Hi Ed001

To your knowledge are we still pursuing Clyne and Kovacic please and do you expect us to look to get our business done early in the window and ready for the tour?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Kovacic yes, I don't know regarding Clyne, and yes we are trying to get our business done early.}

Good.

Ed001 do you believe we will target another forward in this window? Also do you think that Bogdan is only keeper or will we look for a challenger for the GK Jersey?

{Ed001's Note - depends on outs, not this window.}

I'm sure the Eds have already answered this multiple times, but I'd like to post Guillem Ballague's comments regarding Carlos Bacca:

". at the end of the season told Sevilla he would like a way out. Sevilla would like him to stay, but he does know there is interest from the Premier League and Italy.

"He likes the idea of coming to the Premier League, of course he has been abroad for a few years and would be happy to continue that progression abroad.

"Although Sevilla expect an offer, but it hasn't arrived yet."

Safe to assume that someone in the Premier League is going to attempt to prise him away from Sevilla, although I doubt we'd be able to tempt him without CL football, considering he just won the EL. Perhaps by the time the Copa is finished there will be offers on the table for him.

Maybe bacca is trying to stir up interest in a prem league team so he can get a nice little pay rise maybe?
Players agents leak this stuff to journos to try and drum up interest in them if they are looking to get out.

The striker saga / suspense is killing me.

Be a suprise to buy a player over 27 for 20 million +

Yeah, doesn't really fit with our typical transfers, but Aspas was right around 26-27, and Lambert, yeah. enough said. Linked with Llorente, Tevez, Gameiro and others that are 30ish, so I can't see why the money being talked about for Bacca isn't legit. Ronaldo, Messi, Griezmann, Neymar and then Bacca.

Bacca ain't going to happen. Aubameyang please!

Ings to wear no. 28 @ Liverpool FC. Had a chance to speak to him the other day, went down to the england u21 squad hotel.

Saw Lawro as well, who happens to be a fantastic guy. Spent a good half an hour chatting with me and some friends.

Was he not offered the number 7 or 9? Lambert has the number 9 now, but he will likely leave.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Jun 2015 13:14:21
I thought Lambert was staying?

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 13:20:18
He would hardly have been offered Lambert's jersey while he is still here, surely we are not that bad now?

Also is Lambert likely to leave? I thought it was a case of he can leave if he wants but he is welcome to stay as backup if he wants too. He may be waiting to see if we sell Borini and Balotelli and whether or not someone else comes in then.

22 Jun 2015 13:21:07
Dunno mate, but he signed number 28 on my shirt and he was no 10 of Burnley & 17 for the u21s

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 20:47:47
Lambert surely would have had talks with the club regarding his future especially as an offer was accepted for him during the January window

22 Jun 2015 21:33:37
Need a top number 7 this year.

22 Jun 2015 22:59:19
Just seen the Echo reporting him choosing the 28 shirt because he wanted to earn a low number shirt. Fair play to the lad.

Milner was given 7.

I wonder how long it will take Balotelli to earn a lower shirt number? ;)

Kondogbia to Inter will be confirmed after his medical today. Italian media claiming Liverpool have reached €20m (£14.3m) in their bid for Kovacic, Inter holding out for €25m (£18m) but an agreement seems likely now as Monaco didn't want Hernanes and no other club seem likely to pay close to what they're asking for him, except maybe Fenerbahce. Inter need to make back as much as pssible of the €35m (£25m)they're paying for Kondogbia.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

22 Jun 2015 10:38:21
Surely the fee would be £18m i don't see how they would accept anything less as they want to keep him. The windows not open yet so they have time to sell hernanes.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 13:02:14
Yup Liverpool know the price being asked and he is worth it, just hope they actually make that 'serious' offer now and no more funny little ones.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 13:32:15
Let's hope he doesn't mind competing with the 7000 other midfielders for his place

22 Jun 2015 14:49:57
It does make you wonder what the intended shape & line-up of our midfield is supposed to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 17:45:17
I hope it's true but I'm sure inter are happy to let one any 3 out Fredy Guarin, Hernanes, Juan Jesus and Zdravko Kuzmanovic And kovacic go but that means we still have to give them a concrete offer kovacic not an offer that's value is because we know they need to sell if it really is 18m they want we should pay especially after playing 20m+ for lovren, kovacic is a promising young talent we should pay up just wish it was that simple just hope it's the last midfielder we bring in it's getting silly now.

Hello Ed's and fellow readers.

Daily reader for so many years, but only ever post on the banter or other pages.

However, I have recieved some information on the weekend. A former coach I worked with in the local area is a life-long Swansea City fan who also does volunteer work for the club (Stewarding etc.). I text him stating how well I think Swansea are doing in the transfer market. When I asked him whether or not he thinks Tabanou will start at Left Back next season, he said yes as he's heard Neil Taylor is going to Liverpool.

How reliable this information is, I don't know. I just thought I'd pass this on as it's the first rumour I've had to post after about 5 years of visiting and reading this brilliant site.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - Rodgers loves Taylor for some unknown reason. Never understood it as he is a truly woeful player. The only reason Taylor never joined a while back was his long term injury.}

22 Jun 2015 10:23:24
If Taylor does join, it means BR is still in control of the transfer committee.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 10:55:26
This is a non-starter. Taylor signed a new contract with Swansea at the start of the month. Absolutely no chance of Taylor joining the reds

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Jun 2015 11:08:02
guess rodgers wants the "welsh jordi alba" 😜

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 12:27:17
There is nothing to suggest Taylor will be joining LFC. Tabanou has a wicked left foot, brilliant long range shooter/freekick taker.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 15:21:42
Like I said guys it was only a rumour passed on from a Swansea fan. I'm Welsh but personally I wouldn't want us to sign him as I don't think he's good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 17:01:14
No no no taylor is nowhere near good enough davies was much better an he can't get a look in at spuds

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 16:41:49
i always thought BR would go for Taylor , i used to watch him before he got injured and breaking his leg , he is better than enrique also he is better at defending than moreno so i would not be supprised if we do get him i posted ages ago that BR would go for Taylor

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 20:57:13
He`s still a poor player and BR is obssessed with his former players who wind up to be opoor if borini 9altho not enuff chances) and Allen. If that is accurate, Taylor will be just be as poor

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2015 22:53:13
I'm a swansea lad and to say Taylor is woeful is a bit harsh, he was a good player before he had that bad injury!!

Ed002 are we interested in illaremendi?

And am I right in thinking if we are then it will be inplace of Kovacic?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid will look for a significant fee for Asier Illarramendi who is of interest to Real Sociedad and Napoli, in addition to Arsenal and in particular Athletic Bilbao who were negotiating a January transfer. Will almost certainly move in the summer. I understand Inter Milan and AC Milan dropped what interest they had after being told that the player would look for a return to the Basque country if he leaves.}
