Eds with Feyenoord apparently interested in Assiaidi could we possibly use him in a player plus cash deal for De Vrij? I know he recently signed a one year extension and when we last enquired we found the fee too high.

Taking into account we seem to have lost interest in Alderweireld and Papadopulos for various reasons would the fact we could use Assiaidi in the deal make us review our offer for him?

Do you the roughly what fee they are looking for for him?

Also Moreno of Seville young Spanish left back in recent tournament do we hold any interest in him? With Sevilles money problems we could possibly get him for a nominal fee as competition for Enrique.

If Digne was an option then surely Moreno would be too.

And finally apologies on the length has there been any progress in Banega moving to anyone? I still think he's a bargain for the reported 8 million fee he is available for.

Thanks Eds.

Jonesred {Ed001's Note - well we could certainly try, but it is unlikely to happen. I have no idea what kind of fee they are looking for.
Moreno is not a player I know of any interest from us in, I did give a list of left backs a while back, but can't remember him being one of them anyway.
Nothing new on Banega, there are some off field issues, which are why they want rid and interest has been scarce.}

Believable7 Unbelievable4

If either Coates or Skrtel leave this window I don't think we should panic buy another centre half, Wisdom and Kelly should be able to fill the role if required and fit.

However, if both leave, the club should look to invest!

Any interest in Alberto Moreno of Seville. Young left back who could provide competition for Enrique. Could be available for roughly 6 million.

Think Moreno and one of Alderweireld or Papadopulos would be the defence sorted.
Think we can expect to see both Coates and Skrtle leave this window, so at least two players are needed.

This would leave us with Agger, Alderweireld or Papadopulos, Toure, Enrique, Johnson, Kelly and Moreno.

In midfield still hoping we bring in Eriksen and Banega who would both be available for a combined fee of 23 million. Both quality players and still young. Eriksen could essentially take Downing's supposed role on the left with ease, and Banega offers passing and tackling.

I think in midfield we will sell Spearing, Shelvey, Downing and Assiaidi.

In attack I can see Suarez and Pacheco leave. Already we have sold Carroll. Seems as though Mkhitaryan is the direct replacement for Suarez.

Peter Guy of Liverpool Echo saying a fee agreed with Donetsk for Mkhitaryan.
Got this info from News now site which has a link to Guy's article.
Make of it what you will.

Believable48 Unbelievable20

Peter Guy is a music correspondent at the Echo! lol

Agree1 Disagree2

Much as I wish this was new, his source is the Russian paper Sports Express, where all the Mkhitaryan fee agreed malarky has been coming from the past few days. I've got my fingers crossed. And my toes. And even a hair or two.

Agree1 Disagree1

That's just the rumour mill mate! Scouserseb

Agree1 Disagree1

I've just been looking at this, he just seems to reiterate on the Russian news article that was published a few days back. Hope its true but not entirely convinced

I've just read that too. Is it just a re report on what was said on Friday rather than actual news?

These journalists must be fecking lazy :D

You got it from the Echo Rumour Mill round-up. They are not reporting anything new.

A tweet from Russian football journalist Alexey Yaroshevsky yesterday claimed, “Henrikh Mkhitaryan WILL be a #LFC player in the next 72 hours, pending medical and official confirmation. It is a statement that could easily be dismissed as just another reporter making a 50/50 claim, if Yaroshevsky wasn’t the man who broke the news of deals for both Fernandinho and Willian in the past.

The tweet was over 72 hours ago.

Any EPL teams interested in either Ariel Borysiuk, Neal Maupay? Also has Kurt Zouma completed any move to, what I believe the favorite to sign him was Anzhi? I took my eye off the story for a while. Cheers eds. {Ed002's Note - No (to all).}

Hi eds can Liverpool use shelvey as bait to land ashley williams? {Ed002's Note - I am not sure "bait" is the right word but perhaps Liverpool could offer JonJonJo and a little money to see how Swansea react. Of course, that won't work so well if Liverpool don't want Williams. Additionally, JonJonJo has been practicing his Polari readying himself for a move back to London.}

Is Martin Skrtel going to be sold this summer?
Is Daniel Agger going to be sold this summer?

I only ask because it looks like Liverpool will sell Sebastian Coates and buy Tiago Ilori and that will be it for our defence.
Is there other business to be had for Liverpool's defence this Summer transfer window? {Ed002's Note - If one of them leaves then yes - hence the club looking at other centre backs - this has really been done to death.}

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Do you think Matin Skrtel or Daniel Agger will will be sold this summer?

Tiago Ilori looks to be the replacement for Sebastian Coates.
Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Toby Alderweireld are considered over priced.
Micah Richards appears to have no interest from Liverpool.
Who are the defenders Liverpool are now looking to sign?

I'm sorry to be doing this to death.

Agree0 Disagree0

We haven't had a bid on a Skrtel yet so surely that dictates what LFC are willing to pay for a replacement. If Rafa bids 10-11m for Martin we will know what we have in hand. We need some sales before more purchases.

Agree0 Disagree0

We've purchased four players in the quickest time possible to get four players, it's a long summer, the only player that has left the defence is carragher and has been replaced through toure, we have Martin coming back, why on earth would we sell one of the best young up coming right back/centre backs by a mile! And in my opinion considering the only bit of movement or flair was limited to a very small group, Enrique had a very good season and when his self moral is good he is an excellent player. Liverpool need to strengthen their midfield to ease the pressure off everybody. Two more quality midfielders would make the difference between Liverpool trying to catch arsenal Tottenham and Forgive me for sayin it but Everton. Another point is, should the whole club keep the foot down on Suarez staying put? In my opinion I would love if we had him for one more season, our depth in attackers with quality and a threat would be immense. Open for debate?

Orite Eds, any chance of Stefan de Vrij? {Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle last summer and a number of clubs have taken a look at the player this season including Spartak Moscow, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. I understand that Liverpool spoke with Feyenoord about the availability of the De Vrij and a suggested figure was well above what they would consider paying and no offer was made, although interest remains. Chelsea and Manchester United both have interest in other centre backs and seem unlikely to consider the player further. Advice to the player from somebody very well respected in the game is to stay where he is until the right move comes along and to remember he is club captain where he is and should not move anywhere to find his opportunities of playing are reduced and he is sitting on the bench.}

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Thats the 3rd centre back we've backed off from due to the price after alderweireld and papadopoulos. Are there any more affordable options we are looking at?

Eds any word on M'Vila at Rubin Kazan? Was shocked when he moved there. Figured he'd be up for a more competetive league. Any change he'd move to the PL and in particular Liverpool? I just think having another CDM can only be a good thing. Not saying Lucas was poor last season but we definately lack depth in that position.

Aussie Red {Ed002's Note - M'Vila will be moving to Anzhi Makhachkala.}

What are our chances of buying Ciaran Clark or Steven Caulker for central defender; and Victor Wanyama or James McCarthy for midfilder? {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in these players at this time.}

Believable4 Unbelievable14

Ciaran Clark is nowhere near good enough for us. I'd like Caulker, I'd like Wanyama and McCathy is good and will be very good but we don't need him he should go somewhere like Everton especially with Martinez there now.

ive read somewhere that we've rekindled our interest in werder bremens elijero elia? any truth to this? I know we had interest when h played for juventus, so is this just a recycled rumour? {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any confiremed interest in Elia from Liverpool at this time although enquiries were made by Saloniki and Kayseri Erciyesspor - but, as of a few days ago, no offers have been submitted for the player.}

hi ed if suarez leaves. is there any interest from Liverpool in benteke or higuan {Ed002's Note - Not in Higuain. Liverpool enquired after the availability of Benteke about a month ago but have since purchased Aspas.}

Believable3 Unbelievable8

01 Jul 2013 13:43:53
Eds,

I am hearing that Real Madrid are looking at Jovetic or Suarez not both. I have heard they prefer Jovetic because he is about half the price. They want to keep te money to try and get Bale but they are unable to move any of their surplus players for the money they want. Therefore their budget is smaller than they expect (because also their banks namely bankia (ex Caja Madrid) are not in a position to help finance the buys).

Also hearing that Atletico are close to getting Negredo as a replacement for Falcao. With them happy with Diego Costa I do not believe they will go after Suarez.

Therefore with None of the Spanish clubs taking him and probably none of the Italian Clubs with the money (Juventus have Llorente and Tevez), I am guessing that would leave Suarez with Bayern, PSG, Monaco and maybe the Russian clubs with the money available to buy him.

Is there now becoming a bigger chance that he may have to u-turn and stay? Also I am wondering whether Rodgers really wants Suarez. If he plays 4-3-3 then the three up top appear to be Sturridge, Coutinho and Mkhitaryan (if he signs).

Orrin {Ed002's Note - There remains interest in Suarez from a number of clubs, but sensibly, I think we can discount Juventus.}

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Do you think Bayern might act on their interest Ed? Haven't heard much talk about them making a move for a while now {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If we keep Suarez a front 3 of Aspas Suarez Sturridge with Coutinho and Gerrard behind and Lucas holding Sterling Hendo and Suso as back up.
And if we get Mkhitaryan aswell he can take interchange with either Aspas Coutinho and Sturridge. World class attack!

Agree0 Disagree1

Orin I agree with you, If Real look elsewhere the chances of Suarez staying are much improved. Barca is a non starter (Neymar is on board and their priorities now are defenders). Atletico would never pay £40m and are far less attractive than Real or Barca (Negredo seems to be their choice). None of the Italian club are likely to £40m for Suarez. This leaves money bags in Russia and France or Bayern. Russia and France is not a serious footballing destination and so if Real leave Suarez high the only real alternative for Suarez may well be Bayern. If Suarez moves to Bayern he can kiss goodbye to ever playing in la liga. He may very well come to the realisation that his best option is to give us one more year and see where the land lies next summer. Whilst its risky for LFC to keep him as he is one munch away from getting a 20 game ban and halving his transfer value, I believe he would be on his best behaviour next season as he would not want to risk missing the world cup or being unfit for it through suspension. Reality Red {Ed002's Note - Atletico have the funding in place with third party investors. Interest also remains from Manchester City and Bayern Munich, and as I explained a week or so ago, now France.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't see LFC selling to ManCity Ed.
Perhaps Bayern if they become interested althogh I think its unlikely if they sign Lewandowski. {Ed002's Note - It does not mean that there is not interest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's, I agree with you with regard to Atletico having funding available from Azerbaijan, however Atletico are looking for a replacement for Falcao. Atletico are looking for a Number 9 not a number 7 type. that is why they are looking at negredo, Soldado and Osvaldo.

Suarez is not that type of player. he is similar to Diego Costa in that regard. I would ask Atletico for Diego Costa if they tried to buy Suarez. He is a flying machine and he was the reason Atletico Madrid were 3rd in La Liga last season as after christmas Falcao was absolutely pants.

Orrin {Ed002's Note - This is nothing to do with Azerbaijan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Jovetic or Suarez? No contest

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be so quick to write off City, personally. I'm pretty sure 200k+ per week would allow Suarez to overcome his fear of posing for photos with the locals and they clearly need replacement(s) for Tevez and possibly Dzeko. {Ed002's Note - The story about the photograph was not true. When questioned about the timing of it Suarez said it was a "dream" (or whatever) his wife had.}

He didn't say they couldn't afford it.

Actually think the second point he made here is more relevant, and surely not up for debate?

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance he could or will move to another EPL club. He hats the media and this is his reason 4 leaving LFC so come on eds drop man city from the equation

The fee was a little highr than that - other clubs had made offers but D Kiev came in with an offer that met the asking price and the deal for the player as very good which meant the deal went through very smoothly.
