Club. Is it possible that the player himself is 'Not Happy' and pushing for a move through his agent?

To be honest, IF Torres would return to Anfield (I know the Odds are stacked against this happening) I would not complain...

Nate {Ed002's Note - As a start you need to ignore what Ancelotti said. I am sure Torres will not be happy because he knows that his performances have been well below par and I would suspect that if nothing changes by the end of the season then the two parties could part company. Torres is certainly not pushing for a move through his agent either. As for a return to Anfield I really don't see any chance of it at all. But is is clear that a very large number of fans are completely obsessed by the player filling these columns everyday with their desire for his return to Liverpool.}

Please don't use the words 'credible' & 'Koptalk' in the same sentence unless the word 'not' is in there too!

So to clarify Ed002 Torres hasn't been offered out at all, So is Ancelotti playing a game or has his word or the interpretation been distorted? {Ed002's Note - What did you make of the rest of Ancelotti's tirade then? "I have received hundreds of phone calls from agents offering me players ever since I signed with PSG," Ancelotti said. "They have offered me some incredible names. Players who have just signed spectacular contracts elsewhere. They all want to come here. There's the city of Paris, there's money and there's a coach with a good reputation. - PSG are the new Manchester City." Do you think they were really offered Cavani as well. Certainly neither Chelsea nor Sanz offered up Torres. Perhaps he read about it on Wikipedia? He was just citing examples, ignore it.}

I think we need to move on from Torres.Apart from the fact that his form was avge for the 2 seasons he was at the club, and is again avge this season.He didn't want to be at our club anymore, he insulted all involve in the club and all that support the club.

18 Jan 2012 08:18:59
are we interested in thorgan hazard {Ed002's Note - If he becomes available then many clubs would be interested. Perhaps a year or two.}

Eds spoke highly of Thorgan Hazard to an extent that if he's available he'll be picked ahead of Eden hazard ...why such interest eds? {Ed002's Note - He was explaining that he thinks the kid is a very good prospect. But for now he is not an option.}

18 Jan 2012 07:44:26
lets give andy carroll another season and lets reimprove our squad by signing guys wid good service for him and the team. i would honestly want to sign the following players:

1. esteban granero a definate yes, we dont have the best of attacking midfielders and he might be a goal scorer
2. defoe: over priced
3. bent: not in million years to come for more then 20m
4. coutinho: hes young but would want him in the squad he for sure will be better the downing
5. Texeria: i got the gut feelings that he has already signed
6.Sow : i dont think he would do better here
7. luic costagnis: we should sign him as well
8. podolski: expensive but he can make a diffference i dont think he gets good service at koln

REDBED

I agree with all you say.... Moussa sow isnt that good. not good enorgh. we just need a quality winger, and granero, and then coutinho/Texeria to fill in instead of kuyt.

Andy Carroll may just need regular appearances my suggestion would be a run in the reserves this would i feel sharpen him up selling him no option we would struggle to get 10 million .
we desperately need a goal getter or kiss goodbye to a top 6 finnish

Friend to much strikes 6 . We play with one or two strike we have suarez and carroll what we need is Defoe or Sow or Bent and one of the youngs Texeira or Costagnios but what I love is LOIC REMY or Tevez . Suarez & Tevez or Remy deadly Strike

18 Jan 2012 07:41:55
hi eds
will a stiker be coming to liverpool for sure and who will it be in your thoughts?
cheers
pragyan {Ed002's Note - Probably but we cannot be certain. I really don't know who it will be. We know of interest in De Jong, we know what Macca has said. We know that there has been interest in Soldado but he would be expensive. And then we have the speculation about Sow, Defoe and Teixeira right now.}

18 Jan 2012 06:55:45
I've read that Sow has agreed personal terms with Fenerbache so it looks like we can rule him out.

Texas Red

18 Jan 2012 05:58:07
Moussa Sow will sign for fenerbache...
Random Red

Even though he's just come out and said he wanted to go to lfc?

Matt Wollacott {Ed002's Note - The thing is Matt you need to see the question that led to Sow making that statement. THis is why so much gets taken out of context.}

YEEEEEEEEEEES.... hope so... he is really not that good. not better than what we got. everyone else not sow... please ...we dont need another bar hitter...

If sow going to turkey get roux 8m for a goal scorer {Ed002's Note - Roux has completed his move to Lille.}

18 Jan 2012 04:36:25
hello ed(s)who is marco bueno?have we actually got him?n do u think our players frm academy lyk suso,coady,sterling will get a chance this season or next?
Thnx {Ed002's Note - Bueno had a trial last summer and the club were not 100% convinced and invited him back for another trial around now. If he signs he will join the Academy and Reserves when he is 18.}

18 Jan 2012 03:14:55
ed2, a year on i was wondering were liverpooloffered sturridge as part of the torres deal and whose signing was he? Ancellotis or abramovich? Cheers
KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Sturridge was discussed the previous summer, and not when Torres moved in January. Ancelotti had no direct involvement with transfers other than being consulted as a concerned party. The owner was certainly keen to facilitate the move for Torres but there was plenty of support from elsewhere within the club.}

18 Jan 2012 03:00:42
Eds, is there any news regarding Texiera? There was something circling round that he didn't go into training or something recently. {Ed002's Note - I know of nothing other than speculation about Teixeira right now.}

18 Jan 2012 01:42:53
Lille have just signed Nolan Roux, maybe Sow will be coming to Anfield after all

Rocky

I hope so

Nolan Roux, Nolan Roux

18 Jan 2012 01:08:19
Eds since we are looking of sell glen johnson would sergio ramos be a possibility for right back?
cheers {Ed001's Note - no.}

Who said we are looking to sell? Why not try him at RW with Kelly at RB. {Ed005's Note - Because there is a clause in his contract that he must play RB. Why do you think he's been playing there all season when his defending is shocking and it is blatantly obvious Kelly is the far better defender?}

We've just given him a new contract and he is playing the best football since he got here, no way are we looking to sell him

This has to be one of the most unrealistic post I have read here. Why in the world would Madrid even consider to sell Ramos? He can play RB and CB

We have been waiting for years to see glen jo play well......... and now he can play well, we should sell him and buy an unproven player. come on!

Personally, it wouldn't break my heart if he were to move on. We could use the money to reinvest elsewhere in the squad and Kelly seems a fine replacement.

Liverpool have the ball most of the time and Johnson is better on the ball than Kelly, I no Kelly is a better defender but why get rid of him isn't are problem not scoring. Don't understand people's mentality they would rather have a work horse than a player comfortable on the ball, these are the same people who like kyut who I have always said gives the ball away nearly all the time.ill be gutted if johnson goes.

He would be some signing though

Hang on a mo.... GJ is sometimes seen at LB. So are LFC in breach of contract. Any player should be prepared to play wherever asked to. pride in the shirt, do whatever it takes.

If he has a clause - how come he played left back last week? Is the clause just for league games?

So if he's got a clause in his contract saying he must play right back then why did he play half of last season at left back? I know it was forced through injury but a contractual clause is a contractual clause!

Cherry picker

Ed005...can't be in his contract to play right back when he's played left back and kind of inside left centre half against city. Either way, he doesn't get enough attacking credit in my opinion. We shouldn't sell him and we won't just yet!
Ed 005 if there is clause in his contract that he most play rb..then why did he play half of last season at lb??
Ed, Thought Glen was playing LB the other day no?
{Ed002's Note - I don't know any details of the clause but am aware of similar clauses other players have had inserted. I would suspect it is not as simple as "must play RB" but will be based around "if all other players are fit and available then GJ, if fit and selected, should be preferred for the position of right back above others" or somesuch wording. As far as I know, it is quite unusual for such clauses to be included in contracts any more. I recall that there were many such clauses in contracts with Italian clubs in the past and some lower league teams had contracts with unusual clauses when taking on a player at the tail end of his career, but it is certainly no common in England now.}

I would assume Glen has the option to say "yeah, i'll play in a different position for this game" if asked by the management. However, with fierce competition for the England RB slot for the EUROs, I would doubt he'd play any other position for the rest of the season. I would also figure that playing LB is more comparable to playing RB than playing RW is, so he'd probably be more inclined to play LB than in midfield.

I would sell him if we got £10+million for him. In my opinion Kelly's a better defender, we wouldn't need to use the money to replace GJ, and the money could be used to strengthen weaker areas. Plus, he's on massive wages. Seems like a no brainer to me.

are liverpool gunna make a bid for sow

Brest striker Nolan Roux has just signed a 4 and a half year deal for Lille possibly paving the way for Moussa Sow to move to us. Sow would be a great addition to the squad.

Rocky

Hope not he s NOT that good.

18 Jan 2012 00:44:01
Hi, great site. Do you know of anymore information on Jordan Rhodes ? Are we still interested or what? {Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest in him, other than having him scouted for future reference. But I don't know of any interest in actually purchasing him.}

18 Jan 2012 00:32:43
hi eds what do you think of defoe coming and sow also on granero? {Ed001's Note - Defoe is highly unlikely to come so far north, thankfully. Sow is very much a possibility, Granero less so now, but maybe in the summer I would say.}

18 Jan 2012 00:24:02
hey eds this is my second time posting love the sight and appreciate your time! I know you say there is no way of hazard coming to liverpool in january but surely with joe cole wanting to stay at lille couldnt we agree a deal now and get him in the summer? I dont believe chelsea will get him for 25mil either thats a joke i would be gutted if they did and we didnt even have a slight chance of making a offer {Ed001's Note - Chelsea have Champions League football, that is a huge draw. Cole is not going to make a difference to us getting Hazard, Sow maybe, but not Hazard. Lille know his value and they can get an excellent deal elsewhere and then buy Cole off us with the cash. I would rather we went for his brother Thorgan anyway, far better prospect by the looks of it.}

Hazard would be cup tied for Chelsea in the CL,and they could miss out on it next year , just like us.CL isnt a valid reason to sign for Chelsea and not us {Ed002's Note - It is by no means certain he will be joining Chelsea just yet.}

18 Jan 2012 00:15:44
To macca - Eds whats the hold up with this surprise player from inter haven't heard a thing on ssn and macca seems a dead certain on it which he's always right :) any idea when he may sign this week or next and is Dow on the way I've just seen Lille signed roux just paving way for sow

LFC Kidd :) {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about the kid from Inter sorry. I am of the belief that Roux was signed to allow Sow to leave, either now or in the summer.}

17 Jan 2012 23:50:22
Ed with Lille agreeing a for Nolan Roux, does that mean a move for Sow is more likely?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I really don't know if it is or not.}
