Ed02, is the report possible about valencia adding an extra few million on to the soldado fee and giving us cissoko for 1 million to avoid sell on fee? seems a stupid made up report but u never know.
Johnaldinioh {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it, sorry.}

The £1m you mention is the 1-year loan fee for Cissokho (£900k). Whatever you've read is bizarre! Also, if we like Cissokho and want to keep him, it'll only cost us an extra £3.5m next summer, which would be a absolute bargain. Be amazed if we were in for Soldado unless Suarez deal was sorted, which it isn't.

Soldado will not be joining Liverpool

Would jus like to know what Ed02 has to say about all this soldado rumers of him coming to Liverpool FC {Ed002's Note - Liverpool did previously show some interest in Soldado as did Napoli, Milan and PSG. However, Valencia wanted him to stay and he signed a new deal in last summer. Spurs are interested now but he will stay another season in Spain unless an attractive offer is made to the club and player. Spurs are pushing for a deal but even though they are not close on price have agreed to face-to-face talks with Valencia. If Liverpool wish to move for the player - it will need to be done quickly and at a decent price.}

I hope we don't. I don't think he's what we need. From what i've seen of him he does not seem to have any pace - something that is imperative to our system.
Cheers,
Mr T

Hes no slower than Suarez. The boy knows where the goal is and would be as good a Suarez replacement as we could realistically attain at present. If we lose Suarez to Arsenal and Spurs beat us to Soldado I fear for our season to be honest.

Ed could you clarify this for me in a round about way? Basically, are spurs about to sign him but we could nip in there if we're quick and sell out project etc better than spurs?
Thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - I rather think it to be too late.}

Hey ed do you think Liverpool will only try and sogn soldado if suarez leaves? Even if he does leave I don't see where soldado fits, when we already have sturridge
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not now.}

{Ed019's Note - Hello everybody, I would just like to inform you that I have renewed the LFC Rumours fantasy league from last season on http://www.fantasy.premierleague.com, so everyone who was in it last year is now in it again.
If you haven't joined it yet the code is 7640-85781

Just to advise, last years champion 'Peeps F.C' will not be participating this year. Someone else now has the chance to take the prize ;)
Good luck to all!

Amadeo Salvo, the president of Valencia has just been in a press conference this lunchtime. He has confirmed that Aly Cissokho 'is likely to join Liverpool' on a 12 month loan, with an option to buy next summer.
Really out the blue that one, but that is what he's said.

Great deal!
Agree5

That would be great for us. I don't think Cissokho is great but I really would prefer a loan of a LB as I rate Enrique and by only committing to a loan Robinson can prove himself this year in the championship and hopefully come back to us good enough to challenge Enrique.
Agree2
Disagree1
That would make a bit of sense, BR has openly admitted that he's looking to strengthen at Left Back, and with Chelsea apparently giving us a definite no for Bertrand, Cissokho would be a decent option with Robinson not quite ready!
Agree1

If it's true, then it's a good move by LFC. A bit of healthy competition at left-back for Enrique is just what we need.

Would be a good deal defence would have good depth.

No way - a post about a transfer / signing that is true!

He will be good back up to Jose Enrique, he's not a world class LB but he's ok for what we need, I know we have Robinson but Cissokho provides that bit more experience and has the strength of a bull.

Would like to echo the more astute football followers on here. A loan for Cissokho is a fantastic move. He will provide a good bit of depth to push Enrique. It also gives BR the chance to loan out Robinson as he simply needs game time before he can push for starting XI.
I would say Cissokho is not a keeper personally but atleast we have the option to buy if he shines through and we decide he's better than Enrique.
A lot of bad vibes from fellow fans about this one, don't see it as a bad signing, see it as Robinsons opportunity to get some decent game time

Hi Ed's and Red's.
Any truth that we are preparing to bid for Reus?
Seem to remember him being heavily scouted under kenny/comoli.
Piddy. {Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

He would be amazing, but no chance I don't think. His value is probably equal to or greater than that of Suarez.

Reus would be an excellent signing, but the likelyhood of it happening is near zero I'd assume.
What about the wingers from Dortmund though? Jakub Błaszczykowski and Kevin Großkreutz

Man, how great would that be? A pipe dream I'm sure but he's a very classy player. One of my favorites.

There is no chance he will come. I'd prefer the next reus. Hermann!

If Marco Reus was available (which he isn't) then I would guess Man City, Man Utd, Madrid, Bayern, Barca, PSG (to name but a few) would be well ahead of us in the queue to sign him.
He ain't coming to LFC, so forget about it.

With our infinite well of cash? We'll be trawling the lower leagues for our bargain signings

People may laugh but if we sold suarez for say 60 we could get bernard reus erikson who ever Rogers wants even a top finisher we have done well with sturrage without luis but selling 1 top player and buying maybe 3 top players would be a good deal in my opinion
Agree0
Disagree1
People are seriously delirious. We will not sign Marco Reus. Probabably ever. Fifa ultimate team is getting to people's heads. And Luis Suarez will stay this year (at least I pray) WHY some might ask? Because Luis Suarez is WORLD CLASS. And LFC can't sign WORLD CLASS in the position we've been in for the past 5 or so years. Suarez has to stay. Or else we will not make 4th place and we will continue to attract mediocre players (sure they can become great; but we can't sign "proven stars") I really hope we don't sign Soldado for the crazy price being talked about. He's worth no more than 16-20m. I really want to see a DM come in. CB LB & ST/Winger and that's it! I have faith in our club and our manager. But I don't have faith in our fans with suggestions such as this lol

Liverpool's chief scout Barry Hunter has flown out to Melbourne to provide Rodgers and managing director Ian Ayre with an update on the club's pursuit of transfer targets.

So I take it he doesn't have a phone or Internet access? Makes more sense to fly across the world to discuss such matters in person.

That update won't take long: have we signed anyone?

Don't they have phones in oz? Basically it'll go summat like this,, eriksen, no, Bernard no, Higuain wake up,, saurez to arsenal 90%,

So instead of Hunter being able to stay in his office and continue doing his job, he is going to fly out to Australia to do in person what he could do via a videocall?
Highly professional there.

No Mobile Phones, fax machines or Emails allowed in Australia?
When did that law pass?
Seems a little odd or peculiar; perhaps even exciting, that our chief scout would personally fly all the way out to Australia, when he could just stay home in Liverpool and shoot the manager a txt, doesn't it?
Not dismissing this of course, just really curious.

Surprised the chief scout has to do the negotiating as well! I thought their role was to identify talent not to also carry out contract negotiations.
If we are still ' scouting' for this window, then somebody's not doing their job properly

Suarez bit Ayre's phone in half when told he was not going to Madrid for 20m and a bag of toffee.
So he has to fly.

"We've even had one of our scouting team arrive here last night to give Brendan and I an update on where we are in certain areas."
Ayre's interview about the 95,000 crowd at the MCG. Read it and maybe the OP was not wrong after all.

My point was that a face to face meeting always creates a better scenario than a phone call. There is also the possibility that were scouting someone that's touring the same scene as us.
Anfield Andy
Agree0

Or perhaps a player that is based in Australia.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think the criticism towards the OP is unfair - clearly reviewing transfer targets is a continually moving process that requires review of new potential (via video along with stats and discussion etc) - and Rogers and his advisors will be continually evaluating how individuals are gelling together on the field. Do you want the management to be making knee-jerk decisions over the phone to please those people who would have us sign the most expensive players on the planet - assuming they will fit into the team? Common get a grip we don't have bottomless pockets of others and we need to avoid past mistakes with transfers. I for one would be very happy that the management sit down and discuss pros and cons of newly identified players. Col.
