Been told that West Ham are close to agreeing a fee with LFC for Carroll the rumoured fee is said to be around the 14-15m mark.

If so then expect other clauses to exist to allow the price to rise during Carroll's contract at WHM.

This is probably to accommodate WHM's need to stay within the rules of FFP and at the same time work out a deal that eventually will get Liverpool their asking price.

Kolo Toure is the latest defender linked to Liverpool, can't see it myself but as a free then why not it would free up cash for other players. Danny Rose is also a interest to BR as reported by myself last year.

Rather Kolo on a free than 10m on Williams. Would do a good job on reasonable wages for the squad! So long as we don't get Williams as well as him, then I'd be very worried! haha.

It would make sense to me though most seem to disagree. BR is after players who will bring a winning mentality to what is already an improving team. We scored 71 goals this year and only had one striker til Jan. I think people are underestimating the job BR is doing and just how good Liverpool are becoming. I actually think we were the best footballing side in the 2nd half of the season. We just need squad depth and players who wear their shirts on their sleeves. We've got enough quality in the final 3rd with coutinho, sturridge and suarez. Someone like Toure would be ideal for me, given his experience, along with another youngish top centre half who's commanding in the air. I still think we always look vulnerable from crosses and have since the Hyypia days.

Is he not going to be looking for the sort of wages we'd want our 1st choice centre backs on?

Let him off.

As 3rd or 4th choice I can't think of a better option.

Plus he would come on a free!

Hi Eds, Assuming Reina is about to leave, I'd really like to see David Stockdale sign for us. Seen him a few times for Fulham and watched him a lot last season at Hull. Think he's great - young, English and has huge potential - great attitude. Any word of us being interested in him? Think he'd be a great buy - more solid than a number of the foreign goalies people keep linking us with. Red since '74 {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest, but Fulham are looking for a new GK.}

No way, not fit enough at all, far too overweight nowhere near good enough to replace pepe.

Dave Stockdale used to play for Darlington Fc that's before the FA screwed us over and relegated us a number of divisions for going into administration, however that's for another time, He certainly has the potential of being a real top class keeper, his performances for us were consistent and that's how Fulham noticed him.

Are Darlington fc still a team? But more importantly Stockdale isn't good enough as well as being 27 years old. Not that young

Hi eds, with Reina belived to be going, have we looked at Kasper Schmichael? I've watched him on multiple occasions due to the fact i'm from Leicester and he is definatly the best keeper in the championship by a mile. Plus I know Rodgers tried to sign him in his Swasea days! I think he'd make a real quality signing! {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

I think we are looking at Marc Andre Ter-Stegen from Gladbach.

Eds I've read down the posts and can't see anything you've said on tello? Any chance there would be a swap deal? Even though I know it's unlikely because swaps are rare. I can't use search function I'm on my phone lol {Ed002's Note - General enquiries about the player's availability were made last summer by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool. Discussions about loans of one type or another were raised by Valencia, Ajax, Benfica and Atletico Madrid - all of which came to nothing. Tello agreed a new contract in January which assures him that he will not be left in the B squad and with Sanchez and Villa leaving this summer he may well make the transition he desires. However, whilst there remains speculation that Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool could be interested it is hard to see Barcelona simply selling him on with the others leaving. If the situation is such that Barcelona decide to make an approach for Suarez, it is possible that Tello might be part of the negotiations.}

But Napoli have sustained interest and are continuing to push to complete a transfer after it nearly happening in the summer. They or one of the MIlan clubs seem a likely destination right now. Inter seem him as an alternate to Paulinho.}

Why make up stuff. Mcarthy is not the standard Liverpool is now looking for. Sure a good player but we can do better. If you had said Tello then at least it would sound convincing {Ed002's Note - You think Tello would make a good goalkeeper?}

As much as I agree that McCarthy isn't quite ready to be Liverpool keeper yet people shouldn't brush him off as a standard bottom 3 keeper at reading. He's been injured half the season and as soon reading in games. I have a season ticket there and honestly think, given a couple of years, this guy could be the long term keeper at livrpool.

is it true we are looking at Danny Rose as LB option?
if we are looking to add him as back-up to Enrique then its fine by me but if we are looking at him to replace Enrique someone needs to give their heads a wobble.
Still I feel at the money Spurs will demand for Rose we can get Lucas Digne or Bastian Oczipka who I reckon are top LB's. {Ed001's Note - I am not convinced on this story at all, seems to be someone just putting 2+2 together and pulling random, possibly available, left back names out of a hat.}

Not so much a rumour, but PSG fans are adamant that regardless of a new manager, Leonardo is already planning big money transfers and he wants to buy a new No. 1 goalkeeper. That would mean their keeper Sirigu becoming available as he's very unlikely to be a No. 2 keeper. We've watched PSG a lot this year, so that could be one to look out for if Reina were to leave. RC

Reina looks to be on his away out : ( as does Skrtel and (although I hate to say it), Shelvey as well. It must be stressed that only if the right bids come in.

So far, Begovic and Mignolet have been identified as possible goalkeeper replacements. Although I wouldn't mind testing the water for Diego Lopez who will surely lose his place back to Casillas next season.

Seems like BR has an issue with players shaved heads! not sure if it was simply a coincidence that Jose started playing again after he re grew his hair

And anyone taller than himself! Bilbo Baggins will replace Carra.

Personally, I don't buy it. I thought Shelvey was meant to replace Stevie one day? Also if BR wants to strengthen defense why would he be letting Reina and Skrtle go? Only a fool would sell players without first finding replacements. We've had fools manage the team before, I just don't think BR is one of them.

Oi numb nuts. Have you not read any of the Independent Hillsborough Panel's findings? An analysis has been done of fan movements on the. Day. Using CCTV which showed that there were at most 24, 600 Liverpool fans in Sheffield that day and we sold over 24,000 tickets. The panel estimated at most 300 ticketless fans. The cause of the crush was down to the police opening a gate and not closing the doors to the already full central pens.
