Resting quietly after yesterday's heart scare, Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier has inadvertently let slip the destination of his want-away winger, Ashley Young - explains Sports Writer of the Year, Damian Twigley.

Speaking on his mobile this morning to striker, Darren Bent, Houllier had no idea that ace reporter Twigley had earlier hacked his way into his private iPhone, with a view to securing an exclusive on his state of health.

Instead of which, Twigley found himself listening-in to some red-hot transfer news.

"How can I possibly tell Kenny Dalglish that Ashley won't be joining Liverpool", whispered Houllier.

"Don't worry about it boss", replied concerned Bent. "You just concentrate on getting better. Leave the Dalglish business to me".

"Will you ring him then", said Houllier quietly.

"If you like", said Bent.

"But make sure you don't offend him. Kenny's a good bloke".

"Sure, I'll be very gentle", said Bent.

"I'll just tell him Ashley can't stand Liverpool, doesn't want to live amongst a load of Scousers and has already found himself a fabulous house only a mile away from Manchester United's Carrington training ground".

"That'll break his bloody heart", said Houllier.

"So what", said Bent.

"You could do with some company as you get better".

Ed do you think that there is any truth in this??. it seems a load of bullsh*** but then again you never know. . thanks. .

Hu. {Ed001's Note - that is complete nonsense, Bent has nothing to do with any kind of management at the club. Houllier wouldn't delegate responsibility when he was in danger of dying, he is certainly not going to delegate it now to a player! I would think Gary Mac would be upset if he did anyway.}

Just Type Damian Twigley into Google. {Ed001's Note - is it some kind of spoof journo or something?}

Have it on very good authority that kenny wants to keep aquilani next season and will sit him down for a chat to try and change his mind about coming back to liverpool.
Also kenny expects liverpool to be challenging for the title next season! Watch this space.

I have it on good authority that FSG are looking to redevelop anfield, rebuilding the anfield road and main stand whilst leaving the kop and centenary untouched. capacity of approx 64,000. It will look very much like St James Park for those of you who are familiar with that stadium. However expect it to be 2-3 years before permission granted and works are underway.

I got a text from an old work friend who married a Russian lady and moved over there saying in the papers it's saying Liverpool officials have been over to talk to Rubin Kazan over ansaldi. Ed who his he, were does he play and is he any good.

KopEndDannyLFC {Ed001's Note - left back. Is it defo Liverpool? Only Ed002 had mentioned about a Prem team had sent a delegation to a match between them and CSKA, he just didn't know which team, perhaps it was us. I certainly couldn't find out, no one I spoke to knew of anyone connected with Liverpool being out there, so I had come to the conclusion it must have been someone else.}

Just called him ed and were the only club mentioned in any newspaper or sports channel and he says he a great player who isn't likely to cost that much

KopEndDanny {Ed001's Note - it does tally up with the info we had available, I wasn't 100% on ruling us out of being the team, but just couldn't find anything to back up it being us.}

Not had the best of luck with my shirts recently ed my last 2 have had torres on the back. actually looking forward to seeing the new shirt now tho, never liked adidas ones.

I have never understood the concept of a grown man (sorry mikey if you are still a boy & I am having a go at you) having another mans' name on his back. My children have names on the back of their kits (Gerrard & Alonso respectively [my daughter went back to Alonso after she gave away the number 9 a few months back]) & that is OK. But I cringe every time I see a man with any type of jersey, with most being NFL here in the states, and the name of a professional athlete on the back. I support LFC, not one player specifically in the squad (remember "no one is bigger than Liverpool Football Club).

I would like to say thank you ed001 for the idea of JFT & 96, that will be on my back from now on when I pre-order my top for next season.

Ed, a birdie has told me, LFC have had an offer close to 11million accepted by liege for defour and everything will be tied up when window opens. Ed, any truth in this? {Ed001's Note - we are certainly interested and have been speaking to his club, so it is possible.}

We have been watching a lot of Porto games recently , and the name Hulk has been the player linked with , but it is Rolando the centre half is the main reason we have been scouting Porto. and before you ask me my source. It is TK

Kenny Dalglish has asked Steven Gerrard whether he wants to stay or go, the Liverpool captain being plagued with injury this season. He has been linked with a 30,000, 00£ move to Manchester City and AC Milan. I would personally be gutted to see him go, but I think we're coming to realize that he is no longer needed, with Meireles, Lucas, Spearing, Shelvey playing in his position, and Alberto Aquilani perhaps coming back.
**************************
Steven Gerrards not leaving, he said when he's 33 he'll retire. . I don't think anyone will want to leave when the club is gonna invest in the summer, how long has Gerrard been waitin for this??? Get real man.

Liverpool are going to have NASCAR sponser on the back of their shirts for a reported £30 million deal!

Why would it cost more to put a sponsor on the back of the shirt than it does to put one on the front? £25mil(front) £30mil(back)???

the deal with warrior is to make the shirts not sponser as standard charter had a four year deal i think?! so the nascar deal would be to go under the number but i am no expert, that's how i see that happening if it were allowed by prem league.

Hulk's agent has rumored to have said that Hulk has agreed to set to move in the summer and an agreement has been made with an unknown club. Some people guessing it's City but I doubt it with their string interest in Sanchez. Was wondering if an Ed could potentially give some day light into this.

I don't see United, Arsenal, Chelsea going after him and Madrid and Barcelona don't need him. {Ed002's Note - I don't know anything about what is agent has said or not. Milan was probably most interested in him.}

22 Apr 2011 12:25:44
Hey ed, caught offside are saying we want to sign john arne riise back. i know caught offside aint reliable but do u think we should go for him, or pursue baines, cissokho and enrique (just one, not all three??? {Ed002's Note - Riise must be over 30 now so it makes no sense at all. The others are better options.}

People are talking about all sorts of signings of late. I've been browsing from a distance.

To be honest with you, I am only interested in 1 signing and that is Kenny Dalglish.

If we don't have him, it doesn't matter who we sign from your never-going-to-happen fantasy wishlists (Sanchez, Neymar, Aguero, Hulk ect), Dalglish is the soul of Liverpool and won't win anything without him, never mind the players.

Had Dalglish started as manager from the start of the season, even with the naff squad we had, I believe we would have won something. Heck, if Brimingham won the Carling Cup, I bet we could have done!

Just saying.

Sonic.

Liverpool targets that I have heard of is that Jose Enrique is the number 1 target for the left back position with Insua returning from loan as back up. There is a number of winger rumours I have heard but the one that keeps returning is that Liverpool will steal Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from under the noses of Arsenal Why did Arsenal not sign him in January??? Liverpool will add 2 centre halves, Ryan Shawcross not Cahill and Jonanthan Woodgate will sign as a PAYP deal. Adam will be a Liverpool player for under 5m. Liverpool will sign a further player of who will be the marque signing.

Hi ed just reading that juv are unwilling to pay 10mil for auqa man but roma are intersted to right could we not do a deal for riise and maybe £5mill and get rid that way its win win with riise should of never let him go

ramythered

{Ed002's Note - I expect that a deal will be struck with Juventus. His agents were notified in January to look for alternate clubs as well. Roma are still owed 5M euro for the purchase of the player (to be paid in June). There are some minor negotiations to also be held with Roma to remove some clauses from the original contract in the event of the sale of the player. I think that there is only a slim chance of interest from Roma and most of it is speculation.}

This is great news that we have signed this deal, addidas were only paying us 12 million a year and our shirt sales are one of the biggest in the world, We will be getting about £45 million a season from Standard Charter and Warrior. which can only be a good thing for the club. Ross

Liverpool Will sign Karim Benzema/ Hulk, Leighton Baines and Dimitri Payet this summer and will look towards playing 4-3-3 with width being created from very attacking full-backs in Leighton Baines and Glen Johnson/ Martin Kelly.

I don't think KK has any intention of bringing back Aquilani. It seems more likely that he's indirectly sending a message to Juve that we're not going to lower his price and that if they're not willing to meet it, we'll take him back. Because Juve seem to be trying to twist our arm.

Just being reading King Kenny's comments regarding Aquilani. I have read that Aquilani wasn't that happy in England but I wonder if Kenny is trying to keep his transfer value up with Juventus not willing to pay the fee. Ed, do you think Kenny take the player back?

{Ed002's Note - If they are unable to unload the player then they are stuck with him. I suspect a deal will be struch that sees him stay at Juventus. His agents were instructed to look for alternatives in January as Liverpool are aware how unhappy he was and that he really does not want to return. One area of negotiation is the agent fees that are due. Once he goes and the remaining 5M euro paid off, then I think everyone will be happy. There is also a little negotiating to do with Roma about additional payments but I am told that they should not prove to be an issue.}

you should just have another standard answer for aqualani ed :)

Hi ed, do you know anything about this new sponsor rumour? sounds interesting. {Ed001's Note - do you mean the kit sponsor? I haven't got a clue whether it is true or not. I don't really get into who makes kits etc, it makes little difference really so long as it is red.}
