Hi eds, just wondering if we are or ever shown interest in pato?, wots his situation at Milan n how much would he cost, were Milan ever interested in big ac n if so why didn't we negotiate a swap wiv pato, as he would b ideal for us good tekkers, pace, great in the air for a small guy and has some skills up his sleeve
Would love feedback on this
Cheers {Ed001's Note - no interest, he is not very good, injury prone, is not interested in moving and his wages are too high.}

Milan have been shopping him for nearly three years now. Not one of the coaches sinc carlo has been interested in him.

Hey eds,
is there any interst in shane long? or is there any real interest for gary hooper or sturridge in january? is the llorente and huntelaar rumours bs?
and what is the situation with theo walcott at the minute? is it really because he wants to play striker, or is it a money issue, as i fear it is. if it because he wants to play striker, we have a chance of possibly getting it, but if it is wages, i just dont see us giving him more than arsenal have offered
Thanks

JamieLFC {Ed001's Note - not that I know of, but Rodgers wouldn't need to scout him as he had him watched all last season for Swansea, so difficult to be sure. Yes, unfortunately there is real interest in Hooper and Sturridge, neither would be my choice. Llorente is being priced out of a move, Huntelaar I know of no Liverpool interest. Walcott says striker but it does very much seem to be money, as he would just refuse a contract, not ask for more money.}

Ed001, who would be your first choice ? Amongst the names mentioned only hooper looks like a decent choice to me in a few matches I've watched him play ..not exceptional but ok for 6-7million..
I would like Luis muriel (Columbia ) though.. any interest from us in him?
Any chance of higuain or Villa on loan ? {Ed001's Note - no chance of either of those on loan. If we were buying from Celtic, I would go for Watt, who I believe we also have interest in. Other than that, not sure, I haven't seen anyone who really stood out recently, I mean other than the well known names who would cost ridiculous money.}

Hope not Hooper, looks over weight

How can Llorente be priced out of a move , if nothing happens by 31st January , he waits for a few more weeks then moves for nothing .

I don't understand this comment , the player holds all the aces . {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Juventus, Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal. Chelsea dropped there interest and I suspect that other clubs would be scared of by a transfer fee of more than £25M. There is a very good chance that he will move next year although there are talks continuing with Juventus over a January move, with the interest from Arsenal ramping up. I would suspect that he will end up at one or the other clubs.}

Hooper is not the world class striker we are looking for but he is the striker who is in the right place at the right time and scores easy goals,look at the amount of draws we have had over the last few years this tells me we need a player like hooper who at 6-7 million would be a snip in my eyes

Ha Shane long

Eds do you know how many years Suso's new contract is for? Just wondering, because it doesn't specify on LFC.com. {Ed001's Note - I am trying to get it confirmed, I think it was for 5 years.}

Ed001 I rate Suso as the best young talent we have had for a long time and I rate him probably more effective than Sterling at the moment. Not saying that Sterling is not effective. Let's hope Suso adds goals to his game. But a great day for LFC.

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - I think he is the gem too.}

He wrote on twitter it was only 3 years {Ed001's Note - that would make more sense, explain why they just said long term.}

Targets for January: Heung-Min, Ter Stegen and Mertens. The rumoured £40 mill budget seems true guys.

Ter Stegen won't come without regular football.. so that's a no.

Heung- min not for sale.

Nathan Redmond?

Liverpool are apparently going to take advantage of Redmond's contract talks at St Andrew's, the 18-year-old has stopped talks over a new deal.

Manchester City and Spurs are also watching.

DeLaRusso

And so, Nathan Redmond will likely go to Man City, where he will warm the bench until God knows when, Nasri, Silva or Sinclair become shyte players or worse yet get long injury layoffs??.

Its a two way race in my view between us and Spurs. I just hope we dont bottle up this one. We can certainly get him for the right winger forward role..

Do we need him?
Sterling and Ibe look as good if not better....

Redmond is a similar signing to Sterling, Shelvey and Suso. Don't get excited just let him settle in the U21/reserves. It's great that BR is tapping the quality we have in the back-up teams but as supporters we shouldn't put pressure on these kids before they are ready. Remember we signed Agger for close to 10M (with add-ons) and let him mature in the reserves for a year, now people are talking about him as a 30M defender.

Well he is English

Agger cost £6m.

He'll probably go to Manchester city and waste his early career look at Adam Johnson

ed 002 i no u said a few months ago we were not interested in Heung-Min from Hamburg as anything changed seen a few reports saying that br is thanks {Ed002's Note - A number of clubs, possibly including Liverpool, have been looking at Heung Min Son for the past year. Certainly Sunderland, Lille and West Ham have had him watched on more than one occasion. I would doubt he will be available for a January move.}

What about his dad

Cant say the source but I know a family friend of Gary Hooper who says he is desperate to move to Liverpool. It is now up to Liverpool to make the deal happen.

Its not up to liverpool its up to neil lennon if he wants to sell.

That's what happened with dempsey

Ha ha. We all know the pattern by now. Soon he'll be 'nailed on' then he'll be down at Spurs. Whoever comes in will face huge pressure to save our season.

"Its not up to liverpool its up to neil lennon if he wants to sell."

Neil Lennon cant do shyte about his transfer mate. Its solely upto the player first and foremost, and if as the poster says, Hooper is dying to join us then thats taken care of.
Second decision is for the club it self and by that i mean NOT ONLY THE MANAGER but also the owners and so on. If they see a profit in his sale, they will do so, regardless of what Lennon says...Cheers mate

I'm also desperate for a move to Liverpool.

Ash

Can say the source its me i am desperate for a move to Liverpool. It is now up to Liverpool to make the deal happen.

Eds,
1) Have Liverpool look at Josip Illicic for potential long term Gerrard replacement?
Loves the way he played. Like Gerrard, also love to shoot outside penalty box, got skills, and he's left foot.
Hw much his value this day?

2)Are we still in the market for winger? I know we already got Suso & Sterling but we still need experienced winger. We still interested in Arda Turan? Would love to have him at Anfield.

3) Eds, do u know when Lucas will be available? Has he done light training already?

Thanks Eds.

Jimmy'LFC {Ed002's Note - (1) Both Milan clubs and Juventus have an interest in Ilicic but Inter are favourites if he does come up for sale. England seems a unlikely destination although Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have looked at the player in the fairly recent past. (2) Assaidi arrived in the summer, so probably not a priority. (3) In about 6 weeks time.}

Question for everyone including the eds.

Why do we need a replacement for Steven Gerrard, when i believe we already have it in Jonjo Shelvey.

Ed002 i saw u say arsenal are interested in adrian. Do you think we might become interested, he fits the system and is not too expensive? {Ed002's Note - I thought that although Adrian Lopez was of interest to Arsenal but with Podolski and Giroud arriving I interest would have waned but it hasn't. Spurs also showed interest in the player but their bid was rejected. As far as I know there has been no interest from Liverpool.}

Met a fella today who is a relative of Matias Fernandez (Chilean international plays for Fiorentina). I wasnt aware of this but he told me today that Alexis Sanchez's favourite club is Liverpool....he also said that Sanchez made himself available to Liverpool before his move to Barcelona. Why a deal didn't happen isn't known but it has made me think maybe there are some legs to the rumored loan deal for Sanchez in jan.

This is all factual, i honestly had never heard of Matias Fernandez until today.

18x5x

I don't think the Sanchez rumours are as far-fetched as many people think. He doesn't feature that much for Barca , and Liverpool are still a huge draw on the continent.

JR

Sanchez sweet feet sharp brain would love to see it,you never know in football eh?
Paisley's genius

Never gonna happen, we havent got the money, he is a united fan and i dont think hes the answer to our goalscoring problem

You 'bump' in to loads of Chilean people in Liverpool ! What a load of shi*e!

Where does it say he met him in Liverpool? He could have met him in Chile for all we know.

"Never gonna happen, we havent got the money, he is a united fan and i dont think hes the answer to our goalscoring problem".

Where on earth did he say he say he is a "Man Utd" fan, i can also say that he is NOT a Liverpool fan, but please, if your a Man Utd and i think you are, then please stop trying to spout your rubbish here... {Ed001's Note - Alexis Sanchez is a United fan.}

To the people saying Sanchez is a united fan, you guys (ed01 aswell) are absolutely wrong. His dream growing up was to play for Liverpool, I'm not sure if it is still the case though.

I am from Australia, not Liverpool by the way, and the fella I met IS Chilean and IS Matias Fernandez's cousin. He talks to Matias regularly and when I mentioned to him I followed Liverpool after talking about football for a bit, the first thing he said was "you know Alexis Sanchez"? I said yeah,
He then said "He could have been playing for Liverpool before he went to Barca, he actually offered himself to them". I mentioned we have been rumored with a loan deal in jan. And he then said "you's have a pretty good chance seen as though he loves the club".

I have no reason to make this up. It's what i was told from a source very close to Sanchez. Couldn't give a rats if nobody believes me either.

18x5x {Ed001's Note - Alexis Sanchez said himself, while at Udinese, that he is a United fan. Stop dreaming, you are talking nonsense.}

I'd like to know why a relative of mati fernandez would know so much about Alexis Sanchez? Just cos they play together for chile ? {Ed063's Note - They would probably be good friends mate}

Ed01 is talking out of his ass if he thinks Sanchez said he is a united fan when he was at Udinese. He grew up supporting liverpool. Get off the crack ed01

Jimred {Ed001's Note - Sanchez believes he is up to the task of showcasing his skills at a bigger club, be it in Italy or abroad, and has revealed that the Theatre of Dreams would be the perfect stage. “Manchester United has been my dream all my life and they would be my first choice”. That is a direct quote from the lad himself. Now run along little boy, because you have just been owned.}

Not saying I disagree ed because I agree but being a fan counts for nothing, carra was a blue and it's happened many other times as well.

However think you're right Sanchez won't be coming on the basis that he simply wouldn't want to swap title challenges and champs league for a team which is rebuilding

Liverpool Fc will look to loan none other than Gonzalo Higuain from real madrid on a 6 month deal.. You heard it hear first :D {Ed063's Note - God I wish this were true}

Eds as u have previously said before Higuain is available if some one comes up with 30m euros which is £24m GBP, with Madrid actively seeking Falcao it could mean the sale of Higuain to part fund the move, surely he would be interested if we made a bid of around £22m, him Suarez and Sterling as a front 3 would be devastating.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Higuain was offered to another English side last year for 48M euros. If Real Madrid were to make a move for Falcao then it is likely that Higuain would leave. I really don't see a move to Liverpool happening in January though.}

Higuain. is. the. player. liverpool. needs.

I thought you couldn't loan two players from the same team? I could be wrong though, if so then this would be a cracking signing.

LeeC

Higuain a boss player

Please Happen xxxxx

Muggitzo

You can sign two loan players from the same club as long as you have an option to buy on one of them.

I have heard that we do have money at our disposal for January and it is significant. We already know 3 of the targets in Hooper, Walcott & Sturridge but expect a household name that is not English. I am not sure exactly who it is but he is worth over £25 million. This is what I have been told.

Must be Elmo

Cool. That narrows it down to a couple of hundred players. cheers for the top secret info

Liverpool need to sign
nathan redmond
gary hooper
danimiao(brazilian)
ogbanna

sell
joe cole
stuart downing
pepe reina

Id love us to the above players but if Reina goes we need Ter Stegan.

If Walcott arrives I'll give up on life. He's pants.

Scouse_Pride, was it John, Tom or Ian who decided to 'let you in on' our January transfer business?

Heard that one before
