Good evening Eds

Just wondered with the talk of Sanchez leaving Barca, just wondered are Barca willing to let him go? Is there many clubs looking at him? I know juventus have been mentioned, believe there was some mention of LFC if Suarez were to leave. {Ed002's Note - Barca will let him leave.}

Thanks Ed

do you see Barca selling a few players this summer to fund transfers? Think Sanchez looks a decent player not sure if we would be interested, but if he was willing to come would be a good acquisition {Ed002's Note - Yes Barcelona will be selling players.}

Does anybody actually rate him that highly, Barca would command around €20-25m for him. He's not that great in La Liga so does anybody actually see him succeeding in the Prem? You can throw the Coutinho argument in but he has undoubted natural talent as I'm sure many can see, Sanchez I'm not so sure about, I'd rather see us take a punt on Scott Sinclair or other young English player because at least they'll know what they're getting themselves into. {Ed001's Note - I rate him highly, he was sensational under Bielsa for Chile, tore apart many an opponent. Give him the right coach and allow him to play his game, then he will be a top player. He is not a good fit for Barca though, he would only fit there if he was allowed the Messi role and no one is going to drop Messi out of it!}

Ed 001, could you see suarez and sanchez playing together? and do you think it would work well unlike sanchez and messi at barca?
thanks {Ed001's Note - yes, no matter what the media say, we don't try and play like Barca, Sanchez would work well in our team, I believe. In my opinion, he would be the best upgrade possible this summer for the position Downing currently occupies in the team.}

Lol suarez will stay

Ed001, as you say you think he's the best upgrade to downing we could get. Do you think it's possible we can get him if we keep Suarez?
Thanks {Ed001's Note - hard to say, depends on what kind of money Barca are asking for really.}

"I am very happy at Liverpool but you never know in football, " he said in quotes picked up by the Liverpool Echo.
"A player’s ambition is always there, the ambition of wanting to play in elite teams is always there.
“I’m in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool. We have to realise we have a new manager who is imposing a philosophy and a way of playing that the players are adapting to as best we can. We hope that it will bear fruit next year.
“If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome.
“We would talk to the club, we would see if I want to go, if I don’t want to go.

Bye bye Mr Suarez : (

The guy is not leaving for christ sake

Sounds to me like he was being perfectly sensible. Happy at Liverpool but would always look at offers. Much as I want him to stay I respect him for being honest about it and I (along with most of humanity) would also look at the sort of offers he is likely to receive if we were in his position.

The guy is being honest, simple as. And I respect him for it. He knows he plays for the one of the biggest clubs in the world but he also knows that this elite club is not playing in the champions league and that's what he wants to play in. However, doesn't mean he will go, just means he will consider what is best for him as a footballer.

Interesting comments by Suarez. I just think its going to be difficult to keep away from CL teams. I just hope it doesn't drag on all the summer and the club become stronger from whatever happens. The club comes first all day long. {Ed002's Note - Should hardly be a shock should it.}

Like I have said before Suarez will leave Liverpool this summer along with Coates, Skrytel and possibly Henderson. It will be a busy summer in and OUT.

Hi Eds,
I wonder if you could clear something up for me. There has been sooooo much talk on here lately about how much Suarez would go for. People saying no less than 50, 60 even £80M. My question is this. He has a clause in his contract which, if met, allows other teams to talk to him which is rumoured to be 40M. If this clause is met and the other team satisfy Suarez' personal terms would that be it? If the player is happy to leave for one club could Liverpool say no and hold out for a higher bidder even though Suarez may not want to go to any other club?
Sorry its a bit long winded and I hope it makes sense to you! Would really appreciate your answer.

BELIEVER {Ed002's Note - No, as I have explained repeatedly, all it does is allow him to speak to other clubs should he wish to do so. We are going to kill all discussion of money soon because of the box of rocks conundrom and the complete inability of football fans to count to potato.}

Hi Ed's,
with all this talk of Juventus signing either Jovetic, Sanchez or Suarez to play alongside Llorente when he comes in. What is happening with the current Strikers, are LFC likely to hold interest in either Vucinic, Quagliarella or Giovinco? Or even Iaquinta?
Thanks in advance
Jacksr {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown interest in any.}

None of them are good enough as a replacement for Suarez.

The real AG

Exactly. Which is why they're looking to replace at least one of them with Suarez.

For everyone who constantly posts about the return of Alonso, Ballague has just explained how its likely Alonso will leave this summer but not for Liverpool, backing up the Eds in what they have said with the Galatasaray link.

Ed, what clubs are showing interest in alexis sanchez? Were do you see sanche ending up or for that manner remaining atbarca? {Ed002's Note - Attempts to buy Sanchez in the summer were met by a 40M euro asking price although I suspect 25-30M euro will be nearer to what will be paid in summer for him. Juventus have very clear targets and a significant budget to buy a player to play off their main striker. They have identified three possible players - Sanchez is one. The only other confirmed interest is from Inter who are putting together a rather ambitious loan-to-buy deal for Sanchez.}

Ed002 I've noticed you saying a couple of times that Juve have very clear targets and I can't believe nobody has asked who they might be so care to share some light on that front. Always interesting to hear what the big teams are up to as it invariably shapes what happens across Europe. Jimbo {Ed002's Note - This has actually been dealt with on plenty of occasions Jimbo. However, as explained in January, Llorente will be moving to Juventus in the summer and Juve has identified three possible players as being suitable to play off him. These are Jovetic, Sanchez and Suarez. They intend to do what they can to buy one of these players.}

Thanks for explaining it to me again then. Jimbo

I can't really see us accepting a loan-to-buy deal on our best player, he's just too valuable. {Ed002's Note - Sanchez plays for Barcelona not Liverpool.}

daily mail say lfc and juve in talks about 26million transfer of suarez if this was true it would make the price we pay for players very strange.

It will be more than double that

That makes Andy Carroll about £1.50 then

20 Mar 2013 10:09:12
The fact you read that newspaper is bad enough. They are probably the worst jurno's in the UK. If he was going to go then we should settle for no less than 50 million. that's the price I think would force the owners hand. I think people should not listen to what he said in the media I think if a club offers him a huge deal with CL football on offer he would leave. Its the way football is we are no better than we have been in the last few years. I can't even see us getting CL for the next few years becuse the clubs like chelsea, man u, city will always have better players than us. We are competing for 1 spot with spurs and Arsenal and possibly everton to. Both spurs and Arsenal have better teams than us the table don't lie.

This should be on the conspiracy page. {Ed002's Note - I do not believe that there have been any talks with Liverpool but it is no secret that they will look to open the bidding with an offer of €30M or thereabouts. This has been the case for months so it is nothing new and nothing has changed.}

Ed002 they can bid 30 million euros all they like but lfc won't accept it? look at agger last year, we had a valuation and we stick to it. We valued agger at £27m so I think suarez will be more like £50m+. There may be a clause that allows him to talk to clubs but as long as we don't have to sell we shouldn't untill a ridiculous bid comes in? {Ed002's Note - He spent a lot of time courting Juventus last summer and discussions have continued between his agent and Pavel Nedved and others representing Juventus. Everyone will know where they stand. There is interest from other clubs as well, as would be expected for a player that has been performing well.}

Ed002 what I am saying is even if he wants to go (he says he doesn't) we don't have to sell him and certainly not for 30m euros or anywhere near that? we paid 30m euros for him {Ed002's Note - I have never said he would be sold for that. What I shared was that Juventus are looking to make an opening offer of 30M euros. For 40M euros he can talk to them. That co-incides with a likely offer from elsewhere. Much of the time it is pointless me sharing what is going on because folks don't read what is posted carefully and then resort to abuse - and it was particularly foul and discusting with further threats made today. Add to that, anything post that discusses money at all leads to confuse the average DF football fan.}

No Italian side can possible afford Suares they have no money. {Ed002's Note - And here we have a good example of a DF fan spewing ignorance.}

Original article did not state £40m euros neither did James Pearce confirm this in the Liverpool Echo. If he did have an agreement of only £40m euros that would represent BAD business by FSG. {Ed002's Note - You misunderstood what was written - try reading it again.}

Ed002 all I am saying is that maybe for 40m euros they can speak to him, but it doesn;t mean we have to sell? at the end of the day Liverpool own suarez, he just signed a new deal and we can keep him if we don;t want to sell him {Ed002's Note - So who said Liverpool have to sell at that price? Try reading it again slowly. Basically you don't seem to be able to take any of this in. This is understandable as you are a football supporter looking at numbers. It'll never be comprehensible - hence my explanation.}

Ed002 is saying FOR 40m EURO they can TAlK TO HIM is that simple enough?

Mate no one is saying suarez will be sold, ed2 is just passing information that what is going behind the scenes with Suarez which we fans appreciate it, thanks ed2 as always mate.

Maybe you should create a separate locked part of the site for those of us that can read, because I personally really appreciate it when you guys mention numbers and I am sure there are many others like me.

Morning Eds

Do you know if we would have any interest in Marko Marin, He joined the Chavski boys and has vanished off the radar, he was supposed to be the German messi at one point?

REDFORLIFE {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in Marin.}

Like Stirling is the English messi? the people who label these kids 'the next' are not all there. Are players of the quality of messi on a production line, because if the were it wouldn't be a fraction as exciting.

Wish we were, he's class.

Ed I've read a lot about the whole Suarez 40m clause in his contract. Now correct me if i'm wrong but didn't he say only a few weeks ago that he wants to sign a new contract at the end of the season? If its true I can't see him leaving. Could you clear that up for me please Ed? Did he say he wanted a new contract?
Thanks mate love this site!
-Beany. {Ed001's Note - he has stated he would like to stay, but he said that at Ajax too. Public statements are pretty much worthless. What it will come down to is simple, will anyone pay the money required to tempt us to sell? Will that same club make Luis an offer he can't refuse? If not, he will be here next season. Personally I remain to be convinced that any club will match both requirements, but you never know in footie. Oh and the clause, that we know of, is just to speak to a club matching that amount. So it is hopefully a starting point for negotiation, not the figure we would receive in the event of him being sold.}

Well said ed, there is no way Liverpool would sell Suarez for only £40M when we sold Torres for £50M and the price of some other players in the today's Market, Suarez would fetch around £60M but I am convinced that he will still be a Liverpool player next season as I have said before we just need to add 2 first team players (CB & RW) and 3 squad players (GK, CDM & ST) to the team and I think we will have a very good season next year.
