Few reports saying ribery for 15m

Believable9 Unbelievable169

Hope not he isn't all that

Agree2 Disagree6

I hope not as well

Agree2 Disagree4

There was a time when we were known for our knowledge of football……. But not anymore

Agree2 Disagree3

Ribery will not be arriving at LFC but I have to laugh a people saying he's not all that. He is a very good player.

Agree2 Disagree1

People like you are a salesmans dream, u will believe anything and buy into it because engaging your brain is not possible! Think before you post dude its embarrassing!

French press are stating that LFC are in for Franck Ribery (31yrs) "There has been no mention of the potential fee but it is understood Liverpool are willing to offer players in exchange" No idea which players would be offered!

Sounds very much like lazy journalism, but you never know. Would you want him at our club?

Believable14 Unbelievable202

Em. yes!

Agree3 Disagree4

No thanks

Agree6 Disagree3

People are so negative on this site, he came third in balon d'or, can't be so bad can he!

Agree7 Disagree0

He is overrated. Overrated means overpriced.

Agree3 Disagree4

I highly doubt this link. Great player, but extremely unlikely.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah he came 3rd in Ballon D'Or. So?
Doesn't mean he will cut it in Prem. Crespo, Shevchenko, Eto'o, Morientes, Veron anyone?

hi editors,

papers are linking us today with roberto firmino. i checked him out on youtube and he looks talented but then again it's just youtube.
do you rate the player highly? are we interested in him? are there other clubs that showed their interest?

I'd imagine Alan Dzagoev would cost less than 25 mil. Possible alternative if Southampton don't budge Eds?

Believable13 Unbelievable49

{Ed001's Note - no idea.}

A newspaper are now saying that Liverpool are leading the race to sign Fabregas. It's probably just lazy journalism but we can always dream. YNWA

Believable17 Unbelievable136

What a nightmare! Ugh I couldn't sleep. I dreamed we were going to sign fabregas for 150k per week!

Agree0 Disagree6

I'd take him if Southampton don't budge

Am sure most would have seen this but Sky Soorts are reporting that Spurs will not be bidding for Lallana. Hopefully, they'll negotiate with us and make the deal happen but time will tell.

Believable20 Unbelievable18

{Ed002's Note - Why would they negotiate? They have said what they want. Pay it or move on. Clubs don't like to be screwed around.}

01 Jun 2014 13:25:53
move on I say, better out there for that price

Agree7 Disagree0

In that case, move on I say. Fantastic player but not at what Southampton is demanding. It's clear that we we have no intention of paying asking price, and rightly so in my view.

Agree5 Disagree0

It's a business transaction so there is always opportunity to negotiate. Players can be added, or loaned, or if the price is still not right then compromises can be made. I'm not saying they will be but of course it is possible.

A good player but a lot of money to pay.

Agree3 Disagree1

I understand that's not the case, as I understand it spurs are in talks they are willing to offer townsend (as I posted on here before) or siggurdson

Agree1 Disagree1

Ed2 there were reports that the 25 million bid for Lallana was our last bid. Do you believe that to be the case?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea.}

02 Jun 2014 11:00:02
Ed002 - Of course they will negotiate, that's business. They are at risk of alienating the club captain. The media are stating that they want £30m, I don't believe this to be true.

Take it as you please but I have heard the club have bid £22.5m, of which £5.5m will go to Bournemouth and another £5m available to Saints through performance based add ons. This offer is helpful to Southampton because they only have to give 25% of the up front figure to Bournemouth.This is the offer that prompted Southampton to grant LFC permission to speak to Lallana. Terms were, apparently, agreed quickly as the player is very keen to move.

Now, the fact that Saints allowed Liverpool to speak to the player says that they are either satisfied with the offer or they have been informed that we will pay what they are asking. Now the rumour is, they are happy with the amount but want more of the £5m available in add-ons to be up front as they want to clear £20m after paying Bournemouth. This is where the take it, or leave it £25m figure came from.

There is now £25m up front, so Saints will have to pay £6.25m to Bournmouth, with £2.5m available in add ons. Now, as much as the club have said they'll walk away. I don't think they will, just yet, as they know they are in a strong position with Lallana wanting the move, and becoming disillusioned with the Southampton board. after they wouldn't take his calls!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Are you suggesting that Liverpool have spoken to Lallana? And that Liverpool are working with Southampton to defraud Bournemouth. Spectacular stuff.}

01 Jun 2014 12:55:27
Hello Ed, Are Southampton interested in any of our players as part of any Lallana/Lovren deal?

Believable7 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hi eds

I saw earlier you said that Sevilla don't want suso, cash only, where does that leave negotiations? Are we willing to pay the full amount in cash?

I also saw this morning that barca have rejected bids from us, united and psg for Sanchez, sounds like rubbish to me but is there any substance to it?

Thanks

Believable7 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool needs to decide what they want to do. I am aware of bids from PSG and Juventus for Sanchez and a third party perhaps representing Manchester United. There have been lengthy discussions with Juve as Barcelona want to replace Fabregas with one of their players - but now look like they will settle on someone else.}

01 Jun 2014 05:21:11
Hi Ed002, are we interested in any defensive midfielder? Thanx.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Not explicitly although Emre Can has played in pretty much every midfield position.}

01 Jun 2014 10:44:41
Any reason a decision on the Lallana bid hasn't been made yet? Would of thought if it was not acceptable it would of been rejected straight off?

Does this mean it is likely being considered?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Southampton don't need to do anything - Liverpool are aware what Southampton want for the player.}

Have you found out any details about the bid yet? Did Liverpool match the valuation this time?

Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not offered what Southampton want.}

There has been some javi martinez talk

{Ed001's Note - no there has not.}

Sunderland want Borini on a permanent deal. Not sure about the fee they are talking about because we've basically told them that we want to keep him. As I said a few months ago Aspas is the one that will leave should we receive a decent offer, A shame really as the lad never really got a chance, but Rickie Lambert has basically signed which means Aspas will not even make the bench.

Great signing for Liverpool in Lambert for £4m, and also good business for Southampton. Really a deal that suited both clubs; although the fans would've preferred to keep him obviously.

I believe the Moreno deal will be done soon. The bid has gone down well with the supporters at least, who seem way too keen to get rid. Now I think of it a lot of them remind me a bit of Waro. The papers for once have got it right and fee is rough £16m.

Can is a different story. The interest is definitely there, at least one member of the Bayer Leverkusen board thinks the deal will happen. However I am still unaware of what the exact conditions of his clause with Bayern Munich is. I wouldn't expect this one to be completed soon, however in football things can change quickly. The main thing is that we're showing interest.

I can't shed any light on Lallana as my source hasn't been able to confirm anything. However as per the eds a new bid does seem to have been made and I have no reason to doubt them.

Lambert will definitely be the first bit of business but I will try and find out about the Moreno bid. I am having a problem with my main source at the minute as my main source is in Brazil and the difference in time means I can't really have a proper conversation with him as he's busy at the minute but I expect more info about Moreno soon.

Believable48 Unbelievable43

Saurez, sturridge, lambert and borini. So if all 4 are fit Suarez and sturridge for most epl games and important champions league games? Lambert and borini backup and for cup games with some epl games. question is will borini be happy to be 4th choice now?

Agree1 Disagree0

I believe Borini will be sold!

Can is way not what we need but has got talent,I'd prefer Rakitic/carlvho/masch to be our midfield.

Agree1 Disagree3

Vrcomp what is that based on, info or gut feeling?

Agree2 Disagree0

I wouldn't say that is a good deal for The Saints, as they will have to pay more to replace him,

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Jun 2014 13:47:46
I think what you're failing to consider is that players have a finite career length. So what could have happened is in 1-2 years time they get nothing for him and still have to replace him. Because they've decided to sell, if it goes through, instead of having to spend whatever on a replacement they now have funds to put towards those costs. It worked favourably for us because we need an experienced player to add another dimension against defensive teams. Chelsea for instance lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly I believe that Borini is far too good for Sunderland and I would like to keep him, even with Lambert coming in; all about depth next season, init? Moreno I will be over the moon with if it goes ahead and same with Lallana, even if the fee is inflated. After that I'd say we only really need a CDM (Emre Can) and maybe a winger, but even if Sterling doesn't light up the World Cup he'll quite possibly be our first choice winger so we might not a marqueé one. If there's any funds left over I'd be open to signing a decent keeper to backup/compete with Mignolet.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jun 2014 22:15:02
I said on February 2nd that Sterling would have to prove us not requiring a marquee signing in that position. He did well, that's not in question, but I don't think that he's ready yet to be relied on especially with the CL. In my dreams we'd try and go for sanchez, more realistically it'll be Shaqiri. It is not BRs intention to play Lallana on the wing (lack of pace) but for the 10 role so regardless of Lallana I expect us to try for a winger still.

The window isn't even open yet but Liverpool have made their intentions clear.

Agree0 Disagree0

So with that in mind Pistolero, do you think Lallana will push Cout out to the wing? Or do you think he will be there to nurture and provided competition for that coveted number 10 roll?

Personally I feel he could teach our less "physical" players how to use their attributes to maneuver around the brutes you can find now and then. He seems to be a nifty little player as my grandpa would say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lfcsam91 I am told Sunderland will make a determined effort this summer to make his loan move permanent.

We have signed a young lad for the academy who has been at Manchester United for 10 years. His name is Callum Nicholas.

Hello Eds, I was just wondering if there was any new developments with any potential Suarez saga?

I'll understand if you don't want to answer incase the boo boys come out to play.

Cheers.

Believable2 Unbelievable24

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation. Nothing has changed.}

There is something not quite right with all of this.
We seem to be in the market to spend a hefty chunck of money on players.

Suarez has said he is happy at LFC.

Yet his lawyer has come out and said if Madrid come calling he would find it hard to turn them down.

Whilst I hope to god I am wrong, there's a little voice in the back of my mind saying a VERBAL agreement is already in place for him to leave after the WC hence us looking to spend so much on the team.

Just my opinion, and like I say I hope I am wrong.

You know what Ed002.
Nothing surprises me any more.
Not in the footballing world any ways.
I just wish we could do all this transfer malarky the way we did with Lambert.
Hardly any one knew anything about it till it was almost completed.
If we can keep deals like that under wraps why is it not possible to do the same with some of the others?
