Ed, in my opinion Martin Kelly should be first choice rb next season.He can defend and is excellent going forward.Now we are in the market for a lb and hopefully we fill it with quality.Then we are allegedly in the hunt for mata, downing, adam, payet, etc.So this leaves the question where doe's glen johnson fit in.I say sell him and he will be another big earner of the wage bill and he will get us a sizeable transfer fee.This money could go on other positions that need to be filled.RD.RED)

Apparently, whilst gerrard was away on his charity trip in portugal he and his fellow 'golfers' were at a certain venue and lionel messi was spotted at the bar, i am not saying anything substantial but given messi's 'supposed interview' post champs league final it seems he and a couple of the liverpool players have struck up a good relationship, make of it what you will

Liverpool are to tie up a deal for Theo Walcott by the 1st week in July. This is the player we have been in discussions with Arsenal, not Clichy as is being widely reported. Eds, have you heard anything on this rumour?

LFC are going to make an improved offer for Clichy in the next 48 hrs, Adam deal is no go due to LFC losing patience with Oyston...Like KK said we will not be held to ransom by anyone. Mata deal is done, Pacheco going to Valencia as part of the deal.

Blackpool are playing hard ball over the transfer fee of charlie adam, liverpool are pushing hard to make this transfer a reality but have lined up a back up plan if this bid fully fails which it is currently looking more likely to do so
They will in turn move for celtics 22yr old Ki Sung-Yeung and this would also open up the Asian market which standard charted have been putting pressure on us to do so since signing the sponsorship rights (eds what's your opinion of this player would he be the better alternative)

Liverpool are being linked with a move for ex-Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc, reports the Daily Mail.
The Polish goalkeeper, currently applying his trade with Fiorentina, earned 79 clean sheets in over 200 matches for the old firm side during a five year spell at Celtic Park.
Boruc left Celtic for Italy to become an understudy to Sebastien Frey and had to wait until November for his first start for the club.
The 31-year-old won three SPL titles while at Celtic, including two Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup.
Celtic have since replaced Boruc in the first-team with Lukasz Zaluska.
With Liverpool having lost out on signing Brad Friedel, Kenny Dalglish is still looking for a backup for Pepe Reina.
The likes of Alexander Doni and Hugo Lloris have both been linked with moves to Liverpool this summer.
Dalglish is expected to be provided with a large transfer kitty this summer, and has wasted little time splashing out on Jordan Henderson to help bolster Liverpool's midfield.

Liverpool are the latest side to be credited with an interest in Brest striker Nolan Roux, according to France Football, and could move for the Frenchman this week.
The 23-year-old has attracted a plethora of suitors following a stellar Ligue 1 campaign in which he scored six goals in 28 appearances for the strugglers.
Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli is believed to be keen on Roux, with the report stating that a deal could materialise by the end of the week.
The striker has a contract with Brest that runs until 2013 and the French outfit will likely demand a fee of around £7.1 million.
Schalke and Bordeaux are also interested in the services of the Frenchman.

Liverpool to sign Dejan Lovren for 3mill , highly rated young Croation CB , a move for Scott Dann could also happen and Gael clichy , the 3 players could only cost 20mill in total , this would represent good business, an expierence premier league lb and 2 very good young CB , with jamie carragaher getn on and Agger injury prone , and skrtel suspect at times and prone to the odd knock or two ..its reralistic to think we need to make 3 or 4 big changes at the back..i personally hope Skrtel is sold and replaced , plus we need to sign a replacement for carra ..and we deffo need a proper lb , aurelio aint good enough , Agger is better at cb ..

Amazing as I also saw Carra!! only I saw him on Northwest Tonight TV News last night playing in the Steven Gerrard Charity Golf Tournament,

Them into class players. I know all the uasal 8,000 names we are apparently interested are been banded about at a cost of 5 billion, but do ye know if we are monitoring any potential gems from lower leagues?

I think we could see Downing and Adam sign (provided Oyston budges or we offer a few more million) but probably not N'zogbia. Wickham is the most likely striker. If it isn't him, it will be someone similar; young with pace and power, a poacher.}

Regarding the previous post about Charlie Adam not joining, I already posted a couple of days ago stating a very good source had told me Liverpool were strongly looking at other players now as Blackpool play hard ball. Liverpool are now looking elsewhere. Doesn't mean we won't come back to Charlie Adam at some point but for the time being it's a deal I would forget about.

I have been told that two staff members have been put on gardeners leave due to them leaking transfer rumours to the press. The club have felt that this has effected both the deals for downing and adam.
They have now re-affirmed there stance to all staff that they want the club run the liverpool way and that no one should be talking to the press about signings.

My source tells me that Charlie Adam is 100% not joining now. Blackpool are holding out too long and Dalglish will turn to other options. Banega has been mentioned along with Honda but I'm told that Liverpool are considering a move for Alonso and are making him their number one target for centre midfield. NESV appreciate the fact that while Alonso is over the ideal age, he has such a history with the club that he will be a very good investment due to his unbelievable passing skills. Look for them to make a bid of around £18 million this summer and if Real say no then you can be pretty much assured that Xabi will be returning home next summer.

Liverpool F.C set to sign Scott Dann from Birmingham on a 3 year deal. Fee expected to be around 9 million pounds. Gary Cahill looks to the most likely to be joining Tottenham Hotspur with the next 2 weeks fee believed to be 14 million pounds. Liverpool didnt want to spend over 10 million pounds for a central defender as they already have Carragher, Agger, Skrtel possibly Seto although I expect him to leave the club when Dann joins. Danny Wilson will not be leaving the club as Kenny sees alot of potential in the lad.

Hi Eds great job on what you're doing, trying to quell a little of the rumor insanity. Please post this in the rumor section bcos there are things I'm tired of reading.
a. We DO NOT have to sell to buy. WE HAVE MONEY!! But the fact that we have money doesn't mean we should be stupid or pay over the odds for anyone. (and we did not pay 20 mil for Henderson; read Comolli's interview)
b. Nothing is ever certain in transfer dealings. Negotiations break down, hence somethings are true one day, then not so the next. Like I am certain there was a time when we were a step away from completing the Adam transfer but situations devolve for many reasons.
c. Concerning the squad, reasonable wage bill and squad depth are the major concern.
d. Concerning targets, many things are taken into consideration but the 'Liverpool way' is given high priority i.e. the desire to give your all for the club and believe in the vision.
e. Lastly Comolli and Kenny are very thorough in their evaluation of targets. Neither is a novice at what they're doing. Not up to 20 of these player links are true. Media blows inquiries and past interest out of proportion.
These are things you should all know if you claim to support this club

This is not accurate, LFC have not been in contact with milan over Pato or indeed anyone. They are looking to Kwadwo Asamoah and Marek Hamsik this summer.

We have cooled interest in Downing and Adam and Dann (if we ever had any).
Mata was never seriously considered (unless we offload other players).
Bringing in players with EPL experience only at the moment, expect one of N'Zogbia or Jarvis, possibly Enrique, possibly Wickham, possibly Cattermole.
Further signings depend in players leaving.

Turkish side Galatasaray have told Chelsea they can have their attacking midfielder Arda Turan but he will cost the Stamford Bridge side an extra £3m on top of their initial £15m enquiry.
The Turkey international has been at Galatasaray his whole career and has been under Hiddink since the Dutchman took over in 2010 although it is now believed that he shall be joining Chelsea within the next eight days and be bringing the 24 year old left footer with him.
Turan remains one player that Chelsea will look to acquire regardless of whether Abramovich lands Brazilian starlet Neymar as the West London club look to boost their attacking options for the next campaign. Should Chelsea land both stars then there will be question marks over the likes of Soloman Kalou, who complained recently quite ironically that too many players were complaining.
With Galatasaray happy to allow Turan to leave for England, should Chelsea match the £18m required which sources claim is highly likely then it will be their first major signing this summer of a transfer list that will quite easily accumulate past the £130m mark.

It is being revealed this evening that the Liverpool transfer guru Damien Comolli has been involved in several meetings with Lyon over their 21 year-old defender Dejan Lovren.
The big centre-back has made 34 appearances for the French giants this season, but apparently does not figure in their plans for next season and has been placed on the transfer list.
It seems that Lovren has upset somebody in the Lyon management because he cost them 8m euros just 18 months ago when they bought him from Dynamo Zagreb, but he now available for just £3million!
The youngster has already made four appearances for the Croatian national team and Kenny Dalglish thinks that Lovren could be a cut-price alternative after missing out on Blackburn s Phil Jones, and he certainly is promising and at £3m could be a pretty sensible investment for the Liverpool boss.
