Roy will do his best to sign Carlos Salcido and Ola Toiven for a combined fee of £12m from PSV.

If he fails to sign Carlos Salcido he will do his best to bring either John Arne Riise (£3.5m) or Paul Konchesky (£6m) to the Kop.Riise is more likely because Konchewsky will probably sign a new contract at Fulham.

Don't rule out a move for Ronaldinho for around £5m, he would be one heck of addition to the squad.

Ed, What do you think about Ronaldinho and Riise roumors? {editor's note - I don't think either will happen.}

I can see Kenny Huang buying a club in the near future(obviously backed), I think he has used this press experience to put his name up there.To get money men to look towards him, to get clubs to think hes got what is needed. hes obviously used it as his own PR exercise. don't 4get he wasnt even on wikipedia (eddie the eagle is even on wikipedia). I wonder who hell go for Bluenoses??. I understand all the supporters on here cos your only in a need to know basis, and for business reasons the club must feel Its in our best interests not to say anything yet. . only a feeling but why did the indian bid pull out? i think its done and the others can't match.Dalglish sits with the so called enemy and seems very pally, and why would nando stay?? cos the way you have to ballance your losses next year aint nobody gonna pay 50 mill transfers after this season. Liverpool Rumours
LIVERPOOL'S 25-MAN SQUAD 10/ 11

GK- Reina, Jones, Gulacsi
LB- Agger, Aurelio
CB- Carra, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Wilson
RB- Johnson, Kelly
LM- Jovanovic, Babel
CM- Gerrard, Poulsen, Lucas, Shelvey, Spearing
RM- Kuyt, Maxi
AM- Cole
ST- Torres, Toivonen, N'gog, Pacheco

If Liverpool sign another left-back like Solcido or Konchesky (hopefully Salcido) then Agger will be our first choice centre-back again, along with Carragher. This will mean that Krgiakos will have to be sold as we will then have one too many players and Skrtel and Wilson will act as back-up centre-backs. We will not sign any more players after this, all we need is a striker and maybe a left-back, the likes of Arda Turan will not be joining Liverpool as we don't need them, we don't have the money and, unlike Mancini, I am sure that Hodgson has enough sense to not change the team too much as it will result in a group of players who have never played together not knowing eachother's styles of play and therefore not gellling together on the pitch!

Liverpool plot swoop for North American striker

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Costa Rican striker Bryan Ruiz. The 25-year-old has taken the Eredivisie by storm after joining FC Twente last summer, and new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has reportedly made Ruiz his second Dutch league target this summer.
Hodgson is thought to have made a £9 million bid for PSV forward Ola Toivonen, but the Sunday Mirror reports that Ruiz is being lined-up as a potential replacement for Dirk Kuyt should the Dutchman leave for Inter Milan.
Ruiz scored 24 goals for Steve McLaren's side in his first season at De Grolsch Veste, helping the Reds to their first league title in their history.
A versatile frontman who can also play 'in the hole' or as a winger, Ruiz started his career as a teenager at homeland club Alajuelense. After three years with the club, he moved to Gent in Belgium.
Three successful seasons at the Jules Ottenstadion saw Ruiz linked with a string of clubs across Europe, including Newcastle and Wigan in the Premier League.
Instead, the striker made his move to Holland for €5 million and has since build on his reputation with goals and performances of a high calibre.
A potential stumbling block would be the £15 million valuation of the player, and the Reds would almost certainly look to negotiate a deal if they want to bring Ruiz to Anfield.

Ola Toivonen played well today, people back in Holland think that he played his last game for PSV and heading to Liverpool fc, talk on going between the two clubs PSV want a full £10m for him while Liverpool are offering £9m, Liverpool want to do a deal for both Toivonen and Salcido, I would expexct at least Toivonen to be in Liverpool colours by the end of this week, let hope we can get both.

Players who should leave liverpool:
lucas (he's rubbish)
mascherano (he wants to leave)
deadwood players like itandje and el zhar (their deadwood)

Players who liverpool should get:
Arda Turan (he is a fan, and WANTS to play for liverpool)
Ola Toivonen (good player)

Players who shouldn't even be linked with liverpool:
SWP (people say he's good. but he is as rubbish as Lucas)
other Man City players
Fulham players

Kenny Dalglish was at PSV game against AZ Alkmaar today looking at Ola Toivonen and Carlos Salcido. Toivonen was impressive. He didn't score but his all round link up play was very good and he set up the first goal in a 3-1 win for PSV.
Salcido did not play but Roy is interested in acquiring both players for around 12m as I stated last week.

At the moment i see th only realistic signing being Ola Toivonen, and i see this as a good signing.
however for me £15million for kuyt is an offer that i could not refuse, and with that money buy a winger im not going to say who because this is highly debaitable.

i also don't see any need for a left back as Danny Agger has been doing a good job at LB, and we have Aurellio as cover, and the big Greek as cover for Skrtel and/ or Carragher.

Liverpool to Make Ambitious £4m Move for Serie A Veteran Goal Machine

Roy Hodgson will look to secure a deal to bring Juventus forward David Trezeguet to Anfield and hopes that deals that brought Alberto Aquilani to Turin and Christian Poulsen to Merseyside will help in potential negotiations for the 32 year old former French international to the club.
The veteran forward is set to be nothing more than a squad player in the coming season under new boss Luigi Delneri and Hodgson will at first be looking to seal a deal to bring the former Monaco man on a loan deal which could be just what the Serie A side is looking for as they look to trim their squad due to the rapid addition of new faces at the club.
If a loan offer fails he could pick up the ageing front man for a relatively small fee with his valuation appearing to be somewhere in the region of £4-6m.
In his decade plus at the Italian giants Trezeguet has netted 170 times but has found himself increasingly surplus to requirements behind the likes of Amauri, Alessando Del Piero and Vincenzo Iaquinta. Hodgson is looking to bring in new attacking options before the transfer window closes and he may persuade the Frenchman to take one last challenge before he hangs up his boots.
David Trezeguet will score at least 12 to 15 goals a season of the bench, if we do get him it'll be a quick fix till we get the takeover and the transfer money sorted for January or the start of next season.

Inter Milan make £15 million bid for Liverpool ace

After weeks of speculation surrounding the future of the Liverpool striker, it has been reported today that Inter Milan have made a £15 million bid for Dirk Kuyt.
Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to bring the Dutch international to the San Siro before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
Kuyt, 30, seems to be interested in a possible move to the Italian giants, calling it a "luxury situation" for himself to be in right now.
Roy Hodgson knows he needs to sell if he is to bring anyone else to Anfield this summer and with a £15 million bid now on the table from Inter, I for one reckon Kuyt will be leaving Merseyside in the coming days.

Liverpool Rumours
Liverpool set sights on Mexican international

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Mexican international Carlos Salcido. The PSV full back was reported to be an Anfield target last month, with new Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson keen to add depth in a fairly weak left back position.
Fulham defender Paul Konchesky is thought to be the number one target for Hodgson, who is keen to bring his former player to Merseyside. The Reds are thought to have made a bid for fellow PSV player Ola Toivonen, with a £9 million thought to have been tabled. Salcido would make it a raid on the Phillips Stadium.
The News of the World reports that Hodgson has placed the full back on his shortlist as the transfer window draws to a close, and is keen to strengthen his squad in a bid to secure a top four finish this season.

Liverpool Rumours
On the liverpool fc website, the gossip section is filled with news on Ola and Byran Ruiz. I know its not reliable but it may just turn out to be true. Dirk, Masch and Insua out with Ola and Ruiz coming in isn't too bad. Also, Konchesky could join.

GK: Reina (Jones)
DEF: Johnson (Kelly/ Konchesky), Skrtel (Kyrgiakos), Carra (Wilson/ Ayala), Agger (Aurelio)
MID: Ruiz (Rodruguez), Poulsen (Lucas), Gerrard (Shelvey), Jovanovic (Babel),
ST/ AM: J. Cole (Pacheco, Ola), Torres (N'Gog)

If i was Roy i would sell
Mascherano for 25 million to barca
Kuyt for 15 million to inter
Insua 5 million to whoever

then buy
Lassana Diarra for 8.5 million from real
Ashley Young for 15 million from villa
Aislan free
Salcido 3 million from psv
Ruiz 12 million from fc twente
Diego Loan from juventus
Wright Phillips Loan from city

the team
reina
Johnson carra/ skrtel agger/ greek Salcido/ aurelio

Diarra Lucas/ poulson

Young/ swp Gerrard/ cole Jova/ babel

Torres/ ruiz/ ngog

now that's what i call a squad with strength in depth!

{Editor's Note: And where would get the money to pay the wages of all of these additional players?}

22 Aug 2010 16:23:47
Just found out by a close relative that there has been a bid for kuyt but he isn't intrested as he loves liverpool too much but as he is 30 and if the money is right we may sell him as we need the money for another mid center and right and a striker but the max we have 2 spend at the mo with out the money from kuyt was 7 from sales and then 15 from owners but that has almost been used up

()()

22 Aug 2010 15:39:44
Liverpool are trying to buy a quality striker for a low price, the striker is David Trezeguet for around the mark of 5m that is a decent price for a good ald goal machine. This deal is likely to happen because Liverpool has done deals with Juve in this transfer window with Poulsen and Aqualani.

Liverpool are also considering to put a bid for 15m for Brian Ruiz a quality striker that Roy has been tracking down since his time at both Liverpool and Fulham.

Liverpool are also looking to buy Carlos Salcido if Liverpool fail to buy Paul Konchesky. I expect Liverpool to get Salcido becuase Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed said no players from Fulham will go to Liverpool becuase of Roy now moved to Liverpool.

Liverpool also going to buy Ola Toivonen from PSV they will either buy him for 9m or Liverpool will negotiate a swap player deal with Ryan Babel going the other way.

22 Aug 2010 15:14:52
Fellas!
The departure of alberto aquilani is dreadful and a possible move of dirk kuyt for 15m, which i think is a massive amount for him. I encourage roy to make the deal happen. With aqua man gone, we must look out for van der vaart or ronaldinho as his replacement.
Plus, with the amount of kuyt's sale we need to reignite our interest in turan/ a.young

believable=turan, unbelievable=young

Blood is 'red' for a reason.

Hi Ed, Love the Site first of all. Just curious to hear your views on the Kuyt situation? I know Roy has said Moratti won't be bidding for any of our players. But a couple of papers today suggesting Kuyt is still on his way to Inter and in recent minutes the player himself has confirmed there has been an approach (Source SSN).

Much Obliged.

{Editor's Note: I would guess that any outline offer has met Liverpool's expectations and they will allow the player to talk to Inter - if he wants to.}

Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt has been made aware of Inter Milan's interest in his services and is weighing up his options

great deal for us if Roy can spend the money

Hi ED

I'm a fan your site, but i don't have any friends "In the know" as most people who post on here do.
I was intrested in your thoughts ref a few points

A) the rumour that there are no bids left on the table for the board to accept.

B) the appointment and dealings of Purslow & Hodgeson

C) the whole extra bodies in / out of Melwood as where really getting to the business end of the window.

Personally as a fan of the club, i think you need to stand by any decisions made by the club. I like Purslow & Hodgeson, my fear is that there is no one in to buy LFC, if the club isn't sold by Oct we could go into admin i.e. Pompy.
As for in's / Out's Let Kuyt go for reasonable fee £8m+ and also any unwanted fringe player. Salcido is the man over Paul Knok if any LB at all. And Finally Bryan Ruiz looks really exciting but Ola Toivonen seem cool too.

YNWA.

Markolfc. {editor's note - there are bids on the table, Huang was a chancer, he was never in the running and he was just trying to save face by pulling out of a race he was never in. I think Purslow has done well myself, I don't understand this witch hunt against him purely because he had a falling out with SOS. He has tried to do things the Liverpool way, only time will tell if he is/was the right man for the job, but the anti-Purslow stuff is just ridiculous. Broughton was a strange appointment, a union-busting CEO at BA, supports Chelsea, he was never going to go down well at Liverpool. But the only way we will know if he is doing a good job is when the sale is completed, until then any talk is pure speculation. No one, apart from about 6 people, none of whom are talking about it, know anything about what is really happening at the club re: the takeover. I don't expect much more business to be done this window to be honest, and I think we should be glad of it. Rafa's dealings every summer set the club back miles, every single year we would start slowly because he signed too many players.}

Stevie G from Walton you really are misguided and obviously have been sucked right in by the crap on those Internet forums. Bamba has made a number of predictions none of which I have seen come true, there is nobody close to the sale willing to give any info other than Huang and he wasn't really ever close. You've put all your faith in an unknown china man like many did with H&G without knowing if he even had any money in the first place. Stop hoping for administration it'll worsen the plight at our club and trust that the board know more about what they are doing than the likes of the times do. Bamba I think is only getting his info from people like the times journalist who's report was quickly removed by SSN as he was slandering the club.

Liverpool are apparently lookin at bringing Jesús Navas to Anfield with the money from the Mascherano deal, this lads decent enough and is fast as well. Also i expect to see SWP at Liverpool or Ashley young and possibly Bobby Zamora

Has anyone heard anything about these?

Navas suffers from chronic homesickness so its highly unlikely he'll sign for us

EL IRISH NINO HERE:1 I wouldn want him ant way 2 Navas doesn suffers from chronic homesickness the lad went to the world cup an if he was home sickness he would have not went he got over that a while now mate ed would i be right in sayin that cheers

NAVAS DOES SUFFER FROM CHRONIC HOME SICKNESS, he retired at a very young age from international football for that reason but was talked into playing at the world cup and actually recieved alot of counselling to deal with it, so your wrong IRISH el nino cos he most certainly does still suffer from it, besides the fact his crosses are absolute rubbish, i wouldn't pay much for him {editor's note - sorry mate but you are wrong not Irish. Navas has been having treatment for his chronic homesickness, not for international football at all, but so he can play away games with Sevilla and so that he can change clubs in the future.}

Liverpool to sign ola toivonen by Monday

PSV Eindhoven's chief Marcel Brands on Saturday admitted that Liverpool had inquired about Ola Toivonen.
According to a report in the Dutch press, Brands also restated that the Swedish striker is not for sale. PSV is aspiring to win the Eredivisie this season and Toivonen had already played for them in the Europa league which cup-tied him from all European competitions. PSV's coach Fred Rutten on Friday had also revealed that Toivonen is not for sale.
Roy Hodgson had admitted last week that he wanted to sign another striker before the summer transfer window ended. With this setback Roy will probably shift his focus back to EPL and try to recruit one of the strikers that had been linked with Liverpool including a return of Peter Crouch (who has not played in Europe) or Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Just because a player has played in the Europa league and is cup tied.If Liverpool wanted him they would bid. The europa league is by no means a priority. he would have more to offer in every other competion this season.

Liverpool Rumours
I read redandwhitekop.com - if you did you would be better informed on what is going on at Liverpool FC. I still maintain Huang is or was the ONLY offer. But Broughton and co and trying to get some of his funding for H&G. Huang would sooner walk away than give those two maggots a penny.
We have to hope RBS call in the loan and bankrupt the maggots - then the REAL players will come out to play to pick up the scraps.

Yeah? So do I, and their resident ITK's Bamba and DVC have been wrong all the way mate, read it properly pal, I reckon the club will be owned by someone that doesn't feel the need to do a 'one man band' impression up and down walton breck road. I reckon it will be owned by someone who upholds the conditions of the sale, eg, by signing the NDA. I also think the sale price will be higher than the reported 325million that KH offered. I reckon we've had a lucky escape. KH couldn't/ wouldn't provide details of his finances, funny isn't it, that someone who loves the sound of their own voice, and wanted the sale process to be 'absolutely transparent' goes all shy when asked about his financial backers, funding for new stadium, but more importantly, why he pulled out!
They guy's a charlatan who wanted to do no more than raise his own profile. .

Liverpool Rumours
Dirk Kuyt has confirmed that Liverpool have received a fax before the Europa League game from Inter regarding his availability. He was officially informed by the board. Roy did say that he spoke to Inter and was told that they won't be placing bids for any on the Liverpool players. Today The Sunday Mirror reports that Liverpool are preparing a bid for Bryan Ruiz. So Kuyt could still be on his way as he looks keen to re-unite with Rafa Benítez.

But I feel the the best part of all these dealings is that Liverpool are concentrating on football matters and the take over is probably more or less sorted and the so called turmoil regarding the take over is just media rubbish.

Everyone needs stop livin in a dreamworld. We are not buyin ashley young, swp, vdv, augero. If masch does get sold for anythin around 25 do we honestly think hicks an gillet would give us all the money spend on players as there in the middle of sellin the club? Me personally wud love to see sign like that cumin to anfield but we need 2 look at bit reality sometimes. Just lookin forward to the takeover which hopefully is the first step to somethin decent!

Just heard that Liverpool are considering to sign PSV Carlos Salcido if the Konchesky dead fails. Not a bad player he's quick, nd has a lot of experience would be an excellent signing and only 2million to 5 million cost

The Liverpool Way -

Rule 1: Each and Every player of LFC plays for ALL that the Shirt on their back stands for.

Rule 2: The shirt may come first but always remember it is an integral part in the LIFE of Each and Every Supporter of LFC.

Rule 3: Refer to Rules 1 & 2.

Let's keep it together and try not argue, whether supporting the team for a couple of years or a lifetime (which we all will end up doing :-) ), remember we are all part of what is LFC so,

Though our dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on walk on with hope in our heart
And we'll never walk alone

This is not a rumour, just a reflection on the outlandish prices people seem to hope we will pay for any given player. Real Madrid payed maybe a toatal of €30 Milliom (Thats Euros not Pounds for all ye Euro sceptics) for Sami Khedira & Mesut Ozil. Man City paid £25 (€30.5) for an ENGLISH player. The previos 2 mentioned were STARS of the worls cup Milner was substituted after 30 mins in his first game. How about we trust Roy in what the actual value of a player is and hope for a change we end up getting value for money ? For too long recently our beloved club has paid over the odds for donkeys. All this talk about Aguerro (we have no money) etc, I would be happy if we pay €2-10Mill for a guy who will put the ball in the net. It is not about how much money we can pay to hope someone wants to play for us, it's about paying someone (even at a small price) who WANTS to play for US.

Rant Over :-)

Im not sure whether you are making this up or not but Navas had trouble leacing his hometown for the world cup. I doubt he would be able to move to Liverpool. I think Ashley Young would only move back to London and not sure SWP would improve us anyway. Bobby Zamora would be a good addition I think as he would give us a good partner for Torres but also can play alone up front effectively as demonstrated at Fulham.

Although in all honesty i doubt Liverpool will sign any of the player mentioned above. Bit round the houses but hay ho.

Cheers

Roy is stupid for loanin out aquilani, he plays joe cole(who btw i rate) at the position where aquilani did realy well at the en of last session, pickin up a number of assists and 2 goals. joe cole is not playin well at that position from my point of view hes a natural winger who cuts in etc. .hes 28 and having to learn a new position!? (you can't teach a old dog new tricks!) aquaman is a natural AM and can create goals for torres better than joe (my opinion) because hes got vision. .but wht do i knw. anyway with aquilani out off the picture this season or until jan this would be the time to throw my guy dani pacheco into the deep end sessing as joe got himself a 3 match ban. And is it me or is one opportunity all Babel needs GO BABEL SHOW EMM!

Inter have made a 15 mil bid for Kuyt. Personally, I think that's a good deal for Liverpool, as Dirk is 30 and not a real winger. With the money from that deal we could bring in Arda Turan or Ashley Young.

Navas was cured of his chronic homesickness hence why he was at the World Cup.
He changed the game in the Final when he came on he was superb but i don't think we'll sign him.

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. I think we need Jesus Christ at the club at the minute not Jesus Navas. {editor's note - we have Jesus 'Suso' Fernandez (I think it's Fernandez anyway). Jesus Christ would be useless, he is scared of crosses ;o)}

First time poster, long time reader.This is not a rumour just a thought.Since all these comments about Mascherano wanting out and he does not have long left on his contract I was wondering why roy doesn't offer him to real madrid and ask for Lassana Diarra and Marcelo in exchange. . this way we would have a direct replacement for masc and a player who can play left back. . What ya think ed?

Great site by the way!

Garryboy
{Editor's note - It would depend on if Madrid were interested in him. They have a lot of midfielders at the club}
