Any views on Liverpool being interested in Luke shaw and Michael Keane?

A Manchester United player, and an ex-Manchester United youth player? Both of whom are currently average!

Shaw cannot get a game ahead of Rojo, Blind or Darmian which says everything I need to know. Maybe he is a future solution, but I am skeptical. I have never subscribed to his hype. He was a good young player with potential, now he is a guy in his 20's clinging on to a reputation after injuries and lack of development. He is a left footed Flanagan. Robbed of their potential careers, and now risks we cannot afford to put in our first team.

Keane is just not good enough though. Burnley pack their own box with 8 players in two disciplined banks of 4. At a top team where they will want to win more games, he will need to play in a far less rigid and far more expansive system which would see him brutally exposed in my opinion. Dyche is just a very good manager and a very good tactician. When you can get players like Keane, Mee, Barton, Hendrick and Vokes playing well in a top flight league, you are doing something right.

Some players at lower teams are good in spite of their surroundings (Gibson, Robertson etc) . Some look good because of their surroundings (Keane, Shawcross etc) .

It's easier to play CB when you are set up defensively with 3 other defensive players in front of you. We saw how that worked out with Lovren who was great as Saints due to Koeman's defensive protection of his CB's and then when he came here where you are not as protected, he was poor and it has taken Klopp's management and coaching acumen to improve him. Players like Keane aren't good enough individually to play in our system cos our CB's are often exposed due to the way we play and if you can't defend one on one then, you are toast. Hence, CB's like Keane are a NO for me. Now Ben Gibson of Boro is a different issue. He would be perfect for us. Left footed CB, has pace, positional sense and can pass out of the back.

Ed002, Listened to Sharkopod again, can I ask please regarding Dembele, does he know of our interest and do you know were he would prefer to play his football next season? Im aware of the other teams interested and presume he wants Champions league football? Has our interest been mainly with scouts watching I presume or an enquiry? Tganks again for your efforts.

{Ed002's Note - He will be aware of clubs looking at him and knows of the interest of a couple of sides that have spoken with Celtic but not made an offer. I don't know what he would himself want.}

Ok mate thank you. Have we spoken with Celtic or am I now pushing my luck? Sorry in advance.

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool is not one of the clubs who has spoken with Celtic but they are interested.}

he is going to have plenty of clubs to choose from, we are going to need to be in the champions league to stand any chance of signing a player of this quality.

Yeah I know Kingkenny. The fact that were interested is a real positive and hopefully of we do get CL league football and were prepared to offer what's required then why not.

Dembele 21 it's a risk but he's got everything to his game . He's strong can score goals you can say it's in the Scottish leauge but he also had good games agaist city and Barcelona . He's a stong lad . But like I said it's a risk but sometimes you have to take them to get rewards .

Considering you spent 35mil on Andy carroll once. 35 Million on dembele wouldn't be bad business. He's going to be a top striker.

And we learned a good lesson from that deal Angel. We will have to see how much we recoup from sales, especially Sturridge and Sakho.

Sturridge plus cash deal seems a good option. Studge gets CL footy and a game each week and we get a young striker with great potential.
