Ian Ayre will meet with Barcelona officials tomorrow in London to discuss the respective transfers of Luis Suarez and Alexis Sanchez.
This will be the first official talks between the clubs about Suarez but it is understood both sides believe the Uruguayan's future lies at the Nou Camp.
Liverpool want Sanchez as part of any deal and Brendan Rodgers sees him as a vital member of a Suarez-less new look attack.
Liverpool value Sanchez at roughly £30million and Suarez at £80million.

Sanchez and £50m for Suarez will help ease the pain

I'm not sure with others, but if it is up to me, I would straight away sell even if it's less than 50mil.

Thank God its not up to you

@Haizan - luckily it's not up to you. Club won't sell him so low, even after his biting, they know they'll still be able to get at least £65mm cash I'd expect. Would you sell me £100 for £70?

Ian Ayre. Doh! We'll walk out with £10m and a 'lucrative' preseason friendly
Agree1

Ayre jokes are old. If our transfer crew get Sanchez and between 25 to 50 million euros cash for Suarez right now, when he can't play for the first few months, he's a genius. Suarez is an excellent player, but I have no doubt we could exceed last year's SQUAD with an injection of cash like that and a similar talent to Suarez. We could bring in an additional striker and at least one defender off the back of that and lose very little in attack. We already score at a blistering pace, just need some tweaking in a few roles. I wouldn't be at all angry if we took straight cash in the deal but I can't see past Sanchez as a replacement.

According to a newspaper Ian Arye will meet with Barca guys in London on wednesday to discuss LS transfer and that we will insist on Sanchez as part of the deal.

Expect Ayre to sell the Suez canal n try n sign Hugo Sanchez instead. nail biting times.

{Ed002's Note - I feel sorry for Mr Ayre who is no doubt making a lot of effort to bring in players the club wants to improve the squad, but has fans like you turn on him in the same way as others have turned on Lallana and the like. Pretty pitiful really.}
01 Jul 2014 19:54:47
Rumours of Mario Balotelli as Luis Suarez replacement? Surely not! Balotelli has undoubtably talent, but IMO would be a far more disruptive player than Suarez.
Would prefer the club to look towards other top strikers such as Falcao or even likes Gunners looking a false no:9 like Muller.

Iceland have put a 40 quid price tag on my head and I'm not sure Liverpool could meet that

Far more disruptive than Suarez?! Is that even possible? Don't get me wrong I don't want us to go anywhere near super Mario but at least he'd be available every game and not banging on about how he's always dreamt of playing in Spain
Agree1

Other the the bites, which I agree are unacceptable, Suarez was a model pro hence end of season awards. Super Mario causes disruption everywhere he goes. Call Robbie Fowler out of retirement :)

Eds what are our plans for Glen Johnson?
Believable23
Unbelievable6
{Ed001's Note - he is available for transfer, but it is likely he will see out the final year and then go. His wages are sky high for a right back.}
01 Jul 2014 20:41:10
There's always 'Arry and QPR, Ed!
Agree5
Disagree0
Yeah hopefully 'Arry comes in for him!
I recall the Liverpool echo said some weeks ago how Johnson's contract had some sort of clause in it which meant his wages came down once in the final year of his contract. Was that true?
They went on to say it would perhaps give him the kick in the arse he needs to up his game, well in words to that effect anyway!
Agree1
Disagree0
@Irishkopite - I thought that post was more along the lines of hopefully he'll realise he won't get that money again so he'll play out of his skin to try to win a new (and still very good) contract?
@DP - unfortunately I can't see Harry going for a RB, Danny Simpson and Nedum Onuhua already there.

Why Liverpool don't make any statement about Suarez possible exit? Do we prepare for the next season without him? Thank u in advance
Agree1

{Ed001's Note - why would we?}
Because, remember last season, when Arsenal tried to sign him, Rodgers and most of the Liverpool's representivs went out with statement we won't sell Suarez at any prize! Now it's so quiet!

Hi Eds
where is the "serious" interest coming from for Alexis Sanchez?
And is Alsexis Sanchez interested in going to that particular club?
Does BR / The club still have any form of interest in him at all post the inevitable sale of Luis Suarez?
THankd again in advance Eds

{Ed001's Note - Juve but they are not even close to a deal with Barca.}

Hello Eds. Just read United are lining up a £30 bid for William Carvallo. Do you know if we're still interested in him and would he justify that sort of fee? Cheers.
Believable12
Unbelievable3
{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, they are the only club likely to bid for him at the mo. I don't know how you can quantify that. He is an excellent player in a position they are desperately short of players for. For them, just like in the case of Shaw, he is worth the money. You can't really judge on just cost alone.}

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any bid, there has been interest, which led to talks, but as far as I can find out no bid as things stand. Now the Lallana deal is wrapped up and Can will be today or tomorrow (all being well so fingers crossed), I would expect some movement on other targets.}

Hi eds, would you have any firm interest on players likely to leave? Moses and cissokho gone along with Alberto and who else? Aspas, sokolik, coady, jones, adjoran, coates, lucas? Enrique? Suso? Thanks. I know this is your busy season today!
Believable6
Unbelievable2
{Ed001's Note - Aspas has interest from Spain, I forget who off the top of my head, but someone like Valencia.
Sokolik has gone, signed for Yeovil.
Sheff Utd made an offer for Coady, it was rejected. They were interested in either loan or perm, but loan we want a higher level, perm they didn't offer enough to tempt us to part with him.
Jones is likely to stay.
Adorjan has had little interest yet, but it is still early.
Coates has been away so no talks were held as we were hoping he would play and up his value. He is likely to leave, there was interest from Porto, I would assume to replace Mangala.
Lucas has longstanding interest from Napoli.
Enrique has little interest until he proves his fitness.
Suso has been dealt with repeatedly by Ed002, I only know he has been offered as part of some deals, but he has mentioned which deals, or deal it was.}
01 Jul 2014 09:52:01
Eds seeing that sporting have apparently made 3mil off for Ryan Gauld of Dundee, some some ago I remember that we and many other pl clubs were poised with offers for him, has that interest gone?looks a special player for his age

{Ed001's Note - not gone, just not one we are going for right now I am told. It is thought he would be better staying there for a couple more seasons. Not sure why that was said to me, when I have seen him, I have thought he looks to need a move to play at a higher level myself. Mind, I am not sure 3mil will be enough to get him.}
01 Jul 2014 08:02:55
Hi eds,
Not claiming to be the agent of the player but according to a relation of bertrand the deal is done and just waiting for him to return from holidays to finalise the deal

Man, if he joins just support the guy. I'm sure with Rodgers having worked with him before he has seen something he thinks he can get out of him to turn him into a really good full-back.
Agree2

I don't think people should worry too much, Bertrand will not be a starter. Flanagan did enough last year to cement that spot for this season, and Ryan can be used for some rotation in the cup games. as well as competition for places. He is a good young player with a lot of talent, and Rodgers is the perfect man to unlock it.
