Hi ed, just wanted to know if there is still interest in basel winger shaqiri. The rumours regarding him have gone quiet has he agreed to join a club.

Kash {Ed002's Note - He has agreed a summer move to Bayern Munich.}

Witch everyone new

Hi ed do we have any interest in Andy Carroll of Newcastle .....oh wait ha ha

Red End

19 Apr 2012 21:11:08
Ed do you know if Liverpool are looking at any CDM? Or do they have faith in Spearing? We've struggled since Lucas was injured and think it would be silly to not buy a good back up.
TIZER RED {Ed002's Note - I can't think that they have at all.}

Lucas is over rated.Not much to choose between him and Spearing, just different styles of doing the same job.

Lucas is one of the best holding midfielders in europe and we missed him badly when he got injured theres a lot of difference between them spearing is agood squad man thats all.

Luuk De Jong to join in summer , £23.5m is the fee which is being discussed , it could rised up to £28m

What the donald duck! thought he was only worth about 10 mill would much rather have someone better

Do hope so mate, was in holland the other day watching some of their games, he looked awesome, can certainly finish...

Bit expensive though tbh rather have soldado for that price

And you know this how?

God i hope we don't overpay for a another bloody player.

You can half that price mate!!
gazthered

I thought commoli was the man for overpriced transfers..de jong would be of value for around 10-12 million..
now 23 million , we got suarez for that amount..

For that price you would want an established international does he get on the holland team i doubt it and spurs get vdv for 8 million doesnt make sense .

He's available for 10 to 11 mil..

Thats too much, he will end up like andy carroll, and we dont want that

Hi Ed002,
how much would it cost in your opinion to get De Jong and van Wolfswinkel? I'd rather see these boys out on Anfield than Suarez. If some of the people mentioned on this site leave (maxi, kuyt, suarez, cole, aqua, adam?) maybe it'll be a good idea to get these boys. Is it possible? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Just guessing, 12.65M euros for De Jong and 20M euros, as noted by his club, for RVW.}

What a ridiculous statement suarez is miles better than those two.

Neilp

Well if youd rather see these boys at Anfield it must be a good idea !!

Dodge

Haha £12.65mill pretty random guess ed?! :s

Thats close ed concening price but whats really happening is Soldado and De Jong for 40m euros approx. Kuyt and Johnson leaving will pay their wages......Angelinas right leg.

suares is liverpools best player by far

Luuk and Rocky are te future of Dutch soccer. Naturally for me they are the successor's of Robin Van Persie and Huntelaar so we get them, then we can sell Suarez easily....

19 Apr 2012 20:35:36
Ed, have you watched 'Ricardo Vaz Te' this season for Barnsley then West Ham?

Apparently he has pace trickery and plenty of goals in him (20) so far from the right wing.

He seems to be living up to his potential but has a bad injury record and could be a one season wonder...

No doubt some EPL to team will take a chance but I think would be too much of a risk for LFC. {Ed002's Note - He failed big time at Bolton and I suspect he has found his level.}

19 Apr 2012 19:48:55
edds,not long back there was a rumour that the owners had demanded to know why kk wasnt playing maxi (im pretty sure one of the eds said this rumour was true) since then maxi has had a decent run in the team. Any way my question is, with John W Henry being at the reserve match today (well done lads!) and suso playing great again, do you think theres any chance he could ask why suso isnt getting a game in the first team, and do you think kk would give in and give him a game? a lot of 'ifs' i know, sorry, but any answer would be appreciated as always.

john {Ed002's Note - Henry will not be picking the team - none of it makes sense to me. Sorry.}

Martin Tyler mentioned something like that in commentary last week.

That John Henry had specifically asked why Maxi was consistently being dropped

I understand what this poster is saying. They are basically asking how much influence do the owners have in picking the team, or giving the manager a nudge if they suspect a player aren't getting the games they deserve (subjective term). I also picked up when the commentator mentioned that the owners asked why Maxi wasn't playing. Given his record of about 12 goals in 20 games, maybe they have a point. I personally would keep using him as a squad player and you need players of that ability to add depth to your squad. Plus he never complains about being out of the team, appears to have a good public image and links up well with Suarez. Hopefully Maxi will stay for another season at least :-)

I wouldn't say Suso had a good GAME. I was at the game, and for the first half he was terrible. He was immense in the second half though. As Rodolfo Borrell has stressed, he's improved a lot this year, and he has the talent, but he needs to put everything together

19 Apr 2012 19:47:06
Eds - I saw you asked someone would we want Dzeko? The answer would be a definite yes, if we could sell Carroll because although he scored against the spam on Saturday to guarantee a place at Wembley he is nowhere near as good as Dzeko and I believe Dzeko could have done a lot better at City with more opportunity. At around 18M I think he would be a good deal if we recoup around 14-15M for Carroll.
I have seen Dzeko mentioned before on the site, so do you think there is a possibility that a deal could be acheived?
YOZLFC {Ed002's Note - I really don't know of any interest from Liverpool.}

How much wages do you think Dzeko is on?

DaveyBootle

Dzeco would be gr8, but dortmund bayern n ac milan want him also
5gold stars

Dzeko is on 120k a week!

Do you guys watch football? Dzeko is equally as ineffective as Carroll,if not worse.

Why anybody would want him at LFC is beyond me.

120k? No chance then.

DaveyBootle

Problem with Dzeko is that although he has bags of ability i.e. can shoot with both feet, strong in the air etc etc. he is extremely lazy. Reminds me of Berbatov with more pace. He lacks that graft though which ultimately will be his downfall. Definitely better than Carrol at the moment, but at 120k per week,absoultely no chance!!

Do you mean Berbatov the leagues top scorer a couple of seasons ago?

19 Apr 2012 19:29:13
Evening Ed, at the risk of angering you I'm going to throw in a bit of a random name. Do you know anything of Oleh Husyev? Has there ever been a link to us?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I must admit to having forgotten about Husyev Chris. There were links to Lyon and Stuttgart when they were in their prime five or six years ago. I certainly don't recall any links to Liverpool - certainly not in recent years.}

19 Apr 2012 18:50:50
hey ed do u think that agger or skrtel will leave us(liverpool) in the summer
dont want it to happen though.. {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

19 Apr 2012 18:47:18
Hi eds you say that you seeing Liverpool spending in the summer and tweaking there squad. Would it be fair to say though that they will be living with in their means?

Also what do you think this summer holds in general? Do you expect the new fair play rules to have a big say this summer with teams not going out and spending silly money and just tweaking there squads?

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Spending will be within means and much will depend on who leaves. I would not concern myself with the FFP rules just yet.}

When do you thnk we will have to start worrying about the FFP Ed?

dmedly {Ed002's Note - It kicks in in June 2014 - perhaps you should worry a few years after that.}

And there is extra investment from kit deal

A stadium to build maybe and no champions league of course its time to worry now as were in the middle of the biggest world recession since 1939

19 Apr 2012 18:16:25
LFC are set to bolster their youth ranks with a move for Athletic Bilbao striker Mikel Zaton, according to reports in Spain. Real Madrid and Barca are also interested in Zaton but Basque paper EL Correo reports #LFC have already entered negotiations with Athletic. Zaton, 16, has bagged 25 goals in 28 games for Athletic's youth side this season, including five hat-tricks.
you heard anything about this ED?

Daniel Rogers. {Ed002's Note - I don't know but it will not be easy for him to move at 16.}

19 Apr 2012 17:37:31
Ed do you still think kenny will go at the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - There has to be a good chance. I am not aware of anything to change my mind.}

Ed why do you think kenny will leave at the end of the season.
ithink we have had a good season so why.
i will be gutted if he is moved out,
and i will not go again if he is sacked or moved on. it would be a dsgrace.

chrissy {Ed002's Note - The primary objective for the season was getting back in to the Champions League. The League Cup win was a real boost, and perhaps an FA Cup win will become the next boost. But the season will end with much money spent - a pretty much new team from a year ago and further from the Champions League than for a very long time. Dalglish was a great choice for stablizing the side following the issues of the previous couple of years. I was not so sure that Dalglish was the right move to take the team forward and I can see new blood being brought in over the summer.}

There is absolutely no chance kenny will go this summer. none whatsoever. why would the owners bring in a new manager who would have to completely reshape the team again? kenny has a 3 year contract. end of.

19 Apr 2012 17:18:54
Teenage striker Joel Pohjanpalo spent a week on trial with Liverpool in March 2012 and judging by his recent three minute hat-trick for Finland's most successful side HJK, he could well be on his way to Anfield this summer.

Someone has been on talksport

Didn't he turn down LFC?

Gav

He is a Pool fan, but at the moment wants to play full season with HJK. He is only 17 and full season with HJK would do wonders with Euro games with them as well and move maybe in January or end of August. Price could be higher though.

19 Apr 2012 17:10:02
I hear man city are going to buy llorente for 30 mil?

RMUK

And.......

this is lfc rumours not man city

I hope Bilbao charge Man City twice that much.

After all, money is not object to Man City and their oh so forced success.

Cant see why they would buy him. he looks a lot like dzeko.

Why would they sell Dzeko and then buy him

Sorry for copy and paste.
Four of the most talented members of Nacional's academy are ready to try their luck in English football, as they prepare to leave on trial with Premier League giants Liverpool.

Rodrigo Amaral, Leandro Otormin, Gaston Pereiro and Daniel Baldi, will leave Montevideo on Thursday to take up the opportunity of training with Kenny Dalglish's side. The teenagers will join in England former Bolso defender Sebastian Coates, who left the club in 2011, as well as Uruguay sharpshooter Luis Suarez, another alumnus of the team's youth set-up.

The deal was made possible by one of the clauses in Coates' transfer to Liverpool, which stipulated that the Reds would have first option on Nacional's young talents. A short statement on the Uruguayan club's website said goodbye to the teenage quartet, and wished them the best of luck across the Atlantic Ocean.

"This is what playing football is all about. Enjoy yourselves and be proud that Nacional have chosen you for this opportunity," youth coordinator Roberto Roo told the players, while sporting director Daniel Enriquez affirmed that it was a great opportunity for the young prospects.

"This is very important for us because this step has been taken thanks to the Nacional name and what the club have achieved in the last few years.

"It is fundamental for the kids to travel, to discover the world and take on this life experience. It will be unforgettable for them, and we want them to make the most of this experience."

The youngsters will take part in 10 training sessions at Liverpool, before a scheduled return to Uruguay on April 29.

King Willie

How much do you see us signing these players for if they impress?

This is good news and exactly the sort of stuff I like seeing our club involved with, hopefully more relationships with clubs like this will prosper in future..

eds what other clubs have intrest in soldado and muniain {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Milan and PSG have shown an interest in Soldado. Muniain was touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. They won't get it because I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Ed, what kind of off-field issues has Muniain had?
Is it reasonably trivial stuff due to immaturity or something more serious?
He's a cracking player who I'd love at Liverpool {Ed002's Note - We don't want to go down the gossip route but mainly dumb stuff.}

19 Apr 2012 16:02:06
hey eds why do liverpool owe cole money, also do you now if any lfc reprasentatives are going to watch any europa games tonight because i now they have in earlyier rounds and finally do we have any new intrest in anyone?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Liverpool spread Joe Cole's signing on fee across his contract. If he leaves early then he is owed the remainder. I don't know if anyone will be at the EUROPA games this evening or not. In terms of new interest in players, aside from press speculation on a day-by-day basis, I do not know that there is anything new in terms of confirmed interest in players to report.}

19 Apr 2012 15:55:06
There is a rumour that LFC scouts are watching Szalai from Mainz (If I'm wrong, correct me). He would be an excellent addition, or backup if Carroll keeps up his current form. With his goal poaching ability and physical presence he would be worth a bargain.
PJ

19 Apr 2012 15:38:18
Do you reckon liverpool could make bids for kalou and moses? And it looks like cole like france so how much do you reckon lfc will get for him? {Ed002's Note - Doubtful, possibly, enough to pay off what is owed to him for signing on and some left over after agent fees and taxes - but not too much.}

19 Apr 2012 15:34:37
Hi eds, I'll like to know if there's any interest in Luis Muriel, an interesting 20 years forward, that has proven himself in one of the worst clubs of italy (lecce). Til now i've heard some interest form other italian teams, but at his age, and with characteristics i'll like to see him playing at liverpool, instead of J. Martinez or V. Wolfswinkel. His feed would be between 8-10 M {Ed002's Note - There is plenty of interest in Luis Muriel but none I am aware of from Liverpool at this time.}

19 Apr 2012 15:31:10
Heard some talk about Victor Moses coming to Liverpool, is this true, and would he add anything to the team, or is he just like Sterling? And are we looking at any good forwards besides Jackson Martinez? And is there anything on the situation regarding Suarez or Carroll?

Yes we want moses he wouldnt hepl our problems but we are intrested in solsman kalou and rual who would both come for free

'would he add anything to the team or is he just like Sterling? Give Sterling a chance will you.

If he was as good as sterling wed definatley be after him, as it is hes a decent player with far more potential than current ability. id snap him up if hes free(or cheap, dnt no about his contract). hed offer something different to anyone in our first team, whether he'l ever be good enough remains to be seen.

If we can get Moses at a reasonable price then wouldn't he and Sterling be our two wingers for the future?

19 Apr 2012 15:15:59
ed just a question is raul on a free this summer an would liverpool be interested. Knows where the net is {Ed002's Note - At 35 with vast wages, I would very much doubt he will be heading any lists at Liverpool.}

19 Apr 2012 14:33:19
We've all heard what Maccas had to say on the matter, but Ed, what are the realistic chances of Muniain {Ed002's Note - Macca stated Muniain was a target - not that he would sign, so you are not comparing like for like. I think it will be difficult, although not impossible, for Liverpool to sign Muniain. A few months ago Muniain was touted around clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and the two clubs in England that were approached were Chelsea and Manchester United. The asking price was 40M euros. I don't think either club would risk half of that on a player who is young and has had some off field issues. If the price comes down to a reasonable level I can see interest from several English clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Hi ed
What are the off field issues you are referring to? Couldn't find out on search function.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - We don't really want to get in to the gossip side of players lives, but as I said, if Liverpool are interested in the player it will not be easy to bring him to Anfield.}

Wasn't saying that Macca said he was going to sign him Ed {Ed002's Note - Read the first sentence.}

Farewell to "The 4 of Liverpool"

http://www.ovaciondigital.com.uy/120419/futnac-636962/futbolnacional/despedida-a-los-4-de-liverpool-/

Eds, have you heard anything about this? Seems like we've given a trial of 10 training sessions to 4 youth Uruguayan's. It mentions the deal of Coates and Liverpool can bring Uruguyan's over.

Sikander {Ed002's Note - There is an agreement for Academy aged players but none could move before 18. I suspect this will become a regular occurrence.}

Question Ed wasn't there a feeder club arrangement signed during the Coates deal as I remember? Thx great site {Ed002's Note - It was not a "feeder" arrangement but a deal that offered non-exclusive options to Academy level players.}

19 Apr 2012 13:38:42
Hi ed's Heard of a friend who supports wigan, that martinez could leave for a top prem side, and he wants to take a few players with him, moses, santos and mcCarthy! He reckons it could be us or spurs! Me personally doesn't think he is quite ready to be our manager! Spurs maybe! Y..N..W..A. After hearing macca's comments on soldado and munian, I have put a £10 1st scorer double tonight! U never know! Y..N..W..A thanks ed's. DHH L20 KOPITE

We have a manager. Why not get behind him.

YNWA

I am behind kenny 100 %

I thought you said a top prem side?

19 Apr 2012 13:25:06
owen will return this summer on a free bee along with juvi jasskelinen from bolton

Of course owen will return. He's just the sort of player FSG are looking for: young, loads of potential, never injured, low wages....

Stop taking the p*ss. If you can't post anything sensible go back to the Mac site.

Why not

Utter bull poo!

19 Apr 2012 12:57:47
ed any chances of pato or dzeko?
btw great site.. {Ed002's Note - I doubt it - would you want Dzeko?}

We already have one donkey why would we want another for?

Lol to the first comment

I would surely want Pato. He is immense when he plays. An attacking trio of Suarez, Carroll and Pato!!, yep we will have our very own holy trinity coz Pato plays in the Suarez mould....

19 Apr 2012 12:08:03
hey eds/macca

are the rumours true about us in negotians or at least enquiring about A.Bilbao's 16y/o Mikel Zaton? 25/28 games he scored in.... just wondering if thats true... {Ed002's Note - I don't know but it will not be easy for him to move at 16.}

19 Apr 2012 10:12:59
Heard a rumour that Liverpool will move for Loic Remy if they fail to get De Jong and that Eriksen is also on their radar from Ajax.
What chance Eds ?
BlueShi*ewillneverbeatthereds2-1 {Ed002's Note - There have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool but in January a third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there was interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed which was immediately dismissed. Spurs went in to discuss options for buying the player outright and Marseille said he was not for sale. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side in the summer but Marseille have no interest in selling unless a very good offer is made. There has been a suggestion that Arsenal could be interested in Remy. Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

Liverpool FC's academy is brimming with exciting young talent at the moment, and over the last few months, the youth ranks have been bolstered by the likes of Jao Teixeria, Jordan Ibe, Mark Pelosi, And, Most recently, Dan Smith. Now, the club has reportedly set it's sights on brining free-scoring Athletic Bilbao youth striker Mikel Zaton to Anfield.

According to renowned Basque newspaper El Correo,
Liverpool are in "negotiations" to sign the prolific 16 year old striker, who currently plays for Bilbao's youth team in the Cadete Liga Vasca.

With 25 goals in 28 games including an amazing 5 hatricks, Zaton is the league's top scorer.

Sounds good to me lets hope we can nurture all this talent properly and bring through some world beaters. On a side note what's the situation with jao teixeria and does anyone know much about dan smith? Cheers. Redchris

What the use of having lots of kids with outstanding talent if they are never going to be allowed to show it at this club??,
They will just kick there heels hovering around the 1st team but never being allowed to show what they have.

Teixeria has joined but has been injured so hasn't played yet. Dan smith joined a while ago.

People seem to forget that many of these players will be playing Under 18's next season, they are some way off first team football.
Hopefully some of the better ones will get a sniff of first team football next season ,probably in the Carling or the Europa league

Hi Macca,

Any updates on the latest transfer news and on Soldado and Iker Munuain?

Yes macca we are all eager to know.. thanks.

Eds, great site and your truthful comments are aprreciated.
Some news I've heard from a guy who's son plays at Liverpool at youth level, and who often comes up with snippets of gossip which have been quite accurate in the past.
Soldado is our main target at the moment, along with Luuk De Jong and talks have taken place with both parties.
The Drenthe talk is absolute nonesense and has probably derived from a devastated Blue S*i*e.
He did say that Glen J will be leaving in the summer and that a right back will be bought, but not the Isla guy who has been mentioned on this site and he also claims that we have asked City if we can speak to Adam Johnson who Dalglish likes immensely, but City have refused so far.
Dalglish will still be in charge next season and will work alongside the new DOF so that there is a balance to the management team.
Some of these things will happen Eds and I'm sure some will fall through, but what do you believe from his comments are most likely to happen.
Thanks for your time - YOZLFC {Ed001's Note - the right back does seem very likely, Johnson has been asked about a few times, but I can't see us still being interested unless he is willing to take a big pay cut.}

All seems quite believable to me. obviously wanting these players and getting them are two different things but I at least like the targets mentioned. hopefully we can pull off some of the targetted signings mentioned

19 Apr 2012 09:47:04
how about weilton as a possible signing int he summer possible eds? {Ed001's Note - I don't know much about him. I have been told we have looked at him, but I don't know anything about it.}

19 Apr 2012 09:01:40
Hi Eds. Please post in rumours. Thanks for your ongoing efforts and committment on our behalf. May I ask a question regarding conflicting information coming from players via interviews and yourselves via this site? Carroll and Suarez are both examples of players who have publically stated their committment to staying at the club for the long term, yet several of the Eds on the site have stated that Luis is likely to be sold and the club will listen to offers for Carroll. I'm not doubting the Eds knowledge - rather I'm wondering if LFC fans are currently being misled by certain players in interviews that would obviously have been sanctioned by the club. If either of these players have even the slightest inkling that they will be leaving in the summer then it strikes me as very poor form for the players to conduct interviews where they assure fans they are LFC all the way, and indeed the club for allowing such interviews to go public. Obviously, another scenario exists whereby the players themselves honestly do believe they will stay, only for the club to pull the rug from under them and move them on. You guys obviously get your information from somewhere, I just find it a little disconcerting and very 'non-LFC' to keep reading this conflicting information, and feel that if there is any danger of either of these players leaving and they know they are going then neither them or the club should be allowing these interviews. And if the players are ignorant of their future fate, then the club itself is wrong to allow interviews stating players are here for years while they are working in the background to sell them. {Ed001's Note - it happens all the time, players don't know the club's plans for them anyway, they often only find out they are moving when the deal is agreed. You can't blame them for saying they want to stay.}

30th Jan 2011 Kenny publicly states Ryan Babbel is staying.
31st Jan 2011 Ryan babbel leaves.

I wouldn't blame a player for commiting to a club mate.

Unfortunately you seem very naive to think that a player interviewed for the national press is going to say exactly what they think.
Thhis happens all the time all over the world, players dedicate they're lives to a club then move on a few days later. (Nando springs to mind)

So the eds know better than the players then?

Welcome to the world of modern football

19 Apr 2012 08:51:03
Hi there,
I've just read something this morning that worries me. It said we were thinking about a move for Kalou from Chelsea. Please tell me this is just paper talk as he is crap.

We were sniffing around Drenthe a few years back but went for Babel instead. Why I don't know. RED LENIN

Where did he mention drenthe?

Must be a man crush lol

Would Kalou be that bad for a free transfer?

True sorry

Yeah he would be that bad. A waste of huge wages

19 Apr 2012 08:16:18
what's your opinion on drenthe rumours?

Rubbish

Royston wouldnt want to go to a club like liverpool get a grip

If he has really bought a house in Hale, could that he may sign permanently for Everton not also be an option? {Ed002's Note - Or simply an investment. I would agree that "holiday home" is not an option.}

19 Apr 2012 07:48:08
eds when macca said about soldado and munain being targets and we are gonna sign five players will that be more if players go or is that on top of the team we have now thanks {Ed002's Note - I really don't know what he meant.}

19 Apr 2012 07:23:39
Just read an interesting piece on Jackson Martinez and his abilities...Now when i heard he has played in the Columbian/Mexican league i was very hesitant and didnt expect much but i hope he joins us to add some pace/goals to our strike force and for a price of £4-6 million its a bargain

http://paisleygates.com/?p=7826

MJ

Totally agree MJ, but as eds said if we were interested then Jan would of been a better time to buy, so personally i do not think we will be getting him.

BigD

I would rather have a £4.-£6m playerfail than the £35m one.
Just hope we can sign someone who can actually score, and not break the bsnk in doing so.

Im sure i have read somewhere that he has already signed for Arsenal, and his out on loan cos of work permit issues.

19 Apr 2012 04:35:38
G'day Ed's,

Not a rumour, just seeking your opinion. Do you think the club would be open to the idea of moving Carroll on in the summer, or do you think we'll stick with him?
And also, in your opinion, if you had to name one player you expect us to sign in the summer, who would that be?

Cheers, JS. {Ed002's Note - I think Liverpool would certainly listen to offers for Carroll in the summer.}

Personally I think they'll stick with him for at least another season. When you spend 35 million you gonna give your investment longer then normal to prove himself. Put it this way if we had picked him up for a more reasonable 10 to 15 mill I reckon he would've been shown the door in January.

Ed, Any chance of Matt Jarvis in the summer when Wolves go down? Always thought he was a cracking little player and he'd offer us more than Downing does.

Many thanks. {Ed001's Note - don't you mean if they go down?}

Jarvis would prob have the same prob as Henderson, Downing and especially Adam - take the biggest fish out from a small pond, and they look much smaller. Javis has been good at wolves, as has Fletcher, but that doesnt mean they will thrive at a team looking to challenge the top 4.

this was the whole problem with last summer - we signed good players from poor teams, instead of fantastic players from great teams (Enrique being the exception here).

I've said myself that he would be a good signing. Yes, I know he wouldn't be the glamour signing most crave. But every time I see him play he's running at defenders and getting crosses in. Left and right. Something Downing fails with.
as stated, WHEN wolves go down we could sign him cheap.

Why are we still craving for premier league ceap. Haven't we learnt our lesson already. We need really really good players. We have ovespent on suad players. We need first team players.

I said 'when' for a reason. They're a cert go down. Especially now they've lost Hennessey (one of only a few bright lights this term) for 6months to a cruciate ligament injury

Jarvis would be a good player Back up for Downing on left. Also buying Adam Johnson

Scott Dann £3m
James McCarthy £8m
Adam Johnson £14m
Matthew Jarvis £2m
Fernando Llorente £27m (hard to beat city off though)
