Ed's, is there any possibility that Lacazette or Grenier, and the other young french talents Benzia will leave Lyon this summer? Heard a heap of young talent coming through there? What can you say about them, not just about them moving but their reputations? Cheers

Hi Eds,

With it seeming that we are looking for full back right and left has there been any names banded about that we are interested in? Also is it a sure thing that Johnson will leave in the summer. I personally think there is not to many better in the league?

Ive seen a few posts on Abdulrahman. is he a realistic option for Liverpool and also what do youthink Liverpools chances are of getting him? and are Liverpool seriously looking into doing a deal for him? summer I assume!

What do you think are Reinas options come the summer. I see he's making his mouth go again saying it was Liverpool who made the decision not to want him and deciding to put our faith in a new younger keeper - I mean we didn't have much option when he said he wanted to leave because Barca were going to be bidding for him and we needed a replacement.
I for one did like Reina although he became unreliable the last 2 seasons.
Will we keep the 80,000 mouth piece and alternate him and Mignolet? Or could he be used as a make weight to bring in a new player(s)

{Ed001's Note - the club wish to sell him, due to his attempts to force a move out of the club. All he is doing is again trying to get a move done.}

Ed1 what kind of fee could we get for reina now? 4 to 5 mill at the most I would guess due to his poor form.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea mate, though I didn't know he was playing poorly for Napoli. He is coming into his prime as a keeper, they usually hit their peak about now, so his age shouldn't be an issue.}

I haven't watched any of Serie A this season but Reina has kept 5 clean sheets for Napoli, in 15 league games.

Last season, Reina had 14 clean sheets in 31 games.

Obviously you could manipulate those stats how you like, to show poor defense or poor keeping.

Does Ilori have a future at the club, the lad's gotten pi55ed at not getting a chance, how's he really fared for you Ed001, and must it have commanded a start?

{Ed001's Note - he is playing well in Spain, and he does have a future at the club, if he is prepared to knuckle down and make one. It is really up to him, but I hope he sees that he has every chance of being a regular if he puts his mind to it.}

Eds is there truth in the rumours regarding the young central defender Lescellas from forest? Apparently we scouted him again at weekend, is he really good enough for us?

{Ed001's Note - I know Everton are monitoring him as a potential long term replacement for Distin, I don't know if we have had a look or not. I wouldn't personally have said he was good enough, for Everton or us, yet, but he is young and looks to have some potential. Not a player I would recommend to us though.}

What players would you recommend for Liverpool?
Would be good to know who you think we could realistically get that would improve us.

{Ed001's Note - it is hard to say who is realistic this early on. A lot depends on how the season progresses, who gets left out of which teams and where we finish in the league. Targets would totally change if we are in the Champions League, for instance a player such as Alexis Sanchez would be a possible if we were. Messi doesn't like him, though he has tried to fight for his place, it would be no surprise if Barca used him to raise funds.
On the other hand, if we are not in the Champions League we would have to look at players less advanced in their development or from lesser countries, in footballing terms. Or paying through the nose for players already in the English leagues, but for clubs which didn't qualify for the Champions League. Maybe pick up someone like Ruben Pardo, as Sociedad need money.}

Let's set this up.
Liverpool finish the season in the champions league spot and give you the responsibility to improve the Liverpool squad for next season.
You've already said you would go for Alexis Sanchez, are their other targets you would go for to improve this squad?

{Ed001's Note - I would go for him, or return to try and complete the deal for Konoplyanka. A lot depends on the budget, if we could meet the asking price, I would go for Sven or Lars Bender (I forget which is the defensive midfielder out of them two!), failing that, I would try and convince Spurs to sell me Sandro. Left back would be Moreno if money allows and he would be interested, if not other options could Alex Sandro, Ryan Bertrand (who looks likely anyway), Bruno Martins Indi or Gabriel Silva. I would want to spend a lot more time looking at players in each position to be sure though, as these are just off the top of my head.}

Essentially, you want a winger, a defensive midfielder and a left back. Interesting choices, quality players.
I think full backs are Liverpool's biggest problem in defence.
I would look at Alvaro Moreno, Ben Davies, Ricardo Rodriguez or Alex Sandro for left back.
As well as Matin Montoya, Nathaniel Clyne, Mattia De Sciglio or Danilo for right back.

{Ed001's Note - I don't rate Ben Davies at all, had a close look at him, after being told a few things, and I think he is very lazy getting back and lacks stamina. One game I watched he was barely able to get up after being tackled late in the match, he was shattered. That is no good for a modern day full back. Against Spurs I think it was. He just doesn't look fit enough, plus he doesn't look like he can be bothered unless he is going forward.}
