Skysports.com understands that Liverpool have made bid for PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen.

Sources in Holland believe that the Premier League Reds have tabled an offer in the region £9million to the current Eredivisie leaders.

The 24-year-old Sweden international has caught the eye of Roy Hodgson, as revealed by skysports.com earlier in the week, with the Liverpool manager looking to increase the attacking support for Fernando Torres

Also as many people already no Aqualani is being loaned out to gain some match time and to try and rescue his LFC career which Roy isn't ruling out. Also Kuyt is nearing the exit door and this is due to the SWP deal.

Liverpool Rumours
Toivenan will sign and be ready for the West Brom game.
Masch will go if the right bid is put in before the end of this window. A continginsy plan is in place to buy parker as his replacement.
SWP and Bridge will sign also at the end of the window with us getting the best possible price.
Huang wasnt as much of a publisity thing as people think he did look serious but the deal from Dubai looks the most promising.

Lets hope for:
1. A good steady season with a top 4 finish and people not getting to carried away with great expectations.
2. New owners that are sensible and understand the true value of our great club, not seeing it as a play thing.

Liverpool have made a bid for Ola Toivonen.

Aquilani set to go on loan back to Italy.

Dirk Kuyt -Ashley Young
Ryan Babel - Arda Turan
Alberto Aquilani - Rafael van der Vaart

Mascherano will leave. A new striker will be signed, possibly Toivonen. I'd throw the kitchen sink at Anderlecht for Lukaku but unfortunately I think his Chelsea bound.

Blair Mayne YNWA enlightened us at 20 Aug 2010 21:34:35:

"Great post mate!

That's excatly what i'm thinking i said weeks ago on the main Banter page "between all the bids the one that interests me is the Group that Keith Harris was representing"

He was asked on SSN who he was representing and he said "I will not disclose who the Group are unless they were sucessfull in their bid" This is a man who buys and sells clubs for a living and the Group he was representing are ticking all the boxes in terms of not doing it through the media.

BUT who is he rpresenting?"

Buddy, you have kept the faith, supported the unsupportable, followed the lost trail and been there from day one for the snake oil salesmen. As far as the Liverpool fans go, you are 100% number one on my list of straight-forward, when it goes horribly wrong I'll admit it and move on guys. You got over the "James 007" or whatever "we were sold on May 1 nonsense and moved on.

You were staid over all accusations I threw at you a few weeks ago and held your corner pretty well - and I have the greatest of respect for you. When you are old, I will buy you a beer.

Now you could perhaps maybe step back just a little and see the thruth about the Huang proposal. From day one it has been a non-starter. I am not saying I told you so or suggesting you go and read my old posts - but just step back. The Liverpool fans lamenting his withdrawal are doing exactly what he wants – hiving him credence for the future. If there is one thing you should maybe encourage your fellow fans to do is to move on from the whole Huang nonsense.

Sharkey.

Aquilani has gone on loan to get him regular match experience at a high level. It is an 'insurance policy'. Should all this takeover malarky go seriously wrong, Gerrard will leave. Both he and Torres have been made promises in order to stop them leaving. If those promises are not fulfilled they will walk and good luck to them. Aquilani will then be recalled to take Gerrard's place as first choice central attacking midfilder, match fit and match sharp.

And it is that simple.

Can people please stop talking about DIC taking over. They haven't been interested for ages. The man behind DIC, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is still interested though. So if 1 of the bids is from Dubai then that's who it's from. Sheikh Mo on his own, with his own money not via DIC.

They call me Cuban Pete. . . . .

Torres and Gerrard have informed the team of the transfer request if the team do not qualify for Champions League in 2011. So top 4 is now 100% a must.

Do not expect liverpool to sell unless a better replacement is going to come in.
I expect Ashley Young, L. Diarra, and another Striker to be brought in.

Outs: Masch, Kuyt, and Aqua will be loaned.

Sorry lads you are all talking s* te on this takeover. The Times journalist on SSN has said there was 1 bid on the table and that was from Huang. He has now pulled out. RBS will own us by October 1st and we will then be in administration and be forced to take 9 point deduction along with financial penalties. The selas of players will go towards paying the bank interest which will be £10m by the end of September. You are all mugs.

Liverpool Rumours
Liverpool are looking to raid City for Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge, Wright-Phillips and also Barry. Liverpool will try to get barry again because he will not have a part in the first team with yaya Toure and Silva recruited from Spain. Liverpool will also try to buy A.young now that O'neil has gone and also Liverpool are tracking the situation with Fulham Mid Clinton Dempsey now that he won't be able to get into first team with Gera and their new player Dembele.

Ed, what do you think?

()()

20 Aug 2010 20:55:04
Hi Ed. can you please please please print this. pretty please with liverpool red cherrys on top!

Can someone please explain why there's all these rumours of "monster Mash to inter once they get money from battoli(spelling) ?

I see 2 very big problems with this.
Correct me if I'm wrong but although all clubs are in debt (some far more than others) for many MANY years Inter have always invested heavily in the transfer market, always up there with the top spenders and some years even at the top (inc Real Madrid etc)! all this before they won their first scudetto! this year they have won it again (for the 5th time) plus also the champions league. and yet people are saying they need to sell before they buy! when every previous season they could easily splash 20-30 mil on a player. . yet now with an estimated extra 60+ mil from the scudetto and champs league. . . they need to sell too buy. . LMAO. . This is just excuses for why there has been no official offer recieved(from inter). .

I'll spell out the simple the truth out to you all. This masch to inter is just lazy journo crap just cos rafa went there and rated him. His wife and kids won't(or cant) learn another languge so feel isolated here as there natural language is. . wait for it. . . (drum rolls please). . SPANISH!
so unless rafa works his magic and changes every Italians language to Spanish then inter would be only a little better than England (since Spanish and Italians can have some very basic understanding of each other)

He is after a move to spain. namely Barcelona! Barca know "ALL" this and always pay low prices for players so are trying to get him on the cheap. .

Now since this is a rumour site i'll give you one. . the real reason purslow was in Madrid was to drum up bids for Masch from both Madrid clubs rather than having to settle for an extremely low bid from Barcelona knowing that liverpool promised last season to sell him (just like they did with with alonso when he stayed a year longer than he wanted after getting caught with his pants down)

Huang pulls out of takeover.

Ed, any ideas why?
{Editor's note - I have not heard why?}

Its obvious why, today is 20th August, it takes 10 days for takeover process with the Premier League. QSL & Huang wanted to complete deal before transfer deadline, they were never in a postion to make these demands, it was just a ploy to try to force the hand of the board into making a quick and possibly wrong decision moving forward. So you would assume that this offer was a no go from the start, but they felt it was in their best interests to try this tactic. No great loss as far as LFC are concerned. On a brighter note, it would appear that Toivenan is the man they want upfront, a £9milion bid has been placed, lets hope so. JF96 YNWA

I heard about this possible withdrawal from the Chinese consortium 2 weeks ago. I heard that the stumbling block was the fact the 2 Americans wanted a profit and Huang only wanted to pay the bare minimum for the club, hence his proposal to buy the debt which would eventually oust the Yanks. Don't expect this to be the last Liverpool hear of him. He really wants to buy Liverpool but now holds the hope that Liverpool cannot get sold to new owners and is hoping RBS will take control of the club in October and Liverpool will be easier to acquire than it is proving right now.

I'd like to know if the ED has any info on this?

20 Aug 2010 19:36:12
I have been a hopeful and optimistic supporter for a long time now but are things really looking up at Anfield? Benayoun has left, Mascherano is gonna go due to "Family Issues" Kuyt's agent says it's possible that Dirk could be going too, Aquilani is going out on loan? We have no natural wingers still, We have Lucas still in the squad who I think realisticly is not quality and not consistant enough. The Poulson signing is not long term thinking. We have 1 Star striker and 1 star midfielder, A top goalie and our defence is looking fine in terms of depth. But really with less then 2 weeks to go till the transfer window closes Roy hodgson should really be thinking about out strength on the wings and a world class striker. if Roy wouold of spent all the money on a top striker I wouldn't of blamed him. If the club is to improve in the League clearly our prioritys are a left winger, creative midfielder, world class striker and desent replacements for the players that leave.
Our 1st team:
Reina
Aurelio/ Insua
Agger/ Skrtel
Carragher
Johnson
???
Poulson
Gerrard
J. Cole/ Maxi
Torres
??/ Babel

Our other players can't be considered as 1st team players, they are either impact players or just squad players. Now take a look at the squad right now including the players that are leaving and tell me that we are a better team then last season. The fact is the replacements are out there and not that expensive. We'll see with the money left and the funds raised by selling out players what players come in to replace them. Joe Cole. . Good player but we need more then that to compete with teams that are growing fast each year. This takeover looks like it will be done during the season but if that's so shouldnt we be making sure by any means necessary that we are good enough to get a Champion League spot next season. Van der Vaart, Eto, Young, Banega, Turan, Calcido. These are the types of players that should be walking out onto the pitch at Anfield but there just rumours and I honestly think if we don't do something about this now then next season expect Torres and co to be leaving. I can't see Roy making big changes during his first season in charge. Expect big things to happen next season because its gonna be another long season at Anfield.
(Click believable if you agree)

It will and I repeat it will happen Aguero will sign for us by the end of the month. The deal has been set up as a condition from torres to stay a red. I can also reveal we will defo not be in the Market for VDV nor Ashley young, king kenny and Roy are keen to add only 1 more player and that will be Turan. The money will be available from the sale of masch and a season loan to Ath.Madrid of Pacheo. My source is very close to the club. Editor watch this space

Kuyt is going to inter to replace BALOTELLI. there are 2 reasons aquailani is going out on loan the 1st is he needs first time football and the 2nd inter can not find the full money for both kuyt and mach at the minute. they will buy mach in january and aquailani will be back in january. hodgson sees this a a good way to let poulson settle as it is to risky just to throw him straight in at the deep end. kuyt going will also free up space for turan coming in and cole will be moved out to the right wing.

I posted on here a few weeks ago that the reason why Christian Purslow was in Madrid was for 2 reasons, a holiday, and to discuss a move for a Real Madrid player but not Marcelo as a lot of people thought. It now looks as if the player could very well be Rafael Van der Vaart. The loaning out of Alberto Aquilani could very well be covered by the possible signing of Van der Vaart. The talks were also conducted by Purslow and Real officials when Benitez was at the club, without the consent of Rafa Benitez. My source has told me that VdV didn't want to join at the time as he was enjoying first team football at Real due to Kaka's injury. Now Mourinho has said he is available, Liverpool would be an attractive move for him. It is unknown whether it would be a loan move or a permanent deal, I would expect a loan with a view to buy for around £7m next summer. The loan fee would be covered by the loan fee Liverpool would demand from any club for Aquilani.

We all probably now know that the Aqua deal is done and that he will join Juventus on a season long loan, and they will pay his high wage. . even though he may be cup tied for Europe. .

You all may know now about Kuyt (£12.7m) and Mascherano (£23.4m) maybe joining Inter but we don't know how true this is. my friend has told me that someone close to him works as a reporter and has spoken to Roy Hodgson on this matter and he has said if this deal goes through he will get a world class striker which could explain rumours of straight swap of Mascherano for Eto'o and then he will spend the kuyt money on his replacement Ashley Young. . Baring in mind none of these players involved have played in European competitions to stop cup tieing. . Thanks GUYS!

Having trawled through all the roumors on this site this morning, one or two stand out that could possibly be true! Kuyt and mash to inter (niether played last night so they won't be cup tied if their moves happen)

Roy hodgson has said publicly kuyt aint for sale so if he were to sell expect over 11 million regardless of him being 30.
As for aquilani, i think you'll find roma are bigger rivals with Lazio and Inter who they have met in the italian cup final for the past 5 years not Juventus.
masch to Inter for 20mil and a part ex not sure who
if Man Utd want Charles Itandje then good luck to them, I'd love him to go there cos he would be a terrible signing.
4get Man City loan deals and use your heads will you, city won't loan to any1 who is in the top 6 teams in England, and potentially jeopardise their own league position, hence the Bellamy signing and sending Ireland to Villa

If/ when aquilani goes out on loan, do you think Roy could take advantage of real madrids clear out?

Van der Varrt, Gago and Lassana Diarra have all been made available for transfer/ loan

If Aquilani Does go out on loan, i would try and get van der varrt on loan.

And if Masherano Does Leave, i would try and get lassana Diarra.

In other news apparently we have been linked with santa cruz and wright-phillips, not sure if it was loans or to buy, or 1 in on loan and 1 buy

Hi ED
I don't know how reliable this rumour is, as it has come from a mate who works in the bookies, who got it from the stable manager at Chester Racecourse!?!?!
Aqua is being linked to a loan move away from Anfield so he can improve his match fitness and form for next season! But apparently the main reason is so Roy can lower the wage bill so he can bring in one or two players on loan from Man City.

As i say i do not know if this is true or not, as i know we have been linked with Shaun Wright-Phillips and Roque Santa Cruz and Wayne Bridge, just wondered what you thouth about this and if you had heard anything??

I think Kuyt will no longer be a Liverpool player this year has big rumours goin around with inter wanting him and masch too. I think will get either Daivde Santon or Sulley Muntari part of deal for Kuyt plus about 10 to 12 mil. Then masch deal will be straight cash for round about 25 to 30 mil. So if this happens that will giv Hodgson 35 to 42 mil and will also try for a world class striker hoping it's sergio aguero. But maybe hodgson will go for deals so he can bring more than 1 in. Players such has Remy, Nil Ranger from newcastle has he English n young looks promising 2. Gabby would be good signing 2. Before people say, I'm not stayin all this is true just what i would like 2 see. What you think ED. .
{Editor's note - I doubt you would get Santon and 12 million for a 30 year old.}

Kuyt's agent Rob Jansen told Voetbal International.

"Yes, there is real interest from Inter, but Dirk has not decided yet whether he does want to leave Liverpool. He must think carefully before leaving."

"This is also a complicated transfer. Dirk Kuyt is a Liverpool player, " he explained. "It is also an option that a player from Inter will be involved in the deal with Kuyt."

The point of loaning out aquilani is so he can gain regular first team action, therefore to get his match sharpness back. i'm guessing RH thinks that he can return back injury free with a fresh start.

I know this is what Roy said, but I'm wondering whether Roy hasn't made up his mind that Aqua isn't in his long term plans. In that case it still makes sense to loan him out to a top Italian club and then sell him off at the end of this coming season for much more than he would get right now.

My biggest concern is that having Aqua meant having cover for Cole so that Gerrard could remain as the mid-field general. Perhaps VDV will come in but I'm not sure that's likely, so who else could Roy have in mind? Using Maxi in that role perhaps?

If Kuyt leaves as well, I'm beginning to wonder if the Ashley Young rumour may well be true - something I didn't take seriously before.

Liverpool Rumours
I have it on very good authority that Dirk Kuyt, Alberto Aquilani and Javier Mascherano will all leave Liverpool BEFORE the end of the transfer window, and, as promised, all departing players will be replaced.

Dirk Kuyt will join Inter by Thursday next week. The fee is around £11million.
Javier Mascherano will also join Inter around about the same day as Kuyt's arrival and will join for £20million.
Alberto Aquilani situation is still up in the air at the moment. The loan offer is from Juventus who are Roma's most fierce rivals and he has a great relationship with the Roma fans and he knows by joining Juve, the fans may lose respect for him. He is holding out for a loan move back to Rome by may have to settle for Turin.

Now, onto replacements. I would expect the arrival, on loan, of Rafael Van der Vaart. Ferguson has already stated no more players will arrive at Old Trafford this summer and VdV has previously stated his desire to join the Premier League and singled out Liverpool and Chelsea as his prefered destinations despite what has been reported in today's media. He would be the ideal replacement for Aquilani on loan and I do believe he would be open to the move, but would prefer a permanent transfer to settle down due to his wife's recent fight with breast cancer.
Another Real Madrid midfielder has been lined up for a transfer to Liverpool, that is Lassana Diarra. Hodgson feels that Diarra, who is a combative midfielder would be an ideal signing to replace Mascherano and will cost around £10million.
Finally, Hodgson will settle the right wing position he desperately seeks to strengthen with the £15million signing of Ashley Young. He wants to add a young homegrown player to the ranks to boost the English quota at the club and although he has looked at Shaun Wright Phillips, Hodgson feels Young, and the current uncertainty at Aston Villa would be easier to pursue.

So to summarise, possible final in's and out's at Liverpool. .

Outs

Alberto Aquilani - Loan
Javier Mascherano - £20m
Dirk Kuyt - £11m

In

Rafael Van der Vaart - Loan
Lassana Diarra - £10m
Ashley Young - £15m

A striker and possibly a new left back.

There have been 3 very good offers on the table but I personally do not know the names of the parties involved or who has won, and I understand that the announcement will be the start of the takeover process, which will take at least 14 days to complete, so do not expect funds to be available in this transfer window.

"Regardless of the choice Dirk must first consider himself. He can move to Inter or just stay at Liverpool. This is a good position to be in, " he added.

"It is also an option that a player from Inter will be involved in the deal with Kuyt.". . .Great Great Great news for us. .I would take anything upwards of 6m for him personally but obviously we'll demand more. . and while i'm typing a duch reporter is saying on talksport that a deal between the player and Inter has been agreed but the two clubs are just finalising the deal. . £15m tends to be the average fee quoted - Lets hope its true !

THIS IS TRUE AND WILL HAPPEN - TO BE ANNOUNCED EARLY NEXT WEEK.

AND THE FEE QUOTED IS ALSO CORRECT - MANCHESTER CITY HAVE MASSIVELY OVERPAID FOR MILNER AND, IN THE REAL WORLD, HE WOULD ONLY HAVE GONE FOR £15M - PLUS, YOUNG WANTS TO MOVE AND WILL SUBMIT A TRANSFER REQUEST IF THE OFFER IS REJECTED.

Just a few opinions on rumours.
Wayne Bridge. Insua but worse.
Slow.
Can't defend.
Can't attack.
Awful in the air.
Tendancy to be sent off.

Shaun-Wright-Phillips
Too ambitious.
Tries things that he isn't capable of. E.G. Running past every full back he comes up against.
Small.
Weak.
Lacks goals and assists.

The Aquaman.
I think everyone is making to much of this situation of him being left out of the squad last night. Joe Cole was sent off against Arsenal and therefore is suspended aginst Man.City. Isn't Aqua being rested so he can play in that game with full fitness? Would be dissapointing if he was to go out on loan though. 23 games. 16 starts. 2 goals. 6 assists. Not awful for what was a player in his first season in the premiership not at full fitness. He has showed at the end of last season and in pre-season that he looks the £20million player.

Matty Taylor of Bolton could come in as a versatile player, who is English, strong for his size, attacking as well as good defending, can play left back, not our strongest area and can score spectacular goals! Cheap as £3million.

Just spoken with the brother in law who lives in Milan ref. the rumour Alonso is coming back to Liverpool - Sorry to say, it will not happen - The Madrid president has said players are for sale, but specifically stated that, due to the new rules (which apply all over Europe) about home grown players, no Spanish players will be allowed to leave.

Shame - However, on the bright side, he has heard that Liverpool (and a host of other teams) are after Van Der Vaart, plus Drenthe and Diarra are 'for sale' and we have been linked with both.

Why do people keep saying we do not need Van Der Vaart because we have Cole ! I think Cole is a very good signing (especially for a free!), but VDV is twice the player Cole is - Have you ever watched the guy play? - Unlike Cole, he plays the full 90 minutes and his overall work rate is double that of Cole.

Plus, VDV is a massive threat from set pieces - Free kicks and corners are top class.

We need him!

Someone has suggested Mach for Eto'o swap - I posted on here a week or so ago that this will happen, as Eto'o does not like Rafa's management style (or playing style) - Inter want Masch, Liverpool need another quality striker - Valued roughly the same - so why not !

Steven Pienaar is on his way to Anfield - He is entering the final year of his contract and shows no signs of signing a new deal with the blues.

He is very settles on Merseyside and would be very reluctant to move and, although Everton would hate to sell, they cannot afford to lose him on a free next year.

Spurs have had a £6m offer rejected out of hand, with the toffee's not looking to 'deal' at anything under £9m but Hodgson see's that as a bargain.

My source - Although a blue himself (can we trust him! ), he works for the club and is normally correct (plus he is very annoyed by the prospect)'

I have heard exactly the same (with the exception of the fee, which I heard was £12m) - Will happen on the transfer deadline day - My source is Stevens cousin, who also acts (jointly) as his agent.

Just heard that Dirk Kuyt is in talks with Inter Milan

This transfer could go through later on today as all the concerned parties are happy with the terms.

I like Dirk and his work ethic but we could do with more creativity on the right hand side of midfield

Kuyt was not rested last night - The club have agreed to let him go for the sum of £11m to Inter and, part of the deal, was that he was not cup tied for Europe (why else rest quite possibly the fittest player I have ever seen play after 3 games ! ).

The funds will be used to purchase Young from Villa.

Both deal will be revealed on Tuesday, at the same time as the new owners are announced (Please note, announced, this does not mean complete)

Who here would be happy with Mascherano in exchange for Eto'o, with no money changing hands? I would be happy with this personally. Then we could play a 4-3-3 with Jovanovic, Torres and Eto'o as our starting 3 with Ngog, Babel and Kuyt as our back up.

The rumour that Young is moving from Villa to Liverpoll is really hotting up - I am currently on a trainign course for work in Birmingham, and it is all over the local press and is the talk of the town.

£15m tends to be the average fee quoted - Lets hope its true !

I do not agree with Roy to loan out Aquilani out,
as he is a very good player, he just needs more first team football to get his game up again.
If you saw his performances on You tube i am sure you will agree with me. He will link up very well with Gerrhard and Cole.

With the arrival of Milner, Wright Phillips is now surpless to requirements at Man City, as is Lescott.

Liverpool will make an offer for both - Loan for Lescott and an offer of £5m for Wright Phillips.

But I do not believe City will sell / loan to immediate rivals (just look at Bellamy) - We will see !

Just seen this on goal.com.

Rafael Benitez's Inter agree deal for Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt - report

Inter have agreed a deal to take Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool to Serie A, according to a report from De Telegraaf.

The report claims that the move was agreed earlier this week and could go be concluded today.

Kuyt was omitted from Liverpool's Europa League win over Trabzonspor at Anfield, with Reds boss Roy Hodgson claiming that the Dutchman was being rested.

However, that omission means that Kuyt is not cup tied for European competition and it seems that he is heading for a reunion with former Liverpool manaber Rafael Benitez at the San Siro.

Benitez is a known admirer of Kuyt, and during his time at Anfield made little secret of the value he places in the hard-working and versatile Netherlands international.

No need for a ST as we have Torres, Ngog, Babel, Kuyt, Pachero, Amoo and Sterling (this boy is class)!Raheem Sterling is indeed class, but he is a right winger and is only 15 and won't be considered for the first team for a while yet

Oh dear. Much as I hate to quote from The Daily Excess (albeit, via Sky):

"I could never play for another club in Spain and the truth is that if you are leaving Real Madrid, there is only one club you can join that is not a step down - and that's Manchester United"

Looks like VDV has just scuppered any chance of joining Liverpool then. .

Aqua is leaving - But not on loan - I have it from a very good source that he will be returning to Roma, in exchange for: Julio Baptista 'the beast'.

Hodgson likes the fact the beast has premier league experience, he is big, strong, an excellent 'dead ball' exponent and, can play holding midfield, attacking midfield or forward - flexability that Hodgson loves.

No fee either way - Great bit of business if it comes off !

Morning Ed. Do you know whats going on with Aquilani. Didn't play on Sunday, not even on bench and the same last night. Is he being offloaded, injured or being saved for the City game as Cole can't play

Aquilani to leave LFC Yes/ No?

{Editor's Note: I expect Aquilani to go out on loan.}

I personally don't understand why Roy wants to put Aquilani on loan. In my opinion Lucas was horrible yesterday, couldn't get any passes through, and when he got the ball, lost it in a few seconds. I think that he should give Aquilani a chance to play in that position. What do you think ED?

{Editor's Note: I really cannot see Aquilani getting that many games.}

Hey guys as i said previously we could be in for A Young my source is an ex Aston Villa youth player! This will happen before the transfer window shuts he will be our last signing!
No need for a LB with Insua, Aurelio, Agger and Kelly!
No need for a DM as Poulsen, Lucas and Mascherano ( he will stay till next summer)
No need for a ST as we have Torres, Ngog, Babel, Kuyt, Pachero, Amoo and Sterling (this boy is class)!

We need a RW and A Young is the answer! i think the transfer will cost 20M but the guy is class! THIS WILL HAPPEN!

Aquilani to italy on loan.not good.no money from deal and no creative midfield.stevie and joe ok, but with inevitable injuries lucas, macsh and poulsen do not boost enough on the ball quality v the likes of your stoke's, fulham's, wigan's. we could (like last season) pay the price fo a simple lack of atacking quality. this is a prominant problem for the squad

This is what i found off the friends of liverpool website, about the Aquilani Situation

After tonight's frustrating, yet welcome win against Trabonspor of Turkey in which Liverpool won 1-0 but should have had two or three, Roy Hodgson was asked about the failure of alberto Aquilani to even make the subs bench for the second game running:
"At the moment we are considering loaning him to an Italian club.

"I didn't want to use him tonight in case the loan goes through because for Aquilani it's very important this year that he plays regular football, every week as the number one man on the team sheet.
"I can't promise him that here so if a loan move to Italy could help him in that respect it might be good for all parties. It would certainly be what he needs, it would certainly protect the value of the player and when he does return to Liverpool no doubt we will see the Aquilani that we signed before he came here injured last year."
Clubs interested in the 'little Prince' include Napoli mainly and although Aquilani's agent has denied it to date, it now looks likely that the diminutive midfielder may be on his way out of Anfield.
Signed by Rafa Benitez last season to replace Xabi alonso, the Italian struggled with injuries and it comes as no surprise that the new manager is planning to get shut of him.

Right i am a bit confused about the aquilani situation
- Roy says aqua might go out on loan
- but aqua's agent said he is staying put, and according to his agent, roy said that it is aquilani's year (that was what his agent said, but that was in a different article)
Can you shed some light on this for me please Ed?

IMO i think this would be a bad move, and for the first time i would disagree with Roy in sending the aquaman out on loan(my name for him hehee) because he could act as cover for gerrard and cole, incase they do get injured, and look what happened with keane, we sold him and then we needed him when torres started to get injured (the f.a cup game against everton for example) but on the other hand i must ask these questions

- Would he get first team football by staying at Liverpool? if he doesn't he surely could get first team experience with a run of games else were whether it be on loan or permanent

- also what if he becomes a hit at a italian team like napoli for example who are quickly becoming a excellent team, would he stay at the club he is on loan too or come back to liverpool?

also this may be off subject but kenny huang has brought in Peter Kenyon (who is a liverpool fan btw) to lead negotiations for huang and his consortium to take over the club, he wants the deal done ASAP so he an provide roy with funds to buy players, i also think if huang did take over kenyon would become our new cheif executive, which would be great!

So my questions for you Ed
- Can you shed some light on the aquilani situation?

{Editor's Note: His agent seems to have said that Aquilani will not be going to Napoli. There is still a final payment owed on the player plus add ons if vertain targets are met. This is in addition to the €7M installment we have just paid.}

-What do you think of my opinion on the situation?

{Editor's Note: You may be forgetting we have a lot of money tied up in a player who may only get a handful of games. The club have to consider cutting and running.}

-What do you think about kenyon, being brought in by Huang?

{Editor's Note: It makes no difference - if Huang can somehow get control the club will be motgaged to the hilt within two years.}

Thank You, Ed and my fellow Liverpool Fans
Harrison :)

Just been on the web site this evening and looks like aqua man could indeed be off on loan to italy. I like many other fans were wondering where he was last night and indeed it seems he is off. Seems we are also linked with a few of Man City players santa cruz and bridge. i DONT want either of these players maybe on loan i don't want to spend 16 million on these two players as our club site say's though it also said 13 million for fc twenty left winger. My Only question is were are we getting all this money from ?? After reading the paper this morning Roy dosen't want to let monster mash leave so he stay's and has two years left on his contract i for one wish he would stay. So if mash aint going, where is the money going to come from ED any suggestion's ?? got the feeling that something is about to happen ! ! although aint holding my breath {editor's note - I don't believe there is any money, which is why Roy gave Babel a chance as a central striker.}

Liverpool Rumours
From Soccernet.com earlier this afternon:

The agent of Alberto Aquilani has rubbished suggestions that the midfielder could leave Liverpool for a loan spell with Napoli. Franco Zavaglia told CalcioNapoli24.it: "Aquilani to Napoli? This news is absolutely unfounded. Every time someone dreams this up. Dreaming does not cost anything, but it is not a viable hypothesis. Aquilani is a Liverpool player and will remain in England. And his new coach Roy Hodgson says this will be the year of him establishing himself in the Premier League. I deny even the rumours of his return to Roma."

I *really* hope this is true!

Alberto Aquilani looks set for a loan move back to Italy

19 Aug 2010 23:58:09
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that he is considering the possibility of sending Alberto Aquilani out on loan in an effort to help him regain first-team football.

The Italian midfielder has endured an injury-stricken campaign last year after joining the Merseyside club last summer and has not enjoyed a regular run in the team.

Speaking after Liverpool's 1-0 win against Trabzonspor in the Europa League Hodgson confirmed: "At the moment we are considering loaning him to an Italian club.

"I didn't want to use him tonight in case the loan goes through because for Aquilani it's very important this year that he plays regular football, every week as the number one man on the team sheet.

It would certainly be what he needs, it would certainly protect the value of the player and when he does return to Liverpool no doubt we will see the Aquilani that we signed before he came here injured last year."

The former Roma man has previously been linked with a move to Napoli this summer, something his agent Franco Zavaglia denied.

Deals before the end of the transfer window are as follows:
INS
Ova Toivonen- will come in on the cheap because he is cup-tied.
Roque Santa Cruz- possibly on a permanent deal but more than likely to be on loan.
RDV will not join. He is not good enough! Look what he has done for Madrid! People say he will come in on the cheap as he is never played! Of course he isn't! He is cr*p! Woy know this!
No Wayne Bridge. City need him now as Aleksander Kolarov has gone out injured. He is slow, poor in the air, can't defend, can't get forward and too over-rated!

OUTS
Damien Plessis- to some French nobodies for about 1million.
Diego Cavalieri- to Cesena for about 2million
Nabil el Zhar- to Blackpool on loan.
Charles Itandje left last year so please stop saying he is going! He has GONE!
Ed what do you think? {editor's note - Itandje is still there mate, he only went on loan last year, no one wants him unfortunately.}

LFC will NOT sign any more players this window and maybe season as there is no need for another striker as babel will play there this season and it is becoming increasingly lightly that mascherano will stay.

But expect to see Diego Cavalieri move to Italy for a fee in the region of 3M.

Liverpool Rumours
Chinese businessman Kenny Huang is set to give up on purchasing Liverpool as he is frustrated with the lack of progress his bid for the club is making.

With current Reds owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett looking to sell the club, Huang is one of the parties interested in buying, and submitted an offer for Liverpool.

The Liverpool board is verifying that each perspective owner has the funds they have offered and are deciding which bid they will accept, with the bidder that receives the majority of the votes getting control of the club.

According to The Guardian, Huang is growing impatient as he hoped to buy the club before the transfer season ends so that he can provide Reds boss Roy Hodgson with funds to strengthen the squad.

No sh*t sherlock the world and his oyster have been aware of this through a multitude of media sources for the past SEVEN days. The simple fact of the matter is that however frustrating it may seem the Board of the club are the only ones who (a) Know what bids are under serious consideration (b) will decide who is the preferred bidder. However they also have a professional duty to ensure that it is the best bid available for all the stakeholders involved namely the Club, Banks and unfortunately the owners.

The bottom line is have a little patience and respect the fact that at last our linen dirty or otherwise is finally been laundered in house!

Mortk 2010. . . . . .
