Ed002, you've said in the past that you can't say how likely something is. Well I just saw a rumour saying that we have an 80% chance of signing Mahmoud Dahoud😂😂
These rumours get better every time!

Believable0 Unbelievable14

{Ed002's Note - Mo Dahoud was subject of an approach by Juventus to Borussia Mönchengladbach in November 2015 where they were rebuffed in respect of a January transfer. Manchester City also has a declared interest in the player and may look for an early agreement over a summer move - the player has also been watched by Leicester, Kasımpasa, Norwich and Shakhtar Donetsk this season. There are no offers on the table for him at all. Liverpool has been present at games he has played in.}

Evening eds - I just wondered if all this media talk of a possible take-over just hot air. I did do a search but there was no conclusive answers. I know one of the eds said a season or so ago that they thought a take-over may be on the cards around this season as the big TV money was coming in. Is this talk of what the eds suspected or just hot air? I appreciate it may be hard to find anything out for sure. I would rather hear news from yourselves rather than media tosh. Thanks in advance for any news.

Believable2 Unbelievable18

{Ed001's Note - it is difficult to be 100% sure but, in this case, it is pretty much 100% no right now. The Dubai ruling family are interested in owning us but are not keen on competing against their own family who own City.}

19 Apr 2016 18:18:26
Would Liverpool and FSG consider a China ownership? Or is it too taboo for Liverpool to be Chinese owned? ;

Agree1 Disagree20

{Ed001's Note - why would it be taboo?}

19 Apr 2016 18:24:55
Thanks eds that makes sense. I just thought myself that maybe they had decided to act now with the TV money due and the fact that we have improved and if we continue to improve, maybe scrape top four next season or win Europa and get CL this season, then how much would our value go up? Big ifs I know but doable. Would cost and value become more important than doubts or misgivings?! I'm not sure I'd be particularly happy anyway as it could well unsettle the club again. Could buying into the club be an option rather than buying us outright?

Agree0 Disagree13

{Ed001's Note - it is not about the money, they have more than they know what to do with. It is about raising the UAE's profile abroad. The Sheikhs are brothers and the Abu Dhabi one had to bail out the Dubai one during the recession, so there is no way he is going to go against him.}

19 Apr 2016 18:54:10
i don't understand him wanting to buy us if he doesn't want to compete with his brother, there's no point in him being interested then unless they sell city but that's nogoing to happen.

Agree0 Disagree12

{Ed001's Note - you are obviously missing the point.}

19 Apr 2016 18:56:58
which in your opinion is the most likely, chinese or arab ownership.

Agree0 Disagree11

{Ed001's Note - clearly Chinese is more likely.}

19 Apr 2016 19:03:52
Thanks eds that's why I ask you. I would never of known that. Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate.}

19 Apr 2016 19:13:16
i obviously am missing the point, it's like wanting something you can never have or wanting something you can never afford, do you think it will happen in the near future i. e next year or two.

But do either of them like the flintstones?
I bet the ones from Abu Dhabi do! I'll get my coat.

grajac, I think the jist of is that, ceteris paribus, Khalifa would make a bid for Liverpool in a heartbeat, but his family's control of City Group makes things much more complicated.

I don't understand why would our supporters want the club to be sold?
FSG brought stability and bailed the club out when we were almost bankrupt. They have invested heavily in the transfer market and opted for staying @ Anfield and building a new stand. Why would we want to be sold to some spoilt prince who doesn't know what to do with his new toys after getting bored with them in a month's time? Or being sold to some Chinese group that heavily rely on their leveraged businesses? Do we want our club to be sold piece by piece when the debt collectors come calling?

Solar I haven't seen one fan say he wants a take over. It's just that one of the eds has long suspected fsg would sell around the time the next big TV money is due, around now. Then these rumours occur. FSG am sure are in it for a profit on resale so I don't think it will be far off.

Just to be clear. Abu Dhabi (Nahyan) and Dubai (Maktoum) ruling families are different (same tribe) . Respective rulers are not brothers.
Each 7 Emirates is ruled by a different family. Federally they are governed by UAE govt. President is the Abu Dhabi ruler, wice president is Dubai ruler.

Abu Dhabi have all the money (oil) . Dubai are far more diversified and selling Dubai to the world as a tourist destination (Emirates airlines etc) . Abu Dhabi is starting to do this more now with younger generation getting closer to ruling succession.

Hi Eds,
I know about West Ham's interest, but
do Liverpool hold an interest in Batshuayi?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - No, I am not aware (and neither are Marseille) of any Liverpool interest at this time. Liverpool has been represented at Marseille games watching another player as has been explained. Marseille has spoken to Valencia and Chelsea about Michy Batshuayi whilst numerous clubs have attended MArseille games this season to watch him and others. Interest of Lyon, Porto, Milan, Monaco and Benfica has seemingly moved on for now due to the price and other issues. Atletico may still be hedging their bets over a move by Griezmann and may well look to a bid once the Griezmann situation is resolved. Arsenal has had long-term interest as have Spurs, and neither can be discounted from making an offer in the summer. Whilst Marseille do not want to sell (and have signed him to a contract extension), a summer move may be possible due to two major issues that are the focus of the club at the moment. Tentative interest of West Ham, Leicester and Juventus is known to Marseille but it has gone no further. Juventus interest will be dependent on Morata, Firm interest of Dortmund is known to Marseille but a request for a meeting has been shunned for now - again there is a dependency on what happens with another player, in this case Aubameyang.}

Seems like a Benteke type player granted he has more movement than him. Personally I'd like to see someone like vietto.

Morning redmen.

Here's your weekend loan update.

Grujic and red star Belgrade for the second week running were held to a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile Allan and st truiden slipped to another 1-0 defeat.

Luis Alberto played for the opening 50 minutes as deportivo drew 1-1 with Sevilla.

The enigma that is ballotelli played the full 90 as AC beat sampdoria 1-0.
Now that he has finally started 2 matches in a row he has declared he feels he's dome enough to stay at Milan. He also announced he never liked it at Liverpool.
Mario, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Fenerbache continued their chase of the title by winning 4-1.
Did I read correctly on here that markovic is now back at melwood as his injury has ruled him out for the season?

Fsv are dropping dangerously close to the drop zone following another 2-0 defeat.
The only plus point is awoniyi started again and seems to of now established himself as a first team regular.

Yesil continued to make an ar%e print on the luzern bench as they won 1-0.

Vigouroux is still missing (I assume through injury) as Swindon lost 1-0.

Wisdom had a day to forget as norwjch lost to relegation rivals Sunderland.
Wisdom gave away a penalty for the opening goal that former red borini put away.

Fulton wasn't in the squad as Pompey lost 2-1 to Plymouth.

And canos played for 85minutes as Brentford drew 1-1 with Bristol.

And that's your lot redmen.

Here's hoping we stuff our rivals tomorrow 🏆.

Thanks Carra.
My question to you and the others following our loanees, have these been beneficial loans for the players and for our club?

I watched both of mario's last 2 games. Thought he looked pretty good.

Agree0 Disagree21

Well, Mcgoveb, I'd say for most of those that remain on loan it has been beneficial.
Of course, Markovic should never have been sent away.
Just not having Balotelli around has been beneficial, and hopefully he'll attract some interest from buyers in the remainder of the season.
Canos has been doing well, and with the amount of young wide players that we have, a loan was probably the best place for him.
Allan and Awoniyi‘s loans were necessary due to work permit issues.
Fulton and Vigouroux may as well be playing football.
Luis Alberto has had a good season and should help us reclaim a few quid.
Yesil needed game time. Unfortunately, he hasn't been given it and his loan looks like a failure.
Wisdom was a weird one, since we had zero cover there once Gomez got injured. But, Andre has had such a poor season that it's now hard to see a future for him at Liverpool. It probably was a mistake to send the lad away. It seems like Rodgers was just too lazy to manage, monitor and nurture young players. "Here's a new contract lad, now sod off to East Anglia and come back a superstar. Job done. Amn't I an outstanding manager. "
Rather perversely, the best thing to come from Wisdom's loan, may just be Randall's emergence.

Don't rate Randall personally. Seen little about him to think he would be any kind of option going forward.
