these nikica jelavic rumours just keep getting stronger.
hibsylfc

Only cos people keep making it up, if west ham are interested then do you really think we are

Apparently dalglish is but commolli doesn't think its a good idea.RedTurk

I will be pissssssssed if he comes any where near this club

They keep getting stronger because people keep repeating them here and on other websites.I've seen no solid evidence that we have any interest at all.

Okay, to get this straight, the guy we are close to a 850k deal with is Joao Carlos Teixiera, not confused with David Texiera who we are also linked with however I very much doubt the latter is true and is most certainly just where people have got the players mixed up. Joao does not have a Wikipedia page so when people search Teixiera or Texiera the player it will show is him. I very much think this will be it until the summer, we may also buy one other player. I think whoever we buy will be 20 ish and more of an academy player then a starter- like Coates maybe. Anyways, great site, all the lads ask me where I get transfer knowledge from when I told me bout Teixiera the day before the rumous of a deal were announced. Poor souls, they think Bent and Defoe are on the cards!

22 Jan 2012 23:00:50
think we need to raid dortmund they have some serious quality

Are u serious? Dortmund are a team on the up, Fighting for the league, Will get champions league football so they will more than likely be able to keep lewandowski, kagawa, goetze, subotic etc... even if they were to leave they wouldnt sign for liverpool, most of the top teams in europe are after those players and they can all offer top european football, liverpool are struggling to get into the europa league. not gonna happen im afraid.

Including their manager.

22 Jan 2012 22:21:22
Hi eds, do Liverpool actually have any interest in signing Krasic? {Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry.}

No we don't.

22 Jan 2012 22:45:36
Hi ed's cerci of fiorentina becoming available, looks a good player,manchini was going to sacrifice adam johnson for him that say's it all would he be a great signing?

If he's now available then Mancini can sacrifice Johnson now and sign him can't he?

22 Jan 2012 22:42:28
I know its unlikely but we should try and get tevez, I know he's trouble but every team that he's been at hes scored goals! Also eds anything happened with krasic to us? {Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

He does not want to play in england. get over it, he is not and never will be a target

We've got enough problems without adding Tevez to them!

I thought that he said he hated Manchester not England?

22 Jan 2012 22:42:21
Mark my words

LFC. Are on the verge of signing Jelavic, it isn't what you want to hear but he's our main target. The deal for Groningen's Texiera has collapsed. Not very exciting news but the only valid news on this site apart from opinions.

Remember my words and remember the name......

Simon.B

Well that's me completely convinced. Thanks.

Simon says .
redforever

He is not a target, valid news i think not, the only people linking him with us is twitter

Why would we want to buy anything from the SPL (semi professional league) they are nothing more than championship players

Yes your correct, jelavic isnt good enough for Liverpool. so that only means dalglish will be interested in him :( and most likely to offer something stupid like 10 million .. We at liverpool must surely have the worst scouts in premership..

22 Jan 2012 22:18:30
Hi ed's great site

just wondering is there any chance of javi martinez of athletic bilbao, now or in the summer ?

thanks if you reply {Ed001's Note - unfortunately no.}

22 Jan 2012 21:34:06
I reckon Krasic will join on loan for the rest of the season and if he does well we will buy him summer. If he doesn't we will buy Adam Johnson. Other players I think we will sign in summer are Eriksen and De Jong.

What chance do you give these players of signing Ed? {Ed002's Note - The summer is too far off to say.}

22 Jan 2012 21:32:50
Phillip Jelavic's father

"I think It's most likely he will sign for Liverpool"

hope he doesnt and that his father is just trying to get everyones eyes on the player hes not liverpool quality!

Liverpool are not considering him

Definitely a Liverpool player, and is "Liverpool quality" Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson etc.?

Andy carrol is not livepool quality i agree but we need a quality striker not a striker that looks good playing in a poor league against poor defenders i might be wrong but i havnt seen him score a good goal from outside the box

He better that the options we have Carroll maybe used as a bit of a scapegoat but has been terrible kuyt he need too move on. Hopefully when sureaz comes back he will put a few in

J.s

Yeah and my father told me Messi will most likely sign for Liverpool over close rivals Wigan...

Look on utube he scored an amazing out side of the box bicycle kick

Personally I think Jelavic is a good player yes the SPL is weak but u still got to put the ball in the net and he has shown that he can do that after Saturdays performance we need to change something

His name is Nicika not Philip

As a Rangers and Liverpool fan I can assure you that Jelavic is good enough to play for the Reds, I know a lot of you people who don't watch Scottish football and only get little bits of news about our game think it's not up to much, but he is deceptively quick and a very intelligent player, in my opinion he would make an ideal foil for Suarez, and would work harder as a target man than Carroll does. He has improved since coming to us and with playing with undoubtedly better quality players at Liverpool would only improve again

22 Jan 2012 21:32:47
hi EDs are we going in for kevin de bruyne , he look the sort of player we need , looks like a great player with loads of potential {Ed002's Note - No, there is no interest.}

22 Jan 2012 21:01:21
Hey questions for Ed001 -

I noticed you recommended the Chilean players Medel and Isla do you know of any interest in these two, have there teams been watched etc. or was it just your own views ?

Particulary on Isla cause in the 5 - 6 times i've seen him, he has looked a really tidy player with great delivery and the abilty to play basically anywhere!

Cheers for any reply {Ed001's Note - just my opinion sorry, I would love us to get both.}

Unfortunately what Ed001 wants LFC don't get!

dmedly {Ed001's Note - that's true, I never seem to get my wishlist players!}

22 Jan 2012 20:56:33
Hi eds keep your good work it is a wonderful site it keeps me going and positive, a question to the eds where is angel di maria? do you still think we are getting a striker or anyone because the window is in the last third?
thanks
hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - Di Maria is at Real MAdrid. He is not an option. I suspect a player or two will arrive.}

Thanks ed002 maybe I worded my question wrongly I meant he has not been playing is he injured or has he fallen out of favour? thankyou
hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - He has a slight injury and will miss a couple of games.}

22 Jan 2012 20:48:29
I personally would move for Junior Hoilett, Scot Sinclair and move for Moussa Sow before Fenerbache get him!

Come on KK and DC! Act now please.

22 Jan 2012 20:21:39
Hey ed just curious if our connection / relationship with Juventus could help us get Krasic if we are interested as we loaned them Aqua in the previous season ?

Cheers & Great work {Ed002's Note - Paying the money they want would help get him.}

22 Jan 2012 19:43:26
Just wondering if there is any chance of aquilani coming back.. He was our best player pre season and we could do with him at the moment. {Ed002's Note - Let's assume not.}

Id rather not have him

ste

Top player

Probs one of the best midfielders we have

Never proved self in prom great player with time on ball doesnt get that in prem

He is miles better than charlie addam

22 Jan 2012 19:35:59
This Ricky van Ricky van Wolfswinkel guy... (sorry, I have to chuckle every time I say his name)

Is'nt he a bit lightweight for the premiership?

You need heavyweights for the epl? We could recruit a couple of american wrestlers to play up front for us, you know.

BooDaBooze

He's got pace and eye for goal. He's also got Van in his name which I think might be a clue as to him being a really good player.
Let's face it there's been some great Vans over the years and still is.

22 Jan 2012 19:31:47
After what i saw yesterday kenny need retract his statement saying "They wont be busy in the transfer window but the youth will!" It was a shambles ive criticised liverpool when they've failed to score but always say well we played good football, but we didnt even do that yesterday.

ED(s)whats happening with this david texiera from gronigen?have we declared interest?Does it look likely we will sign him or not?

ACHILLES. {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any confirmed interest, but it does not mean it is not there.}

22 Jan 2012 19:03:37
Hi ed/s. What the reason behind Johnson's imminent departure in the summer? Is he unhappy at the club or do they just want to cash in on him and move him on?

Cheers once again guys

{Ed001's Note - he is being paid 90k a week, that is the main reasoning behind getting rid.}

In fairness ed selling an international player because he is on big wages doesnt make sense to me and if that is the main reason (which i doubt) it shows lack of ambition going forward {Ed001's Note - no, it shows that we won't waste money on paying big wages to a player who is not as good as the youth player coming through. Seems like good sense to me.}

If thats the case, LFC has no ambition {Ed001's Note - no, it shows they have sense. Only an idiot pays someone over the odds when there is no need. We have Kelly who is a better player, why hold on to an overpaid Johnson who has had one good game all season?}

Johnson has been our best player this year, the current top four pay benchwarmers and loan players out who are earning more. The reason Johnson might move is LFC ambitions

If Kelly's the better player, why is KK not playing him ahead of Johnson

Surely you can't attract players if you're gonna pay them peanuts. True players who really wanna play for the club won't care too much about the wages but world class players command big bucks and it's the class players who'll win the club trophies {Ed002's Note - Ed001 made the point about the younger players coming through - in this case Flangan and Kelly and that is where clubs would all like to get to. It is not going to be a case of bringing in "world class players" for every position.}

If Kelly is the better player why is Johnson picked ahead of him every week? Owners demanding he must play if he is on those wages? {Ed002's Note - The owners do not pick the team.}

Kelly in my opinion is better, more solid and can deliver from overlap. And rather than cutting in he whips it in. (which with Enrique on the other side doing the same suits Carroll. What I can not understand is why not try him on the Right wing. (any idea's Eds {Ed016's Note - It is a mystery to me, perhaps he can not cross his fingers. I think more likely Kelly will be used in a more central role now, Kelly and Coates for the future}

So the owners don't pick the team as we know. But the obviously sell them ie Johnson coz he's on £90k a week.

Johnson is picked coz he has a clause in his contract if fit he must play

He doesn't deserve nor earn that sort of money he's a joke john Barnes on tv yesterday looked slimmer and fitter, get rid of those who don't want to earn the right to wear the red shirt.

Kelly I think is deffo future CB, and possible club captain. If the intention is to play him CB, then Flanagan is another of couple of years away from being good enough at RB. So if they sold Johnson they would have to replace him anyway, once you paid agent fee's, signing on fee's and still high wages you might as well keep Johnson

I seriously worry about the state of some fans' mental well being if they think Glen Johnson is a good player let alone 'player of the season'.
Season after season I have sat and watched him underperform. He is weak defensively, and when he does get forward there is no end product. Don't believe he can play because he's an England international. So is Gareth Barry. And Andy Carroll.
Johnson is poor. Kelly deserves his chance. And young Flano proves to be looking great for the future.

Plus kelly is a much better defender , younger , and he looks like he could be our right back for years to come .
redforever

Kelly is a future CB but he can play RB if Johnson goes until he is ready to take over at CB and flanagan is ready to take over at RB. Johnson is replaceable.

Eds is this true? If Johnson is fit he has to be selected coz it's in his contract?!

If so contracts go alot further than I originally thought! {Ed001's Note - it is a very common practice, Joe Cole had a similar clause.}

I agree with the eds. Why pay someone big bucks when we have a better player in that position? It doesn't show lack of ambition, but clever thinking. The money saved can be reinvested in to others' wages. If we were light in the RB department it would seem a bewildering decision.

What is the reason behind his imminent departure?
How about....he cant f***ing defend!
I thought that would normally be important for a full back?!
5uarezTimes

I know I'm just gonna start something now, (sorry Ed's), but isn't Carroll on 90k/week as well? If we need to move on players who are earning too much then way offer such a high contract to a new one... {Ed001's Note - no, nothing like that much, our new players were not given huge contracts.}

The fact he is paid 90k a week is a joke but it should be the second reason for getting rid and not the main, the main should be that he is one of the worst defenders in the division.
the doctor

Sell him and buy Van de Viel. Kelly will be a top centre back!

Am I missing something here but didn't we sign Johnson to a new contract recently? I remember him and Commoli in the Echo, within the last few months, with Commoli stating about keeping and rewarding our best players. If this is true(which i'm certain it is) why is getting rid of him being mooted, what is going on? can one of the Eds try to clarify please...for the record I think he's a good, skillful player, but sometimes lazy and ponderous.

David {Ed001's Note - I was told it was just an extension he signed, rather than a new contract.}

So eds is Johnson leaving? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps in the summer.}

I am backing lfc on the decision of showing johnson the door because the way he has been playing recently would in my books earn him no pounds not 90k, for that amount you should be running your guts out.
hibsylfc

Great isnt it. Lets sell a player on high wages..
Nando, Aquilani, Mereiles,Suarez, Alonso, Masch, Keane, Garcia, Carra?, Gerrard?, Johnson?, Reina?
Why dont we just sell the ground and the history while we're at it?
We could merge with Everton and save a bit more money. After all, nice John and Tom aren't in it for fun, are they? {Ed001's Note - are you trying to be dense? You sell a player on high wages when you have a player who can do at least as good a job on less. We are in the lucky position of having a far superior right back in Kelly on much lower wages. Anyone with a brain, would that include you I wonder, would say it makes sense to get rid of Johnson in this position.}

Where did all this about him leaving come from?

Btw what johnson is this, adam from city or glen from liverpool??

If what you say about him being on £90,000 a week being one of the reasons to get rid of him is true, then why give him even a contract extension on i'd imagine the same or similar money? It's not like he only had eighteen months left and we were in danger of losing him on a Bosman. All it means now is if he doesn't fancy a move anywhere else, then we are paying him silly money for an even longer period than before. Not many clubs are gonna pay £90,000 a week wages, plus transfer fee for a RB, especially if he plays like he did on saturday.

David {Ed001's Note - but clubs have shown an interest in him, and his contract was shorter than the club would like. Once you get down below 2 years, it then puts pressure on everyone to make a decision, if he then decides not to sign a new contract or extension, well then his value is immediately lowered massively. To be fair, last season he did enough to earn a contract, he was excellent on the left. The problem is that he has not looked half the player since moving back to the right, he is not living up to his own standards.}

As I understand it, he's not being rated highly by his own teammates and has fallen out with Gerrard and Carra quite a lot. Add the 90k a week paycheck that he collects for no good reason and the total lack of ambition in general. Plus, he never really came to love the club like most of the players blessed with opportunity to serve it in the past. So there you go. I have to agree with Tris regarding Kelly. If he can stay injury free for a whole season, I say it's more then a fair choice.
-=Solar=-

Fairy muff, can't argue with that. Shame if we're lumbered with a player on an over inflated four year contract though, rather than just an over inflated two year contract.

David

Even more so than young Flanagan(who to be fair looks a great future player),young McLaughlin from the u18's looks even better...looks like he can be a top draw player.i like johnson but he's not good enough to justify that money.even if we sold Johnson for 10mill,bought someone for 15mill on say 60grand a week we'd be no worse off but hopefully Kelly could fill in till the two kids are fully ready and he can take his place at centre half...

When Kelly is established in team and also in the England set up, then he can go and knock on Kenny's door and demand 90k a week and then we can get rid of him? Sounds to me like someone's making this up again! Have Half the idiots on here ever watched Barcelona.

Coming in in this window:
Krasic (loan with a view to buy)
Joao Teixeira (£850k, done)
Hoillet (£7m)
and although liverpool weren't going to move until the summer, its now being brought forward, the move for:
Soldado (£25m)

Ste.G.
YNWA J4T96

I would love if this were to happen.

Utter BS!

I hope you are right about soldado
the wise one

Why would we want soldado... We have carroll. *laughs*

I think if this does happen Liverpool would have a great chance of finishing in the top four and also we will have a decent striker and a decent attacking mid and Krasic would be a good winger to play here PLEASE BE TRUE

We have just spent £52m in strikers why would we possibly need another unless you are not confident in dalglish/commollis buys ?

Possibly the first 3 but you ruined with the Soldado link he wont move till the summer
Josh

I would be delighted with the first 3. Soldado aswell and I'll be doing cartwheels.Just don't see it happening though.

22 Jan 2012 18:40:31
hi eds got a question but im just wondering who you believe will be shipped out this transfer window or the summer? {Ed002's Note - Is suspect Kuyt, Johnson and Maxi in addition to the loanees Cole, Aquilani and Amoo the summer.}

Why Johnson, been our best player this year

Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Suarez and now Gerrard have all played better than him this season.

He's on incredibly high wages when Kelly does a better job (in my opinion)

Hans

I agree johnson should be sold kelly does an excellent job and flanagan is a brilliant back up in my opinion

Johnsons on high wages kelly is better.
Sell him or involve a swap deal.
BUT the thing is wer loosing 2 ENGLISH players in glen n Cole.
Hope we do sign 1 or 2 Brit players in Summer BUT hav to be quality.

F5

'Brit' meaning English, all other British regions count as non-homegrown for some reason. Charlie Adam is one of our 17 permitted non-homegrowners.

TSP {Ed001's Note - it is teams affiliated to the English FA, nothing to do with a players nationality, just the team they are registered to between the ages of 16-21.}

22 Jan 2012 18:36:36
According to my mate, who works as one of the groundsmen at Mellwood, we are selling Carroll, Kuyt and Maxi for at total of 23.5 million. And with that money, plus 15 million we are getting Honda form CSKA Moskva for 9 million and De Rossi from Roma for 32.5 million as a replacement for Lucas.

32.5 on a replacement - how much does that make Lucas worth!?

I like the sound of Honda but we still need a proven goal scorer!

Don't think we are going to spend 32.5 million on a player like de rossi when we have enough midfielders as it is.

Y would we replace Lucas

Ste liverpool

Lol like de rossi is worth that, keep dreaming

Unless your mate works on the board this is rubbish! Souts and coaches are as much in the dark as the rest of us?

Wtf de rossi for 32.5 million. where the fk do u think we'll get all that money from. {Ed016's Note - student loans}

We can all dream

I think if anyone was to pay that it would be City and it doesn't even look like they can capture him. What chance have we got? I'd love Honda personally.

De Rossi is out of contract soon anyway isn't he?

De Rossi has 6 months remaining on his contract. Even if the club were monitoring him, 32.5 mil on a player with 6 months remaining on his contract is ridiculous

We do not need to spend £32.5 million on a replacement for a few months, lucas is class
the wise one

What proven goalscorer we have carroll... His better than pele.

LOL! Another Italian disaster for 32 million? LMAO!!

BooDaBooze

Honda has a very dodgy knee, doubt we'll risk that!

For sure transfers would be discussed with groundsman at a training facility, at least make up something semi believable and leave a name.
the doctor

Because it's always the groundsmen who are the first to know isn't it. I doubt the bloke mowing the grass is even in the loop in his own family setup, never mind in Liverpool's house transfer dealings.

David

I would be more inclined to believe this if you could spell Melwood correctly.

22 Jan 2012 18:27:47
Darren bent Liverpools new number 10 by wednesday morning

Would love this to happen but very much doubt it

How did you find this out ?

Id rather get rush to lace up his old boots and stick him in. i bet he still has more pace than carrol and would defo be more loyal than bent.

Won't happen, seriously no where near good enough. kidmillions

No where near good enough? 100 Premier League goals, compared to Kuyt and Carrol he is f***** Pele!

If it is to be Bent then so be it as long as it is not more than 15 mil....the man can score goals and he could form a pretty good partnership with Carrol....I think it would be a good move.Pinhead.Y.N.W.A {Ed016's Note - If we got Bent for a good price then I would not complain, but it is January, Villa wouldnt take less than what they paid}

Couldn`t agree more edo16. To be fair to the lad he has scored goals wherever he has played....but january transfer windows .....expensive!PinheadY.N.W.A

Can't hack the pressure at big clubs, overrated, overpriced, if we buy him it will nearly rival carrol as the ultimate panic buy.

David

22 Jan 2012 18:27:37
hi eds do you think there could be a chance lfc go in for drenthe in the summer? seems like a decent player who could improve the squad {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off and Liverpool have had the opportunity to buy Drenthe in the past. To me it is unlikely.}

If he can't even get into a s**te Everton team why the hell would we want him? what next, £20 million for Hibbert and Osman?

22 Jan 2012 18:26:50
instead of pulling names out of a hat i think the two players weneed and could possibly afford or that would possibly come are the two texeiras and eriksen. eriksen would be perfect but would be 20 mil+ but he is a talent and we could get 10+ years of football. Plus the striker texeira is a proven goal scorrer and is young. opinions?

Eriksen is a frigging softie. He does not believe that he can cut it in the epl. No balls to get stuck in. Nope, but no thanks. We need a playmaker who can also get stuck in. He is a farking pussy.

Hi guys!

Not really an LFC post but interesting never the less! recently acquired a source high up in Blackburn and been told that LFC are looking at hoillet, My source said that he was astonishingly talented and BRFC have consequently offered him a 60K a week deal, However due to his father living in canada and him consequently having little loyalty to the club he could well be moving in the summer( they wont accept a bid this winter). In other news Samba wont be sold( not till the summer) but he will not be playing first team football he will be playing in the reserves as punishment till the end of the season. Please post

The wise rigglet

So, they will hang on to Hoilett and then lose him for nothing when his contract runs out? That's what your source told you?

What will cost Blackburn more - being relegated or losing a quality player in the summer after he has helped to keep them up? And if they stay up they might convince him to stay in the summer!

What has his father living in Canada got to do with it?

utter rubbish.

YS

Why would they risk it by putting their best defender and captain in the reserves? I don't see their defense being better with Samba missing.

The logic escapes me! Hoilet's contract is up at the end of the season so how much will they get for him then? As for both keeping Samba but not playing him recalls the ancient saying about cutting off your nose to spite your face!

The source also said that blackburn will have a lot of money to spend come the summer(assuming) they stay up, so their hopeful that they can persuade him to stay, that and he is only 19 so he needs time to develop. Definite interest from lfc, not a quiz to work out who it is. Why would blackburn want to sell samba? Think of the clubs who would be interested in buying him(all rivals). Same source who said lfc didn't pay 20 mil for hendo. Trust me.

Any more info ill keep you updated.

Wise rigglet

Hoilett wont go for free in the summer.Blackburn will still recieve a settlement payment for him because he's younger than 24 and came through their academy system!probly just as worth their while keeping him till the summer than selling him now...

Have heard that Chelsea are getting closer to signing hazard and Liverpool are first in line to sign.....jelavic (wow!) (excuse the sarcasm!)

If we go in for jelavic it shows how low our ambition real is , why are we going for target men all the time

Do we have an Oil baron bankrolling the club? - No. So why the sarcasm?

Jelavic is a lot more than a target man, his form has suffered recenlty as he is playing in a side bereft of confidence. But i wouldn't underestimate his quality. He may surprise a few people. He doesnt have lightning pace but he is very skillfull and a very good finisher.

Oh ffs - successful in the SPL?! wow, my gran would be a success in that mickey mouse league.
god help us if we end up with him!

YS

Well hazard is great young talent, but liverpool must secure the champion league spot first before trying to sign him plus well i think probably liverpool want to buy him 20-25+joe cole

You got to give up any ideas about Hazard moving to Liverpool. What u say Ed ? {Ed002's Note - Hazard will not be making the move tro Liverpool.}

22 Jan 2012 17:38:45
Jelavic's father, Philip, says his son is holding out for a move to Liverpool, rather than West Ham or QPR. Dont hold your breath son !

Hopefully his father will be holding out forever! Kenny please don't go there. In fact don't think Kenny is going anywhere regarding tranfers. Isn't it boring....

I would still play before i would carroll though! the only thing to turn it around is the headline "liverpool bid for sow"

Hi Ed(s)

Do these Krasic rumours have legs?

Is he getting a game at Juve?

Havent seen it in any papers or websites (not that ive been looking that much)

If it is true that he is a target, is it possible that we will move in this window?

Would Juve be willing to loan, or for that matter even sell him?

Also would he be willing to make the move to us having been public in recent years about a desired move to Man United..

Any insight on this would be great! I'd welcome a move for a player of this quality especially after last nights abysmal display

Thanks
RedHawk

{Ed002's Note - Try using the serach function please.}

Try using the search function? Doubt it would be much use to the questions ive asked, I keep updated regular on this site an not that much info about krasic has gone in.

wow Dempsey is on fire. I wish I could write a rumour that he is in a deal coming to Anfield with Carrol going the other way +5 mil.

Come on kenny they speak the same language that's close enough isn't it?!

merka.

You are a muppet

Are you joking? £5 million plus a 23 year old striker (who we paid £35 million for) with tons of potential for a near 30 year old?

So you are valuing a 30 year old at £40 mill? Thank God you don't actually have any influence on our transfer deals!

You've got to stop letting Clint Dempsey's agent onto the web site. The very thought of this overage, overrated yard dog coming to Liverpool makes me feel slightly bilious.

eds, any interest in Anthony Pilkington of norwich
adel taarabt ,marc albrighton ? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

Would love to see Albrighton come in. He's a bit raw yet, but I think could be very good in the not too distant future.

Pilkington has done really well at Norwich but is not good enough for Liverpool!

22 jan 2012 16:34:29
all i'm gonna say if real madrid are after suarez, dlglish should use his common sense and swap him for callejon and higuian because higuian is under rated at real.
or buy lavezzi and soldado

And you know these players all want to join us on wage packages that would be acceptable to the club?

Kieran

If real want Suarez, and if he does want to go, then we want higuain and ozil, and £10mil nothing less, that's the only deal I would accept.

Id love higuian to come to us.

This ain't FIFA mate.

latest news that we are goig to put a bid in for falco for considerable amount of money and dirk kuyt any news ed ? and if not will we be making any last minuite buys ?
{Ed002's Note - Twitter I assume.}

No from a reliable source at LFC academy and could you answer my last question as on here we seem to be linked to every player known. {Ed002's Note - Ok. Don't hold your breath over Falcao moving to Liverpool this month.}

We should have got him insted of carroll

What reliable source? name them? you can't because it's just another lie you made up in your tiny little brain again. Go see a shrink! {Ed016's Note - Go see anger management}

breaking news
i have good authority that liverpool fc will announce the signing of 2 players by next friday and by the 31st of january two more in total 4

they will be
jaoa texeira tuesday 24th
milos krasic friday 27th
david texeira sunday 29th
eastaben granero tuesday 31st

mark my words if i dont be write i will reveal my source and his details then you could slate him but i am 100% sure these will happen

john w henrys right hander

Hopefully its true

I enjoy your brazen confidence in providing us with dates.
Brilliant

Mate you've literally just picked the best players we've been linked with on the transfer rumours section of the LFC website, john henry's right hand man my a*se

Liverpool will not sign anyone in this transfer window. there being linked with every player under the sun and who are they going to be linked with next lionel messi ? its all rubbish

I dont believe this post but would be very happy if it come true
SETH

Lads stop being so negative we will sign at least someone just have patience like the rest of us lmfao

Have they not already signed jaoa texeira,if so you better say who ur source is then {Ed002's Note - No, not yet.}

This may sound pretentious, but judging by the grammar and spelling, the individual that posted this is not close to JH's right hand man. If someone were that close they would work or circulate in similar circles.. The only assumption is that the poster uses too much right hand!

All that would be nice, Kenny will probably sign one or two. One on loan definitely and give them a run out for ten minutes per game. But you really need to learn simple gramma and spelling. Just saying.

Perhaps the punctuation buttons on the poster's keyboard are broken. However, if he is a little more specific with the actual times of the transfers, then I will buy him a new one out of my winnings from the bookies. Hope this is agreeable mate.

What a load of sh**e,right hand man, ha ha ha ha ,cheered me right up

John henery's right hand man? Don't you mean left hand man.

Hmmm! The fact that none of these players are 'British talents' tells that, either you are a sick-rat-head posting deluding comments, or KK has made a u-turn of philosophy after the Bolton defeat (I just hope the later is true).

Ashu

John henrys back hander more like

Go and stick a tenner on it. the odds must be great {Ed016's Note - If sky sports says so, then they want you to bet on it, I do not believe anything they say until there is proof}

More like JW's left hander

You've obviously been listening to too much Craig David.

Strange...This rumour has some creativity at least...

I see that we are linked with Wolfswinkel according to the Mirror therefore it is probably not true. Ed do you think we may try and get DeJong this month rather than wait until the summer based on recent performances?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I don't know Chris. He appears to be off the list for Lille and Newcastle had an offer rejected.}

Mirror is as bad as the S*n

22 Jan 2012 15:47:51
im sorry a lot of people didnt like my post regarding the journalist and his legal reasons,wonder if a few of the haters feel the same way after yesterdays result!anyway my source believes we are trying desperately to sign a striker but have been quoted ridiculous money for 2 targets.He also believes the jelavic rumours to be old recycled stories and says we will sign krasic and texeira in the week

Jelavic is a 2mill pen taker

22 Jan 2012 15:43:04
Alberto Aquilani on loan in Italy and doesn't want to return

Milos Krasic not in Juventus plans.

Surely a deal could be made between the clubs for a swap?

{Ed002's Note - No. Aquilani is at Milan signed to a contract to will probably see him make the move permanent.}

Some people just havnt got a clue

We cud try offering Aqua+Kuyt+cash for PATO in summer?

22 Jan 2012 15:41:56
Texeira scored for Groningen today
Any latest news eds?
Bean {Ed002's Note - I really have no confirmation of Liverpool interest.}

22 Jan 2012 15:35:31
whats happend to our interest in de jong eds he scored 2 yesterday? {Ed002's Note - It appears to be on the back burner right now.}

I agree De Jong is an excellent player of high quality - far more so than a lot of the names being touted around.

Hes young but looks experianced (if you know what i mean) and composed on the ball and isnt afraid to try new things e.g he scored an overhead kick a few weeks back he looks like he has a big future ahead of him hopefully at liverpool {Ed001's Note - he wants to make sure of his place in the Holland squad, doesn't want a move in January.}

De Jong will be a summer target

22 Jan 2012 15:32:02
Eds Is it true Kenny is looking at Steve Morrison from Norwich? Hope not but I have some people (no sources as such) just random people saying it is a done deal

Even if this was true i seriously doubt he would be the prefered choice over Grant Holt

What?? He only just gets in the Norwich team??

22 Jan 2012 15:15:44
J. Defoe starts for Tottenham and scores. Put that transfer possibility to bed please. Adam Johnson did not start. Surely he's ours for the taking.

Cynical red

And with an person centre back like City fielded today Defoe scoring wasn't any surprise! Yup Johnson's ours for the taking just like Daniel Sturridge who isn't and never was for sale!

22 Jan 2012 15:04:41
After dempsey's hat-trick yesterday do you think we might be interseted in him? Knows how to score

I smashed in 4 yesterday for my pub, i reckon i will get the nod then on that basis, sheeeessssh!

KNEE JERK

Dempsey is a decent player but he's 30 now and the talk is that even if Fulham were willing to sell [ which they aren't ] they'd be looking for around £15 mill for him.That's a none starter! {Ed001's Note - he is 28!}

22 Jan 2012 14:58:05
These true eds?

1) Liverpool are in pole position to sign Nikica Jelavic as English interest in the Croatia striker intensifies, BBC Scotland understands.

2) Liverpool have emerged as contenders to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, with the player's father claiming that Anfield is his son's preferred destination.

3) Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid ahead of a bid to sign midfielder Esteban Granero.

4) Liverpool and Manchester United target Ricky van Wolfswinkel is a wanted man - with Lazio ready to make a £13million bid for the Sporting Lisbon star this month.

5) Liverpool are trying to snatch Juventus winger Milos Krasic on a loan deal.

Please post

Would love Van Wolfswinkel but cant see it happening sadly

Don't know if were interseted d texierria but he's playing today and has scored for groningen! Just thought I'd let u know! DHH L20 scouser

22 Jan 2012 14:42:13
Plz ed's? Can u tell me that we aren't interested in jelavic? Don't forget kenny miller, chris boyd scored a lot of goals for rangers and they are championship players at best! The scottish league is poor! And if we have ambitions of a top 4 spot again, then we must sign better quality! Inter were interested in kuyt not long ago, surely a swap involving forlan and kuyt is best for both teams! Nice1 ed's! DHH L20 scouser Y..N..W..A

How good is the Dutch league from where we signed Suarez? How good is the Mexican league from where Hernandez was signed? How good is Major League Soccer, where Dempsey played? It doesn't matter where someone is scoring a s**tload of goals, it just matters that they ARE scoring a s**tload of goals. Jelavic has got 17 already this season. He is a poacher/finisher and we bloody well need one of those at the moment! He's worth taking a punt on if the price is right. JHiggs.

Where did King Kenny come from ? Steve Nicol, Alan Hansen Souness to name a couple Answers on a postcard please ??

22 Jan 2012 13:59:22
Not at all a rumour, but are Madrid still interested in Glen Johnson? They were last Summer i believe and Mourinho has always been a fan. I strongly believe Kelly could be better if he played more, Flanagan is adequate back up, and Johnson is does not perform well enough to justify his wages.
Should Madrid still be interested, I'd be tempted to ask for £10m + Granero.
This would solve our lack of creativity and allow us to reinvest the Money into a striker or winger.
I have no source, i'm just playing a hunch haha!

YNWA! (Adam)

I've never seen Martin Kelly turn in a bad performance, if only i could say/type the same about Glenn ''£100,000+ a week'' Johnson.

Granero i don't believe will help us, we need a holding midfielder and we don't have one. We have a headless chicken though, named Jordan Henderson.

I would say that if anyone were to make a decent offer for Johnson, he will be sold. Big wage, awful player.
But I don't see anyone making an offer

Johnson is hot and cold, he is very impressive going forward but as we know he is a liability at times in defence.

Kelly playing behind at right back with Johnson playing a more advanced right wing position, might be best for all.

Johnson is very attacking and got the winner at Chelsea. He at times is Liverpool's most attacking player, he needs to be utilized in attack.

We also have some morans, at least one posting on here. Henderson was one of a very small number of players that came out of yesterdays game with any credit.He has been the best of last summers signings without doubt.

Henderson the best of last Summer's signings, better than Enrique? Don't think so. Been looking a lot better since Gerrard came back and may go on to do a Lucas and win us all over in the months to come. Agree about Johnson, been saying it since we signed him and he kept leaving Carra exposed down our right, at his best he surprises win how good he can be, at his worst, he's an absolutely woeful defender. Why Kenny won't try him on the right ahead of Kelly is beyond us all.

No reason for Madrid to go for Johnson, they've got Arbeloa who's on lower wages and is more used to the culture/style of football, etc. Not to mention Ramos can play rb comfortably. Johnson would likely take a while to settle in and set them back around 10m at the least. Not worth it. If he does go I suspect it will be to Chelsea in the summer, as they look to rebuild their defence. I personally don't want us to sell him; our decline began when we sold Alonso and Mascherano, we sold Torres as well and seem to be fast gaining a reputation as a club whose best players are willing to move on. Kelly wouldn't have scored the goal that Glen scored against Chelsea, and though talented is behind Richards, Smalling, Jones and Walker in terms of English fullbacks. The top of that list? Johnson. We shouldn't sell imo

Red Ollie {Ed002's Note - Johnson will not be going back to Chelsea.}

Kelly better in defense while enrique good in offensive

Nikica Jelavic's father says Rangers striker is holding out for Liverpool move and confirms interest from Liverpool...
Jelavic? Really really? Smh.

Oh dear god!

When teams such as West Ham are also after him, you realise just how far we have fallen.
The SPL is a joke league and i could be a top scorer in it.

I personally believe Jelavic is our 'stand by' choice. In case no one else targeted is for sale.

Sow being at the African Nations will have killed Liverpool's interest i believe. No inside information, just reason and logic, and a lack of a bid from Liverpool, so far; supports my theory about Sow.

M8 dont knock scottish football if you dont watch it,you couldnt score in a barrel of fannies.

Im sure i said the following weeks ago.

There is rumours coming out of Rangers that Liverpool are showing high interest in jelavic. Or something along those lines and I got laughed at..

I am praying that he does not arrive at lfc...

Over rated pen scorer Rangers are desparate to get rid {Ed001's Note - he never confirmed interest from Liverpool, he said his lad wants to go there and would hold out for a move to the likes of Liverpool as he has too much ambition to move to a Championship team.}

If you dont want jelavic because of the standard of the spl,yous already have a player that coudnt get a game for rangers,nobodys any good outside your precious overpriced,overhyped epl the money wont always be there the bubble will burst some time,remember serie A.

Spot on u aint gta clue mate! scottish football may not be great but rangers will always be a bigger club than liverpool, stick wiv ur charlie adams n danny wilsons who cudnt buy a game for rangers!

I suppose the biggest problem with liverpool is scoring vs lower league teams. I'm sure Jelavic would score?

hi Eds
a have heard a few people chatting about Patricio Rodriguez , some sort of Argentinian playboy that may have been looked at by LFC .
I have never heard of him ?
Is he any good and is there any interest ?

HC 76 {Ed002's Note - Everyone took a look at Independiente's Patricio Rodriguez as he has been hawked around Europe all of this year without much luck. Benfica seemed the most likely destination.}

Awesome player

22 Jan 2012 13:44:02
Talk Sport say that after yesterdsys disspaioting result kenny wil sign 2 or 3 reinforcments in january i expect them to be

granero
krasic
texeira-joao and david

We will have to if we want 4th place hopefully they will be good. We need pace, creativity and finishing. Adam is not good enough and carrol doesnt fit our style of play hopefully we can sell these and kuyt and maxi and buy some good replacements

That's 4!

I agree that we need new faces in....but i am not being cheeky regarding the Carroll comment, what IS our style of play?

Big-murdo

If we're after finishing and creativity, why sell Maxi? He is one of our technically best players and is always in the right place at the right time to score.

TSP

Um Both texeiras look set to join, its up to which winger we will sign probably krasic on loan and hoilett in summer my guess

I think Krasic would be a good loan signing

Just heard from a mate who works in melwood and summer target is Falcao, took it with a pinch of salt but he got suarez right last year..

Falcao moved for 35m to Atletico and has been excellent there. I really doubt Liverpool will be willing to dish out the 50m+ that would be needed to land him.

Why did u take it with a pinch of salt
If he got Suarez right last year?!

That would surely mean he's prob
Gonna get this one right?! NOT

I'll prob add some chips to that salt
As well.

Suarez coming to us last year was much publisied most people knew he was coming

Well i hope it will be true but atl madrid just bought him last summer, so i think now way he up for sale unless for a very good price

22 Jan 2012 13:22:16
Eds, are we looking at cover for Lucas in this window, even a loan, or are we sticking to Spearing/possibly Flanagan?

Keith {Ed002's Note - I am not sure Flanagan will be used as cover, but there is no intention to bring anyone in to cover for Lucas as far as we know.}

Flanagan the LB to cover CDM

Are you sure your a liverpool supporter?

LFCHero :)!

Cheer Ed. I knew there was talk that Flanagan was being tried out in the DM position a while ago and just wondered, as he did well against City before, didn't he, although in the RB position admittedly?

Keith

Sorry my mistake for above ment to put RB

LFCHero :)!

We do need someone to come in and fill the void, we lost Mascherano, never replaced him, we have now lost Lucas for the remainder of the season and we don't look to be replacing or even reinforcing that position. It's suicide and that a lone cost us two goals yesterday.

Liverpool spent big money on the midfield in the Summer, no one even thought to bring in sufficient cover for Lucas. We wanted and got for a premium price Jordan Henderson who cost the same price as Liverpool got from the Mascherano sale a season before.

Play Agger as CDM and coates as centerback prob solved

Well thats it then , 6th or 7th place , such an important position , and needs a top player , so if were happy to do without , then maybe we are happy to finish outside the top four .

Not a rumour here ed's, just an enquiry. Do you see an validity in the rumours of Rafa coming back to LFC. {Ed001's Note - no. He will not be returning to manage the club. He might get an ambassadorial role or similar, if he wants it, but he will not manage the club again in the forseeable future.}

I have it on very good authority that Rafa will never manage Liverpool again as long as FSG and Ayres are involved in the club. He will not EVER be offered an ambassadorial role!

Rafa is not a very popular figure within the corridors of Anfield

On the contrary, this is a very possible outcome. Benitez would certainly put himself forward should the managerial position become available and with 2 Champions League finals, an FA Cup and Premier League runner-up to boast in 5 years would certainly be a strong contender. Should never have been sacked in the first place after just one poor season.

Glad rafa went got sick of boaring football. if kd gets five years we will be alot better off when he hands the rains over then when hodg got them.
MF79

Rafa will be back thats for sure KD has up to end of the season, and I believe that the owners will not give him any more money

If fafa comes back then i will give up on supporting liverpool , how quick you people forget , he left us in a finacial state , with bad players ,the defeat against bolton hurt , but not as much as reading home and away , plus is negative tactics and bad subs when we are trying to win a game , does anyone remember torres coming off and stevie scratching his head in disbelief

Lord, please save us from the boring football of Rafa. Rafa coming back? That would be hell all over again.

BooDaBooze

Hi Ed's ... Xabi Alonso to return to Liverpool in the summer! Daglish to be moved if he accepts into his previous role with the club.

This will happen
GR

To have this sort of inside information, you must also be privy to the details of who the replacement manager will be. Care to share?

BringbackRobbie

Real madrid will be disasterous in midfield bcoz people always take midfielder lightly

22 Jan 2012 12:35:13
Hello Eds,
is Liverpool looking to sign a creative midfielder this window or in the summer? There were some rumours about Ozil, Kaka - but I'm not sure they're good enough? This club really needs one! {Ed002's Note - I don't know what will happen in the sumemr but there has not been any interest in Oezil, Kaka or the like that I am aware of.}

Ozil and Kaka aren't good enough? What?

Are you serious? Ozil & Kaka arent good enough!!!

thats the most ridiculous thing i've read. Downing and Adam arent fit to clean there boots!

Henderson: (price) 20mil
ozil : 16 mil
kaka: 56mil
best player there is ozil worst player there is the 1 yhe only jordan henderson good buisneis liverpool :(

Your not sure theyre good enough? Are you kidding me have yo seen ozil play? He was had the most assists in europe last year we would be lucky if he gt him he has the ability to turn a game around in an instant and is always creating chances. Kakas was struck with injury since the world cup and has been strugling to get to his former glory yes but he has shown signs and has scored many and important goals for madrid aswell as creating them plus this is Kaka were talking about Kaka former ac milan former world player of the year brazilian international.
The thing about the players is that Mourinho hasnt yet found a way to play the two of them together effectively cause if they play together it means 1 of them is out if position and doesnt play well
For now he alternates games eg Ozil starts and is replaced by Kaka and vice versa
Anyway we would be lucky if either of them played for us but kaka + wges would be too expensive and madrid would be fools to let ozil go cause he is tooo important for them
Sophie

Seriously? Not good enough? We had Jordan Henderson, Carroll, Maxi and Charlie Adam starting yesterday.

Well liverpool looking for long term player which buy only young but still have to buy player that could make an impact right away.. ozil is very good young player which last season have 25 assist for real madrid.. liverpool should trying to sign him at summer and im pretty sure liverpool can have good goal scoring record way better than this season

22 Jan 2012 12:28:50
hi eds,

is there anything to suggest that we will shed one or two players this jan, and if so who?

thanks eds {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

22 Jan 2012 12:25:27
Lille have agreed a fee for Sow with Fenebache (spelling) for 8.5 mill with 1.5 add on's. Sow has his hart set on Liverpool and is waiting till the last few days ofthe window to join Fenebache only if he knows his LFC move is non existent. He has been regualy watched by Liverpool scouts and he can find the back of the net unlike a certain pony tailed number 9 we have at the moment! And with Joe Cole wishing to stay in France Liverpool should try and strike a deal that involves Cole heading the other way. In today's Market sows price would be a steal! RED GAZ YNWA ps eds keep up the fantastic work!

I agree, we need another striker and this lad is of good quality, if Joe and Lille will be happy to put a deal together the we would be very silly not to sign the player.

Tottaly agree. what is kenny doing!

Surely this is something the club should be looking at. I know part exchanging players is rare but it not unheard of. Cole and and cash for Sow would be a good bit of business, too good to turn down i think unless 1 of 2 things is going on;

1. There is something the club dont like about the player that we are not aware of.

2. They already have someone else lined up to come in.

Makes you wonder doesnt it?

Kev the Red

If kk dont get someone in of this quality soon,people are gonna start losing faith FAST,come on kennt,get something done now !!

Sow's scoring record throughout his career has been poor until the last couple of seasons. Doesn't set my pulse racing

Red Ollie

22 Jan 2012 12:15:37
Is doumbia a possability when he is back from ACON he will be pretty good signing {Ed002's Note - There was an enquiry from Newcastle about Doumbia and it is likely if there is another English team who have actually enquired it will be Arsenal. No doubt other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player. Getting through to the last 16 of the Champions League makes a January move less likely.}

22 Jan 2012 12:07:38
Hi! Eds what's the chance of getting Ricky Van Wofspinkel he's a great goalscorer speaks dutch so does Suarez, right now this week for a 25mil bid think sporting would let him go? we could recoup the money with a January Sale of Carroll, Kuyt and Maxi
kidmillions
{Ed002's Note - I would be surprised if Van Wofspinkel were to move this soon after moving to Portugal in the summer.}

Van Wofspinkel,who's he then?? lmao !! ;)

What? sell 3 players to pay for 1, what a great idea - not.

I think he is the brother of van wolfswinkel lol

We should have went and got him last year and the year before that!!

Sell 3 players or sell 3 not good enough for lfc and get 1 Class Centre Forward makes sense to me.

Yeah and when that 1 class centre forward gets injured, then what ?

Wofspinkel? HAHA!

22 Jan 2012 11:22:01
Forlan (on loan as Kuyt's replacement) till end of season, line up Gaston Ramierez or Roberto Soldado for summer, creative midfielder (Ozil or Kaka), winger (Pablo Hernandez)

Why would Forlan move to England? Ramirez will not be coming. Soldado if we get CL. No interest in Ozil. Kaka too expensive. Hernandez not for sale.

Are you dreaming about players or is there any info to back it up

For me, i think soldado n gaston ramirez could coming to liverpool and ozil, just hope he had a bad season at real madrid and liverpool could sign him..

22 Jan 2012 11:18:36
Is there any news on us getting tevez .... He wud fit in just so well ... We shud just go for it .... {Ed002's Note - It won't happen.}

What because no1 else looks like they can b bothered playing for us?

And how do you suppose we pay his wages of >£200k+ per week.

I totally agree we should start a petition to get him and get shut of carroll also get cavani which would gaurentee keeping saurez and what a strikeforce that would be that would cost us about £30m for each get £25 back for carroll it would end up costing about £35m

Tevez is trouble, I wouldn't want him anywhere near LFC

Sorry mate, Tevez has been in England for how many years, and still not bothered to learn English. He is a negative, nasty piece of work.

Tevez has been trouble at both Manchester clubs....why would we ever want him?
He would come in for a season or two and then start making waves about leaving.
NO to Tevez.
Big-murdo

He wud actually sign and then he wud shaft us and do yet another walk out! Are you a loon as well as semi illiterate?

22 Jan 2012 10:55:39
first post since last summer,..
i was told this morning that liverpool will try and offload andy carroll in the summer for around £12m or more if possible.
also been told that david texeira is a target.

jay b

David Teixeira - Yes.

offload Carroll for £12m? dont think so. everyone keeps slating him but what does he have to go on, no service or crosses coming to him, Downing was bought to do just this and hasnt done a thing. if we are to sell anyone, it should be Downing and then Adam.

Suarez has the skill and flair to make his own chances.

YS

I am starting to worry about Carroll.... If his dimise continues and he doesn't up his game, we may even have to sell him for a lot less than the 12 million you and heard of. I really am stunned that LFC and KK have not dipped into the Market for a recognised striker, not to cover Susrez but to put a rocket up Carroll's you know what! We need to have more options. Bellers can't play 2 games in a row, Kuyt is showing signs of age and Carrol ain't producing the goods.... We shouldn't put so much pressure on Suarez.
Village

Can't think who would want him?

Selling Adam would be stupid, hes our quater back, essentially. We could.do with another creative midfielder, someone like Yohann Gourcuff, although he would not be availabe. Id probably look at wingers with prem experience, Scott Sinclair, Ben Arfa, Matt Jarvis, Matt Etherington. None of them are world beaters but they are creative and would.put a ball on Carrolls.head all.day.
You have to bear in mind that Carroll was the main man at Newcastle and they played very much to his strengths. Theyre doing well this.season because Ba is similar and they havnt had to change their game too much. At Liverpool Carroll isnt the main man and were still.learning how.to use him. I think he will.come.good but his movement needs some training. Suarez and Carroll could rule as partnership for years when they click, theyre both fairly young. We do need another top marksmen though Soldado is overpriced, look closer to home, Agbonlahor would do well, as would a few others. I would like a big name but i think that will only be possible.if we get fourth.

Anfield Andy

Totally agree that Carroll and Suarez on ability alone can prove to be a formidable partnership for many years to come. My only worry is Carroll's desire and effort don't seem to match his ability! He should be a frightening and daunting though to all defenders that are going up against him but instead I actually think defenders look forward to playing against him. I could forgive him if he was just not scoring but was creating or being a menace but he is just putting in a decent shift. Hopefully he's been told to lower opposing teams expectations of him until next year when he will be fully unleashed on the premiership, now theres a thought!
Village

12 mil?haha

I'm just posting what i was told today, like i always have. and in my opinion carroll does'nt suit our style of play because he is awful on the ground.

Robert Snodgrass or Adam Lallana (not both) to be targeted as summer signings come the end of the season.
Also Tom Huddlestone and Gary Hooper have been sounded out as summer signings to replace Kuyt (who will leave) and Adam (who will become more a squad player)
BajanRed

Great signings - that should see us cement our place in 10th

Thats a great idea, those signings would be superb.

lets get Woy Hodgson back as manager too. That will really see us sorted for mid table mediocrity playing crap football.

YS

Go away ya clown!!! {Ed016's Note - I hate clowns, never trust a man with that much make up on}

Mid-table Championship! HAHA! Lets be havin you!

Why would Liverpool want to sign another midfielder (Granero) according to general internet? Any truth in that Ed? Is there any interest in Granero? {Ed002's Note - Surplus to long-term requirements in Madrid but may be needed to provide cover through to thesummer. Granero ould interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

Why would we want to sign another midfielder? did you not see the Bolton match?? right now we have one healthy midfielder worthy of starting in a team with CL ambitions: Gerrard. Adam is utter gash. Henderson may or may not come good in the future but right now he's quiet as a mouse wherever he's played. so unless you want to play with one midfielder, then yes, we need more.

I take it you didn't see Liverpool's midfield yesterday. Adam was a liability and Hendo and Gerrard were lost. Without Lucas or even Spearing (who isn't really good enough) anchoring, we're all over the place. That's why another one would be good. {Ed001's Note - Granero is an attacking midfielder, how would bringing him in provide an anchor?}

Why would we want another midfielder? Alonso, gerrard, mascherano, sissoko compared to Adam, Henderson, spearing, gerrard. Its not too hard to see why we not competing for title.

ed have we shown any intrest in matavz {Ed002's Note - He has only just moved to PSV and they will not want to sell.}

22 Jan 2012 10:19:58
whats the latest on Martinez he would b a great buy. also should put a bid for eriksson from ajax

We are Confuse about want to buy or not and then who want to buy ? Agreed Jakson Martinez can be a good buy but the Club not dear to take any risk. £8.5 is asking price we can put a bid but don't really know we will or not.

HHH

Well erikssen will be great signing.. n i personally believe he can replace gerrard in the future {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United and that now appears to be the case. I doubt that January is an option for a move but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

{Ed002's Note - Lille have agreed a fee for Sow - but now with Liverpool.}

What does it mean ?? We have agreed terms with Sow? {Ed002's NOte - It was a typo, now fixed. "not with Liverpool."}

Who with then? {Ed002's Note - Fenerbahce.}

How much and do you think we could come in with a late offer? {Ed002's Note - 10M euros rising to 13.3M euros. I don't see a "late offer" from Liverpool.}

22 Jan 2012 09:30:41
have lille agreed a fee for sow with liverpool? {Ed002's Note - No Fenerbahce.}

Ed is Right .

22 Jan 2012 05:22:25
I have this feeling we will get fresh faces in a big end to the window. Lille are holding out for deals and the best replacements before losing Sow and Hazard to us and Chelsea - Hoilett is a huge maybe - correct me if I'm wrong! I think one or two are leaving - we might expect it - and some exciting loans for youngsters? Any comments particularly about Lille? Thank you appreciate the site. {Ed002's Note - Lille have agreed a fee for Sow - but not with Liverpool, Fenerbahce.}

Ed did u mean "not" instead of now? Or have Liverpool matched the asking price {Ed002's Note - Yes, sorry. The fee has been agreed with Fenerbahce. And this is not new information.}

22 Jan 2012 08:29:25
Forlan coming in, kuyt to inter, cutiniho is a possibilty. Walter gargano maybe, and podolski

I can't imagine Kuyt would attract the likes of Inter. He is not good enough for L'pool fc so he will not be good enough for a champions league side....

Haha geez anyone else mate?

After watching forlan play for uraguay , i dont think he's good enough anymore ,maybe forlan of 2 years ago , but not now hes finished

22 Jan 2012 01:47:37
hi eds i no lfc were supposedly interested in defoe or bent any chance of getting any of them? not a big fan of either tbh but they do score goals {Ed001's Note - no interest in either that I know of.}

22 Jan 2012 01:33:17
hi eds is there any truth in lfc being interested in sessegnon (spelling) and connor wickham? not sure any of these 2 would improve d squad. thnx {Ed001's Note - we had the chance to sign Wickham, but never went for him, I doubt we are interested in him now he has spent most of the season injured. Sessegnon is not settled in England, no chance of a move for him right now, it would be too much of a risk.}

Jelavic is looking very likely. We enquired during the summer but were knocked back. For what it's worth, the friendly with Rangers was part of an agreement for the striker to sign in January.

The Insider

You are lying about the friendly

Catch a grip of yourself lad. Come off the tablets and have a lie down. It's not gonna happen....there is no interest except for the fact that Rangers are trying to start an auction.

Not the sort of forward I was hoping for but in all honesty, he cant be any worse than what we have at the moment.
He might know how to put the round thing in the net thing.
YS.

While the transfer may happen, i can't see why either club would agree to a January transfer. Friendlies also tend to happen after a deal has been agreed (which would include player terms), why would a player want to carry on playing for a team he knew he was leaving, and why would the team want them? It's hardly condusive to them "giving their all" for the team.

Hes talking to west ham

The friendly was part of Danny Wilson's transfer.

PAULMONDO YNWA

Wow 1 and 1 really does make 4 !

There is no way that Jelavic is good enough to play in the Premiership.....is a good SPL player......need I say more?

22 Jan 2012 01:21:31
hi eds ne truth in kalou and poldoski bein targets? poldolski wud be a brilliant signing kalou would be waste of money {Ed001's Note - none as far as I know in Kalou, Podolski was certainly looked at in the first part of the season, he is another unlikely to move ahead of the Euros.}

22 Jan 2012 01:13:55
Moussa Sow has said he'd reject Spurs for Liverpool but is also heavily rumoured to be going to fenerbahce and it dosent look like we have shown much intrest to sign him which is quite disappointing because i have seen him play allot and believe he is a great player and wouldnt cost anythink more than 15m max! Also i believe these Jelavic transfers are bull as he is no where near a high enough standard for us. Joe Allen = more bull s**t and Darren Bent looks like it deffo is not happening. Oh and Joao Carlos looks on his way.

Those are pretty much the main rumours so far and none of them tbh are huge.

22 Jan 2012 01:13:05
hi ed, is sow still a chance? {Ed001's Note - if we move for him, yes, but we have shown no sign of moving for him, despite him throwing himself at us. He has been scouted repeatedly, maybe what was seen was not liked enough to make us go for him yet.}

Ed is sow playing in the ACON? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

22 Jan 2012 01:08:52
according to a friend (not very reliable) lfc r preparing a £10 million bid for albrighton any truth in it?

Hope not!

but then again, hes young, English and pretty average - therefore expect a bid of £15m+

Hey Edd's is there anything in the Jordan Rhodes to Liverpool rumours, or is it all paper filler? {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it.}

I reckon Rhodes would be worth a punt! wont me big fee or wages. if it dont work out can sell him on for no/not much of a loss.

How good does he have to be? To be better than Carroll? Go get him.

22 Jan 2012 00:55:13
hi eds not a rumour more a question but do u fink there could be a chance of liverpool going for samba as would be a great signing esp after seeing the way players performed at bolton {Ed002's Note - I would not expect any knee jerk reactions resulting in the recruitment of a centre back.}

I don't think that wil happen just because atm it isn't our defense that's the problem it's the attack. We have one of the best defensive records in the league.

I no our defensive record is brilliant but after bolton fink agger and skrtel need shakin up abit so they understand there starting position is not goin 2 b safe with performances like that

This issue wasn't Agger and Skrtel but more the lack of tracking back in midfield. Its painfully obvious how much we're missing Lucas!

Same thing happened after the season we finished second, We lost Alonso and didn't have a replacement, hance a collapse the season after, same has happened with Lucas, no ready made replacement so we're struggling.

Hi eds and all, are we really after Krasic? Thanks
Hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic but it is unclear if the likes of Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. Krasic has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in him. There is at least one very influential person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and wishes to revisit earlier interest. Discussions have taken place between the clubs with view to a loan move, but Juventus want to sell and Chelsea are not keen to do that. Borussia Dortmund, Zenit St Petersburg and Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested and a bid will be certainly made by Bayern Munich. Juventus have made it clear he has no future at the club and have hawked him around a little and Joksimovic has been trying to get Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs interested in the player. They are looking for a fee of around 14M euros.}

Surely this guy is worth interest / discussions. It is clear as day that we need someone like him.
Ed - Does he have an attitude problem? {Ed002's Note - He has not reacted well to being on the bench or left out of the team.}

if liverpools transfer policy is to but young and english marc albrighton would be perfect replacement for kuyt any chance of it happening as wouldnt be too expensive and has alot of potential?

Ok Guys just heard from a very reliable source Liverpool FC are in advanced talks with Patricio Rodriguez`s agent Silvio Sandri over a move to the club a fee of £12million already agreed looks like this is the young south American everybodys been talking about.

What do you think eds?

Tmooney2005 {Ed001's Note - sorry I have no idea whether that is true or not, I know we have had him watched, as have Man Utd and Spurs, but that is all I know about him.}

If this is true it will be amazin!! Have u seen this lad play? Defiantly what we need. Anyone else heard this rumour?

I hope so. This kid is going to be a super star!

Who is he? never heard of him.
hope its true and hes good though!

YS.

I'm from Argentina, Patricio Rodriguez plays in Independiente, i'm a "patito's" fan and i hope he could play for liverpool. He's a wonderful player.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fa8QeBCfVdE

{Ed002's Note - Independiente's Patricio Rodriguez has been hawked around Europe all of this year without much luck. Benfica seemed the most likely destination.}

Ed001, the other day, probably a week or so ago, you said that it was proving difficult to convince targets to make the move to us during this transfer window for a number of reasons. My question is do you you know who any of these targets were? And do you think they are likely to move in the summer? Personally, if these targets are of a high quality, i.e Soldado, I'd rather wait until summer to get someone of that ilk rather than settling for a third or forth choice now that we regret in a years time. After all, just look at Carroll. He was third choice after Gomez and Llorente and he's yet to reach the heights we'd all hoped for. {Ed001's Note - Soldado is supposedly one of those who was unwilling to move, but that is not certain info, Luuk De Jong is one that I know has indicated to all parties showing interest that he will not move in January. The club did hold the same position as you, hence the plan to look for loan signings to see us through the season.}

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'm pleased that the club aren't willing to rush in and spend big money on a player on the back up list. I'm heartened that you say that Soldado was one of those unwilling to move at the moment, as that shows that we are at least looking and enquiring about players of the required quality. I appreciate it's not certain information, but that will at least keep me going until the summer window after tonight's terrible performance. Cheers mate, thanks for all your time and effort.
