Hey eds, are there any dutch players we are looking at. The u21 side played really well so are we looking at any players like Ginkel, Wijnaldum etc. And have we looked at Jermain Lens from PSV? {Ed002's Note - Van Ginkel no - Wijnaldum no - Lens has agreed a move elsewhere, so no.}

Believable2 Unbelievable11

Out of interest, ed, what team has Lens agreed to move to? I know Southampton were interested at one stage. {Ed002's Note - Jeremain Lens will be moving to Dynamo Kiev in the Ukraine once the transfer window opens.}

Has Aspas been confirmed? Just read on news now that the complications have been solved?

Ed002 i'd like to ask you has there been any interest in Nacer Chadli from Liverpool if so is the deal close enough for personal terms negotiations? {Ed002's Note - One time looking to a move to Fulham, Chadli is now attracting the attention of Shaktar, Juventus and Dortmund.}

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Rodgers stop now

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was to move to Shaktar Ed, do you think that'd increase the chance of Liverpool signing Henrikh M?

JA89 {Ed002's Note - It will make no difference.}

Ed002 I would just like to ask you if Ilori is highly rated by your friends who are in the know as you probably value their opinion on players. I have no opinion on him as i've never seen him play and a lot of posters have mixed views on him. {Ed002's Note - Ilori is a young player of which much is, apparently, expected.}

fee agreed for simon migonlet believed to be 10-11 Million

Could this be Pepe Reina going?

Believable66 Unbelievable16

This is sickening. One of the world's great keepers is leaving. And we sign a NOBODY to replace him

And it will get worse. MUCH WORSE!

Agree0 Disagree0

That is going to be a awesome signing! :)

YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would you want to replace Pepe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Great we've needed a a consistent keeper sice Rafa left.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reina is far from one of the world's best goalkeepers. Since he had a few months' worth of decent form recently everyone seems to have forgotten how distinctly average he's been for the last few seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can I say that mingolet is a bad keeper. He Will be awesome in Liverpool, he had the best saving % in PL last season!

YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Reina will be here for one more season, then be sold to Atletico Madrid next summer when Courtois' loan finishes.

That's my personal view, I'm not in the know or anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet has much better stats then reina Last season.
He saved more clear cut chances then pepe and that is in a team that concedes more chances. He is the belguim number one.
No your facts before you spit your dummy out son.
Davey liver.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the up and coming top keepers coming to Liverpool to replace a world class keeper who is clearly losing his ability to stay a top keeper look how many mistakes reina makes every season its mot that i'm critising him he's great just losing his abilty to make good decisions.it's a good deal in my eyes I see us keeping more clean sheets now with mignolet I'm really happy this one is going to happen. Bring on top 4
CDM

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he may wish to leave to go back to Spain.

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as I like Reina, and appreciate his ability to start moves from the back, you don't spend 8-11m on a keeper for the bench. I just hope we can break even, last thing we want to do is sell a quality keeper and spend extra in his replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Mingolet rumour is true and Pepe does go, I'd be pretty happy with the way BR manages the club. When players open their mouths and start blabbing about moving to other clubs the manager should just go out and get their replacement asap. Why should the club risk inflated prices for replacements and hurried negotiations? They should also be held accountable for their actions. Why should individual players be allowed to negatively affect the psychology of the squad and the club?
Nobody is irreplaceable and, just like Ed said, players are transient.
Zari

Agree0 Disagree0

Miss you Reina top keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet a nobody? I take it you didn't watch football much last season then because he virtually single handedly (well he used both hands actually) kept Sunderland in the league. Him and Begovic were the best two keepers in the league last season for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right for those who are bashing mignolet, he played more mins than pepe 3420 against pepes 2790, faced more shots 524 against pepes 292, made more saves 150 against pepes 71, faced more shots on goal 200 against pepes 104, has a much higher save percentage 73.5 % against pepes 67.6. So please check the stats before spouting your vile, sorry eds but all this sounding off before we have even signed the lad does my box in. He will be a great keeper if given time.

Reina was signed as an upcoming keeper in his mid-20's, he has been our best keeper since Grob in his hey-day. He's still in the top ten keepers in europe for me and he will probably have 5/6 seasons at that level.

But he's got itchy feet and a sale value that signs a good replacement.

Mignolet is an upcoming keeper in his mid-20's, let's hope he proves as good a signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course he is off but he has been dignified and a quality keeper 4 us on and off the field.

I hope we get a good resale value because we can't be too gentlemanly In business especially if it's the loaded and mighty barca.
Good
Luck pep

Daniellambretta

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first commenter have you watched a game in the last 3 yeas?

Mignolet is probally of the best keepers in the league and manages to keep a good save record despite having a much poorer defence in front of him than a lot of teams.

But Reina although he is a great player hasn't been as good as he was a few years ago for a while now. He seems to make some spectacular saves and then let's himself down by making stupid mistakes that cost us games.

If reina wants to leave let him and Mignolet will be a great replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet is a quality keeper but I can't understand why we are paying £11-12mill that's been reported when Sunderland were looking for £10mill and we were offering £8mill. It seems bizarre we just made £3-4mill jump

Numz

Agree0 Disagree0

Reina has had many opportunities to leave LFC and has stuck by the club. I am happy for him if he receives an offer from a club he wants to move to. Mignolet in my opinion is a good move but not a great move. If Friedel wasnt retiring I would say sign him for a year and maybe look to a few of the young german keepers. However more than happy to see Mignolet in a red shirt. [FR]

Agree0 Disagree0

Reina has been an excellent servant for the club and must go down as the best keeper we've had in the PL era. Will miss the 'no se pasaran' banner in the kop. Buena suerte Pepe. YNWA.

Do like the signing of Mignolet. Very promising, young, and proven in the PL. Welcome to the reds son.

Agree0 Disagree0

We would be better off spending that money on Ter Stegen {Ed002's Note - ter Stegen was never going to be moving to Liverpool.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's to say PR won't go to Arsenal? They always admire Pepe and need a keeper. Another big wage earner off LFC payroll. The wage bill is forever decreasing with every sale.

Lee73

Agree0 Disagree0

Pepe will stay, he just needs quality competition to sit on the bench to keep the pressure on. He will leave next season, I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodgers just wants competition throughout the team, every position.

lets give the lad a chance, imo he looks very good, now let's really have a look at reina in the last 2 years he has been the cause of a lot of points being lost and everytime the opposition got a corner free kick I personally didn't have faith in him, he has great distribution but no big presence.if it is true he is moaning about joining bigger clubs like his team mate, get the best deal for Liverpool and move on let's support the players who want to wear r badge not use it as a stepping stone.Tommy Irish Red

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody, as far as I've seen, complemented the club for acting so quickly and positively to the itchy feet that pepe has developed. He wants out, and the replacement is defo up there with the best possible available replacements. Liverpool will spend about 30- 40 million this summer, but its a smokescreen as they will recoup about 70 with sale of reina, Carroll, pycho Suarez and some of the younger players maybe (JonJonJo). At the min it looks good but by summers end there will be head scratching As to where the club is and what it's ambitions are

Agree0 Disagree0

Smokescreen? The club has taken in the last year on debt to help finance players transfers, so if we recoup more than we outlay this summer I wouldn't call that a smokescreen, I'd call that balancing the books.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mignolet a nobody?
Read today's Echo lad. rated the best goalkeeper in Premiership and second best in Europe.
Far better goalie than than Reina.hope we get him off our wage bill.and soon!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who stated "Can't wait to see Mignolet in a red shirt" Our keeper next season will not be wearing a red shirt!

Agree0 Disagree0

Says he wants to stay and stay and extend contract on another site

Ed, a silly question and I am so sorry to bother you. Is there any chance we might look to Honda if we pull out of the Mkhitaryan deal due to the financial complexities? Cheers

(([~~, ])) {Ed001's Note - it seems unlikely, though I wish we would.}

Believable13 Unbelievable16

Don't want this Mkhitaryan fella

Agree0 Disagree0

Still feel the deal for HM could go ahead then Ed? Seems expensive but if he produces I suppose it'll be worth it.

JA89 {Ed002's Note - I agree it seems expensive. We will see what happens.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why r we not looking at him eds?
Surely they see he is quality, played really well in confed cup games and I haven't seem him play for a couple of seasons
And still looks to have plentyto offer. Surely u have BR's ear don't u ;-)

Drove past melwood around 12.30 and driving past me leaving melwood was a silver Mercedes Vito with blacked out windows and on my side of the road was a camera man filming it driving away ( and towards me look out for my black kia if you see any footage). I am guessing that Alberto was leaving after completing his medical.

I'm glued to the tv looking for your black Kia but no sign as yet. I was at melwood the other day and looked on in amazement as a big yellow truck left with some bin bags. Could be the council picking up rubbish but could also be Suarez's belongings being collected who knows or cares whatever happens it'll be in the papers so no need to try and beat the journo's and then come on here claiming you know more than people who do investigative work for a living.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blimey, get a life people, its a rumour page and the poster was sharing what he saw. No need to abuse him .

could Kevin De Bruyne be an option ed002? what's your opinion of him? would be a great option for the reds in that number 10 role or out wide.

Alves {Ed002's Note - I don't see De Bruyne as an option.}

Believable3 Unbelievable20

His agent said today that he will be staying at chelsea, and if he was to leave I think he would choose dortmund over us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah because we haven't already got a number 10 player in Coutinho.

Hey Ed's: heard Ben Arfas name pop up again and supposedly he's headed out the door at NUFC. Feel as though BR will move for him? I remember some papers linking us with him (but then again who haven't we been linked with) i'd take Ben arfa any day. Injury prone maybe, but he's got serious skill and that's undeniable! If the fee is only around 10m I think we should move for him. I'm sure there will be real interest in france as well. Would like to see him or menez move to LFC! {Ed002's Note - Liverpool's interest is very clearly elsewhere.}

Believable4 Unbelievable15

21 Jun 2013 11:32:03
Even though Balazs Dzsudzsak will not likely move to Liverpool as the rumour is a recycled January one do the eds expect him to move from Dynamo this summer? anywhere in the BPL? {Ed002's Note - I suspect it is an old story being recycled, but Liverpool showed interest in Dzsudzsak whilst at PSV and again in January when the club enquired after a loan. More recently Inter, Schalke and Parma have shown an interest. It would certainly not be out of the question.}

This is the situation with Mickey! Please stop asking the same questions

{Ed002's Note - I have had no feedback regarding approaches made to Dortmund and Bayern Munich at this time. For now, the interest from Liverpool will be more attractive to the player and his representatives than any interest from Italy - but time will prove to be a problem as he is continuing to be offered to other clubs. As of last night I understand that Liverpool has made an offer to Shakhtar and are actively discussing a deal for the player. I still expect that a deal can be brokered.}

Cheers

Believable25 Unbelievable10

Thank you ed for clearing that up, if you can, can you answer this please, does he have third party ownership issues or is just a load of rubbish.

Thanks {Ed002's Note - There has been investment in the player from a third party but I don't know how it is contractually arranged between them. There is also a fee committed on his sale to a previous agent.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed. This is starting to look rather expensive don't you think. Do you think Liverpool may look elsewhere as there is loads of options available for considerably less. {Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed, by the sounds of things we may end up pulling the plug as its getting too complicated.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, it's taking too long, LFC should just forget him and use the 20+ million on other good targets. Personally I think LFC should sign Jason (Pineapple head) Lee and Ian Ormondroyd.

Big John. (Bearded)

Eds any chance of clement grenier now that mkirtyan is unlikely? how much would lyon want? {Ed002's Note - No. Lyon's Grenier has been of interest to Marseille, AC Milan, Arsenal, Juventus and Chelsea - but at the right price. The right price for Lyon is considerably higher when Chelsea and other EPL teams are interested and that has perhaps already priced him out of the market. OL would like to keep him and are close to having him sign a new deal.
